Making holographic artwork means you have to become friends with all kinds of body protection devices, many things can be dangerous when working with lasers and glass as raw materials. “It’s my version of it”, 2007, Mixed Media sculpture with reflection holograms. I made this piece back in art school, right after Dieter Jung retired, he was my Holography professor. It was like an asteroid from another planet where a civilization already grew and developed on it. A tiny planet where toys, videogames and dreams combined into holograms. This work sadly had to be dismantled in the end of 2012 as I moved from Cologne to Hamburg and didn’t have any space to leave it. My work with holograms started in 2004 at the academy of media arts in Cologne (KHM) and I have been able to work with many amazing artists, scientists and researchers from all over the world, people who love the perception of light and light itself in its pure wave form.
