ACT II.
The office was a battlefield, and I was the only one unarmed.
Every day felt like a fresh assault. Tina’s barbs were sharper, her voice dripping with fake sympathy as she leaned over my desk. “Oh, Y/N, are you sure you’re comfortable in that chair? It looks like it’s a little… snug.”
I tried to ignore her, my cheeks burning as I focused on the mock-up on my screen. She’d been relentless all week, and every comment felt like a jab to my already low self-esteem. I was keeping quiet, minding my own business but the bullying never seemed to stop. I wanted to be the bigger person, the mature person who doesn't take things to heart. And it seemed like it from outside, but from the inside I was suffering.
Across the room, Yoongi wasn’t much better. His criticisms were less direct, but no less cutting. He had a way of making me feel incompetent without ever raising his voice. “Y/N, these designs lack creativity,” he’d say, his tone calm but loaded with judgment. “Maybe it’s time you considered a role that’s more… fitting for your skill set. Like data entry.”
I bit my lip, swallowing the lump in my throat. I wasn’t going to cry. Not here, not in front of them.
Jungkook, however, was the worst of all. Every glance he threw my way felt like a judgment, every word like a blow.
“You’re moving too slow,” he snapped one afternoon, slamming a stack of papers onto my desk, leaning over to my face whilst his dark eyes burned into my soul. “Do you even understand deadlines? Or is thinking that fast too much for you?”
The team laughed quietly, but the sound roared in my ears. I felt my hands tremble. I wanted to open my mouth, I wanted to shout and say that I quit this god forsaken place, but I couldn't. Call me weak, call me pushover or whatever, but this job was important to me and I wanted to keep proving my worth.
By the end of the day, I was drained of course. My confidence was in shreds, my energy spent. But the worst moments came when I was alone at home, sitting in my small one-bedroom flat with my dog curled up at my feet and tears streaming down my face.
-
That evening, I sat at the kitchen table, staring at a cold cup of tea in my hands. Hades, my dog, whimpered, sensing my distress, and I reached down to stroke his soft fur.
“I’m fine,” I whispered in a shaky voice, wiping my tears away. It has been like this for weeks. I was at work, bullied, mocked at, then came home and cried my eyes out the entire evening. And then when I opened my eyes in the next morning, the cycle repeated itself.
I thought of my parents, so far away and unaware of the chaos in my life. I couldn’t burden them with this. I thought of my brother in prison, the shame my family carried, and the weight of holding everything together by myself.
And yet, I knew I couldn’t give up. If I lost this job, I’d lose everything. My apartment, my independence, my sense of self. I had to keep going, no matter how much it hurt.
-
The next morning, I dragged myself into the office, my body heavy with exhaustion and my eyes burning from all the crying and lack of sleep.
The morning passed in a blur of emails, revisions, and pointed comments from Yoongi and Tina which I ignored, I was too lost in thoughts to even listen to them anymore. By lunchtime, my head was pounding, but I pushed through, forcing myself to finish the latest round of edits.
“You look terrible,” Tina said as she passed my desk, her voice dripping with mocking concern. “Maybe you should take a break. But then again, even when you take a break you'd do a shitty job afterward yet again.”
I ignored her, focusing on the screen in front of me. My surroundings were like a blurr. Somewhat, I lost sense of my emotions the moment I focused on my design as this was the only thing helping me out in this moment.
By the end of the day, my vision was blurring. My body felt like it was on autopilot, moving through tasks without really comprehending what I was doing. Of course I did fuck up a few times, stumbling in my tasks and that did not go unnoticed by my boss.
“Y/N, are you listening?” Jungkook’s voice snapped me out of my daze.
I blinked, realizing I had been staring at my screen without hearing a word of the conversation happening around me.
“Yeah. . . I am listening," I lied lowly, refusing to meet his eyes.
I could practically hear him scoff and probably roll his eyes. “You’re useless. Why are you even here?”
The words hit me like a slap, but I couldn’t muster the strength to respond.
-
It happened that evening at the end of my workday, just as I was finishing the last of my assignments. I stood up from my desk, the world tilting around me and my legs went weak. My vision blurred, and before I could catch myself, everything went black.
-
When I came to my senses, I was lying on the floor, a small crowd gathered around me. Rya’s worried face was the first thing I saw, her hands gently patting my cheeks.
“Y/N! Are you okay?” she asked, her voice filled with panic. "Should we call an ambulance?"
I groaned, my body aching as I tried to sit up. “N-no, i-it's fine. What happened?” I was pulled up gently by Rya as the other colleagues slowly walked away because they saw Rya's murderous glance. This girl was doing everything to protect me and she had no clue how grateful and appreciative I was to her for that.
“You fainted,” Rya said, helping me up. “You’ve been pushing yourself too hard.” I was also not eating at all, because their jokes about how I looked finally had gotten to me.
Hoseok appeared, holding a bottle of water. “You need to take care of yourself, Y/N,” he said gently. “This job isn’t worth destroying your health over.”
I felt tears prick at my eyes, but I forced them back, nodding weakly. “I’m fine,” I said, though my voice shook. “I’ll be fine.” I saw Hoseok and Rya look at each other and then back at me. From the corner of my eye I saw Tina stand not too far away, arms crossed against her chest. She huffed and headed down the hallway. This was a lost cause, wasn't it? Working at such a big company, getting paid well, just to be treated like trash...
Deep down, I knew that me saying I was fine was far from the truth. Something had to change soon—because if it didn’t, I wasn’t sure how much more I could take.
-
I didn’t expect the knock on my door that Saturday morning. Weekends were my time to recharge, to hide from the world and the constant judgment I faced at work. I would spend the weekends curled in bed, eating my emotions away and watching crime documentaries while Hades was curled by my side. But when I opened the door and saw whoever was standing there, a small smile on his face and a bouquet of sunflowers in his hands, my heart skipped a beat.
“Taehyung?” I blinked, caught off guard by the sight of my childhood best friend. It had been months since we’d last seen each other, though we’d kept in touch through our parents.
“Surprise,” he said warmly, holding out the flowers. “Thought I’d stop by and say hello. You’re not busy, are you?”
I shook my head, taking the flowers with a smile. “Not at all. Come in!”
He stepped inside, taking in the small space. Hades barked excitedly at the newcomer, running in circles around Taehyung’s legs.
“Hades,” I said with a laugh, scooping up my little dog. “Be nice. This is Taehyung.”
Taehyung grinned, scratching behind Hades’ ears. “You have a dog now? I should’ve brought treats.” "It's okay, he shouldn't eat much or else he'd become pudgy." "But pudgy is cute." he muttered and I giggled. His aura and presense somehow made me feel safe and at ease. I forgot how much of a kind hearted man Tae was. And here he was, dressed casually, hair a cute mess and a lazy smile gracing his features.
We spent a few minutes catching up before Taehyung suggested we take a walk. “It’s been ages since we’ve just hung out,” he said. “Let’s go to the park. Get some fresh air.”
The park was peaceful, the late morning sun casting a golden glow over the trees. We walked along the path, Hades trotting happily beside us on his leash. The park was not filled with many people this early in the morning and I was grateful for that. Somehow a lot of people made me anxious.
“So,” Taehyung said, breaking the comfortable silence, “how’s life in the big city? Still doing graphic design?”
“Yeah,” I said, trying to sound more enthusiastic than I felt. “It’s… a lot. But I’m managing.”
He raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced. “Managing, huh? That doesn’t sound like the Y/N I know. You used to dream big. What happened to that spark of yours?”
I shrugged, avoiding his gaze. “Life happened, I guess.”
Taehyung frowned but didn’t press further. Instead, he changed the subject. “Have you heard from your parents recently? My mom mentioned they were planning to visit soon.”
I nodded. “We talk every week. They’re good, keeping busy.”
“And your brother?”
I hesitated, the mention of my brother a sensitive topic, of course. I didn't talk to anyone about him and my parents seemed to be good at avoiding the topic for my own brother as well. They acted as if he was a shame to our family. “He’s… okay. Still in prison, but we’re hopeful he’ll be out sooner than expected. He’s trying to stay positive.”
Taehyung’s expression softened. “If there’s anything I can do to help, you’ll let me know, right? My firm handles cases like his all the time.” Taehyung was a successful lawyer here, he even owned his own law firm and I was so happy for him. Ever since he was a child he was determined and a smooth talker, convincing people with ease. He was also smart and selfless which was one of the things I liked about him.
I smiled, touched by his offer. “Thanks, Tae. I’ll keep that in mind.”
As we continued walking, Taehyung talked about his work and how many weird cases he has been working on recently.
“I still can’t believe you run your own firm,” I said, shaking my head. “You make it sound so easy.”
He laughed. “It’s anything but easy, trust me. But I love what I do. And it doesn’t hurt that my parents are proud of me for once.”
“They’ve always been proud of you,” I said, nudging him playfully. “You’re their golden child.”
“Maybe,” he said, his tone teasing. “But I’ve always cared more about what you thought of me.”
I blinked, caught off guard by his words. Before I could respond, Hades barked, pulling at the leash.
I glanced up to see what had caught his attention—and froze.
My boss was leaning against a dark Mercedez Benz and a cigarette dangled between his lips. He looked so casual. And also there was a man who had his back on me but it did not take me long to realize this was Yoongi.  I was staring for too long. Jungkook's gaze flickered on me and I saw a glint of surprise which made Yoongi turn around as well. My heart stopped.
For a moment, neither of us moved. It was as if the world had stopped, the air thick with tension.
“Y/N?” Taehyung’s voice broke the spell, and I tore my gaze away from Jungkook, my heart pounding.
“Sorry,” I said quickly, forcing a smile. “What were you saying?”
Taehyung followed my gaze, his brow furrowing as he took in both men's figures. “Is that Jeon Jungkook?” he asked surprised.
I shook my head, the knot in my stomach tightening. “Y-yeah. ” I mumbled and Tae hummed.  "So he is your boss?" I nodded. "Does he give you a hard time? I can give him a piece of my mind." I could hear the annoyance on Taehyung's voice as he spoke about Jungkook. I shook my head and my eyes shifted back on Tae.  "It's fine.Let's just go."
Taehyung didn’t look convinced, but he let it go, steering the conversation back to lighter topics as we slowly walked away.
But even as we continued walking, laughing and reminiscing, I couldn’t shake the image of Jungkook’s piercing gaze—or the way it had made me feel like he could see right through me.
-
Monday arrived far too quickly, and as I walked into the office, I could already feel the tension in the air. The weekend spent with Taehyung had been a rare reprieve, a reminder of the warmth of genuine friendship. But as soon as I entered the workspace, the cruel reality of my job hit me like a cold slap.
The whispers started almost immediately.
“Did you see her at the park?” Tina’s voice carried from the nearby break area, intentionally loud enough for me to hear.
“Oh, yeah,” Yoongi drawled, smirking as he leaned against the counter. “Who’d she pay to walk beside her like that?”
A few chuckles rippled through the room, and I kept my eyes fixed on my desk, willing myself to ignore them.
“Maybe he’s her personal trainer,” Tina continued with a sneer. “Though, let’s be honest, she doesn’t seem like the type who actually listens to advice.”
I gripped the edge of my desk, my knuckles turning white as I fought to keep my composure.
Jungkook’s voice joined the fray, sharp and mocking. “He probably felt bad for her. Sympathy date, maybe.”
Laughter erupted around me, the sound cutting deeper than I cared to admit.
“Morning, Y/N!” Tina’s fake tone made my stomach churn as she approached my desk, her heels clicking against the floor. “Had a good weekend? You seemed… busy.”
I forced a smile, keeping my voice even. “It was fine, thanks.”
Her eyes sparkled with faux curiosity. “Oh, come on, you can tell us. Who was that guy? Friend? Cousin? You’re not seriously trying to say he’s your boyfriend, are you?”
The heat rose to my cheeks, but I refused to give her the satisfaction of a reaction. “Just an old friend.”
Tina’s smile widened, her eyes gleaming with malice. “Oh, that makes sense. Because, you know, someone like him... with someone like you? Not exactly believable.”
The laughter started up again, and I clenched my fists under the desk, biting the inside of my cheek to keep from snapping back. I shot her a glare however and she did see it. That errupted a chuckle from her and she walked away with graceful steps, shaking her hips because she knew Jungkook was there.  Pathetic bitch.
-
The hours dragged on, each task feeling heavier under the weight of the relentless mockery. By lunchtime, I felt like I was suffocating, the walls of the office closing in around me. I haven't felt like this since I was in damn high school.
“Y/N, you okay?” Rya’s voice was a lifeline, her genuine concern cutting through the fog of humiliation.
I glanced up to see her and Hoseok standing by my desk, their expressions sympathetic.
“Yeah,” I lied, forcing a smile. “I’m fine.”
“Let’s grab lunch,” Hoseok suggested. “Get out of here for a bit.”
I hesitated, but the idea of escaping the toxic atmosphere, even for a little while, was too tempting to pass up.
As we sat in a small café a few blocks away, I felt the tension slowly begin to ease. The warm, comforting smells of coffee and pastries wrapped around me like a blanket, and for the first time all day, I felt like I could breathe again.
“They’re absolute trash,” Rya said bluntly, stirring her latte. “Tina, Yoongi, Jungkook—all of them.”
Hoseok nodded, his eyes serious. “You’re better than all of them combined, Y/N.”
I shrugged, poking at my sandwich with a fork. “It’s just... exhausting. I try to ignore them, but it’s like they go out of their way to tear me down.”
“They’re jealous,” Rya said firmly. “That’s all it is. You have talent, Y/N. They see that, and it scares them.”
I gave her a doubtful look. “They don’t seem scared to me.”
“Well, screw them,” Hoseok said, his tone unusually sharp. “You’ve got people who believe in you, Y/N.” I wish I could believe his words, but deep down I didn't. I was too absorbed in my inner pain to even think someone was believing in me. I wasn't believing in myself in the first place.
-
As I stepped through the doors, Yoongi’s voice rang out, loud and mocking.
“Back from lunch with your friends?” he said, smirking as he leaned against his desk arms crossed against his chest.
The others laughed, their eyes gleaming with amusement as they watched me walk past.
I didn’t respond, didn’t even look at him. But inside, I was crumbling, each cruel word chipping away at the walls I’d built to protect myself.
How much longer could I keep this up? How much more could I take before I broke completely? The answer lingered in the back of my mind, terrifying and inevitable.
-
The rest of the day passed in a haze of barely contained emotions. I kept my head down, focusing on the screen in front of me, even as whispers and snickers floated through the air like poison. Even my team was just as disgusting except Hoseok and Rya. What was wrong with adults acting like children?
By the time 4 PM rolled around, I was hanging on by a thread. But of course, Tina wasn’t about to let me leave without one final jab.
She sauntered over to my desk, her heels clicking against the floor like a countdown to my inevitable implosion. Today she wore a bright blue pencil skirt, a white blouse that had too much buttons popped off. I could see her cleveage clearly. This was definitely not job appropriate but I knew who she was doing this for.
