and im gonna add to this post mythborne because i love them silly guys

i find that in mythborne it shows liek themes of letting a love for something be corrupting (shown both by romeo and slightly ryan) yet a small kindness someone shows (or even tolerance i think with romeo) can help strength an friendship, that while love yes can show the worst parts unimaginable of you, it can also bring your best out, it just depends on if your willing to compromise with both sides(pluys we see multiple love spectrums with these guys! spoilers below because while ive tried to be vague theres no way to explaining this without spoiling sadly)

connor (brotherly love, platonic love, romantic love(?)): connor has the magical book which seems to have power over death right? well theres a special reason for that book, its because his brother (seemingly his only family) was in the hospital with a terminal illness, so he tried to find a way to have control over death, for him. he basically says "i love you so much, i will mess with natural forces, i could put my life on the line, i will alter whatever i need, all for the sake of curing you and keeping you alive." i say putting his life on the line because that book decayed part of a roof and while using that book during the falling scene something in him had fucking snapped morally. he literally could be morally destroying himself yet hes so invested in fighting for his brother.

on the topic of brothers, you CANNOT tell me connor wasnt atleast someone seeing ryan like a brother. even when ryan somewhat got possessed, even considering how ryan was friends with the guys whod make fun of him, even when ryan was "a liability" (words said by connor and aster), even when conner either had to punch ryan or do something dramatic so he decided to set a fire, they stuck together through it all. i still think about bizly saying "i turn around 'RYAN!' i hug him" because it means a bit more that hes in an insane state right now and set a fire just to not hit his friend.

and for the final kind, romantic love. now, i put the question mark because while bizly confirms connor liked aster and all that, they show a great sister brother relationship too. so ill be focuisng on their non-romantic first then what i think their romantic relationship entails/would have entailed. from what we know with aster, shes very out going on the inside, but shows a more calm and polite attitude (most likely for anxiety or pressures or smth like that) and we see how connor has something similar just more tired and they both become more wild with ryan and let loose whatever chaos they hide away. connor rpobably hides for his brother, but you cant tell me he not once looked in her eyes and thought "by nothing more then hwo i feel, we are connected, we are siblings, and you are all that i love." you cant convince me that if really the death book was damaging him, he only ever considered stopping because aster didnt want to lose the man she loved (again can be taken either way). because connor didnt need to help asters dad, but he did. he didnt have to go to the frat party for biwi, he didnt even have to stay there. yet, maybe it was just his care for his friends, or maybe he wanted to repay aster for getting the rats off him, something had him help them. theyre very much sibling coded and i love it anyways...romance time lmao.

it was confirmed that connor never actually told aster his feelings because he wasnt really all too well for it, and i find that to have a quite deep sense of care in it. maybe he did plan on telling her someday and never got to. maybe he wanted to not fuck it up becuase he cared for her that bad. and maybe he needed to hear how aster cared for him as well, and maybe she was ready for something like it whenever he was. the ideas of being as close as family slowly shifting into an idea of wanting this person to be your family, to grow with them, and maybe finding it wasnt just a sister he saw and a brother she saw but rather a deep love they didnt know how to catagorize. but what if he confessed to her? what if aster took connor out on a date to a float ball game? what if her dad helped her confess? what if connor grabbed her hand after class, and told her he liked her? what if connor read her his favorite books and aster read them too not just because they were interesting but as a way to understand this boy? theres just so much i can imagine with them, some ups and downs too. connor's brothers passing, causing him to go slightly down hill, how he tries to distance knowing its not good for him becuase he doesnt want to see aster sad by him yet she ends up being sad because it hurts how much he cared about his brother and wants to be there for him in this time. how maybe the gardening club and needing to care for biwi made her unable to spend enough time with connor when he needed. but in the end, they power through the hardships of the school and loss and find each other again. how connor admires that even after all hes done, aster still offers to be friends with romeo and doesnt try to fight him. how aster sees that connor immensely cares for his friends and goes along with what they do only and only for them. they continue adventuring together and even at their worsts they are wholey loved by the other. at their bests theyre loved so much by each other. either way, connor means so much to aster as she means to him, romantically and platonically.

aster (fatherly love, platonic love, romantic love(?)): ok finally we talk about aster and her father. its very obvious she loves him a lot despite all the times he embarrasses her. when he points her out in a crowd knowing how she doesnt want that kind of attention, she still loves him. when he does something silly for the attention and she gets second hand embarrassment, she still loves him. and when he puts his life on the line to save his students, not even letting his daughter convince him to run, she still loves him. and it works back to her too. when he gets a taste of his own medicine, he still loves her. whenever he knowing embarrasses her, he still loves her. when she goes wild and puts matters into her and her friends hands, he still loves her. nothing will change that, even when she starts rambling on about Ratnarok when their school mascot was never a rat.

platonically, she deeply cares for her friends like she cares for her dad. through everything, she loves them and they love her back. and she seems more free with them. when in the floatball stadium, she held back from screaming at ryan to play better. alone with them, shed try her best to whoop his ass just to show him. sure, she can be seen as the only sane one, but thats more like the least mentally ill person on tumblr, its not by much. shes wild, shes crazy, she uses alpha over animals with humans mostly and became an animorph once! and its because of her friends that she feels comfortable being expressed like that.

this one wont be long as i talked about it a bit with connors part, but she has much care towards connor and i can see her being immensely in love yet not feeling the need to say it then because theres already enough on his plate. to me, theyre characters that are "i can protect myself and you can protect yourself yet i will always try my best to protect you still because i love you and can." (also these dont exactly fit but it feels symbolistic because aster has powers of animals and plants and cares for those deeply, while connor is closely related to death with magic of that, like ying and yang type shit)

ryan (platonic love, love of the game): im doing the love of the game first because having a passion for something still counts as love because you probably love it to have a passion for it. ryan is very much so a jock and while he seems to not always be the smartest, hes very concentrated and dare i say calculated on the field in the area he thrives in. it makes sense he enjoys it, it connects him to both of his friend groups. as he and the j crew fight for the win together as a team, aster and connor watch from the side lines cheering him on the whole game.

speaking of his friend groups, it's slightly shown that his love for the j crew and his friends may be so different that ryan literally talks about how his coping of putting on a different personality infront of each is self destructive and i can quote from him "i dont know who i am actually". like i mentioned before, this is a kind of love that seems to corrupt him but its so internal and looks so innocent you never see it in the end. i just hope that idea goes away in the end, but since mythborne is over i only can headcanon it (getting WORSE /hj)

romeo (love of his craft): the main villain, the rat man, the fucking tree, i gotta mention him. his love for acting definitely was a corrupted one, as it lead him to fucking ratnarok so the floatball game would be cancelled and people would watch his play. however, we see it get changed somewhat. his corruption is also added in by the j-crew, who teased him for being a very drama kid, showing a lack of love for his work. however, when aster shows she cares for his art, he calms down and stops. because hes obviously not all that sane if his immediate response is "floatball game gets more attention then my play->motherfucking RATS" he didnt really need to do this but assumed thats how hed get the attention his craft wanted, and thats where the story means so much. how corrupted a love can be and if nobody is there to help it gets darker and darker, yet its never really a case of "harder to save" but more "seems to be harder to save".

one of my favorite worst things to Think About are the ways herb’s casually neglectful childhood sometimes just....surfaces in the every day world of his life now. and since his whole shtick is my childhood was perfect my father is basically god and i have absolutely no parent issues idk what ur talking abt, he winds up having to flail, having to learn on the way down, and try to keep up a cover that he knew all along. which, usually, doesn’t work, and just makes it all the more sad. here’s a few examples i’ve thought of because i don’t love myself:

someone around the station gets stuck with something metal and comments they might need a tetanus shot. herb was definitely never taken to the doctor’s for a checkup and regular vaccinations as a child, and since he works daytime hours lucille takes the kids while he’s at work, so he literally has never had a shot and he doesn’t fully understand what vaccines are, aside from cultural osmosis, so he asks in telling confusion, “what’s that supposed to mean?” @piper-aileen-lenox specifically, thnx for making me think of this and ruining my life xx

when herb and lucille moved in together (i imagine they were engaged but maybe not married just yet) lucille made it clear to her rather sexist fiance that she was expecting him to tow the line around the house just as much as her, which he agreed to, except when she asked him to do the grocery shopping thinking that was a harmless thing he could do (not like she’d trust him to actually get the dishes clean or fold her clothes so they don’t wrinkle). they almost never had food consistently in the house growing up and if they did eat full meals, they only had the food for THAT MEAL around because 1. herb sr. and ruby (herb’s parents) lived an erratic lifestyle of little to no money or a whole lot of money but only for a second because it was burning a hole in herb sr.’s pocket, and because 2. ruby quickly learned spending money on food ahead was pointless because either herb sr. hecked off somewhere w/o warning and it went bad, or his deadbeat friends hung around and ate it all, so she only bought for that day if they had the money for anything. but since no one was ever around to TEACH herb anything and he figured most things out on his own, herb doesn’t understand all this and he literally thinks you’re not supposed to by food until you run out or that you have to throw out whatever you have left at the end of the week because....... who knows ???? that’s just what he thought. it caused multiple arguments early into herb and lucille’s relationship before she figured it out and explained it to him because he didn’t know well enough to ask.

