Amelie
Protective-Dad Henry one shot.
Summary: Henry and you had a daughter when you were twenty years old. Now, Amelie is a teenager and has to tell his dad that she’s dating a boy.
Triggers: Talking about sex; young pregnancy (and the struggle of being young parents) - I think those are all the triggers 😁
You can find more of my writings in the Masterlist

- Please, don't make me do this, mom! - Amelie pleaded.
- You want to be treated like an adult, then act like one.- you said with a steady voice.
She looked at you angrily but begging for mercy at the same time but then finally obeyed your order and went into his father's computer room to share the news. As she started to find a way to tell her dad about her new boyfriend, you laid against the door frame to witness the conversation.
- Dad, I ... I... -the teenager began, trying to find the words that seemed to vanished from her head out of fear.
She and her dad were closed and she was the apple of his eyes. From the moment she was born, he went above and beyond to make sure she would have everything she could ever need and want. You two were a great team, making sure she was happy but did not spoil her too much and made her work hard on domestic tasks for her to pay for any unnecessary item she wanted to help her learn about the importance of valuing work.
Having a kid when you were only twenty was a challenge that you hope she would never have to face herself. In your case, you were lucky: you were dating the most wonderful man who saw that pregnancy as a miracle despite the difficulties it may bring with it. He was next to you every second he could and even on those times he had to be in LA as he tried hard to make it in Hollywood -many times he tried to quit and join the Royal Marines so he could support you and the baby, but every time you would encourage him to keep fighting for his dream-job since you were lucky to have a well-paid job as a secretary for your cousin who was a Doctor and thankfully counted with the help of yours and his mom to look after the baby girl while you worked. But, even if you were living apart for months, he would be there one way or another.
The last few years he had been busier travelling around the world, but he remained the same loving father and husband that he had always been.
For someone who would have done anything for his little angel, like renouncing his dream career or even risk his life on the Marines so he could give his family a decent life, it would be hard to digest the fact that she had a boyfriend. He may not be one of those authoritative dads, a controlling father figure, but he was overprotective. He would not shame his daughter for wanting a relationship, but he didn't trust guys. He lived his life in fear of that day in which his princess would found a guy: what if he hurt her when he wasn't around to protect her? What if he wanted her just for sex and broke her heart? Those were some of the worries he has had since she turned fourteen, he knew that this day was likely to happen.
- What's going on, Mel? - he asked worriedly as he stood up from his pc-chair and approached her to cup her face on his hands, inspecting her face to make sure she was ok.
-I... - Amelie took a deep breath and spilt out the words- I have a boyfriend.- she said and closed her eyes of fear - no because she feared he would get violent or anything like that; she didn't want to see the disappointment and pain on his face.
- That can't be possible! No, no, no... you're a little girl! - he exclaimed, frustrated.
- I'm not! I'm fifteen, dad!- she argued.
- Exactly! Fifteen! A baby! - he confirmed.
- I'm only five years younger than you two when you had me.- she replied angrily.
- Darling, I love you, but being a parent at that age wasn't exactly a walk in the park. We struggle a lot to make it work. Do you want to be in our shoes? - he questioned.
- OMG, Dad, stop it!- Mel shouted embarrassed.
- You're the same age that the girl from Taylor Swift's song Fifteen and you know what happened to that girl? She had a boyfriend and he only wanted to have sex with her.- he explained.
At that moment, you chuckled at the fact that he knew so well a Taylor Swift song - probably he got into her music to bond with his daughter who was a big fan of her music. They both looked at you as if they just noticed you there.
- See? I told you I shouldn't have told him!- the teenager reproached you.
- Did you know about this?! - Henry asked you surprised and disappointed. - Anyway, you're not allowed to keep seeing this boy.-he ordered.
- Go to your room.- you asked gently to the girl who was both angry and sad. She was about to cry, you knew it.
After Amelie stormed out of the room, you approached your husband who was now sitting on the chair, lost in his thoughts. You went from behind and leaned to hug him. He placed his hands over yours but didn't speak as he was still caught on the argument he just had with his little princess.
- Why did she have to grow up so fast? - he wondered sadly.
- I know.- you replied softly close to his ear.- You need to talk to her...you need to stop preventing her from seeing this boy or any other person she might want to date in the future.
He turned around to face you. Your eyes on his and vice-versa. His arms embraced you when you sit on his lap to be closer to him to talk more comfortably.
