Honest answer time!
It is not that hard, though expanding the mod takes time. I reached out to Retailsims back when I first uploaded the functional dog food mod, asking permission to incorporate their excellent objects to the mod, and they were kind enough to agree. It is still my plan to do so one day, but my capacity to create is greatly reduced because of disease turning my brain to borderline mush, so one thing at a time 馃槈 Top projects for 2025 is finishing window mod 2.0, and the "go for a walk"-mod as an alternative to community lot time project.
However if and when I do, I will not be using these as base, I will be using the originals. There are a lot of choices made here that I do not agree with and find mildly disrespectful. HChangeri did an amazing job, I love the original textures and I use them everywhere. As a creator, I do not think we should overwrite someone else's work without a good reason, and "I don't like the textures" does not constitute a good reason to me. In your game, you do you, but if you're putting this stuff out into the sims 2 universe, I cannot understand removing options in the process. No hate to anyone, that's just my opinion.

@pinkynonots2 requested dog recolors of the meshes I shared this morning, so I whipped some up. There are 81 recolors in total. You can either download them in a zip that has preview images so you can pick and choose your recolors or download a single (compressorized) merged recolor file containing all of them that you can just pop right into your downloads.

@grilledcheese-aspiration I am afraid I do not take requests, as stated on my page, and I have no interest in making this :) I like a bit of realism in my game, but more pet pee puddles is not something I'm looking to add.
But yes of course it is possible, and you have the advantage of both my pet treat mod and my older pet food mod to study to figure out how. All you need is motivation to learn and the discipline to sit down and actually do it :)

I think what you are really asking is, will I do it. To which the answer is yes, if I decide to switch from Sun & Moon system myself.
I have not yet decided if I want to switch, there are some really neat things in Lamare's rendition that I am in absolutely awe at. But as with any comprehensive mod, it takes time and energy to look at it properly and absorb the information. I think I would likely want to modify how a few things work in order to make it more to my liking, and right now I have other things on my to do list that feel more urgent.

Hi Gummi, I wanted to know if it's be hard to add the "elder" group to your "age groups for teleporters" mod, I use inge's cat teleporter and I'd like to have an elder option to move in townies into a retirement home. Would you consider a quick tutorial or a new version of the mod?
It is not that difficult, and actually something that's already on my list to do :) At this point I may as well do adult as well, because I'm sure that'll end up being requested too at some point xD I'm not sure when I will get around to it as my brain fog levels are pretty bad right now but it will come :)

hi gummi, thanks for being so kind and for all the great mods you鈥檝e shared with the community over the years. i particularly love your beer keg, and i was wondering if you had any interest in enabling them for teens? it would be such a fun gameplay addition for naughty teens to mess around with illicit liquor and get into some drama, except i imagine their tolerance would be lower than adults and get into hijinks earlier. have a nice day! 馃尰
Hello! :) I am glad you enjoy my creations! Just to clarify, the beer keg was originally made by simslice! The drunken shenanigans is all their work, I just made it refillable and added a much needed family check. I am not interested in making it available for teens, after all I made a mod to block teens from the vanilla juice bars haha. Teens drinking is not something I want in my game :)
But when I updated it I also went over and renamed everything specifically to hopefully make it easier for future creators to improve upon simslice's work, so if someone out there wants to attempt it, hopefully they have a slightly easier time of it :)

UPDATE: Nopke has released a new version of the mod that no longer conflicts with Crystal Ball Dating. Please re-visit the original post to grab this new updated and less-conflict prone version! :)
This one is very easy to resolve as it's only a text string edit. Here is a compatible version of Nopke's mod. Because mine adds more entries to the conflicting list, it is much easier to make theirs compatible with mine rather than the reverse, so that is what I did. You can remove the original version of Nopke's mod and use this one instead. It needs to load after Crystal Ball Dating package :)

