HOLOSTARS English -TEMPUS- - Always Tied - TOB Vocal Cover
Covered the #holoTEMPUS Vanguard's debut original song~ #HOLOSTARSEnglish #HOLOSTARS
I gotta admit, this short and sweet song is my favorite Stars EN original song so far, especially with how much I’ve been looping it lately. Happily dance-worthy on top of solemnly fantastic and filled with powerful vocal synergy, it’s something I consider easy to sing by oneself but a lot more fun sung by a group. Now, if I felt like a more easily sociable person, this would’ve been a group…

「Hikaru B-day LIVE 2024 -love Begets love-」
Today is Hikaru's birthday! YAY!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!🥳🥳🥳 I feel horrible for not having prepared anything. Usually I post at least a little edit or something on Twitter but today has been pretty crazy at work so I haven't really found the time to do anything T_T. Anyway, we got more than enough amazing photos from Hikaru's birthday live. Seems like it was a huge success. Lots of people were there to support Hikaru (most notably Joelle, ASUKA/Aira Yuuki and Hikaru's former composer Hideyuki Gushimiyagi). And of course, Keiko appeared as special guest during the live.

Title: 『Hikaru B-day LIVE 2024 -love Begets love-』 Date: July 2, 2024 Venue: duo MUSIC EXCHANGE Time: open 18:00 / start 19:00 🔥 【Band】 HaKA / hoto-D / TACOS NAOMI 【Guest】 KEIKO

Ahhh! What a great setlist! Really wish I had been there for this!! Hearing them sing KSnSnw would have killed me for sure. That Hikaru cardboard cutout looks amazing! I want one for myself!! So cute how Keiko is hugging it🥹
Update: Finally had some time to go through everyone's comments and reactions on Twitter. A major highlight seems to have been Keiko mentioning Wakana after singing KSnSnw. While Hikaru tried to avoid saying Wakana's name (as she usually does), Keiko had no such qualms and casually name-dropped "Wa-chan". They talked about singing Kalafina songs and whether or not it's a cover when two members are performing. On one hand, it's not a cover because they literally ARE members of Kalafina but on the other hand, they often tend to call it a cover because it's not the real thing either. After all, the arrangement has had to be changed accordingly to make up for a missing member. Basically no one can or wants to replace Wakana (and her special voice) in Kalafina so if she's not there with them singing, it's just not the same.

GOUACHE Members interview
Tumblr media
Jin’s solo interview || Sidu’s interview || Original (full translation under the cut)
“Kagerou Daze -in a day’s-” is a bodily sensation-type 4D short movie, which was released in the second theater system of the national-wide TOHO Cinemas on November 4th in MX4D™. The movie’s opening theme song, “RED”, made by the creator of “Kagerou Project”, Jin-san – who is not only its lyricist and composer, but also the light novel and manga script’s writer –, together with his new-formed band (GOUACHE), received great repercussion in the entire Mora site immediately after its publishing. Other than that, Jin-san has his other band and works as support musician as well, and has been much talked about for recruiting such experienced members.
In this interview, to celebrate the movie’s presentation to the public and the huge popularity of “RED”, we have successfully gathered comments from the GOUACHE members! These news will consist of each member’s official talks about the band and its songs, from the thoughts they’ve put into the compositions to the possible future developments. It’s a must-read for the fans as it’s packed with detailed answers! Please enjoy it without skipping any words or sentences!
GOUACHE Members
MARiA (Vocals) Born on 1/31/1992 in Ibaraki Prefecture. Had her major debut in 2014 and works as GARNiDELiA’s vocalist. Is an artwork producer, in charge of songwriting, and also dances during live performaces. Is a model for several fashion brands as well, and has been earning the support of young women from her generation.
Jin (Guitar/Vocals) Born on 10/20/1990 in Hokkaidou’s Rishiri Island. Is a music composer, light novel writer and scenario writer. Specializes in creating untramelled works that do not get caught up in stereotyped concepts.
Gushimiyagi Hideyuki (Guitar/Vocals) Born on 1/31/1990 in Okinawa Prefecture. Started working as a guitarist, then created his own band, Creature Falls Umbrella, in 2014, and became its vocal-guitarist and composer as well.
