I captured some decent photos of my guppies during feeding time, as they decided to stay still.

After dealing with several challenges with guppies in the past, these two seem to be adjusting quite well.

While they don’t eat as much as I expected compared to my previous guppies, they’re gradually settling into a regular feeding routine.

Their food aggression has stopped, and apart from some occasional light chasing, they appear to get along well, often swimming near each other in the tank.

This morning's aquarium observations:

The prettiest of the guppy gents is also apparently the Bully In Chief who knows he's the biggest guy in the tank.

This means he and the other 4 lads need names. I'm open for suggestions.

Yes the ladies need names too but a) so far i can only safely distinguish 2 from the other 5 and b) at least one of the Magnificent Seven has already given birth to 2+n gupplets so population control measurements have to be taken sooner rather than later or i run out of names and space

The blue shrimps are relatively unbothered by the fish. The red shrimps seem a little annoyed (insert skyrim mudcrab noises)

Mrs Shrimp Ma'am is doing fine and her eggs are beginning to change colour. My hatchday estimate was around the 11th of February but this was counting from 18 days of egg-carrying (the middleground of 14 to 21 days), so we might see shrimplets sooner than that 🤩

Adding hornwort was the best idea of the month since it provides nibbling grounds for the shrimps and hiding ground for both the shrimbos and gupplets ���

Whenever I buy specific snails they die within a week, but the illegal snails that came with [Redacted]'s Vallisneria are thriving (I'm sorry for ghosting you [Redacted] but I'm still too scared of dating and I like you a little too much to treat our dates as Pleasant Conversation 🥺)

I keep fish and sometimes breed them (free fish hack). At the moment I have some beautiful fellows that are getting up there in age, so it's time to create more.

I separate all of my fish by their gendies as soon as you can possibly tell them apart to keep the population of my tanks where I want it, and to prevent inbreeding (and all of the complications that stem from that). These lads have effectively never seen a girl.

When I added the female to continue their legacy, they didn't know what to do. So they did what any respectable man might do in that confusing situation: ignored her and continued having sex with each other.

So preoccupied with one another are they that I'm honestly not sure if they will ever include her in any way that matters. Their bloodline ends with gay sex, and tbh, I kinda love that for them.

The g in lgbtq stands for guppy. 🌈

Since Percy can talk to sea creatures, I'd like to think that one day he passed a pet shop with all these fish screaming at him in agony. Since then there has been a giant aquarium in cabin 3 with fish. He converses with them daily when he's at camp. He gave them all names (they were delighted to hear his suggestions).

There is one grumpy grouch that always tries to eat as much food before all the other fish. He has to keep him forcibly apart in a tiny water ball during dinner. He named him Zeus. Percy doesn't give a shit. Poseidon knows and thinks it is hilarious.

Chiron, who takes care of them when Percy's gone, cannot understand them but he doesn't like the way they look so judgemental. They are very much gossiping about him to his face.

🌟 One Week With My New Guppies! 🌟

It’s been a week since I introduced these guppies to my cherry shrimp tank, and I’m happy to say they’re settling in well (mostly)! 🐠💕

Watching them swim past baby shrimp without even a hint of interest in snacking on them has been such a relief. 🙌

Shrimp keepers, you know the struggle! 😅

However, feeding them has been... challenging. After trying a variety of foods, they’ve decided NTLabs Micro Crumb is the only thing they’ll eat – and even then, only in small amounts. 🤔

This is unusual for guppies since they’re usually the definition of "eat anything that fits in my mouth"! 😂

There’s been some minor food aggression at meal times, but thankfully, no serious fights have broken out.

One of the guppies came home with tail damage from nipping in the shop’s holding tank, but I’m keeping a close eye on him.

No signs of infection, and I’m hopeful his tail will heal in a few weeks with good care. 🩹✨

If I’m being honest, guppies are the one fish I always seem to have trouble with in my fish room. 🤷‍♀️

But I’m determined to give these ones the best chance to thrive! Fingers crossed for a happy, healthy guppy journey ahead. 🤞💖
