      ELEANOR’S GOTTEN BOLD. Though the stuttering mess Ruby had once reduced her to with little more than a look is definitely still in there, she also does a lot more than just stutter now. Ruby had remembered that when she shimmied into a tight dress this morning, one that left little to the imagination – so she’s unsurprised to find fingernails digging into her hips seconds after Eleanor lays eyes on her, drawing her in closer, lips claiming her own.

       RUBY LETS HER LEAD THIS MOMENT, lets soft hands push her down to the couch and slim legs straddle her own, lets commanding fingers run through her hair and tug. When Eleanor finally pulls back, she catches crimson suddenly smeared across unpainted lips just as the other woman’s fingers rise to her own, tips carefully cleaning now-messy edges. They shift up to her hair, then down to the hem of her dress as Eleanor pulls her back to her feet, smoothing both down to near perfection. Once she’s back in order enough to walk out the door, Ruby grins wolfishly, leaning down to press a kiss to the smaller woman’s cheek. “Thanks babe.” (Unlike Eleanor, she doesn’t try to wipe away the stain it leaves behind.)

          ❝ oh, eleanor! ❞ tahani called out, immediately grabbing her pot of frozen-yoghurt from the table and expertly navigating the pavement with her wedged heels. ❝ you are just the person i was looking for! ❞ a bright smile grew across her face as she caught up to the blonde and brushed down her dress. ❝ i was thinking and, as i’m sure you’re aware, daniel and patrice are planning on getting married next week. i thought, considering we’re their closest neighbours, it would be a wonderful idea for both of us to throw them an engagement party. ❞ of course, there was no need for an excuse for tahani to throw any sort of party, but considering her last soirée had been somewhat of a disaster her confidence in the planning area was somewhat lacking. ❝ now, i have a lot of experience. a certain british model and her action movie actor fiancé were more than pleased with the one i threw for them. but i knew rosie. she was practically my other half. now patrice... she’s quite the tough nut to crack. and i’m in frightful need of a little assistance. ❞

Alex had already had enough of the so called good place. Even if she hadn’t been aware of its true purpose, the presence of vegan ice cream would have been enough to tip her off to the fact that it wasn’t a good place at all.

The simulation was good though. She couldn’t see anything to give away the fact that she wasn’t actually dead, wasn’t actually in hell. And yet, as she stood in the neighbourhood - her neighbourhood - her arms folded as she took everything in. Perfect green grass, sun beating down at a perfect temperature, everything just so perfect it was almost too good to be true, she reminded herself that it was. She had a purpose, and that was to get herself and everyone else out of there.

Her first port of call was to find Eleanor. By far the smartest of the subjects, and one that she believed could get the others to listen to her and to believe her. Finding her had been easy, but Alex was finding approaching her difficult. She couldn’t quite find the words to explain to Eleanor that everything she had been told wasn’t true. She wasn’t even dead, let alone in The Good Place. 

She watched Eleanor from a distance and took a deep breath as she started to move towards her, deciding on the best way to start. She titled her head to one side as she thought about the fact that she was a deo agent, knew every fighting technique in existence and could easily use any weapon that was handed to her. She could handle this. This, compared to everything else she had ever done would be easy. 

As she neared Eleanor she unfolded her arms, took another deep breath and planted a smile on her face. “Hi. I don’t think we’ve,” Suddenly more nervous than she had expected to be, or really should have been, Alex bowed her head slightly and scratched behind her ear. “I’m Alex.”
