Was inspired by @callimara to make a hades/greek myth oc

So here he is:

The first drawing would be his sprite in game and the second is callivalia whispering delusions into his head lol

DESIGN NOTES

He's entirely made of stone apart from his ribcage and spine

The flame is from hephestus' forge and is what keeps him alive

The tattoo on his arm wad given to him by hephestus

BACKSTORY

He was originally just a statue made by an unknown sculptor

Some belive him to be the son of said sculptor but it is not a fact

One day when the sculptor was away an earthquake managed to destroy the statue beyond repair

The sculptor was devastated and begged for hephestus to fix him

For once the gods actually listened and hephestus used an ember from his forge to fix the statue

However as always their was a price

And now my oc has to serve hephestus for the rest of time

Today's Febhyurary prompt is "reborn" and it occurred to me it might be a good time to (re?)share this incredible tarot art I got of Rhodry from @mafumafuriah back in 2022. While not a rebirth, per se, it is a painful and miraculous second chance - destiny? a mistake?

It's served in my mind as a sort of unofficial cover art for my fic Beholden, "a story in which the villain accidentally-on-purpose saves the life of the hero, and seals both of their fates together."

The characters themselves has changed so much since I originally made the drawing that the context behind this piece doesn’t even..apply anymore?? Whatever, I need a new name for my little bat fella (who’s no longer a bat).
