In a bit of follow up to my previous question; do any of Teyvat's odd weather phenomenon exist, even though it all has supernatural causes? Like, does Tsurumi have heavier fog? Seirai more frequent storms? Is the area where Apep's sandstorm is just more prone to sandstorms? Has Sumeru ever had a phenomenon similar to Withering, even though they wouldn't have to deal with forbidden knowledge? Also- does the Vourukasha Oasis have anything special about it?
(And a bit related- what do you think of the theory that a nail fell on Tsurumi island, based off of the tree found there that's the same as the ones in Dragonspine, the Chasm, and the Orchard of Pairidaeza?)
answering the last one first because i do sort of subscribe to that theory! even though the nail is nowhere to be seen, it would absolutely explain the time fuckery going on in there if a tree was punctured. that plus the celestia murals sort of seem to hint at that (at least i remember there being celestia murals i might be missremembering and thinking of the stuff under yashiori (i think?))
as for the main question, i think the answer would be an it depends? i think there would absolutely be more sandstorm-prone areas in the desert, and the rainforest could have some ailments that are just from like- humans messing up and going oh wait, no we don't want that, we need to be more environmentally-friendly (this isn't irl so i'm taking the easier route out and saying they got their shit together like ultra fast in teyvat on a good chunk if not most sociopolitical and ecologic problems. this isn't the focus of the fic anyway) idk what the weather on tsurumi was like pre-time fuckery? if it's mentioned, i can't recall- but if we're going with a green dragonspine then we're probably going with a fog-less tsurumi. seirai's storms are the fault of ei and the thunderbird so yeah those aren't there. seirai is a normal and inhabited island for that matter, none of that... y'know.
as for the vorukasha oasis, i'd have to brush up on my desert lore bc if it was formed due to egeria's corpse, then i'm afraid it won't be there. like i know she died in tunigi hollow but her corpse much closer to the oasis than it is there so idk. but if it was a naturally-occuring oasis before egeria and she just- i mean it says the amrita pool 'nourished' the oasis, but like- did it create it? or did it just make it more- like. did it just make it bigger and prettier is my question. if it's the latter then the oasis was there before it just wasn't as pretty and likely didn't have enough energy to sustain the giant fuckoff tree (i forget the name). so it would be just a bigger version of the naturally-ocurring oases around upper and lower setekh

okay so you know how crystalflies are attrached to elemental energy? consider this: old Mondstadt had a lot of crystalflies back in the day. Feasting on the amount of storm energy there is. Decarabian has a couple floating around him and the first time those crystal butterflies landed on Amos she froze in place. Fear of butterflies unlocked. Deca noticed her unease and held her arm as a couple butterflies rested on her. Even after the storm god died the crystalflies of mondsadt flock to her
Aw 🥺 but also fear of butterflies justified 👍
And also apparently lingering remains can stick to a person if they knew them for a long time/killed them so 😔

Dani has a Mallen streak in her hair, and the reason for that had been usage of a Pyro Delusion acquired during the time she abandoned the Fatui. She had taken it and the uniform off a slaughtered Pyro agent and used it to sneak/fight her way to freedom, promptly passing out once the adrenaline wore off.
She planned to dispose of it immediately afterwards, having become wary of it after noticing the greying, but ultimately chose to keep it in reasoning that it could come in handy. Even if she is still sort of afraid of it.
#hc; genshin#v; intertwined fates (genshin verse)#//Her plan to escape had basically been Pretend to be a different Fatui and sneak out#//But ended up raising too much suspicion so the plan then became Fight my way out as different Fatui so they’re blamed as deserter; not me#//Worked decently well; esp after releasing an experimental subject who Also when ape shitt on the nearby Fatui#//She knew if she went on by slaughtering; she could have her own disappearance passed off as likewise having been killed#//Esp since only a select handful ever saw her face; and most she did target on her way out#//But it’d be FINE; she reasoned then—she wasn’t particularly close for them to really care anyways#//The real problem had been actually getting off and away from Inazuma to complete her escape#//Which had been accomplished with a Waverider and by the skin of her teeth#//With a little aid from her Vision; too—that’s probably what helped her break past the storm enough#//Enough before the waverider did break and she had to glide/swin the rest of the way to Guyun Stone Forest#//Then getting off THERE had been a whole other can of worms to deal with#//But hey; at least she was free; right?#//Back on topic; she has used the Delusion a couple times since#//At first; she felt exhausted after use; then it actively showed signs of draining her vitality and the greying began#//She definitely mildly terrified of it; but it’s an asset all the same so she doesn’t get rid of it#//Only three people in her little group are aware she has it; because they got to see her break it out in a pinch#//One of whom had been her group’s healer who had Not been happy to see it#//For a slew of reasons besides the obvious#//Genuinely only has it as a last ditch effort—will Not use it until her whole team is down and/or she’s near on her last legs#//Which is still dicey af; considering it’s effects. but hey; if it can help in a pinch? any all means; she’ll gladly take the risks#//She still kept the uniform; actively displays the mask in her room like a trophy#//Can and will don it again for lols; she like how it feels#//Uses it a lot when she steals things in Mond/other nations#//Identifiable as a Pyro agent who seem to exclusively use melee attacks. and an odd burst of hydro#//But if she’s forced to do the latter; then she’s gotta kill all witnesses for sure. or try to; anyways#//She assumes the Delusion itself caused the greying; it’s actually bc she used it AND her Vision in tandem#//The severe strain on her body is what caused it and will continue to if she isn’t wary of that

Is it really love that XIAO’s feeing? He can’t be sure, especially when he can’t even identify the complicated emotions that are making his heart flutter.
However, there’s no time to sit here pondering and examining, not when his heart longs for you at the very mention of your name, or how he just can’t seem to get the thought of you out of his head. He has to find a way to express what he’s experiencing, and soon, before the three words he dreads to speak escapes his lips against his will.
“I love you.”
You’d think it’d be such an easy task to complete, yet the adeptus grows uneasy at the mere thought of it. Perhaps denying him is the worst possible solution, but what should happen if you grow wary of him? Would you stray from his occasional touch, and fail to meet his eye? Xiao can’t risk finding out, yet by the day his quickened heartbeat seems to be growing all the louder.
“Ah, Xiao.” A faint smile crosses your face as you glimpse the familiar male at his usual spot, standing alone by the balcony railing, his arms crossed over his toned chest. “You wanted to speak to me?”
“Yes, he speaks slowly, wanting to prolong this moment - to see your warm smile just a fraction longer. “There is something… I must tell you.”
You cock your head, letting out a little laugh upon seeing his troubled expression. “There’s no need to be nervous, go ahead!”
Would there be a need to if you knew what he was to ask of you?
He shakes his head lightly as to clear his meddling thoughts, his hair ruffled from the breeze. “I…I don’t know how to put this, but I-“ His breath catches in his throat, and he forces a swallow. “You’re all I think about, all I dream about. I’d do anything and everything for you. I love you, so please… let me call you mine. I just, I…” Xiao can’t even begin to explain what he’s feeling right now, or give a valid explanation for his actions. His gaze doesn’t miss the shocked expression that flits across your face, his own eyes hesitant to meet yours. But they do, upon hearing the melodic sound of your voice uttering his name.
“Xiao, I… archons, do you know how happy you’ve just made me?” Your words are breathy as you take in a shallow inhale.
He blinks once, and suddenly, you’re in his arms, pressing against him like you never want to let him go.
Warm.
In the pale moonlight, the smile that graces his lips is slight, but catches your attention all the same.
“Perhaps I was made to love you.” ♡
Tumblr media
Yes, he’s heard tales of this adoration before, and however unfamiliar, KAZUHA as to convey these feelings before he’s unable to contain them a second longer.
Perhaps that was why he had unconsciously invited you out for a quiet stroll around Guyun Stone Forest, where the Crux was currently anchored. It was an innocent request, but the male did have some ulterior motives in mind - perhaps you’d understand if you read one of the many poems he’s written while thinking about you… lips pressed together in thought, a quill in his dominant hand as the other sat beneath his chin, the dim candlelight illuminating the focused expression on his face, his cheeks just slightly flushed with red…
Ah, but there’s no chance in Celestia that he’d ever show you his works of you. Those words are for him to read, just like what he’ll say to you tonight is for only you to witness.
Kazuha takes you by the hand, his touch warm in the cool night air. His bandaged fingers intertwine with yours, and while you don’t make a move to retract, his grip on you tightens all the same.
“Kazuha? Why’re…” While your companion has always been rather open to displaying his physical touch, he had never been this daring before, to take your hand and not even uttering a word about the manner. Something about his air was different this evening, but it was difficult to put a finger on it, especially with the distracting smile he sent your way that seemed to make your mind go blank.
