hey just fyi that hakkiest person who made the post about ppl making fun of jewish people who are afraid due to antisemitism reblogs from terfs and is a “gender abolitionist”
I already broke the mutual because I tried asking them if it was a mistake since they had never posted anything to indicate that they were trans exclusionary and they answered as if it was indeed a mistake but then they rbd again from the same rad fem blog as we were speaking so 🙃 aside from that and I promise I'm not asking in bad faith but truly because I genuinely don't know about it, what does gender abolitionist imply? I tried looking it up but it seems it's a marxist framework for understanding how gender is used to divide labor and therefore oppress people based on how they're gendered but other than that I don't know enough on it to discern what it entails and how it might relate to being trans exclusionary; but I'd very much like to know more about this especially if it's a euphemism for terf rhetoric so I can learn to tell it apart as dog whistles in the future. If you're willing to tell me more my dms are also open btw

i can not "this tbh" hard enough. Remember when Emma Watson gave a speech about bringing men into feminism because dismantling the patriarchy benefits everyone?? Remember that was in 2014??? Remember that it was actually working and actively recruiting men away from the manosphere, chan boards and subreddits with the promise that if they hated the game and it made them miserable, men didn't have to play it either?
You can thank a rad fem for the full 180 on that. And no, I'm not exaggerating, most of the movement leaders have gone on record saying that they actively worked to reframe their gender divisive ideology to make it more hip and cool sounding, then methodically went after the younger generation of queers who hadn't yet establised ties or absorbed any of the history-- specifically young wlw-- in the new and fast growing online communities on Twitter and Tumblr.
Radical Feminism is a hold over from the feminism of the 60's through the 80's. While the feminists of that day made massive strides for equality in the work place, it left behind vulnerable populations and didn't make very strong in-roads to cross collaboration, inclusivity, and diversity. It was already considered too ridgid and out of date by the 90's third wave feminist movement, and by the 2010's with the expansion of queer rights and queer visibility in online spaces, while still being at least mostly protected by anonymity, we were making huge in roads towards the idea that feminism was for everyone, and the ultimate antidote to patriarchal power structures. Conversation focused mostly on addressing those structures, how to undermine and dismantle them, how to empower the men in our lives to do that, and to support them in breaking away from it. It's where the idea of toxic masculinity came from: not that being male is toxic, but that there are ways of performing masculinity that are toxic, ways that are healthy and foster community and growth in their lives, and that men could still be manly men without the extra baggage attached. That our spouses, brothers and cousins could do it better than their father's did. That they could get therapy, have have help, and pass something better onto their sons.
I have a lot of cis male friends who I would have described as chest thumping manly men types back in the day, who sat down and had thoughtful conversations, who came out the other side staunchly feminist, far more aware and intentional, and brought that into their friend groups and work places.
If you want to know what happened? We stopped having that conversation. The rad fems were successful, they got into the heads of young fem queers and convinced them to put a wedge into their lives with men.
They even got into the heads of the transfems they hate! Do you know how many fresh hatched eggs I see to this day spouting anti-male propaganda that was originally handed down from TERFs? (Ladies, they're not going to welcome you into the non-existed Secret Inner Magical Sanctum of Womanhood no matter how loudly you scream about men sucking. They don't even do it for most cis women.)
And meanwhile the pewdiepies and Andrew Tates of the world never stopped talking to the men. Who did you think they were going to listen to after getting shut out and shut down?
And if you don't believe me, this blog has existed for over a decade. You can go back into the archive and view posts from 2012. Reblogged a LOT of feminist posts back then because there WERE a lot! Whole reams of queer and feminist theory were being drafted in real time between the people it affected most. You can see the shift especially in 2016 onwards in less and less as we quit being able to have those conversations without a rad fem jumping in and either shifting the narrative or distracting everyone with nonsense and sometimes vile accusations to shut it down completely.
This was calculated and intentional because a handful of people where very pissy that they weren't leading the direction of the conversation in the new online era anymore.
Genuinely, what happened to “feminism is for everyone”?
That’s the feminism I grew up with: encouraging people to recognize that fighting sexism and restrictive gender roles helps folks of every gender. We’d push back on the idea that feminists hate men, pointing to inclusive feminist literature and how many men are feminists.
Now, there are so many people insisting that the solution to patriarchy is to openly hate and ostracize men no matter what. Why? What is the benefit? It’s certainly not effective in fighting oppressive structures to exclude half the population from your cause on the basis of immutable traits. It may feel cathartic to say horrible things about men and try to punish them for your frustrations with patriarchy. But the only actual effect I see is the increasing right-wing radicalization of young men, who are being told that the left hates them for the way they were born and presented with an abundance of proof that it’s true.
Why are we going back to treating men and women as different species? It doesn’t fix things to say “well women are the good gender and men are the bad one” this time. If you sincerely want to dismantle sexism, you’re going to have to unpack and let go of all sex and gender essentialism—even that which considers women inherently pure and men inherently immoral.

