I just saw a video of ermacs brutality where he shrinks his opponent to like the size of a Barbie doll and it got me thinking- imagine the Wu-shi academy boys- like Johnny Kenshi, Lao, raiden, and Lou, run into ermac and of course reader so also fighting alongside the boys but then ermac shrinks reader- and before they can get ermac to change her back he disappears so now they’re just stuck with tiny reader- I can just imagine like they all have to take turns helping tiny reader out.
a sizeable problem
a/n: what's up guys, did you miss me
pairing: kenshi takahashi x gn!reader
warnings: not proofread
you sit in the medical room, head in your hands and embarrassment creeping up the back of your neck as Liu Kang struggles to keep in his laughter
if you concentrate hard enough you can hear Johnny Cage laughing outside and then the slap of Kenshi’s hand across the back of the actor’s head to get him to stop laughing
Raiden and Kung Lao stand in the room next to Liu Kang, Kung Lao explaining the story with gusto and a sort of rushed pace and Raiden filling out the details of what had happened
while you and the others were in the Living Forest, you had run into Ermac, who shrunk you in size and then run off when they realized they had no chance against you and the other Earthrealm Defenders
it had ended with Raiden carrying you in his hands while Johnny struggled to contain his laughter
and now, you’re just plain embarrassed, wondering how you could even let something like this happen in the first place
you hadn’t even seen Ermac’s spell coming toward you, too focused on how your head spin with exhaustion as you tries to get up from one of his earlier attacks
Liu Kang furrows his eyebrows at you, hand moving forward as if to pat your shoulder before he remembers that you’re about the size of a rat now
instead, he uses his pointer finger to gentle tap your shoulder and try to reassure you that he will consult with Geras to help bring you back to size
for now, he tells you to accompany the others until he can fix your problem, and he turns to Raiden, who nods and holds out his palm for you to step into
you stand up from the medical cot and step into Raiden’s palm, and he holds you awkwardly in his palm as Liu Kang gives you a slight nod and then leaves, sliding open the doors to the medical room and revealing a concerned looking Kenshi and a slightly bruised Johnny
the both of them walk into the room and as Kenshi talks to Kung Lao about what the plan going forward was, Johnny walks up to you and holds out his own palm, saying that he wants to try something
scowling at him, you growl that you don’t want any part in his antics, but he just smiles at you and says that it’s just a harmless thing he wants to try out
you glance up at Raiden before looking back to Johnny and grimacing, stepping into the actor’s palm
he raises his palm up to his head, urging you to step onto his hair, and you hesitate for a moment before moving forward, kneeling down onto the soft bed of strands so that your butt fits snugly between your ankles
your hands grip onto his hair for balance, and you watch as Johnny pulls out his phone and tells you to smile as he takes a selfie
you do no such thing and instead scowl at the camera, still irritated with your entire situation, but the actor tells you to have a little fun as he starts to walk out of the medical cot, the others not too far behind as they witness the spectacle
it’s not the most comfortable of situations, but it could be much worse you suppose, the views were really grand up here and whatever product Johnny uses to wash his hair was actually quite nice to smell
Kenshi looks to you and asks if everything was okay, and you shout back that you were okay, that it was actually kind of nice
Johnny retorts saying that he knew it was a good idea, and you frown at him, tugging at a strand of his hair roughly and listening to him yelp
his hand reaches up to rub at the back of his neck, and he says that yeah, he deserved that
behind you, you can hear Raiden and Kung Lao following closely behind, and the slight snap of a camera, no doubt Kung Lao taking pictures for evidence or blackmail
you ignore the both of them and simply watch as Johnny turns around the corner to reveal the dining hall
he piles food onto his plate as do the others, and he sits down, reaching his palm up once more for you to step on, and he brings you down to the table
stretching your legs, Kenshi has taken an extra plate, the small salad one and has put on small amounts of whatever dinner the monks were serving today
Kung Lao brings over a cup of water, telling you to wash your hands, and you grimace at the thought of having to eat everything with your bare hands
but you supposed that they wouldn't have utensils for rats here at the Fire Temple
washing your hands in the cup, you shake off the water droplets and walk over to your food, sitting down cross-legged as you grab onto a few grains of rice and start to eat
dinner is no different other than that, the four of them laughing at each other, telling jokes and stories of their times in the real world
it’s a bit more difficult for you to chime in, your voice sounding more like squeaks rather than actual words, but dinner still managed to remain fun enough for you
you can feel your entire body relaxing as you eat, and you grimace when you realize how hungry you were, when was the last time you had eaten?
this morning was all about greeting Kenshi and the others to the Fire Temple and then training initiates all day, you hadn’t had the time to eat breakfast or lunch
when your plate empties of food, Kenshi silently plates some more in front of you from his plate, and you hope he can feel how grateful you are as you grab onto the handfuls of food in front of you
as Kung Lao finally polishes off the last of his food, Kenshi holds his palm out for you, telling you to sleep at his place tonight
Johnny protests, but Kenshi sighs and elbows him in the ribs, saying that he was the only one who even had fabric that could act as a blanket for you
the rest of them grumble but agree, and you step unto Kenshi’s awaiting hand, mumbling underneath your breath that you could handle a few bugs on your own
the swordsman only smiles at your words and holds you gentle in his palm, slightly curling his fingers for you to grab onto so that you don’t lose balance
Kenshi bids goodnight to the rest of them, and they all shout goodnight, no doubt Kung Lao about to rope them into something ridiculous before they all went to bed for the night
the walk back to his room is silent besides the buzzing in the air, but you don’t mind, simply enjoying the ride as Kenshi finally makes it to his room
it’s modestly decorated, the only sign of living being the slippers by the doorway
Kenshi toes off his shoes and puts on the slippers before walking over to the bedroom and telling you to behave as he grabs his sleepwear
you cross your arms and roll your eyes, of course you would behave, you weren’t Kung Lao nor Johnny for god’s sake
the bathroom door slides shut behind him, and you sigh and flop back onto the bed, closing your eyes and bemoaning to yourself about your bad luck
you almost miss the sound of buzzing, and you jolt up to your feet when you find a mosquito the size of your head barrelling towards you from across the room
your hands reach to the sides, drawing out your weapon, and slash at it, hoping to try and intimidate it away from you
it only buzzes maniacally, flying off to the side and just barely missing the tip of your blade as it charges back in
stepping backward, you grit your teeth and clash with the bug, irritated and annoyed that such a small problem had now been amplified by your small size
it charges toward you one more, like a bull on a mission, and you dart to the side, bring your weapon down and slashing off its wings, sending it smashing into the fabric of the bed
the bug squeals bloody murder at you as you walk up and cut off its head, and the slight amount of blood it had drinken before stains a small red dot onto Kenshi’s sheets
hopefully, he wouldn’t mind too much
right on time, the swordsman steps out of the bathroom, steam rolling out of the room as he dries his hair with a towel, wearing nothing but a loose shirt and some boxers
he asks if anything had happened, reaching the edge of the bed and holding out his palm, waiting for you to walk onto it so that he didn’t accidentally crush you with his size
you wipe your blade and sheath it, huffing and walking over, saying that a mosquito had given you a bit of trouble but that it had been handled
Kenshi hums and walks around the room, going to one of the drawers and feeling for the handle before pulling it open
his hand slowly glides through its contents until he finds what he’s looking for, a lighter, and he closes the drawer and walks over to the corner of the room
an incense burner sits there quietly, and Kenshi carefully lights it, placing the lighter on the nearby nightstand and mumbling that this should take care of any mosquitoes
you sigh and thank him, and he smiles and says no problem, placing you down on the nightstand with the lighter and opening up the drawer, revealing a plethora of blindfolds and grabbing a handful and placing them down gently onto the wooden surface you stand on
he tells you to make yourself comfortable, Cage had bought him too many anyway, and you nod in understanding, grabbing onto two at a time and forming yourself a makeshift bed
it’s a lot more comfortable than you would’ve thought, Johnny of course had spared no expense and had bought a ton of silk blindfolds for him
Kenshi tells you good night and gets underneath the covers of his bed, lying flat on his back and evening out his breathing
in the quiet of the night, buried underneath too many blindfolds, you stare at the ceiling, hands holding on tightly to the blindfolds
the murmur of Kenshi’s voice cuts through the silence as he asks if you can’t sleep as well, and you hum in agreement, saying that a lot of thoughts were just running through your mind right now
he chuckles and turns onto his side to face you, even if he couldn’t see you right now, and he asks what you’re thinking about
you’re quiet for a moment, turning around in your makeshift bed as well to face him, and you say that you just feel a bit powerless so small, and you hated feeling this way, hell you could barely handle a mosquito earlier and you can’t even do anything except wait until Liu Kang found a way to make you your regular size again
he frowns at your reasoning and says that you’re not powerless, that you’re the strongest out of all four of them
a slight bitter laugh escapes you as you say that you couldn't even get around earlier without riding on top of Johnny’s head
Kenshi sighs and tells you to come over to him, and you grimace before sliding off the silk blindfolds and walking over
he settles onto his back, patting at his chest for you climb onto, and you do so, sitting on the fabric of his shirt and moving with the rise and fall of his breath
his voice rumbles through you as he tells you sincerely, that right now, it’s okay to ask for help, that you were at a disadvantage and that there is no shame in having someone to aid you
he wishes he had learned the same lesson earlier, perhaps he wouldn’t have such a large rift with his family if he had simply asked them for help and explained his plan to dismantle the yakuza
Kenshi continues before you can protest, saying that you are one of the most powerful people that he knows, small or not, that most in this situation would not handle it so well
but you, you took it gracefully, albeit a bit annoyed, but gracefully, even adjusting to the sudden dangers of being so small
a more disoriented person wouldn’t have been able to fight off the mosquito, and besides, you had been working too hard lately, it was time to let Kenshi and the others do a little more work and let you relax
you had stayed at the Fire Temple to help aid Liu Kang, and it was obviously taking a toll on you
sighing at him, you know that he’s right, that the whole reason you had never seen Ermac’s spell coming was because you were exhausted, running around left and right, completing errands for Liu Kang and training the initiates from dawn to dusk
Kenshi quirks a brow at you, knowingly smirking at you, and you slap lightly at his chest, but it holds no malice
after a short moment of silence, you thank him, and he hums quietly, saying that he owed it to you, especially after you had helped him so much back when he was blinded by Mileena
you stand up to get back to your makeshift bed, but he tells you to stay, he was a pretty still sleeper, you wouldn’t fall off
and you hate to say it, but it was rather relaxing to lay on Kenshi’s chest, so you agree and laydown, staring at the ceiling
it’s warm, soft, and before you know it, your eyes have shut as you curl up on Kenshi’s chest
light hits your eyelids, and you groan, turning onto your side and burying your face into something warm and soft, gripping onto the fabric of Kenshi’s shirt to stay enveloped in his warmth
his arm wraps around your shoulder tighter, and you hum in content at the feeling before something clicks in your brain
weren’t you small right now?
you crack your eyelids open, finding your face buried into his chest, your legs tangled with his, and his arms wrapped around your body
warmth immediately flare in your body, setting your face on fire as you realize just how intimately close you were to the swordsman
at some point in the middle of the night, the spell had worn off
maybe you could sneak your way out of his arms, and that he hadn’t noticed yet, and you slowly try to pull yourself away from his damningly soft and warm chest
Kenshi asks if you’ve woken up yet, and you flinch at his words, cover blown, and he only laughs at your reaction, tugging you in a bit closer
he hums, saying to just stay in his arms for a few moments longer, and you don’t react for a moment, before sighing and scooting in a bit closer to him
you would have to thank Ermac the next time you see him

So recently I started a new, ninjago themed playthrough of my beloved Cult of the Lamb and it has led to some very funny things
Kai got that quest line thing where you make another follower eat poop 2 times then imprison them then kill them and it was targeted at Garmadon. Cannon.
They are friends :D
My wife <333 (she fits as Leshy so well!)
Yea that fits
Green cousins got drunk then Wu died of old age and they immediately started fighting. I broke them up and they fought again. Repeat 2 more times. This has got to be the most cannon thing that has happened
On one of my runs I ended up with the ax and a x2 attack speed buff and it was so overpowered cause I could hit hard as fast as I could click. The next run I ended up with 7 demons. This game is great!
Don't have pictures of it but I have begun breeding followers. Zane and Pixal made Minipix and then I bred Cole and Jay (I was NOT intending to keep the egg I just needed some yolks and they were compatible) but then they gave me my first golden egg so i made Joel the usher robot from the nightmare love triangle in season 3. Once I get a Geo I will be making the finder childeren :D also I had to wait a while to get Lloyd because I specifically wanted him to be the child of Garmadon and Misako and it took me forever to unlock the mating tent.
And finally: the event my followers (the ones who survived) my followers will forever remember as the great abaabandonment. I'm not actually sure what happened but i think the game might have somehow remained unpaused while I was eating dinner and looking at bedframes. I didn't notice when I got back until I got a notification that The Overlord (what I renamed The One Who Waits aka a follower who is supposed to be IMMORTAL) died. At that point I fucking booked it back and returned to find an absolute disaster
A total of 15 followers died. The only ones who survived were Wu and Garm, the ninja and Morro (aka the important ones). Wu, despite being a disciple, was dissenting. 2 followers had already dissented enough that they ran away and I got a notification that if I didn't fix things FAST then half of my remaining followers would also leave. There were so many corpses. I still haven't recovered. I am so sorry my babies.
I have a spreadsheet of all my followers and all the ninjago characters I plan to make into followers. Top half is good guys, bottom half is bad guys, green is alive and red is dead.
I'm waiting to do the serpentine until after I unlock the snake follower form but in order to do that I have to find all the lore and I have found none of it despite thoroughly beating the game ;-;
Anyway I'm having fun. I'll update with any future shenanigans.

