And I'm just asking you not to call every person who’s uncomfortable with it a homophobe or mega-christian. I said to you why I am uncomfortable with that scene, because it seems to me that you’ll being going after everyone who doesn’t see it or who’s uncomfortable with that. And also for me, I don’t see such a meaning in that scene at all, no matter how hard I try, and no it’s not because I’m into purity culture, and no it’s not because Mike and Will are gay. Also, not all minors are like you, I've seen some of them feel uncomfortable when adults talk about relationships between teenagers in a sexual way, but that doesn’t mean they’re homophobic oh my god (Although I know you don't care because I see a lot of posts here about shaming minors because of this) (And no I’m not talking about kiss practice fic) (And it also seems like a lot of the people in the byler tag can’t take other people's opinions)

1. Never said anyone was a mega-homophobe or christian, just that they’re partaking in purity culture

i literally said you don’t have to like it, but denying its existence because you don’t like it is different

3. just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. if you want an explanation dm me but if you’re just saying you don’t see it to try and deny its existence then i can’t help you with that. happy to help explain that imagery if you’re actually curious

4. being personally uncomfortable with sex/sexual attraction doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be represented. if you don’t want to watch sexual activity, then you don’t have to, but it’s unfair for the show to exclude the gay couple and denies some teens representation. just skip over it

5. okay??? just because some minors don’t want to hear adults discuss it isn’t my problem? those kids can learn to curate their own experiences too and block people discussing things that make them uncomfortable. again, never said anyone was an outright homophobe for being uncomfortable with stuff like that. i’m saying anti purity culture enforces homophobic rhetoric created by our oppressors and people unknowingly buy into that rhetoric because it’s framed under the pretense of “protect the children”

7. when did i shame minors???? this whole thing is in support of teens getting to see themselves on screen and not feel shamed for experiencing sexual attraction. bro what

Leland HCs, because he died in Chapter Four

My heart has been broken by fanfiction countless times with Leland dying omg. (You know who you are) Anyways so I decided to write some Leland Golden boy McKinney HCs!!! They're mostly for my comfort and my inexplicable thoughts. Went from Leland hater to Leland brainrot real fast. Thank you, fanfiction authors! You're a gift to the planet <3 Not used to writing for characters that aren't my ocs, and these are purely my own comfort hcs, so hopefully you guys don't mind my little contribution to the fandom. I might post other hcs if people want? idk Side note: These are also kind of somewhere between "soft boyfriend" and "part time group dad" energy, interpret these how you want. :D

He's not big on slushies originally. Probably not a big fan of cold things generally with a few exceptions of course, but he can't resist seeing you so excited to try the new flavour and wanting to drag him along. (At the time, probably blue raspberry. It came out in '74!) And of course, he'll go with you. You manage to persuade him to try it. He winds up enjoying them quite a lot. Blue raspberry is his favourite from then on, though you can never quite tell if it's the flavour that he likes or the fact that you introduced it to him.

He doesn't like hot custard. Can't explain that one, it's just a thought, honestly. But he'd rather die than eat hot custard, he just doesn't like it lmao

He absolutely has a thing for you wearing his shirts or if he has a jacket on, his jacket at the time. Especially when it's colder out, and he knows he can help you warm up. He protects his friends from literal cannibals in game, so why not from the elements too? And to build on this, I also HC he doesn't really like leather jackets because of his arms. They're always tight for his shoulders. But he still wears them sometimes for style points, you know what I'm saying? (When I say "a thing" here it means his heart is swelling and he can't stop smiling. Proud dad, maybe happy boyfriend, I dunno I'm just here for happy and alive boy Leland)

He gives the best hugs out of the whole group, for sure. He's always warm to the touch, even in winter, it's like he's literally got a built in heater or something. Plus, look at him. He is literally built for hugs. Wrestle hugs? Are those a thing? They are now I said so He'd definitely have anyone he cuddles with feel safe when he holds them. (He also prefers to be hugged around the waist than higher up his body.)

If you ever go out to watch a movie with him, you're absolutely leaving there laughing. Leland is a master of comedic timing and stupid comments. He'll find a way to spin any movie to be a comedy. Horror, Romance, anything. He'll make a terrible joke, and it'll be funny. Maybe less because of the actual comedic value, more in how he delivers his jokes, or how he ends up laughing halfway through them and ends up laughing also. His laugh is infectious.