Shirakami Mashirou (Bass/Vocals) Born on 5/5/1988 in Okayama Prefecture. Besides being solo artist and singer, he’s also a bassist, composer, arranger and recording engineer, working as a producer of anything related to music.
Ibuki Fumihiro (Drums/Choir) Born on 8/27/1990 in Hokkaidou’s Ohibiro town. Is a Jazz drums course graduate from Senzoku Gakuen Music College. Is the leader of the band O.P.P.A.I. and works as support artist for many other bands. Actively takes part in numberous national and international performances, no matter their genre.
GOUACHE’s official Twitter account: GOUACHE_JP (T/N: Please follow them, guys. They don’t have even 3k followers yet. The account is bilingual, so you can get information from it even if you don’t speak Japanese. Their English is a little awkward but it’s easy to understand. Also, they’re considering releasing their songs overseas, so the more non-Japanese followers they get, the greater the chances of that happening.)
Q&A
──I believe that while “RED”, the opening theme of “Kagerou Daze -in a day’s-”, is about “a sight that adults can’t understand and only reflects in the eyes of children”, it also deals with more universal themes. Were there any feelings you had wanted to deliver to people other than the current “KagePro” fans?
Jin: I was the one in charge of the lyrics of “RED”, and just as you said, it’s a piece aiming to deliver a worldview that reverberates within the “child-like heart” of the biggest amount of people possible. A “child-like heart” is what I personally consider one of my most valuable themes, so since I was using it, as expected, I ended up needing quite some time for the composition.
To express the scenery of a bygone summer’s day through words is a very specific task, and for that, I received advice mostly from the member Mashiro-san, and thus it became the way it is. That’s why these lyrics that are about a sight I saw in the past have, of course, been sprinkled with memories from a summer that Mashiro-san himself has lived. I think that lyrics like these being born is also something that reflects the band’s taste, so I’d wish everyone enjoyed this part of them too.
The majority of the GOUACHE members write songs, so I believe we will be releasing compositions from several polished viewpoints from now on. Please look forward to it.
──I was wondering if the song “RED” wouldn’t be the equivalent to a business card for the band GOUACHE. Are the things GOUACHE wants to convey contained in this song? I’d also like to ask what the theme of GOUACHE and what the message you actually want to deliver are.
Gushimiyagi: “RED” was the opening theme of the “KagePro” movie, so Jin was the one to take the lead in the making of the composition. But rather than a business card, it wound up as a work with the concept of what would happen if GOUACHE made a piece that leans towards “KagePro”. Therefore, I think the interpretation that the song “RED” is a piece that equals to a business card for GOUACHE just because it's our starting song would have only been valid if we were to make it through our upcoming activities. I’d be happy if people could feel GOUACHE’s theme and the things we want to transmit through the works that will be born from them.
──“RED” also had a simultaneous release with a high resolution sound generator version. Any concerns regarding the HighRes? Is there any piece that you want to listen to in HighRes or that you already listened to in HighRes and thought “this is amazing”?
(T/N: A sound generator is a device that generates sound waves by reproducing multiple basic waveforms. The finest ones can even detect the increase or decrease of air pressure in the room during recordings, so fluctuations in the atmosphere might interfere with the results.)
Ibuki: We still don’t have equipments that support HighRes for home recording, but we have been able to compare the three types of HighRes equipment through analyzing one piece from a CD lent to us by a musician otaku Senpai. I’ve always had doubts as to whether or not human ears could process sounds that can’t be recorded into CDs, so I was extremely shocked when, even while listening to it blindfolded, I could clearly tell the change in atmosphere. When I checked the sound mixes from our usual studio recordings in the control room, it sounded similar to the time I brought the sound generator to my home, which has a different speaker. The CD gives the impression that the sound leaps into surface, and the HighRes gives the impression that what leaps in is one particularly lengthy soundwave. I usually enjoy listening to music with an analog during home recordings since I can feel its depth more than with a CD, but I get concerned about the noise. “RED” is, more than anything, a song made by people obsessed with creating sounds, so please do try it out in HighRes. We want you to listen to an aspect of it that you absolutely can’t hear on YouTube.