when herb and lucille’s first child, bunny, was born, he had to be shown how to hold a baby by the doctor. he had literally never held or even interacted with a baby before until that moment. he had no siblings (that he knew of), he had no friends as a child because if he wasn’t the bully he was the target and he was an ass just like dear old dad so no one liked him anyway, and he had 0 other family. lucille realized in that moment as she watched his palpable confusion when she extended their newborn child to him that he was going to have a lot of learning and growing to do. she hoped he was ready for it.

god that time there was a station fam barbecue early into herb’s wkrp career and someone, maybe mr. carlson, is like ‘WHO WANTS TO BE THE GRILL MASTER’ like its a big deal and everyone is like oh it has to be herb bc he’s the newest out of us and hes aware all the men see it as a status symbol and he CAN’T be less of a man than another man bc Ego (tm) so hes like of course im the grill master !!! and then panics for the next thirty minutes because he’s literally never even stood next to a grill let alone used one HOW DOES IT WORK the first fifteen minutes he doesnt even have the gas on rip

when herb was, like, 15, he taught himself how to drive a car because one of his “friends” (peers who was a bully that he called a friend and hung out with to stop also getting bullied but who was still bullying him anyway, herb was just brainwashed into thinking that’s what friendship is) wanted them to go out cruising and herb wanted to be a Cool Guy and not look like a chump so he lied and said he could drive. they got pulled over, because of course they did, and herb got in big trouble for you know, driving w/o a licences. the kicker though is that herb didn’t fucking know you can’t drive without a license or that licenses and road tests and drivers ed were even a THING because he literally raised himself and no one ever  t a u g h t   h i m   a n y t h i n g. anyways his dad got called home to deal with it from wherever he was away at at the time and he got in big trouble for interrupting dear old dad’s work anyways so :) what a healthy family

surprisingly, herb DID know how to cook the basics. grilled cheese, pasta, stir fries, a couple casseroles. lucille asked him about it because he was always such a Gender Roles (tm) type of man who wouldn’t even wear a brighter shade of red than like. maroon. in case it got loosely contaminated with the concept of the color pink and he’d have to change his name and move to alaska. so why was he doing a “ womans job “ (cooking) and herb just looked confused and said “what, guys don’t cook?” she told him that no, they usually didn’t and would have laughed at her if she tried to make them, and he laughed awkwardly and absently stirred the pot on the stove and shrugged in mild confusion. “that’s weird. if i didn’t cook i’d have... starved, i guess.”

the bad news is his cooking wasnt GREAT and lucille was happy to take over because again.........self taught. and he has one (1) brain cell so. not Great

LITERALLY DIDN’T KNOW ALL CLOTHES DON’T HAVE TO BE DRY CLEANED. his dad literally wore clothes that had to be dry cleaned Every Day (and we wonder why the tarlek family was short on the food budget god) (and they were ugly clothes too akdhfjfg) and ofc if ruby washed her clothes, it was while herb was at school. he dry cleaned so many clothes that do Not Make Sense to dry clean in college before he slowly figured that out.

did not know what an allowance was. bunny asked him for one and not willing to seem stupid to his swift daughter he told her to ‘ask her mother’, who thought it was hecking weird that her money obsessed husband would say that, so she asked him why and after several long minutes he just shrugged helplessly and said “what’s an allowance?”

don’t even get me started on herb and lucille planning their wedding ( ‘what kind of stuff should we put on the gift register?’ “put on the WHAT?”  ‘what are we going to put on top of the cake?’ “there’s gonna be CAKE?”  ‘i can’t wait for daddy to walk down the isle with me, it’ll mean a lot to him’ “your DAD is gonna walk you down the isle....?? but you’re marrying ME, right?”   ) also herb not knowing the wedding look of the bride is supposed to be a Secret and barging into the room w a question or smth while lucille and her bridesmaids are getting ready, and everyone is hella miffed and he’s like WHAT i’ve seen her naked before and theyre all like THATS NOT THE POINT HERB

herb did Not Know about seasonal allergies. he just........didn’t know. he just thought god hated him and every spring and fall his head sprung a leak. and the whole time he was growing up no one A. listened to him complain about them and put 2 and 2 together, nor B. just taught him about basic first aid stuff in general for that matter he doesnt know shit. anyways, then lucille was like why are you such a tough guy just stop complaining and take some medicine for your stupid allergies and he was like take some what for my what now

ANYWAYS herb’s mom left while he was v young and he doesn’t remember much about her. herb’s dad was literally   n e v e r   home. the people herb’s dad left him with would work for obscenely low amounts of pay or owed herb sr. money and largely used all the money for their own food, drugs, alcohol, or other more unsightly business, and left herb alone to fend for himself. this is the disaster human that that produced, thanks, family dynamics! don’t abandon your children, kids, thanks for coming to my ted talk

This is for @typewriterthepasta who requested an Angsty Stanlon fic a while ago and I never wrote it because I never saw the message.I’m so sorry and I hope you enjoy this blurb that was more like a stream of consciousness– :)

__ It was deep. Their love was deep, at least thats what Mike had thought.

He had thought he meant so much more to Stan than what he actually had. He couldn’t believe the Stan was gone and that Stan left him. The days of cuddling on the couch, messily entangled with each other. The days of tears and joy and laughter all gone. And for what? A damn job opportunity, the approval of his parents that was barely even there and loosing whatever they had.

It wasn’t a big deal,, mike told himself. There would be other people. He would meet other people. He would marry a nice person and have kids and have lots of animals and everything would be fine. He sucked in a deep breath of air, closing his eyes and pressing his face gingerly into his pillow.

Stan had moved to Georgia. He had chosen his money and his future over him. He just couldn’t accept that. Yes, Stan had wanted to leave Derry, hell Mike did too, but he would never leave Stan. Stan did exactly what they promised not to do.

He understood Stan had been depressed. That he slipped into these phases where he wouldn’t eat, he wouldn’t get out of bed and he would just stare lifelessly at a wall. Mike hated seeing him like that. Mike realized that maybe Stan leaving was a good thing. So he supported it. He never thought, for a second, that they would break up over something as basic as a new job and Stans parents. Mike had been more than willing to go with Stan. To leave Derry, to find a job in Georgia and they could live together and be happy. But life was not that simple.

His cell phone rang.

It would have been a normal shrill ring to anyone else, but to Mike it pierced his ears and gave him a pounding headache. He reminded himself to take aspirin later.

He saw that it was from an unknown number. He never answered those. If it was important, the caller would leave him a message. They usually never do.

He was surprised when he saw that they had actually left a message and he made a mental note-along with taking the aspirin- to listen to it and call them back later. Right now, he knew he had to get up and make something for himself to eat. Otherwise he wouldn’t feel like it later and he knew he knew he would never do it if it wasn’t done now.

He missed cooking. He never cooked too much anymore- it reminded him of Stan. He usually made nothing more than a small peanut butter and jelly sandwich and even then he knew that he wouldn’t finish it.

He cooked himself some pasta, not bothering to add salt or anything that would give the bland dish any flavor. Has grabbed a stale piece of wheat bread and began to munch on that. He never went grocery shopping anymore. Stan loved to grocery shop.

Mike mentally kicked himself- it wasn’t like Stan was dead. In all honestly, he could’ve just called the other boy. He knew that Stan wouldn’t pick up, but he had so much to say. He wanted to apologize and to let Stan know that he still loved him. He let out a dejected sigh as he swallowed the rock hard bread.

Eventually he got dressed for bed, taking a quick bath and proceeding to stare at himself in the mirror. Not because he enjoyed looking at himself or because he liked what he was looking at- but he hated how all the happiness had drained from his eyes. He hated how his face had almost permanent frown lines. He wanted Stan back.

He splashed water on his face and dried it with his yellow washcloth. That was Stans favorite color.

He slipped into his bed, grimacing at how cold it was, how lonely it felt. He should be used to this. This was how it had been for three months.

He picked up his phone and contemplated opening the voice mail. He did. It was only ten seconds long, but he didn’t realize how much those ten seconds would alter his life. Alter him. He sat up and pressed his device to his ear, turning up the volume so that he could hear.

“Mike. Um Hi,” Mikes breath caught in his chest. It was Stan. “He scrambled out of bed and turned the volume up louder. “So… um… I just wanted to say I’m sorry. I’m shit at this stuff. I was always shit at this stuff. But just wanted to call you and tell you goodbye.”  Fuck. That took an unexpected turn. So Stan was really breaking up with him. “And tell all the Losers goodbye. I have a feeling that I won’t be hearing from you guys in a long time.”

Suddenly Mike heard bathwater running over the phone. His heart sank. What was Stan doing? Surely he wasn’t trying to kill himself.