“Hm? Is there something wrong?” He can’t possibly ask a question with that charming face of his and expect to receive a proper answer. Instead, you just sheepishly tilt your head to where the two of you’s hands meet. At that, he lets out a low chuckle, the gleam in his eyes proving his amusement. He doesn’t know what has given him this amount of confidence, how he’s become bold enough to pull you closer… perhaps it was the sake Beidou offered to him earlier? That’s the only possible explanation.
Gently, like the warm breeze, he lifts your hand, swiftly getting down on a knee as he brushes his velvet lips against your skin.
“Have I made my infatuation towards you apparent yet? I love you.”
The moment seems to pause time, everything, all of it, but you can sense how your lips move despite how you’re still frozen, “I love you too, Kazuha.”
Ah, the way his name rolls of your tongue so naturally sends his heart racing.
“It’s always, always been you.” ♡
Tumblr media
As much as he’ll try to deny it, WANDERER, who doesn’t even have a heart to ponder these sensations, knows that what you’re doing to him is something he doesn’t wish to admit.
It’s unfair, really, how easily you’re able to sway his resolve. Every part of you is simply infuriating, from the way you say his name, to the way you gaze at him, it makes his face warm, and seemingly nothing he does is able to prevent that. And it’s strange, how he can still experience these… affections, even with his missing core. If it makes any sense, you bring a sort of humanity to him.
It was a philosophy he had crafted for himself - that there were certain aspects of what made one human, requirements that the puppet had been unable to fulfill. That is, until you appeared, because you made him feel something he didn’t want to confess, and bearing… love… made him like you.
At the same time, it scares him. Love is a foreign concept, if anything, and he’s constantly afraid that he’ll make a mistake that’ll cause you to leave him. He can’t let that happen - he can’t even imagine his life without your warmth now. Ah, but if he told you how he really felt, would that keep you by his side? He’s paranoid, yet desperate for your affection, and a confession seems to be his only solution.
A letter bearing your name arrives at your doorstep, the only evidence of the sender being a small sparrow perched upon the paper, chirping insistently until you had taken the envelope.
Meet me at our usual spot at dusk.
Those seven words are all that’s written on the blue-rimmed parchment, with no signature to identify the individual, yet you let out an amused laugh. There’s only one companion with this amount of audacity, and you can already picture his scowl as he wrote these words.
“Hello?” You tentatively call out his name into the evening air, glancing around yet seeing no sign of him. There’s a great gust of wind, and there he appears, donning his signature ridiculously large hat, the dangling charms on it swaying with the breeze.
“There you are.” Crossing your arms over your chest, you smile. “For a second, I thought you were going to ditch me for the fun of it.” Truthfully, you wouldn’t put it past him.
He ignores the comment. “There’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you.”
You’re slightly startled by his suddenly serious tone, but nod along. “Alright…?”
“I like you.”
“…Sorry?” How strange, it seems like today your ears have decided to play tricks on you?
A light scowl makes its way upon his face as he visibly grits his teeth. “Augh, fuck it- I said, I love you, idiot.”
There’s no mistaking the flush that’s descended upon his expression, dusting the tips of his ears and his cheeks. “Uh?” You sound stupid, but that’s the only sound you’re able to utter as you stare at the male in utter shock.
“I’m not repeating myself three times.”
You shake your head, frantic as you can feel your heart rate increasing. “No- I heard you the first time it’s just that- I…” it’s hard to explain what you’re feeling right now, so you don’t, instead wrapping your arms around and pulling the two of you closer.
He seems to melt in your hold.
“I can’t even begin to fathom my life without you, so please, stay by my side.” ♡

to be loved by a poet

A gentle breeze caressed your cheek, carrying with it the warmth of a sun setting over the horizon. Beneath the sprawling tree in the Guyun Stone Forest, two mortals found solace in each other’s company. Kazuha, with a tender glint in his eyes, coaxed a melody from a leaf, its tranquil notes mingling with the whispers of the wind.
“How does it sound? I tried to recreate the wind’s voice from our last journey, to share its essence with you.” Kazuha asked, with his smile as serene as the sunset.
“It’s beautiful! It reminds me of those quiet hills where the wind sings softly.” you replied, savoring an egg tart from your plate, a moment of shared peace.
Kazuha's gaze softened as he wiped a stray crumb from the corner of your lips. “In my eyes, a deity feasts upon a humble treat, yet it is my heart you devour. How has my mortal soul come to deserve such divine grace?”
A smiled crept up your face at Kazuha's poetic words, the sincerity in his eyes warming your heart even more than the sun overhead. You put down the egg tart and smiled back at him, the tranquility of the moment wrapping around you both like a gentle embrace. “You always know the right words to say, Kazuha.” you replied softly, leaning closer to him.
“Moments like these feel like they belong to another world, a world where time slows down and all that exists is us.”
With his words flowed like a gentle river, each syllable a caress that soothed and uplifted. It felt as though the very essence of love and serenity was woven into his voice, creating an atmosphere of tranquility and warmth.
“Go on…" you murmured, captivated by the magic of his speech. “Continue, please. I am eager to hear your thoughts, for they bring such peace to my soul.”
He smiled with a tender light in his eyes, and resumed his lyrical musings, each word a balm to your spirit, resonating deeply within your heart. “The taste of egg tart on your lips, a sweetness I adore, yet pales before the essence of the heart that I implore. Oh, the heavens have bestowed a gift, so precious and divine, a glimpse of eternity, where your hand is held in mine.”
You smiled and eyes softening as you continued to listen to Kazuha reciting his poem. His voice was like a gentle breeze, each word a delicate petal carried on the wind.
“Your laughter is a song, a serenade to the night, guiding me like a lighthouse through the tempest's might. In your eyes, I see a reflection of the boundless sea…A promise of adventures that await both you and me.” Kazuha's words hung in the air, a silence fell between you, charged with the weight of his heartfelt confession.
With cheeks flushed a deep crimson with heart pounding with a mix of joy and embarrassment. You looked down, unable to meet his intense gaze, a shy smile tugging at your lips. “Kazuha, that was… breathtaking. I’ve never heard anything so beautiful. You have a way of making me feel like the most special person in the world.” you managed to say, your voice barely above a whisper.
His eyes softened as he took your hand, his thumb tracing gentle patterns on your skin. “If only I could capture this moment in a bottle, to cherish forever...” he murmured, his voice barely louder than the whispering breeze. “The world is vast and ever-changing, but here, with you, I find a stillness that eludes me everywhere else.”
Silence settled between you, the rustling leaves and distant calls of the ocean creating a symphony that filled the air. You closed your eyes, letting the sounds and sensations wash over you, grounding you in the peacefulness of the moment.
After a while, Kazuha spoke again, his voice is a projection of a soothing lullaby. “Do you ever wonder what lies beyond the horizon? What adventures await us in lands unknown?”
You nodded, gaze drifting towards the horizon where the sea met the sky. “I do. I dream of exploring new places, of seeing the world through different eyes. But right now, I can't imagine wanting to be anywhere but here, with you.”
Kazuha with his grip on your hand tightened slightly, a silent promise of many more moments like this to come. “Wherever our journeys take us, know that you will always have a place in my heart, a companion in every journey.”
Slowly you leaned your head on his shoulder, feeling the warmth of his presence seep into you. “And you in mine, Kazuha. Always.”
“And as the sun descends, painting the sky with gold, I wish to carve these moments into stories yet untold. For in the quietude of twilight, under the Guyun Stone's gaze, I find my heart entangled in your love’s endless maze.” Kazuha's lips brushed gently against your forehead as the sun dipped below the horizon, enveloping you in a warm, golden embrace.
The sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the landscape, you both remained under the tree, savoring the simple joy of being together.
Tumblr media
In my eyes, a deity feasts upon a humble treat, yet it is my heart you devour. How has my mortal soul come to deserve such divine grace?
The taste of egg tart on your lips, a sweetness I adore, yet pales before the essence of the heart that I implore. Oh, the heavens have bestowed a gift, so precious and divine, a glimpse of eternity, where your hand is held in mine.

“Oh..” you murmured in less than a whisper. You were hidden behind a few rocks; you had come to meet Morax, the god of Liyue, but your dearest friend, Guizhong, was already there with him, and it looked like they were having a moment. You couldn’t help but want to listen in, because after all it was Morax who you had loved for most of your life.
