"Your first muse"

Is there such a thing? I've found drabble-worthy inspiration from characters in various forms of media my entire life (I remember writing about Cliff Secord from The Rocketeer when I was very young), but I'm genuinely not sure I could name the first one whose perspective I chose to envision and put to paper or screen.

However, I'm going to assume this question is asking about a muse for RP, and I believe my first one in that realm was... Ryou Bakura, from the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series. This was actually before my days of RP'ing through LiveJournal, or even the girlfriend who had nudged me into that. This was in the olden days of AOL Instant Messenger and ICQ. I'd met a fan of my writing who then introduced me to the notion of online RP.

Knowing what I know now, this is not the fandom I would have chosen for myself as my first foray into that realm, nor is it the character I would have selected.

The Ren — Love as Religion

usually, red lights flashing were never a good sign - universally speaking. combine that with some alarm blaring and that just meant trouble altogether. doors to nyota's quarters slide open and she peeks out into the long, white hallway. eerily quiet. except for the alarm, of course, and some hasty footsteps echoing in the distance. was she supposed to stay here ? should she go looking for someone ? were they abandoning ship ? she's done the whole sitting and waiting thing before and that hadn't worked out so now the girl steps out into the hall. glance left, glance right. she decides to turn right and make a run for it until she eventually ends up on another floor where things are much less calm. a mass of people running all different directions, several voices overlap as they shout. somewhere in the midst of it, she spots uhura and hurried steps carry her through the crowd, struggling to get through as people keep cutting her off. " mom ! "

"Another RPC you're part of" & "Another RPC you're no longer part of"

The first one's a bit tough to define. I'm not currently a member of any other community which encourages narrative roleplay the way this one does. But I suppose I could say I'm part of the Dungeons & Dragons community? I've played D&D for the last 12 or 13 years, cut my teeth on 3.5, and I've had a blast with live play RP ever since. I currently serve as a Dungeon Master for a 5th edition campaign, which we run primarily as a text-based adventure, so there's a lot of expository writing from everyone involved.

The second one... hrm. Okay, I used to do RP through LiveJournal. Back then, I was heavily involved in Yu-Gi-Oh! roleplay. Nowadays, I'm really glad I portray adults and only RP with other adults, because that was an absolute breeding ground (nasty pun intended) for minors getting involved in inappropriate situations. I was part of that community largely due to encouragement from my ex-girlfriend, but became increasingly uncomfortable with it as time went on and ultimately dropped out.