Leland gives me dad joke energy. I will not elaborate.

He is literally just such a ray of sunshine. He's a bit dim-witted at times (it's ok bb me too <3) but he makes up for it in how pure he generally is. He's a good shoulder to cry on, especially while hugging him (literally speaking as well as emotional things- sorry, I'll shut up about his arms now). He might not be 100% certain how to comfort you most of the time, but he's trying his best.

One thing I can conform for an absolute certain is that he has the most banging record collection anybody has ever known. Man has brilliant taste in music. If you're the type of person that sees fluffy and/or soft hair and immediately wants to braid a bit of it, he will gladly let you do so. He'll probably have to lean down for it to be more comfortable for you. He doesn't care if you're a bit messy or not used to braiding hair properly, he'll happily keep it in for a day at least. He has the SOFTEST hair anybody has ever known, he's just a very fluffy boy and I love him.

In the winter, if you forget to bring gloves or whatnot, he'll hold your hands to warm them up. Referring back to the little portable heater energy thingy we've got going for him. Also, doesn't matter who you are his hands are always bigger than yours even if it's very slightly.

"Ay, ¡pero mírate!" Sandra says, hugging me. She and Marco have come to spend a couple of days with us in London now that La Liga is on their Christmas break. "Last time I saw you, you were barely showing!"

"And now, look" I say, caressing my belly.

"Two months left, right?"

"I think I am. Mason, on the other hand..."

"He's freaking out, isn't he?" Sandra says.

Instead of spending most part of his free time playing golf or video games with his friends, he's now using that time to read books about pregnancies and babies. And when he is online, he's constantly watching videos, reading more, and searching and buying everything we may need. Or not.

"Can I check the nursery?" Sandra asks. "Seeing it on videos isn't the same as in real life."

"She's been looking forward to it since we got the plane tickets. I think she's more excited about that than seeing you" Marco says.

"Hey!" she replies, hitting him on the arm. "I'm excited because this is a very special project. It is my first nursery, and I don't usually work through facetime, I visit the places I'm decorating. I must make sure everything is perfect for the little one."

"If you say so... Ouch!" Marco complains when Sandra hits him again.

"C'mon, I'm also excited about you seeing it for the first time" I say, grabbing her arm. Since Sandra works as an interior designer, I asked for help with the nursery. I had no idea about where to start.

"Oh my God, it's perfect!" she says once we walk into the room, checking every detail. "And the wallpaper! So much prettier in person!"

"I love it. Now I kind of want the whole house to be covered on it."

"The rest of the house looks great the way it is, don't touch anything" she says, threatening me with her finger.

"The hanger with all the little shirts is so cute" Marco says.

"Mason loves it."

"He is the one who put the Chelsea one first, isn't he?"

"Yep. And when Leah comes to visit, it's the Arsenal one the one that magically shows up first."

"I can see them fighting over the shirt the baby must wear" Marco laughs.

"Oh, that's already happening. Sometimes Declan also is involved and... Yeah. So I've told them that those stay on the hanger, and the only one that gets to be worn is the England one. That makes everyone happy."

"Marco, don't give them ideas!" Sandra says.

"I knew it could happen, so I said no name or number. Besides, only Mason and I know the name."

"Which I think is very rude. Not telling your dear friends about the name... What if I want to get you something with the name embroided?" Sandra says, checking the wardrobe. "But look at all these little outfits! You better send me photos every single day."

"I will, you aren’t the first person who asks for it. I see myself making a group chat just to send photos of the outfits.”

“Baby influencer” Marco says.

“Have you decided if you will show the face on social media?” Sandra asks.

“No, not yet. Mason is dying to be able to go out and do the walk around the pitch at the end of the season like he’s done with Summer. He’s said that it is a dream he’s always had, to do that with his kids. Same if he wins something. And whether you like or not, there will be photos and videos online. So I guess we’ll see how things go, and how comfortable we feel.”

“Good” Sandra says. “Now let’s take some photos of this beautiful room. Will you allow me to post them on Instagram?”

“Of course! I know how much it means to you.”

Hoo boy. I said I’d put this in your inbox so here we go.