- Look, I know that you think you're doing the best for her and all you want to do it's protect her, but you're doing the opposite by prohibiting her from having a relationship.- you began to explain as you played with the few curls on his hair.- She's not a kid any more...she might be your little angel and she will continue to be so until your dying day. She'll never cease to be your precious Melie, no matter her age. But now, this is an important time in the life of a woman or any person: she's starting to have feelings, desires, dreams, etc and we need to encourage her to pursue them in a safe environment. If you act the way you just did, that won't stop her from dating, but she'll avoid telling you and you risk losing that close bond you work so hard to have. Besides, if she doesn't trust you to tell you she's dating someone because she knows you'll get mad at her, she probably won't share if something bad happens to her, if she's been hurt in any way, because she might believe you blamed that on her and how do you expect to protect your daughter if she doesn't allow you to know about her intimacy.
- But, that's exactly why I don't want her to date! She's young and boys are creeps and only think of sex. What if someone uses her for that o worse, forced himself on her? - he questioned worriedly. He was almost in tears by the thought of somebody hurting his little girl.
- Give her the benefit of doubt. I was around her age when I had my first boyfriend and yes, he was one of those who only wanted me for sex, but I was smart enough to realize that and I left him before anything happened. A lot of my friends and school-mates went through that, some were smart as I was, other not so much but learned an important lesson and few lucky ladies truly found amazing guys who were in love with them. I found you no long after that and you didn't want me only for that, did you?- you asked even though you already knew the answer.
- Of course not, you were everything to me.- he confirmed.
- Don't you think Amelie is special enough for her to find somebody like you?
- I guess.-he replied sighing, defeated.
- Don't lose the bond you have with her. Let her know that no matter what her dad will always be there for her. That she doesn't have to hide anything from you, that eventually, you will be ok with it and that you only want her to be safe.- you advised him. He nodded and then pressed his forehead against yours as he placed one of his hands on your face.
- You two are my entire world.- he said softly.
- I know, baby. And you are mine too.- you replied with a smile.
Henry kissed you and then he went to talk to his daughter while you headed to the living room to replied some work-mails from on your laptop. Later, your daughter came into the room and hugged you.
-Thanks, mom, you're the best!- she thanked you.
- You're welcome, sweetie.- you answered- You have to understand your dad... he's done the impossible to protect you and now he's scared for you because the world is dangerous for us, women, and he was a teen too; he grew up with other boys of that age who weren't as nice and he fears you might found someone that doesn't have the best intentions with you. He wants you to be safe, that's all.- you informed her and she nodded.
On Sunday, you organized for Tyler, your daughter's boyfriend, to come to have lunch with the family so you could meet him officially.
The boy was polite and well-educated. He had impeccable modals for a fifteen-year-old and seemed smart too.
He seemed to be intimidated by your husband, who purposely acted menacing -which made you rolled your eyes and chuckled.
You had to give credits when it's due: the boy not only survived the day with his girlfriend's dad but he actually managed to get him to like him - all things considered. He was a gamer and into comic books and fantasy books, he found something to bond with your husband

Chapter 27
Who's still reading this? Have fun!
CW : character death (This spoils a lot I'm sorry but I have to put it.)
THE ROAD SO FAR
Previous Chapter : What's behind door number two?
Staying in Shape
John Price
MacTavish Residence, Glasgow, Scotland
It has been almost three days since the culmination of the New York Attack and most of his contacts regarding Nero and Shepherd's movements were quiet. He was getting anxious to step back into the fight, but without sufficient intel, or even better weapons, they couldn't do anything.
Price scanned the room, everyone else started to pair up with each other, a dynamic he expected to happen anytime soon. With all the challenges they've been through, finding love within each other was inevitable. And Price was fine by that. Heck, when he was younger, he had his fair share of romance during missions.
With the thought of Nero and Shepherd resurfacing any moment soon, Price devised a plan, to keep his crew in shape and always prepared to deploy as soon as sufficient intel is presented.
With the help of Jack, they created a training and endurance exercise schedule, where the soldiers, including Price himself, would follow to still continue to stay in shape and prepared for battle. They asked permission from Soap who was more than willing to help, an excited grin all over his face.
"I'll help you set up." he said, gaining a nod from the old man.
"France will train at the basement gym." He added and Soap nodded.