“Good bye Mike. I’ll always love you. Please remember me when I am gone,” Mike stared blankly at his phone. No. There was no way Stanley was about to kill himself. No that was crazy. “Hello?” Her voice was hollow.

stating if I don’t want to follow the system I can leave he then takes my entire duffel dumps it onto the floor and then rebags it into victoria secret bags then moves it to the front counter so it can be rang in I thought this was a little odd but hey he was doing all the work rebagging it so whatever i’m like dude i’m going to be spending about 8k today all I want to do is come in spend some money get out without any drama what’s the problem whoevers in charge should be thrilled with a sale like this we’re spending 8k keep in mind that I told him that I would do what he wanted and it wasnt’ a big deal and the response was to the effect of stop being lippy and just listen I told him what do you want from me I just agreed with you and said I would use your bags i’m not being lippy deal to me right wrong again he cited some policy and said if the order is more than 750 items that they aren’t allowed to ring in under 750 items on any one receipt id like to point out that that amount is higher than your employees said they could take as a cash payment I asked him to please show me that I would understand better if I could just read it he was willing to do so he brought out the policy book and to my surprise what it actually said was words to the afffect of cash payments cannot be split up or over 750 items I forget the second half my immediate reply was so what’s the big deal im using credit not cash he snatched the policy book away from me at that point and said you know what you can just listen to me or I don’t have to let you buy anything it’s up to my discretion I then called your orlando outlet and your new jersey outlet and talked to the store managers and cited your policy I was given I asked them to confirm if that was accurate and both said if it was a policy it was news to them I then asked if they would let me buy my order using 4 cards and 4 receipts the woman at orlando said oh my gosh yes we do that every single day I asked if I went to her store if I would have any trouble with this in the future and was told no then she said you can always come down here if you’re in the area and i’ll be happy to take your order after that phone call I tried again here’s the video of that attempt I said listen I have 4 credit cards your register girl said you told her she can’t ring up an order under 750 items that’s 3500 if it’s 5 items not all of my cards have that much I have done multiple receipts every time I came here heck I can even supply them to show it he tells me that because I am order so many items that I can’t have less tan 750 items per receipt so I point around to everyone else and ask what about everyone else you aren’t forcing them to spend a minimum of 750 items what about the final charge i’ll have 750 items for two tickets but the leftover isn’t going to be 750 items you’re not going to let me buy them he shrugged his shoulders to say no at this point I haven’t yelled ive been a bit snarky and sarcastic because I know he’s just giving me a hard time two people ring in our order almost every time I am up there and we were there 3 times in the last 6 months spent a bunch each time so at 730 8pm or so we are done shopping assuming that two people could ring us up ended up being a fantasy he forced one employee only to ring us up later on he comes up when its now close to 9pm and says hey you mind if we ring you up on both registers I chuckle and say no I don’t but you do you don’t want to be breaking that 750 rule do you he glared at me and then sent the employee away and walked off after blinking a few times I laugh because after telling me over and over he couldn’t do it he just got caught trying to do what should have been done to begin with a short while later after 9 I find out that everyone is standing uip front except for the one girl and another associate because none of the rest of them are allowed to help her ring us up the only two people left in the store with about 700 more items to be rang in if that’s not enough since it was a holidy all of these employees are apparently being paid overtime to stand around and wait at a bit after 10 all but two girls leave and one girl is waiting to count cash while the other girl sits and keeps ringing stuff in we apologize profusely we expected two employees to ring us up like always and timed our visit to be out around 9 if this had happened instead of having one literally stand there and watch her for 1 hour and 47 minutes after close we would have all been out on time and no overtime or extra hours spent so finally at 10 47 pm our orders are done we thank the lovely girl lauren and jasmine who got stuck staying 2 hours past close because a manager made up some random policy and had to double down when I pointed out he really needed to follow that 750 rule when he was going to toss another girl on the register if this is policy fine it doesn’t seem to be no manager at your other outlets knew what he was talking about the orlando one insisted that the only restrictions are on cash payments and verified I was paying cash or credit it’s a pretty humiliating experience to get hassled trying to buy panties and bras by someone who’s on some type of power trip the only thing I said sideways to him was that I flat out didn’t believe his policy and that credit absolutely is not the same as cash I didnt call him any names scream at him or did anything to disrupt the store beyond what you see in the videos if this is not policy i’d like an apology from that manager in person or over the phone admitting he was mistaken I would hope that the next time I go there I am not hassled but if not I guess there’s always orlando or new jersey who seem to be quite friendly I also want to give recognition to jasmine and lauren lauren is the poor soul who got stuck ringing everything in alone because of the manager’s silly rule and not allowing anyone to help because it would be in violation of the 750 item rule jasmine was the cash counter who had to wait until we were out of the store to count cash even more interesting is that I had a former employee with me helping me buy and she said she never heard of this policy either but it doesn’t mean it wasn’t added since she left she was just as confused because the manager spent over 30 minutes trying to explain and defend this when that time certainly would have been more efficiently spent doing productive things instead of hassling someone who literally sits in a corner and speaks to no one while sorting through your products one bin at a time id love a call back about this or to find out what exactly is going on ive never been hassled like this before and it was a little frustrating and very trying to keep my cool joe Oncologist! Jihoon

Is amazing at his job

He’s known as a hard ass to work with but everyone looks up to him

Is an amazing surgeon

All the interns had a love hate relationship with them

He was super strict but was considered on of the top oncologists in the country so it was an honour to work with him

If they ever brought up or made fun of his height he would make their rotation with him a living hell

He knew he was short, he didn’t need reminding. But if you really wanna make fun of the guy who is one the best oncologists in Korea maybe even the world you kinda deserve it

Workaholic to the max

It was once rumored that he sold his apartment and just lived in the on-call room

Seriously, it’s live he never left though

Was an adult oncologist but because of his reputation and notoriety in the field was often asked to treat kids

He had no pediatric training and was not the best with kids

I mean hell he wasnt even great with the interns and they were all adults

Normally he would refuse to treat them but he had one case that he couldn’t say no too

A little girl had a rare form of cancer and every doctor had refused to treat her so her parents flew her to South Korea in hopes that Jihoon would treat her

She had heart cancer

Cases of heart tumors weren’t uncommon, but cancerous tumors especially in young children were. The sweet little girl had two large cardiac fibromas that were about four inches (ten cm) in diameter that would require surgery and then intensive chemo and radiation after

That’s when you came into the picture

You were a pediatric cardiac surgeon in the same hospital as him

You were both well known in your fields so you knew of each other but other than that you had never worked together

Normally, he would refuse young children, but he couldn’t refuse this littles girls case. He had treated and worked with another cardiac surgeon and successfully treated a man before without a heart transplant. Which probably why this girls parents flew all the way to South Korea for treatment

He asked his office staff if there was anyway he would be able to get a pediatric to help him with this case

His staff was even shocked he took on the case in the first place

They tell him your credentials and he asks them to give him your email so that's what they do

He writes a super long email explaining the cases, then asking if you would be willing to help him with it

When you got his email, you were over the moon. You had always admired his skill so know you would be able to work with him on case? You were happy to say the least

You happily emailed back agreeing to work with him and you both set up a time to meet up and discuss the case in person

About two days before the first appointment with the little girl you met up for coffee

The little girl's name was Anna and you talked about the types of tumors she had and the course of action you had to take

It was decided that she needed surgery as soon as possible, the rate of her survival was decreasing the long the surgery was put out

The rate of her surviving cancer without surgery was non existent, the rate of her surviving with surgery went up to 25% and with chemo about 35%

You had warned Jihoon that these tumours are aggressive and will most likely come back, a heart transplant is something they would probably want to discuss

On the day of the appointment you two both clear out your schedules to allow for as much time as necessary with Anna and her parents and then to start planning surgery and getting everyone else you needed together

You talk to Anna and her family through a translator for almost three hours bc Anna was from Russia

The family agrees to the surgery and Anna is placed in inpatient on the heart ward for constant monitoring

The surgery is 3 days away

You and Jihoon work very closely to make sure everything gets done for Anna and her family

You and Ji barely sleep for those three days, you sleep at the hospital in the on-call room never far from each other

You got anesthesiologist Wonwoo to do well, the anesthesia, and then had Paediatrician Soonyoung do some final checks on her before her surgery

Little Anna was cleared by Soonyoung so the surgery was all clear and proceed

When you two were working so close together Jihoon started finding himself drawn to you in ways he couldnt explain

When you were focusing on writing notes your tongue poked out a little

When you had to call anyone on the phone you would always fiddle with a pencil or pen

When you got stressed you ran your hands through your hair and then pulled it back into a loose bun

The bags under your eyes after you only got 2 hours of sleep

How excited you were when he brewed a fresh pot of coffee

He had never been so attracted to someone

He was always so focused on work, but being forced to work with such a smart (beautiful) and talented doctor made him feel weird inside

The only women Jihoon interacted with were patients and nurses

He was never close with them, he never had to spend such intimate time with someone with someone like you

The night before the surgery you and Jihoon, again, slept in the on-call room as Anna’s surgery was at 6am

Both of you went to bed at 8pm and passed out due to not sleeping a terrible amount on the previous nights

The alarm was set for 3am to make sure you were both awake, had coffee, and got in scrubs by 4am so you could meet up with the team

The surgery would be primarily performed by you with assistance from Jihoon

His knowledge of tumors and your knowledge of paediatric heart surgery would be a perfect match for giving Anna the best chance she had for survival

