On the way to the river my client asked "are there any northerns where we are going?" I said theres a chance we could catch a small one, or a catfish, or a walleye, but most likely we'll just be catching smallmouth bass. We'll it didn't take him long to hook a couple of nice bass... then a big pike... and then a big catfish. "well you might as well go for the slam and catch a walleye now" I said. I tied on a new fly I had just tied that looked like something a walleye would eat, and within 5 minutes he hooked another fish.