“Hey, Y/N,” she said, her voice dripping with faux sweetness. “I’ve been meaning to talk to you about your designs. They’re… fine, I guess. For someone who clearly hasn’t seen the inside of a fashion magazine in, what, years?”
Her laugh was joined by Yoongi’s low chuckle from across the room, and my chest tightened.
“Not everyone can have an eye for detail like I do,” Tina continued, her voice rising so the whole office could hear. “But don’t worry. Maybe if you spent less time stuffing your face with food and more time paying attention to trends, you might actually produce something worth presenting to a client.”
The room fell silent, all eyes on me. My hands trembled, my nails digging into the edge of my desk.
“Enough,” I said quietly, my voice barely above a whisper. I could feel the rage bubbling up from deep inside of me. It was getting hard to control myself at this point. All these weeks of bullying and me being silent had to come to an end.
“What was that?” Tina leaned closer, a smug smile tugging at her lips.
“I said enough!” I stood up so quickly my chair toppled over, the loud clatter startling everyone. Tina's expression changed, I could see her blue eyes grow wide as she took a slight step back and her hands fell down her sides.
Tina blinked, clearly not expecting a reaction from me. “Excuse me?”
“You fucking heard me,” I said, my voice shaking but growing stronger with every word. “I’ve had it with your constant shitty bullying. Every day, you find some new way to tear me down, and for what? To make yourself feel better? To prove you’re better than me?”
She scoffed, crossing her arms. “Oh, please. Don’t be so dramatic.” she tried to look disinterested but I could see the surprise in her eyes from my outburst. Somehow I couldn't keep my mouth shut anymore. The words kept spilling out.
“Dramatic?” I laughed bitterly. “You’ve been treating me like garbage since the day I got here. Mocking my work, my weight, the way I dress, the way I look. And for what? Because you’re insecure? Because you can’t stand the idea of someone else succeeding? Someone else that is plain looking? Or should I say, someone that is different looking?”
The color drained from her face, her lips pressing into a thin line.
“And let’s not even start on the way you constantly throw yourself at the boss, who mind you, is just as shitty as you are.” I added, the words tumbling out before I could stop them. “The way you bat your lashes, lean into him, practically cling to his arm whenever he’s in the room... everyone sees it, Jungkook especially. And guess what, he is not interested. Pathetic, isn't it?” I took a step toward her. She was taller than me wearing those heels, but I didn't gave a fuck. I was full with rage.
Gasps rippled through the office, and Tina’s cheeks turned crimson. From the corner of my eyes I could see Yoongi lean back on his chair and stare at us in pure silence.
“You want to act like you’re above me, Tina? Fine. But don’t think for a second we don’t all see how desperate you are to get his attention—and how he couldn’t care less. And you trying to bring me down by being a shitty Direct Manager does nothing to make the boss notice you.”
Her jaw dropped, her confidence visibly crumbling. “You—”
“What?” I snapped, cutting her off. “You don’t like hearing the truth? He doesn’t want you. He never will. So maybe, instead of tearing other people down to make yourself feel important, you should take a good, long look in the mirror.”
The room was deathly quiet, every pair of eyes glued to the unfolding scene.
“I-I will have you fired for this!" she stuttered, her face red with embarrassment.
I stared at her, my chest heaving, and for the first time, I saw her for what she really was: small, scared, and desperately clinging to the illusion of power.
“Yeah,” I said, my voice steady. “Do it, maybe I will finally get the mental break I deserve.”
Without another word, I grabbed my bag and walked out of the office, the sound of my footsteps echoing in the silence.
I didn’t make it far before the tears started falling. I ducked into the stairwell, sinking onto the cold concrete steps as the weight of the confrontation hit me. My shoulders shook with sobs, the release of weeks—months—of pent-up frustration and pain. Fucking hell, was I going to get fired for this? Fuck fuck fuck.
The door creaked open, and I looked up to see Rya standing there, her expression a mix of concern and pride.
“That was epic,” she said, sitting down beside me.
I laughed weakly, wiping my eyes with the back of my hand. “It didn’t feel epic. It felt terrifying.”
“Well, it needed to be said,” she said firmly. “And you said it. You stood up for yourself, Y/N. That takes a lot of guts.”
I nodded, my tears slowing as her words sank in. For the first time in what felt like forever, I felt a spark of something I hadn’t felt in a long time: pride.
“Thanks, Rya,” I said softly.
She smiled, giving my shoulder a reassuring squeeze. “Anytime. And just so you know, you’re not alone in this. We’ve got your back. And don't worry about getting fired, Jungkook can't afford to look for another candidate right now besides, deep down he knows you are brilliant at what you do and that you are a hard worker.”
Her words were like a balm to my wounded spirit, and as I sat there with her, I realized that maybe, just maybe, I was stronger than I thought.
-
The office was buzzing with murmurs in the aftermath of my confrontation with Tina, but I tried to focus on my work. My chest was still tight, my emotions raw, but I felt an odd sense of relief. Standing up for myself had been terrifying, yet it also felt strangely empowering.
I barely had time to process the relief before a sharp voice interrupted my thoughts.
“Y/N,” Jungkook called from the doorway of his office, his tone clipped. “My office. Now.”
Every pair of eyes in the room shot to me, their gazes heavy with curiosity and judgment. My stomach sank, but I refused to let the anxiety show. With my head held high, I pushed back from my desk and walked toward him, determined not to let him intimidate me anymore.
The door clicked shut behind me, and the room suddenly felt much smaller. Jungkook stood by his desk, his sleeves rolled up to reveal his tattooed forearms, his dark eyes fixed on me with an intensity that made my breath hitch. I saw him wearing a dark suit. However, his jacket was gone and he had his shirt on, black slacks and his tattoos complimented him perfectly. If he wasn't such an ass, I'd have been secretly attracted to him.
“What’s this I hear about you causing a scene?” he asked, his voice low and dangerous. He was definitely annoyed with me.
I crossed my arms, meeting his gaze head-on. “You mean standing up for myself? Sorry if that doesn’t fit your idea of acceptable behavior.”
His jaw tightened, and he took a step closer, the space between us shrinking. “This isn’t about acceptable behavior. It’s about keeping your head down and doing your job without making a spectacle of yourself.”
A laugh escaped me, bitter and unrestrained. “Oh, you mean like the way you and your little entourage make a spectacle out of humiliating me every chance you get?”
His eyes darkened, and for a moment, the tension in the room shifted, charged with something electric and unspoken.
“Careful, Y/N,” he said, his voice dropping an octave. “You’re treading on thin ice.”
I took a step closer, closing the distance between us until I could feel the heat radiating from his body. And his cologne intoxicated me. “And you know what? I don’t care anymore. I’ve had enough of your condescending remarks, your bullying, and your constant need to remind me that I don’t fit into your little world.”
His gaze flicked to my lips, just for a second, but it was enough to make my heart race.
“You don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said, his voice rough."I have done no such thing. It was to push you so you can get better."
“Are you kidding me?!” I shot back, my voice trembling with anger. “I see the way you look at me, Jungkook. The way you go out of your way to make my life miserable. What is it? Does it make you feel powerful? Or are you just trying to cover up whatever it is you’re really feeling?”
His hand flexed at his side, and for a moment, I thought he might reach for me. But instead, he took a step back, his expression unreadable.
“You’re crossing a line,” he said, his voice tight.
“No,” I said firmly. “I’m finally drawing one.”
The room was silent except for the sound of my own breathing, ragged and uneven. I could feel the weight of his gaze, heavy and unrelenting, but I refused to back down.
“Is that all, Mr. Jeon?” I asked, my voice cold and formal.
His jaw clenched, but he nodded. “Get out.”
I turned on my heel and walked out of the office, my heart pounding in my chest. As the door closed behind me, I couldn’t help but feel a mix of triumph and dread.
Whatever was brewing between Jungkook and me, it was far from over. And something told me it was only going to get more complicated.
I left Jungkook’s office with my heart pounding and my hands trembling. I didn’t know if I felt victorious or terrified, but I couldn’t afford to overanalyze it right now. I just needed to keep my head down and survive the rest of the day.
-
On my way back to my desk after my lunch break, I ducked into the break room to grab a glass of water. I needed at least a second to breathe before I faced the curious stares of my coworkers.
That’s when I heard voices drifting in from the slightly ajar door from one of the closest meeting rooms.
“Man, she really snapped at Tina...” Yoongi’s familiar voice was laced with amusement.
I froze.
“She didn’t just snap,” Yoongi continued with a low chuckle. “She obliterated her. And the best part? She called out Tina’s ridiculous crush on you. In front of everyone. Priceless.”
“Shut up, Yoongi,” Jungkook snapped, his tone sharp.
“Why? It’s true.” Yoongi’s voice grew more teasing. “I’ve never seen Tina look so humiliated. It was a masterpiece, honestly. Someone had to put her in her place eventually.”
“She was out of line,” Jungkook growled.
I inched closer to the door, my heart racing. Were they talking about me?
“Out of line?” Yoongi scoffed. “You’re kidding, right? Tina’s been terrorizing her for weeks. Y/N finally decided she wasn’t going to take it anymore. Honestly, I respect her for it.”
“It’s not her job to cause scenes in the office, besides, you have terrorizing her as well.” Jungkook shot back, his tone cold.
Yoongi laughed, the sound dry and mocking. “Oh, please. Don’t act like you’re mad about the professionalism or whatever excuse you’re clinging to. You’re mad because she stood up to you too. Admit it, Jeon—she caught you off guard. And you hate not being in control. And you also terrorized her. Is that apropriate for a CEO to do?”
There was a brief silence, and then Jungkook’s voice dropped, low and dangerous. “Careful, Yoongi.”
“Why?” Yoongi said, unfazed. “Let’s be real, Jungkook. You’ve been riding her harder than anyone else in this office. And for what? Because she’s not your type? Because she’s not like the other girls who throw themselves at you? Or because she is fat?” Fat. This word made my hands shake. I hated it so much. It was a reminder.
“That’s enough,” Jungkook growled, the edge in his voice enough to make me hold my breath.
“Or maybe,” Yoongi continued, clearly enjoying pushing Jungkook’s buttons, “it’s because she doesn’t give a damn about you? She doesn’t hang on your every word or bat her lashes at you like Tina. She’s not afraid to tell you off, and it’s driving you crazy. She is not attractive at all and you cannot comprehend how come someone who is not pretty not into you?”
“I said that’s enough!” Jungkook’s voice echoed through the room, loud and commanding.
The sudden outburst made me flinch, and I stepped back, my foot scuffing against the floor.
The noise was subtle, but in the silence that followed Jungkook’s shout, it was loud enough to draw attention.
“What was that?” Jungkook’s voice was sharp.
I turned and bolted before either of them could investigate, my heart racing as I slipped back into the main office.
My mind was spinning, replaying the conversation I’d just overheard. Yoongi’s words lingered in my mind, poking at emotions I wasn’t ready to confront.
Jungkook wasn’t mad about professionalism. He wasn’t mad about Tina. He was mad about me.
And that terrified me more than anything else.
-
A few hours after overhearing the heated conversation between Jungkook and Yoongi, my head was a whirlwind of emotions. I couldn't focus on my work at all. I needed air—fresh, cool air that wasn’t tainted by the stifling tension of the office.
The rooftop seemed like the perfect escape. I’d been there once before during lunch, and it was usually deserted.
Pushing open the heavy door, I stepped out into the open, letting the crisp breeze wash over me. The city stretched out in every direction, its sounds muted by the height.
But my solitude was short-lived.
A familiar figure leaned against the railing, a cigarette between his fingers. Yoongi.
He glanced at me over his shoulder, one brow quirking in surprise. “Didn’t think you’d be the rooftop type.”
I crossed my arms, irritation bubbling to the surface. “And I didn’t think you’d be the smoking type. Guess we’re both full of surprises.”
He smirked, taking a long drag of his cigarette before exhaling a plume of smoke into the air. “Touché. So, what brings you up here? Trying to escape the circus downstairs?”
I took a few steps closer, my frustration from earlier finding a new target. “If by circus you mean you and Jungkook, then yeah. Congratulations, you two are the ringleaders.”
Yoongi let out a low chuckle, the sound grating against my nerves. “Ah, so you heard us.”
“Hard not to when you’re practically shouting,” I snapped. “Though I’m sure you both figured no one would dare eavesdrop on the great CEO and his sidekick.”
He turned to face me fully, leaning back against the railing. His sharp features were illuminated by the city lights, giving him an almost ethereal, dangerous look. “Careful, Y/N. You’re sounding pretty bold for someone who usually keeps her head down.”
I took another step closer, my anger pushing me forward. “Bold? You think this is bold? No, Yoongi. Bold is bullying someone for no good reason. Bold is turning the office into a soap opera just because you can’t act like an adult.”
His smirk faltered, replaced by a flash of something darker. He took a step toward me, closing the distance between us.
“You don’t know me,” he said, his voice low and cutting.
“And I don’t care to,” I shot back, though my voice wavered slightly.
We were close now, too close. The air between us was charged, a volatile mix of anger and something unspoken. His gaze locked onto mine, unyielding and intense, and I refused to back down.
“Let me guess,” I continued, my voice shaking with both rage and nerves. “You’re just another overgrown man-child who thinks the world owes him something. Smoking on the rooftop, making snarky comments—what’s next? Brooding poetry about how misunderstood you are?”
He tilted his head, his smirk returning, though it carried a dangerous edge. “You’ve got a mouth on you, Y/N. Didn’t think you had it in you to snap twice in one day.”
“Yeah, well, you and your buddy Jungkook seem to bring out the worst in me,” I bit out.
Yoongi stepped closer, his presence overwhelming. “You’ve got guts, I’ll give you that. But don’t think for a second that you can figure me out with your little insults. You should look at yourself in the mirror.”
“Figure you out?” I laughed bitterly. “I don’t want to figure you out, Yoongi. Trust me, I know who I am, I look at myself in the mirror everyday. What about you? Do you know who you are?" there was a pause." Leave me the hell alone.”
He leaned in slightly, his voice dropping to a near whisper. “Then why are you still standing here?”
I froze, my heart hammering in my chest. His words hung in the air, heavy and taunting. I hated the way he got under my skin, the way his presence seemed to pull at something deep and unwanted inside me.
“Because someone needs to tell you off as well,” I said finally, though my voice lacked the conviction it had moments ago.
He chuckled, a low, throaty sound that sent a shiver down my spine. “You’re cute when you’re mad, Y/N. But if you think you can scare me off, you’re in for a rude awakening.”
I glared at him, refusing to let him see how his words affected me. “Enjoy your rooftop melodrama.”
I turned on my heel, marching back toward the door. But as I reached for the handle, his voice stopped me.
“Y/N.”
I glanced back, my hand hovering over the door.
“You’re stronger than you think,” he said, his tone softer, almost contemplative.
I didn’t know how to respond, so I said nothing. Instead, I pushed open the door and walked back into the stairwell, his words following me like a shadow.

