Which homes in the U.S. are most vulnerable to storm, flood, wildfire, and hurricane damage? Natee Amornsiripanitch and David Wylie of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia find that average annual property-level loss to single-family residences is highest in Gulf Coast states. Severe convective storms such as hailstorms and tornadoes, which affect nearly all single-family homes, pose the largest aggregate property risk with average annual losses of 0.06% of total insurable value. However, while less geographically widespread, flood and hurricane risks do more damage. For example, average annual losses among at-risk homes are 0.09% for flooding and 0.16% for hurricane storm surge. Peril-prone regions tend to have lower household incomes, lower labor market participation rates and lower educational attainment than regions with less risk. The authors find that the greatest growth in climate-related damage will occur in areas where risk is already most concentrated. Policies aimed at reducing the physical risks of climate change, the authors conclude, will therefore disproportionately benefit low-income populations.

Blockade Runner Part 3
Part one is over here Part two is over here
"Dead???" Tingmell thought he misheard. He couldn't be dead. There was much too much to do!
"Oh yes, very." The eldest K'laxi flicked his tail, a nod. "Though" he continued. "Not for very long. Once the human ship leaves the wormhole and enters space again you'll go back to your body and 'be alive' again. Whole thing is a mess really." He scoffed. "And the humans think this is normal!." He laughed.
***** Tingmell came to in his support frame, belted to the seat in the command room of Dawnbreaker. He glared at Captain Bennigan who was watching him carefully. The Captain locked eyes with Tingmell, nodded with a small grunt and said "We'll talk about it later." He turned forward. "Status!" he barked to the room.
"We've exited the wormhole in atmosphere of K'lax!" the human behind Tingmell who shouted the update sounded like he was trying not to panic.
Dawnbreaker spoke right after. "Captain Bennigan, we have exited the wormhole much closer to the K'laxi homeworld than anticipated. We appeared in the atmosphere at a hight of 200 kilometers from the surface and are spinning towards the surface."
When Tingmell heard Dawnbreaker's report, he was confused. When he saw Captain Bennigan's surprise he was terrified. Bennigan regained control over his features immediately and started barking orders. "War emergency power to the engines! We need to boost into a safe orbit! Fire the juke-charges to arrest our spin and orient us towards orbit"
Even Dawnbreaker sounded worried. "Aye Captain, firing juke-charges. All-hands prepare for shock."
In space, there is no real way to change your direction quickly. Early human ships experimented with huge, heavy, fast spinning gyroscopes so that they could spin around quickly, but this only changed their orientation, not their direction of travel. Later, it was decided that since everyone was chained to the same laws of physics, space battles weren't going to be like air battles. Instead, the humans concentrated on thick armor to withstand attack. In the case of a missile attack, human ships could launch small shaped charges to cause the ship to slide or 'juke' out of the way of the incoming missile without changing their direction of flight. In atmosphere, tumbling towards the surface with no control surfaces, Dawnbreaker was using the juke charges to arrest the ships spin, and orient it back towards space.
Tingmell didn't know this. What he did know was suddenly there was a cacophony of double booms as the charges were launched and almost immediately detonated, the force of the explosion pushing against the ship, causing it to move. The noise was incredible. Tingmell could only describe it like being in a hailstorm inside a metal box. Mercifully, it only lasted a few seconds.
After the spin was stopped and the noise pointed back to space, Dawnbreaker's main drive fired. At war emergency power, everyone onboard was subjected to punishing gee forces to boost the ship back into space. Tingmell thought that his bones were going to snap from the weight, but Dawnbreaker knew the limits of his passengers and kept the thrust right at the edge of what he could take.
After a few minutes, the thrust eased and Dawnbreaker spoke. "Attention. We have entered a safe - though low - orbit around the K'laxi homeworld. I apologize for any discomfort you may have experienced. I report no Xenni presence. In the name of preservation of my systems, I request War Emergency Power be suspended."
Captain Bennigan spoke. "I concur. Suspend War Emergency Power, set systems to standard power." the howl of this ship quieted to the low thrum Tingmell was more familiar with. Captain Bennigan sighed heavily and looked at Tingmell. "Well, we made it. How was your first trip through a wormhole?"
Now that the emergency was over, Tingmell could afford to be angry. "Captain Bennigan, it was fine except for the part where I died."
The captain looked at Tingmell with a soft, weary expression. "It happens to me too and I hate it every time. It may be a small consolation, but our philosophers keep arguing about whether it's actually death or just a hallucination as a side effect of cutting a hole through spacetime."
"That doesn't help."
"Yeah. Didn't help me first time I heard it too."

Patrat & Watchog
Patrat (#504)
Cynomyscuricata cynomyscuricata
General Information: Patrat the Scout Pokémon. This Pokémon lives in colonies where they use their tails to signal to each other when an enemy is near.
Patrats are about 1’8 feet (0.5 M) tall and weigh about 25.6 pounds (11.6 kg).