──It’s said that the HighRes can reproduce even the “atmosphere” of the recording studio. Your usual tweets cause us to assume that you might have an obsession with the recording equipments and environment, but keeping in mind the viewpoint of those from the sidelines, we’d like you to tell us if any of you have ever thought something along the lines of, “I want people to listen to a sound generator from this angle”.
Shirakami: This time, I played the drums for recording with the image of an American rock band in mind. Their sound gives me the impression of a low center of gravity, gradually-increasing highs and clear vocals. It’s a sound that has long been a personal favorite of mine, and together with these members, engineers and directors, I attempted challeging it through all kinds of trial and error while making this song.
In order to increase the impact of the zone that embeds the unique notes of the guitar and, especially, the bass, taking advantage of the interval in-between the Japanese rock band-like guitar sounds, the individuality of the bass comes to light from the middle part onwards with a low gravity center kick. My position of making the drums take on a moderate, not-too-wet intensity was chosen by one of the engineers. The bass was recorded in a dead room, while the guitar was recorded in a semi-live room.
(T/N: In this context:
“Wet” is jargon that refers to a very thick, deep sound with little to no sustain.
A “dead room” is basically a room designed to be acoustically “dead” ─ as in not produce echoes and be free of ambient noise.
A “live room” is the opposite, designed to be highly reverberant, while a “semi-live room” is a toned-down version of it.)
The playback environment also influences it, but I feel it becomes easier to notice the change of high-end in the HighRes. I think the subtle breaths of the vocals, the tale’s nuance, the reverberation of the cymbals and snares, the mood of the guitar amplifier and the contrast of the opposing tight-kick bass are conveyed more clearly in it.
Regarding the recording equiment, we usually leave them in the care of an engineer that we normally count on, so I don’t know for sure, but the drums were selected from the cymbals to the head of the kick, and several guitar amplifiers and distortion effectors were tested. I’d be happy if people could feel the difference of the main guitar’s sound, the bass’s effective arrangements, and the players’ wills, which don’t depend on the studio.
(T/N: High-end is a class of consumer home audio equipment marketed on the basis of high price or quality, and distortion effectors are devices made to alter the sound of amplified electric musical instruments.)
──Lastly, I’d like to ask about your expectations for the future.
MARiA: “The five of us, overflowing with individuality, want to make interesting and fun things together first and foremost!” is what I thought when forming the band. I think it’d be great if GOUACHE could deliver various worldviews through its melodies, tunes and lyrics! I believe we’ll announce new songs like crazy in the near future and, of course, we want to do a live with all our might, so please look forward to it!!!
──Members of GOUACHE, thank you very much!

COVER VISUALS AND TRACK LIST RELEASED FOR JIN’S 3RD ALBUM “MEKAKUCITY RELOAD” !!
(This is a translation of this article published on universal-music.co.jp, 10/10/2018)
The cover visuals and track list  have been released for Jin’s new album “Mekakucity Reload” which goes on sale 7th Nov 2018 (Wed).
Following on from “Additional Memory’s” music video that was released the other day, Shidu -who’s in charge of the draft illustrations for Kagerou Project characters- has drawn the cover illustration. The cover is an illustration of the Kagerou Daze character Marry, the meaning behind the title of this work and the cover illustration is unraveled here, and you are invited into this new “Kagerou Daze” story.
The anticipated music is comprised of seven new songs worth listening to with nine tracks recorded in total. The curtain is opened on this album with “Ever-Youth Roadshow (Instrumental)” ~ “Imaginary Reload”.