Hello :) your Stuffed animal enabler and autonomy fix with traits incorporation mod naturally conflicts with Simler90's Toy Stuffed Animal Fix in their Toy and Game Mods. It sounds like Simler90's makes some pretty great fixes so I was wondering if any of them are or could be incorporated into your mod, and if not what the load order should be? Thanks :)
Hi! Thank you for the conflict report. While simler90 has popular mods, too many come with constant updates. For that reason, I am not interested in attempting to make compatible versions with mods of his because I can't rely on it being the final version and I don't want to be in the position of constantly updating mine to fit.
But I am absolutely happy to provide information to help guide load order choice! :) I had a look at UPDATE1 version of ToyStuffedAnimalFix, and right now the only conflict is conditions under which talk through interaction may happen.
My edits: - No autonomous talk through use is allowed if the stuffed animal is placed on a slot - Children can only talk through to toddlers - Autonomous talk through only available to teens, adults and elder if 8+ playful personality or have the nurturing trait Simler90's edits: - Removes asleep or off-lot Sims as options for the talk through interaction, preventing Sims from trying to talk to a Sim they can't actually reach to do the interaction - Limits autonomous use of interaction to 7+ playful Sims The other parts of our mods do not conflict, so you can use both. If you load mine last, you will get my edits and lose the two he adds, but I already cover his personality-related edits so what you lose is the removal of unavailable Sims as options. If you load his last, you will lose my edits mentioned above but you will still get the enabling functionality and changes to carry and play with.
Please note that children float when talking through to Sims older than toddler, which is why my mod limits their options to toddlers only. So if you elect to load simler90's last, you will potentially see floating children because my safeguard to prevent it is no longer there.
His edit to remove unavailable Sims as options does make sense, but it's not a scenario that has ever come up in my game so I do not at this moment feel that is something that needs to be added :)
If this is something you experience a lot in your game, I would really encourage trying to learn to merge mods. Guardian test edits like this one are a great place to start, in this case I would recommend merging his edits to mine because there's less to move over that way. A lot of the time merging mods is not that complicated, you don't have to understand the code to replicate it, you really just need to be able to compare and see what changes one or the other made, and then emulate those in the other one :) Some basic understanding of bhav editing buttons in SimPE and patience is all you need.

Hi! Same anon about simblender. Thanks for the answer, that's very understandable. And yeah, I (kinda? I guess?) didn't know about the visual teleporter. I've no idea why I didn't get that when you originally released your edit of simblender, but I'll do it right away! Sounds awesome and so much easier than looking for a name in the pie menu. Thanks so much!!! :-D

I'm glad you are going to give it a try! It seems like the least used teleporter option, at least based on sims 2 streamer sphere and what I see them use. Which is a real shame as it definitely does have some good uses. There's a reason I did all three, they all have their situations they are appropriate for and I use all of them in my game.
The one downside that Visual Teleporter has is that it is dialogue based which requires live mode to kick in. Cat/blender is helpful for when you wanna bring someone in immediately, but the portrait aspect of the Visual Teleporter is very helpful. It is essentially a phone menu, giving you the option of portraits or name list :)

Hi, gummi. Big fan of your mods and I think it's the first time I'm messaging you, so thank you very much for sharing your hard work! About your version of simblender, is there a reason why there's no adult option for the age filter of the teleporter? It's the one that I'd use the most, personally, so I'm still having to go through the many children, teens, young adults and elders in the menu to find the adult sims I need to teleport over to the lot. Would you consider this for a future update, if there's ever any, please?
Hi there!
I debated it, because I semi-predicted someone would ask for it. But in the end I chose not to, because I feel there are already ways to aid with this and I'm not that interested in using time (and more importantly, precious energy) on it when solutions already exists. Blender and cat both break down by family name, giving you a limited view already. And if it's an adult placed in one big family, such as townie family, then you have visual teleporter that will show you portraits or a scroll-able list of names that makes it fast to find them.
Coding-wise, it's not that hard, but given the number of adults in my game, testing this would be extensive and it's impossible to find reliable testers to help out. I've tried, most modders have, and for one reason or another, it doesn't tend to work out. I made the decision to not do this, because I do not have the energy. My best advice is be smart about what tool you use depending on the context you need it for. A lot of people are unfamiliar with the Visual Teleporter which is a shame because it is very handy, and that is what I'd recommend for hard to find adults :)
As of now, I do not expect there to be any further updates to teleporters. Next thing I would like to work on, if and when I have energy, is finishing up the 2.0 version of closeable windows.

