Hachikazu smiles as he leads Milo up a small hill.

They sit down on the soft grass and Hachi pulls Milo up into his lap then kisses her cheek, chuckling softly when she blushes then he gazes up at the starry sky.

Milo shrinks and nuzzles into his warmth when a cool breeze blows by.

“Are you cold, angel?” He asks gently, slightly tightening his arms around her small frame.

He grabs the blanket he’d brought just in case and wraps it around Milo. “Mm.. thank you, Hachi…”

He smiles and kisses the top of her head. “Of course, angel.”

Hachi and Milo look up to the starry sky once more and Milo’s eyes start sparkling with the bright stars.

Hachikazu’s gaze moves to Milo once more and he blushes. “You’re so pretty, Milo…” He says softly with a smile.

Milo blushes and hides her face in her hands and Hachi chuckles and gently pats her head.

Hachikazu’s smile grows when Milo starts to relax into him.

Milo starts purring softly and her eyes begin drooping and Hachi squeezes her gently. “You can sleep, it’s okay, angel..” He whispers and kisses the top of her head.

“I love you, Hachi…” Milo mumbles sleepily as she falls asleep in his lap.

Hachikazu smiles and gazes down at her lovingly. “I love you too, Milo…”

He decides to stay out for a bit longer and continues to gaze up at the stars.

Soon after, he carefully stands up and gently cradles Milo in his arms as he begins the journey back to his house.

Mikitama is eagerly and anxiously awaiting Hachikazu’s return from his mission.

He’s trying his best to hurry back because of the dark clouds that are covering the sky.

He frowns and speeds up his pace when he hears the low grumble of thunder off in the distance.

“Hang on, Mika, I’m almost there…” He mumbles to himself and takes a deep breath then runs as fast as he can (which is very fast due to him being a demon).

Hachikazu arrives at his and Mikitama’s house after a few more seconds then he carefully opens the door as it thunders loudly and starts raining heavily.

“Mika?” He calls out to let her know it’s him and to make sure that she’s okay as he looks around the room.

“I-I-I’m r-right here….” Her shaky and broken voice reaches his ears, from the right, and his gaze goes to her tiny, trembling form, curled up in the corner, crying.

Hachi’s eyes widen and he carefully moves towards her then he gently lifts her into his lap. “Shhh… It’s okay, angel… I’m here now…” He whispers gently in her ear and tightens his arms around her when she flinches from a loud crack of thunder.

He starts rocking her back and forth and pressing kisses to her forehead as he holds her tightly in his gentle embrace.

“Shh.. shh… I’ve got you, little angel… You’re always safe when I’m around…. I’ll always protect you no matter what… You mean the world to me, and I’ll do absolutely anything to protect you and keep you safe…” He whispers comfortingly as he rocks her back and forth.

Mikitama relaxes in his arms as he whispers comforting words to her, eventually falling asleep.

“Thank you, Hachi… I love you…” Mikitama mumbles in her sleep and Hachi smiles softly and presses a kiss on top of her head.

“I love you too, Mikita…” He whispers as he gently brushes Mikitama’s silky, white hair away from her face.

Mikitama feels so relaxed and comfortable as she sleeps in his arms.

The storm is not so scary with him around…

Hachikazu and Milo just completed a long day of school.

So now they’re at an ice cream shop to relax and wind down from the stress of everything.

Hachikazu stared at Milo lovingly from across the table as she ate her ice cream.

He then noticed some ice cream on the tip of her nose and he smiles.

“Hey angel?” He calls out to her softly and she blushes as she looks up from her ice cream.

“Y-yes Hachi…?” She squeaks out shyly and he reaches over the table as he picks up a napkin then gently holds her chin and carefully wipes the ice cream off of her nose.

“Th-there you go..” He says shyly and Milo’s eyes are wide and her face is bright red.

He chuckles shyly when she stutters out a shy thank you then hides her face in her hands.

“I love you so much, angel..” He says shyly and Milo blushes more.

“I-I love you so much too, Hachi…” After they finish their ice cream Hachikazu happily walks Milo home.

Once they get to her house Hachikazu kisses her forehead. “Goodnight sweetheart, I’ll see you tomorrow at school!”

“G-goodnight Hachi..! I love you, see you tomorrow..” She says shyly and he smiles softly.

“I love you too, angel! Goodnight!” He says happily then watches Milo go into her house and lingers for a moment before leaving to go to his own house.

A knight’s duty

As one of the knights of the royal family, Hachikazu’s duty is to protect them at all costs.

He’s been specifically assigned to protect the princess, Milo Tomioka.

Hachikazu would do anything to keep his beautiful princess safe from all harm.

Milo is so precious to him and he’d do anything to keep her safe and happy.

He hears commotion from outside the castle and immediately panics since Milo isn’t there with him at the moment.

“Princess! There you are! Come on, I’ll keep you safe from the invaders!” Hachikazu exclaims as he scoops Milo up into his arms.

“H-Hachi..? Wh-what’s going on..?” *She asks worriedly as he runs off with his princess in his arms.

He gets her to safety and gently puts her down then softly kisses her forehead.

“Don’t worry.. you’re always safe with me. I won’t let them get to you.” He says seriously and stays in a protective stance to protect Milo, his beautiful princess.

Milo is being hunted by a wicked wizard from another kingdom, Haruki, who wants her dead because she’s a yokai.

The wizard manages to get through the guards and he infiltrates the castle.

He gets to where Hachikazu and Milo are and he smirks.

Haruki uses his magic to bring Milo to him and Hachikazu reaches out to grab her hand and pull her into his arms.

“I’ve got you princess, you’re okay..” He whispers to her and attacks Haruki.

By the end of the fight Hachikazu is unconscious and Haruki is dying.

Milo heals Hachikazu and passes out into his arms.

He woke up as she fell into his arms and he made sure to make her feel extra comfortable and safe.

He gently lifts Milo up as he stands up then he carries her to her room.

While walking to her room, Hachikazu runs into the king and queen, Milo’s parents Giyuu and Yuna.

“Thank you for always protecting our daughter, Hachikazu.” “Yes, thank you so much!” Both are talking calmly.

“Of course your majesties. It’s an honor to protect my princess.” They then part ways and Hachikazu gets to Milo’s room.

He gently lays his princess down on the soft bed then he holds her hand and leans down to softly kiss her forehead. “Sleep well my darling princess..”

He begins to walk off but Milo weakly squeezes his hand and he turns around to see if she needs anything.

“P-please stay Hachi…” She mumbles in her sleep and he smiles softly then climbs into the bed beside her.

“Of course my princess…” He whispers as he pulls her close and gently strokes her head, resulting in her starting to purr softly.

He smiles as he falls asleep while holding Milo in his arms.
