Fanfare of adolescence thoughts bcoz i just binged it lmao

Soo the scar Yu gained was like the symbol of confirmation that Yu is not going back to being an idol. Idols are at least half about looks, and as fucked up as it is, having a huge scar on his face would be tragic for an idol's career(also i have a lot to say about the agency ceo but thats a topic for another post). So now that he literally can't be an idol, Yu will obviously be a jockey. I just got here so ppl might have already pointed it out(or not, maybe im being delulu lol) but its been on my mind since he got it lolol

So, I saw people doing this back in January when the Crunchyroll Awards were releasing, and I meant to publish this at the end of January but got busy. So I’m releasing it now! This list will include the categories that Crunchyroll uses, but will not be limited by their nominations, and will also include some of my own categories at the end. Update [15/2/24] after the new PV's out:

Well, I was way off lol.

No veteran cast, no Chiaki, Totto or Soma.

The cast is:

Herman Greenhill: Takeuchi Shunsuke

Edgar Redmond: Watanabe Toshiki

Lawrence Bluewer: Enoki Junya

Gregory Violet: Tachibana Tatsumaru

I know Tatsumaru mainly from Gunjou no Fanfare and Ao Ashi. He's cute.

I think Shunsuke kinda suits this character, I trust him, he's a good seiyuu.

I'm a bit meh about Junya voicing that character tbh. I might change my mind after the season starts, but atm I don't really feel it :/ (I re-watched the PV a few times just to be sure about my feelings. And yep, still not feeling it, sorry Junya)

Watanabe Toshiki is a new seiyuu, seems like it's his first main role? Well, good luck!

Ok, what do we think? Are P4 going to be veteran seiyuu or a newer generation?

First thoughts on the visuals:

Edgar and Tamaki could be twins.

Herman is Malfoy (but his house animal is Gryffindor's lion XD). In the manga he looked like a combination of Germany and Erwin, but here...not really lol. But I'll wait to see him animated. Can't base my thoughts on stills.

Lawrence reminds me of so many characters but right now I can't make my mind of who exactly he reminds me of.

Gregory might be my fav just because of his emo vibes (and ace colors). Reminding me of Doppo a little.

Going back to the seiyuu thoughts: I feel like all of them could be veteran seiyuu, but that would be cool getting some newish seiyuu instead!

Do we think Chiaki could be one of them?? Maybe Gregory? Hmm...

I'm very excited to know the cast!

EDIT: I saw a comment from a Japanese fan on Twitter thinking Soma and Totto could be part of the new cast. I was also thinking about them! Because Edgar looks like Tamaki but also, if you squint, he looks like Moriarty, so that's why I thought Soma for him. And Totto - because Gregory reminds me of Doppo (but he could also fit Lawrence I think). So I'm adding those just in case. I'll come back to this post after they reveal the cast ^___~

Can I get recs for anime this season? I'm not sure what else is good apart from spy x family and ya boy kongming

Please don’t feel offended but I laughed inaudibly for a solid five or so minutes reading this because I had no idea that the English title for Paripi Koumei was Ya Boy Kongming. Also, I’m sorry for taking so long to reply! Life happened. 😅

Okay, on what I’m watching this season!

1. Kawaii Dake Janai Shikimori-san

Been following the manga for a long time now. It’s one of my favorite romance shounen. I see it everywhere whenever I go to Animate. The anime is a bit different from the manga because it’s going by chronological order, though! Definitely one of the best titles this season.

2. Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu: Die Neue These - Gekitotsu

I’m an absolute sucker for Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu and will watch as many remakes of it as they make. But if it’s your first time watching this one, I recommend watching from the very beginning and also watching the older titles of the franchise.

3. Summer time Render

Pretty solid piece up to this point. The animation quality is also one of the best this season. Reminds me a lot of Kagerou Project. Also, the opening theme is a banger.

4. Komi-san wa Komyushou Desu 2

I recommend you watch the first season if you haven’t yet! It’s very cute and funny. Even funnier if you look up the characters’ names and what they mean.

5. Aoashi

Sports seinen! First time in a while, if I’m not mistaken. You might see this and think, “Oh, great, yet another anime about soccer”, but this one isn’t about nationals or things like that. It’s straight-up about the path to becoming a professional player. It’s a lot more serious than an average sports anime, so if that rocks your boat, do give it a try!

6. Aharen-san wa Hakarenai

Another slice of life. This one is really good to watch when you just want to relax and not think of anything.

7. Dance Dance Danseur

Pretty nice adaptation of a really good anime. I’m not gonna lie, though - all the dance animes I’ve watched until now are a little bit underwhelming. Like, it feels like they all lack something essential, but I don’t know what it is. This one is no exception to that, but it’s still a good one.

8. Heroine Tarumono

I’m HaniWa trash. Their stuff is really cliche but, hey! Anything to support one your favorite once-underground creators.

9. Gunjou no Fanfare

Another horse anime but this one is actually normal. I’d give it a try just for that. Not a masterpiece but not bad either.