You were a foreigner to Liyue; you came from Inazuma. But you weren’t any ordinary Inazuman. You were the third and youngest of the Raiden sisters, who ruled over Inazuma itself. No one other than the archons knew about your existence, because Ei and Makoto kept you a secret, protected. Although not many knew, there had indeed been a few attempts on the lives of the Raiden sisters, and this was what they wanted to protect you from.
After you had a few centuries of battle experience and training under your bag, you were allowed to explore the world. You were not tied down with the duties of ruling Inazuma. Naturally, you attracted the attention of the gods, each one of them remarking on how you inherited all the characteristic features of the Raidens.
Only the heavens above knew how you managed to become the best friend of one of the major gods, and that too Morax. But he was the reason you chose to settle down in Liyue. As time passed, your feelings for Morax, also called Zhongli by his friends, also grew more than platonic.
Now see, you knew Morax was something of a blockhead when it came to feelings. So you didn’t think much when Morax kept sending you mixed signals. You both were immortal gods after all, you had all the time in the world. You continued to hopelessly fool yourself, thinking that just perhaps, there was a chance of him loving you back.
Then came the goddess of Dust, Guizhong. A minor goddess she was, but a wonderful one. It didn’t take her too long to make her way into everyone’s hearts, including yours and Zhongli’s. While you both quickly grew into fast friends, there was just one thing that constantly irked you. Just one. It was the way she quickly grew so incredibly close to Zhongli.’
You knew that Guizhong fancied Zhongli; she confessed it to you yourself. You were forced to merely plaster a fake smile upon your face and laugh her words off.
That brought you to this day: watching Guizhong confess to Zhongli. And the amount of heartbreaking anguish when Zhongli accepted with a smile, pulling her in close, after having remained oblivious to all your advances over the decades…. It was just… You couldn’t handle it. It was too much.
You quietly sneaked away as soon as possible. And then.. And then came the coughs and the bloodstained petals. Being from Inazuma, you knew all about it of course. Hanahaki. Needless to say, you were horrified. Since that day, you somewhat avoided the duo on the pretext of the ongoing Archon War. It was here that you showed your true battle prowess as a Raiden. You alone decimated entire armies of the enemies, leaving not even ashes.
The war went on for months. You lost many allies in fighting to ensure that Makoto and Morax got seats in the Seven. Till sundown you fought without relent, showing that even a beauty can be dangerous. At night, you gave your fallen comrades the proper, respectful  farewell they deserved. By now, only the last few contenders for the heavenly thrones were left. The last opponent for Morax was the ocean god, Osial, in Guyun Stone Forest, and his followers. Recognising the serious threat he posed, you did agree to team up with Morax to eliminate him. The path for Morax to become an archon would then become clear. Through experience, you both knew that you two together were a formidable force.
The battle was a long and exhausting one. You both started at sunrise, and barely managed to subdue him by sundown, having understood that even with their combined power, they would not be able to kill Osial. You both went back to your makeshift camp, looking forward to just resting for the night. Thank the gods you had very few coughing fits during the battle.
And yet, the moment you stepped past the protected borders, you felt that familiar eerie chill that crept up your spine. The heavy silence that hung ominously, the one that meant something was dreadfully, terribly wrong. And you were right. You took in the scene. The five Yakshas of Liyue were present, and they seemed to be sealing some sort of hexagonal structure, which was suspended above a figure. And the figure…
Was Guizhong.
Any dislike you harboured towards the Goddess of Dust disappeared as you laid your eyes upon the figure that had been turned to stone. The first and utmost thought in your mind was that something was wrong with your second best friend. Evidently Morax had come to the same conclusion. He let out a strangled sound as you both ran towards what remained of Guizhong. As you both gingerly touched her as if she was made of glass instead of stone, you knew. It was clear- Guizhong was no more.
Despite your stormy emotions, it seemed you were capable of only letting out a few tears. Morax seemed to be physically incapable of crying, yet his emotions were plainly displayed on his face for all to see.
That night, you stayed with Morax, doing your best to comfort him, despite needing comfort yourself. Neither of you had any more tears to shed.
That night, Morax has emerged as one of the Seven with your help, but you both lost Guizhong along the way.
~◈~
2 millenia had passed since the Archon War, and it left its scars on everyone. However, you could be lying if you said that you didn’t feel relieved that Guizhong was out of the way. You also felt guilty for feeling like that. But it was rather funny, how you managed to survive with your hanahaki for 2000 years, while most died within a few months. You supposed the reason was that Morax, who now completely lived as the mortal Zhongli in the Harbor, was seriously the absolute master at giving out mixed signals. He often unknowingly did things that lovers did, giving you hope. Yet that hope gets squashed a few days later, and the cycle continues. In all honesty, the hanahaki wasn’t really a big problem, more like a chronic disease that you had come to accept as a part of your life.
You knew that while Zhongli had mostly recovered by now, he still irrationally blamed himself for Guizhong’s death. You often told him to move on, yet he never said anything. You could see how opposed he was to the idea though. That’s why it was a surprise when he invited you to his office in the funeral parlor right after you returned from Inazuma. You could see on his face that there was something that pleased him. He first enquired about your travels and stuff, then said, “[name], do you remember how you’ve always told me to move on?” “Oh yes. Have you been thinking about that?” “Indeed. Although Guizhong will always have a special place in my heart, I believe that I am now ready to mingle again. I realised recently… that I have feelings for someone new.”
You couldn’t deny the flutter of excitement you felt on hearing those words. Was this finally it? “That’s great Zhongli! Who is it?” “Do you know the Traveler, Lumine? It’s her. I met her a while back, when you were out on your travels. I love her so much.” He proceeded to tell you all about Lumine. He was lovestruck and you could see that. With every word he spoke, you felt your heart drop more into your stomach. You were doomed. Utterly doomed.
All this time, you’d just been deluding yourself, lying to yourself. He had never loved you, and he never would. You were struggling to keep your easy smile glued to your face as yet again, you felt something rise up your throat. You politely managed to excuse yourself, your voice coming out all scratchy and raw. Once you walked out of his cabin, you sprinted towards the confines of your home. By the time you locked yourself in, some petals had already escaped and blood was smeared across your palm.
You were hunched over the sink, which was already full of flowers and blood within a few minutes. It hurt. Everything did, both your body and your broken heart. You knew your impending death was near, because never had your hanahaki been this severe. You couldn’t undergo the surgery because Zhongli was a massive part of your life, and simply forgetting about him would raise a barrage of questions. Plus, you still loved Zhongli too much to forget about him, despite the fact that somewhere deep down, you always knew that he’d never love you back.
~◈~
Your time was very close. The past few days had been spent isolated into the confines of your home, claiming to be exhausted from your latest journey whenever someone came to visit. Funnily enough, today was the day when Zhongli’s former love, and your former best friend, Guizhong, had died. In short, her death anniversary. Seemed it would be yours too.
You usually avoided visiting Guizhong’s memorial and burial site, which was in an isolated cave near Liyue Harbour. However today you thought it was fitting for you to pay your respects to her for the last time. And so, you dragged yourself out in the early morning, before sunrise. You left before anyone could see you, before he could see you.
By the time you are at your destination, your condition has significantly worsened due to the physical strain. It’s all you can do to respectfully place the flowers beside her memorial and lean against the wall. You began to speak to no one in particular in a cracked voice. “Hey Gui…? I hope.. You are at.. Peace… Just know that… I’ve never… hated you.. You’ve always been my.. Best friend.”
“How lucky you were… to be loved by Zhongli.”
Your throat choked up, not because of emotion, but because of another bout of bloody flowers. Not wanting to die there because he would see you, you got yourself out and into another deserted cave just beside. Not the best, but you had no choice. You had merely left a few petals at the entrance of both caves and a faint trail of blood in between.
By now, you had fallen to the ground in searing agony as flower after bloodstained flower forced its way out of your raw throat. You were lying on a bed of the flowers you yourself had coughed out.
How long it had been, you did not know. Perhaps minutes, perhaps hours. You started coughing again, not a moment’s respite. Your life force was almost completely drained. Any moment now.. You would be free.
It was then that you heard a horrified voice ring through the silence. “[Name]!”
~◈~
Zhongli was up at sunrise. Despite his new love, his mood was somber- it was Guizhong’s death anniversary. He had every intention to continue visiting her memorial. As usual, he sought you out. There was a rare chance that if you were in the mood, you would accompany him to pay respects to Guizhong. Yet when he knocked at your door several times and received no response, he chose to leave you alone, despite being slightly worried. You usually did respond at the very least, but he was sure you were alright,
He stopped short in front of the cave which housed Guizhong’s memorial. There was a fresh bouquet of Glaze lilies. But who brought them here? Especially since this place was practically unheard of. He took a few quick steps forward and kneeled down to inspect the bouquet. His heart lurched.