From that moment, the team started training, improving their physical abilities and endurance. Weapons training wasn't possible at the moment as they left it all in Brazil.
Jack overlooked the team from afar, Samantha and Maxine were at the gym helping out France's version of the training. They did the regular set of training from standard 141 protocol, using everyday materials in exchange for some of the equipment Soap didn't own. Price also instructed a specific dietary plan for the soldiers instead of just eating whatever they liked.
While on break, the two girls, Samantha and Maxine approached Price with an excited look in their eyes. Priced raised an eyebrow and asked what they were up to.
"Everyone's doing their best and We both wanted to offer our help." Samantha explained as Maxine inserted.
"We'd like to apply as the team's dietician and health consultant. My resumé is that I have vast knowledge in cooking along with their nutritional information." She grinned.
"And Samantha here has little background on tending to physical wounds and pain. You could see how fast Alex's face healed!" Maxine added. Price was more than happy to accept their offer, it goes to show that they were willing to give whatever it takes for the people and cause they cared about.
"Alright. Guess you're both hired." he chuckled as the two cheered and made their way to their respective 'partners', probably out to share the good news.
Wiping his sweaty forehead with a towel, he looked around the main room where everybody was. Jack was by the office, looking up something on the laptop or probably just playing solitaire. Soap and France were at the gazebo, he could barely see them by the angle he's at but he couldn't miss that flashy mohawk.
To his left, he saw Samantha sitting on Alex's lap as she carefully cleaned Alex's bruise, Roach sat on the other end of the sofa, chugging a bottle of Gatorade while Maxine stood behind him, he could barely hear it, but it looked like the newly hired dietician was already lecturing him about the benefits of said drink, saying the word 'electrolytes' somewhere in the sentence.
He felt proud that this team stood by him ever since he made that choice. He was very grateful that he had someone whom he shared common goals with.
"Price. It's for you." Jack called from the office, causing him to immediately get up and answer the call.
"Aye, this is Price. Got anything for me?" he muttered.
"John. Looks like your friend is on the move." Kate Laswell spoke on the other end of the line, her voice was authoritative as always.
"Which one?" he chuckled, it was about time he received some news.
"Shadow Company. Looks like they're brave using the same car again. Same plate and all." she informed, giving Price the last route they went before going cold once again. It led them to an empty warehouse just by the docks.
"Just what are these bastards up to…" he muttered.
"I have no idea. Think you'll do recon? It doesn't strike as a threat to warrant an official team, this leads really calling your name, John."
Laswell hinted. Despite him being out of the force and one of Fbi's most wanted, Kate insisted to use such perk for further trapping the suspicious Shepherd.
"I worked hard forming the 141 and he easily disbands it like it's nothing…" she added, her voice sounded very bitter.
"Now now, Kate. Take it easy. We'll get him. He's bound to fuck up anytime soon. Keep in touch, mkay?" he said as they both said their goodbyes and ended the call.
"A little recon mission won't hurt, right?" he nudged to Jack who grinned proudly at the solitaire victory screen, cards bounced all around the edges of the screen.
John Price found himself unable to sleep. It was either he's actually excited to do some missions or he's too worried about what they're about to discover, what would Shadow Company be up to and what is the quiet Nero planning behind the scenes? His thoughts raced to a dozen possibilities, all calling for drastic measures and sacrifices. He knew he had allies by his side, allies that are always ready to do whatever it takes to fix this mess.
He lazily dragged his feet to get a glass of water in the kitchen, despite being huge, the house was awfully quiet. Too quiet that he could hear every soft rustling from the halls.
He wasn't one to eavesdrop but he couldn't help but hear soft murmuring near MacTavish's bedroom.
"So.. um.. same time tomorrow?" said a low Scottish voice a chuckle followed. It was obviously Soap and Price thought only enemies were doing something behind the scenes.
"You wish.." a female voice giggled.
"But seriously… Thanks for tonight John." she added.
"No problem, Francine. So.. what's stopping you from staying overnight?" he chuckled. Price knew this was wrong but his glass of water was still half full.
"You know that I'd love to… but Maxine also needs me right now. Especially that she's slowly recovering bits and pieces of the past." she reasoned and Price knew it was time to head back to his room quietly.
Maxine Winters
MacTavish Residence, Glasgow, Scotland
It felt real. She looked around and felt that this was more than just an ordinary dream. The vision was too dark with a small ray of light peeking from the slightly ajar door.