So I have this friend. We will call her Molly but that is not her name. She had a crush on a boy who we will call Eggo, even while she was dating her boyfriend, who we will call London. So in January of this year, Molly breaks up with London because he’s really not being a good person. So she is free to pine after Eggo. Like he’s all that she talks about.

But I knew a secret. Eggo had recently broken up with /his/ girlfriend, Oleander. Oleander actually broke up with him because he was being very controlling and honestly started taking male podcasts to heart. So we know that Eggo is not the best guy either.

But I let this play out. I take all of Molly’s gushing and pining as an “oh maybe he’s not that bad” right? But in my heart of hearts I know better, because I sit right next to Eggo in my Spanish class and he tries to mansplain the language to me. Like come on man. We’re both learning this for the first time, and for all I know, you’re not doing much better than me. And his sense of humor is lame. But anyway.

Enough time goes by that Molly and Eggo start hanging out a lot. Like texting each other all the time, they’re on call all night long, they GO OUT TO PLACES TOGETHER ON THE WEEKENDS. And eventually, Molly confesses that she likes him. Now, it’s presumed that he likes her back, right? He’s been doing all of this with her, and all signs point to romance.

But no. He tells her “he doesn’t like her like that”. And so Molly says that she will try to drop her attraction. Mind you, she turns as red as a tomato whenever we see him in the hall. Like it’s bad. But they… keep hanging out… every weekend… texting all day… and Maria is still trying to ignore him.

So he’s obviously leading her on. Playing with her feelings. However. Today at lunch, I got The News. That my other friend who we will call Lavender has ALSO has a crush on Eggo. And she’s been flirting with him, because EGGO TOLD HER that he was NOT talking to anybody else. But obviously, he WAS talking to Molly! And that’s quite interesting, and more complicated because Molly and Lavender had a falling-out a couple years ago. But Lavender wants to tell Molly the situation, but she’s worried that Molly will think she’s trying to pick up a hammer and smash their relationship into further pieces.

And so I was elected to go tell Molly at lunch today that Lavender had something to tell her. And so I did. And I told Molly it was about Eggo. And so she looked up and caught Lavender’s eye and Lavender came over, filled Molly in, and now we’re all really really teamed up against him and we have a hater group chat 🥰🥰🥰

I'm by no means going into relationship counseling for my degree BUT I do work at a psychiatric hospital for raw experience (I work FL, baker act laws an all, very, uh special compared to other involuntary laws anywho-) and my physical degree is in research for broad psychology.

With that being said, let me be as brief as possible. I'm super proud of you for speaking up to this guy, a good handful of my patients can't even do that and they end up with me short-term because they said the wrong thing to the wrong person (oh FL, and your special wording) or another involuntary placement happens (ex-parte or marchman) because not all relationships are great or have boundaries or what have you.

(Also again, not 100% my forte here, but I've been burned in real life to the point that my two extremes became "study the human psyche like a bug" and "study the human body like a bug" but in a villain origin story sort of way, and I'm almost done with the psyche part, I'll be a real villain with the other part, not the point-). I did kind of scroll past some of your other vents about this and skimmed them so forgive me, I lack the attention span for things. I want you to know that your concerns look valid, and some of your friends (not us) also seem concerned (and some of us, here, also have concerns). You have a decently broad support system and you're using it in such a good way, don't let anyone take it from you (block out the haters. Spoons, CDs on the glasses). The reason we get suspicious from past things is also 100% valid, we've been burned (or however you personally want to describe it) before more likely than not. I'm not here to tell you to break up with your significant other immediately if there's no reason for it. You're allowed to be suspicious. But you're also doing great by working up this courage to speak up, that's one of the hardest steps. I know for me, speaking up in some situations (even coming off anon sometimes, I'm also super anti-social and I picked psychology as a degree, research as a pth and a psych hospital as a job, which is the most social thing I could find, 0 stars) often feels like those movie scenes with intense fear and anxiety, almost fishbowl-like, y'know what I mean?

Make yourself come first at the end of the day no matter what. You don't have to have main character energy in the sense that you own everything and get away with everything, but you should make sure you do things for you, not to keep the peace. If you're not happy, you've got a support system from what you've demonstrated, you can do anything with that. If you think something is amiss, trust that feeling, investigate safely, draw your own conclusions because obviously you know more than your devoted tumblr followers because we do not live in your head (that'd be weird, a constant party I'm sure, but still weird).

