Today was a special & splendid #SilentEraFilm #DoubleFeature: #ModernTimes #1936, #CharlesChaplin & #PauletteGoddard. Behind the laughs are some very serious issues re: society & economics & how people cope w/the stuff of being overwhelmed by day to day life. This was followed by #Metropolis, directed by #FritzLang. The Internet information calls it a #ScienceFiction. Seems more like a #FutureDystopia, from a #1927 perspective. That's the background. The real story is #redemption & the need for a #Mediator. The #StylisedImagey made this far from a saccharine look @ nice ideals, but more a raw & paired down look @ what we need to be truly #SentientBeings. Story by #TheavonHarbou.