Habitat: Patrats live in the grasslands of the world, from the Americas to Africa to the Mongolian steppes of Asia. They are an incredibly diverse species with many sub-species/regional forms. They are tolerant to a wide range of temperatures and climates, and their burrows help protect them from all sorts of environmental threats such a wild fires, storms, flooding, hailstorms, blizzards, and such.
Life Cycles: Patrats are born anytime in the year in litters of 4-6 pups, where they will spend the first six weeks of their lives underground in their burrows until they are weaned. At five months old they are fully grown and become fully independent members of the colony. Like other Pokémon, they do not become reproductively mature until level 15.
When it’s time to mate, females like to leave the colony at night and find mates with males outside of their own colony, but there are some sub-species/regional variants that instead have a single male who mates with all the females in the colony. In these sorts of colonies, the male may be overthrown by a competing male and in this case.
Mating occurs in the winter when Patrats are busy hiding in their burrows.
When it’s time to raise pups, a mother Patrat may partake in communal nursing, but whether or not an individual will “accept” the motherless pups of another as their own, is an entirely individualized decision. The specific dynamics vary from region to region. Some mother Patrats have even been known to partake in infanticide of other mothers, with explanations that range from decreasing competition for her own pups, decreasing resource consumption for the pups, and perhaps so that the victimized mother is freed up to assist in rearing the other pups in the colony. Infanticide may also occur from incoming males in colonies with only one adult male, where the death of unweaned pups will cause the victimized mothers to enter estrus sooner. It’s a Patrat eat Patrat world :’) Patrats live for about a decade.
Adult male Patrats may leave the colony in search of a new home, though this may not be immediate.
Behavior: Patrats are incredibly cautious creatures that don’t feel safe unless someone is on look-out duty. They are hypersocial animals that get anxiety when isolated, and it is considered cruel to have a Patrat by itself in captivity. Their vocal calls are complex, using a sophisticated grammar system to describe specific predators, their size, number, distant, how fast it’s approaching, and non-predator related information. They have one of the most adept Pokémon languages in the world.
When a hawk (or similar) is alarmed, the Patrats will dive into their colony while those outside the danger range will stand and watch. Houndoom and Houndour (“Coyotes”) alarms cause the Patrats to emerge from their burrow and all stand watch together and observe the Houndoom/Houndour until it’s gone. Dogs trigger a similar response. Human alarms will cause above-ground members of the colony to hide in the burrow until the danger has passed. Their language is a focus of interest by scientists.
Diet: Patrats are mostly herbivorous but do sometimes eat insects. They particularly enjoy seeds, grasses, but will eat roots, fruit, tumblegrass, fescues, dandelions, saltbrush, cacti, and plant buds, too, depending on what’s available in their region.
In the fall they will eat broadleaf forbs (such as sunflowers). In the winter, lactating mothers will eat snow to increase their water intake.
Conservation: Threatened (varies globally)
Relationship with Humans: Patrats have a long, complicated history with humans. They are seen as vermin and nuisances and plague factories, resulting in many farmers who try to exterminate them. However, Patrats are vital to the ecosystems that they proliferate in, and the damage done by uncontrolled “weed” populations tends to far outweight the damage done by the Patrats.
Patrats are an uncommon starter for new trainers on the basis that even the municipalities that do give them out, require proof of at least two other Pokémon in the household that the Patrat will be going into. With that said, Patrats make great guard Pokémon due to their watch-dog skills. They can be trusted to warn the family or trainer of impending danger, making them great Pokémon to have on a Ranger’s team.
Classification: Patrat is known as Cynomyscuricata cynomyscuricata. “Cynomys” is the genus name for prairie dogs, and “scuriata” is a mutilation of “suricata”, the genus name for meerkats, with the “sc” sound coming from “sciuridae", the family name for squirrels and prairie dogs.
Watchog (#505)
Cynosmyscuricata luminostriatus
General Information: Watchog the Lookout Pokémon and the evolved form of Patrat. This Pokémon has eyes and stripes that glow, an ability used to threaten predators. A colony of Watchogs and Patrats, can also be called a mob.
Watchogs average at 3’7 feet (1.1 M) tall and weigh 59.5 pounds (27 kg).
Habitat: Watchogs live in the same places as Patrats. The burrows that they build with Patrats are several meters deep and several meters wide. There are anywhere from 6 to 15 openings to these burrows, a construction that provides the Watchogs and Patrats are a controlled micro-climate in the face of terrible weather, which is likely out on prairie or savannah that they live.
The territory of a colony us generally around 5 square kilometers or 2 square miles (roughly), but can get to as big as 15 square kilometers or 5-6 square miles (these sizes are rough estimates). These territories contain 20-50 individuals in a colony.
Life Cycles: Watchogs are the muscle of the mob, the ones who can do the most damage to invading threats. In regions where the colonies only have one male (which tend to be smaller than ones with multiple males), the male Watchogs will form bands with other males and scout for breeding females in their down time. Adult Watchogs may eventually leave the colony in pursuit of new colonies to call home, but some stick around to protect their kin.
Behavior: Watchogs are frequent, highly vigilant, surveyors of the territory, who readily warn their colony of incoming threats. They are vicious when it comes to threats, and are known to be ardent murderers of snakes. Fathers will stand guard over their colony’s pups while the mothers forage.