Khaos Reigns (2)
So far, my two biggest complaints about new Mortal Kombat storytelling is the lack of Tomas in Lin Kuei-focused Khaos Reigns and lack of sensible logic behind characters’ choices. This is not really about how characters behave toward each other as this is rooted in the previous game, but how weak is the reasoning that pushes the story forward. Which sadly is how the whole attack on Kuai Liang’s wedding feels to me. We have Bi-Han’s lie
Cyrax: I still cannot believe that Liu Kang capitulated to Outworld. That he agreed to break up our clan.
that has no backing up. A certain time has passed between MK1 and current story mode, right? So if Liu Kang capitulated to Outworld, then logically Outworld forces should showed up in Earthrealm or the Fire Lord would knock on their door to say sorry guys, no more Lin Kuei; something Lin Kuei would be first to know. Even more, since apparently Lin Kuei were asked to protect Earthrealm in dire need in the previous game, something they refused to do (as we were told by Tomas). Liu Kang capitulating to Outworld would be a political change hard to miss. So it is no wonder why Cyrax is not buying it, as this lie makes little sense.
(Personally I think it would be better if Lin Kuei were not “deceived” but simply wanted their independence and supported Bi-Han for this goal alone, while Sub-Zero letting his father die still works fine as the shocking revelation to cast a doubt in Cyrax’s mind.)
Then we have Sektor and Bi-Han acknowledging Cyrax suspecting their deception
but apparently this is not a concerning enough to, you know, not including her in the attack or not giving her the top-technologically advanced armor, if you can't be sure of her loyalty.
Bi-Han said they will be ready when Cyrax learns the truth but as the story goes, there are no backup plans for that scenario. Sub-Zero does not deny he lied or killed his father and I really wonder what he or Sektor expected to happen? Yeah, so much for being ready to deal with the problem they were aware of from the start.
Same with the stealth attack on the wedding. Lin Kuei warriors successfully got unnoticed inside Wu Shi place,
where the wedding was happening. And instead of some of those ninjas quietly opening one of the gates, Sektor was using her guns to destroy the main gate, losing the element of surprise.
A tactical surprise that she and Bi-Han wanted to use it to their advantage.
Not to mention Lin Kuei warriors had no problem with getting past the not-even-so-high walls so it is not like the main gate was so necessary for their army to get inside. Or if they have such great firepower, they should thrown some grenades over the walls or set bombs before frontal attacking. Just saying.
Okay, that could be just Lin Kuei arrogance or testing the armors in battle (something they could anytime anywhere), but one would think a clan that for ages was doing commando-like work for Liu Kang would get the stealth attack correctly. Especially since one of the first things Sektor told us on screen was that Lin Kuei were not trained for Tournaments but for war.
Cyrax is overall a fine character, but for me she lacks an edge the MK9’s male Cyrax had and thus feel, well, meek. The story shows her as a person with a strong moral sense, however Bi-Han literally said to her the mission is to attack Kuai Liang and his clan. Harumi chose to fight back so why is Cyrax so surprised that Lin Kuei warriors were ready to kill her? It’s not part of their missions, she said when attacking her own people to save Scorpion’s fiance/wife-to-be, but for me this shows how much Cyrax is just naive and detached from reality. The previous game showed us that Lin Kuei brothers are ruthless fighters (Bi-Han was ready to decapitate defeated Shang Tsung, Kuai Liang effectively killed his opponents with no hesitate), so Cyrax jumping to rescue a woman that killed her own comrades kinda made me wonder, why she is even that important to Sektor or Bi-Han to be involved with them so close? Like, there is little I can see that could interest Bi-Han or Sektor in her, as she is presented from the start as disrespectful toward her superior and mentor (Sektor) and way more idealistic than any of them is. Literally the first argument she has with Sektor and her criticism about ambush & sneak attack tactics feels a bit off, considering this is what Lin Kuei were doing even as the good guys, presumably for centuries and with full approval of Liu Kang (as was seen in previous game).
Sure, we could say Cyrax is new! She knows no better… but then storyline openly claims she and Kuai Liang knew each other before he left the clan and even were once friends, so it is not like Cyrax just joined the Lin Kuei. On one hand, I understand why NRS went with Cyrax’s personality in such a direction, on another, she feels so un-Lin Kuei, I have no idea why Sektor and Sub-Zero even bothered with her in the first place. Like... what was so special about Cyrax for the whole fuss about her from their perspective?
In all fairness, I’m also a bit confused how MK1 and Khaos Reigns follow the same storyline. In the previous game, Bi-Han was captured by Kuai Liang after the ill-fated mission and presumably imprisoned. Then somehow Lin Kuei was asked(?) to aid Liu Kang in the battle against the sorcerers
so how is that the news of Sub-Zero allying with Shang Tsung is still a secret to anyone if Lin Kuei already made a decision to abbadon Earthrealm in need - story wise, after Bi-Han was defeated by Scorpion and captured? So I’m to believe Scorpion took compromised Sub-Zero to Lin Kuei headquarters like nothing happened, did not mention the whole allying with enemy, then left to honor tradition and dad and joined Liu Kang and some time later he is angry at Cyrax she believed in a not-well prepared lie? Is this me, or did NRS not connect all the dots together between the first game and the additional storyline and kinda every character took damage to intelligence so the story could go from point A to point B?
The relationship between certain characters is frustrating, I won’t lie about it. But I’m much more frustrated by how the logic and consequences of events feel either forced or make little sense. I do not except a brilliant, smart storytelling from a fighting game, but when characters that are supposed to be competent and/or trained for a specific job suddenly share one brain cell - and no one is using it at all - kills a great chunk of enthusiasm I had for Mortal Kombat.
I may not like my fav characters being robbed of their original complexity and yet still enjoying the fact they are part of the storyline. I do however take a great offense when story mode turns them into incompetent idiots just to push plot from point A to point B.
#mortal kombat 1: khaos reigns#mortal kombat#mortal kombat spoilers#bi han#sub zero#sektor#cyrax#lin kuei#mortal kombat worldbuilding#if i should even call this mess like that#cienie's rants#look i can forgive nrs making my loved sub zero bi han into bastard or evil man#but making him an idiot is the crossing line i won't accept#the whole first chapter of Khaos is such a mess#there is so little logical reasoning behind the action#we want stealth attack! so we fucking blow up a door when our people could quietly get inside#we know cyrax will be a problem when truth will come out#so we gave her our super advanced armor and take on mission she is already questioning#so fucking smart move uh-uh suuuuure#we make a lie that makes no sense since liu kang capitulation change the whole status quo and is too big deal to not notice something is of#like if he agreed to break lin kuei he would be already there knocking on their door#something to few months(?) has passed liu kang is still not there to destroy your clan but sure a perfect lie#at this point of story i think tomas stole the one brain cell get super smart and simply get the fuck out of this mess XDDD

TBF Theory: Human and Demons Have A Common Origin
The War of Fading Dusk happened 200 years before the start of Thunderbolt Fantasy, but it overshadows everything that happens in the present. The reason so many magic swords exist is so humanity could fight the demons invading their world. They succeeded, but at a cost--the country of Wan Yu was separated by a vast wasteland full of monsters and divided into Xi You and Dong Li, with no interactions until Shang Bu Huan hacked his way through.
We don't know why exactly the demons invaded, or why exactly they stopped, only that it was a unilateral decision from the Demon King to order a retreat and forbid contact with the human world. The exceptions are holdouts like Xing Hai, Zhao Jun Lin, and Azibelpher who said "fuck that" and kept on doing their thing for various reasons of their own. But given all of the established themes, I'm going to hazard a guess that a major twist in S4 will be the reveal that humans and demons have a common origin, and/or the human world and demon world were originally one and the same, just like Xi You and Dong Li were once one nation.
Humans and demons are different, but they're not that different--while demons come in a wide variety of shapes, at least some of them are humanoid, and we know the two races can interbreed with each other. In real life, that usually implies some degree of relation or common ancestor, but this is a fantasy world where magic exists, so all bets are off. Nevertheless, Lang Wu Yao's existence demonstrates that it is in fact possible for humans and demons to produce viable offspring, so I wouldn't be surprised to learn that they aren't as different from each other as we've been led to believe.
And I think Azibelpher knows this, because why else would he fuck around with Ling Mo Yan in the first place, and why is he so interested in his son? Why did he defy the demon king's orders and interact with the human world--sure, it was for the lulz, but I doubt that's the only reason. We may not know the full extent of his plans, but Azibelpher has an agenda, and unfortunately for poor Lang, he's right in the middle of it. (Like every Urobuchi villain, Azibelpher has an obsession with fate, destiny, and chessmastery; he may or may not be winging it, but he's got something particular in mind.)
This would also explain something that's puzzled me about S3 on rewatch, which is to say that it sure seems like Azibelpher deliberately sends Shang Bu Huan back in time to the Wars of Fading Dusk to meet Bai Lian and learn the secret behind the magic swords: they were either ordinary swords carried over from another world that gained unexpected abilities as a result of the transfer, OR were forged specifically for that purpose in a location that transferred from another world (Bai Lian's estate). They weren't divine gifts from the gods, they were just one poor confused guy from another world making the best of a bad situation. You know, the sort of thing anybody would do in that position.
(But why does Azibelpher want Shang to know this? What purpose does it serve? And it can't possibly be a coincidence, not when Juan Can Yun, who was right there when Azibelpher interrupted the three of them, gets left behind. What is he planning?? TBD.)
Given the theme of duality as well as the theme that things that are of both worlds have special powers, it's not hard to imagine this information being used in some fashion in future installments. There's already a few hints of it--the "blade whose existence is beyond reality" that Huo Shi Ming Huang claims is the only thing that can kill him, and there's Lang himself, a child of both worlds--and probably more we don't yet know about. Certainly, the trailer and promotional materials for S4 seem to imply that Lang's voice is somehow the key to everything.
Perhaps once upon a time, humans and demons and/or their worlds were the same, and perhaps there are those who would like to see that again, even as there are plenty who would prefer to keep them separate. (Can you imagine Xing Hai's reaction when she finds out??) If that's not as least some of the politicking going on in the demon world in S4, I'll be shocked.
Just as I think Xi You and Dong Li will be reunited before the end, I think the same will be true on a much larger scale for humans and demons as well, though whether that means a literal merger or a metaphorical one is not yet clear.
#thunderbolt fantasy#wuxia fantasy puppet epic#thunderbolt fantasy meta#two months before s4 means plenty of time for wild speculation!

