❣ for Udeki! What is it like dating your right arm!
@gensokyogarden @warriorsofcrimsonrealms
So against all normal reason, Udeki, of all people, was the one who was the most popular. I've been saving her for last, mainly because I don't think I'll actually be able to come up with nine pros to dating the evil arm of Ibaraki-Douji. But I will try to come up with as many pros and cons as I can. So, let's go.
Pros:
While there's certainly no guarantee that Udeki will treat you nicely, even if you've somehow managed to romance her, you can be damn sure she isn't going to let anyone else treat you badly.
Being a large fragment of Ibaraki-Douji, it probably shouldn't be surprising that she has a bit of a flair for poetry, at least when she feels like it. Who doesn't like flowery flattery said about them?
Being romantically linked to Udeki will likely go a long way in the way of gaining respect among other oni in the Underworld - and it's likely, if you're trying to date her in the first place, that you could find a use for that.
For all her malevolence, it's very easy to have a good time when she's around, as long as she hasn't decided to attack you for some reason. Partying and drinking is as much in her blood as fighting is.
You are likely going to be (at least one of) the primary recipients of her gardening hobby - and if gardening is something you like, you can join her! She'd love that.
I won't go into detail here, but, uh, the bed will not be cold.
She will be more than happy to support you in whatever your goals are, as long as they don't conflict with hers. Even if they lead to people getting hurt, that's not a problem with her.
(7 of 9 isn't bad, right?)
Cons:
She's not just an oni, she's the malevolent side of an oni. The odds of her staying faithful to you for a long time are not very high.
Similarly, it's doubtful you'll be able to have her all to yourself. Udeki is not one to stick to strict monamory. Expect to have to share, at least somewhat.
She loves to fight, and if you don't, that's going to cause problems very quickly. On the other hand, if you do, this would actually be another pro. However, even if you both love to fight, you still might not be a fan of the way she doesn't hold back, even in a spar. She will expect you to try your level best to kill her too.
She is not very well liked by the powers that be in Gensokyo, and for very good reason. If you date her, you probably also won't be very well liked by them.
Just as she is happy to support your goals, she will expect you to support hers. And her goals, while long-term and difficult to achieve, would not be good for Gensokyo as a whole.
She will almost certainly drag you into all sorts of things whether you actually want to or not. Your approval is not exactly her greatest concern.
She is the type to get moody, and she's also the type to take out her moodiness on her partner. You'd best be ready to either avoid or stop her during these times.
If you're dating her, chances are that you'll probably be stuck in the Underworld, which isn't exactly the nicest place to live - though it's better than people give it credit for, that's mostly because of how little credit they give.
If you're not an oni yourself, it's going to be very hard to try to keep up with her drinking, and she's not going to be too concerned about your health. In her eyes, you're the one in charge of that. Try not to be pressured.

🎁 from Renko!
Send a 🎁present, get a "travel souvenir" // accepting
Huh... did she have anything she hadn't shared with Renko yet? There had to be something that may have slipped her mind...
Oh! Actually!
Give her a minute, she's turning around to dig through a box in the closet. Wasn't there...? Yes, there was--!
Merry holds up a large circular device - easily recognizable to vintage collectors as a movie film canister.
“I picked this up recently in an old second-hand store. One from my dreams, it had a lot of really old stuff that was like... out of production or obsolete. There's definitely something in it, but i'm not sure if it's a distribution copy or if it's undeveloped. I didn't want to risk anything if it's the later. Do you think the media clubs at school have any old film projectors or blackrooms we could borrow?”
Sorry for the lost merchandise, Rinnosuke. That's never getting returned.

