real nerd gamer talk but. reading the comments on steam for the latest Hades II patch… wow. people are very rude. To a small indie studio who is honestly doing amazing work.

Also the people claiming certain aspects of the current version make it unplayable.... idk get better I guess? It's also okay to admit something is hard and you can't do it?

Hmgngnhmgmh okay being a little freak rn but one of my favourite details in hades 2 is in ephyra and it relates to two things:

1. The pose that heracles’ model has (forgive the low quality I had to get these screenshots from a video lol)

2. The statue of hades that’s in the background

The first thing my nerdy ass noticed about both of these was “OH MY GOD LIKE THE STATUE!!!!!”

This is the farnese hercules and it depicts heracles leaning on his club (draped in the nemean lion skin) and unseen behind his back he is holding the apples of the hesperides

This, quite recognizably, is a stature of hades. He’s missing one arm similar to the one in the game, and to his right (our left) is cerberus, which is reverse to the statue in game. Here he holds his bident but unfortunately it’s missing the “bi” part so it just looks like a staff

I don’t really know where I’m going with this I just thought that it was cool that supergaint games took inspiration from real art :)

omg yes! ( especially now that I have glasses therefore actually see where the foes are vs. button mashing like an confused virgin lol)

I haven’t finished it since I am waiting for the full release before i do but here have a wild fan theory of mine if you don’t mind spoilers, gonna put it under the ‘keep reading’

I think Ares is working with Charon. I find it very odd that his symbolic bird working as foe against Mel. I dunno if it willing or unwilling but damn wouldn’t that be the sickest fight ever!

What other fandoms are you in? Any Anime or Games that you like?

Well, honestly, I have a distant relationship with Fandom. I tend to just carve out my little niches.

I think part of that I'm a BIG O COMICS FAN. And the is a rough fandom that I don't like interacting with because I don't think it's enough of talking about the *art* of comic making and more about how your fave is better than everyone else. Minus 10 points if your favorite is Batman and you think Batman could be everyone. With that, you may have noticed I'm a Big Jason Todd reader. And while I'm staying away from main line continuity right now, I just picked up Robin Lives #2.

But Also I need to pick up the second volume of My Favorite Thing is Monsters (Please please ask me about this comic it's so good)

Anime wise, I haven't kept up today. I watched first season of Demon slayer. But that's about as recent as I got. I do really love the classic though Sailor Moon (And a lot of magical girl stuff), Space Pirate Captain Harlock (mostly anything Leiji Matsumoto but Harlock was is a special interest of mine Like I hunted SSX and I own a DVD of the 97 series as well has having the ZIV dub) and Black Jack are the things I can think off the top of my head.

Games I've been playing a tone of Coral Island recently. By that, It shouldn't be a surprise, I've played a lot of (modded) Stardew and Animal Crossing. But If you to really get me going, any Supergiant Games Game. Particularly Hades and Pyre. Pyre is one of those games I can't recommend… Because it feels specifically made for me with 1) an amazing story and 2) 3 on 3 basketball. That bit's not a joke. That's actually gameplay. And I'm not playing Hades 2 yet because Supergaint's Stories are so good. I'm happy with just waiting for the full release.

IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL AND TELLS US SO MUCH ABOUT THEIR RELATIONSHIP OH MY GOD.

Because like. Melinoë and Selene's hands and heads are nearly touching they are SO close to each other.

With any other God Melinoë has the same sprite-and she look like she is praying to some higher being and the light of the Boon barely changes Melinoë's sprite.

But with this picture-Selene is RIGHT THERE. WITH HER. IN REACH. Selene is not some distant goddess on a mountain top or some higher being Melinoë has to respect even if she's never met them. Selene is right there-lighting Melinoë's immediate pathway and showing her ways she can go.

Selene promised Melinoë she would light the way for her Silver Sister and help her as long as she has the strength to do so, even regardless of her phase. Even the pose Selene has shows this-From Melinoë's angle we can see it's like Selene is giving something a gentle push into Melinoë's hand. Selene's Hexes give Melinoë gentle encouragement and show her the way. Yes, Melinoë has to pick her Hex and learn its' uses herself-but Selene is giving her what she needs to move forward. And from Selene's angle-it looks like she's about to take Melinoë's hand, as if to catch Melinoë if she falls.

And the same goes for Melinoë too!! Melinoë seems a lot more relaxed with Selene, especially compared to the other gods. Instead of a more prayful gesture Melinoë is just offering a single hand as if asking for Selene to come down and accepting what she has to offer. Melinoë is asking for help, yes-but she doesn't have to pray or offer a sacrifice for it. Melinoë knows that she can count on Selene because Selene is right there with her.

I saw some clips from the movie I think? Odysseus cried before his mom really got me there. And yeah the whole underworld part is when I started to doubt that ody may lied about some details, the version I read was that Achilles told Odysseus he would rather live a life as farmer working in the fields than being died, like,really??? And the part Ajax’s still mad at him, that’s definitely not a lie, he deserved it.

Yep Odysseus’s revenge is most likely to happen, to be fair Constantine does similar irresponsible things all the time and eventually all of those things gonna come back and kick his ass one day, and he deserves it and gets used to it too. He probably just be “well worse things could happen”.

And I’m really not sure if hades 2 ody is Indian or not, cuz skin tone really doesn’t matter much in hades games, like the case with Athena and Apollo ( seriously Apollo and Artemis are twins they can’t be so different from each other). And I just love the character designs, Odysseus brings lots of maps with him just the bonus, boy if gods gonna make you lost again there’s really nothing you can do about it. And they made him broke up with Penelope WHY just WHYYYIE🫠 If supergaint has to take her away from the game can we at least have Diomedes or other Iliad character back🫠

It’s quite funny that John’s and Odysseus’s past are always so close behind, and there’re more than one skeletons hidden in their closets.

The difference is Constantine’s used to be haunted by his dead friends and would let them die AGAIN cuz of his arrogance, and he’s having a good time down in the underworld. Odysseus on the other hand, He wept as he drove away relatives and friends shades who wanted to eat sheep's blood with his sword( and let’s not forget he tried to hug his mom three times, THREE TIMES, yeah Agamemnon tried to hug him too but failed), and gonna have panic attacks and mental meltdown.

Constantine probably just like “ hey if they bother you that much I can expel them permanently, free of charge.” And Odysseus would be “ WHAT?! NO!!”

Oh boy where do I start (this meme is the epitome of him tbh)

This lovely lad is zagreus from the hit supergaint game Hades!!! (I’m currently installing it woooo!!!)

He is the son of hades and prince of the underworld, the gist of his story is that he finds out his real mother persephone is living on the surface and he tries to escape the underworld (time and time again, with the help of the olympians) to meet her and return her to the underworld