Were the Silent breaks Part 1
Lego Ninjago Master of Spinjitzu was created by Michael Hegner and Tommy Andreasen the owners of the series.
This story was inspirert by justbirdie, Huge thanks to them.
I do not own Ninjago
This is my first story hope you like it.
__________________________________
It's been 6 months since the defeat of the crystal king and his minions, peace is once again back to the people of Ninjago, all thanks to the brave heroes. After the defeat the people of Ninjago demanded that the mayor stop hunting the ninja and after some talking the mayor finally agreed to let them go. People have already started to rebuild the city again while our heroes are still fighting evil, even with the bigger threats gone there are still bad guys out there that need to be stopped.
We continued the day with the ninjas arriving back at the monastery on a calm night after stopping a bank robbery.
Jay enters the living area with a huge smile, Nya not too far behind.
"Another day rescued by the ninja" He fist pumps the air while jumping up in the air in his excitement.
"Relax dude, it’s just a robbery" Cole rolled his eyes at his friend's stupidity.
"Right, ~but~ we still beat the bad guys," Jay replied back as he sat down on the couch.
"You missed my point dude," Cole said bluntly, shuffling forward and plopping down.
Zane came in smiling at his two brothers arguing. "Some things never change" he thought.
"After everything that has happened to this city, you think they would learn a lesson" Said Lloyd, annoyed.
Looking at his little brother with sympathy Kai snickers. "We could've saved the world another hundred times, I doubt they would've learned" He crossed his arms.
"Yeah.. well" He punched Kai's shoulder lightly "It would be nice if they did''
"I'm proud of you all" Wu entered the room with Garmadon. (He got turned back to human after the crystal king was defeated. P.S I know that's not what really happened but it’s my story so I go at it =D)
Everybody turned towards the two."Even when the odds were against you, never stopped you from fighting"
"It’s our pleasure," Lloyd replied.
" I don't know about you guys but I am starving" Jay began patting his belly.
Cole gave a big smile. "Then you are in luck, cause it’s my turn to cook" He said with pride.Jay's face seemed to lose all color.
"Oh Nooooo" Cole looked coffended at Jay’s answer.
"What you mean Oh No!?
""No big offense man…" Jay knew he was gonna regret this, but it had to be done or he would die.
"Your cooking can be a little……bad" Jay scrambled behind the couch.
It became quiet as all eyes were on Cole.
"It's not that bad!!" He offered.
"You literally broke Zane last time," Nya replied.
There was a split second of silence, then the whole room broke into laughter, even the two masters themself.
Cole crossed his arms as he turned around mumbling something about his recipes being appetizers.
After a few minutes of laughing and making sure the master of earth didn't kill the master of lighting, Kai went beside Cole, pulling his arm over his shoulder as he led him into the kitchen.
"Come on, we'll cook together," Kai said.
Even though Cole loved to cook his favorite recipes, Kai's style of cooking was good old homemade meals, instead of big fancy meals like Zane likes, his meal was simple but delicious. If Cole had to give up cooking he would be happy Kai was the one taking over, next to Zane of course nobody could beat Zane's cooking.
"Fine," Cole said, while Kai gave him a smile as they entered the kitchen.
"Okay, dude" Pulling out a cooking book he turned to Cole. "Let's start"
A few minutes later they began to cut vegetables, while Kai was cutting some carrots. If he had looked an inch to the side he would see Cole looking at him with worried eyes.
When the crystal king was finally defeated and things began to calm down in the city for some random reason the other startet to wonder about Kai, when something bad happens.
It wasn't that he was acting sad or heartbroken. No, he was acting far too casual, maybe alittle angry and silly but that was normal. From different moments in his life, from catastrophic mission to losing someone, he'd shrugged off almost any concern the others showed towards him, simply stating that he was fine and began making sure the others were okay.
But to them it wasn't…. normal.
After everything he had encountered, especially after they lost Nya to the sea.
One would expect Kai would be devastated and heartbroken, with Jay he had locked himself in dr Julian's old tower to mourn her death even Lloyd quit the team to be a window cleaner because he was scared. The two explain it was never the same without her. Kai's reaction however shocked them, he wasn't mourning her sacrifice at the blacksmith with his parents, he had in the start but it didn't last long. Nya's death had effectet him that was true but not in the way they had first anticipated, and interaction between Kai and Jay had brought out a new view.
It really had them all thinking back all the time anything tragic happened to them, Kai was almost always there for the others, whether it was during the night or day, he was always there to lend a shoulder to lean on or an ear to listen to.
But it also raises the question.
Who checked on Kai?
Not once could anybody ever recall talking with Kai or if he was okay after missions, the few times they did were mere small moments. He had almost always denied their support in any way possible and in due time they thought he was just being stubborn or thinking he was telling the truth so they never really brought it up.
Everybody wanted to ask him but hasn’t found the time and dare they admit courage to ask.
"Once you're done cutting the onions could you make the sauce?" Kai's voice startled him, interrupting his thoughts.
Blinking a few times Cole hesitated. "Y..Yeah, dude" Dark brown eyes flickering away momentarily before returning to his task.
×××××Time Skip×××××
After 30 minutes of cooking, Cole finally gathered his courage.
"Hey Kai" He started carefully as he placed the last plate on the table.
"Sup, dude" Kai replied happly, not taking his eyes off the stew he was steering.
Taking a deep breath and straightening his body slightly.
"Do you…." He hesitated. "Regret joining the team?" He asked.
Kai froze at the question, Cole couldn't withhold a wince as he heard Kai's neck crack as he turned to look at him.
"Maybe this was a mistake?!. Maybe I should've just kept quiet? Maybe it wasn't the right time" Cole thought as Kai kept staring at him.
"What?" Kai asked.
"I just wondered" He ran a hand through his hair. "I asked everybody else and I wanted to hear your answer" A small lie, but he had to make up something to cover his tracks.
Kai hesitated for a moment.
"Look.. you don't have to anw-"
"I'm not completely sure," Kai interrupted.
He turned off the stove then went to lean on the counter. Kai sighed, running a hand through his hair as he stared at his boots.
Cole sat slowly as he waited for Kai to tell him.
"To begin with, I joined this team to save my sister," He began.
"But after that… I followed the path of a ninja" Kai managed a strained smile, crossing his arms
"I will admit. It was a crazy time" Kai snickers. "But I had a blast. All those adventures and all those battles we had the friends we made along the way, I would never trade for anything else" Kai looked at Cole.
"However" His smile fell. "We also had alot going on, bad things" "It made me wonder if it was worth it"
He averted his eyes to look out the window."Was it worth all the pain? There were times when I wanted to quit the team, a part of my brain told me to just take Nya back to the blacksmith were it was safe and forget this whole mess and live our life like before"
"Why didn't you?" Cole asked.Kai looked back at Cole with hesitance.
"There was more need here," He replied.
Cole was left speechless, Kai however, was uncomfortable and turned back to the stew.
"Let's get this done before Jay starts fussing over us," Kai said, his happy spirit gone.
"S..Sure" Was the only reply Cole gave.
×××××Time Skip×××××
It was around dinner time and everybody was enjoying eachothers company alongside the meal Cole and Kai made.
"Mmmmm" Jay stuck a mouthful of food in his mouth. "This so good"
"Indeed" Zane gave the two chefs a smile. "Thank you dear brothers for this meal"
"Your welcome man," Kai replied. "But I couldn't have done it without this man" He bumped into Cole.
Cole smiled at him.
Suddenly a phone broke that moment, Kai suddenly stood up looking guilty .
"Sorry. Must be my dad" Waving his phone, he left the room.
A silence took over. But that silence was quickly interrupted by Lloyd who looked uncomfortable as he asked.
"What you think Kai meant?"
Cole nearly choked on his drink. He put it down as he coughed.
Nya leaned over and patted Cole on the back to help him.
Cole recovered and said, "How did you know?!"
"I was passing by" Lloyd said guiltily, he hadn't meant to eavesdrop on their conversation, it was an accident.
Cole was quiet as the other turned to him confused.
"Cole, what is Lloyd talking about?" Nya asked, worried there was something wrong with her brother.
He didn't get much time to think before Kai rentered the room, still on the phone.
"Okay dad, I'll be out soon" He hung up the phone and looked at his second family with a sorry expression.
"Sorry I gotta cut my dinner short" He told them.
"What's wrong brother?" Nya Ask.
"Nothing to worry sis. Dad just told me, he's here to tell me something, " He replied.
"I'll be back soon" He then left again.
They waited until they heard the door close then turned their attention back to Cole.
"Cole"
Cole didn't know if he should, but in the end the others would find out one way or another.
So with a deep breath he told them what Kai told him. To say shocked was an understanding, but there was also confusion, after a few minutes of silence everybody tried to find out what to do with this information.
"I mean yeah I get the dude" Jay began rubbing his neck. " But even that doesn’t explain much doesv it"
"No it doesn’t" Zane replied.
"So what do we do?" Lloyd asked.
"I don't know," Cole said.
"Maybe we can look in his room?" Jay suggested.
"ARE YOU CRAZY!!" Everybody yelled at Jay.
Each ninja knew Kai didn't like people in his room, and they respected that, alongside the fact that Kai would lose it if anybody did try to enter his room.
"Jay, you know Kai hates it when people enter his room" Nya said, sounding very warily.
"I know, but what other option do we have?" Jay replied back as he was already making his way to the sleeping quarters.
"JAY!" The other followed after Jay, while the masters stayed behind.
"Dude this is a bad idea" Cole said. "We should just wait for Kai to return then ask him
"They stopped by Kai's bedroom door, while Jay went for the door handle.
"Listen dude. I want answers as much as you do" Lloyd began.
"But this is not the way," He said angrily.
"It's worth the risk" He said as he opened the door and stepped in, the others following him.
The room wasn't messy as they had expected. It was very simple compared to the others who either had a big television or huge bookshelf or alot of decor. Kai's room had no television or bookshelf, his room contained a medium window with red curtains, on the windshield was some few pictures and a simple plant. In the room was also a simple desk, two small shelves above the bed with a few books, beside the bed was a small desk with two cabinets and a wardrobe, a small light was giving a soft glow to the room.
"I really thought the room would be filled with pictures of Kai," Jay joked.
"Atleast, it’s not as messy as yours," Jay '' Cole replied funny.
"What you mean? It’s not that messy!!" Jay yelled.
"Have you seen it dude!" Cole rolled his eyes. "I never seen anything like it"
"Guys don't lose focus" Lloyd interrupted looking out the door to make sure Kai wasn't returning.
"Okay" Jay started to look around. "If I was Kai, where would I hide stuff?"
"Well find it!" Lloyd was getting worried.
From the corner of his eye he noticed a loose plank. "Bingo" He bent down and pried it open to reveal a small room with some few items, among them was a book.
"This most be it guys!" He yelled triumph.
"Okay let's see" He didn't get to open it before it was snatched from his hands.
"HE-" He turned to yell at whoever took it from him but shrunk down when he was met with Kai's furious face, he didn't even hear him enter, Jay noticed the others had their head down in shame behind Kai.
"Found anything good" He growled.
"Yoooy d..dude" Jay got up.
The others looked at eachother before exiting the room leaving Jay with a furious Kai.
"Briefing Room. Now" He pointed at the door, Jay felt small at the gaze Kai gave him.
"Okay I can exp-" He tried.
"Save it Jay" His voice startled him. It sounded so… angry and so… sad as Kai pointed at the door again, looking more furious.
With a defeated sigh Jay left, he winced at the door slamming hard behind him. As he made his way to the briefing room Jay started to have regret and wished he'd listened to his friends.
Upon entering the room, the others had gathered together talking.
"I knew this was a bad idea," Lloyd said.
"How angry do you think he is?" Cole asked.
"I don't know," Nya admitted. Never had she encountered anything with her brother to that scale.
All eyes turned to the door as both master Wu and Garmadon entered the room with Kai behind them still mad."I think we have some issues to take care of, '' Wu declared calmly.
Before he could continue the alarm sounded.
"NINJA'S" Borg's fantric face came on the big screen, he looked to be hiding under something and everyone could hear the chaos going around him.
"Borg, what's the emergency?" Lloyd answered, immediately going to leader mode.
"A bunch of intruders are attacking borg tower"
"We're on ou-" Before he could finish the screen went black with Borg screaming face the last thing they saw.
"Team let's go" Kai was the first to sprint out.
"We will talk when you return," Wu said.
Everybody nodded then left after Kai.