Jungkook Headcannons
Tumblr media
Boyfriend Jungkook Headcannons
— Easily the MOST clingy boyfriend ever!! But in a good way ofcourse
— It was a love at first sight thing with you.
— His favorite thing to do is merely lay in bed, either you laying on his chest or the other way around as you both chat about everything and nothing.
— He takes you EVERYWHERE. When I said he’s clingy I mean it. You go anywhere he does
— He loves showering with you, sex or not, he loves it.
— He knew he wanted to marry you and already has the ring and everything.
— He calls you ‘darling’ and ‘baby’ the most.
— On that note, he won’t allow you to call him by his name. You HAVE to use pet names or he will NOT respond
— He constantly brags to the band, his family and even Army about you.
— The boys absolutely ADORE the way he loves you and the way you love him the same right back!!
— J-Hope is your best friend
— On the times Jungkook leaves your side (which is barely) he feels panicky and anxious.
— Armies absolutely adore you as well!!
— You are Jungkooks lock screen and home screen on his phone but he also steals yours all the time and makes himself your lock and home screen.
— With the way he dresses you two look like Hades and Persephone
— He brings you flowers every single Monday morning, wanting you to start your week off with a smile
— Since being with him you haven’t touched a door handle and he will literally SHOVE you out of the way to make sure you don’t open your own door.
— He also adores feeding you as well as letting you feed him.
— Baths together happen once a week. He will prepare them perfectly for you.
— Most importantly he’s extremely protective.
— In public his hand is holding yours or his arm is around you.
— He notices your getting uncomfortable? Instantly taking you to the car and heading home. So what that was a party??
— You’re his EVERYTHING. No one but Army comes before you.
THE END

Do you want a part two?? An actual fic?? Or how about headcannons on one of the other members?? Just request!!!

Driving Me Wild | jungkook x reader
Tumblr media
Pair: Wrath prince Jeon Jungkook x Reader
“You're fucked, and you're making me fucked and we're fucked!” Jungkook intensely rubbing the sides of his head. If he breathed fire like Seokjin, he would definitely burn down the Perse garden. Though actually he would never dare because great-great-great grandpa Hades built it for Lady Persephone. Burn it down is equivalent to eternally expelled to the mortal realm. Just thinking about that makes Jungkook break in cold sweat.
“Jungkook, where the hell are we?” Your voice starts to sound so little just like your body slowly inching closer to Jungkook. You just followed him to his room. The tiny room in your tiny apartment. You're the only one who resides in a slightly bigger room than his but this, there’s no walls! No door! It’s a garden! With hedge maze and all, the bushes are five times bigger than you. An endless spread of fields, as far as your eyes can see.
“Exactly, we’re in hell,”
Jungkook chuckles bitterly as he whispered to himself. Not wanting to panic you even more. He can see your pupils shaking so bad and your whole body is quivering. Sighing, Jungkook, massaging the back of his neck tiredly. Of course, you’re a human, no one will get used to this. But the garden is like the most normal part of this hell. Great Grandpa Hades insisted on making it as if Lady Persephone is in her mom’s garden.
Though it’s a little dark in Jungkook’s opinion. It’s hell. Everything is dark, greyish and gloomy here.
You can feel sweat running down your back spine, because when you’re nervous you sweat a lot. And this time it's no exception.
“Jungkook, you better answer me now, I swear. Stop groaning and stop making me more nervous. You’re not helping! Did we travel through time or what? Or, or universe? Oh god, don’t tell me it’s your brownie pot. Goddamnit I told you I can only eat one piece at a time. How much do you put in it? Because I always get so high like a kite-” your were stopped at his loud groan. With disbelieving looks on your face, your mouth gap at his attitude. He is rolling his eyes to the back of his skull.
He can do that easily since he has no brain! You scoffed.
“Excuse me, this is not your time to act like you’re annoyed. This is all your fault,” your fingers frantically flapping around, pointing at him and everywhere. True, it’s his fault. If you’re not mad at him, you wouldn't follow him. And if you didn’t follow him like a mom nagging her lazy son to clean his room, none of you would be in this situation.
Jungkook scrunching his brows together, biting his tongue trying to compose himself to not let out a yell. His yell in hell can shake the entire kingdom. Unlike on earth where a lion would've been rolling on the dirt at his squeaky yell.
“____, shut up.” Jungkook breathed. Controlling his temper by slowly inhaling and exhaling. A method he learned with his brothers, the other princes. Shutting his eyes tight as he tries to think of a solution and trying to not burn this whole place down and wake everyone up with his yelling. You’re always stepping on his nerve and usually he can deal with that but not today. Nope.
“ARGH, are you kidnapping me?! Great! I don’t even have money! My parents wouldn’t be surprised! Super peachy fine, my whole stack of unfinished master thesis and my cat! Good job Jungkook, you caught a billion dollar victim.” You exasperated. Saying whatever it is on your mind.
Your cat Xi Yu, poor little plumpy Xi Yu, who will feed her now? Suddenly your face falls at the thought. Ignoring Jungkook’s figure that grows darker and darker with every word you spits. Hearing a grunt before his voice booming.
“I’M TRYING TO TALK NICELY TO YOU SO PLEASE SHUT UP I NEED TO THINK!” Jungkook seethes through his teeth, panting heavily.
Everything went on pause at his thundering roar yet you scoffed, breaking the three seconds silence.
“Really scary, Jungkook,” you smirks. See, anyone would've cried at that but this is Jungkook. Your annoying roommate who lates at paying rent, who shows up whenever he wants, who treats the house like a hotel room with room service maid -in his mind, that’s you- cleaning up his dishes, his dirty clothes on the floor. Sometimes he’d gone for weeks and showed up all grumpy and moody. Who does he think he is?
The youngest Sin's prince, Jungkook The Wrath would want nothing but to snap your fragile little neck into two. Fist balled tight, he silently counting from one to ten backwards. Trying to calm down when his patience is almost non-existence. He gotta play the Jungkook The Roommate first because you have no idea you’re sharing a house with a Sin.
How in the world can she walk through the portal? She is clearly unharmed -judging by her perfectly healthy pitch nagging voice- and she seems to be in a decent shape, two hands, two -short- legs. Just fine. But how? No mortal can walk through his portal. Jungkook thought.
He thanks his luck that he planted his portal in the secret passage of the garden. You would be dead if you suddenly showed up at the mansion.
Calm down Jungkook, you’re so cool. You can fix this. Just drag her back to the portal, bribe her with endless stock of Reese’s and she will forget about today. Forcing a smile on his face, he turns to face you.
Jungkook is tall and buff and every time he suddenly comes too close to you, it will always surprise you. Though flinching you still managed to shoot a glare. Hope it zaps him like lightning. But he doesn’t blink. Too used to your sharp glare.
“____, I’m gonna need you to listen to me,” Jungkook speaks in a hushed voice. He doesn’t want any underworld creatures to start noticing anything suspicious from the little commotion.
As his figure looming over yours, Jungkook catches the sweet citrus smell and natural sweaty smell. Your smell. He curses as he sucks another breath of your fresh smell. You can see the deep furrow on his forehead, sharp eyes inspecting your face and neck, his nose sniffing you and you gasp so loud at that.
How dare he!
Before you can scream at him Jungkook immediately palming your whole mouth with his heavily tattooed hand.
“Shut up if you wanna live,” he warns. Dragging you behind a humongous bush, shaped like a man with a pair of wings. Both of your hands move on reflect, scratching his wrist from his hand that’s clasping your mouth. He hissed as your nails are hurting his skin.
“You are making me crazy.” The scratch doesn’t actually bother him, he can handle pain, what a pair of clipped nails of yours can do to him? It’s your muffling voice, it annoyed him to no end. Though at disadvantage you’re still acting like you're a fierce tiger when you’re definitely a kitten at this moment.
“Huppphh Jung-huh kook!” You tried to get away from his hold but he kept pushing you till your back hit some sticks and leaves, they’re not fluffy and they’re poking your back. You whine at the discomfort and maybe Jungkook noticed that because he spins you around.
“Promise me you will not scream or else I can do this all day,” he says, more like threatening you.
Aside from your heavy breathing, you can clearly listen to your heart beating so loud. Both from the extreme close proximity with Jungkook and the fear. You nod slowly, accepting the defeat. After he can sense that you’re calming down, he lifts off his hand from your face, “listen, you’re not supposed to be here,” Jungkook’s serious face is so scary, you noted in your mind.
“No shit, Sherlock,” you retort back. It was just a petty habit whenever you’re bickering with Jungkook.
Jungkook tuts, abruptly stopped and his eyes are challenging you to disobey him one more time. But you cower down, knowing that it’s a losing battle. You pouted.
“How the fuck am I gonna explain all of this to you?” Jungkook sigh, the question is more to himself actually but you can hear them loud and clear too. You bite back your tongue because you really wanna talk back at him, after seeing his death glare, you fly out a white flag.
“And your smell,” Jungkook groans, his eyes landing on your neck, the area where you scent is so strong. That makes your mouth open and your eyes too, very wide.
“You bastard!” You whisper yelling at him. Feeling so offended, you punch his chest, his stupid sturdy and hard chest. It almost makes a sound when you fist smack one of the pecks.
Jungkook lost count on how many sighs he lets out in the span of less than 10 minutes. “What are you so mad at?!” He hissed back at you. “All I said was your smell, and you’re all feral for what?” Jungkook doesn’t pray but right he can do one or two.
You gasp at his question. How dare he! Does his parents never teach him manners! To never mention a lady’s scent?! Acting like a DEA dog trained to sniff drugs. “Oh boohoo you’re a fool Jungkook. I know sometimes I sweat a lot, but that’s because I’m scared. And maybe I did run a little before I got to our home,” you turn shy at the last line of your explanation. “But that doesn’t give you the right to complain about how I smell, you sick psycho!” Jabbing your tiny finger on his chest.
Jungkook blinks, once and twice at that. You’re upset because you think he thinks you smell bad? For the first time today, right after you managed to squeeze your small body through the portal, Jungkook burst out laughing. He laughs so hard while clutching his stomach and head thrown back. You can only see his sets of white teeth and wide mouth. Barking out a loud laugh. He wants to control the hysterical laugh that he himself has no idea he can do that, but they come out as wheezing. Wiping the tears on the corners of his eyes as he sucks up a breath. He stands back to face you. Only to fail once again at your dumbfounded face. You’re blinking foolishly but your face is upset. Lips frowning and brows scrunching.
“Jungkook!” You stomped your foot to snap him out of it. Is he going insane?
“You’re driving me crazy,” Jungkook still hiccuping from the laughter. “You thought I think you’re smelly?” Jungkook wheezes. “Oh ____, you’re so stupid,” he continued.
Frustratingly you pushed him aside and you mindlessly walked -stomping- your legs away from him. Whatever this place is, anywhere is better as long as you’re not with him. The imbecile!
“No no no. No, come back.” Jungkook strides his long legs and he laughs even more at how he can easily catch up to you. Your short legs are so amusing to him. How can someone as adult as you are and yet so small? “____,” he calls for you but your flushed face is like an answer that you’re not in the mood. Grinning wide, Jungkook lets you walk but he is way too close to your side. “Okay, ignore me,” he chuckles.
You don't even know where you're going but you let your feet take over anyway. Jungkook is biting his tongue so he won't let out a loud laugh. Hands slide into the pocket of his pants while yours are crossed on your chest, your over sized hoodie is bouncing along as you stomped harder. A sign of protest.
Jungkook shakes his head at the contrast of your attire and his. He had just gone back from visiting a general who also resides on the mortal realm before he decided to buy some groceries. It was his turn anyway or maybe it’s the humane part in him pitying you who’d been all alone after he had to finish some task in hell. You once told him the reason why you need a roommate is because you are scared of being alone. Seems like he’s not being a good one. Well, he was never a good one ever since he stayed there but still.
When he stepped into the house with bags of groceries, he can see that you were wrapping yourself with your blanket as your eyes were trained on your laptop. The moment you can see Jungkook walking past you, you hit the spacebar of your keyboard to pause the drama that you were watching. Scoffing loudly, you stand up behind him.
“Look I don’t usually meddle with other people’s business but good job Jungkook, you found your way back to this house. I thought I lived alone.” You clapped. Seeing his broad back only moving as he assembled the groceries into their place in the kitchen. You wished he takes care of his other stuff like how he delicately takes care of the snacks.
“Shut up,” Jungkook’s voice echoes, he bends down to place the milk into the fridge. Your eyes follow his movement before you let out a gasp.
“I told you I drink full cream! That’s low fat!” You complained. Every grocery trip, the milk must be full cream. You can buy it on your own. What's the point of pooling together to buy groceries if Jungkook can’t even get it right?!
“You’re being ridiculous. It’s milk. Full cream, low fat or chocolate or strawberry, it’s still a milk. Taste the same. Period.” Jungkook harshly grabs the carton of milk from your hold. He wants to put it in the fridge but you’re not backing down. You pulled the poor milk back and hence began the tug war of milk with Jungkook. That’s right, nothing ends well if the two of you bicker. No one knows how to surrender first. Jungkook pulled it a little too hard causing it to slip from your reddened fingers and his strength caused it to fall down the kitchen counter. Spilled milk is everywhere. Tainting the floor white.
“You stupid!” You yelled at him. Looks like Jungkook himself was in shock as he certainly didn’t mean it. But there’s no use of crying over the spilled milk.
“Great, you don’t want it right. Good job, ____.” He smirks devilishly at your frowning face. Annoyed that he used your favorite phrase whenever you wanted to torment him. “You clean it,” Jungkook makes a disgusting face and turns away while wiping the remnants of milk on his expensive pants.
“No! It’s your fault. It was your hand!” You point your finger at him. Jungkook ignores you completely as he snaps the door handle to his room. He wanted to go back to hell away from you for a while. That is how this mess began. He has no idea how you managed to slip along the portal with him. Usually, not for the rest of Jungkook’s life, no one ever walked the portal. Unharmed and still sane.
To you it’s bewildering, you swear you followed him to his room not this eerie garden.
“Come closer,” he said with a low voice. He doesn’t want anyone eaves-dropping. Hell creatures are very fast at catching scared human’s smell. So, he thought the best way is to mask your smell with his. He pulled you closer since you don’t seem like you wanted to obey him anyway and he instantly hugged you. Not a polite greeting kind of hug, this is like a tight embrace, bone crushing hug.
“Jungkook what the fuck! You’re suffocating me,” you tried to wiggle away from his hold, but failed miserably.
“Stay still,” he groaned. Irritated, but he will never forgive himself if anything happened to you because believe it or not he actually has a soft spot for you. The sin's prince will never let anyone take another breath if he was screamed at the way you screamed at him. Yet you're the only one allowed to torment him.
Honestly, the hug shouldn’t take this long but Jungkook is lost in your smell. He will never admit it but you're so soft and tiny, and it takes him zero effort to circle your whole figure with his arms. He likes it. Nuzzling around your hair and neck, making sure he is spreading his scent all over you. “Kook,” you softly call him, feeling extremely ticklish. The whole scenario is so weird because you stone cold roommate Jungkook is hugging and smelling your hair. But you’re suppressing the laugh that is boiling ready to burst out. It tickles!