GENRE : humor & fluff
WARNINGS : embarrassment ig, reader & eddie are slight bit meanies. poor steve ; ((
WORD COUNT : 467
a/n: why am i cackling already lol. this is the scene where steve tells nancy about his big family (with her), and i wondered why eddie never got to make fun of him— XD
likes, reblogs and comments are greatly appreciated !! <3
enjoy !!
Tumblr media
“i’ve always had this dream, that i’d have this, like this really— really big family. i’m talking like uh… full brood of harringtons. like five— or six kids?” steve smiled, eyes still on the road as nancy let out a hearty laugh.
“six?” she asked, looking at steve with mild disbelief that he’d want a family that big.
steve nodded. “yeah, six little nuggets. three girls, three boys and every summer…”
“six?” a whisper-snort caught steve’s attention mid of his confession. his brows raised as he continued his attention nancy explaining his big family about a vacation like this in a trailer he’s driving.
“i think it’s cute but six, edds? would you ask that of me?” another whisper caught the former hawkins king’s ear, itching to turn around.
“sweetheart, does it look like i can afford little shitty me’s and you’s running around? i haven’t even graduated yet. six nuggets my ass—“ eddie snorted the last words as steve rolled his eyes.
“eddie!” you scolded, a loud slap filled the trailer, a all familiar laugh following in. as nancy’s attention was pulled away from steve to you two, steve finally turned his gaze to the rear view mirror to see you and eddie seated behind him, smiles on your faces making him huff out a breath of annoyance seeing the metalhead wearing a shit-eating grin.
“something funny, munson?” steve asked, teeth gritting slightly as eddie turned around with an innocent face on. he should’ve ignored dustin for helping the freak right now.
eddie smirked. “nah. hey, but that’s pretty sweet isn’t it? a big family of harringtons. really romantic thinking, dude. hope they inherit your rad hair. six baby nuggets for big ‘ol stevie and nan—“
“it’s cute you dream about that, steve!” you cut off your boyfriend with a grin, another grin steve loathed other than the freak’s. should’ve also left you to worry about your on the loose boyfriend— he ignored it, the obvious teasing he’s getting as he focused his eyes on the road as you continued to ramble. “but six? i can’t imagine birthing six kids. how is that even possible? what about my uterus? or nancy’s—“
“anything’s possible, sweetheart.” eddie kissed your cheek, still amused. “a lot of fun fucking first then—“
“alright, alright!” steve raised his voice, a chorus of laughter followed through along with nancy’s. steve’s cheeks turned red as he bit his lip to keep quiet but a grin appeared eventually. gripping the steering wheel, tempted to crash it somewhere so both of you could shut up. the tinge of jealousy in his chest as he glanced again to the rear view mirror to see the couple laughing with each other. he sighed, wanting anything more than what you and eddie have. even though the dream of his will not likely come true anytime, still…
a man could only dream.
so who volunteers giving steve his six little nuggets? poor guy. XD

I just had to block a terf who reblogged something directly from me, so here is your regular reminder that I am queer, I am non-binary, I am trans, and terfs, gendercrits, rad fems, and whatever other sneaky thing they want to call their crypto fascist bullshit... not only are you not welcome here, but I hope that every sandwich you make is mysteriously soggy and I wish you the grace to get your head out of your ass and make peace with reality

yuh hello I decided to pin an info post so let’s get into it
youtube
♥*♡∞:。.。 𝔸𝔹𝕆𝕌𝕋 𝕄𝔼 。.。:∞♡*♥
WELCOME! =D
My name’s Arisa Cliché! You can call me Risa for short! This blog has been my humble corner of tumblr since 2010! I am a 30-something Adult, so if that makes you uncomfortable, don’t feel obligated to stay. 99% of the time this is a SFW blog tho, and any other rare discussions or fandom pics will be tagged as such. This is my personal blog and I typically fill it up with text posts about my life, reblogs, fandom content, human rights/political posts, aesthetic pics, and anything else I’m into! I consider myself a cripplepunk anarchist and those vibes will be present to the best of my ability in the social justice flavored takes I reblog or post. If you don’t like any of these things, I wouldn’t hit the follow button. Also, feel free to block me!
I’m a writer! I typically write original YA/NA Fantasy, Poetry, and Creative Nonfiction, but I also dabble in Fanfiction and fan theories when the mood hits me. If you’d like to support my work, I post everything on AO3 and on my sideblog, Writing with Chaos. I’ve been writing a YA book called Cynical Chaos since I was 15, and if you wanna know more about it, or meet my precious OCs, click here!
Admittedly, I don’t post as much on tumblr as I used to. I’ve mostly migrated to twitter since the 2020 Purge, but I stick around here for a safe haven when things get a little too fast paced over there (and let’s be honest the memes are way better here ;p) and also to visit the communities I’m part of! I got a lot of side blogs and there’s many things I’d miss if I completely left. I’m afraid I’m here till this place burns. If you wanna follow me anywhere else, I’m @chaosonwheels23 on both Twitter and Instagram.
My ask box is always open and I love hearing from y’all so feel free to say hi! ^_^ The only rules I really have is if you try to start arguments with me about any of the ridiculous tumblr shit/harmful irl ideologies present on this site, such as terf/swerf beliefs, anti-blm or other racism, any radical feminist stances, exclusionism/gatekeeping of any kind, puritan behavior, ableism, or shipping discourse, I will simply block you without a response. I have absolutely zero interest in debating these things. I don’t vet much except to check if you’re a bot--so if I block you and you don’t fit any of the following, it’s cause your blog was empty or you had a sus name--but if I find out you are a terf, swerf, fash trash, rad fem, or you post l*licon, I will block on sight. I do not follow back unless we’ve had friendly interactions a decent amount of times. These rules apply to all social medias.
If you’re still here after all that, click the read more for a little more about me and tag suggestions! Feel free to also read the full tag list on the right!
I hope you have a good, safe day and thanks for stopping by! (^-^✿)