Diet: Watchogs can eat the same things as Patrats, but they become more omnivorous upon evolution. The older Watchogs in the mob will teach the younger ones how to carefully rip the stingers off of scorpions to eat them safely, and how to murder snakes. Watchogs eat far more bugs and insects than Patrats do, making them fieresome predators of these normally venomous and dangerous creatures.
Conservation: Threatened (varies Globally)
Relationship with Humans: Watchogs are highly intelligent and safety-prone Pokémon. They make excellent guardians of small livestock like chickens, and make great watch Pokémon for households and children. Local Safety Patrols will employ the aid of Watchogs, especially for crosswalks, intersections, broken traffic lights, and so forth. They are often paired with Rangers and put on the teams of search parties.
In the children’s cartoon Tuesdays with Turtwig, a Watchog guides traffic in town, using her glowing stripes and eyes as a stop sign. Watchogs are regularly associated with Safety Patrol type positions in society.
Classification: The species epithet for Watchog is luminostriatus which means “glowing stripes.”
Evolution: Watchog evolves from Patrat at level 20.

more personal notes for super long emperor difficulty conquest of elysium games (with baron)
use your strong early game economy to ballista/trebuchet stack; it doesn't take that many to make AI doomstacks allergic to your forts
libraries are your most desirable resources to hold; wizard mercenaries are your only source of late game power, items, and easy planar travel (via scrolls)
BUY EVERY ALCHEMIST; regardless of your present capability to utilize alchemy, they'll be safe in your invincible fort and will be super valuable later. they have items sometimes too. remember to upgrade them at lvl 2 libraries for regen/greater alchemy
if you do have alchemists, always have trading onto buying iron
halberdiers seem to be the most worthy of the iron infantry units mid-game; greatswords do similar damage to halberds but are far too expensive/situational, while pikemen can be bought in bulk via mercenary offers. regardless, spend iron wisely; siege engines and alchemy fodder are generally better uses for it than soldiers are
the celestial/primal/elemental plane access is very important to have; primal provides ample income from the settlements, the elemental nexus provides your lvl 3 library and void lords, and the earth plane provides earth gnomes/mountain champions
the win condition is getting a lvl 3 white wizard (for alter reality), a lvl 3 golden order/golden dawn/high magus (for army of gold), and a lvl 3 frost hag (for blizzard, hailstorm, and legion of ice). pairing the army-wide luck, armor, and resistances buffs will make all of your units painfully sturdy, largely unaffected by most of the chaff-destroying global/aoe spells, and it has fantastic synergy from alchemist regen buffs
assuming you have control of the elemental earth plane, the conditions above can enable you to take the divine castle in the celestial plane with relative ease; all you will need are a dozen or two earth gnomes, some mixture of ~200 lesser/greater earth elementals, a few HP-sponge frontliners with regeneration and either very high magic weapon damage/poison damage, and then your wizard corps. adding basic chaff to this equation will actively hurt you, as the battle will be drawn out to the point of your death via starvation. avoid big units here, as they will clog up the path through the castle walls
void lords (with lvl 2 spell invade mind) are great for swiping some really good units from the primal plane

A few days ago I had the terrible thought that in playing Stardew Valley I was engaging in the same pastoralism as Marie Antionette and the romantic art movement.
But I dare to say that I - that we do not.
Of course having a fun game to distract you from the existential dread of late stage capitalism is not a bad thing.
I also don't think that pastoralism is wholly bad either. It was patronizing af, but also understandable. During the industrial revolution this art recognized that whole industries were falling away, that livelyhoods were being destroyed and saw the alienation that working in a factory brought (See the Podcast It Could Happen Here on the Luddites).
I don't have a problem with Marie Antionette's toy cottage either. In a vacuum. Monarchy is the problem.
And Stardew Valley doesn't try to tell us that farm labour is somehow more pure or philosophically meaningful than other work. It's hard. You're broke. You never have enough time. Every piece of equipment that makes your chores easier is earned.
I'm especially fond of the time mechanic. Half a day to do your chores, hours to get into the village and then the person you wanted to talk to is nowhere to be found anyway. And everything is just so exhausting. Feels a little like living with autism honestly.
I have personal experience with a Streuobstwiese, a southern german style of supplementary farming that is basically just a meadow with some fruit trees and berry bushes. The idea is that you produce hay for some animals you may have (rabbits, chicken, goats) and that you sell the fruit for profit to the local beverage company. Also maybe a vegetable garden and a place to spend summers with the family.
It was hard work. It was unsatisfying work. We were at the mercy of forces beyond our control. It could only ever be extra income because we could never depend on it producing anything at all.
I see a glimse of that hardship in Stardew Valley. Even if it's a game around fun and achievement, where plants generally grow as they're suppost to, there are no heatwaves or hailstorms that kill a whole regions harvest and you don't have to use pesicides to keep the worms out of your apples.
Anyway, that's just my thoughts. I'm fairly new to Stardew Valley, so it's possible I misunderstood the messaging.
Also there's something to be said how much about what we spend our free time with is about our longing for unalienated labour. I may come back to this.