Closing his eyes he rubs his cheeks on the top of your head. Holy hell I never know this is so cozy. Jungkook thought to himself.
“Kook,” you squeaked out loud giggles at the sudden move from him and Jungkook’s eyes were shot open. Your laugh is too loud. Everyone will definitely hear you now. The thing about hell is, it’s a place of agony and pain. The usual sounds echoing the place are sobbing, crying, wailing or shallow screaming of pain. But laugh and giggles? That obviously wakes someone up.
Jungkook is right.
Suddenly there’s a flock of crows flying above his head with loud caws. Indicating someone is awake. Must be one of his brothers. He silently pleaded it’s not Seokjin while muttering curses here and there. Pulling you tighter to his chest you were left speechless. This is because you don’t know what is going on and Jungkook is just dragging your body through the bushes. You let him, it’s not like you can stop him anyway. Weirdly enough, Jungkook is moving so fast, seeing the blurry of everything around you and yet he holds you so tenderly. With his one hand cupping the back of your head and the other one is on your waist. You didn’t even realize that your feet are not touching the ground, Jungkook just carried you.
“Jungkook,” you sound so scared.
“You’re okay, we’ll get out of here. Hold tight.” Jungkook hushed you. Of course this is scary to you and Jungkook shakes his head at his own mistakes. He needs to fix the portal, and explain everything to you.
The only one he can think of right now is looking back for his portal in the garden. It's close but then he heard you whimper while your hands are tight on him, hiding your face on the crook of his neck. You saw a big fire. So big! It’s like a tsunami but it’s fire.
Jungkook doesn’t need to turn around to see because he already knows it’s Seokjin. Seokjin is his dear big brother. He is in charge of the garden. If Seokjin can sense intruders in the garden he just breathes out fires. To scare them away, his fire can never burn Grandpa Hades fire-proofed garden but it can be terrorizing to small creatures. Especially a human. The one that he’s carrying right now.
Your eyes are shut tight as you can feel that your breath is getting more laboured. You can feel the heat from the fire and even though Jungkook is fast, the fire seems determined to chase him. This must be a nightmare. Your eyes started to water. You’ve always been scared easily. Which is why you needed a roommate in the first place.
Jungkook gasps in relief as he can see his portal. It’s not a door, it’s an emblem he hid around the black flower bed. You cannot catch words coming out of Jungkook’s mouth. They sound so foreign and you listen to him chanting the words.
A rush of wind sweeps across your face and suddenly Jungkook halts in his step. He doesn’t even pant like any other human being did after they run a mile. He doesn’t even sweat. He waited for you to raise your head from his neck and your whimpering is echoing. You whip your head up as you can hear your own voice, it means that you’re in a tiny space, unlike the garden. And you almost collapse after seeing the same plain walls, your laptop and the paused drama, the spilled milk on the floor, and Xi Yu is licking them.
“Xi Yu stop! It will make your tummy ache!” You jumped down from Jungkook’s arms. Rushing to grab your chubby cat. She is so heavy.
Jungkook stares at you in disbelief, and he scoffed at you wiping the dripping milk under the cat’s chin. Xi Yu is a messy eater, but she likes Jungkook so Jungkook loves her too. “Well, your welcome.” he purposely raised his voice so you can hear him. Still carrying Xi Yu, with so much effort on one hand, you shuffled to Jungkook.
He thought you were going to kiss his cheek as a thank you token, like in the movies, or maybe he gets to see you blush. What he didn’t expect was you kicked him on his leg, real hard. making him hopping with a painful look on his face. Glaring daggers and muttering “that’s for almost got me killed,” and you kicked on the other leg, “almost got burned up and roasted!”
He yelped and rubbed his legs furiously. “Should’ve let Seokjin burned you,”
You continue to scratch Xi Yu’s neck. Eyes squinting scandalously at Jungkook,  clearly you’re upset.
“I gotta go and settle this, I will explain later. Stay put, you brat,” Jungkook pointed at you and Xi Yu took this chance to start licking his finger. Jungkook instantly cooed at the fluffy ball.
Jungkook turned his heel back to his door, but before he took another step, he looked back at you. With his sharp eyes and angry brows, and you imitate his looks. “Do not follow me this time.” He said in a low tone, intimidating you.
“And when I come back, do that thing to me,” is that a red shade on Jungkook’s cheeks?
“What thing,” you bite back.
“You know, the thing. Where I put my arms around you,” Jungkook swallowed hard at his own pathetic explanation while gesturing his hand towards his chest and you.
“Hugging?” You tilted your head, “You want a hug?”
“Okay _____, fine. I’ll hug you later. Don’t have to ask.” Jungkook left you with a mouth wide open and his laugh echoed as he entered his room.
“Did he just-” you asked the poor cat in your arms. She only meowed back.
“Yea, he wanted a hug and he made me ask if he wanted a hug and suddenly I’m the one who insisted him to hug me?” You shake your head. Truthfully you wanted to hug him too. He was so warm, or maybe it was you burning from the inside but no one needs to know that.
X
“Jungkook!” Seokjin is already waiting at the gate of his portal. hands across his chest and his foot tapping the ground. his wings are wide spread, he just arrived at Jungkook’s portal after he found out the intruders of the garden
“You brought your mortal mate here?!”

An enormous headache due to all the drinks he had last night wasn't the perfect way that Yoongi wanted to spend the upcoming day, not that he had much of a choice, and he was sure that Jungkook, Jimin, and even Namjoon were feeling the same way he did.
But as the daimon of non-violent death and the minister's king he had a job to do, whether he liked it or not, and sending the Keres, to do one of them for him wasn't the best idea.
As he strolled in the hall, when hearing the cackling of the Moirai the gray-haired one's wings spread and he flew until he was sure he was away from the sound, not wanting to deal with the cryptic hags, especially after getting them inebriated.
Afterward, he kept making his way towards the throne room, being slightly surprised when he entered the room and saw that the god of the Dead was nowhere in sight.
"Where is the king?" the daimon asked the servants in the room.
"The king is still in bed," one of the servants said, bowing to the minister. "Shall we wake him up my lord?"
"No need," he gave a deep sigh while rubbing his temple. "I'll do it myself."
With another bow from the servants, Yoongi made his way to Namjoon's bedroom, passing through other servants with disregard until he reached the door.
The gray-haired knocked on it and waited for a response for a couple of seconds, of which when Yoongi received none, he knocked on the door again, a bit more forcefully, before letting himself in the room, closing the door behind him.
He entered the room, the sight of the king made Yoongi let out a sigh and roll his eyes, Namjoon being spread out naked on his bed, snoring incredibly loudly that almost made the gray-haired one want to cover his ears.
"This isn't how I wanted to start my morning," he said pinching the bridge of his nose before proceeding to grab the king of the Underworld's right ankle and shake it violently. The daimon kept doing this even as he heard the god of the Dead groan and start to move to shake off the unwanted feeling, only stopping and letting go once the gray-haired noticed that the dark-haired had opened his eyes.
"Ughhh," Namjoon groaned as he moved to sit on the bed, his feet touching the cold floor as he stretched his arms before passing his fingers through his hair. "What time is it?" the king asked with a yawn.
"Good morning!" the minister replied loudly, moving to carefully pick up the glass shards off the floor before putting them on the mirrored dresser next to the untouched glass, not wanting whoever was going to clean the room to have too much work with it. "Fun night?" he said in an almost bored tone, his eyes focusing on the objects on top of the dresser.
"What do you want?" the god of the Dead asked, cracking his neck and passing his fingers through his hair once more, before resting his elbows on his knees, his gaze focusing on the floor, his head pounding, as if someone kept hitting it with one of Hephaestus's hammers, as flashes of the previous day's events crossed his mind.
His brain paying special attention to when he had been with his mistress but having his thoughts fogged by someone else, one part of him feeling guilty for what he had done to both the goddess and the nymph; the second part telling him that he had done nothing wrong, for neither women knew of what he had done; and a third part, one which was very small but still very present, wanted to fuck Kore into his bed until she begged him to stop, wanting her to become so addicted to the pleasures he would give her that the goddess wouldn't even dare to search for something similar in somebody else.
The latter being pushed to the far back of his mind, not wanting to become hard in front of his minister.
"I came to wake the king so that he can perform his duties," Yoongi said circling his finger through the rim of the untouched glass. "I also wanted to have a private conversation with you," the daimon of non-violent death grabbed the bottle of wine and poured the liquid into the glass, taking a gulp while glancing at the taller one through his peripheral. "I would've preferred a more clothes-on type of conversation but I'll take what I can get."
With a roll of eyes and a tsk Namjoon stood up from the bed and walked towards his closet, grabbing his robe. "What did you want to talk about?" the king asked in a monotone voice as he put on the piece of clothing, both men having their backs turned towards one another.
"What's the real story behind the flower crown?" the gray-haired said taking a swing of his drink.
Silence filled the room for what felt like hours as Namjoon debated on what to tell the minister before settling on the narrative he had given. "The same one from hours ago," he turned towards the daimon, having decided to give him a little more information. "A woman made it and left it behind when she left in a hurry and I took it for myself, nothing more to it."
Yoongi turned towards the god, staring at him from top to bottom. "Is that all?" he took a sip, looking up to see the king's reaction from above the rim of the glass.
"Why wouldn't it be?" the dark-haired one wanted to keep the existence of Kore hidden from the gray-haired one, more so for the fact that he didn't want the other to start questioning him about her, even though the feeling of possession stared prickling on his skin, especially when he saw the minister move his unoccupied hand to grab the crown of daisies. "Now, if this conversation is over, I'd like to go about my day."
"She must've made quite the impression for you to need a memento," the shorter of the two said quietly as his fingers grazed the white petals of the flower.
Rolling his eyes the god of the Dead crossed his arms over his chest. "How long are you going to keep this going?"
"Until you tell me the whole truth," Yoongi threw the flower crown haphazardly onto the bed, earning him a scowl from the king, of which he gave a smirk in response, almost as if he had caught the god in a lie.
The god made a move to sit at the foot of his bed, taking the crown in his hands and passing his fingers through its petals, as memories of yesterday clouded his vision.
What is wrong with me? Namjoon thought to himself. He had met the goddess less than twelve hours ago, it hadn't even been a meeting, they had simply looked at each other from across the hall and were aware of one another, there hadn't been any conversation, and then he had hidden behind a tree watching her, only for it to culminate in him thinking about her while being deep inside his mistress, all of this in a span of six hours at best.
All of it was a first to him.
"Who is she?" the king was pulled out of his thoughts by the voice of his minister, who now spoke in a more soft and understanding tone.
The god of the Dead however remained in silence, gathering his thoughts by pushing Kore out of them, as he stood from his seat and walked towards the dresser, placing the flower crown on it.
"No one," the dark-haired one said with a deep sigh. It was for the best that he forgets her, even if there was a part of him that wanted to see the goddess once more. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take a bath before starting my duties." before Yoongi had a chance to reply the Lord of Riches left the bedroom, shutting the door behind him.
The daimon sighed and rubbed his temple, more so due to how the conversation had gone and less about his hangover.
In all honesty, he wasn't surprised that his friend was guarded about the subject but, he couldn't help but wonder about the king's sudden attachment to something as simple as a crown made of daisies.
There was more to the story that Namjoon wasn't sharing, and while on any other occasion the daimon wouldn't press further, the situation at hand warranted some digging on his part.
Yoongi would never admit it out loud but the majority of the reason why he was doing this was that he was worried for his friend.
In all the years he has known the god, this was the first time he has seen him act this way.
The way Namjoon was staring at the crown moments before, the look in his eyes, one of melancholy, of heartache, of longing. A look the gray-haired hadn't seen since she had passed all those years ago.
But Yoongi reasoned that it couldn't be about her, Namjoon had long since passed his grieving process, especially if the twinkle in god's eyes after the daimon mentioned the Moirai's words was anything to go by.
And then, it clicked.
Could the flower crown belong to the bringer of death? It could explain the king's behavior but why try to hide it from him? If it hadn't been for him the Lord of Riches wouldn't even know the Moirai's prediction, so why hide from him?
"Unless…," Yoongi thought loudly to himself, taking another glance at the crown of daisies before exiting the room.
The daimon of non-violent death needed to talk to the Moirai once more, a thing that displeased him quite greatly but he felt like he had no other choice, the god of the Dead was being incredibly secretive and protective about the crown of daisies, and whoever had made the crown definitely had an effect on the king of the Underworld.
But there had to be more to the story, or else the god wouldn't be acting the way that he was.
However, Yoongi would have to be secretive about his new meeting with the Moirai, if the Lord of Riches was already defensive when it came to a flower crown, one could only imagine how he would act if he found out that his minister was trying to find more information about the crown's creator.
"Why do I have to be such a good friend?" he murmured with a sigh as he entered the throne room.
~🌸~
As the sun raised in the horizon, illuminating each corner with its light and awaking everyone and everything, from the birds that started to chirper to the blossoming flowers, not even mortals and immortals alike could escape its waking presence.
And for once in her godly life, the only thing that Y/N wanted to do was to curse Helios with all her might for waking the world up, and thus herself, for it meant she had to get up when the only thing she wanted was to continue lying in bed.
In fairness the goddess of spring had been awake for a while now, having woken up from a dream, a peculiar one at that, one she couldn't recall ever having had one similar.
A dream where she was lying in a bed made of flowers, arms at her side and eyes closed, taking in the bright sunlight. All of a sudden a gloominess took over, stealing away the light and leaving her surrounded by nothing but darkness, and while her eyes were now open, her body remained immobile.
In the blackness, a faceless but equally as dark figure, of similar built to that of a man, approached her, and, without uttering a word, settled between her now parted legs. His hands gracefully took hold of her legs and placed them on his shoulders just as carefully, spreading pecks and bites from her ankle to her thigh on her right leg before doing the same to her left one.
A sudden bite on her pelvis was all the warning she got before the figure's face was buried between her thighs, her back arching off the ground at the sensation of his lips kissing her most intimate part before using the flat of his tongue to lick at her entrance. His lips started to suck on her clit as he inserted two fingers into her, thrusting them in and out at a slow pace.
As the figure kept scissoring inside of her, the goddess of flowers' hips started moving in tune with his hand, her pussy clenching around the digits as moans kept falling from her lips, pleasure she had never felt before filling her bones.
With a moan against her center the figure's face backed away from her and started to spread kisses throughout her skin, making a path from her pelvis until her collarbone. The fingers in his left hand curled with precision against her sweet stop while his right hand fondled her breast, as his lips grazed against hers.
And when she was close to tipping over the edge, Y/N woke up with a startle, taking heavy breaths in order to calm herself down as quietly as she possibly could in order to not wake her mother up.
Ever since then she had been lying in bed and staring at the ceiling, the dream replaying in her over and over again, leaving her bewildered and with a tingling sensation between her legs, one she refused to acknowledge.
