COD Price/Reader Fics
John Price Brain Rot....
(NOTE: most, if not all, of these are femme reader)
1. Neighbors Series by eowynstwin - 19,635 words, 8 oneshots / complete, Neighbors AU, Friends to Lovers, Slowburn, Puppy Love CW: some parts feature NSFW
You move in next to Captain John Price, and together the two of you learn how not to be lonely. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
2. Gunslinger by BakuFlower, californicationist, captain_natey, thethingsthatimake, 102,668 words, 31 Chapters/Complete, Simp! CW: canon typical violence + Some NSFW chapters
You worked as a safehouse manager for the 141, hired by the infamous Captain John "Bravo Six" Price, the most feared soldier in the modern world. It had been months since you'd seen him, but now he was asking you to open your house for him and his men. Somehow, this time was different, and you knew he needed your help. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
3. A Designer Dress from Heaven and your Dirty Wedding Ring - halfmothhalfman, Mafia AU, 127,387 words, 20 Chapters/Complete CW: canon-typical violence, mentions of toxic relationship and sexual harassment, emetophobia
Your father had told you stories of the famous club, The 141, when you were a child; you remember the admiration— and *jealousy*— that laced his voice as he weaved tales of smoky backroom poker games and men who’d skin you alive for looking at them wrong. You hadn’t believed him then, assuming it to be like all the other fairytales and war stories he told from that worn leather armchair— exaggerated tales meant to teach you lessons he himself never followed. Now that you’re here, though… You’d expected better security. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
4. Double Vision - kivino, 1,913 words, Oneshot, Whipped John
John gets into a car crash on his leave and meets you - a cute paramedic who instantly attracts his attention. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
5. Cold-Blooded - IsabellaKR, 52,184 words, 13 chapters/incomplete CW: ANGST, mentions of abusive childhood, depression, self harm, some NSFW, enemies to lovers
John expected many things from his newest mission; but seeing the woman he was ordered to kill over a decade prior, now on his own squad, was not one of them. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Writers confident challenge! list your 5 writings you love the most! Reread them and tell yourself you are a gem to this world! and if you want, send this to the writers you like let them know how awesome they are! 💌
Feel free to answer whenever you can! I know you’ve been stressing!
It can be either WIPs or actual published fics!
Tats, I adore this question. I'm going to be that person and say "I love them all!" But I have a few I am giving a little extra love to right now.
The Price of Pegging. The only complete work I have published. A love letter to myself and my gender identity, wrapped up in some steamy hot smut. 😄
Everything else is WIPs, surprising no one who knows me. 😉 These are in no specific order.
Corporal Distraction - I love this premise. I love a "forbidden" romance and the consequences that come with it. I love that it's got a twist to it. I love the aesthetics and tweaks I've given both canon and OC characters while keeping to their original source material.
Brix - The first CoD fanfic I started. Inspired by @the-californicationist's "Gunslinger" (AO3) and Thing's "How Many Days I'll Bleed" (AO3) stories. I consider these two authors to be two dear close friends of mine as well. Also, a bit of catharsis for my shitty experience working in the orchard industry.
Museum Muse - Puppy play. Kink Dynamics. Fat OC. Art as a means of learning to be loved. Just...ooey gooey cuteness. (Needs serious re-working, but I adore the premise.)
Fruit Cocktails - I adore the idea of different species of bats being vampires. It's a fun premise and one I want to explore further. I just need to improve at my murder mystery skills. The layers of nuance and worldbuilding I have here are delicious.

Gunslinger (an excerpt from Chapter 05)
AO3 Link - MDNI
You and John Price had been playing a dangerous game of cat and mouse, but when you hide a pair of panties under his pillow one night, the hunter becomes the hunted.
... you left one lace thong under his pillow. It was white with a pink bow. The strings on the side were satin. Laying crumpled there, between the sham and the sheet, you looked forward to whatever happened. Good or bad. Any reaction from this man would be enough to satisfy your craving to see him undone. How far could a patient man be pushed?
The captain was downstairs, sitting at your table, talking over a tablet with Ghost. As you made your way through the small den, you eyed him shamelessly, daring him, and he saw you, a suspicious look on his face, though not obvious enough for anyone else to notice.