Indianapolis Public Adjusters Find This After Disaster
Indianapolis Public Adjusters play an important role in helping businesses and homeowners navigate the complex process of insurance claims, particularly those related to fire, water damage, and other disasters. These professionals have uncovered numerous claims in the Indianapolis area, showcasing the importance of their expertise in ensuring fair settlements for policyholders. Here's an overview of some typical claims found by Indianapolis Public Adjusters:
Fire Damage Claims: Fire-related claims are among the most common and complex cases handled by Indianapolis Public Adjusters. In one notable case, a public adjuster assisted a local manufacturing facility that suffered extensive fire damage. The initial offer from the insurance company only covered visible structural damage. However, the public adjuster's thorough investigation revealed significant smoke damage to sensitive equipment and inventory that wasn't immediately apparent. This discovery led to a settlement nearly double the original offer, allowing the business to fully recover and resume operations.
Water Damage and Mold Claims: Indianapolis's varying weather patterns, from heavy rains to winter storms, often lead to water damage claims. Public adjusters have found numerous cases where initial assessments overlooked long-term effects of water intrusion. In one residential claim, a public adjuster identified hidden mold growth resulting from a burst pipe. The insurance company's initial offer only covered the immediate water damage, but the adjuster's findings led to a comprehensive remediation plan, protecting the homeowner's health and property value.
Storm Damage Claims: Severe storms, including tornadoes and hailstorms, frequently impact Indianapolis. Public adjusters have been instrumental in identifying widespread damage that property owners might miss. For instance, after a major hailstorm, a public adjuster working with a commercial property owner discovered significant damage to the building's HVAC system that wasn't visible from the ground. This finding substantially increased the claim's value, ensuring proper repairs could be made.
Business Interruption Claims: Indianapolis Public Adjusters have proven particularly valuable in complex business interruption claims. In one case involving a popular local restaurant forced to close due to a kitchen fire, the initial insurance offer only covered a fraction of the lost income. The public adjuster's detailed analysis of financial records and market conditions resulted in a settlement that fully compensated the business for its losses during the closure and slow recovery period.
Hidden Damage Claims: Public adjusters often uncover hidden damages that significantly impact claim values. In an apartment complex claim following a severe storm, the insurance company's assessment focused on obvious roof damage. However, the public adjuster's comprehensive inspection revealed water intrusion had compromised the building's electrical systems and insulation. This discovery not only increased the settlement amount but also prevented potential future issues for residents.
Underinsurance Situations: Indianapolis Public Adjusters have frequently encountered situations where properties were significantly underinsured. In one case involving a historic downtown building, the property's insurance coverage hadn't been updated in years. After a major fire, the public adjuster's evaluation showed the true replacement cost was nearly double the insured amount. While this situation couldn't increase coverage retroactively, it led to a maximized settlement within policy limits and helped the owner update their coverage for the future.
Code Upgrade Claims: Many property owners are unaware that bringing a damaged building up to current codes can significantly increase repair costs. Indianapolis Public Adjusters have successfully argued for including these expenses in numerous claims. For example, after a fire in an older commercial building, a public adjuster ensured that the settlement covered the costs of mandatory electrical and accessibility upgrades, which the insurance company initially resisted.
Contents Claims: Accurately valuing damaged personal property or business contents can be challenging. Indianapolis Public Adjusters have helped countless claimants receive fair compensation for these losses. In one residential case, a public adjuster's detailed inventory and valuation of smoke-damaged antiques and artwork resulted in a settlement several times higher than the insurance company's initial offer.
Agricultural Claims: Given Indiana's strong agricultural sector, Indianapolis Public Adjusters have also handled complex farm-related claims. In one instance, a public adjuster working on a claim for a grain storage facility damaged by high winds discovered that the damage had led to contamination of stored crops. This finding significantly expanded the scope of the claim, ensuring the farmer was compensated not just for structural repairs but also for crop losses.
These cases highlight the valuable role Indianapolis Public Adjusters play in the claims process. Their expertise often leads to more comprehensive assessments of damage, identification of overlooked losses, and ultimately fairer settlements for policyholders. While not every claim requires the services of a public adjuster, their involvement can be particularly beneficial in complex or high-value cases where the full extent of losses may not be immediately apparent.

Reasons To Buy More Coverage of Auto Insurance in Massapequa and Deer Park, NY
Operating a business as a contractor or an individual worker can be risky. The extent of financial risks is accentuated when one has to carry essential tools and other self-owned products to a distant site. No worries! The said worker can always buy builders risk insurance in Farmingdale and Queens, NY, to mitigate the financial losses that may be hard to cover. This special type of property insurance covers all unforeseen incidents resulting in financial risks. While the coverage is often used to remain protected when a construction project is on, the details may seem to perplex the insured. Forgoing to carry this insurance can be disastrous in financial terms. The insurance can be safely likened to the backbone of a construction project that requires protection every step of the way.