Hello I have just found your mismatched underwear set in mts and I love them! I was wondering if you know if anyone made them into separates. I would do it myself but I'm not that knowledgeable with sims 2 cc making.

Hello! I'm so glad you love them! HystericalParoxysm did such an awesome job with those textures, they are wonderful basics. I have actually made them in to separates myself using meshes by Skell, but I hadn't decided if I wanted to post them or not. I'll take your question as motivation to post them, thank you for the encouragement! I'll be sure to tag you when I do get them posted so you see it :) It'll likely take me a little while as it's such a massive set to figure out pictures for.

Hi, I really like your open & closable AL Gear City windows mod, and a lot of your other recent mods too, thank you! I was wondering, would you ever consider making it so that it does affect the temperature of the room? Such as the open one decreasing sims' body temperatures like the ceiling fan does in Simler90's Temperature Mods :)
I'm so glad you like it! At the moment I do not have plans to make it impact Sim temperature, but I am working on a 2.0 that will feature automatic closing and opening based on outdoor temperature and weather :)

hi, i don't know if you take requests, but i'd love it if you could update your invisible medicine cabinet mod to add the interactions to any sink. is that something you'd be willing to do? sorry if not!
Hello! :) I don't generally take requests, but I do sometimes get ideas from Hacks & CC that you'd like to see!-thread on MTS. I know other modders do as well, so that's always where I recommend people go if they have mod dreams :)
But your question is not really a request, and more a follow-up question on an existing mod of mine which I am more than happy to answer :) What you are asking for, is something I have already made, so that makes me wonder if you perhaps have missed the 2.0 version of the invisible cabinet? :) You'll find it here. It's a replacement to the original invisible medicine cabinet upload, that instead creates a clone along with a global mod that makes sinks detect the clone.
If you are already using 2.0, and the option is not showing up, the most likely problem is a custom sink that was made poorly. Sinks should not have their menu in the package, they should pull from the sink semi-global code which then picks up on the mod I made. But back in the day it was fairly common to always include menu regardless of how EA set up that object, and when made that way the object is limited to whatever EPs the creator had when they made it. The medicine cabinet was introduced in Apartment Life, so a lot of old CC made that way won't have menu options for it if made the wrong way :) All you need to do in that case is open the package of the sink, and delete the TTAs and TTAB resource from the package (right click -> delete -> save), to allow the object to use the sink semi-global as it should :)
If you were using a maxis sink, and it still did not work, I recommend running HCDU+ to check for conflicts with the global mod from invisible mirror 2.0.

helloooo gummi! im in love with your custom memories book, im also a memory freak lmao i just love to think of a sims memory like a diary/biography of their life!! but im also a little obsessed with the br-portuguese translation of the game (my original birth language) it has so much of inside jokes so it kinda bothers me in english, if you have an file with only the texts of those memories i would love to translate it to brazilian portuguese <3 anyway tyyy for loving memories too

I totally understand, I started out with english and ended up adding swedish because my game is in swedish and I didn't like that they stood out as different. I didn't really expect anyone to want to do the work to translate because of the sheer quantity, so I hadn't set up a file for it. The user manual has all the titles, text and menu paths though so it would be fairly easy to put together one if there is interest. If you want me to do the actual adding of the text to the packages then I can set up a file like you suggested. I could also put together a tutorial showing people how to translate the files directly, for their own use or to publish their translated versions. What would you prefer? :)
