Artist research: Harry George Theaker

Painting/ illustration-Arabian Nights by H.G Theaker

Theaker was a British apprentice pottery decorator. However he was a successful illustrator of children’s books. Most his illustrations date from the 1920s to the 1930s. The image is portraying a servant fanning a princess, I  hope to use this strong image as a starting point for my Heer Ranjha photoshoot. I will endeavour to replace the servant with the male character Ranjha by doing this I will place the female of Heer in a dominant position.