Sure, business owners, especially those in the construction industry, are eager to know whether this insurance coverage applies to them. It suffices to know that any individual engaged in construction projects regularly will consider such insurance coverage to be indispensable. People who belong to any of the following categories must buy the requisite builders' risk insurance coverage:
· Property owner · General contractor · Subcontractor · Investor · Architect
The perils that are almost always included in the coverage of the insurance plan are:-
· Fire · Hailstorm · Lightning · Thunderstorm · Explosions · Theft · Vandalism · Other Acts of God or natural disasters
It is further necessary to understand that the insurance coverage will not only protect the structure under construction but will be extended to the following:-
· Construction Materials · Supplies for the project · Equipment used on-site, during transit, or at other locations
The coverage usually includes damage to the property/structure under construction. The policy may include coverage for additional damage requiring expenses that are not directly related to the construction. Moreover, the compensation may also be paid by the insurance company due to unexpected delays of the project resulting in:
· Loss due to lost sales opportunity · Rental income · Increased or extra interest on loans · Real estate taxes
While all of this sounds pleasing to the insured party, it is essential to remember that the coverage may be extended to include additional constructions, namely the following:-
· Construction Forms · Scaffolding · Other Temporary Structures · Debris Removal And Disposal During Loss · Cleanup Of Pollutant
One must also be well aware of the exclusions, as the insurance coverage will not be valid in situations that are not mentioned in the insurance document. The most critical exclusions that need to be noted include:
· Damage due to faulty design · Wear and tear · Employee theft · Rust and corrosion · Mechanical breakdowns · Flawed Planning · Low Workmanship and materials · Responsibility of Engineers · Acts of terrorism and war
Purchase of home insurance in Brooklyn and Queens, NY, is mandatory, but one cannot be satisfied by opting for the basic coverage. Instead, it is prudent to connect with an independent insurance company that can help one make the right decision.

I'm not sure what really happened.
All I heard was a rumble and crash, followed by most of the people on the boat beginning to panic.
I immediately looked for Cherry and Frost. And I had picked up Cocoa, too. I knew she was another Pokemon that was potentially in danger, and I didn't want to leave her behind to get hurt.
We all headed to the main deck, and there was another ship beside us, too far to just jump to, not even with the boost Work Up gives. On the ship was... Team Plasma. Again.
Why? What do they want from us? Why can't they leave us alone?
As if they had heard my thoughts, one of them spoke up, from under their mask. "We're here to take back what's ours! He's the thing we need to continue our plans of achieving true liberation!"
...As much as I didn't want to admit it, I understood what he had meant. I froze in my tracks, trying to process... everything. I ran away years ago... I thought I was safe... Didn't I go through enough?
By the time I had regathered my senses, Cherry and Frost were already in the heat of combat. Cherry had already begun flying to the other ship, using Dragon Pulse and Bulldoze to ensure that she was able to close the gap between her and them, and Frost was playing defense, using a combination Mirror Coat and what I assume was Ice Beam to create a massive wall of ice to defend against any incoming attacks. I knew that I had to do something, too.
I racked my brain, trying to come up with something, anything I can do with my current abilities. I had Water Pulse as my strongest long-range option... But I had no idea how far it could go, and it wasn't like I was good at it, anyway. I could also use Slash if I had to, but that meant I'd have to sacrifice one of my seamitars, no matter how briefly. I can't afford losing either of them in a situation like this...
Actually thinking about what I had learned up to this point... made me realize just how useless I am to this crew. But I couldn't think about that now. It was getting more difficult for Cherry to defend against Plasma's Pokemon, apparently including some of the ones that were on our boat, and it wasn't going to be long until we were completely overpowered.
I set Cocoa down next to Frost, and climbed the ice wall he had created, using Work Up twice to double my base strength. If I could reach Cherry's location and get rid of the source of the problem, that should give us enough breathing room to clean up shop. This is going to be a risky maneuver, and I'll probably be put out of commission after this... But as long as I can get in good enough hits as soon as I get there, that shouldn't matter.
I planted my feet into the ice, starting a Revenge attack. I made sure to transfer the energy from that move from my arms down to my legs... and I leaped.
I immediately felt the consequences of such a careless strategy. The lower half of my body was met with an excruciating pain, and with the combination of Revenge and the strength boost of Work Up, I knew for a fact I had broken at least one of of my legs, if not both.
As I soared through the air, though, I heard a voice behind me. One that I really didn't want to hear right now.
"Guy, WAIT-"
I turned back, and I saw Frost shouting at me. I say saw, because he was interrupted by the loud whirring of the wind. I knew what that meant.
Frost opened his mouth and actually spoke. And now, we have to realize the hard way why he tried to avoid this.
I instantly felt the temperature around me drop. An intense hailstorm had started, roaring thunder and everything, throwing everyone off, including myself for a short bit.
But I had to focus. I used Aqua Jet for one final push, and I had finally made it to the opposing ship. But I still had to think of a landing. There was a Zangoose under me, preparing a Slash of its own. Talk about unfair.
Remembering that I still had the Work Up boosts, I used Revenge one more time to kick them away. They had blocked it by using Slash, and countered my attack by using Shadow Claw, hitting me across my face. Screw me, I guess, now that leg is completely useless, and I'm taking unnecessary damage. 3 limbs to use left...