“Imaginary Reload”, with band-sound* undertones, has technical components like slap and shuffle-beat and a gradually changing progression like a song from a circus, it’s appropriate as a first song, raising the curtain on the work.  “Never-Lost Word” uses motifs from the 7th novel, and has an impressive feel to it as well as a sprinting feeling with its piano and strings, upon reading the novel you’ll be able to imagine the contents of the scenes in the story more vividly. sasakure.UK was invited onto the musical arrangement of “My Funny Weekend”, a Shibuya-Kei** sound is introduced on the axis with cute poppy sounds. Definitely pay attention to this calculated arrangement, which shines in this playfulness. “Additional Memory” has become the leading track of this album, the arrangement is a collaboration between GOUACHE- the band Jin is a part of- and Gushimiyagi Hideyuki, who worked on guitar and vocals. While it’s intense, the piano and the impressive guitar arpeggio have made it a song with a characteristic sound to it. The cries of cicadas play an important role in all of the songs, I hope you listen and notice this. The arrangement of “Lost Day Hour” is also a collaboration with Gushimiyagi Hideyuki, it has a country-feel to it with motifs included in the 6th Novel, it’s become a song focused with strings and other acoustic sounds, but on the other side of that cheerfulness, the arrangement has been made with pain at the same time, like a waning sun. “Remind Blue” also follows on from “Lost Day Hour” with Gushimiyagi Hideyuki in charge of arrangement, with the summer motif, it’s emotional, naïve, and has a band-sound to it, with a sprinting-feeling, please listen out for the guitar sounds of GOUACHE’s two guitarists. “At The End Of The Forgotten Summer” has an oriental melody to it, with piano, strings, wind instruments and bass, and the work then approaches its end credits on the final song that ends on a one-chorus + final performance, “Goodbye Summer Wars”.
Once you have finished listening to the album, begin the novels and the manga so you can enjoy the album from various different angles, I’d like you to discover and find your way to enjoy this current work “Mekakucity Reload” individually.
 * There isn’t really an English term for this, I guess this is referring to music that sounds like it’s been recorded by a whole band.
* Shibuya-kei is a microgenre of pop music or a general aesthetic that flourished in the mid to late 1990s. Emerging as Japanese retail music from the Shibuya district of Tokyo, artists purveyed a cut-and-paste style that was inspired by previous genres based on kitsch, fusion, and artifice. Hello! thank you for your hard work in sharing all Kalafina related news with us promptly. It's because of you that I've kept up with them. So, I've just subscribed Hikaru's new YT channel. What I'm worried is that she had 14k subscribers in her H-el-ical channel, and most of them may have been Kalafina fans but I'm sure there were new fans too. I was just wondering how Hikaru would gain back those followers. I had a thought too, I'm not sure how animation studios employ singers to sing anime tie-ins. But maybe working closely under an animation studio allows her the opportunities to sing anime tie-ins. ahhh there are so many possibilities with how this goes, and I do agree with you: she has reached a creative impasse with Gushi. Ngl I wasn't really a fan of most of her ballads. I hope that being a free lance artist allows her to engage with various composers and producers. Therefore we will see Hikaru's voice in different colours. Again thank you for your time and energy in providing us Kalafina content! <3
Tumblr media
Hi there! You are very welcome, it's my pleasure to share everything with you! I know it can be quite confusing to keep track of everything, I honestly run this blog for my sake as much as yours because I'd probably go crazy if I didn't document every new update.
For anyone who missed the announcement yesterday, Hikaru launched a brand new YouTube channel titled “Hikaru ch.” Be sure to SUBSCRIBE. The H-el-ical// channel does still exist but I wonder if they will discontinue it soon...They already deleted the H-el-ical// Twitter account so I believe it's only a matter of time till they delete the associated YouTube account as well.
Just like you I worry quite a bit about subscriber numbers. I guess her core fanbase from the Kalafina era will follow her wherever she goes. I doubt she was able to gain a lot of "new" fans in the past three years so hopefully she can manage to get close to her former subscriber number (which wasn't that high anyways if we are being honest). She really needs to step up her game though and post some videos or hold a live stream to promote the new channel. For some weird reason they already removed the introduction video which was posted last night, that's not a good look for a newly launched channel. If they are having some issues, I hope they can deal with them quickly.
Hmmm, yes, her connection to an anime studio could definitely benefit her. However, the studio she is "signed up with" doesn't seem to have any noteworthy projects to their name so who knows if this will help her in the long run. Maybe they can still help her make connections with other studios and productions so she can land a few tie-in deals. As a freelancer she will definitely have to rely on tie-ins more so than ever before because otherwise I don't see how she would be making any money...