It wasn't the first time the goddess of spring had felt that sensation in her immortal life, the first time had been when she had met Apollo for the first time and he had started to flirt with her almost immediately, before the god of music was forced to leave by her mother, when she had the physical appearance of a girl in her late teens all those years ago.
A short time after both deities had left her with the nymphs, the goddess of flowers turned to them and asked about what she was feeling, of which Leucippe, Tyche, and Acaste explained in graphic detail everything they thought she would need to know, even going as far as telling and showing to her what she needed to do when she wanted to satisfy herself.
But, like she had told Aphrodite, Y/N never felt the need to do such things. That, and a mixture of a lack of courage to follow through with it, mostly due to fear of her mother finding out and the shame that would follow.
So, much every other time she had felt this need, Y/N would simply try her best to ignore it until it passed.
But as the morning sun started to rise, all hopes of remaining in bed disappeared before her, knowing that her mother would never allow her to be in bed without a concernable reason.
With a heavy breath, the goddess got up, stretching her arms and walking towards the kitchen, finding the goddess of harvest already there preparing breakfast, a fruit salad from the looks of it.
The younger goddess released a sigh as she walked, hoping her mother would be less mad than she was the previous night.
"Good morning mother," she gave the older goddess a peck on the cheek before moving to take a seat at the table.
"Good morning Kore," Demeter said, not lifting her eyes from her task. "Did you sleep well?"
A glimpse of her dream flashed for a second in her mind. "Yes mother, like a baby,"
The goddess of harvest settled both plates on the table and took a seat, both mother and daughter eating in silence, both glancing out the window each time they took a piece of fruit into their mouths.
"What are you planning on doing today my flower?" the older goddess asked, a neutral tone in her voice.
"I was planning on having a bath and then spend the rest of the day with the nymphs," Y/N played with a grape between her fingers before popping it into her mouth. "I'm sure they want to know everything that happen yesterday."
With a sigh, the goddess of agriculture turned her eyes from the outside towards her plate. "You do know why I was upset last night right?"
The goddess of flowers nodded. "Yes mother," she started to play with another grape. "It was because I made you worry after going to the garden in front of Zeus's palace without telling you."
Demeter's hand reached to hold her daughter's one, giving it a squeeze. "I apologize for being too harsh," she looked at the goddess of flowers, a caring look in her eyes. "I was incredibly worried after I couldn't find you and I overreacted." Y/N nodded along with her mother's words, her eyes focused on her lap.
The previous night as soon as she had heard her mother searching for her, the goddess of spring had made a quick dash towards the palace, leaving her daisy crown behind, and, once she had approached her mother she apologized for what she had done.
In response, Demeter angrily started to inquire questions to which she expected no answer to. Questions such as: 'Why were you by yourself?' 'Why not take someone with you if you wanted to go outside?' 'Why didn't you tell anyone about it?' and other such questions, ones that were quiet enough to not draw the attention of the entire hall but also loud enough to draw the attention of anyone who was close by.
Once the goddess of harvest stopped she grabbed her daughter's wrist and pulled her out the palace, both deities leaving for their home in silence and without farewells to the others.
She didn't hold anything against her mother, she knew the older goddess was simply worried. But, at the same time, her mother's actions the previous night bothered her beyond what she thought was possible.
The goddess of flowers had been by her herself less than thirty minutes. Why did she need constant supervision? She had been alive for centuries, her physical appearance had been of a young adult for so long, why did her mother sometimes still treat her like a child? Y/N knew her mother cared but it felt like too much at times.
"I know you meant well mother," she took a bite out of a strawberry. "I apologize for making you worry."
With another squeeze of her hand, the goddess of agriculture let go of her and both deities resumed eating in silence.
Once finished Y/N stood up to wash the plates, only to be stopped by her mother before she grabbed the dish. "I'll do it, you go on ahead," she stood from her seat and gave her daughter a peck on the forehead. "I love you, my flower."
"I love you too mother,"
~🌸~
After finishing his bath and putting on his clothes Namjoon quietly left his realm, spending a few minutes with Monie so that the three-headed hound wouldn't alert anyone of what the king was doing.
He just needed a few moments alone to gather his thoughts, his bath having managed into making his more lewd thoughts about the goddess of flowers more dominant.
The Lord of Riches had had his head leaned against the edge of the bathtub and his eyes closed, his mind replaying every single sinful thought that he had about the goddess while deep inside the nymph, so much so that once he felt his cock twitch Namjoon's hand moved to grip the organ.
At first, the strokes were lazy but as his brain conjured more erotic images of Kore, the faster his movements became, fisting his length like a mad man - images of the goddess on her knees with her lips around him; under him; on top of him; him taking her from behind; his face between her thighs as he ate her up like a man starved.
The god of the Dead stopped in his tracks and shook his head, if he kept focusing on these thoughts instead of getting rid of them, then it would just everything harder for him.
The king of the Underworld looked around his surroundings, he seemed to be in a meadow of sorts, the green blanket filled with all sorts of things, from plants and weeds to flowers and trees, with small creatures all over the place, from squirrels and rabbits to birds and bees.
If it weren't for all the animals and insects the Lord of Riches could almost fool himself into believing that he was in the Elysian Fields due to how peaceful and heavenly the meadow was.
He had missed this type of atmosphere from the Upperworld, more than he would possibly ever tell anyone, and while the Underworld had its fair share of vegetation, it still couldn't be compared to this one, comparing the plant life of his realm to the one from the mortal realm would be like comparing a hot breeze to a cold one.
Namjoon felt somewhat at peace, despite the goings-on in his mind.
But it wasn't long until for the tranquility to last much as the sound of excited squeals and laughter, women from the sounds of it, got louder the more he walked aimlessly, of which the god made a change to his path and moved to walk between the various trees, using them as cover as to not fright anyone.
As he got closer to the sound the Lord of Riches could start to make out the figure of the people making such a ruckus.
He stopped once he felt like he was close enough to see everything, the squeals seemed to be coming from a group of women, nymphs from the looks of it, a dozen or so of them, all sitting in a half circle, surrounding someone that the king of the Underworld couldn't see clearly from his position.
All the nymphs seemed to be engaged in whatever the figure in the middle was saying, no doubt gossip the god concluded.
As he was turning to take his leave two of the girls fell back onto the ground in fits of laughter, allowing him to see the person in the middle, and Namjoon could've sworn that his eyes bulged out so much that it almost felt like they would pop out of his skull.
There, in the middle of a bunch of nymphs, stood the one who's been haunting his every little thought for the past hours - Kore.
At the sight of the goddess the king stood in place as if paralyzed, needing to lay against the tree closest to him to stop himself from moving, if it was either to walk away or towards her Namjoon himself couldn't tell.
He took every inch of her: delicate hands; soft legs; flawless hair; gracious smile; starry eyes. All of her was perfect in his eyes, making his need to remain hidden that much harder.
The god of the Dead didn't know for how long he stood in that position, only being able to tell the passage of time by the position of the shadows. But if he had to be frank with himself, he didn't care much about it, as he watched the goddess pick flowers and laugh with the nymphs, he felt relaxed and at peace.
It had been so long since the Lord of Riches had had a break from his role, even if what he was doing wasn't proper.
The king wanted nothing more than to step out from his hiding place and talk to her, wanting to get to know the woman who haunted his every moment. But Namjoon wouldn't, for the fear that the goddess would be afraid of him.
He didn't need to be the smartest person on Earth to guess the type of things she had heard about him, not only that but, despite having no evidence to either prove him right or wrong, he knew Demeter had to be around the place as well.
The king of the Underworld highly doubted that the goddess of harvest would leave her daughter just under the nymphs' watchful eyes, he suspected that the older goddess wouldn't let anyone she didn't know or trusted anywhere near her daughter, especially, without a shadow of a doubt, if that anyone was the king of the dark and dreary realm.
While the god of the Dead and the goddess of agriculture have known each other for a long time and had a shared past, that didn't mean that they got along. In fact, Namjoon could guarantee with a hundred percent certainty that he could count on one hand the number of people he got along well with, the large majority were treated with indifference unless they did something that grounded on his nerves.
Not to mention the reputation he carried, surely contributing to what Demeter actually thought of him.
The Lord of Riches was pulled out of his thoughts at the sound of a snapping branch, the feet stepping closer to the soil he was in. At the sight of who the person was, Namjoon started to back away as slowly and quietly as he possibly could, all the while keeping his eyes on her.
He could only hope that the leaves from the trees that covered the sunny sky would be enough to help hide his presence, he didn't want the goddess of flowers to see him, not like this. Not when this was the second time he was creeping on the woman when he was supposed to be forgetting indecent thoughts about her.
When the goddess stopped so did the god, both mimicking each other's stance of having a hand laying on the trunk of the tree and being entirely focused on the object that stole their attention, something that was completely unbeknownst to her.
"Finally, some time to be alone," she released in a deep breath, cracking her neck from side to side. "Too bad it can't be for longer."
Kore spun around the tree, the very same one he had previously been standing next to, keeping her eyes on the green leaves that, although covered the entire sky, still let various rays of sunlight through, making the goddess look more divine in his eyes.
After some time, it could've been minutes or even hours but to the god none of that mattered, she stopped spinning and focused her sight on the foliage, her hand never leaving the trunk as Namjoon waited with bated breath for the goddess's next move.
Her hand slid down the stem until it reached its roots and closed her eyes, scrunching her eyebrows in concentration.
Not long after Kore opened her eyelids and smiled at the sight.
Namjoon however had been so entranced by the goddess beaming that it wasn't until he turned his vision towards the top of the tree that he understood the reason, on its branches magnolias of various colors started to bloom, each flower standing out against the leaves as if they were the brightest stars that filled the night sky.
His eyes widen in amazement, a smile forming on his lips just as wide, although having seen the goddess raise daisies from the ground the previous night, seeing her make flowers appear made his heart flutter, and the fact that it had been done on the tree he had been standing next to made his heart beat even more rapidly.
It almost felt like a sign in his eyes, a sign that the cosmos were not only affirming his sudden feelings towards her, but that, maybe, they were also reassuring him that the goddess of flowers would reciprocate them.
He shook his head at such thoughts and away from the scene. "These are all but delusions," the god whispered to himself.
It felt wrong to have such thoughts and feelings about someone he hadn't even talked to once, taking special consideration that he still had no idea who the bringer of death was and what importance they would play in his life. But it felt even worse to deny his emotions.
The king of the Underworld turned to look at Kore once more, finding her on the tip of her toes and struggling to catch the magnolias she had created, of which he gripped tightly on the tree he was next to, in order to stop himself from moving and help her.
After collecting enough flowers, of which to the god seemed enough to make three bouquets, the goddess left and returned to the nymphs, and as she left he saw the shadow of a shy smile on her lips.
Namjoon waited for a couple of minutes before stepping out from behind the tree and walking towards the now magnolia tree.
Being careful has to not be spotted the god of the Dead reached for the branches and carefully picked a dozen of the magnolias whose color reminded him of their creator, six whites and six pinks, and once he was done the king turned around to return to the Underworld, leaving the meadow as silently as he had arrived.
Once in his realm, the Lord of Riches did his best to hide the bouquet and to avoid engaging in conversation with anyone, taking extra precaution just on the off-chance that the daimon of non-violent death would be the one to find him.
As he passed through the palace halls on the way to his bedroom, a servant going the opposite direction stumbled upon him, bowing quickly at his king once his eyes fell on the god.
The king cursed under his breath before turning to face the servant, his expression blank but his eyes with a fiery burn in them. "Bring a vase of water to my room, preferably water from the Upperworld,"
He saw the eyes of the servant widen at his demand before turning from them to continue his path towards his bedroom.
"W-water? F-from the U-Upperworld? B-but my Lord -"
"Tell Cerberus I was the one that sent you and keep your mouth shut about this, especially to Thanatos," the king interrupted, turning to the servant and staring at them with a piercing gaze. "Do I make myself clear?"
The servant lower their shoulders in defeat and bowed to their king. "Y-yes my Lord,"
With that the god of the Dead walked a couple more steps before entering his room, shutting the door behind him a bit more forcefully than intended.
He released a deep breath, cracking his neck before carefully pulling the bouquet of magnolias out of its hiding spot and putting it, just as carefully, on top of his dresser, next to the crown made of daisies.
He kept his eyes on his flower collection as he walked backward until his legs hit the foot of the bed, causing him to sit on it.
The king had his elbows resting on his knees, his fingers intertwined with one another, his gaze intentionally on the flowers as his mind circled through the events that had occurred the past two days.
When the god had first stepped into the meadow his intention truly was to completely forget about the goddess, but now the situation had changed.
Now that he had found the general area where she spent a large portion of her time, he knew that he would visit the Upperworld more often, all just so he could have a glimpse of her in order to settle his thoughts.
Or at least, that was what the Lord of Riches was telling himself.
With a sigh Namjoon lowered his head, his fingers moving to grip at his hair, as the god felt himself slowly drifting into madness. "What the fuck is wrong with me?"

BTS as Greek Deities !
(Don’t take this seriously Im just feeling silly)
Seokionysus / Dionyjin Nameus Hagi / Yoonades Helioseok Jiminolus / Hermin Hestae Arekoo / Junkratos
Seokjin is Dionysus Why? -I think it makes sense. And I want to draw Jin holding wine glasses a lot more ,,,, Seokjin has golden irises that reflects the sunlight
Namjoon is Coeus Why? -Coeus was the Titan of Intelligence, so. Also I think pairing joon as Athena is overrated. Namjoon has sapphire indigo irises. Yknw like the one colour theme from his solo album,,
Yoongi is hypnos and hades Why? -Always portrayed as the “bad guy” but actually is good. Hades is also the king of the underworld,, a king,, it makes sense. Yoongi has pure void eyes with occasional star like twinkles swimming around.
Hoseok  is apollo or helios and elpis Why? -Apollo, bc God of poetry. And it’s cool to think Hoseok wielding a bow. Helios, bc duh, personified sun. And Elpis, bc she’s the embodiment of hope. Hoseok’s eyes are pure white and they glow.
Jimin is hermes or aeolus (both actually) Why? -Both air related. We always call mimi a fairy, and what do fairies do? FLY. And also i think wings on the ankle design r quite cool. Jimin has one grey eye that glazed, which made him look half blind but actually hes not. Jimins other eye is dark. idk what colour yet tho, just darker. maybe a darker shade of grey like a stormcloud’s?
Taehyung is hestia Why? -He’s the embodiment of comfort and cozy, she’s the Greek goddess of the hearth, home and fire.  Taehyung has deep hazel irises, not different from his real ones
Jungkook is ares (and also kratos) Why? -…I just want to draw jungkook wielding a spear tbh.  Jungkook has deep red/amber eyes that seemed fiery.
Again don’t take this seriously, just for fun :3 This is what my 2am thoughts consists of.
While you’re here, why not look at this Seokionysus art I did

ACT VII.
