i'm running late on getting this out, but i'm still reeling over the results of the @kirbyoctournament! i can't quite believe that starstruck- my pint sized waddle dee- made it all the way to the tippy-top against such intense competition. the roster was full of such an incredible selection of wonderful, loveable, and creative characters!

it's heart-warming to know that people out there really love my little wanya and her story, and i'll carry that with me always! 🥰💖

i am so grateful to everybody who voted for and supported starstruck (and i!) throughout the tournament, and i'd also like to give my thanks to everybody- moderators, participants, spectators- who made this community event as cool and fun as it was!! i met many new people and learned about so many wonderful new characters!

this piece in particular is dedicated to and features all of starstruck's competitors in the tourney, starting with jakkle doo from round one, right up to valfrey in the final round. it was a fantastic honour to compete against all of your OCs, and i look forward to hopefully seeing them around plenty more in the future!!

In theory i like the idea that rick is growing and developing as a person. In practice it ends up falling short though, because no one balances him out. rick is getting better while no one else is getting worse, and it causes the whole thing to end up feeling a bit stale. The biggest draw, at least for me, has always been rick and morty's shitty dynamic, but it barely exists anymore because rick has been so watered down.

The ideal solution is literally just to make morty into a bigger asshole. Essentially flipping the main characters' personalities would offer a wide variety of conflict into the show, and would also help keep it "fresh".

Instead it feels the writers are pretending that they can't possibly do anything with morty's character, that they have to keep him the same anxious idiot he was in season one. I've said this before, but it's incredibly frustrating to watch the show have no problem with expanding rick's character while struggling with keeping morty's heavily stagnated characterization consistent. Where rick has space to develop between multiple seasons, morty is constantly forced into one of two boxes (smart/stupid) depending on the episode.

When you think about it, Spheromancer is just a fancy way of say Ball Wizard. And If Instatainment weren't a bunch of cowards, this totally would have been the most powerful and forbidden combat art in Lea's arsenal.

I don't know if anyone else has been wondering why Big Finish have been using obviously photoshopped pictures of the younger Eighth Doctor on their covers of late but I've discovered the reason: though I don't know the ins and out apparently due to rights issues BF are no longer allowed to use images from the TVM (despite having done so for nearly twenty years previously) and have to photoshop other Paul pics instead, with varying results.

Naturally, me being me, once I knew this I had to go looking for matches, didn't I? Of course I did.

First we have very obvious photos from the Dark Eyes shoot, which often results in TVM Eight with stubble; not a great look.

I can't find an exact match for this one from Charlotte Pollard: The Further Adventuress but it looks similar to one used on the cover of Dark Eyes 4 so may also originate from that shoot:

The last couple, from Audacity and The End of the Beginning respectively, are stumping me at the moment, but I'm sure BF are probably sitting on quite a few photos they've accumulated over the years and never released. If anyone else recognises them (or the one above) feel free to jump in!

As someone who’s a f2p and someone who despite being a f2p, has racked up a good/ decent amount of DP (around 1100) without paying for anything I have no need neither do I want to purchase the 300DP that come with the date ticket. I may have considered if it was only the date ticket at a price where it was relatively low even, but when people tell me “it’s because you get 300 DP as well!” Yes I know and that’s what I don’t like. No one asked for the 300DP that came with it.

I’m sure eveyone just wanted the date ticket seeing as they would finally release a more romantic date option with your favourite character. And imagine having 3 favourite characters but because there’s no option to buy just the date tickets you’d have to pay almost $100 dollars?? Seriously??

I hope they consider giving the date tickets without the DP seeing people have said they’ve already voiced what they’d rather have through emailing them because otherwise I’ll probably ignore it and close the game for a while again :/
