I've been rotating this audio log in my head since I first heard it, so I thought I'd test my comic skills with a little visual depiction of it! Scarlet's manipulation of Mai is fascinating to me, and I think Mai's murder of Captain Ashford is where she really drank the Kool-aid so to speak.

So there is an event in Drytop that requires you to collect aspect crystals before the Inquest can, and prevent the Inquest from gathering those crystals at the same time. The usual "beat up the Inquest" type event, right?

Well, when S2 dropped, Jenn and I were playing through it and I still had Vezz in his black and red "Inquest" garb, and I don't think I considered in the moment the implications.

So it would inevitably happen, WITHOUT fail, that if we were doing that event back then when it was still super heavily done by a lot of people on the map, someone would take a swing at me whenever I reached for one of the crystals.

It doesn't happen anymore since I've updated his fashion significantly and the event isn't done by that many people, but it was funny in the moment.

Fun Lore Fact: On Mursaat genders

With Secrets of the Obscure opening the possibility of us meeting more mursaat, and female mursaat at that, I want to point out a little noticeable fun fact about mursaat in Guild Wars 1.

While there is only one model used for all mursaat, thus leading one to think we only see male mursaat, based on the names of the various bosses it can be concluded that we do see female mursaat as well.

For example:

Willa the Unpleasant

Willem the Demeaning

Male and female form of the same name. Willa and Willem. There are other feminine names seen too, of course. Such as Aily the Innocent and Mercia the Smug.

So what does this mean?

This means mursaat have no notable sexual dimorphism from their models, particularly of note being their chest. Their females' chests look just like their males' chests. This is a female mursaat:

And it is also a male mursaat.

This is NOT accurate female mursaat clothing:

But adapted for the sake of humans and norn to wear (and sylvari just use this because humans and norn get weird seeing nude sylvari).

Let's see if ArenaNet keeps to this idea. #FreeMursaatNonBoobies!

Human race being tired to region. And then not having Braham's father be one of the last Norn from Elona is such missed world building opportunity it drives me insane. When Braham shows up in story his clothing isn't modeled after a lot of other Norn characters. It's actually pretty close in my opinion to Sunspear Marshal's

Maybe that's just lazy design but I don't think so.

Because the Norn designs are more like this

So Norns are up to be my mate your legend has to match mine. And Borje was just as great as Eirs who had already killed a lieutenant of Jormag at that point. So what the fuck was Borje the Sun Chaser doing?

Here comes the theory.

Everyone thinks Fortune's Vale area of the Crystal desert was an old dwarven structure. But what if it wasn't? What if that was Norn area that was genocided by Joko?

Remember what joko's forces look like? How fucking big they are?

So you have these guys.

Then you have these.

This is where I'd also like to point out that Norns can shape shift. That is a Norn fucking werewolf my friends. Because is there a tribe of shape shifting gaint in elona currently? No.

I think that Braham dad was the last of the Elonain Norn and he lead a small group of them all the way to shiverpeaks only to find that there where people their that where also refugees there via Jormag, Borje was the leader of Cragstead after all.

It makes so much sense!

So if you happen to wander into the stairwell during the last instance of Clockwork Chaos when Logan and Anise are having their little catfight over the queen, you can catch somebody snooping.

She literally walks down the stairs, stops when she hears them arguing, puts her back to the wall and does the ponder emote, and then waits until they're done to walk out like, "What? I didn't hear anything." Amazing.

OKAY BUT I JUST NOTICED SOMETHING SO CUTE I'm sure others have beat me to this but I'm one of today's lucky 10000

I've been working on the Lion's Memory achievement, and I've been making the corresponding weapon from each trinket as I've gone. And I've noticed. Each weapon and the corresponding characters profession matches up with the 3rd set of elite specializations.

- pistol has a quote from marjory (necromancer - harbinger)

- hammer has a quote from rox (ranger - untamed)

- dagger has a quote from kasmeer (mesmer - virtuoso)

- sword has a quote from braham (guardian - willbender)

- mace has a quote from taimi (engineer - mechanist)

I just think it's a really cute easter egg, inconsequential but clever!
