Am I surprised that season 2 hair won again? Not after last time, no. But variations of scruffier Mac get the gerrymander treatment and split the vote whereas folks who enjoy a cleaner cut Mac really only have one option to vote for.

I am firmly in the longer haired, less put together Mac camp

And because it's my poll I'm going to share all my opinions. But also feel free to share yours if you want.

Unaired pilot hair. While I do often like longer hair on dudes, the hair from the unaired pilot, when it's just hanging long and down is not my favorite look. The little clip we get when he's got it tied back is A+ and I enjoy that look very much. While I wouldn't want a whole season with this look I really appreciate that it exists. I kind of headcanon that this is how high school senior and MIT Mac wears his hair. James would have hated it.

First half of season 1/The Rising hair. My favorite of the canon Mac hair. There's just something about it. Maybe it's because this was the first hair we saw so it's just cemented in my head but this is what I think of when I think about Mac. At Lake Como his hair looked really shiny and healthy but in some of the other early season one episodes it looked a little more brittle. I like to pretend that his reflected his still healing status after getting shot in The Rising.

Shorter style, second half of season one look. It's a bit tidier than the first half of season 1. He got a trim. I like it and it falls in line with my Mac-hair headcanon that I will finish writing one day. Updated yesterday

Season 2 hair. This style won the poll last time and I was shocked. I thought liking longer-haired Mac was a universal experience. It's not a bad look by any means, I don't think he's capable of having a bad look, but I like his hair when it's longer. It also fits my Mac-hair headcanon. Mac keeps his hair shorter and neater when he's seeking James' approval.

It would have been so funny if the mistake beard went another poll with no votes. There's no way baby faced Mac is growing a beard that full in 3 months, but I like it as a symbolic middle finger to James. Mac doesn't need or want his approval anymore so he grows his hair out and a thick beard to match. My only regret is that no one from the team got to tease him about it.

Fluffy season 3 hair. Probably my second favorite of the canon Mac hair. It's fluffy and fully of sunshine and he keeps it long as a way to rebel.

season 4- least favorite. It just looks off to me. Like they were trying hard to hide a bad hair cut. Oh wait, they were. Or not bad just dated. Season 4's hair was the result of the hair cut from Son of the South.

season 5- ok this might be my second favorite. It's hard to tell and I shouldn't hold the bad episodes of season 5 against the haircut. I like it because it falls over his forehead more. Its a little messier. I like Mac to look a little messier

Favorite hair by a mile. We had to suffer through a stupid quarantine episode and they couldn't even give us the satisfaction of quarantine hair while watching it? Unacceptable. I demand a refund. I'd like to speak to a manager

Feral Mac in a bandana- love. It's got the beanie vibes but you can still see his hair. Chef's kiss

Brunette Mac- I think it's a cute look and it makes me think of like "evil twin" Mac. Like when old shows would have an evil sibling show up, played by the same actor wearing a dark wig so you know they were the bad guy.

Beanie Mac- I like it. At the time it aired it gave me a lot of thoughts about Mac wearing a headband in the lab to keep his hair contained. And then I got feral bandana Mac

Alright friends, two years ago we did a fun, silly little "Favorite Mac Hair" poll. But we have some new friends that have joined us and @ariminiria mentioned wanting a chance to vote. Polls can have 12 options now, so that's fun and I remember with great regret leaving off beanie Mac from the original.

New Hair Extension Method? 👀

Our OG Tumblr IT Girl, Justine Skye recently posted on her IG that she got K-Tips (Keratin Tips) extensions which looks the same as Micro Links but they're applied a little differently and this technique is not reusable.

What to know:

Keratin Tips: Keratin tips are individual hair extensions that are attached to your natural hair using a keratin bond. The keratin bond is melted and fused with your natural hair using a special heating tool. This method creates a strong and long-lasting bond that can stay in place for several months. Keratin tips are ideal for adding length and volume to your hair.

Micro Links: Micro links, also known as micro bead or micro ring extensions, are individual hair extensions that are attached to your natural hair using small metal beads or rings. The extensions are threaded through the rings, and then the rings are clamped shut to secure the extensions in place. This method does not require any heat or glue, making it a more gentle option for your hair. Micro links can be easily adjusted and removed without causing damage to your natural hair.

Attachment Method: Keratin tips use a keratin bond that is melted and fused with your natural hair, while micro links use small metal beads or rings that are clamped shut to secure the extensions.

I asked can that really happen bc idk it's a genuine question lol.

I asked my friends this question a few months ago and they told me that their tips (the ends of your hair) dry first and I was the ONLY one amongst my friends that said my hair dries first on the crown of the head. They told me it depends on the hair type you have and that was really interesting to me. So I wanna see if there are more people out there who's crown dries first like me.

I encourage people who voted for more than one of these to tell me which!!! Pls bc I'm gonna vote for that one. Crown and bangs for me!!!
