          ‘ What would you do if you woke up one day and found yourself connected to 7 other people all around the globe? Connected in mind and body and soul. Would you embrace it? Reject it? What would you do if you suddenly found yourself hunted for what you are? ‘

This is a Sense8 based group verse. Knowledge of the show is not mandatory (but definitely recommended it’s really good!). Here is a quick rundown of what it will be about, 8 strangers all around the world are suddenly connected to each other because their father (Filip Lando) birthed them in time to be taken in and killed by BPO. While trying to figure out what is happening to them, they are also on the run from an organization that is hunting them. 

Some basic rules: No OOC drama, IC drama is encouraged though. There are only 8 slots and it’s a first come, first serve type of thing. All of the characters are 23 years old, non negotiable, please make sure your FC is 18-28 years old. Also only two people can take up America otherwise it’s just unrealistic. As they attempt to discover the meaning of their unique connection, a shadowy organization commandeered by an elusive figure known as WHISPERS aims to hunt them down. Their gift might have made them a target for extermination, but it’s the one thing keeping them alive.

sensate:  Sensates, or Homo sensoriums, are a species of humans that are telepathically connected to other people spread across the globe. 

A group of sensates constitutes a cluster, and members of a cluster can contact each other wherever they are in the world.

   The members of a cluster, no matter the physical distance between them, All are born on the same day at the exact same moment. Sensates are reborn the same time as with their cluster by another sensate outside a cluster. A cluster's connection is activated during this. At the beginning of a cluster’s birthing, the parent visits the sensates in the cluster then sensates experience a severe migraine for an extended period of time. The physics of the sensate connection involve a substance called psycellium, a psychic nervous system. This connection can be temporarily cut by ingesting blockers, disconnecting them from other sensates and turning sensates human again.

Sensates are mentally and emotionally linked.  They are able to sense and communicate with each other, as well as share their knowledge, language and skills.

Biological Preservation Organization (BPO), is an organization who are attempting to hunt down the sensates

The plot will start with the “rebirthing”, meaning that when those in clusters start to ‘visit’ one another, it will be the first time they have done so.

WHATEVER YOU THOUGHT YOU KNEW ABOUT THE WORLD, ABOUT HUMANITY, ABOUT EVOLUTION --FORGET IT .  The world is. so much better than any of us had originally thought. There are beings among humanity, evolving throughout eons to be concealed in plain sight, who face not ONE birth but TWO. The second birth, a psychic one, links individuals who breathed together on the earth their first breaths and binds their minds in a web of psychic and empathic connections-- each of them experiencing the world differently and yet together. ( Beautiful this new birth, like any other birth, but brought of blissful light and a mental cosmic explosion, more advanced than the butchery of physical birth-- divine instead of debased ) Of course, there are those who FEAR the abilities that might be capable of minds and souls and hearts linked so intimately. The BPO seeks to turn these SENSATES into lab rats, walk them into labs, torture and sedate and gas them until their clusters have all been tracked down or exterminated. ( All it takes is eye contact from one of the BPO sensate agents, and the cluster is immediately vulnerable ). WHO ARE YOU WILLING TO FIGHT FOR, to die for, to live for-- because mark our words, we will bring you WAR.

Lukas Engström // 34 // Doctoral Student in Theoretical Physics // Cluster [10/10/1983]

Biography:

Born to Nils and Catharina Engström, a Swedish Navy Officer and florist respectively, Lukas was the only child among a large family. While he wasn’t naturally gifted, he worked hard at every academic endeavor he attempted. Rather than attend university in the town where he was born, Lukas decided to study abroad at St Andrews in Scotland for theoretical physics and engineering. A lifelong for his father’s service instilled in him a love for his country, and midway through his MPhys Lukas decided to begin training for service once he returned home. Lukas eventually returned to Sweden with his degree and enrolled in postgrad at Lund University Helsingborg to live with his parents and help them out. His mother’s health was failing, and with no siblings to help out the burden fell onto Lukas’ shoulders.

She lived for ten long years before passing. Lukas, now a full-time researcher at the Helsingborg Campus, was attending her funeral with his father when he was born by the kind woman in glasses. From then on his life was not just his own--it belonged to seven other people, as their lives belonged to him. Languages, knowledge, stories, experiences he had never had were suddenly his own in a way he could not describe. He found solidarity and affection in Sara Lance ( @canariism ) and Ray Palmer ( @atomiism ), Americans he shared only superficial things in common with, but who quickly entangled themselves in his heart.

Personality:

While naturally kind, Lukas tends to distance himself emotionally in favor of looking at the facts. Growing up without many friends, he tends to favor statistics rather than feelings. When he embroils himself in his work, he is rarely able to be roused from anything else, and his addiction to coffee is something all of his cluster suffers from. The death of his mother has hit him hard, keeping him from feeling as though he can fully commit to his life while being concerned for his father.
