‘  in october 1989, forty-three women around the world gave birth.  none of these women were pregnant when the day first began. reginald hargreeves adopted seven of them ; the rest were brought up by their families.  ’

thirty years later, following the split of the umbrella academy, the families of those thirty-five children were brutally murdered within a few days.  a small group of orphans decides to assemble a team and reach out to the rest on a quest to avenge their lost loved ones. they may be strangers among each other, but they share one tragedy in common.

BIO:

amirah was born to a single nineteen-year-old college student and went into labor driving on her way to school. when reginald hargreeves came to her offering to buy her daughter, she wanted nothing to do with him. amirah’s mother was so appalled that she never let her daughter watch the news pertaining to the umbrella academy and she never let her daughter read the comics so amirah didn’t know the academy’s true identities. 

when amirah was younger, her tantrums sparked rouge fires in the yard or her house and school. she found out about her powers and tried to keep it from her mother for her protection. 

amirah decided to use her powers for good and became a fire investigator, knowing what times of fire people started helped her remind her that she and some arsonists weren’t all bad. 

when her family was brutally murdered, she became cold and distant and requested more hours off from work. she started drinking and using her powers in the desert to take out her frustrations. 

now she’s scared of the world that has opened up to her and is very hesitate and distant to ever be apart of it.

BIO:

dean grew up in a fairly normal household ; his powers did not prevent him from experiencing an average life.  he was brought up by his loving mother who embraced him, despite his unexpected birth, and who soon got married to a good man that dean was proud to call a ‘dad’.  due to his normal upbringing, dean’s popularity died down fast, as he avoided using his abilities as much as possible.  hence, not a lot of people knew about him.  he only ever used them when he would go deer hunting with his father.  due to his love for cars, he became a mechanic and soon opened his own garage.  he was rather content with his life, as he traveled a lot across the US and enjoyed his time.  

it wasn’t until his family’s brutal deaths that dean’s life had changed forever.  

his grief had overtaken him and drove him to reckless actions  --   speeding, excessive drinking, bar fighting, etc.  when he learned that he wasn’t the only orphan but merely one out of the thirty-five, he knew that the problem was bigger than him and his family.  

and he knew he had to take action.  

so, he and the few gifted he was acquainted with decided to assemble a team.  they needed to avenge their families, and they needed all the help they could get.  and if the umbrella academy couldn’t help them anymore, they ought to take matters into their own hands.

          normalcy came quickly,  abilities kept hidden,  like the rest of the ones born that unique day they weren’t cast in the light of the media,  no masks or mansion to keep them safe;  no one to teach them. 

             a large family,  a large home,  she was lucky enough to experience the love and care of ones who left her abilities an unspoken subject.  best forgotten about when it posed no threat  ----  until she began teaching herself.  accidental fires littered their home town,  not with an intention to cause any distress but the longer it was ignored the hard it became to control.  but with time and patience,  she mastered the gift she had been born with. 

                                          until her families murderer. 

             a house blistering up in flames,  unable to be saved,  unable to save the innocents left in their bed to die.  apart from her;  walking without so much as a scratch.  speculations started,  doubt set in.  even when the knowledge that her family wasn’t the only one,  she can’t help but wonder if it had been purposefully done.. that her ability had been acknowledged to lead the blame or if they had made a terrible mistake in leaving her alive..  regardless,  with a few of her  ‘siblings’  getting in touch,  an alliance   (  THE TEAM  )  was formed to stop further loss and work together.  as family.

for rapunzel, her upbringing was full of lies and manipulation.  her mother had led her to believe that she was just ordinary, never saw her skills or areas of interest as potential for anything to make a life out of.  despite attending public schooling all her life and though despite it all, she was quite friendly, rapunzel’s mother kept her under lock-and-key after school hours.  

rapunzel never told anyone about her powers, in fear that her mother would dismiss it entirely or that she would be mocked, or worse, so she kept her healing abilities a secret.  

as she grew up, she decided to put her abilities to good use in the form of floral artistry; for her, keeping the flowers in the shop alive never gave the possibility of the inside looking so gloomy.  even on the darkest days, the inside of her shop remained bright and vibrant.  ---and then everything turned upside down when she found her mother was fatally attacked.

secluding herself from all but a few people, as she had no one to turn to or anywhere to go, rapunzel put all of her emotions onto canvas, eventually overcrowding her little home with paintings of valleys and clearings with the occasional darker, more vulnerable scenes.

and suddenly, the team was born.