I sat on the couch, legs tucked beneath me, a warm cup of chamomile tea cradled in my hands. The steam swirled lazily upward, its warmth brushing against my face, but it did little to deafen the icy unease settled deep in my chest. The living room was quiet, save for the faint hum of the fridge in the kitchen, and the dim light of the lamp cast long shadows on the walls.
I tried to focus on the comfort of the moment—the familiar scent of tea, the way the soft blanket draped over my shoulders—but my thoughts were too loud. They dragged me back to earlier in the day, to the moment everything shifted.
I had come home tired, the weight of the day pressing heavily on my shoulders. Everything that had happened in the last two days has mentally drained me. First it was Tina's death, then Jungkook's captiveness by the police. My mind was a mess and I could barely function, let alone focus on my work daily tasks. All I wanted was to sink into my comfy bed with Hades by my side, maybe order takeout, and forget the world existed for a while.
But the moment I opened the door, my breath caught in my throat.
My apartment was wrecked.
Drawers had been yanked out and emptied onto the floor. Books and papers were strewn everywhere, cushions slashed open, their stuffing spilling out like entrails. Even my little plant by the window lay tipped over, its soil scattered across the hardwood floor.
My heart raced as I stepped inside, each careful footfall crunching against the debris of my once-safe haven. The smell of something sharp and chemical lingered in the air, making me feel nauseous.
And then it hit me. This wasn’t random. This wasn’t a burglary.
I had barely processed the thought when a new fear gripped me. “Hades?” My voice trembled as I called out. “Hades, where are you?”
The silence was deafening.
Frantically, I searched the apartment, stepping over shattered glass and overturned furniture. “Hades!” I shouted, my voice rising in panic. My chest tightened as I realized he wasn’t there. The mess suddenly felt suffocating, the walls closing in on me. I had watched enough scary movies to know that even the innocent animals were taken or worse, killed. I felt my blood bumping in my ears as my breath hitched. I squeezed my bag, looking around as if the world around me was squeezing. Tears pricked at my eyes, and I was on the verge of collapse when a knock at the door startled me.
I swung it open to find my neighbor, Mrs.Cordelia, the kind woman who lived two doors down, holding Hades in her arms. Relief washed over me like a wave as I saw his familiar face, his tail wagging furiously.
“I found him wandering in the hallway,” she said gently, handing him over. “He looked scared, poor thing. Are you alright? Your place…" her green eyes shifted over the mess behind me, her face immediately changed into one of concern, "Oh my, dear! It looks like someone broke in!” She exclaimed, then glanced at me. "Do you want to call the police?"
Clutching Hades to my chest, I began sobbing quietly. His small wet nose brushed over my cheek and warm licks licked off the tears that streamed down my face. “Thank you,” I whispered, my voice barely audible. “Thank you so much.”  My voice was shaking as I held him. He was the most important to me and I'd be lost if something happened to Hades. I swallowed shakily, finally processing Mrs.Cordelia's question.  "N-no need, ma'am. Uh, I will deal with the mess here." Partly, I was afraid of calling the police, they wouldn't do much and from what I could see, the bulglar did not left any tracks behind them. It'd be a lost cause.
She hesitated, her concern evident. “If you need help, or if you want me to stay for a bit, just let me know. You shouldn’t be alone after something like this.”
I managed a small, grateful smile. “I’ll be okay. Really, thank you again.”
As the door clicked shut behind her, I sank to the floor, holding Hades tightly. The familiar weight of him on my lap grounded me, but my mind was racing. Whoever had broken in was searching for something, and it didn’t take a genius to figure out what.
Tina’s journal.
My eyes flicked to my bag whom I had just dropped on the ground seconds ago, this was where I had hidden it and it was still untouched thankfully. They hadn’t found it—yet. But I knew this was far from over. I realized the danger I was in, yet my pride refused to give up and seek help from the police.
I took a deep breath, forcing myself to focus. My apartment wasn’t safe anymore, and Hades wasn’t safe either. This wasn’t just a robbery—it was a message.
And I needed to figure out what came next.
The faint scent of lavender from the fabric softened the tension thrumming through my body, but my mind was still racing. Hades lay at my feet, his head resting on his paws as if he could sense I needed his calming presence.
The muffled sound of running water stopped, and a few moments later, Rya emerged from the bathroom, her damp hair tied up in a towel and an oversized hoodie falling just above her knees. She carried a casual ease, but I could see the worry etched in her features as she walked over and plopped down onto the couch beside me.
“You okay?” she asked, folding her legs underneath her and leaning her head against the couch’s backrest. “I mean, as okay as you can be after… everything?”
I exhaled slowly, trying to piece together an answer that didn’t feel like a lie. “I don’t know. It’s still sinking in, I guess.”
She nodded, her expression softening. “I can’t believe someone actually broke in. You must have been terrified.”
“Terrified doesn’t even begin to cover it,” I admitted, my voice shaky. “The apartment was a complete mess. And Hades—when I couldn’t find him, I thought…” I swallowed hard, unable to finish the sentence.
Rya reached out, placing a reassuring hand on my knee. “But he’s safe now, and so are you. That’s what matters.”
I gave her a small nod, though the tightness in my chest remained. “Thank you, Rya. I don’t know what I would’ve done if you hadn’t picked up my call.”
Her lips quirked into a small, empathetic smile. “Of course, Y/N. What are friends for? You can stay here as long as you need.”
For the first time that night, I let out a small laugh, though it came out more like a sigh. “You sure you’re not going to regret having me and a very anxious dog invade your space?”
She grinned. “Are you kidding? Hades is the least of my worries. He’s adorable. You, on the other hand, might be a little high-maintenance.”
I rolled my eyes, a faint smile tugging at the corners of my mouth. “I promise not to hog the couch or eat all your snacks.”
“Good, because I don’t share my ice cream,” she teased, then her tone grew serious. “But really, Y/N, do you have any idea who could’ve done this? Why someone would target you?”
I hesitated, my hands tightening around the edge of the blanket. “I… I think it’s because of the journal.”
Rya’s eyebrows shot up. “Tina’s journal? You think this has something to do with that?”
I nodded, my stomach twisting as I thought about it. “It has to be. Whoever broke in was looking for something specific. They didn’t even take my laptop or jewelry. They tore through the place like they were searching for something hidden.”
Her expression darkened, her lips pressing into a thin line. “Y/N, if someone’s after that journal, it’s not safe for you to keep it. You need to tell someone—maybe the police or…”
“Or who, Rya?” I interjected, my voice rising. “It’s not like I can waltz into the station and hand it over without explaining where I got it. And that’ll lead to questions I don’t have answers to.”
She sighed, rubbing her temples. “Okay, fair point. But you can’t just sit on this thing like it’s some kind of secret treasure. Whoever broke in isn’t going to stop because they didn’t find it the first time.”
“I know,” I whispered, my voice barely audible. “I know.”
Silence stretched between us, the weight of the situation pressing down like a heavy fog. Hades let out a small whine, breaking the tension as he nudged my leg with his nose.
Rya watched him for a moment, her expression softening. “We’ll figure this out, okay? You’re not alone in this.”
Her words carried a warmth that made my throat tighten. “Thanks, Rya. I don’t think I’ve said it enough, but… I really appreciate you.”
She waved me off with a smile. “Don’t get all mushy on me now. I’d do the same thing for Hades.”
I laughed, the sound lighter this time, and for a moment, the weight of the world didn’t feel so suffocating.
But as the night deepened and Rya retreated to her bedroom, I couldn’t shake the feeling that this was only the beginning. Whoever had broken into my apartment wasn’t going to give up easily. And I needed to figure out what Tina’s journal was hiding—before it was too late.
-
The next morning came far too soon. My eyes felt gritty from lack of sleep, and my body ached from tossing and turning all night. Every time I closed my eyes, the memory of my ransacked apartment replayed in vivid detail. The thought of someone invading my space left a lingering sense of unease that refused to dissipate.
Rya, ever the early riser, had already made us coffee by the time I emerged from the spare bedroom. She offered me a tired smile, her damp hair falling in waves around her shoulders.
“You look like you didn’t sleep a wink,” she said, handing me a mug.
“Because I didn’t,” I muttered, taking a sip and savoring the bitter warmth. “I kept thinking about what happened. And then I started worrying about it happening to you.”
She rolled her eyes playfully. “Please. I’m not the one carrying a target on my back right now. If they want to mess with me, they’ll regret it.” Her words were light, but I caught the edge of concern in her tone.
We left her apartment together, stepping into the chilly morning air. The ride to work was quiet, but my mind wasn’t. Every shadow, every person walking by, felt like a threat. By the time we arrived at the office, my nerves were stretched thin.
Hoseok greeted us with his usual sunny smile, but his expression quickly shifted to concern as he noticed my face.
“Whoa, what happened?” he asked, standing from his desk.
Rya stepped in, her voice quiet. “Someone broke into Y/N’s apartment last night. She stayed with me.”
Hoseok’s brows furrowed, and he glanced at me. “Are you okay? Did they take anything?”
I shook my head, sighing. “They weren’t there to steal. It was more like they were searching for something. They trashed the place, but nothing’s missing.”
His frown deepened. “You think it’s connected to Tina’s journal?” I frowned and turned around toward Rya. "You told him?!" Her face changed into one of shock and then regret, "Sorry, Y/N, I accidentally blurted it out to him last night on the phone." "You know that the more people know about this, the more in danger you all become." I snapped but regretted it, Rya was a good person with a kind heart, but I definitely was scared for Hoseok and her now.
Before we could say more, a voice chimed in from behind us.
“Someone broke in your apartment last night?”
I turned to see Yoongi leaning casually against the edge of his desk, his dark eyes sharp with something I couldn't recognize. Was it concern?Annoyance? I hadn’t even noticed him nearby.
“None of your business." I muttered, turning around to look at Hoseok who had his eyebrows raised. I heard footsteps behind me until I felt warmth all over my entire back. He was standing there, wasn't he? "This was the same night where I drove you back to your place, wasn't it?" he muttered in a flat tone. My heart raced, I could catch a scent off his cologne.  "Stop asking me questions, this does not concern you." "The hell it fucking does." his voice became raspy and deep. Rya kept glancing at me and Yoongi who stood behind me. I didn't really want to turn around. Deep annoyed sigh escaped my lips as I turned around to face him finally. "No, it does not. Just. . . just be focused on getting our Boss out of jail, please?" He kept staring at me and didn't even reply to my plead. Yoongi's face remained blank, hands crossed against his chest. I could see his jaw locking tightly.  "How about you do not tell me what to fucking do? I told you to be careful, didn't I? You will be staying at my place from now on. I can keep an eye on you and on that damn journal you got yourself involved with." "Yoongi," I spoke lowly, "I am NOT staying with you." He took a step forward, towered over me, his face was close to mine and I felt my cheeks heaten.  "Oh yes you are. Staying with Rya puts her in danger too. I, on the other hand, know how to protect myself and protect you from this bullshit you got into. So don't even dare to fight with me right now." I exhaled sharply through my nose but then I remembered I was at the office, Hoseok and Rya were watching us with wide eyes, some people passing by also kept staring at us. My eyes closed for a moment as I tried to calm the rage bubbling deep inside of me, before I replied. "Fine." I spoke lowly, only to get him off my back. "I will stay with you. Happy?" I gritted my teeth and turned to glance at Hoseok and Rya. "Come on, let's grab coffee at the cafeteria." "S-sure," both of them grabbed my hands and dragged me down the hall as Yoongi stood there, staring at us until we disappeared around the corner. "Y/N, what the hell was that?" Rya asked hushedly. "What do you mean?" "There is a LOT sexual tension between you two." Hoseok added in with a smug smirk on his face. I scowled at him. "The fuck you are on about. He is an ass and he thinks that after he is a rich son of a conglomerate he gets to treat people like properties. I despise him." "Yet you agreed to stay with him?" Rya muttered, teasing me. "I only did that to get him off my back. He would be forgetting about it by the end of the day." I could hear them both giggle as we walked into the cafeteria. Did they not believe me? Gosh, those two annoyed the hell out of me sometimes.
-
The meeting room was filled with tension, the air thick with unspoken words. I sat at the long conference table, my hands resting on the surface, fingers drumming nervously against the polished wood. To my right was Rya, who seemed deep in thought, her eyes flickering between the others in the room. Across from me sat Hoseok, his usual carefree demeanor nowhere to be found, replaced by a cool, determined expression.
And then there was Gina—her eyes hard, and posture stiff. She was the one who had invited Hoseok to that masquerade ball, only to be turned down cold. I could almost feel her resentment lingering in the air, even though the others were too polite to address it directly.
The room fell silent as Yoongi walked into the conference room, his usual calm but imposing presence commanding attention. He cleared his throat before speaking.
“As you all know, Jungkook’s departure leaves us with a gap in leadership,” Yoongi began, his voice steady but with an edge of authority. “Until he returns, I will be taking over the company on a temporary basis. But more importantly, we need to address the immediate future of the team."
My heart skipped a beat. The room was tense, everyone waiting for what would come next.
Yoongi’s gaze shifted to Hoseok. “Hoseok," he said, his tone not giving anything away, "you will be stepping up as the new direct manager for the team.”
A gasp escaped Gina's lips, her eyes wide in shock. Rya shifted slightly, her gaze darting between Yoongi and Hoseok. I held my breath. Hoseok didn’t flinch, though. He nodded, his usual warmth replaced by a seriousness I wasn’t used to seeing from him.
“I understand,” Hoseok replied, his voice steady, though there was a flicker of something deeper behind his eyes. “I’ll do my best.”
I couldn’t help but wonder what was going through his mind—this wasn’t just about Tina’s death, it was about filling a role that many had doubted he could handle. The weight of responsibility suddenly seemed to settle over him, but there was no doubt he would rise to the challenge. Still, I knew he didn’t expect it to be this soon.
Gina crossed her arms, her gaze narrowing. "So, Hoseok, you’ll just… step into Tina’s shoes?" she asked, a hint of disbelief in her voice.
Yoongi’s eyes flickered to her, his expression unreadable. "It's not a choice, Gina," he said quietly, "it's what's needed. And no need for worry, I have discussed this with Jungkook already."
There was a long pause. The room seemed to hold its breath, the silence almost unbearable. I wanted to speak, to say something, but the words just wouldn’t come. I knew what this meant for all of us—for Hoseok especially—but the uncertainty of the future weighed heavy on my chest.
“I’ll take it on,” Hoseok said after a moment, standing from his chair. His voice was firm now, as if the decision had been made in his heart, and he was ready to carry the burden.
I looked at him, trying to read his expression, but he was already focused on the task at hand. I couldn’t help but admire his resolve, even though I knew this would be a difficult road ahead. As the room buzzed with quiet murmurs and Yoongi began laying out the next steps, my thoughts drifted.
I couldn’t help but wonder what was going to happen next. The meeting continued with a few new clients joining in, Yoongi was oddly prepared and I couldn't help but wonder if Jungkook had given him all the information. My mind drifted to my Boss again. I could imagine him sitting in his cell, awaiting for a miracle to happen. My heart raced. There has to be something that proves his innocence. Anything. . .