It's a little short, mostly Kai angst, but the dynamic changed WAY more than I thought it would. I may do something more? I'm a little stuck on writers block, so here's this.
Tw: Injuries (burns)
If his lungs allowed Kai to scream, they would.
Ever since Wu came around, his entire life had turned upside down completely. There should have been signs that Kai wasn't fit for this life: The mention of 'harnessing fire' made his stomach rock, the color red made waves of emotions crash down, envy filled at Jay being deemed blue- So now, with Nya clutched to one side, and the Sword of Fire clutched in his hand, he wanted to scream.
He was fighting a shadow, nothing but pain flooding him as the sword disagreed with him. This was not his sword. Yet, he wasn't letting go, burning seeping past the gloves and coating his hand intensely, an arm wrapped around Nya and holding her protectively. The only thing he could hear his mind screaming was 'let go!' and 'not mine' over and over again.
Too much happened at once, before Kai was face to face with a dragon, hand close to his chest, and Nya behind him. Him and the dragon held a staring contest for a moment, but he simply gave a sigh. "Listen, I know the sword wasn't mine.. But.. Let Nya go and take me. She didn't do anything and has been through enough already." He spoke, not caring for the crazy look Nya gave him. It wasn't until he noticed the dragon laying down, did he actually look and pay attention. Gently, he pet up the dragons snout, sighing as he looked to his hand.
Trembling, his entire arm was, pain spiking through it and stopping short at his shoulder. However, the glove was unharmed, but the tight nature gave away that his hand was badly damaged underneath. A sympathetic and pitiful whine left the dragon, and Kai gently pet him again. Nya approached, before gently undoing Kai's glove to check underneath. Both of them gasped at the sight.
His palm and fingers, where he had been clutching the sword, were swollen and an angry red, almost bruised purple. Blisters were already forming on his palm, this being worse than any sort of burn Kai got in the past. He held back a whine as Nya stretched his hand out to check the full extent of the damage, the dragon giving a quiet growl in sympathy.
"Kai! Sensei!" Cole's voice rang out, filled with concern is it echoed through the fire temple. Nya glanced up at Kai, before shaking her head gently. "I'm taking your place." He said in a hushed tone, with Kai's eyes widening, shaking his head softly in retaliation, but.. After a good moment of Kai listening to his thoughts, he gave a sigh. "Fine, but only after you learn Spinjitzu.. This guys will have to get their dragons first."
----
As silently promised, Kai let Nya don the red gi and started training her. The other three gaave them space and time together, given that Kai never shut up about her helath and safety, so it was an easy excuse. Encouraging words and equally useful tips, Nya was already up to speed on training, which left one finally thing.. Kai settled the dummies that they had near the shop up, his right hand bandaged up from the burns, and having to use his left and non-dominate hand. The dummies weren't exactly training dummies, but they made due. Once set up, Kai turned to Nya:
"Alright. Just like we've practiced. And we only use failure as fuel for our fire!" Kai said, moving backwards and watching Nya. It felt like the worrld stood still as Nya attempted the first time, only to end up face first on the ground. She gave a growl of displeasure at it, sitting up and staring to her spot previous. Kai didn't speak, but that same sentence rang in her mind... 'We only use failure as fuel!'
Standing up again, she went at it backwards faster than she did forwards, jerking around to rush at it again. The fire, it rushed through her veins, warming her entire body, and this attempt felt... Right. It didn't register in her head that Kai was cheering, until she stopped and Kai hugged her tightly. "You did it!"
"I did? I did Spinjitzu?!" Nya exclaimed, looking to Kai in clear shock, as he nodded quickly. "I did Spinjitzu!" She exclaimed, hugging Kai tightly as she let the fire calm within her at Kai's cooler warmth. After a few moments, Kai and Nya pulled away from each other, before heading inside the blacksmith shop to wait forthe other ninja, and to pull off their plan..
----
Flame didn't rat them out. None of the ninja noticed that it was Nya that wore Kai's gi, that held the sword of fire, that formed part of the tornado of creation. And after the success of the mission, she stood beside the ninja with pride, praising each other, and praising Kai. Only, she giggled when Kai suddenly appeared in civilian clothing, with the red ninja still beside Jay. "Glad to see you lot are okay."
"Wha.." Jay started, going speechless as he stared at Kai, then looked to 'Kai', and did this multiple times, until the other two caught on, with Cole rolling his eyes. "Ha-ha, very funny, Kai. Get your gi back on." He said, shaking his head softly, before looking to 'Kai' in the gi, and seeing her drop her hood-
"NYA?!"
"But, that should not be possible. If you hold the sword of fire, it would have burnt you." Sensei Wu spoke, cocking a brow upwards in equal confusion. That was, until Zane spoke up: "Kai got burnt by the sword." Holding up his bandaged hand, Nya held up the sword, showing how it wasn't hurting her at all, all while Kai's right hand and arm trembled from nerve shock. "I told you, I'm not the fire ninja. Nya is your master of fire."
Nya held up the sword, and her entire stance, with pride. Air escaped through her nose, as she looked to Kai. "Don't put this all on me. Without your training, I wouldn't have found the fire within. And your dumb action to continue to hold the sword after it violently said 'not you'."
"And I couldn't have done that without sensei pushing me. It still all leads back, you deserve to be a ninja."
----
With this revelation, Kai and Nya went back to the monastery with the rest. Nya wore the red gi, while Kai wore a pair of black pants and a grey sweater, the other ninja had their own gi's on. Nya, Jay, and Cole talked ahead, eah on their own dragons, with sensei riding on Cole's dragon, and Kai and Zane lingering behind on Zane's dragon. The air felt nice, but he still felt oddly light-headed up here counter to on the ground in their village. Still, Zane's quiet was enough company and comforting for now.
Things at the monastery changed quite a bit as well. Since Kai was injuried and not the fire ninja, he was pulled out of training, and Nya took his place instead. Nya and Zane talked with him, so did Cole a bit, but past that, those two practically ignored his existance. much like when they first met. Sensei Wu had Kai training in time, once his hand had healed to the point of usablity, but his arm now had a pretty consistent tremble to it. Grey became his color of choice, and really, he looked out for Nya as much as she could, but it dawned on him quicker than he would have liked:
Nya doesn't need his protection anymore.
This hit hard the first night, moving outside so he didn't bother the others with his choked sobs and sniffles. The second and third day, he couldn't help but feel a little saddened each time he spotted Nya. He had gone from no one, to part of the team, to now the fire ninja's brother. He didn't look for sympathy, despite how many times Zane worried, or Wu talked with him during missions, he just kept on pushing through. Tomorrow was always another day.
----
Lloyd came around.
While the other four had been busy with the serpentine and undoing Lloyd's past mistakes, he was often left on babysitting duty on the bounty with him. He didn't realize how much he missed the annoyancee of little siblings, but man, it felt relieving when it should have been stressful. It dawned on him quickly that the pranks Lloyd was pulling was for attention and playfullness. He liked that.
One day, it became apparent to the other ninja just of this dynamic, when they got back to the bounty to see Lloyd on Kai's shoulders, the smaller trying his best to climb onto the rafters, with Kai helping as much as he could. Pillows were around them on the floor as a safety messure, which came in useful when Kai's right arm stopped holding Lloyd's weight. If Kai's grip wasn't as tight on his left hand, Lloyd could have injuried himself pretty badly, but it was tight, and it stopped Lloyd from full force headbutting the ground.
The cough of Jay clearing his throat caught Kai's attention, his smile dropping as he settled Lloyd down on the pillows gently so he didn't hurt him. He shot a sheepish smile to the group, Jay being the only one to look extremly unimpressed, before he motioned to the map. "I made a bit of a revelation, while you guys were gone." He said, changing the topic swiftly as Zane and Nya eagerly pressed forward. Kai and Lloyd lead them over to the map, before tossing two darts on the screen by Lloyd, a third one by Kai.
"If we go by the pattern of the three tombs already found, and the types, that means the Constrictai and Venomari will be here and here, respectively. The faster we get to them and stop Pythor from releasing them, the better." Kai said, a small smile on his face as he spoke and motioned to the screen when needed.
"This is great! Me and Jay can go check out the Venomari, and Cole and Zane can check out the Constrictai once we get close enough." Nya said, missing how Kai's eyes lit up for a moment at the minor praise. Shortly after that, Kai settled in the coordinats for their distination and set the bounty off. Nothing could change this.
----
Everything could change this. Nya shoved him out of the way of the falling rocks, trapping her and Lloyd in the volcano, despite how desperately he tried to get to protect them. On the bounty, he could only stare with tears rapidly falling down his cheeks as he volcano exploded, bit of magma flying around. He fell into sobs without realizing, even after seeing Nya fly back in a protective fire wall swirled around her and Lloyd.
After she removed her hood, before she could topple over, Kai immediately wrapped his arms around her to keep her upright. Her head nuzzled into Kai's shoulder as he lifted her up into her arms. Tears freely flowed from Kai's eyes as he held her tightly, only becoming apparent off the sniffles by Nya when she sat up from his shoulder, able to stand on her own. "How did you-?"
"I am so sorry, Kai." Nya's words were entirely to broken for Kai's heart, pulling her back into a tight hug and letting his younger sister cry it out for a moment. "You don't have anything to apologize for.. I'm so proud of you and everything that you do.. How did you find your true potential..?"
"Tha's not important right now." Nya mumbled, and Kai accepted it, nudging the red gi with his face and giving a shakey sigh as his worries finally left him. They would all be okay...
The next coming days were much sweeter than Kai expected, Nya and Lloyd constantly wanting his attention or cuddling. This was much to the complaint of Jay, but Nya nearly immediately shot him down each time in favor of doing something with Kai. This put into perspective for all of them how little Kai had actually been seen around the bounty, despite living there with them. Jay actively had to hunt for Nya and Kai if he wanted attention. Cole had an easier time finding Nya for training. Zane knew were Kai hid around, but mostly made sure the three were safe at night.
But, it wasn't just Nya and Lloyd getting their fix. Kai began to come out and around slowly and steadily, helping out more openly. Zane in the kitchen, giving help there while also allowing the other to just talk about anythingand everything he wanted. He did a similar thing to Jay, actually getting to know him a bit more since him and Nya were offically dating, playing video games and Kai actually showing off his gaming skills. And Cole, being able to help in training again, encouraging Cole on and even sparing from time to time.. He felt alive again. He felt like part of the team.

AAAAAAAAAAAA WHY IS GUAN THERE ALREADY ARE THERE TWO GUANS?! …THREE GUANS IF WE COUNT ACTUAL GUAN?
WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE STRANGER, WHAT'S IN HIS NECK, WHY IS HIS HAIR ALL RED NOW, WHAT ARE THESE POWERS AND WHY DOES IT GIVE HEYLIN MAGIC VIBES?! GREEN FIRE? RED HAIR AND GREEN FIRE?!?!!?! DOES HE HAVE WEIRD EYELASHES/EYELINER ON HIS FACE? AND WHAT'S JACK GONNA DO AT THE LAB? HOW DID GUAN (BUT NOT THAT GUAN OR THAT GUAN, THE OTHER GUAN) PUT IS HEAD BACK ON LIKE IT WAS A MILD INCONVENIENCE?! WHAT IS HAPPENINGGGG
Ahem
Good chapter! Great chapter! I'm really, really invested in Jack and the stranger's friendship now. His friend who he almost called "D-…" Not his name… Not even a letter in his name… But his brain is a little fried from what happened last time, and they're in the desert, prime time for brain farts! Jack could've brought back a second soda for him. Not that he'd take off the mask toe drink it, but still, he could've!
Those kids are relentless in their chase, they're really determined to get their friend back! So determined that they missed all the hints and were blindsided and caught off guard once heads started rolling! And things only got more violent and gory from there! For all the kiddy battles and gamey showdowns they've been in, I don't think the Xiaolin monks are built for the type of animosity and violence that these two strangers are about to unleash on everyone right now. Or the powers they're gonna do it with. Are these guys on par with the big players and magic users like Wuya and Chase themselves? Is that glove and the things in advanced tech or secret Shen Gong Wu? Does He-Who-Is-Not-Guan's bracelet work the same way? Does this Guan even have the bracelet or is it with other Guan that's not really Guan? Are the kids going to be okay?
This chapter just leaves me with so many questions!
But I gotta list off some non-question parts that I liked while I'm still coherent! Here: Raimundo: Why is he talking like Clay?! Kimiko: Why did his head just come off?! Clay: Why are you guys not dodging?! LOL! Love those kids!
Guan tried to get his lick back in the more direct way possible and complained about fairness. An eye for an eye, a head for a head, eh?
Whatever Guan tried to do with that glove, it didn't work, because of whoever the Stranger thanked, I guess. I'm confused but the math is starting to math, I think this is one part of the mystery we're going to watch unravel real soon!
And the Stranger is in so much pain that those descriptions made me wince! I hope we get to see his face soon so we get to know how expressive he actually is through all this!
And the ambergris from waaaaay back when Wuya was raiding Chase's lair is finally about to come into play! Now that's what I call a Chekov's gun! I'm going to comb back through the earlier chapters to try and see what other Chokov's guns might be firing off soon! Whatever Keiko's mom did first sure, and those lotus flower petals, and and, um…
I guess I'll wait and see!
Oops! All Guans
Masked stranger has a lot of stuff going on, not the least of which is this tenuous situation he has going on with the monks right now after this reveal. Poor guy, he's been dealing with a lot. Including Jack Spicer.
The dragons are very determined to get their friend back. But now they have to deal with this nightmare. So they're dealing with quite a bit right now. And sadly, yes. They're more used to Xiaolin Showdowns, which have rules and are usually set up as games. Not what fresh hell is going on in this latest fight. They're not quite ready for all out brawls and body horror like they're seeing here.
Many many questions, which shall be answered in their own time I assure you!
They're all such goofballs and I love their collective dynamic. Even if it's still not quite the same without Omi.
That ambergris was always gonna come back into this one way or another! You'll just have to wait and see in what way!
I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter so much! And hope you'll be looking forward to the next one!

Ninjago is weird af. It's a kids Lego show (The first and only one to properly take off, the ones that came after it were cheap knock-offs and were somehow even weirder. Example: Lego Chima, Nexo knights. Nexo was just ninjago but with knights, instead.) That, I'm fairly certain, is still running. The original director and creator of the show left really recently, though, and the shows being left in the hands of new people.
It's obviously a kids show, but like, it could make some serious bucks as an anime tbh. Before the reboot (They changed the animation style after the movie, to make it more consistant? Idk, I didn't like it because the movie wasn't really a ninjago movie. All the characters personalities were fucked up and the show changed to be more like that. Though, I'm biased and prefer the og for nostalgia purposes.) One of the characters had the lesbian eye slit (A guy, btw. He's absolutely gay), one of them was autism coded (I felt it was handled well. Obviously not the best, but well for a kids show.) One of them had anime hair that would've been hell to animate, and this one had almost all the trauma. There's another one with daddy issues who had a whole coming out thing (He was coming out as a ninja but it was very similar to a coming out to a Homophobie parent speech), and one of them is literally the trauma
The run down of the Characters is like:
Kai- The anime protagonist. Dead parents, used to be the main character. Angsty. Distrustful. Angry. Is supposed to represent bravery. He started raising his sister when he was, like, five years old. He used to be a blacksmith. He's the fire guy.
Nya- The sister. The damsel in distress until she isn't. Mechanical mastermind. She's a perfectionist, she's sassy, she's The Girl™ character that you expect from a kids cartoon. I won't spoil who she is.
Jay- One of his first lines was hitting on Kai's sister after she got captured. Literally "Is she hot?" to Kai's face. Kai, like a sane person, told him to back off. Jay is the writers favourite. He gets the girl. His biggest trouble is that he was raised in a junkyard by his parents. He's the lightening guy.
Cole- His mom died. His dad is trying to remake his glory days. He's buff, level headed, and loves cake. He's the defacto leader. He has a scythe as a weapon. He's the earth guy
Zane- Is a massive nerd. He's lovable and he's friendly. He doesn't know much about social cue but he tries his best. He's very awkward. He's different from the rest of the team, but they love him none the less. His whole character arc is learning to be who he is, not being like everyone else. He's a brilliant cook with a cool falcon friend. He's the ice guy
Wu- The in sighting incident for the team. The son of God. Is a really old man who made a child army and is presented as a good guy. The first time you meet him is through him insulting Kai, the main character.
Garmadon- The big bad, he's dramatic. He's theatrical. He's lowkey silly. He's a babygirl. Despite being absent, he wants to be a good dad to his son, but his son is destined to fight him and he doesn't want to make that harder than it needs to be.
Lloyd- A little shit of a child, he is a true menace. Imagine Maui as a child. He's adorable. His biggest crime is stealing candy (And also releasing war criminals, but he didn't mean to so it's ok xx)
Pythor- The sexiest snake villain to be brought into TV. I'm no furry/scaly, but they gave him the sexy/deep/sultry British voice. They intended for that to be the desired effect.
Skales- Pythor's spiritual wife. They're divorced and married and they hate each other and love each other. Later on Skales gets an actual wife and they made her pink and gave her boobs to prove she's a girl lmfao
Sorry, I get suckled into brain rotting about this. It's the nostalgia lmfao
-Heathen
So much just happened at once I don't even know what to say. I'm listening attentively I just am at a loss for words. hey wait is ninjago just a combination of ninja lego. maybe that's super obvious but please understand this is the most I've thought about ninjago before in my entire life and that's not an exaggeration
i'm looking up things for a modicum of context and understanding, and when I looked up nexo knights a fucked up looking book popped up and now I'm thinking about it. what's he doing...why's he there..
anyway! please don't apologize! it's fun to hear people talk about things they're interested in or have significant knowledge about! lloyd is the one character I've heard about, but I couldn't actually tell you where from. I've watched one of the lego movies (the one with the everything is awesome song), but that was forever ago so no clue if he's in that. Also! I love autism coded characters! My mom recommended me a book series saying the main character...hang on I don't remember it exactly. Was said to have aspergers (not my favorite word but I'm referencing the author) as author's word of god? or is it that everyone just picks up on that when reading? whatever it is specifically, the character is at least very easily read as autistic. I haven't read the series myself yet, but I'm very curious to pick it up!
Villains always seem to have a higher baseline of intrigue than other characters, and also a high comorbidity of snakeliness (totally a word, ignore the red squiggle under it saying it's not. it's lying). but also you were right that wife can pink--I'm sorry i can't get over the snakes having human bodies. i understand this is a lego world but they have completely normal ass legs it's just their heads that are snakes. this is. i can't take this seriously that's hilarious
anyway! thank you very much for this plethora of information :). I feel like I have retained very very little of it, but it's still like a 700% increase from all prior knowledge I had of it. i still have no plans to watch any of it myself, but it's fun to hear people talk about things they like!