Attached to the bouquet was a small note that said, ‘To my dearest best friend, Guizhong.’ There was no name, but he recognised the handwriting well enough. [name] had already been here. Without him? Was there a reason?
His eyes were drawn to something else too. Relatively new footprints in the soil. And blood.
Blood?
His heavy footsteps echoed in the cave as he quickly walked out, following the faint trail of footprints, blood and petals. They were leading him to a nearby cave. His heart rate accelerated as he heard heavy coughing.  And behold the sight that awaited him- an utterly pretty bed of flowers and petals stained in a blood red, and someone coughing while lying on it.
“[Name]!” He cried out, completely horrified.
You curled into yourself even more on hearing his voice. All you wanted was to die in peace, why did he have to make things more difficult? Why did he have to come here? The flowers started choking and constricting your throat on their way up, ever more unrelenting, fueled by the appearance of the one who caused them. It was so hard to breathe… Just a bit more…
You felt yourself being gently lifted into someone’s strong and warm embrace. You weakly met Zhongli’s eyes, which were full of panic. You’d only seen him lose his composure like this once before, his fear more than evident on his face. “[name]- I- What happened? Please, tell me! I- I can’t lose you too!” He exclaimed frantically, feeling your life ebb away second by second, with each cough that released blood and Glaze lilies.
Your throat constricted even more, making it excessively hard to breathe. You just wanted to rest, It was all you could do to force a few broken words from your raw throat.
“...Hana..haki…” That was all Zhongli needed to know to understand. His pupils dilated in fear even more. “Who.. Who is it who made you suffer this way?” Zhongli whispered, unable to take in your completely broken state. You didn’t respond for a few moments, feeling your eyelids shut. You forced them open, not wanting to leave him hanging. “Always.. Loved you.. Always will… Be happy.. For me.. Okay? That is my last wish.” You weakly tried to reach a hand towards Zhongli, who instantly grasped it tightly in hsi, and pressed it against his face, as the realisation hit him like a truck. “What..?” He whispered softly.
Your eyes started to droop again, and you gave in, feeling nothing but qa soft ringing in your ears as your senses dulled. “[name], no, please don’t leave me!” Zhongli cried out in panic, grief and anguish, seeing you slip away from him. You simply let a small smile rest on his face as you whispered, “Just.. sleeping.. Tired.” Unable to accept your fate, he whispered, “Sleep well then, my dearest.”
But you never lived to hear that.
Because then you moved no more.
Was fate trying to mock him with [name] dying in his arms, in front of him, on the same day as Guizhong’s death? You were always there for him, always there with him, until you weren’t. And never in his immortal life was Zhongli able to forgive himself for this, knowing that he was the reason you were dead.
mm yes now hows that huh? gonna disappear for a few days now haha tags and comments are very much appreciated!

Part VI
BSD Characters: Self-Aware! Teruko Okura, Self-Aware! Fyodor Dostoevsky, Self-Aware! Howard Philips Lovecraft
Genshin Impact characters: Liyue Characters
Reader: Fem! Adult! Reader
Warning: English is my second language
🐙 Your "adventure" has started at the top of one of the cliffs in Guyun Stone Forest. It took some time for you to get down. The cliff were slippery (either because of the sea or, perhaps, it was raining right before you got here), so, you tried to be careful. At the end, when you almost fall down, Lovecraft partly transformed (with his hands and legs are now replaced with tentacles) and simply crawl down, holding you, Teruko and Fyodor. You only hopped, that no one saw you. Transformed Lovecraft (even partly) was a strange, if not a frightening sight (for strangers).
And you jinxed it. Sailors from the Crux saw Lovecraft. And were thinking, that Osial got from his prison.
Crux left for the Harbor to get help.
While you and your friends trying to understand, what happened and how you got here.
🐾 Despite the fact, that you were knowledgeable about Teyvat, the situation didn't become clear. But, at least, you have a project of a plan. Go to Sumeru and ask Nahida for help. Maybe, she could give you some information on how to get home.
That's when a first stone spear fall from above.
If it wasn't for Lovecraft's strength, the spear would crush you.
Geo Archon's voice shake the ground.
"Osial! How dare you to show yourself! I will make you pay for daring to enter Her Holiness' land!"
Suddenly, everything became silent. Up above, you saw them. Zhongli... no, Rex Lapis and Adepti. For some reason... Xiao looked hesitant.
And golden draconic eyes stared right at you.
Next spear was directed at you.
"IMPOSTER! DIRTY SINNER! PAY FOR HEARSAY WITH YOUR LIFE!"
And hell broke loose.
Morax, Adepti, Mililith and Crux crew attacked.
👧👩🧓🐙🐁Teruko, with her ability and sword, and fully transformed Lovecraft were keeping mililith away, while Fyodor was staying near you, ready to use his ability, if someone get too close.
When Lovecraft saw the opportunity, he grabbed you three with his tentacles, and plunge into the sea, swimming away.
On his way, he sunk Crux ship.
Beidou's curses were heard for long time and far away from the Stone Forest.
🐾 You returned to land somewhere in Bishui Plain. All of you were wet, hungry and exhausted. You found an abandoned hilichurl camp and decided to stay here for the night. After some grilled fish for dinner, you fall asleep in one of the huts. Teruko was the first one to stay on watch. Then you. Then Fyodor. And, finally, Lovecraft.
You woke up because someone was pocking your cheek and because of some tasty smell.
When you open your eyes, you came face to face with Gouba, who was pocking your cheek, and Lovecraft, who was keeping an eye on "panda".
Lovecraft tilted his head.
"We have guests. And breakfast."
🐾 Xiangling and Gouba were gathering ingredients for some big feast, while Xinyan, Chongyun and Xingqiu were helping them. That's when they found "your" camp.
And decided to help you.
When Lovecraft and Gouba, with you in tow, left the hut, you saw, that Fyodor and Teruko were already up and sitting near campfire, with Liyue Team. And then, Chongyun saw you. Exorcist particularly jumped.
"You! Your energy... It's pure... I knew, I knew, she was fake! I told you many times about it!" Last part, Chongyun hissed through his teeth, looking at Xingqiu. He raised his hands in defense.
"I knew, but.. We can't do much against her."
You glance at Lovecraft, then at Teruko and Fyodor. While Fyodor does look like he understands more, than the rest of you, he still looked confused.
🐾You got your answers during breakfast. Apparently, you looked like Creator Goodness, that rules Teyvat. And, apparently, because of that, most people will hate you and try to capture you. And, maybe, because Ningguang already placed a bounty on your head.
And Creator's political power is enormous, so, people would be afraid to help you.
The situation was bad... Awful...
Suddenly, Xinyan almost shouted.
"Doctor Baizhu and Qiqi! You can hide in Bubu's Pharmacy! They managed to keep it closed from sudden checks from Mililith, because they would bother patients!"
Teruko raised an eyebrow.
"And how we will get here? It's in the harbor, right? We would be attacked."
Xiangling smiles.
"With two little helpers."
🐁 Yaoyao was a great tour guide. And, what was most important, she knew, where to find Qiqi, when she was picking up herbs.
Yaoyao also was very talkative. And, because she overheard, how Fyodor was mumbling in Russian, she couldn't leave him alone. She asked him to say names of everything around her in "strange new language". Fyodor answered her questions. Soon Teruko joined the "educational program." Chongyun, who was staying near you, "masking your energy" with his yang energy. Lovecraft was last in line.
When you found Qiqi, with some help from Yaoyao, she took you to Dr. Baizhu.
For some reason, Qiqi stayed close to Lovecraft.
🐾 You were lucky again, because Baizhu let you four stay, until madness calmed down.
For two weeks, everything was fine. You and Fyodor helped in Pharmacy, Lovecraft and Teruko helped with picking up herbs.
You managed to meet Yun Jin and Gaming. Both of them believed, that you didn't do anything wrong. They even offered to help you, if they could.
And then, a scared Xingqiu appeared in Bubu Pharmacy.
Ningguang and Rex Lapis were ready to look through every house in Liyue to find "dirty imposter".
And if people resist? Well, they will face the wrath of rock.
And, currently, they doubled the number of mililith soldiers on streets.
Fyodor remained calm.
"I have a plan. Can you call for Yun Jin and Gaming?"
🐾 You four were leaving Liyue. But you still can hear sounds of music, coming from the harbor.
Opera and Wushou dance. The destruction.
That got the attention of mortals.
But not Geo Archon's.
🐾 His draconic claws were squeezing your arm. His spear were aimed directly at your chest.
Teruko, Fyodor and Lovecraft were helpless.