I personally don't know the full story, so I don't want to dictate your decision and I'm just some girl on anon who's crying over a piece of paper from a university, I've got my own life struggles beyond my piece of paper that I probably could've bought off Amazon if I were smart (alas, am not, went to school instead; I could probably solve my other struggle like that too right? anyone know a good neurologist I can buy off Amazon at this point. Mine completely forgot which patient I was LMAO she keeps asking if I'm her chronic TBI patient like bro? huh? so I'm back at square one with 0 treatment because of her stupidity, maybe worse because of how it happened, anyway this leads into my next point). This was a really entertaining read I'm ngl, and I'm a little at a loss for what to reply with so excuse me for my brevity but thank you so much for the encouragement.

Ever since getting into this relationship, I feel like I've wracked up the nerves to communicate my needs and confront someone when something's gone wrong, or when something's irking me. The anxiety, or the want to get rid of that anxiety, is what drives me to do what I never thought I'd do. I'm starting to realise I'm someone who cannot let something sit on my chest or it'll absolutely suffocate me, so I let that be the driving force of getting me into action.

My brain basically works like this now: "We need to alleviate this anxiety now by talking with them. Is it nerve wracking? Yes. Does it feel like you're gonna die? Also yes. But could you let this sit on your chest for any longer than it already has before it actually fucking kills you? No. So just fucking do it and don't look back."

And yeah, my support system on both here and within my own friend group has helped immensely, I don't think I would have been able to do this alone.

Obviously, the mix of opinions and advice can sometimes make me feel a little bit muddled up on what to do, but I do end up taking some of the advice on board, mixed with my original plan on what to do, and it's full steam ahead after that.

they were currently backstage at mama, and they were preparing for their first ever performance there. they were very excited, this was their first time at such a big event, and they were ready to show everyone who they really were.

they were all getting changed, just coming back from rehearsals and ready to start getting ready for the real thing.

recently, yuri has been a lot of comments concerning her body, and she was tired of it. she was very confident in her body, and she didn’t think any one else should have a say on how she feel. although it was hard to keep that mindset, she worked very hard to brush off every comment that told her she needed to loose weight. she knew she was healthy, and she would be damned if she would let anyone tell her she’s not.

she quickly grabbed her outfit from her stylist, and ran to get changed before any of the boys could see it. normally, she would show them before hand, but she wanted this to be a suprise.

she was going to show off her body at the show, to show all the haters that she did not care about one single word they told her. she was going to show her confidence on stage, and even though she could perfectly do that in any outfit, she thought if she showcased her body tonight that it would be a big slap into the face of haters.

she was wearing a white crop top with rhinestones on it that ended above her rib cage and a pair of white demin shorts. this was paired with white sparkly gloves, and white combat boots, along with a fluffy white jacket. she looked in the mirror, and she loved the outfit so much, she was so excited to wear it on stage, and show it to the boys. she took a deep breath, and opened the door, and walked out. she posed in the middle of the room, and laughed at the boys expressions.

they were speechless, their mouths were open, and their eyes were big, they never saw her in anything that was more revealing than them, which wasn’t very much. hongjoong was the first one that spoke up, “you look amazing yuri!” he began clapping and yuri laughed and bowed, murmuring a soft thank you.

“you do look amazing yuri, gorgeous too. are you sure you want to wear it though, with everything that people were saying?” seonghwa asked, making eye contact with her. yuri chuckled, and nodded her head.

“that’s exactly the reason i want to wear it, i want to show everyone i’m happy with how i look, and that i’m already incredibly sexy. a slap to the face to them, you know?” yuri said, and the boys started clapping. some started yelling “queen”, and “show them”, and yuri laughed and smiled. she was happy the boys were supportive, because she would defiantly need a lot afterwards.

“yuri, i am so incredibly proud of you. thank you for not listening to them.” mingi said and ran up and wrapped an arm around her shoulder, and yuri hugged him back.

“it was hard, but i did it! i cant wait to watch the idol reactions later.” yuri laughed, loving to watch those in her free time.

“when you get on stage, can i scream that your my best friend?” mingi asked.

“mingi, no, you gotta show your abs remember? we can both show skin together, besties do everything together.” yuri commented, making everyone laugh. they we’re definitely being revealing twins today.

yuri was getting her make up done, she was sitting by the wall with san to her right.

