Review of ‘Haddi’: Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Anurag Kashyap Starrer Tries Marrying Masala-Myths and Artistry-Mastery and Results are Mixed

It is no less than remarkable that within this ‘good-went-evil-to avenge’ formulae, bone smuggling, highway crimes, double crosses and political maneuvering marry to the plot with ease. All these could have led to a chaos but, with immense help from actors and some good staged moments, all these lead to final duel which is a fitting conclusion. That pre-climax to climax stretch justifies…

At the beginning of 2023, I made a resolution to make more art that wasn't just D&D assets (lol) At the end of 2023 when I did my art review, a whole 4 of those 12 pieces that I was the weren't D&D assets. Mind you I did still draw a LOT last year and my art has improved quite a bit!

But I think the problem was my goal was too vague.

So this year I have a more specific goal. And it ties in nicely with having a brand new computer that needs brand new desktop wallpapers to go with it :P

So I present to you "SpeedPaint Saturday" on the first Saturday of each month I will have painted and recorded a new painting that isn't for D&D assets (though D&D characters are fair game and frankly, highly, highly likely to feature in at least 90% of them)

So with that said, here is my painting for January 2024:

Featuring my character Haddy, and Kop and Morpha, who both belong to @vwildmonk, committing some arson. As you do.

Mikaela at Haddie: “i'm weird, just deal with it.”

GIRLFRIENDS GIRLFRIENDS GIRLFRIENDS

Mikaela woke up earlier than usual and decided to actually cook breakfast for once. With her big hair in a messy bun she hummed silently as she silently began preparing a meal for her and Haddie who was still sleeping at the moment. She worked better with music so she put in some air pods as she cracked the egg into the butter lined skillet to begin cooking.

If it was the old Mikaela the oven top would be blasted on high and the egg cooked instantly (though half burnt in the process) but, thanks to Haddie she’s learned to cook a little slower and even add a little flavor to stuff. She swayed her hips as she moved about the kitchen looking for the homemade chili powder she’s been perfecting for Haddie’s high spice tolerance.

It’s been an adventure growing such spicy peppers for cooking and such Mikaela was used to growing only herbs and flowers but since moving into the house she had a proper garden now for food. She made silly airplane noises as she pulled the spice out and “flew” it back to the frying pan where she seasoned the half cooked egg. She took a step back and lifted her hand in the air with a big goofy grin. Unknown to her though, Haddie was leaning on the kitchen doorway watching Mikaela be her odd self with a small smile. She made some odd anime power up sound and blasted the skillet with an invisible force.

“With power of the moon and sun flip!” She quickly grabbed the skillet and attempted to flip the egg which landed half way out of the skillet but with a squeak and another quick movement Mikaela managed to flop the egg fully into the skillet without breaking the yolk. She put her hands on her hips in triumph and made finger guns.

“Now who’s the best egg flipper now Hadd-” Haddie finally spoke up as she fully entered the kitchen and wrapped her arms around Mikaela kissing her shoulder.

“Still me dork now what in the world are you doing you little weirdo? What am I going to do with you….”

Mikaela jumped just a little and blushed with slight embarrassment as she giggled giving Haddie a peck in return.

“You knew what you were signing up for by dating me. I'm a little weird, you just gotta deal with it Hads.”

Haddie chuckled again and let her go so she could continue cooking. Haddie approached the coffee machine and began making coffee for her and Mikaela while Mikaela finished up the food. “ I don’t know….. I want to review the contract we have pumpkin spice. I don't think I signed up for this much silliness.”

Mikaela blew a raspberry at her with a giggle as she put the egg on toast and began cracking another one to make for herself.