All the tools were gathered together everyone was getting ready for this surgery

Wonwoo went out and started her IV line and the you and Jihoon followed, discussing with her parents all the possible complications from this surgery

Once you two were done you knelt down by Anna’s bed and started singing a little song for her in Russian

This small gesture made Jihoon’s heart melt

These feeling Jihoon didn’t like were in a full blown swing

He doesn’t know what to do

But he shoves his feelings towards you to the back of his head and focuses on Anna

You, Jihoon, Wonwoo and other nurses wheel little Anna away to the operating room

Wonwoo and Jihoon pick up the fragile girl and lay her on the table

After that Wonwoo tells the little girl he’ll help her go to sleep and then puts the anesthetic mask over her to make her sleep, then gives her oxygen to help

The surgery starts at 6:30am and you and Jihoon were on a mission to save this little girls life

The surgery finally finished at 4pm but the surgery went amazingly

You had removed the two fibromas. One was in her right ventricle and the other was in the ventricular septum  which was preventing her heart from being able to beat properly

With help from Jihoon, there was no complications and little Anna was in the recovery room

Jihoon had to keep surprising his feelings for you the whole surgery

He was focused on getting Anna better

But he was also way to focused on how pretty you were and how talented and skilled you were at your job

After the surgery you broke the good news of Anna's surgery and led them back to where she was

After leading Anna's nervous parents back to her

You discussed and informed her parents that the likelihood of her tumors coming back was high so you recommended getting her on the on the transplant list

They agreed and signed everything to get the young fragile Anna on the list

You and Jihoon dismissed yourself and went to the on-call room and showered (in separate showers get your mind out of the gutter)

You two were exhausted, but knew you still had to plan

After you got out of the shower you were just in a large shirt and athletic shorts with your hair dripping wet

He thought you looked stunning, he couldn’t believe his eyes

He must have been staring a little too long

“Yah. Jihoon. Do i have something on my face?”

You laughed, but Jihoon went as red as a tomatmo

“Jihoonie, are you okay? Your face is really red.”

You kneel beside him and put your hand on his forehead. “Jihoon. You should lay down.”

This only made Jihoon more embarrassed, “y/n. I’m okay.”

You giggled “Jihoonie, your red face says otherwise.”

“I’m blushing y/n!”

“Jihoonie why would you be blushing, it’s just me!”

“That’s the problem! It’s because it’s you damn it.”

“Wait you like me?”

“I THOUGHT THIS WAS OBVIOUS NOW!”

“Good. Because i like you too. Now come here and kiss me.”

So Jihoon did just that

You two slept in each others arms that night in the on-call room

Wonwoo was on call for the normal doctor he worked with and found you guys cuddling

Took a photo now everyone in the hospital knows about your relationship

The next morning you woke up before jihoon and you wanted another mri of Anna’s chest

When you got to the nurses station they were all whispering about something. You just ignored it and put in the request for Anna to get another MRI

Until when you were about to leave a nurse came up to you

“Y/n. Why didn’t you tell us you were dating Jihoon?”

I think the puzzled look on your face said everything for them

They laughed and allowed for you to go back the on call room to make sure Jihoon was up and so that you two could start planning Anna’s chemo treatment

Jihoon was awake and making a fresh pot of coffee

“Jihoonie?”

“Y/n.”

“There’s a rumor that we’re dating. The nurses just asked me when i went to fill out a request for Anna. Jihoonie. What are we?”

“I guess we’re a couple. I mean we both like each other. Why not?”

That was the most it ever got. You two were happy and that’s all that mattered to you guys.

You guys plan Anna’s chemo and radiation, but still keep in mind she might need a heart transplant due to the severity of her tumors and she had a high risk of them coming back

Jihoon went down to see Anna because she was starting a new round of stronger chemo meds

Normally Jihoon will just rely on the nurses or you to talk to little kids, but surprisingly he went down by himself to see Anna

He got the Russian to Korean translator and starting telling Anna somethings

When Anna found out you and Jihoon were a couple she was very excited

“My two favourite doctors are boyfriend and girlfriend!”

Three months after Anna’s surgery you did a routine MRI and saw lumps again

You were crushed, you knew they would probably come back, but not this soon

You showed Jihoon the lumps in her heart coming back

He was just as upset as you

You two had poured your heart and soul into helping this girl along with caring for your regular patients

Anna was still living at the hospital because she was so fragile and you weren’t sure how long it would take before her tumors came back

She was on the transplant list but you were unsure of how long it would be in order to get Anna a new heart

You knew if she didn’t get a new heart she wouldn’t live out the year

Unsure of what to do for the sweet girl, you burst out into tears

Jihoon took you into his arms, rubbed your back, and let you cry everything out on his shoulder

Losing patients was nothing new to either of you, but this little girl brought you together and was an incredible fighter

When you first saw her MRI you were surprised she was even alive

Even after surgery and Jihoon’s radiation and chemo, they still came back

You had to break the news to Anna’s parents, so the day after you found the tumors you and Jihoon took Anna’s parents aside and broke the news to them

They both started crying and begged you and Jihoon to take care of their precious little Anna

After that you and Jihoon went and told Anna, she didn’t seem to phased by it

“They’re back? Oh. Does that mean I get a new heart?”

“Yes sweetie. Me and Dr. Jihoon will find you a new heart.”

She was so happy. Suddenly Anna looked at Jihoon and her translator. She whispered something to her translator who then whispered something to him

Jihoon’s eyes went big

“Anna told me that she knows she might not live too much longer. But she wants to see us get married.”

If you had water you would’ve choked on it

Anna says something to her translator, “She said she wants to marry you two.”

So if Anna wants to marry you guys, Anna will marry you guys

Although you two had only been together for roughly three months it’s like you had known each other for years

Marriage wasn’t something you talked about

While your team was looking to find Anna a new heart and checking everything every thirty minutes to see if a new heart was a match for her

You and Anna (along with her translator) went to the streets of Seoul and she wanted to pick out a wedding dress for you, it’s like Anna loved you and Jihoon so much as her doctors she liked the fact you were actually in love

You go into a bridal store and are greeted by a cheerful woman, “Hi my name Jimin! When’s the wedding?”

“As soon as possible.”

Poor Jimin didn’t understand.

You told her you would explain everything after you got seated

So when she sat down Anna her translator and yourself she was quite interested

When you told her about Anna’s story and how she was basically not going to make it if she didn’t get a heart transplant. So one of Anna’s wishes was to marry you and your boyfriend. Who happened to be the other doctor looking after her

Jimin started crying after you told her. So she told Anna’s translator that she could help pick out all the dresses you were trying on

Anna picked out big poofy ball gowns and if that’s what Anna wanted, that’s what you would wear

After about 5 ball gowns Anna finally decided on one dress she liked

It was an A line white dress, with a lace top and some bling

Luckily it was a sample so you were able to take it home with you that day

It was $2000 but it was worth every penny

After that, you went back to the hospital

Your team still couldn’t find a new heart for Anna

After her trip out, you could tell Anna condition was getting worse

You feared she might not live another week, maybe month if she was lucky

So, you rushed the photographer and Jihoon rented a tux

Anna picked out two sterling silver bands as rings

So that morning you and Anna got up and started getting ready. You did your hair and makeup and then did Anna’s hair and then put on a little bit of lipstick, drew on her eyebrows eyeshadow, and mascara

The head of the company, Wonwoo, Anna’s parents, and half of your team and half of Jihoons team was there

Anna stood up at the podium, her long brown wig was curled and Jihoon was on her left side in a tux

“Dr. Jihoon. Are you ready to see your pretty wife?” She said with big cute doe eyes

“Of course Anna.” He smiled sweetly

Instead of your father giving you “away” to Jihoon it was your mentor

The doors opened and you saw Jihoon.

Even though this was just for Anna he felt like it was his actual wedding day seeing his soon to be wife in her dress for the first time

You walked up the small isle and Anna “wed” you two

She gave you both a silver ring which you both put on your pinky finger

Little Anna was so proud of herself

After the “wedding” and you had gotten out of the dress, Jihoon out of his tux, and Anna was back in her room you two visited her

You could tell how bad she was. Anna looked incredibly weak. You knew she wasn’t going to make it

A week had gone by since the “wedding” and Anna’s condition has been getting worse

Neither you or Jihoon have left the hospital since the “wedding” night

Too afraid that you would get a call she flat lined in the middle of the night and neither of you would be there for her

It had been a week and half

You were in surgery for another patient and got a paged a code blue

You knew it was for Anna, but alas you were in surgery and unable to do anything

guys dont sleep on Girls Trip

so i havent seen a lot of hype about the movie girls trip that came out recently but i just saw it today and let me tell you (i give a warning before every spoiler)

1) talk about black female representation. the movie is set at Essence Festival (a festival that was started to celebrate the 25th anniversery of Essence magizine which focuses on black women) in New Orleans and besides the incredible leading cast members, ALL of the extras that you see have natural hair, braids, wigs, weaves, extensions, long, short, multicolour, and theyre also all sorts of body types. and then the leading cast members are all so incredible.

