An Unfinished Song (covered by ZETHIEL)

Here's my version of "An Unfinished Song" from Wuthering Waves!! I'll ramble a bit more about it under the cut hehe

So the 2nd verse, my part -- it's mainly from Rover's perspective, but there are some lyrics that can be read from The Shorekeeper's perspective too (like "You are my star.")

I had the thought to sing the motif of "De Anima" or the main Black Shores motif as well. The original lends itself to just repeating the same melody, but I wanted to make my own melody. The motif varies a bit from the original motif due to the chord progression of the song having those funky accidentals, but it works! I wanted to draw attention to that motif specifically.

I used SynthV to compose the vocal line for this, seriously I don't think I could've done it without SynthV. Super amazing tool. Shoutout to Yuma for being my near-perfect vocal match which makes it so much easier for me too!!!

Also midway through this I had the thought to include those "oohs" in the intro, because thinking about it from the viewer's perspective, it's likely they've heard this song before and they wanna skip ahead to hearing my version or how my voice sounds like. Putting my voice right at the beginning immediately tells the viewer about my voice and circumvents that skipping around kind of thing.

I've been playing a decent amount of WuWa lately and I really just do adore this game and everything in it. The music especially in Mount Firmament and the Black Shores, just amazing...