“you do look really good, by the way.” san said, looking over when the stylist walked away. yuri laughed, were they all just realizing it now?

“i need to show my body to get compliments? noted.” yuri laughed when san protested.

“i know that’s not what you meant. thanks though. i don’t know if i’ll be able to make it today without freezing to death though.” yuri chuckled, reaching over to the table and wrapping the blanket around her.

“say hi to atiny yuri!” wooyoung screamed, and yuri looked at him through the mirror and waved at the camera through the mirror.

“atiny, did you like my outfit?” yuri asked, winking into the mirror. she could hear wooyoung chuckle and the zoom in noise behind her.

“oh atiny is going to go crazy, i won’t have any atiny biasing me anymore! they are all going to go to you!” wooyoung complained, zooming back out.

“sorry wooyoung, but the sexy position is being handed over to me. maybe next time” yuri giggled, laughing harder when wooyoung screamed.

“atiny, the best time to mess with my members is when i’m getting my makeup and hair done, they can’t touch me then.” yuri chuckled, it was true. they would get in trouble if they tried to get back at her, so she was completely safe.

yuri was currently sitting on the couch now, scrolling through her phone, when she felt someone sink next to her. she looked up, and smiled at hongjoong, who sat next to her.

“yuri, i was thinking about something, only if your okay with it.” hongjoong said, causing yuri to hum.

“i was thinking at the end, you know how normally seonghwa has the ending part?” yuri nodded, not seeing where he was going with this.

“i was thinking that you could do it instead, since you do it earlier in the song too, so we could just flip the timing of those parts. like you take seonghwa’s part at the end, and then he take’s you singing the chrous in return.” hongjoon said, looking over to yuri. it could work, they could just practice it real fast in the room, and it wouldn’t be a big change, since they both stand by each other.

“did you talk to seonghwa oppa about this?” yuri was fine with it, as long as seonghwa was fine with it.

“yeah, he’s fine with it. he really wants you to do it, so do i. i think it would be really iconic if you do the ending part, and it would add a even more thrilling ending you know?” hongjoong said, smiling.

“i’ll do it, we should practice it now.” yuri stood up, and walked over to seonghwa.

“do you want to practice the part change?” yuri smiled, and looked down at seonghwa. giggling when he shot up.

“yes, let’s do it. i’m happy you decide to do it!” yuri laughed and got in position, practice with seonghwa.

“what are you two doing?” yeosang asked, looking at them through the mirror.

“we are switching parts, yuri is having the ending part.” seonghwa said. all of the members gasped, they weren’t aware of this.

“so suddenly?” jongho asked, they only had a few hours until their performance.

“it’s not that big of a change, so it’s no biggie.” yuri said, it really wasn’t. they both already figuried it out.

“should we practice it as a group real fast?” wooyoung asked, looking around. all the members nodded, and did a quick run through of the dance. the staff clapping when all of them were done.

“it’s cool when you do it yuri, you should permanently do that part.” yeosang joked, all of them laughing when seonghwa screamed in protest.

all of them were stretching, getting ready to be called.

“ATEEZ, stand by!” one of the directors yelled, and all of them stood up, making last minute touches and putting on their mics, and heading back stage.

“are you ready to show them that you are a confident queen, yuri?” mingi asked, nudging her and smiling.

“oh, i was born ready, get together guys!” yuri whispered, gathering the boys into the circle.

“leader, would you do the honors?” yuri looked up at hongjoong and smiled.

“1,2, nine makes one team, fighting!” all of them said together, and yuri felt the chills run up her arm. she was ready to give the performance of her life.

I've had a lot of people tell me how much the weekly updates were grounding and a breath of fresh air in this pandemilovato but your comment has to be one of the best I've got so far because.... oh man, I desperately need not only others but also myself to realise just how taxing it was.

So yeah, thank you for loving my story but also thank you for reminding myself that it was a HUGE accomplishment and that it's okay if I maybe can't meet it anymore. I've recently begun digging deep into myself and started going to more intensive (and intrusive) therapy and had some diagnosis that are pretty mindblowing in a way and now I'm trying to be mindful not to push myself to my limits. It's hard af, let me tell you, I know the potential I have and it feels normal to always want to achieve it but I gotta remind myself that maybe my "full potential" isn't as healthy as I thought it was.