But you were both existing on the same plane, living your lives so closely to one another, vibrating at the same frequency, your atoms dancing at the same intensity, that even if he only imagined a word that he wanted to say to you, you’d know what it was. You’d hear it in the quiet parts of your mind. If he breathed too deeply or stared too long at this or that, you’d notice. Hyper aware of each and every movement that the other was making, stalking each other like wolves, hidden in the trees.
You headed upstairs and lay awake as long as you could, trying to stay up to witness his reaction. Maybe he’d be disappointed. Maybe he’d chastise you like you were a child who didn’t know better. Maybe he’d take your teasing too far. Maybe, and this was the worst one, he might just ignore you.
It wasn’t until you heard him crawl his way up the stairs that you heard his answer.
No one knew the sounds of this house better than you. You’d hid hundreds of people in its very walls. You knew every floorboard and furnishing by heart.
You heard him in the hallway outside your room, walking carefully to his door, and listened to him click open the handle. He was inside. You knew the moment he sat on the edge of the bed with the sound that the mattress made, sighing under his heavy weight.
You could hear his rustling, pushing the quilt back, and you heard him sinking down fully into the covers. Then, silence, but not the relaxed sort.
A sigh, ragged and long.
Another. Full of turmoil.
His feet swung around and touched the floor again, the wooden planks there betraying his movement. You thought he might burst into your room to politely deliver them back to you in that restrained, gentleman’s manner he had. But, he didn’t. He was just sitting there.
It felt like hours had passed before your ears, straining, caught his next sound.
It was another sigh, and then...  a groan.
The sticky popping of skin touching slick skin. Repeated. Iterative. Rhythmic.
The bed moved, barely an inch, rocking in place.
Wet little whispers revealed that his hot palm was pumping, steadily, down his shaft, using the source of fluid from its drooling head to ease the path. He rubbed it along his length. The wet noises became frantic.
More rustling of sheets.
He moaned louder this time. You felt the hair on your arms and neck stand up, shocked, awestruck. You were barely able to breathe.
His movements became desperate, the noises of a body that was working itself to a fever, growing more and more obvious as his reservations surrendered to pleasure.
The bed jostled. His feet pressed against the floor.
The grunting you heard was that of an enraged grizzly, panting roughly, blowing scalding air through his nostrils. You imagined his bearded cheeks hollowed from sucking in a breath, braying in a short, shouted cry. Face contorted with hot agony, his sticky release spilled from his rigid font.
Then, satisfied sighing.
Out of breath.
Spent.
Your blood was pounding in your ears, and your head swam with a loud rushing noise as your heart banged against your chest. It was too much to bear. Your dreams had become too real.
The bed creaked again. You held your breath.
Price was in the bathroom then, mere feet from you, moving around, running the water.
As you watched his feet cast shadows below the door frame, you saw him step toward you, hesitating. But, he didn’t touch the handle. He simply backed away and cut the light, keeping himself from you.

Anon, here's AO3 201, since P's given you a phenomenal 101 rundown. This all assumes that you have an account, so don't be afraid to ask for an invite code if you'd like (the site also has a waiting list you can get on - I think the average wait time is less than a week?).
You can customize the way AO3 looks to you when you're signed in. They're called "skins". I especially like this feature because I've made my text bigger and it's on a dark blue screen - so much easier for late-night binges. 😉 I followed this guide (on AO3) and it was easy.
You can subscribe to an author or a story (the button is usually on the right hand side) and get email updates when they upload a new section. No more looking daily for updates - you get the notification straight away. (Well, there's a bit of delay. Sometimes it's a couple of hours.) P blew up my emails with their upload of Here be Kink yesterday, but that's okay, I love 'em anyway. 😉
Bookmarking is fantastic if there's a story that you love that you want to come back to again and again. Remember though: Authors will be able to read the notes you include there, so don't be a jerk. You can also make it a private bookmark and no one will see it but you. (I've bookmarked @the-californicationist's Gunslinger and @syoddeye's For the Record so I can go back to both again and again because they're that good.)
Read Later and your History are great if you've come across a story, but you don't have time to dig into it right now - I have a bunch saved in my "Read Later" category. Find the Read Later button at the top of the fic you're on. History is available through your profile. Read Later falls under History when you go to read whatever you've saved - there's a button labeled "Marked for Later".
Kudos can only be given once per story, so if another chapter comes out, don't be discouraged by the red bar that says "You've already left kudos!" Drop a comment and include something like "second kudos" or "kudos again" (because you were going to comment, right???😉)
And if you end up in a fic that isn't vibing for you? Back out, babes (gn). No need to let the author know. Just close the tab. No hate or comment needed.