They can't attack him, he will kill you.
They can't kill him. You have told them about Havria.
Morax bared his fangs.
A finch flew closer to you and Morax.
Animo swirls.
Morax pained roar.
And Xiao, whose spear was plunges deep in Morax's shoulder.
"Run, Your Grace!" Xiao grind his teeth, trying to keep his hold on a spear.
Lovecraft grabbed you.
You four start running away.
Up in the sky, you noticed familiar cranes. They ignored you. Flying to where Xiao and Morax were.
Tonight, Adepti were fighting Geo Archon.
_____
🐾 When you finally returned to the real world, and discover the portal, you asked BSD Cast to rescue some people.
They helped you four, despite, how dangerous it was. And you must help them in return.

you stare.
dark brown scales, decorated with shining gold lines seem to pulse under the sunlight filtering through the curtains.
you stare harder.
the long appendage twitches before it shifts to hide behind the man standing right in front of you.
"your grace," morax coughs awkwardly into his fist and upon being greeted with your silence, decides to go back to fiddle with the coat he was halfway putting on before you barged in, "i believe it is still… thirty minutes before our scheduled stroll. is something the matter?"
instead of answering, you blurt out in an amazed voice, like a young child that just spotted their favorite candy, "you have a tail!"
"i… yes, well, considering that i am a dragon, and they do have tails-"
"it's so pretty! why don't you have it out more often?"
the genuine enthusiasm in your voice makes him smile.
"it's- ah, it could be an inconvenience sometimes."
you blink, not understanding the meaning of his words. he gives you a bashful look and proceeds to focus on his garments instead. knowing that he's not going to elaborate anymore, you choose to study the scaly appendage - unlike morax's still body, it's twitching and swaying around where it rests on the floor, almost as if…
….. hmm?
"zhongli."
"yes?"
"i love you."
the sudden confession makes him go still, and you observe his reactions in interest.
"i love you too, dearest."
aside from the short pause and the elegant smile on his lips, the man looks as dignified and unaffected as ever. however, your impossibly wide grin strains your cheeks as you eye the rhythmic thumping of his tail against the floor.
"rex lapis," you gasp, "… are you wagging your tail???"
"ahem. c-certainly not, i don't-"
"oh. my. god. that is the cutest thing ever!"
"............ beloved….."
"no no no no no if you hide your tail then i'm revoking our daily walks and regular kisses!"
zhongli's tail perks up and begins to sway anxiously, and you feel like crying from how adorable this whole thing is.
"now, let us not take such drastic measures, darling. i believe this matter can be discussed, perhaps over some tea-"
"please please please let me pet your tail!"
your lover's cheeks flush pink, and you feel like the happiest deity in teyvat.
Tumblr media
people of liyue have heard of many tales. stories about adeptus protecting liyue behind the city itself, of fearsome plains drenched in monster dust as they were struck down by their god, of the stone gate collapsing and effectively cutting off supply routes from the city of freedom - not that it has been used for quite some time now….
people of liyue have seen many things. terrifying disasters almost sinking their whole city into oblivion, their beloved archon appearing once more and taking charge against vicious monsters overrunning teyvat's landscapes, their own creator coming into liyue after continuous years of prayers and offerings…
but never in their life they would have thought the day would come when they see the god of contracts himself - known for hurling stone pillars that now stand as guyun stone forest, vanquishing countless gods in the archon wars, and sealing many divine beasts who have run rampant across the land - stroll about the city arm-in-arm with the divine creator, his draconic tail proudly in full display and gently swaying side to side as the two converses softly, eyes staring deeply into each other's akin to lovers who hadn't seen each other in eons.
they see it, and they think: yes, this tale too, shall be passed down to the younger generations.

Guyun Stone Forest.
A place where the echoes of a forgotten era still linger, the jagged cliffs standing like silent tombstones for the old gods.
It was here, amidst these towering stones, that Morax, now known as Zhongli, once clashed with Osial, a god and sea monster of unimaginable power. The stone lances that pierce the islands are the remnants of that fierce battle, each one a testament to the violence and destruction that reshaped the land.
Now, bruised and battered, Zhongli stands beside you, having guided you here by your command. You stand at the edge of the highest cliff, your gaze fixed on the ocean where Osial lies sealed beneath the ruins of the Jade Chamber.
The waves crash below, quiet yet chaotic, as if they too remember the horrors buried in the deep. The sky above is shrouded in grey clouds, a fitting shroud for the sorrow that hangs in the air.
Your eyes, usually cold and unyielding, hold a deep sadness as you stare into the distance. This place, once filled with lively memories and the warmth of your first love, now only reminds you of loss and betrayal. The memories of joy that once flourished have long since faded, leaving only the harsh reality of mortality and the fragility of existence.
This is where it all ended — where your belief in the worth of mortals began to waver. The same place where your faith was shattered, and where the light of your love was extinguished, leaving only the lingering question of whether any of it was ever truly worth it.
You remember his eyes — those stark, marine blue eyes that gazed into yours with a gentleness you had never known. It was as if he saw you for what you truly were: something fragile, something that could shatter at any moment. In his gaze, there was a softness, a tenderness that made you feel different, something almost like hope.
Before him, your life had been nothing but a long, lonely journey through the cosmos. You wandered from planet to planet, from one universe to another, without a purpose, without a destination. You fought, you killed, you survived. That was all you knew.
Those who crossed your path, who dared to stand against you, became nothing more than casualties in your relentless march. The stars themselves were silent witnesses to your existence — an existence without meaning, without a place to call home, without anyone waiting for you at the end of your journey.
You were lost, adrift in a sea of countless stars, each one a reminder of the infinite emptiness you felt inside. You had no roots, no ties, no love. All because you followed the path of Nihility, presided over by the Aeon IX. You were an Emanator, an anomaly that should not exist. The Emanator of Nihility.
Your very presence was a harbinger of war, a force that could spark countless conflicts across the galaxy. And yet, despite all this, he looked at you with those soft, understanding eyes, as if you were not a harbinger of destruction, but a fragile being in need of care.
He could see the void within you, the emptiness that had consumed you long ago. He knew you had lost the will to live, that your existence had been reduced to nothing more than a series of battles and bloodshed. He understood that you had only known fighting, killing, and surviving. And yet, he looked at you as if you were something precious, something worth saving.
As you stand on the cliff, staring out at the ocean where Osial is sealed, those memories come rushing back.
Will he still remember you? Will he recognize you? Will he still be alive, or has he become nothing more than a mindless beast, driven by a desire for destruction?
You don't know. The past, as you know, always returns to Nihility. But even so, you find yourself unable to let go of him, of the memories you shared.
For so long, you have believed that all that is past is meaningless, destined to fade into nothingness. But here, now, you find yourself clinging to those memories, to the gentle gaze of the one who saw you not as a weapon, but as a person.
And you wonder, for the first time in a long time, if perhaps there is something in this vast, empty universe worth holding on to.
"Follow me." Your voice, cold and detached, broke the silence as you commanded Morax, your presence both calm and aloof, though tinged with an unspoken sadness.
Without a second thought, you leapt from the cliff's edge, landing effortlessly on the sands below. The impact was insignificant, as if gravity itself dared not challenge you.
Zhongli followed suit, maintaining a respectful distance, his gaze occasionally drifting to the wound on your neck, where dried golden blood clung like tarnished gold.
You strode towards the ocean, your heels sinking slightly into the icy water. Without so much as a pause, you raised your right arm and, with a single, effortless motion, slashed through the air.
The ocean responded instantly, parting cleanly down the middle, as though nature itself bowed to your will. The walls of water stood tall on either side, held in place by your mere intent, defying every natural law.
Zhongli's eyes widened in awe, a silent acknowledgment of the power you wielded. There was no doubt in his mind now — you were not just a force of nature; you were the Creator of Teyvat.
Without a second glance, you began to walk through the parted sea, your heels clicking against the exposed seabed, the sound echoing eerily between the towering walls of water.
Fishes swam alongside you, trapped within the suspended ocean, their movements graceful yet confined. From a distance, the sunken Jade Chamber came into view, its once-grand structure now a shadow of its former glory.
"We need to hurry," you said, your voice resolute, your pace quickening as your thoughts centered on one thing — Osial.
You finally stand before the sunken Jade Chamber, the remnants of its grandeur submerged beneath the ocean's surface.
As you approach, you feel the unmistakable pulse of elemental energy radiating from beneath the water, a force both powerful and familiar.
This energy — Osial's energy — wraps around you like a long-lost embrace, filling you with a bittersweet comfort.
Memories flood back, clear and vivid, of the times he would conjure a massive heart out of water, floating in the air, with the words 'I Love You!!!' written boldly beside it.