Pray tell what is the ninjago s10 you wrote in your head 👀
Waaah okay this is a touch of an essay and is kind of full of OCs sorry ???
Anyway it was lame AF to me that the show built up so much hype around the oni and then they were the lamest villains ever like okay they have freaky paralyzing smoke and what else?? They got disintegrated by a tornado of creation this is so lame what.
SO a few things I would go about tweaking, and this is keeping everything up to s9 canon btw not changing things around in there (I have other versions where I tweak that stuff lmao)
So first, Leader of the oni is actually scary as fuck, Queen of the Oni to be exact, yeah that's right the FSM had two moms who are now divorced. I have art of this lady on the blog (Queenie is her usual title) and while she's often seen as just six ft tall an elegant she can get massive sized so thirty feet <3 She's powerful, because she has every kind of magic oni can learn at her disposal and this includes mind control, illusions, transformation, gravity, all that jazz (My essay on how the elemental powers are split between oni and dragon origins is something for another time). Anyway she can p much just paralyze people with her mind if she needs to when she walks into a room.
The invasion just starts with her, because while most of the oni have been hiding away in the departed realm like the show states, she's actually been hanging around in Ninjago for ages. In fact, surprise, she was disguised as the Empress the whole time. Let Harumi find all those books about the oni masks so she'd open a portal and summon Garmadon.
Cept that wasn't Garmadon, it's another oni in disguise, and this is why he's so fucking OOC, except he ditched his post and is now kinda hiding from her.
Hang on I'm getting on a tangent here, ANYWAY she reveals herself to specifically talk to Lloyd and try to get him on her side, because family and all that, and while Lloyd obviously hesitates the Queen is pretty convincing and may also be threatening his friends lives so he surrenders and Queenie activates his oni blood which like, doesn't make him evil but does make him a little more inclined to get into trouble lmao.
And NOW the army comes through, poison oni are the ones setting off the smoke causing paralysis. The ninja are scrambling for a plan and while doing this start recruiting the other elemental masters to help. Detail details, two other things happen. Wu travels back to the first realm to find Firstborne, believing she's the only thing that could stop Queenie. Meanwhile the oni disguised as Garmadon (named Efri) gets found out and forced to travel through the departed realm to find the FSM for help (he finds the real Garmadon along the way and some of the past EMs (including Cole's mom, Jay's birth mom, OG Ice Master, Dr. Julien, and even Morro) (Everyone is here YAY)
More details details, the elemental masters are trying to keep the oni contained, trying to get Lloyd to stop helping Queenie (Lloyd: Guys don't you get it, we wouldn't even have to fight if you'd just LISTEN to us) And big climax everyone gets back from their respective adventures and crashes in the middle (FSM doesn't come back btw he's a bitch who says no my problem and Garmadon tells him to go fuck himself)
Big epic fight montage which eventually cuts back to a 30ft Queenie fighting Firstborne but while they are like, fighting, they are also arguing like a divorced couple and Lloyd is standing there like lmao wait ???? you two seriously just need marriage counseling ARE YOU SERIOUS?
Basically by listening Lloyd figures out that A) Queenie and Firstborne got divorced because of a rift the FSM sort of caused (not entirely his fault but he was the spearhead). B) The war left a lot of scarring on both sides. C) The First Realm looks like SHIT because with the oni gone, so was the balance, causing the land to turn to ruin despite dragons being considered creators they had no idea how to maintain the environment.
Lloyd gets the help of the other ninja, turn into this giant fusion spirit thing just to stop Queenie and Firstborne from fighting and tell them to GET THEIR SHIT TOGETHER YOU TWO ARE HOW GODDAMN OLD TALK SHIT OUT LIKE ADULTS.
So they do. Not everything is fixed but it's a start. Oni are allowed back in the first realm to start fresh (a few stay in ninjago). Lloyd has a lot of new powers to learn how to deal with. A lot of ninja get closure talking to ghosts (yay?)
UUUH The end, I know it's missing some details but summaries and all that.
#scribs speaks#long post#oops#ninjago#s8 and 9 Garmadon wasn't fucking Garmadon not my dilf who the fuck is that

KAI COMING OUT SCENE BECAUSE I SAID SO. (Ft. Kai and Nya sibling behavior tm)
I wanted to this to exist but it didn't so i'm making it exist~
(Also this is my first attempt at writing fanfics i'm sorry if it isn't that good)
----------------------------------------------
[We're going back in time; just about after the first fight with the overlord. The green ninja and his allies have finally ushered in an era of peace.. although, there is someone who is not feeling quite as peaceful..]
[Kai and Nya are in Nya's bedroom. The Master of Fire is restlessly pacing back and forth while his sister watches, sitting on her bed.]
Kai: UGH HOW DO I TELL THEM?
Nya: You know you don't have to right?
Kai: Well, yes, but,,
Nya: But what?
Kai: BUT I JUST, sigh, I just want them to know.
Nya: (annoyed) Then tell them Kai, they aren't going to magically find it out on their own you know.
Kai: Actually, Zane did!
Nya:
Kai: Something, something, nindrioid; something, something he gave me a trans pride pin once :D
Nya:
Kai: Yeah even I don't get it, but hey atleast I got a free pin outta it.
Nya: Then you only have Jay, Cole and Lloyd left to tell right?
Kai: You say it like it's an easy task.
Nya: Oh sorry, I thought the Master of Fire was braver than that.
Kai: I hate you.
Nya: I hate you too <3
Kai: *eyerolls*
*They both chuckle*
Nya: But anyway I remember you were able to tell me rather easily?
Kai: You're my sister Nya, and you were very young when I told you, I knew you wouldn't hate me for it.
Nya: I just told you I hate you.
Kai: *chuckles* Shut up sis you know what I mean.
Nya: *Giggles* Yeah.
Kai: *Sigh* UGH.
Nya:
Kai: What if they hate me what they never play video games with me ever again what if i'm not one of the boys anymore what if-
Nya: Slow down Kai i'm sure that is not going to happen.
Kai: YOU NEVER KNOW??
Nya: I said i'm sure that is not going to happen.
Kai: *falls down on the bed and sighs*
Nya: You know I am this close to picking you up and throwing you in your bedroom.
Kai: THEY'RE ALL IN THE BEDROOM.
Nya: THAT'S THE POINT.
Kai: And no way you can pick me up that easy.
Nya: (annoyed) You want to see me try?
Kai: (confidently) Go ahead.
Nya: *Gets up and lifts Kai like it's no big deal*
Kai:
Nya: You were saying?
Kai: Let's just go to my room, i'll rather come out than listen to you talk.
Nya: Do you want me to drop you?
Kai: I meant to say that I..... can listen to you speak all day sis I love you.
Nya: Better.
*Nya puts him down and they both walk to the ninjas' bedroom*
----------------------------------------------
[Cole, Jay and Lloyd are all in the ninjas' bedroom. Cole is drawing while listening to some music, Jay is bothering Cole and Lloyd is reading starfarer on Kai's bed.]
Kai: Oh all of you are here??
Jay: Yeah Kai what happened?
Lloyd: Yeah did you need us for something? Should I call Zane aswell??
Kai: Nono don't bother Zane but um yeah I uhm.. I wanted to tell- you guys, some-thing.
Nya: *whispering so that only Kai can hear* You can dooo it.
Jay: And Cole take your headphones off!
Cole: *takes his headphones off* (very annoyed) what is it Jay?
Jay: Kai wants to tell us something.
Cole: Oh what's up dude?
Lloyd: Yeah tell us.
Jay: Yeah you're acting very weird man.
Nya: Will you guys let him speak?
Jay & Lloyd: Sorry!
Kai: As I was saying,, I uhh, i'm-
Kai: *sigh* I'm trans.
Cole: Cool dude!
Jay: Wait so you're a girl?
Kai: *laughs* No i'm ftm. Master of Fiyaah is a guy through and through.
Jay: Wow I would've never been able to tell.
Kai: hah yeah.
Lloyd: If you're comfortable saying, can I ask who all know?
Kai: *gesturing to Nya* She does, obviously. Then Master Wu, Zane just knew from the start aaand now you guys.
Lloyd: That's awesome!
Cole: So we don't have to treat you any different right man?
Kai: Yeah dude, the same ol' Kai. Just um, now y'all know i'm trans.
Jay: Neat!
Lloyd: Thankyou for trusting us with this.
Cole: Yeah bro awesome.
Kai: *tearing up but trying to hide it* Thanks guys. Love you all.
Lloyd: *jumps out of bed to give Kai a hug*
*Cole and Jay follow too*
Jay, Cole and Lloyd: We love you too.
Lloyd: Now come on let's have dinner, Zane must've made something delicious.
Cole: Let's hope it includes some cake!
[They all laugh and the other three quickly head for the kitchen (it's Zane's turn to cook afterall!). Kai and Nya stay behind for one last talk.]
Kai: Thanks sis. I actually feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
Nya: You don't have to thank me, you did this yourself.
Kai: *hugs her* I love you so much.
Nya: Love you too. I'm proud of you big bro.
Cole: *yelling from the other side of the hallway* Are you two coming or not?!
Kai: Coming!!
Kai: (to Nya) Now let's go before there is no food left for us.
Nya: *chuckles* Yeah.
[They both leave aswell.]