And share what you find! If the author's also on Tumblr, reblog their post about their fic here, or post your own review of it and tag them. (Same for Twitter). If you have friends in the same fandom, geek out about it with them and get them to leave a comment!
I hope you have a wonderful journey and find many good things to read and enjoy. 😊
Heeeeyyyyy p. I am an awkward soul with an awkward question, but how does ao3 work? I noticed a lot of writers are speaking of migrating there and doing things that I don’t quite understand LMAO. I tried looking into the website but honestly, it seems so daunting and I am a terrified chicken who would rather recede into the pits of hell than do something “wrong” on that website.
I dunno if you are the right person to request of this, but you are always so kind when answering questions so i figured who else is better than to scream into the void at?
Pls disregard if you aren’t interested in answering/don’t feel like it!
Have a great day/night/evening/tea time 😽
hi anon! don't feel bad for reaching out, one of my favourite things in the world is showing people how to do things (you know that chill coworker who goes "okay, so i do it like this..." when they show you things? that's who i want to be in the world). if my handy guide doesn't make sense to you, please please please feel free to come back and ask clarifying questions and i'll wrack my brain on how best to help you!
i'd be remiss if i didn't point you in the direction of AO3's guide on how to search and browse the archive first of all. it's a bit wordy so if that isn't to your liking i've made a little video below the cut on how to use ao3 on a laptop below the cut:
Warnings for potential flickering, scrolling motions and flashing.
[ID: A 3 minute video with no audio showing a basic guide on how to use AO3. /END ID]
so that's a pretty bare bones way of using ao3 as non-member!
step 1: search for the fandom you want to explore.
step 2: use the drop down menu to tailor your fanwork selection to something you might want to read by using the filters on the right hand side.
tags are the ingredient list of what you can expect to find in a fic, you can also search by using the tags if there's something in particular you've taken a fancy to (or you can use the "exclude" button to avoid seeing it - just like i excluded konig from my selections).
the rating system is used to filter out mature content, if you click on something rated M, E or Not Rated you should get a little warning at the top advising you that the work you're about to view may include adult content and you agree that you wish to see that content.
step 3: check the tags and summary to see what piques your interest (in my case i chose @boolger 's "a love letter to gaz" because i thought it was fitting).
step 4: click on your desired fic or fanwork and enjoy!
step 5: leave a kudos AND a comment (it doesn't have to be lengthy, it can be a little note to say "i loved this! thank you for writing it!) when you're done.
i recommend asking for an invite to join ao3 so you can see all the lovely archive locked fanworks (fanworks that are hidden from non-members) like mine! it doesn't take long to get an invitation and you can still browse the archive as a non-member in the meantime.
anyway, i hope this helped just a little bit for you anon.

🚨Cali Alert🚨
Hey all!
Over the next few weeks (ish...), I'll be revising and reorganizing chapters of my old fic, Gunslinger. Nothing too major has changed. There are just a lot of errors and inconsistencies, and that fic means a lot to me, so I want to fix them. I know some people like the original story, though. So, this is your alert to go and download it as-is.
I have also downloaded a copy, so if you miss the window, just DM me on discord (@/californicationist), and I'll send you the unedited file. No worries.
It's only available on AO3 right now, but after editing, I might cross-post it here. It's long as hell though, so maybe it's not tumblr-ized enough. idk. Advice appreciated on that.
As a side note, my family is going through a bit of a stressful week, so to everyone who has been so patient with me and my non-existent posting schedule (and the fact that I've been afk in replying to asks, DMs, etc), thank you. Seriously. Big hugs.
Your faithful feral feline,
Cali Cat ✌️🩷

https://www.tumblr.com/the-californicationist/743246985217359872/reblog-if-you-want-your-followers-to-ask-you what’s your favourite fic to recommend that people MUST read? And what is your favourite you’ve written?
Are 2 questions allowed?
I'll answer two if I'm allowed to respond with two! <3
If you haven't read i wonder how many days i'll bleed by thethingsthatimake, you're missing out on true Price/Reader art. It's magical. Right next to it, sharing the podium for first place is Licking Wounds by bitterfruit (@bitten-fruit). It's angsty and sexy and delicious. Can't miss it. I truly consider both of these works as a part of my Price headcanon and I almost always write with them in mind. Twenty re-reads later and these two stories are still inspiring me, not to mention, the high-quality work these artists are putting out is second to none.