I used Slash to get the Zangoose out of the way, and began moving to what I assume were the main problems... Two Plasma grunts, only one of which being a Trainer... odd.
I chased down the Trainer's Scrafty, and used Fury Cutter to make quick work of them, and the following Palpitoad.
...However, it all seemed to be a distraction from the second grunt, who had... an Ultra Ball?! I thought those things were stupid-expensive, do they just give them to anyone now?!
And with the look in that grunt's eyes, I knew exactly who they were aiming for.
I can't let them throw it!
In a desperate attempt to intercept the throw, I rushed towards the grunt. But I forgot about my injury, and stumbled to the ground as a result. I slid just out of range to grab his ankle. Not like it would matter. He had already thrown it, and it was was going to hit Frost, right in his face.
"FROST, LOOK OUT!"
They had turned around just in time to open their jaws... just for the Ultra Ball to land directly in it. There was a flash, and the next thing we saw was the lone ball on the ground. It shook once...
...Twice...
Three times...
...
...And just like that, it was done. Frost... had been captured.
Another friend... Gone, potentially forever.
All I could do was scream, "FROOOOST!", as a Lycanroc chucked the Ultra Ball back to the grunt, before I was filled to the brim with anger. with Team Plasma... at myself... Why couldn't I save anyone? Why does everyone get hurt whenever I get involved?!
...It's happening. It's happening again. I couldn't do anything. I was too quickly losing consciousness, and all I saw was red... And there was no one to do anything about it this time.
help me...

Tips For Buying Affordable Business Insurance in Chandler and Oklahoma City, OK
Running a business successfully can ensure profitability and peace of mind. It is vital to consider keeping the business well secure and make provisions to have all financial risks covered. Buying the right insurance coverage can help. Unfortunately, there are too many insurance companies vying for customers today. Trying to pick and choose the best possible Coverage can become a challenge eventually. It is essential to check the associated facts to decide on affordable business insurance in Chandler and Oklahoma City, OK.
Some of the aspects that bear close contemplation before agreeing to the terms & conditions of insurance include the following-
Types of Coverage
Varied insurance carriers provide multiple types of coverage. Not all of them apply to every business, either. It is best to check the premium rates and the benefits offered before settling for one or the other insurance policy. Admittedly, no single coverage will do for the business entity. It thus makes sense to consider a business owner's policy (BOP). This is a bundled-up coverage that includes three distinct types of compensation, namely:
· Commercial Property Insurance- This type of Coverage has the insurance carrier providing compensation for any physical assets that are stolen, damaged, or destroyed. This is alternatively known as business property insurance
· General Liability Insurance- This Coverage will protect the business owner from liabilities claimed for bodily injuries, property damage, copyright infringement, harm to one's reputation, and advertisement injuries. The carrier will compensate for the settlement and pay all legal costs for liability suits
· Business Interruption insurance- Also known as business income insurance, this helps one to recover the income lost due to any of the covered perils. A business closed due to fire damage or thunderstorm may claim insurance to continue receiving some income when the business remains shut.
The business owner is expected to buy Workers' Compensation to help the employees who are injured on the job. The state mandates this, and every business that employs at least one worker needs to provide this assistance to the workforce.
Physical Assets That May Be Covered By Insurance
A business establishment may operate out of a self-owned property. The insurance coverage will include protection for any of the following physical structures:
· rented or owned building
· Outdoor fixtures (such as fences and signs)
· Equipment
· Furniture
· Personal property
· Supplies
· Computers
· Inventory
· Business records
· Coverage includes damage/destruction
Not all kinds of damages are accepted by the insurance carrier. The business owner can claim damages when the physical business assets are affected by any of the following:
· High wind/thunderstorm
· Lightning
· Hailstorm
· Fire
· Theft
· Vandalism
Who Needs BOP?
Almost all small business owners find bundling up three distinct Coverage to be advantageous for them. The following business operators benefit from BOP coverage:
· Retail shops
· Restaurants.
· Landlords of apartment buildings.
· Owners of Warehouses
· Condo associations.
· Wholesalers
It is not impossible to find affordable business insurance in Chandler and Oklahoma City, OK, though. Connecting with an independent insurance agency can help get the best insurance coverage suited to one's needs.

Weathering the Storm: How Farm Insurance in Omaha and Bellevue Helps Farmers , NE Mitigate Risks
Farming is an age-old profession that requires dedication, hard work, and a profound connection to the land. Farmers in Omaha and Bellevue, NE, face numerous challenges, one of which is the unpredictable and often harsh weather conditions that can wreak havoc on their livelihoods. From severe storms to droughts and everything in between, these weather-related risks can devastate farms. With the right farm insurance in Omaha and Bellevue, NE, farmers can mitigate these risks and protect their businesses and livelihoods.
Understanding Farm Insurance
Farm insurance is a specialized type of insurance that is designed to cater to the unique needs of farmers and their agricultural operations. It covers various aspects of farming, including property damage, crop loss, liability, and more. For farmers in Omaha and Bellevue, where weather-related risks are prevalent, having adequate farm insurance is essential to safeguard against potential losses.