Okay, there's two ways I can see a reveal happening.
The first is the usual type of angst reveal. It happens during an attack.
Lloyd's hood got caught and pulled off suddenly and everyone saw. Everyone is shocked, confused, maybe even pissed off.
They can't believe it. The guy whose been leading them into battle is the son of their enemy. How? Why? They are very confused. Maybe they feel somewhat betrayed.
Lloyd meanwhile, is on the verge of a panic attack. His secret is out. The ninja hate him now. That last remaining sense of freedom, gone. He's freaking out, tears blurring his vision and panic completely covering his mind.
He runs.
Where? Maybe back to his mech to fly off. Maybe he just goes back home. Or maybe he just runs, as far as he can. Away.
It takes everyone else a few minutes to get over their shock and even then they have no idea what to do. Do they go after him? Get him to talk? Or do they go to find Wu?
What now?
It's Cole who makes the decision, and has everyone head to the warehouse to contact Wu on what to do. And Wu is worried. So he calls Lloyd and convinces him to come to the warehouse.
The others wait. Jay messes with his scarf, Zane starts stress baking, Kai paces, Cole thumps his legs and Nya tries reading.
They don't know what to feel. Wu is the only calm one.
Eventually Kai snaps, and asks Wu. Why is Lloyd a ninja? What's going on? Why is he fighting his dad?
Wu is calm and vague which just riles Kai up more and more.
"Why did you even choose Lloyd!?"
"Because he has the qualities befitting a ninja as you all do."
"Oh yeah, like what? The qualities on being evil?"
Wu raises an eyebrow.
"Tell me Kai, exactly what has Lloyd done to make you against him?"
Kai goes into a spiel but Wu doesn't look convinced.
"Oh? And I suppose that all those are things you've witnessed first hand?" Wu asks but before Kai can say anything,
"No."
It was Zane who spoke. The nindroid looks bothered. And all eyes turn to him.
"We have not seen anything. Everything Kai has said is something we've only heard other people say. We've never witnessed anything, or at least I haven't." Zane hesitates and turns to Wu.
"The only criminal charge Lloyd has is when he jaywalked at 11 years old..."
"Is... Are we wrong about Lloyd, Sensei?" Zane asks and Wu hums and softens his voice.
"If it is any consolation. Almost everyone is wrong about Lloyd." He says and everyone droops.
"Then... what is Lloyd like?" Jay asks and Wu smiles.
"I cannot define Lloyd for him, but I do know that in all my time with my nephew, never once has he shown any signs of evil. And that ive never seen him be himself more than when he is on this team with all of you. If you wish to know about Lloyd, then I suggest you get to know him for yourselves first."
Wu says and right then, the doors of the warehouse creak open. Everyone turns and gets a glimpse of Lloyd. Of the real Lloyd, with his almost terrified expression, and the tear tracks on his face.
And it's then that everyone realizes they've never looked Lloyd in the face before.
They should talk.
———————————
And then there's the second and fluffier option
The reveal happens much later. Firstly, Lloyd grows closer to the ninja as Lloyd Garmadon.
They never had a high opinion of him. Convinced by the amount of hate and rumors that plague him, thinking, naively, that with the amount of hate he gets, it must be somewhat true.
They don't realize just how cruel and unfair people can be when it comes to Lloyd.
That all changed when Jay walks to their table at lunch. Holding his tray listlessly and in complete shock as he just stares at his pile of food.
The other ninja are concerned, but before they can ask what's wrong he speaks.
"I think Lloyd Garmadon just saved my life."
They do a double take and immediately press him for details.
He tells them about how in Gym, one of the light fixtures on the ceiling was hit by an errant dodgeball and fell. It would've squashed him had Lloyd not tackled him outta the way.
The others are immediately worried and he assures them he wasn't harmed. But he is confused.
When he had realized what happened, Lloyd had pulled him up and was flitting around him, looking for injuries, asking if he was okay.
Forget being evil, he looked as if he would start crying if Jay even winced a bit. It was seriously baffling.
Then the gym teacher showed up, and just, gave Lloyd detention? For tackling a student? And Lloyd just drooped and nodded. Just accepting the punishment he very clearly didn't deserve just like that.
Jay says all this, waving his arms about, clear in his confusion. And the others share the sentiment.
They keep an eye out for Lloyd after that. Trying to figure out why he would save Jay. Maybe some tactic? Maybe to make Jay owe him one?
But they just get more confused as they see Lloyd doing absolutely nothing. Just going to school, doing his work, just generally behaving like a normal kid.
What about all the talk about him torturing nerds to do his work? What about him being in a gang? What about him scaring off animals? And being mean to kids?
Absolutely nothing. It's been a few weeks, and nothing happened. The only trouble he seems to get into is when Chen or anyone else picks a fight with him. And even then, he doesn't fight back, and then gets blamed and sent to detention anyway.
Maybe it happens out of school? They ask and spend an entire weekend trailing him around.
They thought they were onto something when he ran off a few guys, only to see that those guys were throwing rocks at a cat and Lloyd immediately began comforting the cat. He dropped him off at the vet and then dashed away. Smiling happily when they took the cat in.
They are very confused. It's Zane who brings up the possibility that Lloyd is actually pretty good and all those rumors are just in fact, rumors and completely untrue.
Kai is disagreeing but Zane pulls up the fact that the only criminal charge Lloyd has ever gotten was years ago when he jaywalked. Nothing else.
They thought it was because his father helped ease his charges, but what if it wasn't that. What if he just didn't do anything.
Jay is quick to agree, seeing as Lloyd saved him. The other three are hesitant, both Kai and Nya have the same stubbornness, and Cole is worried that even if Lloyd is good, his dad would be keeping an eye and they could get in danger.
But Zane convinces them. And they start approaching him.
Jay goes first, determined to thank him for saving him. He approaches him in class, when no one is around, and quietly thanks him for saving him.
And Lloyd just freezes. Looks over at Jay.
"...Your... thanking me?"
"Yes...?"
"...nobody thanks me."
Lloyd has the biggest deer-in-headlighst look ever. Like his whole worldview has been shattered. He was literally just thanked. Something squirms inside Jay.
Jay fumbles and ends up asking if he reads comics and suddenly the two are talking nonstop about starfarer.
He reports to the others on what happened and they try an approach him too. Similar results happen.
And everytime, Lloyd gets that look, like he can't believe someone is just talking to him.
And after a few trials, they think to themselves, okay yeah, Lloyd is good. He's really good.
They can't see him as the Son of Garmadon anymore. He's just a kid who likes comics and has a giant sweet tooth and pets every stray cat he sees. He's just Lloyd.
So when the reveal happens, by accident or by choice, they understand.
So I know there's identity reveal fics about Lloyd. And the others being hesitant but ultimately accepting him.
But wouldn't it be fucked up if, prior to the reveal, the ninja hated Lloyd.
Maybe they don't outright bully him, but they're antagonistic. Like, they mock him or they glare at him. Maybe they like singing that Boo Lloyd song Chen made. Nothing too cruel, but just enough that Lloyd knows without a doubt that they hate him.
Maybe he knows their identities and is so terrified of losing the only other people from Wu and his mom that seem to actually care about him. Which is why he's so adamant on not revealing himself.
Whenever he puts on the ninja gi, it's the only way he can truly be Lloyd and not The Son of Lord Garmadon. And he doesn't want to lose that. That sense of freedom that he doesn't get any other time.
Unfortunately for him, the universe hates Lloyd.

The Beginning of Heatstroke, aka Red's Villain Origin
* crashes down from the ceiling * I HAVE FINALLY FINISHED ONE OF MY 5+ CURRENT WRITING PROJECTS! BEHOLD, A WRITTEN VERSION OF THE 'Red's Villain Origin AU', also known as RVO / Heatstroke AU
To summarize the AU for SPBNR for those that don't now it:
“Who'd be the biggest conspiracy theorist out of the M!Ninja? The one who drinks 5 hour energy at 3am and spits off the craziest theories and then actually gets it right but nobody gives the theory any merit because the rest of the theories are too crazy?”
The answer: Red / M!Kai
Red: Okay hear me out: Smith is actually an alternative version of one of us sent here from another dimension.
The other M!Ninja: You’re just saying that because Smith’s cool and you want him to be your counterpart
Based on the M!ninja making red cork boards trying to figure out ‘What Is Up With Smith’: Red gets increasingly accurate and nobody will believe him (all pre shogun reveal) and he eventually snaps and takes up a secret villain persona to fight Shogun like 'if they won't believe me I'll do it myself' and it gets awkward when he accidentally does too much damage and catches not only Shogun's attention like planned, but also the rest of the Ninjaforce, and now he has to keep his own identity a secret
So, without further ado, I present... Heatstroke
------------
Red blamed the 5-hour energy coffee blend at 3:00am for this.
It was no surprise that between ‘Operation: What’s Going on with Smith’ & the sudden appearance of Shogun that the resident Bounty red-stringed ‘joke’ cork-board doubled in size and seriousness. It also was no surprise that Red had a corner all to himself and that his theories were… in the words of the others, ‘wildly inaccurate and implausible’.
But this time, he was sure he’d gotten it right.
Smith is Shogun sent here from another continent/planet/dimension with the goal of protecting Ninjago City.
The latest string of laughs and scoffs at his theory was the last straw. He’d show them. He’d prove it!
Which was why he was currently standing on the roof of a noodle house, awkwardly adjusting the spare motorcycle helmet he’d ‘borrowed’ from Nya and painted black and orangey-yellow (red had seemed too obvious). He’d exchanged his Ninjaforce outfit for a soot-burned cross between a bomber jacket and a leather jacket. Down his back jutted a row of flames like the spines of a monster, courtesy of one of Nya & Jay’s unfinished inventions Red had modified- surely nothing bad would come of that!
For tonight, the Red Ninja was off-duty. For tonight, it was Heatstroke’s turn.
He fiddled with one of the weapons he’d ‘lent out’ from Master Wu. It resembled a small arm canon, like a smaller version of the Ultimate Weapon. The plaque under its post had read ‘Elemental Focuser’, which, in cryptic Wu speak, probably translated to ‘you can use an elemental power like something out of Avatar: The Last Airbender’. So far he’d only figured out how to activate a focused jet of fire. Well, at least it was on brand. He hoped it would help him catch Shogun’s attention so he could unmask him.
He’d tried confronting Smith at school, of course. But there were only so many ways of saying ‘are you the new vigilante helping the ninjas’, and Smith has a genuine talent for dancing around the topic. Red could confront him with the name Shogun to get a proper reaction, but that would mean explaining how he knew the name and outing himself as the Red Ninja.
So fake villainy really was the only way.
His plan was to use the Elemental Focuser to cause some minor petty damage, just enough to attract the new vigilante. Perhaps set a trash can on fire, block an alleyway with rocks (if he figured out how to change the setting from fire to earth), small things that could easily be repaired.
Of course, plans were never actually stuck to. One way or another, something was always improvised.
Red’s improvisation just happened to involve him accidentally setting the entire alleyway on fire.
He’d only been aiming for one dumpster, honest! And maybe he’d spotted a couple fliers for a SoG meeting on the ground and happened to burn those too. And a newspaper article blaming Lloyd for the recent Garmadon attack, again. And an article about those ‘Damn Ninja Menaces’ by a S. Sonah Sameson. And-
Okay, so maybe Red had aimed the fire at a few small targets. But just a few! And with good reason and good care, but…
Well, fire liked to burn. Give it enough kindle and itll continue to grow, stretching like reaching branches towards each other to join in a massive bonfire.
So now the entire alleyway was on fire, and Red was panicking.
He’d luckily chosen an abandoned part of town near the beaches where Shogun sightings seemed most frequent, but with the stupid Elemental Focuser not switching from fire mode to water mode or ice mode or something that didn’t have the potential to burn Ninjago City to the ground, Red had no way of stopping the flames.
And more flames meant more destruction which meant a bigger audience.
Which was why his previously muted comm suddenly flared to life, the only warning Red had before Nya’s water strider mech slid around the corner.
Red scrambled onto a roof as the mech drove past, spraying water at the bonfire to dose it. His sigh of relief was just as quickly dosed as Lloyd’s voice came over the comms; “Status, Grey?”
“Flames are out,” Nya replied. “Pursing the joker that set it ablaze.”
Uh oh. Red took off across the roof, leaping from building to building. Tiles creaked, pebbled and dust scattering underfoot. The sounds of the mech’s engine roaring behind him echoed through alleyways below to create the illusion the mech was everywhere at once.
As the chase grew on, more mechs started to join in. Red ducked into a narrow avenue to avoid Zane’s tank, then under a cafe overhang to throw off Jay and Lloyd. His heart hammered in his chest and he groaned, filling the inside of the motorcycle helmet with steam. Saying this was going ‘bad’ would be the understatement of the century.
What had he been thinking? Oh wait: he hadn’t. Seriously? ‘Oh I’ll just pretend to be a villain real quick, that should get Shogun’s attention and not the attention of literally my entire team of fellow ninjas!’ Stupid, impulsive, this was why everyone was always calling the red ninja the ‘hothead’ when he really tried not to be- Lloyd’s voice over the comms snapped him from his thoughts. “I can’t catch them! It’s like they know our every move!”
Red winced as he climbed up a banister and leapt from balcony to balcony. Sorry, Lloyd.
He didn’t miss how the others asked Nya where Red was. And how she made up excuses the others bought so easily- granted, he’d told those excuses to his sister before setting his plan into motion, but still, ouch. They acted like he was simply being at best too busy and at worst lazy and selfish.
He just wanted them to know the truth! Why couldn’t they at least try to believe him when-
Of course, that was when Shogun dropped out of the sky and tackled him.
Red shouted with surprise as he tumbled down from the second floor, slamming into a few softer bags of garbage to break his fall before rolling and slamming into the unforgiving concrete. A crack formed in his vision as the visor of his motorbike helmet smacked into the concrete ground. One of the fire jets on his back sputtered and sparked, sending a thin wisp of smoke into the air.
Shogun pinned his wrists to the ground and growled. “Who are you?”
Red tried to break free, agony turning his muscles and bones to fire with the movement after his fall, but the vigilante was too strong. Damn, how often did this guy train?
“Who am I?” Red said, a nervous tinge to his voice. He quickly smoothed it over with faked confidence. “Who are you? Who are all of us, really?”
Shogun narrowed his eyes behind his hood. “Did Garmadon send you? Or someone else?”
Red sputtered. Really, the nerve! Garmadon? The thought turned his insides to disgusting mud. “Nobody sent me!”
“Then why are you here?” Shogun spat.
“Why am I here?” Why was he here again? Oh right, the bright idea on how to reveal that Shogun was Smith. “It’s, uh… a valid reason! That I don’t have to tell you!” He tried for a villainous laugh. Stay in character, don’t blow your cover, you got this!
Shogun was unimpressed. “Nearly burning down my home was a valid reason?”
“Well, I wasn’t trying to set everything on- wait, WHAT?” Uh oh. “You LIVE here?”
Now it was Shogun’s turn to look uncomfortable, though the expression was quickly wiped from his face. “Nothing wrong with this district.”
Red nodded. “‘Course not. Uh, sorry about that… wasn’t my intention, I swear.”
Shoot, he could hear Jay’s jet getting closer. He had to get out of here, but Shogun, annoyingly, didn’t seem to be in the mood to simply let him go. “Then what is your intention?”
“Well, for starters, it’s getting out of here. This really isn’t going to plan and I’d rather just be home right now, or even inventing a time machine like in that book ‘Hands of Time’ to slap my past self in the face for even thinking about this stupid idea in the first place-“
Jay wasn’t the only one that could ramble under pressure, it seemed.
Shogun leaned closer. “What idea?”
Red shrugged as best he could with how he was pinned to the ground. “Well, for starters, I just wanted to prove to my friends that you’re Smith, and things just kinda escalated from-”
The words were out of his mouth before he realized what he said.
Shogun lurched back, letting go of him. His eyes betrayed a kaleidoscope of emotions; surprise, worry, suspicious, hurt, fear, realization.
“…Kai?”
Well, f!ck.
“I-“
Red was about to badly attempt to bullsh!t his way out of his identity reveal before it suddenly dawned on him that Shogun had not denied his theory.
Which meant Shogun was Smith.
And it also meant Smith instantly recognized him as Kai, which, considering his disguise, was aptly concerning. Sure, he was the first one in his group of friends people would think to do something this extreme but give him some credit! Zane was a regular detective, he’d do the same if it meant answers! Or, well, at least something similar. And Nya could be an adrenaline seeker. And Lloyd- well, maybe not Lloyd. Or Jay, either. Cole had his head just enough on his shoulders that he probably wouldn’t do this either.
But come on, instantly guessing it?
Well, at least Smith/Shogun didn’t know Kai was the Red Ninja. That would be a catastrophe.
Right. Back to the current catastrophe at hand.
Shogun- Smith- still had a look as if he’d been slapped, and Red hated it. He hadn’t meant to hurt his friend. Shogun… Shogun hadn’t wanted them to find out his identity. And then Red had gone and done it, just to prove that he could be the smart one, or a leader, or the protector so they didn’t get hurt, or literally anything but just the ‘hotheaded one’.
…And he’d done it in the most hotheaded, impulsive way possible.
He really was an idiot.
The cracked helmet hid the look on his face, a twisted mess of distraught and shame. But it didn’t help hide how he took stumbled to his feet and away from Smith, nervous that any second he’d spill another mistake and mess up again, like how he always freaking messed up on everything. Don’t pick this fight, interject there instead, no, not there, idiot, there, FMS why are you so useless-
Focus, focus.
Lloyd’s voice, sharp in the intercom and full of static from his tumble, snapped him from his thoughts. “Anyone got eyes on the arsonist?”
Red caught Smith’s eye as he raised his hand to his own communicator. He was so screwed, so busted, so doomed… Smith would report it, and the others would know, and they’d think he was just messing around in an alleyway with some stolen devices and weapons out of curiosity or rage, - and-
“None yet, still looking.”
…What?
Smith stared at him, gaze searching. He looked shaken, more so than Red- who’d just taken a fall from a second story, mind you, it was a miracle he wasn’t more injured than a couple small scrapes and some future bruises-, yet everything from the set of his jaw to the softening of his furrowed brows suggested a change in emotions. Well, not quite change; more like repress and replace.
“You wanted to prove yourself, didn’t you.”
Red flushed, hand instinctually clamping into a tight fist at his side. The still-working fire jets on his back ignited without him pressing any buttons; faulty activation from the fall or something.
Palms up and hands raised, Smith silently asked to defuse the situation. “Didn’t mean it as an insult. This wasn’t about venting some anger, was it.”
Red’s lack of response only confirmed it. Smith continued. “I won’t say anything about this if you don’t tell anyone my identity. Deal? I know finding it out was important to you, but-“
“Deal,” Red interrupted. Guilt ate away at his core, like a wave of water dousing a candle. “Smith, I-“ He swallowed hard and stared at the alley floor. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to… to…”
Smith’s hand was suddenly on his shoulder and he flinched before relaxing as Smith didn’t move further, nor did the grip tighten. “I’m a little hurt, you’re right. But I’m not mad. And I won’t tell the others, so you can relax. But you better get out of here and get yourself an alibi. We can talk at school or something.”
Wow, he was handling this rather calmly. Red was struck by the sudden memory of- what did Jay call the word? Right. Compartmentalizing. That… wasn’t healthy. But at the roar of Lloyd’s mech somewhere nearby, he didn’t comment further. Instead, he shot Smith a grateful nod and ran down the alley, sticking to the shadows and blind spots of the flying mechs and the tight alleyways where the land mechs couldn’t reach him.
When he got home, miraculously without further incident (though Shogun leading the others on a wild goose chase over the comms certainly helped there), he ditched the outfit in a bag hidden beneath a loose floorboard in the shed. He’d return the weapon to Master Wu’s ship later, and… well, hope Nya never searched for the missing supplies. There wasn’t a way of fixing it without involving her or Jay, and neither was an option.
Heatstroke was back off duty, and so was the Red Ninja.
For now, he could just be Kai Smith. And there wasn’t any issue with that.
…
Right?