2) the humor is actually honest good humor. its not objectifying, obscene, or offensive. they dont use degrading humor. they didnt cast comedians, they cast actresses who know how to make a role funny without removing the real, human side of the character. like dont get me wrong there were dick jokes and pussy jokes etc but that wasnt the point. the point was the characters and they also happened to be funny

3) this movie has such a strong message for people in relationships. (this part will include spoilers) Ryan says in her speech at the end that she was so afraid of being on her own, of leaving her “perfect relationship” that she was willing to stay in it even though her husband was cheating on her. but she realized that that was only hurting her and bringing her down and holding her back. and when she made the speech, she thought she was going to be loosing a giant deal but she did it anyways. she realized that her own worth is much higher than that of a partner that does not respect and love her and it paid off in the end (she got the deal anyways). women all over the world or every age and ethnicity need to hear that and need to see that. you need to value yourself and accept nothing less.

4) (spoilers) julien. wow. okay so this man recognized the advances ryan was making towards him, especially when she was intoxicated, and he did not take advantage of her. and it wasnt because he was afraid of stewart, or because he had another girl, or anything like that. it was because he respected ryan and he knew that if she wasnt hurting so much (or drunk), she wouldnt be doing that. so he said no. but he stayed her friend and in the end it shows that they continue as a couple and that leads to point five

5) the movie was not about the relationships or the love. it was about discovering self worth and recognizing the value of true friends.  (spoiler) the character Ryan got overwhelmed at one point and she stepped aside and told herself “I am strong. I am powerful. I am beautiful.” and i personally think that it’s important they put that in there because it is important for women to understand that about themselves. and then also even after the girls had a big fight with each other, they all came back together because they know that they love each other as friends and they didnt want to loose that friendship.

i have more points but i cant really think of them at the moment but please go see this movie i hope that it gets the recognition it deserves because yes, it is a comedy, but it is such a good movie with a powerful message feel free to add on

what does this say about his being and who he aspires to be? whatever and whoever this is, is positive and filled with glowing intentions

modern sun. a being who is young and in the current moment..lets face it were always young and time is nonexistent to me--still debating it though bc is anything ever truly nonexistent? anyway, i see an old soul and old friend through this. i am a child of everything. i find myself in everyone and find everyone in myself.

although i lean towards helping people in negative situations, my favorite are those who conquer and turn hardships into productivity. even people who have not had the same hardships as myself, or maybe less in general, and always remain so upbeat BLOW me out of the water. I aspire to be like them in that sense. through this ive made friends of all kinds.. one was a boy in high school who i became rather close with. I was an “outcast” and he played all sports possible which he somehow always succeeded in. He was widely known and was known usually for coming across as an asshole, and oh man, sometimes, he really was. We clashed heads and opinions lots, but our good times outweighed any disagreement by a landslide.

i remember the first time i saw him. i had my usual resting bitch face on and he looked at me, and i glared at him. he smiled and laughed and said “cheer up, buttercup!” and i responded with “dont tell me what to do”

he looked at me a little weird but throughout time we had classes together and passed each other in the hallways. he always took the time to say hello in an excited and energetic manner. 

it threw me off, but i was curious. i sat with him one day in class and complimented something that i cannot remember. friendship was not immediate, but hugs started becoming a once in a while thing, and by the time i hit senior year, they were daily. 

senior year gym class we had all year together. one day he forgot his clothes and i was like MAAAN WHAT THE FUCK WHO AM I GONNA TALK TO? um the answer was other people because i enjoyed everyone but he was my fave along with a girl from another class of mine

he didn’t react right away and shrugged and walked away. this was SO not like him so i gave him space, told him i was here when he was ready, and would observe him silently. being a wallflower is beautiful.

the next day we saw each other in gym and i offered a hug. i told him that one of the things i appreciated most about him was his energy and that although i understood he couldnt always have it, i missed it. he smiled and sighed and we sat down on a bench and was like “can i talk to you?” my face must have lit up and i was like “yes but quick run into the locker room and change back into normal clothes before the doors lock.” he was like uh, okay, but why? that kills your grade and youre a fucking bitch about getting grades

i laughed so hard and was like “because silly, if were gonna talk were gonna do it right. ill sacrifice my grade for you to feel like someone has their full attention on you.”

we both bolted and came back out. it was the first time we had more than 30 mins max to talk and have a full convo. through that convo, i realized he didnt have as much as i had preconceived him to. i realized that he hurt, his life wasn’t perfect. although he was talented he felt lonely and felt as if no one understood him. we spent our time sitting side by side outside and looking around, and planned a day together at our school’s ropes course. 

a few weeks later he “forgot” his clothes and asked me to “forget” mine. we went up to the ropes course that day with the class, but sat aside to talk. we laughed so hard we were in tears, everyone was looking at us oddly but we had not a care in the world.

later on we would revist that course together and jumped around and moved through it. i was not as agile as he, but i admired how he could do these things almost effortlessly...even though the course creaked and squeaked and felt like it could be a death trap. i also admired how he laughed at my failure and made rude jokes but would immediately come over to pick me up off the ground and then say “watch me” ..through trial and error i became slightly better and enjoyed that i was doing it more. i was less embarassed, more willing to do it without hesitation.

through this we bonded mentally and physically. i trusted him more. id let him pick me up during hugs which i NEVER did. we gave each other piggy back rides randomly because we felt like it. the image is funny..a “scene” kid with a face that was mainly stone and intimidating at first...on the back of a jock. i was always smiling in some way. whether he was running to give me a scare and i was screaming at him, or whether we did it with leisure, we were always smiling. sometimes hed carry me or my books while telling me about his life and deciding on whether or not he just wanted me to listen or offer advice as well.

we were always a funny image. two seemingly opposites who always found a way to attract. he started borrowing things from me, band shirts, brass knuckle necklaces. he told me how pretty i looked in more feminine clothes. we both loved who were were at heart, but enjoyed seeing the other one take on something more similar to the other person, even if it wasnt comfortable at first. 

we had an affectionate friendship, but at the same time, always kept our distances. we had interests in each other that allowed us to be fascinated with each other together and apart. we never went beyond a hug for three years i believe. i went my way, he went his. but if we came back in sight, we acknowledged each other. we talked outside of school here and there, but rarely ever hung out. 

through a gym conversation with him, he told me that sometimes he would go home and look up words in the dictionary to try to learn them so that he could come in to school and impress me. he told me that he felt intimidated by the flow of my words even though they always had a way to do whatever i wanted them to. he said i made him feel dumb. WHYYY the fuuuuck would he feel like this? just because i was a decent student didn’t mean that I couldnt enjoy someone who didn’t excell as much in something as i did. I brought my hands over my face and said through them something along the lines of “duuuude what the FUCK” and i removed my hands and said “i am so sorry, that is never my intention. you did not have to do that bc i love you for who you are and who you truly aspire to be” 

that was the first time i said i loved him where i could feel it. worlds collided and somehow meshed together. i realized that even intelligence and stupidity could find common grounds. and through that, he has taught me much. i am forever grateful for him and will carry him in life with me. 

of course he picked up on “i love you” and my immediate face of realization and shock afterwards. he smiled and questioned it as if he needed the extra reassurance. i made a face and he said “cheer up buttercup” i smiled, he hugged me, and we split our ways to enjoy our other friends in the class. 

although we both thought we were attractive, we did not go beyond that for three years. sometimes hed smack my ass but id turn right around and hit him back. cant tell you how many times in sports he would do something a little harder than i could handle. sometimes things would fly at me and hit me and hurt so bad that id turn around and immediately be red. this happened so often that I would drop whatever i was doing and walk at him and jump at him. id bring him to the ground sometimes. although i never seriously hurt this person physically, I learned how to approach him in a way that he understood not to fuck with me. and i knew that his intentions were never bad. the tennis balls that hit me so hard it left bruises, to the little things hed throw at me to get my attention, we grew. i took a class with him and another boy one time. this other boy spiked a volleyball to the head so hard that it knocked my friend out. i was red in the face immediately but held back my anger because my mothering instincts kicked in full swing. i helped him up, took him to the nurse, and talked to him after he had time to rest. a few days later, that same boy did the same thing to me. but it was different this time. it hit my face so hard (i was turned to the side and not paying attention, so my b i guess) that the whole class turned to look. i was extremely anxious with the attention on me. plus it looked like i was crying but really i was just trying to rub the sting off my face lol. but the boy did something he didnt do to my friend the other day, he laughed. my friend was immediately like man WHAT the fuck come on. he came to my side but by that time it was too late. the girl who was mainly quiet and to herself...5′2 walked up to one of the tallest and well known guys of our graduating class...and she let loose. I had a method in my anger, and when he laughed it off, i walked away. my words were out. what was said was over and done. what he took of it was on him and i knew i did what i could. much to my surprise that night the boy messaged me over facebook and apologized to me. he said he reflected on what i said. the next day in gym i approached him calmly with a small smile and told him that i appreaciated his words and that as long as he was not rude, we had no beef between us. he dated people i knew. i dated people he knew. we dated strangers to one or both of us. but we were always super protective over each other. what hurt him, hurt me. what hurt me, hurt him. 

i will never forget our first kiss and how incredibly awkward it was for both of us. it was worth the shot, but we felt nothing that lit a romantic fire. we trialed it twice, but acknowledged it didn’t come naturally to us. and that was okay. if it was meant to be, it would be. 

i will never forget graduation. i dressed up and looked very feminine. but at the same time, i was in all black and carried my unique style with me as well. we bumped into each other and both looked up and down. i realized how manly he looked and how proud i was of him and how excited i was to hear of his future trials, tribulations, and triumphs. we wished each other well on our way, and that was the last time i saw him until a year later.

a year after graduation we got into a convo. we talked about everything and planned a visit although he moved further away. one night he came to me crying and told me that he missed me so much and felt so lost again. told me that he missed high school because the highlight of his day was always seeing me. i could get him like no other no matter what without a single pass of judgement. that i was the only person he could think of that could do that.

although this is quite a compliment, i took it humbly. he was hysterical, it was late and my car wasn’t great. i asked for his address and told him to expect me within an hour and a half. i told my parents i was going to a girlfriend’s house and left.