Protection Against Property Damage
One of the primary concerns for farmers during severe weather events is property damage. High winds, hailstorms, and tornadoes can cause significant destruction to farm buildings, equipment, and machinery. Repairing or replacing these essential assets can be financially burdensome. Farm insurance offers coverage for property damage caused by such weather events, allowing farmers to recover and get back on their feet more quickly.
Crop Insurance for Ensuring Harvest Security
Crop failure due to adverse weather conditions is a nightmare for any farmer. Droughts, floods, and other extreme weather events can lead to substantial losses in crop yields. Crop insurance provides financial protection against these risks, compensating farmers for lost income when weather-related factors adversely affect their crops. With crop insurance, farmers can rest assured that their hard work won't go in vain, even in the face of challenging weather conditions.
Liability Coverage for Peace of Mind
Farming operations often involve certain risks, including accidents and injuries to visitors or employees. Liability insurance is crucial in protecting farmers from potential lawsuits and legal claims arising from such incidents. Additionally, farm insurance can include coverage for liability related to chemical applications, which is particularly important for farms that use pesticides or herbicides. This coverage protects farmers from the financial consequences of unexpected accidents or incidents.
Livestock Coverage
Livestock farming comes with its own set of risks. Extreme weather conditions can lead to stress, injury, or even death of livestock. Farm insurance can provide coverage for livestock, compensating farmers for losses incurred due to weather-related events, diseases, and accidents. This coverage allows farmers to focus on the well-being of their animals without worrying about potential financial setbacks.
Business Interruption Coverage
After a severe weather event, farms may face disruptions in their day-to-day operations. Business interruption coverage under farm insurance can help offset the financial losses incurred during the downtime. This coverage ensures that farmers have the necessary funds to cover ongoing expenses and maintain their businesses while they recover from weather-related setbacks.
Risk Management and Long-Term Sustainability
Farm insurance is about recovering from losses, effective risk management, and long-term sustainability. By investing in comprehensive farm insurance, farmers in Omaha and Bellevue can proactively protect their businesses against potential weather-related risks. With the peace of mind that comes from having the right coverage in place, farmers can focus on implementing sound agricultural practices and making informed decisions for the future of their farms.
Farming in Omaha and Bellevue, NE, is a resilient and rewarding profession, but it comes with inherent risks, especially those posed by unpredictable weather conditions. Farm insurance is vital in mitigating these risks and safeguarding farmers' livelihoods. Farm insurance offers comprehensive protection for agricultural operations, from property damage and crop losses to liability concerns and livestock coverage, much like commercial insurance in Omaha and Bellevue, NE, that keeps commercial space owners covered in case of loss and risks.

Weather-Based Crop Insurance : Protecting Farmers from Climate Change
Farmers face major obstacles as a result of climate change, which affects both crop and livestock output. Changes in weather patterns, water availability, and growing seasons, as well as increasing vulnerability to catastrophic events, destabilise agricultural systems and undermine food security. Farmers require strong protective measures to handle these issues. Weather-based crop insurance can help farmers by offering financial assistance based on weather-related risks. This blog examines the advantages of weather-based crop insurance and discusses how to use it to shield farmers from the effects of climate change.
Understanding Weather-Based Crop Insurance:
A novel strategy for giving farmers financial protection against weather-related hazards is weather-based crop insurance. As opposed to conventional crop insurance, it streamlines the claims procedure and enables quicker payment by using pre-determined weather indicators to decide payouts. The importance of accurate weather data cannot be overstated in this context, as it forms the basis for determining insurance payouts. Reliable and accurate meteorological data guarantees fair and objective judgements, lowering the likelihood of disagreements and ensuring prompt assistance for farmers when they need it most.
Weather-based crop insurance is a cutting-edge method for providing farmers with financial security against weather-related risks. By using predetermined meteorological indications to determine compensation, it streamlines the claim procedure and enables quicker payment than traditional crop insurance. It is hard to minimise the importance of correct meteorological information in this situation because it serves as the base for calculating insurance claims. Meteorological data that is trustworthy and precise ensures fair and objective decisions, reducing the possibility of conflicts, and assuring quick help for farmers when they need it most.
In the following sections of this blog, we will go deeper into the other main aspects linked to weather-based crop insurance, analysing its benefits, problems, implementation tactics, and possible role in protecting farmers from the effects of climate change.
Benefits of Weather-Based Crop Insurance:
Farmers can benefit greatly from crop insurance dependent on weather. As a crucial safety net for their investments in agriculture, it offers financial security against weather-related risks like droughts, floods, hailstorms, and excessive temperatures. The stability it offers protects farmers’ livelihoods and earnings, minimising variations in income brought on by erratic weather patterns. Furthermore, crop insurance based on weather encourages farmers to use climate-smart techniques and technology, such as better irrigation and soil conservation, resulting in more resilient farming systems. It also supports higher productivity and environmentally friendly practises by encouraging long-term investments in agriculture. Weather-based crop insurance supports food security, lowers the volatility in food production, and promotes rural development by protecting farmers’ incomes. Overall, weather-based crop insurance is essential for protecting farmers’ financial security, promoting environmentally friendly farming methods, and guaranteeing the stability and adaptability of agricultural systems in the face of climate change.
