So several gaylors have been talking abt the Stephen Colbert interview Taylor did on April 13, 2021 and I believe I may have figured out how this interview fits into this giant puzzle. I think this entire interview is an easter egg and a metaphor for the rabbit hole they are trying to lead us down. The first thing I want to point out is the letters on the mood board that spell out Stephen's name. These letters look just like the fridge magnets in Gracie's Mess It Up mv which spell out a secret message "Hi (13, 31) Peter Pan - T." These magnets are toys that kids usually play with which fits with the Peter Pan theme. These magnets also show up in the Stay mv.

The second thing I want to point out is the emphasis on the "pizza." I believe that the pizza represents PR/bearding/lavender haze/showmanship/magic. Many of the anon messages have words starting with the letter P such as the 🎁, 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿, and 🌋 messages (present, presence, pretence, patience, perseverance, etc) and pizza also starts with a P. The Feb 19 🎁 message said "PR, PR, PR, PUBLISH!" In the delicate mv there's Joe's Deli; this led to the common swiftie interpretation that "And baby, I get mystified by how this city screams your name" is referring to how in NYC there are tons of restaurants and shops that have "Joe" in their name such as Joe's Pizza.

There is also this insta post with Haim where they are all dressed in costumes while eating pizza. Taylor specifically says "mood board" in the caption which connects it to the Stephen Colbert interview. I believe this connects to the 11th 🎃 message about sheep in wolves' clothing and to the willow mv mad woman scene where everyone is conjuring something with magic while in masquerade masks.

Another indication that pizza = PR/bearding is that Taylor just recently went to a pizza place with 🏈 in NYC on Sept 6 (which could also be Taylor poking fun at the Joe’s Pizza thing). Many gaylors have speculated that Sabrina’s Please Please Please mv is a satire abt Taylor and 🏈’s relationship. Interestingly Sabrina and Barry walk through a pizza shop in the mv which could have been foreshadowing the Sept 6 stunt.

To add even more proof, around June 15 during one the Liverpool shows, Taylor randomly ordered pizza for her crew mid show. I think this was likely a hint at the big London stunt on June 23 where 🏈 was literally part of the showmanship.

Also, Gracie recently did a photoshoot with Who What Wear at the Bob Baker Marionette Theater in Los Angeles and had a P and 13 on her jacket. This likely connects to the ginger messages abt the theater and magic. The P on her jacket could stand for "puppet" in this case.

Going back to the Stephen Colbert interview, as I said before I believe the entire interview is a metaphor for this rabbit hole/mass coming out movement. The interview starts with Stephen theorizing that Hey Stephen is abt him and he lists all the pieces of evidence that led him to this conclusion (this is analogous to us kaylors/gaylors making theories abt Taylor's music). Taylor then proceeds to essentially gaslight him. She starts listing a ton of really specific details abt him that would indicate that Hey Stephen is in fact abt him (these details are analogous to the connections/easter eggs/queer signals) but then afterwards she comes up with a narrative to explain away all these things. To us, it's quite obvious that these things are too specific to just be a coincidence and that Taylor is lying to him the whole time. This is what TTPD is abt. Red herrings, magic, showmanship, and smoke and mirrors (or "pizza") that distract the audience from the man behind the curtain pulling the strings like a puppet master and from the true story being told in the "whispers and sighs" as ginger anon said.

dearest anon, please know you've made my entire summer with this ask <3333 (here's the playlist in question)

now while i recognise you probably weren't looking for a legitimate breakdown of the process here, you've inspired me to take a deep dive, and i'm prone to getting carried away (and yes, i read high fidelity recently and rewatched the film and the series. but i'm sure that has nothing to do with it). so here goes, under the cut:

Lizzy's Guide to the Delicate Art of Making a Playlist

#1 - What's the Point?

There has to be a theme or mood or connecting thread for the playlist. That being said, as long as it makes sense to you, you've pretty much got this covered.

What's the story? Is it based on a mood, an event, a time in your life, a person, a character, a genre, an era, etc. etc. There's plenty to choose from, so there's plenty of playlists to be made. Go crazy, get weird with it.

(In this example, the overarching theme is: Glen Powell Hot (Twisters Edn.) with a sub-theme, if you will: Country Music for Beginners.)