When i pulled up to his place he was sitting in the rain on a rail outside. as soon as he saw my headlights he walked over and pulled me out of the car and hugged me and swallowed hard and deep and sighed. of course, we let go and he snapped at me BITCH YOUVE BEEN GONE FOR TOO LONG...now lemme help you park your car its tricky here.

We went inside, he gave me a tour. We talked with his mom and brother and then went out back to sit on the porch. We caught up little by little, but talked mainly about what bothered us most. We smoked a little weed, made some food, went inside, i helped him clean, i watched him play videogames bc hes a huge nerd but its cute when someone is passionate about something that does no harm, so whatever. but as i started drifting off, he told me that i could take the bed and that he wasn’t sleeping for quite some time. the last thing i remember before falling asleep was warm lips on my forehead and the feel of a fan on me since he had no ac and the humidity and heat made us uncomfortable. 

i woke up that morning to make the drive home so i wouldnt be home too late. when i opened my eyes i realized he was passing out next to me and had put up a pillow wall between us and grabbed extra blankets so we could each have our own just in case. he looked over and i had a look on my face that he knew well. he chuckled and said “the truth? i wanted to be close to you without weirding you out or making you uncomfortable. i kept an eye on you while you slept. sometimes you shivered, so i grabbed blankets. sometimes you made a troubled face so id put my hand back and reach for your arm...ALSO WHEN THE FUCK DID YOU GET AN ARM TATT?!” 

I got up and told him to get comfortable but told him we could talk later, but that I was going to stay with him until he fell asleep. I changed my clothes, went to the bathroom, but always peeked back in. it wasn’t long before he was asleep. i wish i would have said something like “see you later, friend” instead of “bye”

he sleepily told me to text him when i got home so he knew i was safe. and like that, he was out.

we did talk later. but that was the last time that we had a hangout without troubles or worries...with our phones aside, where we were more free and less shackled. its been months. i miss my friend, but i will carry him with me forever. i trust in the fact that what will be, will be. i can miss him but acknowledge now is not the moment to be close. so i often follow thoughts such as “i miss my friend” with thoughts that are confident and true..such as “but he is strong and we have a bond that is unlike any other, we will come around” i say we because relationships are group efforts as much as your own. i believe that everything should aim to be 50/50. we will come around. we both have things in our life that made this moment less possible currently. but we will grow. we will learn. and one day, we will reconnect again in some way, shape, or form.

it was while listening to a mod sun playlist where i realized i could relate a song to several situations, and several situations to EVERY song. thank you my dear!:)

Why isn't he looking? The man there in the very back of this dingy little tavern with his nose in that massive old book. Nobody ever ignores him when he plays, so how is this man Not Looking?

Babylon sings a little louder, bows his violin while forcing a bit more of his natural charm in along side every note. This rest of this little inn was looking, smiling dazedly as they danced and sang along to songs they didnt know they knew, songs they would forget as soon as he stopped playing. It wasn't often he let himself do this, playing in front of people who weren't guarded against him, but he needed the coin, and this town needed someone to come steal away their troubles for just one night.

But why isn't That one paying him any attention? Even when Babylon wasn't trying to charm people, his music still stole wills easier than he took wallets. It was something innate about him that did it. Nobody without some form of protection could resist him.

And yet, even now as his own feet begin to hurt and his voice grew strained, that man hadn't looked at him once. He's not deaf, Babylon saw him turn in response to the waiter talking to him. He doesn't seem to be protected in anyway, usually when his magic brushed against countercharms it felt like dragging his nails down a chalk board, but he felt nothing of the sorts from the man. He just seemed completely and wholly unaffected.

That was… Interesting.

He let the final note taper off as he came to a stand still. The tavern goers clapped, the applause tapering off as they blinked their momentary confusion out of their heads. Some might realize they had been charmed, most don't, and no one caused a fuss about it tonight, that he could be greatful for.

If Babylon was a wise man, he would take his earnings and leave, return to his home in the attic of a different tavern. The glorious one that sat in the center of their bustling capital, that wasnt at all like this one here in the very back of a town litteraly called Dead End.

But he wasnt a wise man, he was a curious one with a stranger to try and figure out.

Babylon decided he didn't quite feel like being tactful, and slid into the booth seat across from the stranger. Before he was even fully settled the man spoke without looking up from his book.

"Your playing was beautiful," He had a strangeness to his voice, his tone was flat and it didn't sound quite right coming from his mouth, too deep, too… Something that Babylon couldn't name,

"Thank you," Babylon smiled, nobody ever remembered what he sounded like after he had finished playing. Which was a shame, he'd spent so long cultivatimg his skills that it always felt like such a waste when he could play as horribly as he wanted to and still have everyone who heard bending to his will. But he was still proud of everything he'd worked to learn, "To be honest I kinda thought you weren't enjoying the performance," He cocked his head, "I'm curious whats in that book that kept your attention,"

The man was quiet for a moment, he was so still, his eyes didn't move in his skull and his skin had a sickly yellow tint to it. Definitely not anything he was trying to be, Babylon concluded. He shouldn't fimd comfort in the fact that he wasnt the only one trying to hide a monstrous face behind that of a half elf's, though he felt he was definitely doing a better job at it.

Finally the man spoke, "I liked it a lot," he said simply, "I didn't want to stare, so I kept my head down,"

something pinged in the back of Babylon's mind. Oh, the man was Lying, he wanted to stare. Of all the boons he got out of his wretched deal, this one was always the most useful, "Is that so? I don't mind being stared at if I'm being honest, I actually like it quite a bit. I don't think I could be a performer otherwise,"

"People do not like it when I look directly at them. The bar keep said it was creepy," The man said truthfully, still apparently giving his full attention to the book in front if him,

"I want you to look at me," Babylon started, if his music couldn't charm this stranger maybe something a little more direct could? and if it couldn't… well the very thought of that made his heart race. "You're… Interesting and I think I want to figure you out," he purred, flirting always worked for him, hopefully it would work here,

The man finally looked up and imeaditly Babylon understood why people didn't like him looking at them. His eyes were just wrong, too still and slightly glazed, not wet enough, and the iris was a strange greenish silver. But, it didn't feel like the stranger was looking at him, more like he had already been looking. How hadn't Babylon noticed that before? How long has this stranger been focused on him, and how was he faking not being focused on him so perfectly?

"Oh, you really should keep your chin up more," Babylon started, "Its a shame to hide such a handsome face," he said, it was true, the stranger was handsome if you didn't count his stranger features, a strong jaw and sharp cheek bones with a nose that had a cute crookedness to it, thick lips that weren't quite red enough to look alive, and long stringy black hair that had a pretty wave to it,

Something loud crashed outside, like a tree falling over behind the tavern. The sound sent everyone besides the stranger jumping half out of their skins as he closed his book and hurriedly stuffed it in his jacket, "I think I need to go,"

Babylon wasn't fully back to himself yet, loud noises always sent him on guard, when he reached a hand out to snag the stranger by the sleeve, "Sorry, sir," he apologized, "Was I coming on too strong? Come on. sit back down and give me another shot" he tried to smirk but that feeling of being watched only grew, like he truly, Finally, had the entirety of the stranger's attention, whatever that might mean.

"No- Uh, Good bye," the stranger said, pulling away without a hint of elaboration as he set a fast pace to the back door of the tavern. Not running, or walking, more lumbering and shuffling. Like maybe he wasn't quite used to have legs under his considerable size, tall and broad shouldered with a deep barrel chest and thick arms and legs.

Babylon watched him go, tapping his nails on the old wood of the table as he did. He'd have to meet that guy again someday. He'd never found someone completely immune to him before. People were always at least tempted to follow along with what he asked, but the stranger, the one with the dead eyes and the desire to look at him, he seemed so unaffected. Or at least he wasn't charmed in the slightest by him.

Babylon tried to suppress the fluttering feeling in his chest. This was it. his first chance at maybe being able to befriend someone who wasn't being coerced into liking him.

The next time he decided he would venture into that little no name tavern, Babylon chose to wear a different face. That wasn't unusual, it was safer for him if no one could ever recognize him. What was unusual was the amount of effort he had had to put into making this one. He wanted to make sure that stranger wouldn't look away from the moment he entered. Normally that wouldn't be hard for him, he had a nack for guessing what others found beautiful, but the stranger was a complete mystery. No inkling of what he may like came drifting to the surface.