Improved Risk Assessment and Management:
A number of advantages exist for farmers in the face of climate change from enhanced risk assessment and management techniques in agriculture. Accurate risk analysis enables the creation of specialised risk management strategies by helping farmers recognise and comprehend certain hazards. Farmers can improve the distribution of resources, reduce risk, and develop toughness by taking proactive actions. The ability for farmers to make educated decisions based on possible risks and their effects helps with financial planning. This promotes access to appropriate insurance protection and financial tools that guard against weather-related losses and ensure financial stability. Additionally, better risk management and assessment techniques support capacity building within agricultural communities and knowledge exchange. Farmers may benefit from one another’s experiences, adopt best practises, and improve their capacity for risk management. The general hardiness and sustainability of agricultural systems are aided by this body of knowledge.
In the end, more effective risk assessment and management techniques aid in the growth of stable and profitable agriculture. Farmers may increase production, practise environmentally friendly resource usage, and guarantee the long-term sustainability of their operations in the face of climate change by reducing risks.
In conclusion, adopting better risk assessment and management techniques equips farmers to successfully traverse the issues brought on by climate change, protect their way of life, and support a more resilient and sustainable agricultural sector.
Encouraging Resilience and Adaptation:
Weather-based crop insurance is a significant motivator for farmers to adopt climate-resilient agricultural practises, boosting stability and flexibility to changing weather patterns. It encourages farmers to use drought-tolerant seeds, practise conservation tillage, implement precision irrigation systems, adopt agricultural forestry practises, and use crop diversification strategies by offering financial protection against weather-related risks such as droughts, floods, hailstorms, and extreme temperatures.
Farmers are able to improve resource efficiency, lessen their impact on the environment, and improve their capacity to deal with the problems brought by climate change thanks to this proactive strategy. Weather-based crop insurance not only assists farmers in risk management but also adds to the long-term sustainability of agriculture by encouraging the implementation of climate-smart solutions.
Weather-based crop insurance promotes sustainable agriculture through the adoption of climate-resilient practises by providing long-term food security, enhancing toughness, and supporting the adaptation of farming systems to changing climatic circumstances. It encourages farmers to make wise investments in cutting-edge technologies that can increase productivity and reduce environmental concerns, such as precision farming tools, soil moisture sensors, and weather monitoring systems.
Weather-based crop insurance not only protects farmers’ livelihoods but also supports rural development, encourages environmental sustainability, and helps the world’s efforts to mitigate the effects of climate change by offering financial stability and encouraging climate-smart practises.
Weather-based crop insurance is critical for motivating farmers to adopt climate-resilient agricultural practises. It encourages the use of drought-tolerant crops, conservation tillage, precise irrigation, and other climate-smart practises by offering financial protection. Weather-based crop insurance encourages sustainable agriculture, improves resilience, and aids farmers in adjusting to the challenges of a changing climate by encouraging the adoption of these practises.
Government Support and Policy Implications:
The adoption and efficacy of weather-based crop insurance are significantly influenced by governmental support and policy outcomes. Governments can create an atmosphere that encourages farmers to engage in insurance programmes and reduces the financial barriers associated with coverage by enacting supporting legislation and providing subsidies.
Successful case studies from all across the world show the benefits of programmes supported by the government. The Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana in India, for instance, has demonstrated notable effectiveness in boosting farmer participation, lowering financial burdens, and improving resilience to climate hazards. These case studies demonstrate the positive effects that government assistance can have on rural areas by giving them the tools and resources they need to deal with weather-related concerns.
Governments, insurance companies, and farmers must work together effectively for weather-based crop insurance to be implemented. Governments should collaborate closely with insurance providers to provide specialised insurance policies that address the unique needs of farmers and provide coverage for a variety of weather risks. Additionally, they can make it easier to gather and disseminate precise weather data, which will help insurance companies calculate just payouts.
Additionally, it is essential to increase knowledge of weather-based crop insurance and make sure that farmers are aware of its advantages and procedures through outreach and education programmes. Governments may enable farmers to take control of risk management and boost their climate change resilience by fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Weather-based crop insurance must have strong support from the government in the form of laws, subsidies, and cooperative initiatives with farmers and insurance companies. These actions improve resilience, provide financial security, and support agricultural systems’ sustainability. Governments may safeguard farmers’ livelihoods, boost food security, and encourage agriculture’s long-term viability in the face of shifting weather patterns by supporting these programmes.
In conclusion, weather-based crop insurance is an essential instrument for shielding farmers from the effects of climate change. It stabilises farmer earnings and protects their livelihoods by providing financial assurance against weather-related risks. Additionally, it encourages the development of climate-smart practises, fostering agricultural sustainability and resilience. Weather-based crop insurance can be a key factor in achieving widespread adoption and successful application with government backing and cooperative efforts. By adopting this strategy, we can safeguard farmers, improve food security, and create a more climate-resilient agricultural industry.