@womaninsidewater reblogging here because I'm not going to read your 7-10 dumbass memes (or subject my followers to it) that are no doubt full of misinformation and most likely have nothing to do with what I said.
So you're against abortion being legal, but you don't want it to be illegal? You do realize that there's not an in-between of legal vs illegal, right? Decriminalization means it's still illegal, but the charges are less (generally more like a fine, but you can't go to jail for it). Due to the 9th ammendment in the US, anything that is not specified by the law to be illegal, is legal. And obviously any specified by the law to be legal is legal. So you have to be on one side or the other (or not care about the legality at all). So if you're against abortion being legal, then you're for abortion being illegal and vice versa.
Simply making abortion legal doesn't mean the government is controlling someone's body. Like walking being legal doesn't mean the government is controlling your body. Heart surgery being legal doesn't mean the government is controlling your body.
I literally said that herbal abortifacients were one of the many things used. Those are included in concoctions 🤦🏻‍♀️ but just because they're herbal doesn't mean that they're safe.
PP's abortions are extremely safe. There's always a risk of complications. I hope that your friend's girlfriend has reached out to PP or her doctor because bleeding that heavily for so long is unusual after an abortion. But did you know that the total complication rate is at 2%? This means that medication abortion is safer than taking viagra. This also means that abortion is a LOT safer than continuing pregnancy, in which the high risk only complication rate is at 8%. Not to mention that for every 1 person that does from abortion, more than 4 people die from continuing pregnancy. This isn't to say that nobody should continue pregnancy and give birth. Of course they should if that's what they want to do. However, abortion is the safer option.
PP doesn't actually twist their statistics. Did you know that not all of their locations even perform abortions? PP doesn't even perform half the amount of abortions in the US every year. I'm sorry if propoganda has fooled you into thinking otherwise. I mean abortion is only 3% of what PP does. They do a LOT more than abortion. I know people who have found out they have cancer because they went in for a screening. People who have learned about sex and contraceptives because the state I live in doesn't allow those to be taught in schools. People who have gotten contraceptives for free. People who go there for pap smears because they don't have insurance and they can get it done for cheap (if not free).
As far as sex trafficking and PP goes, there have been a couple of cases. And when that happened, PP upped their training in general as well as made those employees go through even more training (if not fired them).
Yes, the people who went undercover got arrested because they broke the law. PP was also awarded $2.2 million in damages. This is because they weren't doing anything illegal. In fact, what they were doing was DONATING fetal tissue to science and would receive compensation from the government for expenses regarding storing and shipping the tissue.
Abortion isn't an industry any more than kidney failure is an industry 🤷🏻‍♀️ do you even know what an industry is? An industry is "economic activity concerned with the processing of raw materials and manufacture of goods in factories." In an abortion, they're not processing raw materials or manufacturing goods. In an abortion, they're providing healthcare.
Abstinence is a personal choice and you have no room to be concerned with someone else's sex life.
Personhood is a philosophical idea and has no room in the abortion debate, just like religion (I'm not saying you used religion at all to make your point, I was just making a point).
And yes, understanding how contraceptives work, how bodily autonomy and consent work, being able to afford to take care of yourself (let alone a child), being able to afford a roof over your head, etc will reduce abortion a ton. Too bad most people against abortion tend to also be against most (if not all) of those things.
I literally agreed with you that fetuses aren't a parasite. Did you not read what I said? Along with that I said that ZEF's aren't infants, yet almost all anti choicers seems to think they are.
Next time, try to respond to what I actually said rather than repeating a claim I agreed with and leaving a bunch of memes (because that was the stupidest way to respond to an argument ever) that probably had nothing to do with anything. You wanna post those memes? Do it on a separate post rather than in response to me.
I don't know enough about Gloria Steinem, so if someone wants to confirm whether she was a rad fem or not, that would be much appreciated