I'm extremely glad that I got the opportunity to give y'all that experience of nice 8-12k long chapters a week, with lots of character and plot work, at roughly the same time, every Fire Friday. *aggressively throws serotonin everywhere I can •̀.̫•́✧*

For a bit of an update on how my process is coming along: I got sick. Covid got me y'all and I still only had the first dose and suffer from asthma so daaamn this motherfucker's got hands. No need to worry about me tho!! My tests are coming back okay and at least my fever is gone BUT that means my brain is a bit like mush rn and while I'm still working, I'm doing so veeery much slower. Anyways, covid was just the cherry on top this month but I don't want to get too deep into it.

I genuinely think Fire Fridays were good not only for you guys (esp during that time back in 2020 where literally everyone was at home and routines were thrown out the window faster than you can say defenestration) but also for me, it gave me a nice sense of "normal" when everything was shit. Uuhh as you've seen in my last AN, I dropped out of college and am currently pursuing other dreams/way of living so I think having that set date will help me A LOT while juggling real life and fandom life. That being said, some things had to change.

First of all is the way of seeing Fire Fridays as if it's a deadline set by my boss. Nah, I don't get paid for writing fanfiction and I'm done treating it as a job. I know not a lot of people have the same care that you did while commenting and there is a lot of nagging and grumbling about Fire Fridays (even if sometimes those comments are even sweet while they do it) but I'm incredibly proud to say that comments from people in the internet I don't know hardly have an affect on me. Lol y'all haters can hate but I'm my worse critic and I fkn know it, nothing you say will change the way I see myself and my work. That being said, a lot of that nagging was being unconsciously done by me *gasp* I know. I'm an overachiever. Shocking.

NO MORE OF THAT.

Next order of business is how I was going about Fire Fridays. My first break came because I literally didn't have any "spare chapters" meaning, I wrote, edited, sent for my Beta to edit, and then edited myself again a whole ass 9k monster every week and that shit was like a kick to the ass right into the general direction of Burnout City. Not fun. So I took a "break" which wasn't really a break because I still wrote 71k words in that month and when I started back up with Fire Fridays, I had a lot of chapters to post, right? WRONG. If each chapter had 10k words (which is roughly what was happening on an average), that meant I only had 7 new chapters to post with severe burnout making it practically impossible for me to write anything else to the point that I couldn't even bring myself to edit the first drafts of those chapters. Again. Not fun.

So now, my idea has been: try to aim for Fire Fridays in a healthy way but also let my readers know they might not get another batch of those lovely what? six months of new chapters every friday. What does that mean? Well, it means I'm trying to write some chapters ahead! So while y'all aren't really getting anything since the last chapter, that has been a conscious decision on my part not to leave y'all with horrible cliffhangers when I can't be sure I'll make quick enough updates (and that definition has changed to maybe twice a month? We'll see). I'm writing. It's going fairly slowly by my standards but since I've come really close to giving up on DoF in favour of RL original content, I'm proud of it.

Chapter Six: Don’t You Pretend

Would You Call That Love

Pairing: Chris Evans x Raina Morrison (OC)

Rating: PG to PG-13 (Might be 18+ for some chapters)

Description: There was always that one person Chris Evans tended to turn to when he was not in a committed relationship, Raina Morrison. He could confide in her about things going on in his life that he did not feel comfortable talking to his family or close friends about. Chris and Raina were able to establish a way to openly communicate with one another, but also being respectful of the other’s time and needs. It was the only constant “relationship” he had, but without all the nonsense of trying to build a life together. A “friends with benefits” situation. However, what happens when Chris starts rethinking his “relationship” with Raina and if either are willing to pursue something more?

Author’s Note: It has been forever since I have updated this story. I was not sure where I wanted to take it since the I posted the last chapter. For this chapter, I wanted to explore more into Raina’s relationship with her dad and how supportive Chris is. So this chapter is basically Chris being a supportive boyfriend to his girlfriend.

Sadly, I do not know Chris Evans or anyone in his family, and this is just a fictional take on his life. I do not permit this fic to be reposted on other platforms.  