He had always been so proud of his displays, a creature of immense power who wielded it not for destruction, but to create beauty and express his affection.
Despite the stories that have twisted his image over the centuries, you know the truth — Osial never sought to harm the innocent, never reveled in chaos. He loved to fight, yes, but it was always with purpose, always with restraint.
You clenched your right fist, this time wearing your metallic finger guards before tilting your head to Zhongli, "Unseal Osial." You ordered, leaving no room for an argument.
Zhongli stepped forward, his expression serious as he channeled his elemental energy. His amber eyes began to glow with the power of Geo, and in response, the Jade Chamber shimmered with the same golden light.
The structure cracked, the stone and debris crumbling away as it was consumed by his energy. Piece by piece, the Jade Chamber disintegrated into a cloud of dust, revealing the true source of its power — a sealed barrier, glowing faintly with an ancient light.
Inside the barrier, you saw him — Osial, the Overlord of the Vortex, his form massive and imposing, a five-headed hydra with a body of swirling water. His presence, even in slumber, was overwhelming. Your eyes widened as you took in the sight, your heart tightening with longing.
The barrier around Osial began to glow brighter, its light intensifying as Zhongli extended his hand, focusing his power on the seal that bound the creature. With a final surge of energy, he removed the seal, and in that moment, the barrier shattered into fragments of light, dissipating into the air.
Freed from his imprisonment, Osial roared with fury and liberation, the sound echoing across the ocean and shaking the very earth beneath your feet.
The ocean itself seemed to tremble in response, waves crashing violently against the remnants of the Jade Chamber. Osial's enormous form, now fully unleashed, surged forward, his roar reverberating through the air, a powerful and primal sound that signaled his return to the world.
You could feel Osial's elemental energy crackling in the air, a familiar yet overwhelming force that once brought you comfort.
Osial's five hydra heads thrashed wildly, each one a towering, serpentine figure made entirely of water, their eyes glowing with an intense, almost blinding light. The ocean rose to meet him, waves towering like mountains as he unleashed his wrath upon the world. His power was immense, a force of nature that few could ever hope to challenge, let alone survive.
But you weren't here to fight — at least, not to harm him. The thought of cutting down the one being who once showed you love, who once made you feel something beyond the void, weighed heavily on your heart.
You could still remember his gentle voice, his playful nature, the way he would create hearts out of water just to make you smile. Yet, here he was, consumed by rage and destruction, no longer the Osial you once knew.
He struck first, all five heads lunging at you simultaneously, their jaws snapping with the intent to tear you apart. You moved with lightning speed, your body reacting instinctively as you dodged his attacks, your form a blur against the backdrop of the stormy sea.
Each of his strikes was a testament to his power, each movement capable of leveling mountains and causing tsunamis. But you were faster, your movements precise, calculated. You dodged, twisted, and weaved through his onslaught, refusing to counter with lethal force.
"Osial, please... stop this," you whispered, though you knew he couldn't hear you, couldn't understand the pain in your voice.
He responded with another attack, a jet of water so forceful it cut through the ocean itself, aimed directly at you. You spun out of its path, the sheer speed of your movements causing the air around you to crackle with energy.
But despite your evasions, Osial's attacks grew more relentless, his anger fueling his power. Each missed strike seemed to enrage him further, and you could feel the sorrow in your heart deepen with every blow you dodged.
His fury was palpable, a mix of betrayal and pain that resonated with the turmoil within you. He was no longer the gentle god you once knew; he was a creature of pure elemental fury, driven by a desire for vengeance that you couldn't quench. But even so, you couldn't bring yourself to strike him down — not yet.
Osial lunged at you again, and this time you countered, a swift and precise movement that sent a shockwave through the air, deflecting his attack just enough to send him reeling back.
The force of your counter rippled through the ocean, parting the water beneath you as if cutting through the very fabric of reality itself. But still, you held back, refusing to unleash the full extent of your power against him.
"I don't want to hurt you, Osial," you said, your voice trembling with the weight of the words.
"But I can't let you continue like this..."
Osial's response was another furious assault, his heads snapping and thrashing with unrelenting aggression. You continued to dodge, countering only when necessary, each strike a reminder of the bond you once shared, now shattered beyond repair.
Your heart ached with every blow you deflected, knowing that each moment you held back, the more dangerous he became — not just to you, but to everything around him.
Then, in a moment of clarity, you knew what had to be done. It was the only way to stop him, the only way to save him from the madness that had consumed him.
"Please, forgive me..." you murmured, your voice trembling with emotion. "I promise we will be together... Please, have a bit more patience."
With a heavy heart, you unsheathed your Divine Key, Nihility. Its monstrous power combined with yours created a shockwave that rippled through the air, a testament to the immense strength you wielded, yet it was far from its true, awakened state.
As Osial lunged at you once more, you moved with a speed that defied comprehension, dodging his attack and positioning yourself above him. In one fluid motion, you slashed downward with your blade, the force of your strike so powerful that it seemed to tear through the very air, creating a shockwave that reverberated through the ocean. The first of Osial's heads was severed, the hydra's water-like form dissipating into mist as it fell away.
A roar of pain and fury erupted from Osial, but you didn't stop. With a heavy heart and tears in your eyes, you slashed again, cutting off the second head, then the third, and finally the fourth.
Each strike shattered the air, each slash tearing at the fabric of the dimension itself. The ocean around you trembled as the power of your attacks broke through the barriers of reality, the very sky above you cracking like glass.
As the final head fell, Osial's massive form began to collapse, his once mighty power fading into nothingness. But instead of sinking into the ocean, his body was drawn into the cracks in the dimension, the force of your slashes creating a rift in the very fabric of space. The rift widened, pulling Osial into a dark, endless void, a dimension you had inadvertently created through your immense power.
Osial's remaining head, the last vestige of his consciousness, turned to look at you one final time, and for a brief moment, you saw a flicker of recognition in his eyes — a glimmer of the Osial you once knew. It was a fleeting moment, but it was enough to break your heart all over again.
"Please rest... my dear," you whispered, as the rift closed around him, sealing him away in a place where he could no longer cause harm, but also where he could no longer be harmed.
"You will return to normal soon... The Doctor will see to it..."
The ocean slowly returned to its normal state, the waves calming as if nothing had happened. But you knew better.
You stood there, alone, your heart heavy with the weight of what you had just done. The sadness, the pain, the love — all of it mixed into a single, overwhelming emotion that threatened to consume you.
Would you ever see him again, as he once was? Would the warmth of his smile return, or was this truly the end of the Osial you had loved? You didn't know. But for now, you had done what you must, even if it meant carrying the burden of that sorrow alone.
You looked out at the horizon, the remnants of the rift barely visible, and allowed yourself to grieve, to mourn the loss of what once was, and to carry the burden of the decision you had made.
"...Let's go home, Osial," you whispered, your voice trembling with sorrow as you took one last, lingering look at the remnants of the rift where he had disappeared.

Your heels sank into the wet earth with each step, leaving shallow imprints as you walked through the rain-soaked landscape of Sumeru, heading back to Snezhnaya.
The red paper umbrella you held aloft provided little protection against the downpour, but you didn’t mind.
Your crystal-embedded dress shimmered faintly beneath the large, heavy coat that shrouded your form, the hood pulled low over your head, concealing your sorrowful, emotionless face.
Do you still remember the story of the unknown lady?
In ages long past, she was spoken of in hushed tones, her beauty silent yet profound, a mortal with a presence akin to the gods. She captured the attention of Morax, the God of Contracts, and became his second lover.
His first love, Guizhong, wise and gentle, had already held a cherished place in his heart, creating what seemed to be a harmonious trio, bound by mutual respect and love.
But in the shadows, envy festered. Osial, the Overlord of the Vortex, was consumed with jealousy. He coveted what Morax had — especially the Unknown Lady. And so, a battle of life and death erupted between these deities, a clash that shook the earth and altered the course of history.
Rex Lapis emerged victorious, sealing Osial beneath the ocean’s depths, and Guizhong stood faithfully by his side until her death. The Unknown Lady, however, vanished, her fate lost to time.
So...
Do you still remember the story of the unknown lady?
It was all a lie.
Because...
The victor writes history.
And the victor can always twist the truth to their liking.
A long, long time ago, before the Archon War had even begun, there was a beautiful lady whose name was never known. She was a mortal, yet she moved among the gods. She was not Morax’s lover — no, she was the beloved of Osial, the Overlord of the Vortex.
Morax saw her, and despite having Guizhong, he was captivated by her beauty, falling deeply in love. Guizhong, however, harbored feelings for Osial, a secret love that turned bitter.