Digimon Adventures / Tri ~ VARIOUS P R I D E Icons for character Meiko Mochizuki {Tri} + flag icon bases by @izzyizumi !
BONUS:
OP’s commentary: I don’t know which Adventures fans need to hear this (I DO) but a) Meiko Mochizuki Can Be ANY Of These Headcanons b) This fandom made me Appreciate Meiko c) Regarding the Taichi x Meiko (Meichi) pairing specifically:
from THIS interview: Digimon Adventure tri. Memorial Book — Lead writer Yuuko Kakihara interview translated by DigiLab (italics/bolding mine for emphasis)
–Taichi and Meiko also seemed to have formed a certain bond between them. Toei / Tri staffs’ Answer: To be honest, the relationship between those two was not something we particularly had in mind.
But since we had certain expectations of how the fans would react to a new character barging in, and since we were also thinking about what we know about Taichi and his friends in the future, we ended up putting Meiko in a position where she comes and leaves.
^ Literally, Toei / Tri writers are TELLING YOU THIS
d) Meichi as a ship is still fine. You can STILL ship it. It is very much valid - also as Toei seems to have blatantly implied “it’s fine to see it that way” - ALSO as it is a ship involving two P.O.C (Japanese), who DO NOT have the same rep in fandom as White characters’ ships e) You also don’t have to ship Meichi AND can have alternative headcanons - for both Taichi and Meiko
f) Q u e e r headcanons involving dishonesty (such as using these as means of pushing away a character for so-called “getting in the way of your ship”, OR invalidating other headcanons) are BAD. Please DON’T use them for this reason.
{DO NOT REPOST} {DO NOT REMOVE CAPTION} {IF YOU DO THIS, I WILL KNOW} {DO NOT TAG AS “Q SLUR”, “Q WORD” OR ANY SIMILAR VARIANT} {PLEASE TAG ONLY AS “ QUEER ” OR L.G.B.T.Q.I.A.(P.N)+} {DO NOT DISCOURSE ON MY POSTS OR DERAIL THEM } {MY POSITIVITY POSTS ARE NOT FOR YOUR DISCOURSE }

Can I ask you a few questions about feminism? I got into Riot Grrrl and have since found feminism. What's a fadfem? What's third wave feminism? How would you describe your feminism? I hope you dont mind the questions
Wow! I love this question !!! Thank you so much for reaching out! I wanna say I am not the authority on feminism and feminist issues and reccomend doing lots of your own research, please don’t take my word for things! I’m just a 21 yr old
Ooh riot grrrl is so fun! Love that for you! I think that as a movement it had really good intentions but in practice kind of ended up being white, classist and exclusionary in some cases (not a judgment on you! Just a fact about mainstream feminism in a Racist society! Here’s a source about that, just paste it into sci.hub.se if you cant access it!)
rad fem? i think is maybe what you mean? it means radical feminist and they are not very radical, their main platform thing is that womanhood is all about having a vagina and whatever so theyre very trans exclusionary and I dont like them, highly recommend against rad fems
third wave feminism! so basically people who study feminism have categorized it into different waves, or time periods/ideologies. Third-wave was 90′s to 2010s, it has some problems because of its association with neoliberalism (which advocates for individual action to systemic problems, relies on capitalism and the free market, and of course is still pretty exclusionary in many spaces, in terms of being very white, abelist, middle/upper class, etc), But third wave feminism is about like individualism and diversity
fourth-wave feminism is what we’re in right now ! feminism is constantly evolving and growing through its mistakes and learning so much! Fourth wave feminism is much more aware of intersectionality, (intersectional feminism was coined by Kimberly Crenshaw, heres an amazing video of her talking about) intersectionality is the fact that different aspects of your identity will impact you in different ways, so for example, a cis white woman will not experience the same discrimination of a trans woman of colour, intersectionality is about recognizing your privilege, using it where you can to help others, and educating yourself about issues you may not have experience with (or that you do!) (like colonialism, racism, mental health/abelism, ageism, classism, homophobia and transphobia, etc etc etc).
feminism for me is about the dismantling of the hetro-capitalist-patriarchy, a system which is fundamentally unsustainable as it revolves around the accumulation of profit for more capital, and this is at the expense of others, i say hetro- because the hetrosexual, two parent, nuclear family system is a fundamental part of the system which seeks to create and raise little workers who feel they are an individual, always under surveillance and need to compete with others to survive (see Michel Foucault!) het normativity has gotta be dismantled and we gotta get away from it, and the trad family supports uneven power realtions between spouses and children and as an insulated system is a huge site of abuse for many people. i say capitalist bc capitalism is a fucking disease and literally the source of most of our enviornmental problems and has been used to justify racisim and colonialism and its gotta be undone. Patriarchy is the culutral system that priveleges men over women, defining men as “rational, logical, smart, strong, and multifaceted” and women as “one dimensional, emotional, and reliant on men”
bell hooks is a great famous feminist author i highly recommend, she believes that all forms of oppression are interlocked (sexism, racism, classism, speciesism, etc), and the only way to liberation was to simultaneously dismantle the oppressions that affect us, (primarily within and because of a capitalist system!) she has some great books i reccomend like feminist theory from margin to centre, theres a free pdf for ya ;)
another book i really recommend is Making Space for Indigenous Feminism edited by Joyce Green
for me personally, feminism involves a lot of stuff, like anti capitalism, body autonomy, intersectionality, supporting indigenous sovereignty, protecting eachother from sexual assault and general abuse, and supporting organized actions that actively support the marginalized members of my community (and fuck cops! theyre not our friends theyre not on our side!)! for me feminism looks a lot like constant self evaluation and critical analysis, acknowledgment of privilege, and a desire to improve rather than be perfect! for example, I am white and a settler, so I am racist by default because of having been raised in a white supremacist, settler society, BUT i can actively do my best to unlearn my racisim and all the other forms of oppression(like classism and sexism and abelism) that i have learned! and that at the end of the day is what feminism is about for me, is trying to figure out how to ensure love and liberation for all beings around me, i also know i will always be doing harm as long as i live and participate in a capitalist society, so its important to know that I am not perfect and make a lot of mistakes, and am trying to do what I can with what I have to learn how to do less harm, in a world that is hurting a lot. Feminism for me is about listening to others and learning from others. sorry for the rant, a lot was left out, people are free to comment! heres a feminism tag on my blog where i reblog stuff that i think of as feminist issues