#2 - Song Selection

Once the theme is set, I gather a few tracks that spring to mind immediately. In this instance:

• Why'd You Come In Here Lookin' Like That - Dolly Parton

• Cowboy Take Me Away - The Chicks

• Country's Cool Again - Lainey Wilson

All of these are fairly self-explanatory if you have been caught up in the Twisters press tour at all recently. No further comment.

From here I flesh out the ~general vibelist~ with more tracks, some classics and some deep cuts. I'm cross-referencing my own musical knowledge, previous playlists, spotify mixes (god forgive me, the occasional algorithm picks), and other user's Powell playlists (topgun-heavy, but you certainly can't blame them).

#3 - Order Matters

There's got to be some sort of flow to the playlist front to back, unless your theme is audio whiplash, for example.

Now here I am a devout follower of the High Fidelity rules, which are as follows:

Track 1 - Open with a killer - sets the tone, gets people invested

(Here, Lady Gaga's You And I ~ it's a banger, and it's country enough to get away with. Can't bring out the banjo prematurely, we'll lose people)

Track 2 - Bring it up a notch - let them know we're just getting started

(Alannah Myles, Black Velvet ~ country-ing it up a notch but staying firmly in the mainstream, because again, we don't want to scare anyone)

Track 3 - Cool it down - now we're settling in

(Chris Stapleton ft. Dua Lipa - I Think I'm In Love With You ~ Dua keeps us firmly rooted in the crowd pleasers, and we can sneak in some Stapleton)

N.B. There is a rule here that I don't abide by, the "only one track per artist" - there's three dolly tracks in this lineup alone and i stand by all of them. Provided you're not adding an entire album or two, I think you can get away with it.

Anyway, this three-track run fires us into a classic (Islands In The Stream) which melts into Tyler Childers and suddenly we're knee deep in Kentucky and you didn't even know it.

The trick is to not overthink it, which is always easier said than done. Ordering only has to make sense to you from start to finish. This journey's gotta go somewhere - throw in a few peaks and troughs, and the songs are just connecting the dots along the way.

#4 - As Does Shuffle-ability

Now, having said all that, I feel like this is a safe space to admit I am a chronic shuffler, so a degree of shuffle-ability is required.

All this means is that your underlying theme is evident throughout. Any wildcards are going to make sense wherever they pop up.

With this one, the thread of country through all of these tracks is what ties the theme together (saving a horse). There are some classics (Faith Hill, Willie Nelson), soul-heavy tracks (Secret Sisters, Leon Bridges), and and few more pop-adjacent (Haim, Ashe) but they've all got that twang - so it's shuffle proof.

#5 - Points for Presentation

A good cover, title and description can offset a multitude of sins. Don't underestimate the power of presentation.

Duration comes into play here also, where anything shorter than half an hour feels like it has nowhere to go, but over three hours feels insurmountable. Unless you're going for a compilation, year in your life playlist, or some background low-fi stuff, keep it tight.

And there you have it folks, my (lengthy) guide to playlist curation. Final note, don't love it and leave it. If you come across something new, jostle things around to get it in. Similarly, if something doesn't fit anymore, toss it. The beauty of the modern mixtape is you can edit it as little or as often as you like.

On their return to their hotel, they went on a very romantic stroll through the City of Love, holding hands, walking by le Pont des Arts, sitting on benches to exchange clothes, and being the most affectioned with each other . . . .

OK, so when they actually arrive to their hotel, Sophie was wearing Perry's green jacket that looks so big on her, and I love it!

GIRAFE & COSTES

During the night of Monday, March 4th, Sophie and Perry were seen at Girafe restaurant, and later at Costes restaurant.

There are several videos of Sophie being so nice and sweet with her fans waiting for her at her hotel door and at those restaurants doors. She took pictures and videos and sent greetings for a lot of lucky fans. You can watch it here & here.

In those videos you can see that Perry's friend, Rupert Gorst, joined them that night. He is the same friend that travelled with them to ski in Meribel.

In those videos you can also see that Sophie left Costes restaurant with a Glowery bag. Glowery is a brand founded by Alexandra Kolasinski (a long time friend of Sophie's ex husband), so Sophie probably met with her at Costes. I'm mentioning this just to reiterate that the "cheating allegations" are a made up narrative.

During the after party, Sophie was seen next to singer Felix from Stray Kids and Nicolas Ghesquiere, while listening to singer Zaho de Sagazan performing her song La symphonie des éclairs on the piano.

Rupert Gorst joined Sophie and Perry for the after party as well. They sure had a blast.