She knew where this was. She liked hiding here, her parent's closet.
She was waiting for Francine to find her, Francine always knew where she hid. But in this certain memory, she wasn't there.
She giggled quietly and hushed herself as soon as the door opened, France was going to find her. But instead, what she heard was her Dad saying words of assurance followed by heavy breathing. She was curious enough to peek through the small opening.
Her dad carried her Mom to the bed, his hands held hers tight, wiping the sweat off her forehead as her chest rose and fell quickly, her breath was labored and her eyes looked tired.
"Hang in there, love. The doctor's on the way." his father assured, making his wife comfortable as they wait for help to arrive.
"I don't think I can make it anymore…" She whispered.
"No no no. Don't do this to me Coraline, don't you want to see our angels grow up?" he sobbed, tears fell on her hands as he kissed it. Maxine remained still, she wanted to cry but she just sat inside the closet, peeking, frozen in a mix of fear and worry.
"I do , Love … but it looks like my body can't make it to that day… I'm sorry…"
"Don't! Please Coraline, stay strong, for me… for the kids…"
"I am… and I know that you know it." she exhaled, panting heavily after the last sentence. Her Dad hugged her until her breathing stabilized, while Coraline weakly raised her hand and hugged him back.
"Promise me you'll see the kids grow up…
Promise me to tell them how much I love them every single day…
And promise me that you'll never forget how much I loved you… Francis Maximus Winters." tears fell from her tired eyes. Her dad held her cheek and wiped it off, sobbing as she slowly closed them.
"I'm not sure if I could keep all of those promises… but I will try… I love you Coraline Winters, I always have and I always will, until the time we'll meet again." he muttered. Maxine witnessed it all, the way her father's face frowned when he realized he just lost his wife. It was one of her saddest memories.
~
Maxine gasped and opened her eyes, touching her face as soon as they opened. Tears. She was crying while asleep. She flicked the lamp and looked around her, France wasn't around. Just as she pulled the sheets so she could leave the bed, the door knob slowly turned and a soft creak was heard. It was Francine.
"France!" Maxine gasped and immediately ran to her side, hugging her tight as she began crying. France smelled different, almost masculine, but she didn't mind.
"Max! What happened? Are you okay?" France quickly hugged her, rubbing her back as she quietly bawled out her emotions.
"I saw… " She panted.
"I saw… Mom…"
"Mom died…" She exhaled as Francine escorted her downstairs to the kitchen, grabbing a glass of water to calm her heart.
"You were in the closet. We were supposed to be playing hide and seek." France muttered as Maxine turned to her.
"Francis… Maximus Winters." she recalled.
"That's dad's name. It's quite long, right? Mom actually liked him because of it." France enlightened, trying to make Max calm down.
"Yeah… is he ?" Max asked.
"Yeah… but he's kinda forgot about us now. Every time we visit he just looks for Coraline."
"Mom."
"Yes."
"He kept his promise." Max said.
"Huh?" France tilted her head.
"Mom's last words. Promise me you'll see the kids grow up…
Promise me to tell them how much I love them every single day…
And promise me that you'll never forget how much I loved you…" Max recalled from her dream and as more words were added, France's sobs were louder.
"He… he did them all…" France cried as they both hugged each other. And it was the moment that Maxine remembered what France looked like when they first met, her smile… It was the smile of someone who was finally reunited with her only family, and it was painful how the only ones she could cling to couldn't remember her.
"What's that smell?" Maxine asked as she killed the mood of the sisterly hug. France's face turned red, even in the dimly lit room, Max could tell that she was blushing.
"N-Nothing… I don't smell anything." She laughed nervously.
"I swear I passed by that scent somewhere…" she looked at her suspiciously and laughed, shrugging it off which actually made France relax her shoulders.
"Let's go back to sleep." Maxine invited her sister and they both got back to their room.

Notes: I highly recommend you listen to What If by SafetySuit either before reading or while reading because it fits this chapter so perfectly it took me half an hour to choose which lyrics to use.
"If it makes you sad at me, then it's all my fault and let me fix it please."
"You know your problems won't go away if you hide from them, right?" Lisa asked without looking up from her magazine.
"You know Tiger Beat is a child's magazine, right?" You asked without looking up from your spot on the floor.