I created this blog to make even a small, weak attempt to become more active in feminist activism, the kind of feminism that actually focuses on supporting women and fighting misogyny instead of just aiming for the equality of men and women. Namely, the radical feminism.
I am not a radical feminist. I haven’t studied feminist theory and everything I know about this branch of feminism comes from reading feminist blogs. My understanding of it is shallow, so I made this blog so I can reblog posts I want to remember later.
I found myself agreeing with a lot of things posted by radical feminists. But knowing the hatred they have to face, I had no courage to ever reblog anything or comment on radfem posts. I saw radical feminists on Tumblr receive such harsh amounts of online bullying, so many messages of wishing them to commit suicide, so many detailed violence and rape fantasies flooding their blogs, that I was scared into inaction. I was terrified of the brutality of terfhunters, and feared that if I let people know I agree with these people, they will come for me next. Just writing this first post makes me uneasy. Once I publish it, there’s no coming back, I have admitted to agreeing with rad fems and I can’t take that back and pretend I’m innocent of thought crimes.
The only way I could have courage to interact with the radical feminist community, would be to wear a mask. I would have to make a separate blog for this purpose. I am deeply ashamed of my cowardice, and consider my lack of courage to be one of my greatest flaws of character. But I must attempt to do something. Yes, I’m aware that most online activism is superficial and useless, but I want to try to get more involved with radical feminism. I hope to find rad fems that are from my country (Finland) in hopes that they might advise me if there are any local feminist organizations or groups. I am not experienced with any kind of political activism, so I seek advise on how to attempt to fight misogyny locally.
I probably will not be posting much original content, I’ll be mostly reblogging stuff I want to remember and save to use as source.