Chris and Raina did their best to keep their new relationship quiet. While his mother and siblings knew of the couple’s new relationship status, along with Raina’s father, they wanted to keep it quiet for the time being. Both wanted to enjoy the “honeymoon” stage without the prying eyes of the media and fans. 

While Chris dreaded the media intrusion, it was the fans Raina was more worried about. Flashbacks of her time with Tom were making the singer have bouts of PTSD. Raina feared that if the fans found out that she was dating Chris, they (mostly his fans, let’s be honest) would be brutal towards her, just like Tom’s fans. 

She asked Chris one night what he would do if his fans outright attacked her via social media. He was stumped at the question at first.

“Like, if you see fans sending me hate though…I don’t know, Twitter, would you respond? Would you say something? Are you comfortable with saying anything if there is hate towards me because I am now dating you?” Raina asked, worried about his answer.

“I mean, yeah, I would say something,” Chris replied, but Raina could detect the unsureness in his voice. “What?” Chris asked when he saw the look you gave him.

“You saw how some of the fans were towards Jenny. They said hateful things about her, and you didn’t do anything to defend her or your relationship. What makes me different?” Raina pushed. She wanted to get it all out—no bullshit between Chris and her.

Chris sighed. “I can fully admit that I fucked up when it came to my relationship with Jenny. I didn’t protect her like I should have when we began dating. It was the first public relationship I had been in a long while. However, that is no excuse. The difference between you and Jenny is that 1.) I love you. I love you so much. So I would never stand for anyone hating on you, and 2.) I know that once the fans see that our relationship is real and not some Hollywood PR bullshit, that they will support us.”

Raina took in a deep breath and let it out. She leaned into Chris, and he wrapped his arms around her and placed a kiss on her head. “I like that you aren’t as pessimistic as me. That is encouraging and helps me to ease my anxiety,” she said to him.

“We got this, Raina. We will make it through the hard part, trust me.”

Three weeks. That was how long Chris and Raina were able to hide their relationship. It was a nice quiet three weeks between the two before the media storm eventually hit. The couple became inundated with calls from the media, whether it be questions about their relationship or begging for an interview. Both PR reps denied requests for interviews or commented on the couple’s relationship. 

As Raina expected, the fans were in a tizzy. Once again, Raina’s fans were super supportive of her relationship with Chris; however, some were cautious for her as they worried that Chris’s reputation as a “womanizer” would tarnish her image somewhat. With Chris, his fans were split down the middle, with some showing support, while others proceeded to throw hate towards Raina’s way. Thankfully, her fans (and some fans of Chris) would immediately step in and call out the haters. 

Nevertheless, Raina would do her best to ignore the vitriol thrown her way and go about her life. She finally got the man of her dreams, and no one was going to mess that up. She would continue to focus on Moulin Rouge, which was her top priority, and not focus on any negativity. 

Also, Raina’s dad was coming into town for his birthday and see the show. She was excited to see him as he mostly stayed up in Long Island. He was not one to venture into the city very often.

After declining Raina’s offer to drive him herself or have her driver bring him, George opted to drive into the city. It was rather odd to Raina, considering that her father hated having to drive on the freeway. But she shrugged it off and deemed it a good thing that her father was getting out of Long Island for a while. 

However, Raina could not put it past her that something was off with her dad.

“What do you mean?” Chris asked Raina as he sat on her couch watching television.

Raina sat down next to Chris. He noticed she kept looking down at her cellphone. “My dad just sent a text, saying he will meet us at the restaurant.”

Chris was puzzled. “Yeah, so…”

“So, my dad doesn’t know how to text. He’s not a texter. Texting and George Morrison do not go hand-in-hand. What gives?” Raina wondered in distress. “Did you teach him how to text?”

“No,” Chris responded, trying to hold back his laughter. “Come on, Raina, he was bound to learn how to text sometime. This a good thing. That way, you guys can text each other now.”

Raina merely shrugged her shoulders. “I guess.”

“You’re very cute; you know that, right,” Chris stated, leaning over for a kiss, which she gave willingly.

Unfortunately, two hours later, Raina was back at it with worrying. “Ah-ha! Look at this new text, Chris. Read what it says. Go on, read it!” she ordered and handed Chris the cellphone.

Dad: We made it in safe, but rather late. Now at the hotel. We are going to eat in and call it a night. We’ll see you tomorrow. Love you.