THIS IS AMAZING REHJJGFHDESFXJVZ
and ah yes, good ol trauma and compartmentalizing, we love to see it

wu should've remained a baby: a hot take no one asked for but arguably should consider
why is baby wu so important, you ask? you guys, i hear you. i hear you in my dreams, in my shower, and in my nonexistant auditory hallucinations of people that started when we had to cut off all interactions with other human lifeforms. wasn't wu's de-aging just another temporary side effect of the hands of time arc? yes, but if they'd stuck with it and let baby wu grow at a normal speed (esp. w/o that weird remembering thing where he gets all of his memories back), it would've created great character explorations and shifted the responsibilities of the ninja (this is a take that assumes that the aftermath of the oni arc stays the same whether or not wu's a child)
picking up from the beginning, they have to take care of him and they can't just give him up to someone else. all they know is that this is a baby the SoG are after and they're some of the best protectors in ninjago, so it's up to them until they defeat SoG. plus, they can't just give him to someone else to raise even after the events of SoG, Hunted, and March of the Oni, because *someone* would realize that the baby is wu (just realistically speaking - i mean, it's ninjago) eventually, and he'll need protecting then. plus, lloyd is the only family wu has left, and his students are some of the people who knew him best.
what happens now? now, they have one member of their team that can't take care of themself. literally everyone else is trained in fighting, but not this baby! they can't go crashing the bounty into cliffs or leave literally anything dangerous unattended
since this version doesn't have the weird accelerated growth thing and most ninjago plot mysteries get resolved quickly (except for mr. e! b/c apparently him being echo isn't officially canon!), for the sake of having similar pacing, let's say they probably figure he's wu by running into scrolls/art/parchment with the whole first family (first spinjitzu master, garmadon, wu) on it and seeing the likeness, plus the kid's oni blood so they would have figured wu's disappearance and an oni baby showing up were a little too coincidental
how do the ninja deal with seeing a child grow up? a saga:
lloyd. now he gets to see a kid grow up and have the childhood that got ripped away from him, and you can BET that he's not going to let anyone take away this kid's fun. he'd have to reconsider what growing up meant to him and really come to terms with his lost childhood. plus, when wu's older and in like late middle/early high school, he'll come back with all the school material that lloyd doesn't know because he was busy saving the world and being magicked into a young adult
nya. she was really young when their parents left, so the contrast between her upbringing (kai and her on their own with only photos, stories, and a shop) and baby wu's (many people who care! there's always someone around to rely on) only to realize what was robbed from her by krux. in comparison to other character growth she would have to accomodate for the child, this introspection would probably be the most significant.
kai. similar to nya, except he's probably a lot more aware of the discrepancies between his childhood and other kids' due to him having taken on the Responsible Older Brother mantle and being that reliable person for Nya. he's going to have to learn how to control his temper and instinct to distance himself when he's emotionally conflicted. on the flip side, he'll be very protective of letting wu have a childhood, since he had to grow up so quickly.
jay. had a pretty stable and good childhood, he's probably going to be one of the best sources for the reference of "on the general, this is how people usually raise a child" he'll be the best one to understand independent streaks and the "i hate you!"s that kids do because from what we know he was one of those kids, too. however, he'll have to mature in order to take care of the kid. he's very impulsive and, at times, insensitive because of it, which isn't great when you're trying to provide a good environment to raise a kid. plus, now he has to keep a bit better track of his things and his tasks in order to manage time better now that some of it is taken up by this little wu monster.
zane. oh boy. he thought he was an amnesiac orphan for so long, only to realize that he's a robot and never was human, then figures that he had a "childhood" but was never really a child. he's going to realize how immortal and unchanging he is in relation to the ever-growing humans he surrounds himself with. since he has two senses of self: robot and human, he's just left longing for all the things he can't have: a chance to grow physically from as a defenseless, unknowing kid to a competent, knowledgeable adult. yes, he had a mental childhood from when dr. julien made him, but he realizes that it's really not the same when he sees all the quirks of humanity that surround him. he's now very scared of how long he'll live and doesn't want to outlive them. this will likely take a few months to sink in and then there would a few weeks of just Emotional Turmoil likely, this change in behavior will be noticed by cole and the team will stage an intervention with pixal as the main speaker and they'll tell them they love him and they're glad he can live long because they don't want to imagine ninjago without him. he'll end up gaining more appreciation for his robot form and have to reevaluate what it really means for him to be both a machine and a person.
pixal. she never thought of herself as or considered herself a human! she'll probably have a similar response to zane in terms of the mortality and humanity thing, but it'd be a short, several days/a week thing that she talks out with someone she trusts. she might get a little insecure about it occasionally, but it just fuels her to be the best herself she can possibly be and spend her very long life doing as much good as she can. she'll gain a new sense of purpose and also appreciation for Borg!
cole. y'all were waiting for this one, eh? well first of all we know he's a great dad, and because of his experiences with his father, he'll likely be accepting about anything little wu could possibly want to commit his life to. also, as we can see, he enjoys taking care of kids because he likes being responsible for a little person; he finds the whole thing very rewarding and since he's usually pretty chill, it'll be a chance for the others to see him in a different, more excitable but also responsible light.
but what about the ninja's parents? you say
by putting a baby into the mix, these magic primary color children's show vigilantes need to mature because raising a child can't be solved by fighting and discovering new elemental abilities. they're forced to reevaluate how stable their own upbringings were and what they can do now to make sure that the kid doesn't have to deal with the issues that hurt them most.
as a team, though, they'll have to accept that you can't stop a kid from being hurt and the most important role a guardian has is to be a mentor and a friend, not a warden. they will need to carve out time from their own personal hours to do unglamorous, routine things like pick wu up from school or watch over a screamy child.
it would make them mature and turn the team on its head in a way, resulting in them appreciating each other more and learning more about each other's pasts.
but it would also be sO CUTE. HERE ARE SOME OF THE CUTE THINGS:
zane he teaches him about how everyone's inherent differences and uniqueness are not for people to exact judgment on - they're to be celebrated. w/ sous chef lloyd and commentator cole teaching wu how to cook in the big bounty kitchen that toddler wu would need a step stool to work at properly. when they've cleaned all the dishes, zane turns to congratulate little wu, only to be met with a bubble-bearded child of mischief. oh well, everyone knows that the only way to defeat bubble-beards is tickles, so he's left with only one option.
lloyd teaching wu about garmadon and the first master. how to be an oni and all the tales that make up their history, wu's past. how the world needs balance and why life deserves protecting. he's really not even out of being a kid, himself, so he enjoys taking wu out to comic and clothes stores. he's the default chaperone and takes just so much joy out of seeing a little kid get to be themself and not worry about anything other than when they get to go on their next playdate instead of having to avoid their father before they're ready to beat him to a pulp in the final battle. the sky's as golden as the yellowed starfarer pages that little wu's clutching so close. he can't read it yet, but the illustrations are so enthralling that it doesn't really matter. wu trips and lloyd barely has time to catch him before he scrapes his knees on the sidewalk. the comic is retrived after water ninja band-aids are applied, and they continue walking. a nice, normal day - the definition of a miracle.
cole teaching wu about kindness and responsibility, compassion and empathy, forgiveness and apologies. typical good dad things. there's a faint sniffling noise from behind the door, so cole knocks on it and sits in the hallway right next to the opening. he'll open it when he's ready. when wu explains how some kids at school made fun of him because of his lack of a mom or dad, cole just hugs him until he feels all wu's weight resting on his shoulder and only hears soft snores.
nya teaching wu about patience. about how the people around you should be cherished and appreciated. also joint lessons with kai about brewing the perfect cup of tea and some with jay about mechanics. she's just always around, wu can find her and just gush about anything. she's resourceful, so if he lets an idea slip, then she might help him fulfiill it on one of her free days. nya's waiting at the kitchen table in the bounty when wu returns from school. he pulls out a stool, going over the same little tile marks again and again. she opens the tea cabinet, hands him the list in zane's neat scrawl, and lets him spoon out the leaves everyone wants. kai enters - perfect timing - and is convinced to give the kettle a little boost. seven cups of perfectly brewed tea sit out on the table, to be joined by a handle-less light blue one just a few moments later. nya starts, "so, how was your day?"
kai teaching wu about the importance of keeping your ego in check and how your insecurities don't and never will define you, no matter how much you've convinced yourself that they do. lashing out at people is never the answer. the little blacksmith shop they have set up isn't really meant for children but wu is so careful and kai is so soft. he monologues about life lessons while wu is just transfixed on the hot metal he's holding.
pixal teaching wu about how to tell stories that will get people clutching their sides and crying of laughter. she understands that people can be hard to understand, so she breaks things down for him as best as she can. sitting on the deck of the bounty, sitting on equiptment crates, and trading ideas and stories, then telling them again and again until they're conversation-ready.
jay teaches wu about the wonderful world of technology and how creativity is the root of innovation. they sit in the workshop and work on basic machines with gears and levers until it's long after dusk and their tea goes cold. jay finds technical drawings in crayon on the covers of his bed. nya annotates them. nya sits on her bed only to spring back the second she hears paper crinkling. another drawing by wu, another idea. she takes a blue pen and begins to annotate it, setting it aside when jay gets in bed. the light goes out. another day, another time: tomorrow.
the whole "the only good deaged chararcter arc that's lasted over a season is one that ends with aging them up" thing just feels like a cop-out for me, especially when all of this potential is here. anyways, if y'all have anymore comments on the importance, or lack thereof, of baby wu, let me know!