She whispered lies, spreading rumors that the Unknown Lady was unfaithful, that she was entangled with Morax. When these poisonous words reached Osial’s ears, his heart was filled with fury, and a cataclysmic battle erupted between him and Morax.
In the end, it was Osial who lost, sealed away at the bottom of the ocean, not because he was evil, but because of a lie — a cruel rumor that twisted love into hatred and set the world ablaze.
Osial was never the villain.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
As you entered the dense forest of Sumeru, the steady rhythm of rain against the leaves was interrupted by a faint wailing.
At first, you dismissed it, assuming it to be some distant creature, but as the sound grew softer, almost desperate, a reluctant curiosity tugged at you, urging you to follow.
The ground beneath your heels was soft and muddy, your steps sinking into the earth as you moved through the underbrush, the cold rain seeping into your clothes.
The crying became clearer, more distinct, guiding you deeper into the heart of the forest. Pushing aside wet branches and overgrown foliage, you found yourself in front of a small, hollowed tree.
There, nestled within the hole, was a baby, hidden from sight and shielded from the rain by the natural curve of the trunk.
Your eyes widened in surprise at the sight of the infant, its cries now loud and clear in the stillness of the forest. You quickly scanned the area, searching for any sign of the baby’s parents, but there was nothing — no footprints, no trail, only the sound of the rain and the rustling leaves.
The child was alone, wrapped in a simple, thin cloth that did little to protect it from the cold. You noticed the baby's shivering, its tiny body trembling as the wind blew harshly through the trees.
With a moment’s hesitation, you reached out and lifted the baby from the hollow, unsure of how to properly hold such a delicate being.
The weight of the small life in your arms felt foreign, unsettling, yet something within you softened. You gently tucked the infant beneath your cloak, holding it close against your chest in an attempt to share your warmth. The baby’s cries quieted slightly as it nestled into your embrace.
"What a poor child..." you murmured, your voice barely above a whisper, devoid of the usual emotion, yet carrying a faint hint of something more — perhaps a trace of the sorrow you so often kept hidden.
Why would anyone abandon their own child? A baby is so weak, so defenseless — an easy target for monsters and wild animals alike.
The thought was incomprehensible to you, leaving a bitter taste in your mouth. You will never understand humans...
As you looked down at the small, fragile life now resting peacefully in your arms, a new question began to form in your mind:
What should you do with this little one, who has found safety in your reluctant embrace?

You find yourself at Guyun Stone Forest, staring at the deep sea, sitting on a rock, and lost in thought. The sun is setting, and you don't notice the footsteps behind you.
"Y/N?"
You turn around suddenly, scared by the sudden voice. You see a man standing there, his black and gold hair glowing by the sun rays.
"Zhongli.." You say, calmly.
He says nothing in response, sitting next to you. You look at him silently.
"So...what are you doing here?" You say softly.
Zhongli looks back at you, smiling. "I was looking for you, Y/N. Are you alright?"
You smile softly and look away from him. "Yeah, Im okay. Liyue is just really beautiful.." You turn to him again, and reach for his hand. Zhongli grabs your hand softly, cherishing it.
Zhongli sighs, "Yes, Liyue truly is beautiful. It's beauty is unrivaled. It's been this way for many centuries, yet it seems not everyone realizes how fortunate we are to have this view."
You nod in agreement. You start to say, "Zhongli..I.."
You get interrupted by a soft kiss on your cheek, and a soft chuckle. Your face burns and you hide your face in your hands, saying, "What was that for..?"
Zhongli softly says, "Although this view is beautiful, it is not nearly as beautiful as you, Y/N. Your beauty will forever be my favorite. You shine more brightly than the sun." He slowly take your hand and puts it up to his lips, smiling.
You blush, turning back to the sunset and smiling. "I'm grateful for you, Zhongli. Thank you."
"Youre welcome, Y/N."
FIN.
thank you for reading!

Fresh Snow and Twinkling Lights
Tumblr media
Zhongli x Reader / SFW / Reverse Isekai / Ending is up to interpretation / I'm a slowpoke so this is late T_T
You had left the login screen of the game open on the monitor of your computer. A sudden sound downstairs distracted you, forcing you to leave your bedroom to investigate. You never found out what the sound was, but when you returned, you froze in your doorway. The initial shock and confusion eventually wore off. If this was simply a dream, then so be it, you thought. It wasn't everyday that you get to dream about him. "The way the streets are decorated reminds me of Liyue Harbor during Lantern Rite. It's quite a beautiful sight." Zhongli remarks as the two of you take a stroll around the block. "Are you perhaps celebrating something?"
You jumped at the opportunity to tell him about the holiday that has the whole city decked out with multicolored lights, tinsel garlands, and ornamented trees. In the game, it was always Zhongli spewing stories and random trivia about every little thing you passed by. You finally had the chance to introduce him to traditions and history that he had never seen or heard of before. Along the way, you insisted on purchasing a little gem-encrusted brooch for him. He stood still while you fastened it to his lapel for him. Of course, you also filled him in on the tradition of gift-giving on Christmas as well. He listened intently to your every word, etching it carefully into his memories. "This is hot chocolate." You handed him his cup as soon as the street-side vendor had placed it on the counter.
"I can see why you enjoy this in the winter." He remarked after trying the drink. "The sweetness of the chocolate coupled with the frothy whipped cream makes for a comforting sip."
"Mines is eggnog. Do you want a taste?" You offered, holding out your cup to him.
He eyed the straw your lips had been wrapped around just a moment ago. You did not appear to mind, so he took the eggnog from your hand, giving it a try. Unlike the hot chocolate, this drink was chilled, creamy, and rich. There was a hint of alcohol in it as well.
"This one is also quite good." He smiled appreciatively.
"This is the best Christmas gift I could ask for. Thank you Zhongli." You said with a fond smile on your lips as the two of you walked along the lighted path. A Christmas date with your favorite character, even if it was just for a few hours, was enough for you to reminisce over for a good while. You just hoped you wouldn't forget everything that happened as soon as you wake up from this dream.
"You give me unearned credit, dear. Though now that you mention it, I may indeed have something I can gift you." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a flower.
It's delicate golden petals appeared to be sculped from a smooth stone. You immediately recognized it to be the Flower of Creviced Cliff, part of the Archaic Petra artifact set that you had spent weeks farming at the Guyun Stone Forest for. It felt strange, holding something from the game in the palm of your hands.
"I'll cherish it." You assured him.
This gift would disappear like morning dew, but at least you would always remember how it felt in your hands. You would also remember the feel of his hands against yours as the two of you walked side by side under the string light canopy as snowflakes fluttered to the ground around you. Zhongli had taken off one of his gloves and given it to you to wear on the hand he was not holding. All around you were strangers, but he was the only one in your eyes.
"Wait, Zhongli!" You tugged his hand.
He followed your eyes up to the curious bundle of leaves and little red berries overhead. Before he could ask you what it was, you spoke up.
"Can you close your eyes for me?"
He chuckled, taking notice of the nervous flush on your face. "Sure."
You took a step towards him, heart racing as you lifted your heel off the ground. If this was all just an indulgent dream, then surely he wouldn't mind fulfilling this little wish of yours too, right? Your lips pressed against his. As soon as he felt the touch, his eyelids fluttered open. You could hear Zhongli draw in a startled breath, but what happened next exceeded your boldest imagination. His arms circled around your waist and brought you closer. The timid ministrations of your lips against his was emboldened by his reciprocation. He held you gingerly in his arms, like the precious gift you were. Ever since he had met you, he had wondered what kind of soul was behind those starlight eyes. Now that he had truly met you, he would never allow himself to forget this magical night.
"Now will you enlighten me on the reason you've decided to kiss me?" Zhongli asks you, a gentle but obviously amused smile on his lips.
"There's a tradition..." You began explaining. Heat blossomed over your cheeks yet again. "Two people standing under a mistletoe have to kiss."
"So you wouldn't have done so if not for that plant hanging above our heads?" He asked you, although he already knew the answer.
"No! I wouldn't mind kissing you even if it wasn't there." You said all in one breath.
"I see..." He stroked his chin in contemplation. "I suppose I would not mind it either."
"You what?" It was your turn to be speechless. Even if you knew this was all just a dream, it still managed to feel unreal.
"We should head back." He simply said, reaching out to catch a handful of snowflakes. "Liyue does not experience such frigid weather. It's beautiful to behold, fresh snow and twinkling lights. Nevertheless, I would hate for you to catch a cold."
