Feature Friday
Rogue One (2016)
A small group of misfits in the rebellion team up to steal the plans for a deadly space station. Filmed in England, Iceland, Jordan, and the Maldives.
Jyn Erso lives with her parents on a remote farm when their peaceful life is interrupted by Director Krennic. This farm was built on the side of a hill known as Hafursey northeast of Vik on the southern coast of Iceland.
When escaping the stormtroopers Jyn runs down a nearby valley.
The various bits of Jedha are filmed around the Jordanian protected wilderness area Wadi Rum.
Rogue One lands on Scarif and the rebels run through the woods to spread out and cause chaos. These lines of trees are a tree farm on the island of Berasdhoo in Haddhunmathi Atoll in the Maldives.
Jyn, Cassian, and K-2SO infiltrate the Imperial base which was partially constructed in the Canary Wharf Underground Station in London.
The rebels fight against the imperial forces on the beaches of Bileitheyrahaa and surrounding islands back in the Maldives.

Isdhoo Lōmāfānu is the oldest copper-plate book to have been discovered in the Maldives to date. The book was written in AD 1194 in the Evēla form of the Divehi akuru, during the reign of Siri Fennaadheettha Mahaa Radun (Dhinei Kalaminja).
Lōmāfānu (or loamaafaanu) are Maldivian texts in the form of copper plates on which inscriptions have been added. Many new Maldivian historical texts are found only in lōmāfānu form. The Divehi script used on the plates was named "Evela Akuru" by H. C. P. Bell, who claimed that it resembled medieval Sinhala script.
According to the Isdhoo Lōmāfānu, monks from monasteries of the southern atoll of Haddhunmathi were brought to Malé and beheaded.

The first two dives were executed in the morning after breakfast and we were back by lunch time. After lunch, we rested for a bit and then executed the third dive of the day. All three dives were…