Still, Babylon tried and tried until he found something right. Small and dainty like how he'd gone last time hadn't been enough to catch his eye, so maybe tall, with a good amount of muscle. Babylon thought about the men who worked the docks down by the lake, they could be a good example for this. He'd borrow the sandy blond waves of one of them too while he was at it, and the wide puppy dog brown eyes of that little cleric that had started following him and his sisters. A beard came next, a few shades darker than his hair and just long enough to round out his jaw.

He looked in his pocket mirror, this face was handsome, the black stretch fabric he favored for his clothing clung to the broad chest and strong thighs in a way even an eunuch would appreciate. He was good at making handsome faces for others to enjoy, but this one didn't sit right. It wasn't what he needed it to be. Maybe…

He let his curves soften and his chest grow, let the beard dissipate until he looked like the former faces sister, still strong and broad, but feminine and beautiful instead of handsome.

He sighed, this was worse. It wasnt farther from what the stranger would want, but he didn't know What about it was wrong. It wasn't the femininity, that he felt certain of.

He fwumped back onto his mattress with a heavy sigh as he let his disguise drop. He hadn't been able to get that stranger out of his head in the entire three weeks since he saw him. This was the first free afternoon he had had in that entire time, and here he was wasting it by not being able to guess at what that stranger would like.

It was frustrating.

It was infuriating.

but most of all it was invigorating. He Didn't have a little window into this stranger's head like he did with everyone else. He was just as lost as any other man trying to catch the eye of a stranger at the bar.

The trap door that lead up into this shared room was shoved open with a loud clang as Tamm, one of his two sisters, pulled herself up without even bothering with the ladder. She huffed a greeting before pulling that cleric up after her. He yelped and stammered when she set him on the floor beside herself.

"Thought you were going out tonight Babs," Tamm said, she gave him a look that definitely meant she wanted some alone time with the cleric,

"I'll be out in a moment, just having a crisis," He huffed, he sat up and tried to ignore the hurt that always came when the cleric flinched everytime he saw him without a disguise. Babylon didn't think he was That ugly, certainly grotesque, but in a pretty way if he did say so himself,

"Go have a crisis somewhere else please," Tamm said, "I promised to teach nerd lord how to sword fight,"

"And you need to be alone in our room for that? I'm pretty good with a sword, maybe I could help teach him?" Babylon scrunched up his nose at her, he Knew what she really wanted to show him, he'd seen the way they'd been making eyes at each other, but he Really Really wished he didn't,

"Babs-" she started, but he waved a dismissive hand as he got up and grabbed his violin,

"Yeah Yeah, I'm going Tammsy. Make sure shorty wraps up, I'm not ready to be an uncle," He goaded before dropping through the trap door and into the hall below. The door slammed shut above him and he heard the latch lock shut, "Don't Eat Him!" Babylon shouted, and snickered when he heard her groan through the ancient wood.

He straightened out his clothes before taking on the face he'd tried out before, the more masculine one just because he didn't want to have to remember to respond to a different set of pronouns. It still wasn't perfect, but it would do.

So i made a mistake. I was stopped last night and cited by a law enforcement officer for no proof of insurance. I had an idea that my insurance was no longer valid due to it overdrafting from my account when i had no money. so i contacted the insurance company and now they will NOT re-instate the insurance policy due to the fact that i have had two bad overdrafts with them. I completly understand, and like i told the officer, this is my fault...i was poor..... anyways. Now i hear that the fine is 400.00 to start, i am willing to pay as i did not take the time to ensure insurance was active on the vehicle and that the overdraft was taken care of. However now i am hearing im going to loose my license...... So i was told by the driver license department that if i go out now and get an SR22 qualifying insurance plan with a different company, that when i walk into the justice court payment window, they will not take away my license from me? however justice court states that my license will get taken away and i have to bring the proof of insurance to the DMV............and get my license back. Please note i have a california license in the state of utah..... please help? what can i do to fix this? i will pay the fine, as i did the crime wether i was for-sure or not....but i need my license, i just moved and am living in a place wityh no friends, and a new job... That tribal was ugly. Mo leaving is not a cute concept and Tyler finding an idol on exile was like... wow. However, not my tribe, not my problem. Right now I want to focus on winning the reward again. I want to send myself to exile as a sort of retribution for RTP. Maybe it'll work, maybe it won't. I know that with my idol, however, I will get through a tribal. Plus, the puzzle is a mood and I think we'll get a good time on it.

Good golly, Miss Molly. Everybody makes choices...and people have CHOSEN. So going into the tribal, I had my heart set on voting Linus. In the case that three million people played idols again, if I threw my vote, I didn't have to play my own, therefore keeping myself in another day. But, I then paid attention to a chat consisting of Tyler, Isaac and Linus. Tyler wanted to vote for Mo and mentally I was thinking "LOL no you bottom bye" because I really didn't want to be taking such a strong side, especially one so brittle as Tyler's. Not to mention Jordan, who I thought would be my automatic lover, has definitely NOT contacted me about much in this game and it made me shifty. However...I got to thinking. I thought to myself, "Kelsey, who are you?" And the answer was "I am Kelsey Valentana Mikaelson, I'm a cutthroat queen who slashes throats and wears ugg boots." And I realized that if I indeed voted for Linus and didn't take a side, I'd be right up there with the people who always vote me out just for being an "easy vote." That's when I said to myself "Ok Kelsey...screw it, you want Tyler in this game, do something about it." I decided then that hey, even if I vote in minority, girl, does anyone REALLY expect anything different out of a controversial gal like me~? So I changed my vote. About...one minute before deadline, but still, I DID IT and I decided to have no regrets. And then....the GAG. First of all, Tyler apparently told no one, not even Jordan, that he had an idol which I don't believe. But then...Mo goes home...! It was really tragic as well, cause I had JUST told Mo he's not going anywhere. But regardless; the vote is revealed that someone voted Linus. I immediately know it's me. However...following Mo's elimination, it opens up a door. Jackson and Tyler are OBVIOUSLY warring sides now. Both of them are boiling hot personalities and it's oil vs water, gurl, it's split the tribe in two. I've told Jackson's side I was the vote for Linus to avoid an idol massacre. And that's true, I did vote Linus and the hosts can confirm. However, I can also tell Tyler's side that I voted for Mo without knowing about the idol, showing I'm willing to take that leap of faith for them. And if they ask the hosts, that is also true. This has given me the opportunity to be a swing vote for BOTH sides and...if I so wanted...I think that really choose who goes next? It's kinda weird to think that I have like...power, cause it NEVER HAPPENS LOL but...I'm just going to plug ALL my effort into this next challenge. The longer I stay in this position without having to make a move, the better. I just really really really REALLY hope it stays this swell forever! okay so! im back in the game FOLKS. on my old tribe im leaving behind Chelsea and RTP who although I wanted to work with them I was way too inactive... oh well. That Rafael guy was sweet. But on exile I got to seriously bond with Akito. I helped her with the puzzles (even though the reward is already gone since Tyler got it, and all i got to know is that THEY DON'T REPLACE IT). But I get an ally! finally! And she's telling me all this stuff about her tribe and how Tyler and Jordan M are beefing people. blah blah. I didn't really follow or understand what the dynmaics are like there. But I can tell Quillynn and Jackson that Chelsea and I worked well together and maybe work with them. Akito said that they're together. And Kelsey is in the middle? Since I'm mutiny'ing I can use this as a fresh start! Maybe I won't have to use my idol the first tribal I go to. NEVERMIND- where the plot was replaced by a chicken

Everything, more or less, that happened in the last adventure in 90lbs FineCoal was retconned. 

I’m not sure why though, I’m pretty sure he wanted these things to happen later and but the parties antics screwed up the time table, but what I do know is that the dm of OfficialEvent was just eating up the utter chaos that ensued. “Now you know what it feels like!” he exclaimed quite joyously at one point.

So, what the event was replaced with was this:

-a town meeting meeting but not mandatory, rather than outlawing this that and the other it was just a royal decree that that a curfew would be put in place starting at the end of the week, giving enough time for everyone to make arrangements to comply with that. 

---what about people who work late? they better call a cab or their employer better have a room set a side for people to crash in until the morning/designated time

---what if you are a cab driver? you’ll have a licence to be out late which will be checked and you better have it.

---what is all of this for? because the party and also their rival gang have blown up A LOT of things, nobody knows it was us for sure but thats probably part of the problem. we’ve had lots of opportunity to have stealth missions but so far have turned all of them into a bloodbath, turns out that has repercussions. and also i guess those feral children that we released from a textile mill we never did go round them up. so who knows what they got up to

after the meeting bruce the cabby came up to the party and asked us to do him a favor: get schematics for a ‘battle wagon’ and bring them to him. He told us where to go- some sort of  wainwright factory? and we were hoping for a smash and grab but the dude we met at the who I’m pretty sure was a templar? I never saw the insignia that the party leader was shown so I only have the reaction she gave when she saw it. but I’m like, 99% sure based on that, and also the fact that they knew a bunch of stuff they had no reason to know.

once the party leader realized that the people we were dealing with were out of our league they tried a different approach.