There's an undignified squawk as Linette fell to the floor, feathered ears floofed up in alarm, encircling the godling's face like a halo. And then a defeated groan, as the younger girl made no attempt to pick herself up from where she fell.
She should have known that Lee would sense her within the servants passages - she may not have Mirra's nigh-inhuman perception, but Lee's ability to track was nothing to scoff at. She really needs to find better hiding spots….
“Lee…."
Oh, that's a pleading whine. Her next words were going to be almost predictable.
“Can't you give me a break? Just this once?"
Predictable because she does this EVERY time she's caught.
It's certainly a standard routine these days - 'Catch the Linette' had become a known rumor that had even made it's way amongst the citizens. The bird just did not like getting put into fancy dresses and paraded around town for every little festival and ceremony. Too much spotlight! She didn't like it! Councilwoman she may be, couldn't the others just handle it in her stead?
“Do we even need to do this ceremony? And why do I need to be there?"
Pidgeon Hunt
“Come out, come out where ever you are…” It was that time again. Time for Pyria’s now famous tradition… the Fire Bird Hunt. A joyous celebration of good good fortune and luck, provided that the beloved ruler, The Champion of The Flame, could be found before the opening ceremony. Lee’s brass heeled boots clacked loudly, echoing in the vaulted corridors of Hearthstone castle. The general could move like a ghost when she wanted to, hide in plain sight easier than someone under the effects of Invisibility magics, so that sound likely had an ominous tone for the prey of her hunt. She wanted her target to know she was there, and that she was coming for her. “Come now Linette…” The Champion of the Armies called out, maintaining a dialogue with her silent partner in this sacred tradition, “…Don’t you want to bring happiness and fortune to the people?” The knights pale green eyes followed the trail before her. A fresh scuff here, a bit of feather dander there, not to mention her intimate knowledge of her prey and how she thought. First rule of hunting was to know how your prey thinks, and she knew Linette as well as anyone in the entire kingdom. She knew her hiding places, where she would run to, her motivations, her fears. “It’s rather a lovely dress, made just for you by our finest tailors out of love and admiration for you. I’d hate to see the talent of your peoples wasted, they worked really hard you know.” She continued, lowering her voice as she closed in. She paused, keen hunters sense picking up on something out of place. “It will just be a little ceremony… and then you can wander around freely among them, I promise.” She was silent now, all trace of her presence gone as she approached, as if she had become a ghost. The dashing knight in her dress uniform approached one of the identical wood panels on the castle wall, reached out with a white gloved hand and with a press in the right spot, the secret door to the old servant’s passages swung open sending the feathered ruler who had been pressing her ear to it listening to her pursuer tumbling to the polished floor. Lee smiled down at her cute dove like friend and put her hands on her hips. “Seem’s like it is going to be good luck this month.. the citizens will be pleased.”

@gunbunnyroleplay || agent starly!
Sharp talons wrap around the aluminum backing of an outdoor café chair, the perching Murkrow staring unblinkingly, confidently, tauntingly, at the agent's face.
Bridgette wasn't sure if Starly could recognize her in this form, but she figured it wouldn't take much for the woman assigned to her files to make the connection. The bird's head would tilt, beak parted in a silent 'caw', asking an unvoiced question.
Did she have what it takes to put up with this infuriating antics of this witch? Or would she end up like her predecessor?

@gunbunnyroleplay || it broke the thread aGAIN wHY
Wait, really?
The bird would lean back upon being addressed by name, clearly startled. She hadn't been trying to hide her identity, necessarily, but she hadn't been expecting her to pinpoint it immediately. Perhaps she should be a bit more wary of this new agent?
.... Or it was a joke. Just a joke.
The bird would relax, it's feathers smoothing.... though a hint of bitter disappointment would linger in it's expression. It would have truly been interesting if the agent really had made that connection that fast. Startling yes, and dangerous. But interesting.
Oh well.
The bird's glance would lean down towards the bit of food, before hopping down to grab it. No sense in letting that go to waste - not to mention it's what a regular Murkrow would do.
But as soon as it was picked up, Bridgette would return to her staring. Not a single caw would leave her beak, just the tink of talons against plastic and metal. She couldn't risk speaking in an open area like this - the common street Murkrow rarely knew how to mimic human voice, much less speak their language fluently. So no. For now, only staring.

@gunbunnyroleplay Spooky, spooky no-- // repsonding to x
Oh, the witch is just... taking a very deep breath in... holding it for a suspiciously long amount of time.... and then... just releasing it. quietly.
Only going to bury her face in her hands for a few seconds, close her curtains, and turn her back to the absolute monstrosity in the garden.
See? There. Done. Washing her hands of it.
She is NOT dealing with the now extremely tackily-colored giant lawn gnome, that is no doubt going to now be warring with the spirit of her deceased great-aunt a random dumb child that simply won't leave her alone.
Someone please save her garden, it will not survive this...
(She looks like she wants to scream. But alas, she has no voice, she cannot.)

👍 Give me one for Agent Starly
Random Headcanons || accepting
Bridgette is fully aware that Starly has been assigned to be her 'handler', and probably to Starly's irritation, she'll dance around any topic at hand she's being asked about. Rather, instead she treats the agent as if she were another stranger on the street asking about the weather. The only time that tune changes is when Bridgette thinks she'll be getting proper payment in return for her cooperation. Anything can be bought from a witch with the right price - and a witch never gives anything away for free. Especially not when something that belongs to the witch - if not the witch herself - is what the buyer is looking to obtain. Speaking of which, the whereabouts of the last agent who was assigned to her? She's only ever answered that with a shrug. Though Starly's at least been able to barter a 'Didn't do his job right' out of her. Makes one wonder what Bridgette considered proper payment for that half-answer...