Why did Tumblr become the home of the SJW?
Back in the day, when the first crop of third wave and FA blogs started gaining readers and interest, you had to be a really good writer, know how to market, appeal to a broad demographic and have a professional looking blog to participate in the discussion. They still had some radical notions, but used them a lot more sparingly. They also had to worry about keeping advertisers, as these were mostly adults who liked to bring in some income from all of the effort they put into their work.
Now, a 14 year old girl could not easily succeed as a blogger in those days -- It was just too hard to get read. Since re-blogging didn't exist, you had to hope people left a comment which very few people did (except on bigger blogs.) So, no immediate gratification either.
Tumblr changed all that. Suddenly, you could get 20,000 notes from one sentence. Tumblr themes are as simple as myspace themes. On the old third wave blogs, author pictures were sparse and only used in outfit posts or "I went to the capitol, here I am at this monument!" style vacation pictures. On tumblr, you could get some serious positive attention for posting a selfie while feeling like a brave warrior for justice, not an insecure high schooler.
The old third wave blogs were more moderate, because being moderate attracted good discussion and more readers. You did not get points for being a rad fem, and I don't remember any major blogrolls that had a rad fem presence from that period. Of course they existed, but they were not the storefront of the movement like they are on tumblr.
Look, adults don't tend to use tumblr -- especially mature adults. When you grow up, that rapid fire, radical nonsense seems like a waste of time. As an adult, I want to get along with the people I work with, I want us to be closer, I've seen how miserable pushing people apart is.
Tumblr Teens don't know that yet. They are so self centered and consumed with self expression that they like to alienate most of the world -- they want to be 'special' because they aren't in real life. She may be a genderfluid pixie xem/xyr/xur online, but in the halls of high school she's probably just a really lonely, dumpy outcast. So, they take to tumblr with this SJW nonsense and get the attention/validation they crave from other people just like them.
That's why tumblr is the format of choice: It's the fastest and most efficient way to deliver this attention to SJW.
Is it wrong for Tumblr teens to be self-centred?
Even well adjusted teens are self centered! The teen SJW/Otherkin/Niche thing isn't really bad because teens are self-centered, but how the SJW/Otherkin/Niche scene can interfere with social development by rewarding that self-centerdness and encouraging it.
Average, 'normal' teens are all over tumblr as well, the difference is in what they reblog and the purpose tumblr serves.
It seems to me that the SJW teens have a lot more internet only friends and that the majority of tumblring they do is with people who aren't tied to them through physical social interactions. They develop really particular niche view points and seek out an anonymous, non-judgemental peer group that they don't have to see everyday.
The difference is that both groups of teens are seeking validation from a peer group, but that's where the two groups diverge. If a teen from the first group posts something rude or intolerant, they have to be able to defend that in real life. They will have to look their peers in the eyes and explain themselves. This group of teens is rewarded for positive social interactions and held accountable for negative ones. If a friend laughs at them for posting a ton of selfies, they learn that they appeared conceited and will strive to appear less conceited in the future.
The second group does not get the same sense of checks and balances from online-only friends in niche groups like SJW or the Otherkin community. They can hand pick a community that does not challenge their behavior, and if they are challenged they can delete their online presence and start over. Also, since much of this pure validation kind of attention they recieve would never challenge them because that would be removing someone from the compliment chain -- That teen posts a dozen selfies. Instead of getting the chance to see how her social action came across as overly conceited (allowing her to learn from it and socialize more effectivly in the future), it is validated by other teens who will later count on her validation to socialize poorly. If a lone voice pops up and says, "why did you post 12 selfies at once you're so full of yourself" they can expect to be shouted down.
The selfie thing is kind of a silly example, but I just wanted to illustrate how most teens use tumblr as an extension of real life, with the same system of checks and balances, but the SJW teen manufactures her tumblr experience as a fantasy world outside of real life without the same system (unless she deviates from the standard SJW canon, but that's a different story!)
Being self-centered as a teen in very normal, but it's also the time when teens socialize among each other to start figuring out what is positive socialization and what is negative socialization. For tumblr SJW/Otherkin/Niche teens who socialize mostly with people they don't know IRL, the circlejerkiness stands in the way of that self-centerdness paving the way for good socialization later.

hi gay people! decided to check this blog for the first time in a year b/c tumblr sent me an email that this blog turned 2 years old... wild. thank you for the kind messages of love and support in my absence!
honestly looking back at some of my posts... how awfully i worded things, the dumb perspectives i had as an inexperienced young adult, it makes me cringe. 😬 i spoke over a lot of people, interjected into many conversations ESPECIALLY as a white person that i shouldn’t interrupted, and like... i seemed so annoying!!! my 19 year old self PLEAAASE SHUT UPPPPPPPPPP!!!!
im so glad i quit the discourse blog thing. its horrible to be surrounded by so many people engaging with you in bad faith. and even now im still getting awful asks from rad..fems reblogging posts i made years ago... lol. the best advice i can give is to block freaks & make blocklists & engage with people you want to make friends with! don’t engage with idiots who think you’re stupid, it’s just a waste of time. play minecraft, terraria, puyo puyo. save up for a dog. god i want a husky.
and my perspective now is that, like, being against pedophilia, incest, abuse, transphobia, lesbophobia, etc. is just a normal people thing. thats just something you should expect from people online and IRL. the culture has shifted so now we’re listening to victims!! and spreading awareness and information!! and im so glad. it’s usual to find people clowning on freaks instead of defending them, and i love it so much.
other than that ive been working a lot lol. obsessed with terraria on the switch in my free time. still with my girlfriend and im growing out my hair. read both homestuck epilogues-- they sucked and im kinda out of the fandom because... the racism... the homophobia... the bastardization of my favorite characters.... nah. i love and stan she-ra on netflix and watched all of season three last night. Catra redemption arc when!!!!!!!!
hope yall are good! keep being awesome people and don’t be afraid to make friends online with other cool people. love y’all, take care! <3