“we want schematics for a battle wagon, how can we make this happen?”,very civilized and straight forward, novel for us. 

the probably templar gave us these choices: buy it for 400 coppers, buy it for 100 coppers and the deed to some land we stole from another gang, buy it for the deed and manual labor assistance when they build... whatever they are going to build there.

mind you- my character didn’t go to the town meeting and probably didn’t go to this either, Hugo stayed home and worked on gathering supplies and materials for the various things everyone wants to do but cant because I have yet to build the things they need so I probably should have stayed quiet, and mostly I did, but when the party leaders player asked the group for thoughts out of character I chimed in a bit.

mostly nobody wanted to take part of any of it beyond, A- steal it anyway even though BAD IDEA, or B- do other jobs and get the money to pay for it because the deed is probably worth more than this offer for some reason.

however some of us reasoned that if they really wanted that deed they would get it and maybe we shouldnt make an enemy of these guys just yet. 

the leader reasoned we should take the third offer- help build the thing the templars want to build and pay nothing, because were poor and need money to survive. 

the one handed girls player complained about the disussion because none of it mattered, that faction was getting the deed no matter what so why bother discusing? this interaction was meaningless and served only to fix something the dm did wrong. I think he was just being a weenie because his character wasnt getting any spotlight and he and the dm had gotten into an argument earlier that day or something. He didn’t really have a preference to which offer we took just was salty in general about everything and seemed to really want everyone to know he wasn’t into any of this.

I agreed with the party leader: we should take the third offer, but for different reasons, if we help build the thing we’ll know more about it. well have seen the blue prints have walked the rooms and hallways and that should give us a pretty good idea about what its for and how to get in and out later. the gnome/new guy agreed.

the one handed girl player, argued? but wasnt really arguing? they were just restating what I said but really passive aggressively? as if what I said was wrong and different from what they were saying? but it was the same thing? I dunno, dude was just being a weenie I think because he didn’t think of that first? but also kept saying how this whole thing was pointless and dumb? but party leader is a face character they pretty much were built for healing and talking, they can fight but thats not what theyre good at so... come on let them have some action.

I dunno if the party leader or anyone else heard any of this exchange but either way, thats what the offer we took. it was descided that the two characters whos players dont show up because they dont like these rules loose games will be doing the construction mostly. the rubble from that property would be delivered to the cabin within the week because they dont want it anyway and we were going gather it off screen ourselves anyway to build shit with.

after, the gnome and... jamie? went to sneak into a casino to rob the place, but it didn’t really go down like that. gnome got on jamies shoulders and I gave them one of hugos long coats so they looked like one normal sized but terribly proportioned person and they went off. which begs the question, what IS jamie? we just don’t know.

they learned the layout of the first (slots and roulette), second (cards ad dice) and seventh floors of the casino and discovered that floor seven had dog fighting.... which lead to the gnome- who had his ears cut much like elves do- arranging an agreement for a child to fight the dog champion Mama Fluffy, win or loose payment would be given to jamie to bring back to the party (there was concern that gnome might die either from the dog or from the casino security) because “holy shit this gnomes gotta fight that dog and win thats my goal”, said the new guy. 

the contract was signed and he and jamie revealed their selves, gnome successfully passed himself off as a child, and the fight commenced, mostly naked gnome vs angry hungry dog. it went pretty well but he lost the fight he did get a whole gold piece for the effort though. as a joke the dm mentioned that if they had stopped on the fifth or sixth floor  (I forget) there would have been a chicken fight. so the gnome player10000x more excited about this encounter payed to get himself healed and signed up to fight a “monstrous chicken”. which may have been more like a cassowary but with coloration like a chicken? the party leader ooc commented that a chicken matching the description the dm gave wasnt a thing and was probably not possible  so what is it doing in this setting? just comic relief? why was this happening? his only explanation was a that look dms give, “hush pls I know what I’m doing, just go with it in time you may understand” and just carrying on with the encounter. we suspect comic relief but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was some sort of mad science-ing. we may or may not find out.

the gnome tamed the chicken, during the course of the glorious battle and rode it home, he didn’t pick up his winnings though he just left right way and they may have been forfeited because of that. it has taken over our kitchen table. if his character dies the chicken is to be willed to Hugo because I agreed to build it its own house.

the dm had actual plot for after the deed was signed over but we never got to it.

the one handed girl went to the library all day to learn about black smithing? instead of trying to apprentice at a black smith? where actual interactions and things could happen? or trying to find ways to take advantage of the skills he already has for his character? and the player left the table but stayed at the shop when gnome and jamie went to the casino figuring I guess his character wasnt getting any screen time this adventure? i dunno. he sure did miss a pretty great series of events.

stating if I don’t want to follow the system I can leave he then takes my entire duffel dumps it onto the floor and then rebags it into victoria secret bags then moves it to the front counter so it can be rang in I thought this was a little odd but hey he was doing all the work rebagging it so whatever i’m like dude i’m going to be spending about 8k today all I want to do is come in spend some deal to me right wrong again he cited some policy and said if the order is more than 750 items that they aren’t allowed to ring in under 750 items on any one receipt id like to point out that that amount is higher than your employees said they could take as a cash payment I asked him to please show me that I would understand better if I could just read it he was willing to do so he brought out the policy book and to my surprise what it actually said was words to the afffect of cash payments cannot be split up or over 750 items I forget the second half my immediate reply was so what’s the big deal im using credit not cash he snatched the policy book away from me at that point and said you know what you can just listen to me or I don’t have to let you buy anything it’s up to my discretion I then called your orlando outlet and your new jersey outlet and talked to the store managers and cited your policy I was given I asked them to confirm if that was accurate and both said if it was a policy it was news to them I then asked if they would let me buy my order using 4 cards and 4 receipts the woman at orlando said oh my gosh yes we do that every single day I asked if I went to her store if I would have any trouble with this in the future and was told no then she said you can always come down here if you’re in the area and i’ll be happy to take your order after that phone call I tried again here’s the video of that attempt I said listen I have 4 credit cards your register girl said you told her she can’t ring up an order under 750 items that’s 3500 if it’s 5 items not all of my cards have that much I have done multiple receipts every time I came here heck I can even supply them to show it he tells me that because I am order so many items that I can’t have less tan 750 items per receipt so I point around to everyone else and ask what about everyone else you aren’t forcing them to spend a minimum of 750 items what about the final charge i’ll have 750 items for two tickets but the leftover isn’t going to be 750 items you’re not going to let me buy them he shrugged his shoulders to say no at this point I haven’t yelled ive been a bit snarky and sarcastic because I know he’s just giving me a hard time two people ring in our order almost every time I am up there and we were there 3 times in the last 6 months spent a bunch each time so at 730 8pm or so we are done shopping assuming that two people could ring us up ended up being a fantasy he forced one employee only to ring us up later on he comes up when its now close to 9pm and says hey you mind if we ring you up on both registers I chuckle and say no I don’t but you do you don’t want to be breaking that 750 rule do you he glared at me and then sent the employee away and walked off after blinking a few times I laugh because after telling me over and over he couldn’t do it he just got caught trying to do what should have been done to begin with a short while later after 9 I find out that everyone is standing uip front except for the one girl and another associate because none of the rest of them are allowed to help her ring us up the only two people left in the store with about 700 more items to be rang in if that’s not enough since it was a holidy all of these employees are apparently being paid overtime to stand around and wait at a bit after 10 all but two girls leave and one girl is waiting to count cash while the other girl sits and keeps ringing stuff in we apologize profusely we expected two employees to ring us up like always and timed our visit to be out around 9 if this had happened instead of having one literally stand there and watch her for 1 hour and 47 minutes after close we would have all been out on time and no overtime or extra hours spent so finally at 10 47 pm our orders are done we thank the lovely girl lauren and jasmine who got stuck staying 2 hours past close because a manager made up some random policy and had to double down when I pointed out he really needed to follow that 750 rule when he was going to toss another girl on the register if this is policy fine it doesn’t seem to be no manager at your other outlets knew what he was talking about the orlando one insisted that the only restrictions are on cash payments and verified I was paying cash or credit it’s a pretty humiliating experience to get hassled trying to buy panties and bras by someone who’s on some type of power trip the only thing I said sideways to him was that I flat out didn’t believe his policy and that credit absolutely is not the same as cash I didnt call him any names scream at him or did anything to disrupt the store beyond what you see in the videos if this is not policy i’d like an apology from that manager in person or over the phone admitting he was mistaken I would hope that the next time I go there I am not hassled but if not I guess there’s always orlando or new jersey who seem to be quite friendly I also want to give recognition to jasmine and lauren lauren is the poor soul who got stuck ringing everything in alone because of the manager’s silly rule and not allowing anyone to help because it would be in violation of the 750 item rule jasmine was the cash counter who had to wait until we were out of the store to count cash even more interesting is that I had a former employee with me helping me buy and she said she never heard of this policy either but it doesn’t mean it wasn’t added since she left she was just as confused because the manager spent over 30 minutes trying to explain and defend this when that time certainly would have been more efficiently spent doing productive things instead of hassling someone who literally sits in a corner and speaks to no one while sorting through your products one
