Lenector is like experiencing the Eclipse.
The torture is immense
Characters get assassinated
Someone gets sexually assaulted
The villain gets what they want
Except the Eclipse still saw the victims get away to get revenge against the villain
I was about to make a (probably tasteless) joke about Hector's stupidity being akin to Casca's post Eclipse state...
....except even Casca, despite her regressed state, had enough clarity of mind and agency to kill her would be rapists that one time, plus she's important to the larger plot albeit in an indirect way
At least the Eclipse has good art and it focuses on the events happening, unlike S3E9 that jumps between two fight scenes and two sex/rape scenes until you barely understand what's going on anymore
Also. You know. You aren't meant to think "god I wish I was Casca and I got a handful of bird dick inside me while my lover is hacking himself to pieces to save me".
Also. Also. When Guts hurts Casca. She no longer wants anything to do with him. The only reason she's attracted to Griffith in her state is because she "senses" her child in his body, but even as her mind operates on (I feel really bad for saying this) animal logic, she can make the association "this person is nice to me so I'll trust them, this person caused me pain so I'll avoid them". Something that N!Hector completely lacks, he clings to people showing a modicum of niceness to him but then crawls back to them once they hurt him physically or emotionally - which is not portrayed as him being broken by the constant abuse in his life, but him being a dumbass who deserved everything bad that happened to him/Lenore being just so good to him and enslaving him for his own good, so why in the world would he resent her? The fact that he craves every ounce of companionship he can get is basis not for tragedy, but mockery and torture and then cute ship bonding with his abuser!
I swear, Casca was reduced to the level of a toddler to be yanked around and she was still written with more care and respect than N!Hector. At least she eventually regained her self.
Anyway I'm genuinely less uncomfortable reading Casca's two-chapter brutal rape than going through S3E9 and having two rape scenes being portrayed as hot. This is not a compliment to NFCV and its "edginess".

watching the scene where howard is talking to jimmy in the parking garage in s3e9 and comically sweating, gulping, tugging at my collar, giggling, twirling my hair, hacking up blood, crying, etc.