I was (and still am) a big fan of some of those Hikaru/Gushi collaborations but towards the end, everything was just meh...I hope she can work with composers who can bring out the best in her. Hikaru shines brightest when she can do edgy and dramatic stuff. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

For a second there I thought I was having audio issues because the background music sounded abysmal XD But I guess it was just a bad choice of music (horror/psycho Christmas maybe?) because now they are playing normal stuff.
The studio is so sparkly, they have a gorgeous tree in the back. And Hikaru looks so pretty today with her hairstyle, make-up and red pullover. I think Hikaru is once again wearing the Kala pinkie ring!! BANZAI! On a random side note, I am such a sucker for slender fingers and well manicured slightly longer nails, Hikaru has honestly the most beautiful hands
Tumblr media
Talk corner: Time to play a couple of games. They start with the Caru-Uta game that came together with Hikaru’s 4th album “Story”. Hikaru explains how the board game works. The cards contain words (lyrics) which you spread on the table. Then you play a song from the album and the players need to find cards that match the lyrics. The more cards you find the more points you will get. Hikaru obviously has an advantage because she knows the lyrics by heart. Gushi is trying his best tho XD Cute to see them like this. The second game is one we can all participate in. They are giving a word and have to draw it in a minute. Then we need to guess. Ehhhhh? I just noticed there is a bit of a time lag with my video. Everyone was already saying their guesses in the comment section while Hikaru and Gushi were still drawing. Now it’s time for a gift exchange. Hikaru got a lot of body-care stuff for Gushi and in return she received a fancy brush set.
And of course, what would a Hikaru event be without a live goods introduction corner ^_^ The coaster looks better than I thought, damn, now I regret not buying it T_T A second order period for her live goods is starting TODAY so be sure to use this opportunity in case you haven’t ordered the goods yet. Period: 2021/12/24 13:00 〜 2022/01/10 15:59. Shipping is scheduled for the end of January.
Live corner: 01. Happiness (Story): Fits the Christmas vibe very well. Really enjoy this quiet acoustic version. 02. 地 – Side by side (elements): Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. 03. Kalanchoe (Blooming): Was okay, not my favourite. 04. Angraecum (Blooming): Pleasantly surprised to hear this. YAY. 05. Western Pop X-Mas Medley: All I Want For Christmas Is You (Mariah Carey) | Happy Xmas (John Lennon) 06. Japanese Pop X-Mas Medley: Christmas Eve (Tatsuro Yamashita) | Tone (Aimer) | Holy Hold Me (Misia) 07. Carol/Hymn/Disney X-Mas Medley: Silent Night | When You Wish Upon A Star (I love that she picked songs that were sung by Keiko and Wakana just a few days ago, coincidence? I don’t think so XD Also, so happy about “Silent Night”, I requested that ^_^ Poor Hikaru tho on that final “true” in “When You Wish Upon A Star”, that obviously didn’t work out as planned) 08. 紡-TSUMUGU- : YESSSS! Always the perfect song to finish her lives. Love this raw a cappella version. Forever crying at the “lalala” part T_T

■ To purchase tickets and watch videos, you need to register an account on the electronic ticket sales platform ZAIKO [Available in Japanese, Chinese, English, Korean and Spanish; Very foreigner friendly and easily accessible; You can sign in with Google, Twitter, LINE or Facebook; I signed in with my Google account but feel free to use whatever you prefer. They only needed my birthdate, gender and name, no Japanese address or anything.] ▼Check this test stream once you are signed up: https://streaming.zaiko.io/buy/1mvO:5lN:73deb [You are asked to purchase this “test stream” for free, it worked perfectly fine for me!] ■ Go to “Helixes” and click the banner you see above to purchase a ticket once you have registered a ZAIKO account [It’s probably best to use the browser version for that. I paid my ticket with PayPal, had no issue at all ^_^] ■ The video is only viewable from inside the Zaiko account which purchased the ticket and unable to view from a direct URL. ■ The video will start from whichever point you join the stream and you are unable to return to earlier content during the stream. ■ An unstable internet connection may affect stream quality ■ All live streaming purchases are final, there will be no refunds for any reason ■ Streaming tickets can not be transferred in any way.