Yoongi's voice brought me back to reality.
"You gonna keep sitting there, Y/N?" he muttered, his eyes boring into mine. I blinked a few times only to realize that the room was now empty. Yoongi and I were the only ones left. Fuck. Soft sigh escaped my lips as I rose up and collected my papers without paying much mind to him.
"Hey, talk to me." I heard his footsteps approaching and I froze. Slowly turning around, our eyes met. "You good?"
"Peachy. Move." I muttered, trying to pass by him, yet a grip on my arm stopped me. I swallowed thickly as I felt his fingers curl around my elbow.
"Can you tell me what the fuck is going on? Is it because I asked you to stay with me?" .  "Why does everything have to be about you, Yoongi? The situation itself is disasterous," I shot at him, pulling my hand away. "I don't trust you, and I won't be staying with you. I don't feel comfortable being around you, every second I look at your face I want to look away and disappear," I blurted out, stepping toward him. In my rage, I didn't care that we were close.
"You are too dumb to even realize the situation," he spoke out.
"Fuck off." I spoke out, pushing him and walking out of the office. I was blushing and fuming at the same time. That idiot. He thought he was the Boss now and everyone would bow at his fucking feet. I reached my desk and slammed the papers I held on it before I sat down and buried my face in my hands, clearly frustrated.
-
The workday finally came to a close, the tension still lingering in the air. I didn’t realize how much I’d been holding my breath until I stepped out of the meeting room, the weight of the new responsibilities hanging over Hoseok, and over all of us, like a storm cloud that refused to dissipate. I was exhausted, but the day wasn’t over yet.
Rya and I walked back to her place in silence, the streets unusually quiet as we made our way through the city. The only sounds were our footsteps and the occasional hum of passing cars. I could feel the heaviness of what was to come—Tina’s funeral was tomorrow and the cruel reality of her death still hard to grasp.
Rya had been distant, her mind clearly elsewhere, but when we reached her apartment, she greeted me with the same quiet, welcoming smile she always had. I let myself in, and immediately, Hades came bounding toward me, his large, fluffy form jumping up to greet me. I couldn’t help but smile as I leaned down to scratch behind his ears, the simple act of petting him somehow grounding me in the chaos.
“We’ll get through tomorrow,” Rya said, her voice soft as she shut the door behind us. "It’s hard, I know. But it’s over now."
I nodded, though I wasn’t sure if I was agreeing with her or just trying to convince myself. Tina had been a complicated figure in my life, a bully and a tormentor, but now—now she was gone. And that meant something. What exactly? I wasn’t sure.
The conversation died as Rya and I settled into the couch. Rya made tea, and I pulled out Tina's worn journal I kept hidden in my bag. Tina's death was still too fresh, and I wasn’t sure how to process it yet.
Before I could open the journal, there was a knock at the door. It was gentle, but I could tell it was someone who had a reason to be there. I stood up slowly, my gaze flicking to Rya. She raised an eyebrow and shrugged. I slowly opened the door and my eyes met with Hoseok's.
“Thought you two could use some company,” he said, standing in the doorway with a hesitant smile. He was in his usual casual wear—jeans and a hoodie—though there was a solemnity in his eyes that wasn’t usually there. Hades barked, running over to him, and Hoseok knelt down to pet him, a soft chuckle escaping his lips.
“Come on in,” Rya said, stepping aside. “You’re always welcome here.”
Hoseok nodded and stepped inside, taking a seat next to me on the couch. He seemed out of place, as if his mind was miles away, but his presence was comforting. The weight of the day seemed to lift a little with him there, and for a moment, I forgot about everything else.
We didn’t talk about the company or the changes Hoseok would face. Instead, we hung out like we always did. Rya made more tea, and we spent the next hour just talking—about life, about the things that made us laugh, about whatever came to mind. I caught myself smiling more than I had all day, my body relaxing as the warmth of the room filled me.
But then something caught Rya’s attention. She had been glancing out the window, her expression suddenly hardening as she stared into the night. I followed her gaze, and my heart skipped a beat.
Three men in black suits were standing just outside the building, pacing slowly around the entrance. They looked like they were waiting for something—or someone. I felt a chill run down my spine. There was something unnerving about their presence, their movements almost deliberate.
“What is it?” I asked quietly, already feeling the tension rising in my chest.
Rya didn’t answer immediately. She just kept watching them. Then, in a quiet voice, she muttered, “They don’t look good.”
I stood up, moving toward the window with her. The men weren’t doing anything threatening, but their presence felt off—like they were watching, waiting for something. The hair on the back of my neck stood on. I kept staring until one of the men glanced up and our eyes met. I took a few steps back. They looked like the damn mafia because I noticed that each one of them had tattoo on the back of their necks. "Should we call the police?" Hoseok asked. "I believe they are here to guard more than harm us." I muttered but I was unsure.  "I am gonna go and ask them who sent them." Hoseok stood up and before me and Rya could protest, he was out of the room. We turned around and waited until we saw Hoseok approach the three men. They stood taller than him which was quite intimidating from up here. Hoseok's face changed into pure surprise as they conversed back with him. Five minutes passed and Hoseok finally headed back into the building. Me and Rya looked at each other, then at Hoseok who just walked in. "What happened. Who were those people?" I asked, approaching him slowly.  "Yoongi sent them. They are here to guard."  "What?" I muttered and turned around to stare back at their figures. Yoongi sent them? So he was indeed involved in the mafia. Now that I think about it, after our little bicker at the meeting room I didn't hear much from him nor he approached me after that. So this was his plan? To send his gorillas to watch over us? Rya and Hoseok stared at me as I was clearly deep lost in thoughts. "I guess Yoongi does have a heart after all," Hoseok commented before flopping back on the couch as Hades jumped in his lap. I turned around to give him a glance, then back at Rya who shrugged her shoulders and joined Hoseok.  -
The rain was unrelenting, a steady rhythm against my umbrella that matched the dull ache in my chest. Everything felt muted, from the gray sky to the whispers of the wind through the trees. The priest’s voice carried over the gathering, solemn and heavy with meaning, but I couldn’t focus on the words. My mind wandered, my gaze fixed on the dark casket lowered into the ground. Tina’s family stood closest, their grief raw and exposed, a mirror to the ache none of us dared to show so openly.
I felt numb. Standing there, surrounded by my colleagues, I couldn't shake the surreal feeling that none of this was real. Tina was gone. She was really gone. The thought made my stomach churn, and my grip on the umbrella tightened. My mind drifted to the last time I’d seen her, how she tried to humiliate me in front of all those people, feeling so prideful of herself... Now, those moments were nothing but memories, fading with each passing second. I did not hold a grudge against her however, I had forgiven her already and was ready to move on with my next step in life. But the mere thought that death could take anyone, anytime made me question if I was actually living my life to the fullest.
The rain picked up, and a gust of wind threatened to flip my umbrella. I didn’t care. My thoughts were a storm of their own, louder than the priest’s speech, louder than the sobs around me. Why did it have to be her? Why did life have to be so cruel?
A presence nearby pulled me from my spiraling thoughts. I felt it before I saw it—warm, steady, and familiar in a way that startled me. Turning my head slightly, my eyes fell on him. Yoongi.
He stood a step behind me, an umbrella of his own shielding him from the rain, his dark suit blending into the dreary backdrop. His expression was unreadable, but when our eyes met, he spared me the briefest glance. It wasn’t much—just a flicker of acknowledgment—but it felt like an anchor, grounding me when I was moments away from being swept away by my thoughts.
For a moment, I wanted to say something, but the words tangled in my throat. Instead, I turned back toward the priest, the weight of Yoongi’s presence beside me somehow comforting. I didn’t feel so alone anymore.
The funeral ended with the soft murmurs of condolences and the muffled shuffle of footsteps on wet ground. People began to disperse, their umbrellas bobbing away in the gray mist. I stood still for a moment, watching Tina’s family linger by the grave, their grief a tangible weight that pressed on everyone who passed. I felt a pang of guilt as I turned away—I couldn’t bear to stay any longer.
Hoseok and Rya were waiting for me by the cemetery gates, their faces pale and drawn.
“Are you coming with us now?” Rya asked softly, her voice hoarse from crying. She gave me a weak, hopeful smile, her hand resting lightly on my arm.
I hesitated. “I think I should stop by my apartment first,” I said, trying to sound steadier than I felt. “Grab some things before I come over. I won’t be long.”
Hoseok looked concerned, his brows knitting together. “Are you sure you want to go alone? We can come with you.”
“No, it’s okay,” I said quickly, forcing a smile. “I’ll be fine. Really.”
They exchanged a glance but didn’t push further. “Alright,” Rya said gently. “Just... don’t take too long. We’ll wait for you.”
I nodded, thanking them before turning toward the parking lot. The rain had eased slightly, but the cold still clung to the air, making every step feel heavier. As I neared one of the parked cabs, I heard footsteps behind me. Glancing over my shoulder, I saw Yoongi approaching, his hands tucked into his coat pockets, his expression calm but unreadable.
“Yoongi?” I asked, stopping in my tracks. “What are you doing?”
He stopped a few steps away, tilting his head slightly as if the answer was obvious. “You’re heading to your apartment, right?” he said. “I’ll drive you.”
I blinked at him. “You don’t have to do that. I’ll be fine.”
“I know,” he replied simply. “But I want to. And I’ll go in with you. It’s late, and you shouldn’t be there alone.”
There was something about his tone—firm yet unassuming—that made it hard to argue. A part of me wanted to refuse, to insist that I didn’t need anyone’s help, but the exhaustion weighing me down won out.
“Okay,” I said quietly. “Thanks.”
He gave a small nod, motioning toward his car parked nearby. The drive to my apartment was quiet, the silence between us broken only by the soft hum of the engine and the occasional sound of tires splashing through puddles. I stared out the window, my mind swirling with a mix of emotions I couldn’t untangle. Yoongi didn’t press for conversation, and for that, I was grateful.
When we arrived, he parked by the curb and followed me up to my apartment. The air inside felt cold and stale, a sharp contrast to the warmth it used to hold. Everything was exactly as I’d left it, but it felt different now—lonelier.
I’ll just be a minute,” I said, stepping inside and flicking on the lights. Yoongi lingered near the door, his sharp eyes scanning the space.
“Take your time,” he said, leaning against the wall, his presence calm and steady.
I moved through the apartment, grabbing the essentials—a change of clothes, my toothbrush, my charger. But as I packed, the weight of everything began to creep back in.
I stopped in the middle of the room, gripping the edge of the counter as my chest tightened. Yoongi must have noticed because, before I could process it, he was standing beside me, his voice soft but firm.
“You don’t have to hold it together all the time,” he said.
His words broke something in me, and I let out a shaky breath, the tears I’d been holding back spilling over. I expected him to say more or simply let me be by leaving the room, but he didn’t. Instead, he stayed quiet, a solid presence beside me as I let the grief wash over me in waves.
The tears came fast, hot, and relentless, pouring out in a way I hadn’t let myself feel since it all happened. I tried to stifle the sobs, to keep it together, but the weight of everything—Tina’s empty desk, the funeral—broke through whatever fragile composure I had left. My shoulders shook as I leaned heavily on the counter, my hands gripping the edge like it was the only thing keeping me upright.
For a moment, Yoongi didn’t say anything. The silence between us stretched, filled only by the sound of my uneven breathing and the rain still drizzling outside. I wondered if he was regretting coming with me, if he was silently willing this moment to end. But then, I felt him move closer.
“I’m... not good at this,” he admitted, his voice low and hesitant, almost like he was speaking to himself. “But... you don’t have to do this alone.”
The words were simple, awkward even, but they struck something deep within me. I turned my head slightly, just enough to see him standing there, his hands stuffed in his coat pockets, his brows drawn together in concern. His usual calm demeanor was replaced with something softer, something almost unsure.
He hesitated for a moment before reaching out, his hand hovering near my shoulder as if he wasn’t sure whether to touch me or not. Eventually, he settled on a light, tentative pat, like he was testing the waters. It was almost laughable in its awkwardness, but somehow, it made me cry harder.
“Hey,” he said quickly, his voice rising just a little. “It’s okay. I mean, not okay—none of this is—but... you’re allowed to cry.” His hand stayed there, a steady, grounding weight on my shoulder. “I’m not going anywhere.”
There was something so painfully honest about the way he spoke, like he was trying so hard to say the right thing even if he didn’t know what it was. It wasn’t polished or rehearsed, but it was real, and that was enough.
“I just—” My voice cracked as I tried to speak. “She was a shitty person, but she didn’t deserve this.”
“I know,” he said softly, his tone steady now. “None of this makes sense. And it’s not fair. But...” He paused, searching for the right words. “It already happened and we must move on. You have to take care of yourself and what you do. Of your own future....”
I nodded, my tears slowing but still spilling over. His hand left my shoulder briefly, and I thought maybe he was stepping back, giving me space. Instead, he grabbed a tissue from a box on the counter and handed it to me, holding it out like it was some kind of peace offering.
“Here,” he said, his voice gruff. “You’re, uh... kind of a mess.”
Despite everything, I let out a choked laugh, taking the tissue and wiping at my face. “Thanks,” I muttered, my voice still shaky. “For stating the obvious.”
“You’re welcome,” he said, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. It was small, almost imperceptible, but it was there.
The heaviness in my chest hadn’t disappeared, but it didn’t feel quite as suffocating anymore. Yoongi didn’t fill the silence with empty platitudes or promises he couldn’t keep. He just stood there, awkward and quiet and real, and somehow, that was exactly what I needed.
-
As we stepped out of my apartment, the rain had lightened to a soft drizzle. Yoongi walked beside me, his pace measured, as if he wasn’t in a rush to leave. I wasn’t either, but I didn’t say anything. The lingering weight of my tears had left me feeling raw, but lighter somehow, as if letting it all out had taken a small part of the burden with it.
We got into his car, and I buckled my seatbelt, glancing at him as he started the engine. The drive to Rya’s place was quiet at first, the steady hum of the heater filling the space. My thoughts swirled, still caught in the strange, bittersweet moment we’d just shared, but something else tugged at the back of my mind.
I turned to look at him, the streetlights casting fleeting shadows across his face. “Yoongi,” I started, my voice breaking the silence.
“Hm?” he responded, his gaze fixed on the road ahead.
“The bodyguards.” My tone was even, but there was a pointed edge to it. “Why?”
For a second, his hands tightened on the wheel, a flicker of something crossing his face—surprise? Annoyance? It was hard to tell.
He shrugged, the motion nonchalant. “You figured that out, huh?”
“You’re not exactly subtle,” I said, raising an eyebrow. “They’ve been following me everywhere.”
“Good,” he replied without missing a beat, his voice calm but resolute. “That’s the point.”
I stared at him, waiting for an explanation, but he didn’t offer one. “Why?” I pressed. “Why did you send them? And don’t say it’s because you’re just being ‘nice.’”