I know everyone is probably sad rn but this is honestly a good thing bc it means we’re on track for a July ghosting like we theorized. We’re likely at the mahogany vinyl right now (July-Sept, 7-9) after being in the glitch/chaos/blood moon period from April-June, 4-6, which is why there were so many (intentional) glitches recently (x). It’s pretty clear she’s performing the bejeweled mv to a T so we’re likely at this scene rn. Notice the blue and pink lighting in the proposal scene. I think this could symbolize her leaning heavily into gender norms and heteronormativity. “Blue is for boys 🩵 and pink is for girls 🩷.” This is likely why going anon sent those colored hearts. The light blue heart 🩵 might also be related to blank space (bearding song) (x)(x) and the 1989 mashup she did on 6/23 which we all agreed meant a breakup was probably coming soon. Taylor and 🏈 both mentioned bikes yesterday and 🏈 said he suggested riding a bike during blank space (x)(x). Check my tags on this post for my interpretation of what the bikes might represent.

She just passed the “test” w the ICDIWABH performance on 6/23 (I’m sure I can pass this test, 1234; see the 🕰️ anon post) and Queen Pat, who is regarded as the most influential makeup artist in the industry, was pleased. Taylor also uses makeup in the fortnight mv to symbolize how she’s had to cover up her true self (tattoos) w red herrings/bearding/PR. Also notice all the fans. It’s possible the fans symbolize how right now she has all the fans/swifties in the palm of her hand and all of them are eagerly awaiting an engagement and eventual wedding.

The bejeweled mv using the Cinderella story as a metaphor is quite significant bc at midnight Cinderella’s glittering ballgown turns back into normal clothes. This represents how at Midnight (meet me at midnight) Taylor is going to destroy the facade and the magic/lavender haze/smokescreen/PR will be gone and her fans will be disillusioned bc they’ll realize Taylor isn’t who they thought she was.

Whether or not they are intentional or planned, there are some narrative threads that came out of this whole weekend that I find interesting and wonder if she'll pick up on. Mostly revolving around Travis. Even a lot of the people defending her are framing it as, well, Brittany is her boyfriend's best friend's wife, so she has to be nice to avoid trouble in Travis and Patrick's personal and work relationship, in a way that makes me suspect that if she broke up with Travis those same fans would then be happy to jump to saying that she only had to hang out with those terrible people because of Travis and Travis was making her compromise her values. And there were photos of I think Danielle Haim moving seats to be further away from Brittany and Taylor over the course of the day, in a way I've seen read to mean that there's tension between her old friends and her new friends. On the whole swifties will always find something to flip on her exes over once they break up, but this weekend is the first time I've felt like I can see the fuzzy outline of what that would look like with Travis.

A little while ago, you referred to Jack Antonoff as Taylor Swift’s industry Jew and I’ve actually been thinking about that. A lot of her big collaborators over the past decade have been Jewish. Jack, Aaron Dessner, the Haim sisters, Gracie Abrams.

I really wonder how they feel about Taylor’s close relationship with the Hadids. She and Gigi and Bella have been close since the “squad” era and she is still seen with Gigi quite a bit. And I’m not saying this because they are Palestinian, but because of all the horrible antisemitic things they and their other family members (especially their dad) have said and posted after October 7th. To echo a past anon during the previous Jack discussion, I don’t know any of these people. Maybe all Taylor’s Jewish collaborators are anti-Zionist JVP supporters, although none of the people I mentioned have gone full Ilana Glazer so who knows. But from a pure statistical standpoint, at least some of the people I listed might identify as Zionist or just not be comfortable with what the Hadids have said or all the Hamas apologia. Even self-described anti-Zionist Jews have expressed discomfort with some of the things coming from the Hadid family.

personally, I don’t think the jews in the industry she’s around care. from what they share publicly, I wouldn’t trust any of them on what is/isn’t antisemitic, because they seem like the type to claim jewishness and maybe were raised religiously jewish but don’t actually connect with it in their personal lives like a lot of jewish celebs. maybe they’re safe people in private, but from what I know about them they’re not. they probably don’t even care about taylor’s antisemitism, her shady nazi/hitler aesthetic for a whole album, and see her working with them as ‘proof’ that she’s not antisemitic. very much the vapid ‘I have jewish friends’ accepting types. again, it could just be a public persona as to protect themselves. but I don’t think they care at all.