You return to your home. Your eyes drifted over to the clock on the wall. Zhongli sat on your bed, thumbing through a photo album of yours as you took a shower. When you stepped out of the bathroom, changed into a comfortable pair of pajamas, all trace of the man who had been keeping you company all evening had disappeared. Your heart fell, but it was nothing unexpected.
The fans on your computer hummed softly, indicating that it was still on. You had forgotten to shut it down before leaving the house. With a yawn, you woke up the monitor. There was Genshin, looping endlessly through the login screen, a familiar door at the center. You clicked into it.
As soon as the white screen cleared, you could see the familiar backside of Zhongli. It was expected. He was your favorite character so it was natural that you parked the game while he was the active character. You still had one daily to finish before you could log off again. Another yawn escaped you as you finished the simple task, teleporting back to the wayport closest to Katheryne. Just as you were about to exit out of the game, a glint on Zhongli's lapel caught your eye. Your heart skipped a beat. No, it can't be. You had to rub your eyes to make sure you weren't hallucinating.
There, on his lapel, was the pin you had gifted him hours ago. You had fastened it to his lapel with your own hands.
You refused to blink, afraid that the pixels your eyes were seeing would disappear the moment your eyelids closed. Maybe you had too much eggnog earlier. Or you had to still be in a dream somehow. Right, none of this had actually happened. It was time to go to sleep. You would turn on the computer and open the game as soon as you woke up in the morning. Surely everything would just go back to normal.

"ʟᴇᴛ ʏᴏᴜ ʙʀᴇᴀᴋ ᴍʏ ʜᴇᴀʀᴛ ᴀɢᴀɪɴ" God!AU (Y/N) x Zhongli/Morax
Tumblr media
Summary: (Y/N) is the God of Affection, and has a power where she can see who someone loves wholeheartedly. But everytime she looks into Morax's eyes, all she can see is Guizhong.
Author's Note: Started to slack off near the end, sorry if it sounds half-assed. (Probably because it is.) Word Count: 1,035
Morax, the Geo Archon. the God of Contracts. (Y/N), the God of Affection, Love, and all things adoration. They were a reoccurring duo that appeared throughout history. Unfortunately, the Geo Archon had recently passed away, as a result of a trial. Citizens of Liyue mourned while the worshippers of the God of Affection wondered how it had impacted their benevolent deity. In reality, Morax had taken the form of a funeral consultant named 'Zhongli', and (Y/N) had their own human form, and frequently hung out together. The love god would invite him around to go to festivals, or just to have a nice cup of tea together. Of course, Hu Tao would often come along, before having to rush off due to last-minute business. Zhongli and (Y/N) had been through life and death together. He was their superior when it came to training, him being kind enough to show them the reins of becoming a god, and handling all the weird prayers that came in the form of voices in their head. It was overwhelming at first, but Morax helped them through it, and (Y/N) couldn't help but develop a sort of admiration for him. Eventually, (Y/N) started to tag along with him on his travels, and the two bonded. Though they were temporarily separated during the early days of the Archon War, (Y/N) didn't let that bother them, nor did they want to trouble themselves with the war, and for the duration of it, gathered civilians and humans to shelter them in homes that they had built themselves. This empathy and kindheartedness gave (Y/N) their title by the humans, 'The God of Affection', for the love they had shown the mortals. The two met again, later in the war. The humans that (Y/N) kept under their wing were set free to roam the lands after the war, though most of it was destroyed or new islands were formed, like Guyun Stone Forest, created as a result of Morax launching multiple giant stone structures at the God of the Vortex, Osial. It was considered a dangerous place to roam, considering an evil ancient god was right underneath it. Morax was glad that (Y/N) had survived the destruction, and introduced them to the new Archons, amongst them was Barbatos, the Anemo Archon. (Y/N) and Barbatos would be inseparable when they first met, given their shared love of romance and humanity. Unfortunately, he would go into a deep slumber, unaware when he would even wake up.
(Y/N) had become friends with Barbatos, not only because they had things in common, but because they wanted to become more independent, away from Morax. They loved him, and that was the issue. Morax saw them as nothing but a close friend. Even worse, during the Archon War, when they had finally reunited, Morax had also introduced (Y/N) to the Guili Assembly. Guizhong, Cloud Retainer, Mountain Carver. (Y/N)'s power was based off of love, but now it had broken their heart. In his eyes, there was Guizhong. Back then, there was no one in his eyes. The reflection in peoples' eyes only showed who someone loved romantically, without a doubt. But how could (Y/N) hate her? Guizhong was so kind, and even gave up her life for her people. The Guili Assembly mourned, while (Y/N) helped move her people south to avoid the massive flood that invaded right after. They would help preserve her legacy, and remembered her fondly to this day. Sometimes, they would also arrange performances telling about her adventures with other gods, (Y/N) was proud whenever they and the rest of the Guili Assembly were featured in the story.
Previously, (Y/N) didn't see the need to use their 'eye-peeking' power. However, they couldn't help themselves. Just once, they wanted to see their face in his eyes. Even the look of adoration that Zhongli looked at them with everyday wasn't enough. Every time they thought that they might have finally won his heart, his eyes would tell them otherwise.
It was selfish of them, they knew. But just once, they wanted to see themselves in his eyes. Just once.
Just once.
Just. Once. Those words echoed in their head, their heart pounding in their head, what just happened?
Oh no.
(Y/N) laid on the ground, weakly. The burning feeling across their torso starting to render in. It was so painful, like an inferno burning in their chest, probably because it was.
A pyro-axe mitachurl should've been easy for them to eliminate. It should've. So why? Why was the revered God of Affection laying on the ground, nearly cleaved in half?
"..(/N..."
"...(Y/).."
"...(Y/N)..!"
Something else started to fade into their head. This time, they forced themselves to weakly turn their head to the side. A man with a golden shield and a brown suit, their vision was blurring, but they could tell who it was. They always have. Bits of dialogue flew over (Y/N)'s head, but they felt Zhongl- No, Morax's arms lift them off the ground. Was he.. trying to take them to Baizhu? They looked up at the desperate man. He didn't look this bad in years. (Y/N), even with their limited vision and strength, reached out to touch Zhongli's cheek, the other leaning into the touch before trying to reassure them that they would be fine.
They had to be.
(Y/N)'s eyes grew a bright pink as they looked into Zhongli's eyes.
Just once.
And there she was. No, not (Y/N). Guizhong.
(Y/N) switched off their power, their eyes filling up with tears instead. They had no more energy, the pink fading out of their eyes. However, the God would notice something before their death.
In Zhongli's eyes, there was their reflection. It.. wasn't the truth, but perhaps this was close enough.
Finally, they may not have been the closest to his heart at the moment, but at last, he looked at them, and they looked back in the form of his golden irises.
A limp hand fell to their side, the God of Affection dying with a smile on their face.
Tis' but a shame, for the God of Affection loved him so much, but he would never know just how much they did.

fem zhongli in rut headcanons…
cw: dom fem zhongli, double cocks, breeding, egg laying/oviposition, minor lactation kink, slight slight yandere at the end, reader afab gn
fem zhongli with her two dragon cocks and heavy breasts bouncing as she rocks into you with no mercy. each hard thrust against your weak spot has you moaning and whining under her.
she tells you to start sucking on her breasts to get the milk out because it’s “dragon breeding season” and it’s uncomfortable to store the same milk inside her for longer than a few days.
during this “breeding season” she has the urge to fuck you until you can’t walk the next day. even if your legs weren’t numb from the night before, you’d be too heavy to get yourself out of bed; she filled you with a clutch of eggs that caused the skin of your stomach to distend. like you were really pregnant. of course, the eggs weren’t fertile, as ms. zhongli made sure to drink a certain adeptus concoction before the rut.
but the current zhongli’s mind was clouded, and she only knows to breed. you can still feel the loads of her cum sloshing inside you, prevented from leaking out of your hole courtesy of ms. zhongli’s custom geo plug.
you don’t know how much more you can take. you’re worn out. every other hour of the day, you’re bent over the kitchen counters, at the dining table, while you’re sat on her lap trying to do work.
and when its time to lay the eggs, she accompanies you to the bathtub, sitting you down on the cold ceramic. lovingly, she praises you while you manage to squeeze out egg after egg onto the towel under you. she holds your hand as she watches your pussy push and convulse around hard eggshells, cum and clear slick exiting alongside them. she watches your sweaty face, tears streaming down your flushed cheeks, and can’t wait to do it all over again.
maybe next cycle, she wouldn’t take the potion. maybe she would really get your pregnant. maybe you could have a real family. maybe she would lock you up deep in guyun stone forest so you couldn’t tempt any other creature. maybe you could become her own personal breeding toy, made for cum and babies.