I've had everything (no one's listening)
He waited until the sobs slowed a bit before opening the car door and grabbing a roll of paper towels and handing a couple to Lloyd, "hold that on your face, and tell me what happened. Don't tell Kai I swore around you, but you look like shit."
Takes place after Wrong Place, Wrong Time
•••
"Be patient with him, Jay. Sometimes the greatest enemy we face is ourselves, and that's especially true for Lloyd. Remember where he came from. He's the son of Lord Garmadon. It's going to take him a while to see the light." Sensei Wu's words rang in Jay's head as he drove through the outskirts of Ninjago City.
All four of the ninja, plus Nya, were patrolling the city, looking for any sign of Garmadon now that the mega weapon had been destroyed, and while Kai was way too vocal about his hopes that Garmadon was gone for good, they all knew that wasn't true.
They had all noticed Sensei getting more protective of Lloyd, almost as if the Tomorrow's Tea incident had sped up the likelihood of Lloyd fulfilling the prophecy sooner than later.
Meanwhile, all Jay could think about was how just a month ago, Lloyd was unable to control his powers and was exploding light bulbs like there was no tomorrow, which forced him to hit the gas.
Garmadon wasn't the only reason they were searching the city and the outskirts; Lloyd had disappeared that morning, with zero sign of him or his gi anywhere, sending all of them into a panic.
Zane tried to reason that it was stress, Kai seemed to think that he went to go find his dad himself to fight him, Cole thought that he went to join his dad and was trying to run away from his destiny, Sensei just wanted him found.
Jay didn't know what to think.
'After what happened at Darkly's, he seemed to be on the straight and narrow, but he could've joined up with his dad. I doubt he would start the battle early, but at the same time, maybe he wants to get it over with. Or maybe he really is stressed, and just needs a breather.
But Jay did know one thing as he turned and started to drive off the road. 'We have to find this kid.'
As he continued to drive, all Jay could see was sand blowing across the road, closer to his parents' junkyard than the city.
'He's probably just in the city at the comic book store or something, there's no way he would've gotten all the way out here.' Jay told himself as he started to get ready to turn back when he saw it.
A figure with blonde hair, dressed in green, with his arm outstretched towards the road. Lloyd was alive, and was hitchhiking home. Jay immediately reached for the radio and sent out a transmission as he pulled back onto the road and slowed down.
"I found him. I found Lloyd."
He didn't wait for a response before shutting off the radio in order not to spook Lloyd before pulling up to him, wincing when he saw the fact that his lip was busted with dried blood around it, his right eye was turning black and there was blood dripping from his nose.
"Did you get involved in a cage match?" Jay spoke, getting out of the car to fully assess what had happened, "or did you lose a bet?"
"I-I can't go home," Lloyd sniffled, his lip starting to bleed again, "m-my uncle will be so angry."
"Hey, hey," Jay soothed and pulled the kid into a hug, "your uncle will be happy you're alive, and mostly okay."
He waited until the sobs slowed a bit before opening the car door and grabbing a roll of paper towels and handing a couple to Lloyd, "hold that on your face, and tell me what happened. Don't tell Kai I swore around you, but you look like shit."
"I-I just wanted to help," Lloyd started, applying pressure to his lip, "I'm older now, I-I can fight. So when the sensor at the Bounty went off, a-and it was some thieves, I deleted the alert and went after t-them."
Jay couldn't help but smile, even though he had a feeling that he was supposed to chew the kid out for acting recklessly, he couldn't help but admire Lloyd's bravery and determination.
"Okay, here's the plan," Jay announced, opening the door so Lloyd could get in the car before he followed, "we're closer to the junkyard then the city, so we'll get you patched up there while I come up with a cover story."
Lloyd nodded, moving the paper towel off of his lip as Jay pulled back onto the road.
"And keep pressure on your lip."
•••
Jay struggled to maneuver the wheel so he didn't hit anything when they pulled inside of the junkyard, immediately greeted by his parents waving and his mom yelling...something.
"Alright, they probably will ask questions, but they aren't gonna rat you out, okay?" He explained, pulling in beside the jalopy and turning off the ignition.
"P-promise?"
"I promise." Jay smiled and got out, helping Lloyd out behind him before going over and hugging his parents, "hey, guys."
"Hey, son." His dad greeted, patting him twice on the back before letting go.
"It seems like every time you come, you've gotten bigger." His mom smiled, before looking over at Lloyd and immediately rushing over to him, "What happened to your lip, sweetheart?"
"He got into a fight, we were closer to the junkyard than the city." Jay explained, seeing the tears in Lloyd's eyes and deciding to explain for him.
"Okay, come on in, I'll fix you right up." She insisted before leading Lloyd inside.
Jay followed closely behind, watching as his mom immediately handed Lloyd an ice pack after he was sitting on the couch.
"Alright, there you go, sweetheart."
"Thanks, Mrs. Walker." Lloyd mumbled, mostly because it hurt to talk, before putting the ice against his face.
"I'll be right back with the first aid kit." She gently squeezed Lloyd's shoulder before going into the bathroom, giving Jay the chance to sit beside Lloyd.
" 'm sorry, for running off, and for scaring everyone," Lloyd spoke up, wiping his eyes on his sleeve, "I just…"
"It's okay, Lloyd," Jay insisted, wrapping his arm around his shoulder, "you got bored of being cooped up and wanted to help, I get it. You should've seen how often I got hurt cause I decided to do something besides sit around here."
"R-really?"
"Oh yeah. I met your uncle when I was testing out a pair of wings I made myself, and the amount of times I got hurt testing those was...ridiculous." Jay chuckled, smiling more when he saw Lloyd smile, even if it pulled at the scab on his lip.
"My point is, no one wants you to go stir crazy, we're just trying to keep you safe," he continued once Lloyd's smile faded, "in fact, next time you feel like you're going to lose your mind, come find me. We'll go find an arcade or something."
Lloyd nodded and leaned against Jay's shoulder as Edna came back out of the bathroom with the first aid kit.
"Let's see what we can do about your nose," she told Lloyd before turning to Jay, "mind seeing if there's any popsicles left, honey?"
"Yeah, I'll go look." Jay nodded, gently squeezing Lloyd's shoulder before going to the freezer and letting in a breath of relief.
'I seriously hope that we're never going to have this problem again.'

If you ask my opinion I say you are right I agree with you Do you remember the episode ( Time After Time ) when the Monks got Mikado Arms Dojo said they were equal on points But what happens next that bothers me They all look at Jack with a grin And Omi said I suppose, Defeat Jack It broke Draw the Monks Throw the wu on the ground while Jack terrifying said no You can't What kind of people are you. They jumped on him, and They beat poor Jack while Dojo watch as he wrote in his notebook I really wish I could punch this dragon in his face Dojo's job is like a guard for them I mean, instead of doing what they want I mean Dojo he is literally considering as an adult like parents tells them the consequences of their actions But no he is just a lazy dragon
But what really took the cake
When they come back from a mission They eat Pizza at lunch and Master Fung is in front of the table holding in is hand the wu while Dojo is on his shoulder, Omi Tells Master Fung that he impressed Himself with his own work then Kimiko: said not only that we Bring back The Mikado Arms I even brought One of the jack shoes) Then Raimundo said This is nothing I got Jack's belt And then Clay said I can beat that, Jack's hair)then Omi said Well I can play Shame on All of You: JACK UNDERWEAR And then Omi puts underwear on his head then Master Fung said There is still One last test before choosing a leader He simply said
I mean What the hell was this, There was many wrong with this episode And the first of them was What the Monks did to Jack was wrong true that he Do bad and evil things But this is too far even for them And what I hated when they were really pride themselves on their work in beating up Jack This wasn't even necessary I mean they got the wu and Destroy Dodo bots They won They should have go back to the temple But instead of this they decision They beat Jack break all his bones and ripping all part of him Just for extra points This is what I call a bullying teens and the Monks is supposed be the heroes I believe that is Ironic, isn't it
heroes in my ass This was not a heroic act And what really made me crazy is Master Fung reaction he literally Continue talking about choosing the leader As if nothing happened instead of scolding them And tells them that they disgrace the name Xiaolin warrior I mean he the Master and Master Fung supposed to says wisdom or some kind of words I'm sure there is a saying : When you win a fight And your enemy is defenceless then there No need to fight them or If you find your enemy is defenceless then show mercy that is scene is correct in my opinion
You know guys I think the Monks Just make an excuse in their actions I imagine one of them says that Jack is Heylin So there is no problem in hitting or kicking him else that Jack bad And they are good guys
I will be honest with you if I was in a series I would have said these words for the Monks : You tell me that You are heroes if were really good So let one of you explain who is paying the damages of construction building huh when you try to get the Mikado Arms You smashed the building Instead of keeping the place safe You guys did acrobatics While the place is crashing Just for a win Who will it be the leader Imagine if there were construction workers They worked on this building with their sweat and best job and time in order to earn their livelihood It all goes to waste Because Some of group Monks that They SUPPOSED to be heroes And don't you dare blame Jack or his bots The four of you are using the wu And especially YOU Raimundo Imagine what if someone got hurt because of wrack that You did And also don't forget other places you visited You destroyed some of public property and others their house, Especially Jack house It is true that he destroyed the your temple sometimes But you the Monks are the worst.
And don't make me starts about this time When Jack join your temple or the good side Like Omi says in the the second season (episode 22: The Apprentice ) first They didn't give Jack the right size of clothes
secondly This scene here They made Jack clean their dirty clothes while Omi and Dojo judged him and And they orde him around such as Omi say Release your anger and the soap too else Dojo tells him not to skip in the soap I like the Fresh smell of spring Then suddenly A pile of dirty clothes falls on Jack because of dump truck in it Raimundo & Kimiko & Clay Then they laughed at him
thirdly This scene here They made him wash all the dirty dishes And then Omi appeared from the kitchen sink And he said Clean your anger and Years of bitter Then else Dojo showed up to say to Jack And use a lot of Anti-bacterial soap I'm kind of allergic to Germs Then when Dojo put down the cup In the pile of dishes at make it fall on Jack who screams
Fourthly the Scene Omi and Dojo drink tea While Jack is cleaning the floor Then Omi tells to him work until evil comes out And there is Nothing but goodness Then Dojo did something annoying he said And of course, Until the tea stains disappear spilled tea on the floor And laughs Jack is anger threw some soap at him Then Dojo says hey You did this on purpose Jack says No I didn't Then he threw the bucket at Dojo I did that on purpose Then he turned his head to the left And see angry Omi Jack said what and I say that Jack has every right to do this
and Finally, in this scene When they were in front of Jack's room Omi Asks him: will Jack Spicer What were you thinking on your first day of training He did not answer him because Jack passed out from exhaustion on the bed Then Clay said I hate to admit But to have Spicer around Not so bad else smirk Kimiko said Especially does all our chores then Raimundo else said And my underwear was never did smell so Fresh And the last of them Dojo said and my litter box Clean enough to eat in out of it
This Scene was the last straw of my nerves I mean really Omi You really ask him how his training was With all your innocent words As if you and your friends did nothing wrong You really are the worst heroes I mean, that's what you call that training !!! Omi, You literally made Jack a servant to you and your team not to a good person
And by the way, I don't blame Jack for being evil again I remember once reading something someone say: Omi stuff good in Jack's throat And that's really what Omi did he forced Everyone to be a good side and I say Omi is clueless and stupid And honestly I don't blame Chase Young in choosing Omi There are many things in common with them
Okay so I talked about this on my plurk but I’m going to talk about it again so sorry to people who are on both.
This screenshot is taken from the very end of The Emperor Scorpion Strikes Back (witty). Jack actually took control of the Fearsome Four (Mala Mala Jong split in four by the Ring of Nine Dragons) and was controlling them with the Emperor Scorpion. He hadn’t done much of anything yet but he and Wuya were planning to break everything and take over the world, etc etc. Obviously he had to be stopped and he was.
But this is what breaks my heart. After the monks won back the Emperor Scorpion, Jack was trying to sneak away (obviously), when Omi says that he knows Jack likes basketball so why don’t they play again.
Jack stops escaping, turns around, and makes that face and says, “Cool! Who gets to pick first?”
And the Fearsome Four proceeds to use him as a basketball while the monks laugh.
IT KILLS ME.
Because he’s just so excited that people want to play basket ball with him (at the beginning of the episode he had split himself with the Ring and was playing against himself) and they don’t really want to play basketball with him, they just want to beat him up. Which is understandable but at the same time it’s like, he’s just this lonely kid, really, it wouldn’t take that much to sway the side he’s on…
I have too many feels about this guy, I just need to stop.
Who am I kidding, I’m not ever stopping.