Because it just pinged my filtered tags i wanted to let you know that the OP of a recent post you reblogged (pr3tty-sh[[ad0ws) is a massive TERF and had tagged the post with rad[fem and rad[ical feminism. It's ridiculously shitty what happened to her, so i'm not sure how to handle this myself, but she shared her tragic story with transphobic intent. i figured you would want to know in any case
Oh holy heck I checked her blog and that is pretty damn bad. Yeah it sucks what happened to her but that’s no excuse to throw vulnerable people under the bus, especially when she’s using her tragic story to do so. There’s plenty more stories about sexism in schools from non shitty people I can promote instead.
Thanks for telling me!
For my followers to know which post it is, it’s the one that starts like this

hey I've noticed that some of my new younger followers are following some crypto terfs (trans exclusive radical feminists) even though they reblog pro-trans lesbian posts so I assume its accidental or unknowing of the difference here, and though my blog is not particularly nsfw and I genuinely do not want to block anyone, much less kids, from interacting with my butch/fem content or my political content just because they dont know the difference between the blog of a crypto terf who happens to be a lesbian and a militant dyke, I also feel a bit uncomfortable with privately messaging those of you who I know to be 18 or so I'm posting this here instead.
my blog is inherently and explicitly in support of trans women in all womens spaces, trans lesbians in lesbian spaces, and applies a material, class based analysis of gender as opposed to a biological one. If you are following blogs that identify themselves as "radical feminists" or "gender critical", or are followed by people who identify themselves that way, my views directly contradict with theirs and my content being available to them through your blog is something I am not very comfortable with, as radical feminists have a habit of harrassing anyone who applies such an analysis, and have done so to me on several occasions before after searching through personal posts critiquing their ideology that I had trigger tagged with related terms to protect my followers.
users like femme//aaliyah might have 'no terfs' in their description, but they interact with people who actively persecute trans women, and often have particularly insidious ways of disguising their transmisogyny to try and draw people further into their spheres of influence. That user in particular has also made incredibly disgraceful and ahistorical claims about stone femmes not being lesbians due to their relationship to sex yet calls herself a high femme for dating a stone butch - an approach to my and my partners identity that I as a stone butch dating a stone fem do not want to be even two or three degrees of separation away from.
I understand that the politics of these situations are incredibly dense and a lot of what is posted by crypto terfs is purposefully misleading, but I did want to make a clear point here that my approach to lesbianism is wholly incompatible with theirs, and that following both me and rad/fems is not an option, as if I consistently notice it or rad/fems find a post of mine through you, I will be forced to block you for my own safety. I'm happy to answer more questions over my inbox, my messages are also open to anyone who needs clarification.

I saw that post you reblogged about curious women secretly reading terf blogs. I've always been on the staunch anti-terf side. I even identified as trans at one point, but eventually I came to realize that the dysphoria I've experienced since puberty is, in fact, a reaction to the sexualization I experienced from childhood for being female. Anyway, the real reason I'm writing you today is because I have... doubts. The point of feminism is supposed to be to uplift the ability of ALL women (1/8)
“to have opinions, not just ones we agree with. Instead, even being gender critical will net us death/rape threats and hate speech. It’s scary. And too familiar. I’m a lesbian. So many things that I’ve seen and experienced are just straight up homophobic rape culture, particularly this idea that “genital preference” is transphobic instead of just… my sexuality. I don’t like dick, that’s who I am - I don’t care who’s attached to it, I don’t want it! And I hate being made to (2/8)
feel like a bad person because I don’t want it. I know that people say it’s just shitty people who try to convince women to have sex with them, not just trans women, but I’ve never had cis lesbians harass me the way trans women have. I’ve experienced some really fucked up coercion at the hands of trans women, but I feel like I can’t talk about it because it’s not the right type of trauma. When I was a teenager, I was tumblr friends (3/8)
with a trans woman in her 20s. We talked all the time. One day I was telling her about how I was walking home from school and got followed by a guy in a truck, and was really scared because he kept yelling really gross sexual things at me. This trans woman told me that it was “insensitive” of me to talk about this with her, because “at least [I] have tits”. Like I was literally a minor, talking about experiencing sexual harassment to someone I thought was my friend and mentor, and instead (4/8)
of supporting me, she told me it was rude of me to talk about it because I had the *privilege* of being recognized as female. Not long after she asked me for nudes and I told her I didn’t feel comfortable doing that… it turned into a whole argument splattered all over tumblr, and we weren’t friends anymore after that. She’s still here and runs an anti-terf hate blog, regularly tells lesbians that they’re disgusting, to “go choke”, etc. But anyway. Last year, a trans woman friend (5/8)
hit me up and tried to convince me to leave my girlfriend, who I have been with for years and have an entire life with. I thanked her for the attention and reminded her that I was in a happy long term relationship… she then told me that it was unhealthy for me to be in a monogamous relationship because I’m probably not having my needs met (?!) and that I should talk to my girlfriend about including her. I said again that I wasn’t interested and said we just weren’t compatible because (6/8)
I’m not attracted to her like that, and she basically argued with me (“but we have ___ in common!”), and broke down every reason I gave her (for several hours, in the middle of the night) until I was finally like “I don’t like penises, it won’t work”. At which point she freaked out and tried to guilt me into having sex by telling me that she feels ugly, unwanted, etc. Like trying to coerce someone into sex is NOT the right way to deal with those feelings! Anyway, I just feel like I’m (7/8)
literally going crazy trying to reconcile all of these feelings in my head. I’m not a hateful person. I don’t care what other people do. But this happens way too much. And women are harassed for talking about it. I’m learning to trust myself and my reaction to things, despite the world telling me not to as a young woman, and I feel like I’m right in saying that all of this is a serious encroachment on our right to even talk about our oppression. (8/8)”
I’m so sorry to hear this, friend. What these men have put you through is absolutely entitled and inexcusable. I cannot imagine what experiencing all that so closely must have felt, but I do sympathise and understand your feelings.
Thank you for sharing it! I know it must have taken a lot of bravery to open up and tell your story; so many women out there keep these sorts of experiences to themselves in fear of backlash and ostracising. I believe you, and I believe that all of our sisters who read this will believe you and feel as I do, as well.
I’m so glad and proud that you’ve come to these realisations and chose to trust yourself! Do not be apologetic about it! Standing up for what you know is right is not hateful, it’s what we all should be able to do. The very last sentence you’ve written is the truest way to put it.
Please, continue to be your own ally and stand up for your own safety and rights. Even if when you do sort out all of your feelings you don’t become a rad fem or even rad leaning, it’s important that you remember this truth you’ve just spoken and trust it as you’re learning to trust it now. I wish you all the best and all the enlightenment!