My favorite Price fic that I've written is Gunslinger. It's my heart's work, and it's an ode to my husband (as strange as that is to say). My second favorite fic is actually one that I haven't even published yet. Some good friends of mine have been work-shopping it with me. It's called Ursa Major, and it's coming out next month. I can't wait to share it with y'all. ✌️🩷

Thinking along the line of safehouse fics and the inherent endings they have (that link references Brix specifically), I think Flowers from my Love might have a similar bittersweet ending.
I’m really just thought barfing. I’m absolutely open for hashing this out in DM’s or in comments or whatever.
Spoilers for fics (mine and other authors) below the cut. You have been warned. Don’t come for me because I spoiled it for you.
(I’m on mobile, apologies for not linking to your fics, authors I’m about to mention! 😘)
@the-californicationist’s Gunslinger ends with Price retiring with Charon. An apt ending for the two that had such a long slow-burn, thrown into chaos and forced to reconcile their actions against the big-bad.
Things’ How Many Days I Bleed is yet unfinished and I haven’t asked if they’ve decided how it ends yet. (I don’t want to know.)
Both were tremendously influential toward my development of Brix. Both are also Price X Reader/OFC in a 2nd POV. Brix is Soap X OFC.
It feels cruel to make Soap cut his career short to be with an American. He’s late 20’s, has a decade of service under his belt, and has hit the peak of his service on an elite task force. Even if he falls in love with orchards/winery life, I struggle with him just abruptly saying “nah, I’m out” - especially if Makarov’s still at large. (His death does not happen, but everything else in MWIII does.)
Maybe the best outcome for the is a long-distance relationship. But Annabeth lost her fiancé in her early 20’s, and her father 6 months before the story starts. I don’t think she’d be up for that sort of…abandonment? Intermittent visits?
So that makes me rethink the romance aspect of the story. Maybe it’s more about letting others in an supporting you than romance love. I don’t know. I’ll have to see where those two go, I suppose. But I think it ends with a letter of some sort. (It’s still going to hurt, even if it’s a bittersweet hurt.)
@syoddeye’s For the Record has two endings, both of which absolutely nailed the vibes of the relationship between Animale and Price. One an ending of “we cannot be together after everything” and one of “we are going to try after much healing has happened.”
FTR inspired Flowers. Hands down. No question. I will fully credit Sy in that, because they deserve it.
I’ve had it in my mind that Johanna goes through something akin to the Piccadilly mission. Had it written in my notes from day 1. Kyle comes to her rescue, but like FTR - what happens to that trust between them? Is it one built on omissions? I’m not sure.
I also don’t know if Kyle would give up his life on the Task Force for her either. Or if she would give up hers. Johanna isn’t as hurt as Annabeth is (Johanna has Pepper (service dog) and her company and that’s enough. Demi/ace vibes? Idk tbh.)
So maybe she’s made peace with it being a short-term fling. But again - what’s the revelation of Kyle’s job do to their relationship? Does it end with a soft hand squeeze and “my door’s always open to you”? He might retire in 5-ish years and come back to her. Or it’s just a tender memory they both hold close.
It’s much less of a healing fic in comparison to Brix - it’s more about meeting people where they are? I guess? Idk. I had the one scene in the city and the idea of the whole 141 next door and a flower farm and here we are.
Like I said earlier, I’m just musing on these two tonight. I’ve been wanting to write them, but I hadn’t really thought through the endings until now. And that’s what’s been one of my hold-ups I didn’t realize until I started tugging at the strings.

Hiii you def don’t have to answer this, but I want to create a masterlist, but I don’t understand how to insert the link and change what is says. Do you think you could explain it to me? Ty!!!
No worries! I create my links like this:
Type the word or phrase you want to appear as a link Gunslinger by The Californicationist
Go copy the link you want and come back to your draft.
Then, highlight the word/phrase, and select the hyperlink button. It looks like a chain, and it is the second to last formatting button, right next to the paint can.
Paste the link you are using into the pop-up box.
Press 'Done'.
Then, you should have a functioning piece of text that is linked to your story: Gunslinger by The Californicationist
You can also press on the link to edit it, remove it, or open it in another window.
I hope that I understood your question correctly, and I hope this helps! Looking forward to seeing your masterlist, anonymous author. ✌️🩷