“Oh wow,” was all Chris said.

“We? Who the fuck is this ‘we’ my dad is referring to, huh?”

Chris handed Raina back her phone. “Raina, you know your dad has been dating. He is not Casanova, but he goes out occasionally. I thought you had gotten over your resistance about your dad dating again?” 

“I try to, but it is hard. It is hard to imagine him with another woman that isn’t my mom. I know she would want him to be happy and not alone. But…”

When Chris saw Raina begin to cry, he immediately engulfed her into his arms and held her while she cried. Chris could never understand Raina’s pain of losing a parent, but he would do his best to support her in that moment and every moment after. 

“I miss her all the time, Chris,” Raina managed to squeak out.

“I know you do, darling. I know,” Chris said while continuing to hold her and stroke her hair tenderly. 

“It has been nine years since mom died, and I just can’t get over it. That night was so fucked up. If we had demanded the paramedics take her the first time they came, then she might have…”

“Raina, you can’t do that to yourself. You can’t play the what-ifs game,” Chris consoled. He has had this talk with Raina before. She always replayed that night over and over about what could have been done to save her mom. “I may not have known your mom very well, but I do remember the one time I did talk with her. It was when you sang with the Boston Pop Orchestra back in spring of 2010. Both your mom and dad were there, along with my mom and me. I remember the look on your mom’s face when you began seeing. Marie was in such awe and was crying. She looked so proud, Raina. She told me that no matter what, you would always be her little girl. That goofy little girl who would rather spend time in her room playing the guitar or keyboard and writing down song lyrics. She is with you all the time, Raina. She’s never left you.”

“It still sucks, though,” stated Raina and wiped away the tears with her sleeve. “Okay, I’m tired of crying.” She took a deep breath and retreated to the bathroom to wash her face.

If her dad were dating, then she would be supportive. He deserved to have someone by his side. It was not fair for him to spend the remainder of his life alone. Raina decided to view it as George’s way of honoring his late wife by living his life to the fullest. It is what Marie would have wanted.

Fun story time? Also kinda links with that ask game i did yesterday?

Quick lil background. As a kid, i was very much a Tomboy, so dressing up in boys clothes 99% of the time. The other 1% was a week of every year when I'd try and wear a dress to 'fit in'

Anyway.

So yesterday i was looking through some old pics from when i was like, 7-11, and you can 100% tell that in those pics, i look like a boy. No question about it.

I was always very Masc as time went on, especially from when i was 11, i accidentally had my hair cut really short. (Which in turn made me look like one of the lads)

Now, at this time i had no fuckin idea what being LGBTQ+ meant, never heard of it, but in some way i was self homophobic? I'd always hate myself for looking like a guy. I'd get judged so bad, even got thrown out of a shop once (whilst i was with my parents)

So as time went on, when i was about 13? I was like, shit, started crushing on girls, got my hair cut real short again, only then did i realise i might be Bi. Fell out with a friend over it. So i think that also made me be a bit more homophobic to myself because no one accepted me, so i didnt.

Again, as time went on, i began learning of the LGBTQ+ community, figuring out which label suited me. I probably changed my label so many times, which in turn got me a bit of hate "i thought you said you were..." or "make your mind up!" Etc. You get the point.

There was a time where my group got to be a lil big, there was probably 6-8 of us instead of the normal 4. I was late to school i think, and one of these people came over to me telling me about some sly comments a 'friend' had made. This person had been questioning if i was trans, which is completely fine, but they were doin it negatively, which is not. They were also questioning whether i was actually what i said i was (at the time i found that Pansexual suited)

It was to the point where i did not feel welcome, so when it came to my 'label' i kept quiet. I wasnt happy with who i was so... I wasnt the only one but i feel i was the first to be very open about it (AND PROUD-- fuck the haters)

At school i was very flamboyant (extremely camp) so there was no doubt that i was gay, now i used gay as an umbrella term cuz i didnt have a clue what i was.

It was only like, a few months ago did i start looking and realising what i might be. I mean, I'm still unsure of my 'label' but ive got a more solid idea.

I'm a Non-Binary Pansexual. And my pronouns are They/Them.

This seems to be the most accurate term i can give myself atm. It could change.

So basically, the short story is, I looked back on some photos that basically confirm what I've been questioning all along.