No but /srs guys please do let me know if I ever accidently reblog something from a terf/rad fem. I sometimes don’t notice the users of things I reblog, and as such can miss out on some huge red flags. Just had a very icky encounter with one, which I may well delete, because now I’m seeing that post be reblogged by more, and that’s very No Good For My Trans Man Ass, so please, lemme know if I ever need to block a bitch. I would very much appreciate it :)

re: yr post abt how tumblr hates men, i agree :o i gotta admit i was in that culture for awhile but got... really turned off by the exact thing youre describing where they SAY theyre for trans guys but. dont lke men. and it almost feels really like. rad fem, the disproportionate vitriol aimed at men. :/ idk but just wanted to say yr not alone in feeling that way
I feel so bad for not responding to this for so long. Ack I’m sorry!
I have a lot of internalized misandry, thanks to my dad teaching me that all men are awful pigs. A lot of trans men understand the oppression that cis women go through, having been treated the same way if they went through a period where they didnt pass as they wanted to. So it makes sense for cis women to have a bias and prefer trans men, because we get it, but it doesnt come across that way. It comes across as being the gay-best-friend-tm, but inflated. It’s when cis women feel safe changing in front of their gay friends because he isnt interested in her but she doesnt take into consideration that he doesn’t want to see her naked x10. It’s treating us like women for their comfort. That and the increase in trans representation on this site, where they draw us as ultra femme people in binders and sometimes bad beards, it’s hurting more than they think it’s helping. There’s also that preferred aesthetic of the skinny, good skin, twinky boy that everyone is so fucking hard for. The best example I can think of is Pidge from Voltron, back when everyone was headcanoning her as a trans man. Because her body-type and look is what everyone apparently wants in a trans body. I run a porn blog that’s primarily trans and it’s really obvious that that aesthetic has affected the community and so many of the guys I see look like that because of it. People are drawn to the characters who are pretending to be men for one reason or another but then are revealed to be women (or people who say they don’t care about gender but are then treated as women)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
People are obsessed with our femininity. You go on google and type in trans man and it wants to autofill it with pregnancy. I’m not going to go into that because I’m tokophobic but I closed the tab real fast after just searching for images of people like me. I’ve had previous bosses come up to me and ask me about my breasts, in front of coworkers, outing me to the rest of them,  because they want to know about our surgeries. You always hear about that with trans women, but I’ve been asked so many times about my genitals by strangers and family members alike.
I feel like the amount of misandry on tumblr is inflated because of the amount of misogyny in the real world, there has to a be a balance. Tumblr is a form of escapism, not just for women, but when I escape, I see so much hatred towards me that I don’t see in real life. I even pass well enough now that I’m treated as male and get a lot of the perks from that, even though I feel like I’m walking on sugar glass and when people find out everything is going to fall apart. The majority of it is in the creative communities. I see so many posts about how men should be banned from writing, which, as a writer, hurts really badly. I see posts about how they should be ashamed of drawing but they get defended a bit more as tumblr cares more about drawing than writing. It hurts a lot more when I see my friends reblogging those ban all men posts when they claim to be supportive of me and my writing. What separates me from the male writers you’re bashing? It’s not my masculinity, but my femininity. They want men to be more feminine and want to applaud men for super simple things that “fight toxic masculinity” but even then it feels like it’s got an awkward sense of shipping to it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m rambling. I’m in a rambling mood, sorry.
TLDR; women want to connect with trans men because they still see them as primarily women and will put down cis men because they can’t IRL.