His lips twitched, the barest hint of a smirk, but it faded quickly. “You didn’t agree to stay with me,” he said simply, glancing at me briefly before focusing back on the road. “I couldn’t just leave you to deal with everything alone. You’re... you’re too stubborn for your own good.”
I scoffed, crossing my arms. “So your solution was to have me followed?”
“It’s not following,” he corrected, his tone almost teasing. “It’s protecting. There’s a difference.”
I rolled my eyes. “I don’t need bodyguards, Yoongi. I’m fine.”
He didn’t respond immediately, and the air grew heavier with the weight of the conversation. Finally, he sighed, his voice quieter this time. “You might think you’re fine, but that doesn’t mean you don’t need someone looking out for you. Especially now.”
There was something in his tone—something softer, almost vulnerable—that caught me off guard. I opened my mouth to argue, but the words got stuck. Instead, I turned to look out the window, the city lights blurring as we passed them.
“I don’t know whether to be mad at you or grateful,” I muttered.
He let out a low chuckle, the sound warm and surprisingly comforting. “Why not both? Seems fair.”
Despite myself, I smiled a little, shaking my head. Typical Yoongi. Always doing things his way, even if it meant annoying me in the process.
The rest of the drive passed quietly, and when we pulled up to Rya’s apartment, he turned off the engine but didn’t make any move to get out immediately.
“Thanks,” I said softly, my hand resting on the door handle. “For the ride. And for... everything else.”
He gave me a small nod, his expression unreadable. “Take care of yourself, Y/N.”
I lingered for a moment before stepping out of the car, the rain now just a faint mist against my skin. As I walked toward the building, I glanced back briefly to see him watching me from the car, his face shadowed but his presence as steady as ever.
Rya’s apartment was warm and inviting, a stark contrast to the dreary night outside. The smell of freshly brewed tea wafted through the air as I stepped inside, and the sight of Hoseok and Rya’s familiar faces brought a strange mix of comfort and unease. They greeted me with soft smiles, though their eyes still held traces of the sorrow that lingered from the funeral.
“Hey,” Rya said gently, pulling me into a hug. “I’m glad you’re back, but it took you a while.”
She was referring to me being late. The images of me crying and Yoongi trying to comfort be flooded my mind and a fait blush crept across my cheeks but I decided to not say anything else.  "I had to figure out what to bring." I muttered a lame excuse.
Hoseok appeared behind her, his hands stuffed into the pockets of his hoodie. “You doing okay?” he asked, his voice laced with concern.
“As okay as I can be,” I admitted, forcing a faint smile.
“Well, you’re not alone,” he said, giving my shoulder a reassuring pat. “We’re here.”
The apartment felt cozy, with blankets draped over the couch and soft lighting from a few lamps scattered around the room. It was exactly the kind of space I needed—a temporary refuge from the chaos of my own life.
Rya ushered me into the kitchen, insisting I have some tea before settling in. I obliged, the warmth of the mug grounding me as we sat and talked about nothing in particular. Hoseok tried to lighten the mood with his usual humor, and while it didn’t completely lift the heaviness, it was enough to make me feel a little more human.
As the night wore on, the apartment grew quieter. Hoseok eventually left, giving me and Rya some space, and Rya retired to her room shortly after, leaving me alone with Hades in the living room. The small, neatly arranged space was calming, but my mind refused to quiet. I sat on the couch, staring at my bag where the journal was tucked away.
I told myself I wasn’t going to look at it tonight. I needed rest. But the pull of it was too strong, the questions it raised too loud to ignore. With a sigh, I reached into my bag and pulled it out, the leather cover worn and familiar under my fingers.
Flipping through the pages felt almost intrusive, even though I’d done it before. My eyes skimmed over the familiar handwriting, notes scrawled in a hurried script that hinted at Tina’s urgency. Names, places, fragments of thoughts—it was all there, a chaotic puzzle waiting to be solved.
And then, my breath hitched.
My eyes landed on a sentence, circled twice in a way that made it stand out among the cluttered text.
K told me everything will be okay. The deal would be closed and I don't need to worry, but why do I feel so uneasy as I roam at my apartment during the night? Almost as if someone's watching me.
I stared at it, my heart pounding in my chest. I couldn't figure out who that man with the letter K was. Soft sigh escaped my lips as I shook my head and closed the journal with a soft thud before putting it back in my bag and closing it securely.  -
I was sitting at my desk, the office buzzing around me with the usual chatter and the clinking of keyboards, trying to focus on the emails piling up. The weight of Tina’s journal still hung heavily on my mind, especially after the discovery last night. The letter 'K” was like a puzzle piece lodged somewhere deep in my brain, but it didn’t fit. Not yet.
My phone buzzed on my desk, breaking my thoughts. I glanced down at the screen and saw my parents’ name flash across it.
I sighed, rubbing my temples. It had been a while since I’d heard from them, and though it was never a bad thing, it felt like I had too many loose ends of my own to deal with. Still, I swiped to answer.
“Hey, Mom. Hey, Dad.”
“Y/N!” my mother’s voice came through. “We heard about your colleague's passing. Are you okay?”
“I’m okay, Mom,” I said, trying to keep the exhaustion out of my voice. “Just... busy with work." There was a silence to the other side of the line, I could feel that my answer wasn't satisfactory for them nor did they believe me. "Sweetheart, are you sure you are okay?" I wasn't. Not really. My apartment was trashed, I am staying at a friend's place for the time being and I hold a journal that has a target on my back. No, I am not okay. But I wasn't going to tell them all of this. They'd flip and arrive with the first flight here and I did not want their appearance to complicate things and potentially put a target on their backs too.
“Yes, Mom. Just... work has it's toll on me." "Have you been taking care of yourself? Eating enough and sleeping enough?" I rolled my eyes, leaning back on my chair as I rubbed my temple. "Yes, Mom." "Good, good. So, how's Taehyung?"
"He is fine, we went out during the weekend and spent some quality time together” "Oh, that's lovely. You and him should visit us for the holidays!"  "I am unsure, work here is a killer and I need to finish some project before New Year's Eve." I lied. "I am hoping you'd visit us, you know. It's been a year since we've seen you." I swallowed thickly. "Well, when I get the chance, I will visit." I heard rustling from the other side of the line, "Remember when you were a kid and Taehyung used to steal your dolly toy? It was hilarious, you'd throw whatever you find at him." I heard my dad chuckle and my mom did the same too. "Yeah, I remember." "You were such a feisty child back then, I swear. You also used to have trouble saying Taehyung’s name,” my dad continued. “So you’d always call him ‘Kim.’ You couldn’t quite say his full name, and I think you just got used to calling him that.”
I froze, the cup of coffee in my hand going still. "Wait, what?" "Silly girl, you don't remember it? Taehyung liked it so much that everyone started calling him Kim."
The memory hit me like a rush of cold water. Was he possibly the one Tina referred as K in her journal. I felt my breath hitch. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. What if it was?!
I nodded absently, my mind racing. “Yeah. Mom, Dad, something came up, I’ll talk to you later, okay? Love you.”
Before they could say anything more, I hung up, my thoughts swirling in a chaotic storm. Kim. The letter "K." That name had been haunting me for days. The man behind the cryptic letter, the one who had been tied to Tina’s journal—the “K” who had promised everything would be okay...
My hands were shaking slightly as I grabbed Tina’s journal from my bag, flipping through the pages until I landed on the sentence I had found last night. My heart pounded as I read the words again, my eyes scanning the haunting sentence:
K told me everything will be okay. The deal would be closed and I don't need to worry, but why do I feel so uneasy as I roam at my apartment during the night? Almost as if someone's watching me.
Taehyung.
The unease that had crawled through Tina’s words—the feeling of being watched—was too similar to what I had experienced, too unsettling to ignore. Had Tina been trying to warn me? Was she afraid of him?
No, this couldn't be true. There was no way Taehyung would be involved with Tina's murder. He was a kind gracing soul, his eyes sparkled when he smiles and he has the brightest energy. I refused to believe this. Fuck. I was so frustrated that I wanted to cry. Jungkook was rotting at the police station and I felt my hands were tied. -
A week had passed since the call with my parents, and the chaos surrounding Tina's death had only escalated. The media was in full frenzy, throwing every possible theory into the spotlight. They were relentless, accusing Jungkook, linking his name to the case, and bombarding every source with questions. The headlines screamed: Jungkook: The Man Behind Tina's Murder? Did Jungkook Have a Motive? Tina’s Death: The Dark Truth Behind the Hidden Relationship. It felt like the world was spinning out of control, the noise growing louder, and my head throbbed from the constant barrage of speculation.
I couldn’t bring myself to buy into the media's narrative, though. I knew Jungkook, and something about it didn’t sit right. The accusations seemed premature, reckless even. Still, I couldn’t ignore the mounting pressure to find some kind of answer. I was still in heavy denial that Taehyung was the man with the letter K which Tina referred to in her journal. Speaking of Tae, he tried to contact me a few times in the past week but I either ignored his calls or picked up to tell him I was busy. I didn't wish to talk to him right now.
After days of sifting through Tina’s journal and chasing after dead ends, I felt more lost than ever. There was no concrete evidence, no undeniable proof to tie anyone to Tina’s death. I’d met with the police a few times but nothing was helping. They’d brushed off my theories—rightfully so, in hindsight—leaving me to wonder if I was grasping at straws. I was on the edge of giving up, frustrated, exhausted, and feeling hopeless.
It was late in the afternoon when a small white envelope appeared at my office. No return address. No name. Just a plain piece of paper that seemed ordinary, yet I couldn't shake the unease that washed over me. I hesitated for a moment before opening it, wondering who would send me something anonymously.
Inside was a single photograph. My breath caught in my throat when I saw it.
The picture was grainy, clearly taken from a distance. It showed Tina standing in front of her apartment building, the night she was murdered. The time stamped at the bottom of the image was just moments before her estimated time of death. She was talking to someone. The man was standing close to her, but his face was obscured by a black umbrella, as if to shield himself from the rain.
I squinted at the image, my heart beating faster. But then, my eyes narrowed at something else. A dark scar on the man’s wrist. His hand was gripping the umbrella, and the scar was visible just below his sleeve—large, jagged, and unmistakable. It stood out in stark contrast to the rest of his arm. Everything else was shrouded in shadow. His face, his body—everything but that scar and the way his hand gripped the umbrella.
I felt my hands tremble as I turned the photograph over, hoping for any sort of clue written on the back. But there was nothing. No note. No further explanation.
The realization hit me like a ton of bricks.
This wasn’t just any man. This was someone Tina had been with right before her death, someone she clearly knew. But who? And why was his face hidden? Why was there only a scar on his wrist to identify him?
The dark scar—it was familiar, somehow. I racked my brain, my thoughts racing. Where had I seen something like that before?
The answer hit me suddenly, like a flicker of a memory I’d buried. The scar on his wrist... it was so similar to the one I had seen on someone else.
I stumbled back from my desk, gripping the edge as my head spun.
I couldn’t waste time second-guessing. I needed to find out who this man was, and fast. I needed to know if the scar was really the key to unlocking everything. Could it be a coincidence? Or was it part of something far more dangerous?
I shoved the picture into my bag, heart pounding in my chest, a new sense of urgency coursing through me. Time was running out. The mystery was growing darker, and I was one step closer to something much bigger than I could have imagined.
I had to keep going. There was no turning back now.
My heart raced as I clutched the photo tightly in my bag, the urgency driving me forward. I had to get to Taehyung’s law firm—he had to know something. The scar on the man’s wrist... I couldn’t shake the feeling that it was the missing link, the connection that would tie everything together. I had no time to waste, not when the pieces were finally starting to fall into place.
I moved quickly through the city streets, the damp air clinging to my skin, the sounds of traffic and people filling the space around me. My mind was consumed with the photo, with the potential answers it held, but as I crossed the busy intersection, something felt off. My senses were heightened, like a tightrope walker balancing between instinct and logic.
I barely noticed the car speeding toward me until it was too late.
A sudden screech of tires, the blinding flash of headlights. My body tensed as I tried to step back, but it was too fast—too close. Everything happened in a blur. My heart skipped a beat. I felt the impact, the jolt of the car against my side, sending me crashing into the pavement.
Pain exploded through my body, sharp and overwhelming, but it was the darkness that came next that consumed me. A deep, suffocating blackness, pulling me in from all sides.
I couldn’t breathe, couldn’t see, couldn’t think. The world around me disappeared, replaced by the weight of nothingness. My mind felt as though it had been ripped away from my body, trapped in a void that seemed endless.
I wanted to scream, wanted to fight, but there was nothing—just silence.
Everything faded away.

Also my bestie Bella is coming india so it's gonna be fun our flight in two days on 16th September and Bella's flight is on 20th we are goin early because it's been a year since I have gone there so.
Time skip
Finally we have landed in Indian it was tiring I was looking around when I felt a muscular arm around my waist I was about punch whoever it has but I recognise the smell it was jungkook he back hugged me and told "let's go home or u just wanna stand here" then I realised that I have been zoned out for five minutes " ok ok let's go my brother would be waiting " I said jungkook took our luggage nd now we were hading out soon we saw my brother standing in distance with my sister in law he saw me and had a cute smile on his face I quickly ran toward him and hug him I missed him so much "I still want to live yeah leave me " I let go the hug and pinch him on his arm " ahhh yeah u we're hugging me so tight that I can't even breathe " he said I laughed  then hugged my sister in law
Time skip
After getting home it was already late so we slept
Next morning
I woke up early as it is my habit to
I go the bathroom and did my morning routine then I go to downstairs then I heard some sound from kitchen I go there and saw my mom cooking breakfast for all of us with my aunt
I go there and hugged her from back she Flinched lil bit " go and tell everyone that breakfast is ready" my mom said I then go to my dads room I saw him sitting in balcony reading newspaper I go there and told him to get downstairs I was about to go but then i was suddenly pulled on the bed I was on jungkook he was about to kiss me then we suddenly heard knock I can see that how pissed jungkook of this 😂 I just chuckled lightly soon I stood up open the door just see my bro with annoying face too "mom told u call everyone downstairs " he said with cute anger on his face then we went downstairs and then had breakfast
Time skip on 20th September
Finally I am as going to meet my bestie after 7 years
Right now we walking to waiting area it was me ,jungkook and Bella's mom . Jungkook was happy that he finally got some time alone in the Indian household 😂
We were waiting when we saw the familiar face then we realised that it was Bella I quickly ran to her and hug her so tight I missed her so much. Then we let go the hug and I meet harry ,Bella's Fiance they are engaged. After lil talk we all got home and yes we all live in same house getting home we were greeted with chocolate's
Lately I have so much weird types of carving
And also morning sickness I think it's because of change in the atmosphere🤷🏻‍♀️.
Time skip evening
We all were talking and the best part was there were also our old bestie's and our cousin while talking we Decided to play td(truth dare) after few rounds it finally landed on jungkook I was a bit worried as my friends are worst u know what I mean 😭 he took truth and 😮‍💨 it was easy
