The Swedish King Gustav III is bold and courageous regarding government. He is to marry a Danish princess. But when it comes to love and courtship, the king feels lost. Therefore he asks the loyal and experienced Captain Munck for assistance.

‘Gustav III:s äktenskap’ is a wonderful TV movie in two parts about Gustav III and Sofia Magdalena and their attempts at mending their unhappy marriage while also producing the much longed for heir. It is a beautiful - and ultimately tragic - movie filled to the brim with court intrigues, scheming family members, love and loss. Not to mention it is gorgeous to look at!