Lisa closed the magazine loudly. She huffed and crossed her arms, "As soon as this baby gets out of me, I'm kicking your ass."
"Then who's going to feed Jennie while you're in the hospital recovering from your injuries?"
"I can feed myself, thank you very much."
"I'm not sure you know your left from your right sometimes."
"You're mean when you're scared and upset." Jennie's nose scrunched up. She is not afraid to admit her feelings were a bit hurt. She knew her left from her right, but she was definitely lying about being able to feed herself. She can't cook to save her life.
"I'm not scared or upset."
"You're a pathological liar, too."
"Ladies, ladies you're all pretty! Now, will you shut your traps. My blood pressure is spiking because all of your damn yapping."
"Sorry, mom." Everyone apologized. Even Kameron, who hadn't even been in the original conversation.
All five of you were packed into the medium sized hospital room, save for George whom had to return to work that day.
You sat the closest to your mother, Jennie and Lisa sharing the small cushioned bench built under the window. Kameron sat in an extra plastic chair directly under the suspended 19 inch television, his laptop on his lap currently being used to hack into the hospital's wifi.
"Y/N, apologize for calling Jennie stupid." Maria admonished as she fiddled with the television remote. The buttons were huge, that wasn't the problem. The problem was that the hospital seemed to have only two working channels. Fox News and...oh, the other one just lost signal. Just Fox News.
Maria opted for turning off the television.
"I rather not." You answered plainly. Your knees were tucked under your chin and you still stared at that spot on the linoleum floor.
Maria swatted your thigh.
"Y/N Ariel Y/LN."
You just grumbled.
"Your middle name is 'Ariel'? Like the mermaid?" Jennie started to laugh loudly. She immediately stopped upon the shoe hitting her square in the gut.
"No. Not like the mermaid, Knothead." You gestured for Jennie to give back your shoe. Jennie did so with a scowl.
"Why is she being so mean?" Lisa pouted.
Maria huffed, "Her heat's about to start. So, she's grumpy. Also, she got herself into a unforgiving situation and it's all starting to unravel in front of her." Maria looked as though she had even more explanation to give but thought better of it.
You eyed your mother suspiciously, "How'd you know all that?"
"Mother's intuition."
Lisa's eyes squinted in determination, "Time for 'Operation: Just Pick One! Damn!'."
Everyone nodded along in agreement except for you.
"I've got the Pros and Cons T-Table pulled up!" Kameron gestured to his laptop. Lisa gave him a thumbs up.
You stared at your omega brother, "What do you know about any of this?"
"Oh, Lali and I talk once a week about you because you don't tell us anything. We were going to stage an intervention within the coming week if all of this hadn't happened." He said as though it was obvious.
You just rolled your eyes. Your brother knowing your business was the least of your problems at this point.
"Okay, but if we're going to have this conversation, Jennie has to leave."
"What? Why?"
"Because you're an alpha and you wouldn't get it."
"Try me."
"...Fine."
Lisa clapped excitedly, "Yay! It's finally happening. Kam, make sure you share the spreadsheet with your mom and I." She pulled her MacBook air out of large handbag and then delicately placed Maria's laptop on her overbed table.
Kameron nodded just as excitedly. Maria also nodded appreciatively as the group got their data together.
You wondered when your life got this out of hand.
At least Jennie looked just as lost as you.
"Um, babe? Is all of this necessary? I think you're scaring-"
"Shhhhhh, honey," Lisa blindly pressed a few fingers against Jennie's lips, "I know exactly what I'm doing."
"...ok..." Jennie looked to you with a mildly frightened look on her face. She shook her head slowly as if to say 'I tried. I am so sorry for what you're about to go through."
"Okay. First question! Who have you thought of more recently?" Kameron asked as he typed furiously on his HP.
"I'm not sure what any of this is going to help."
"Answer the question!" Kameron urged.
"God! I'm thinking about them both constantly, but I guess, Rosé because I spoke to her last."
Kameron nodded resolutely and continued to type.
"Next question, if they were both drowning, and you could only save one, who would you save?" Lisa asked, her eyes narrowing intensely at her best friend.
"Jennie, do you feel like this is a trap? Because I feel like this is a trap!" You inquired. You scooted your chair further away from everybody.
Jennie slowly pulled her arm from behind her wife, she then scooted away from her and to the opposite end of the bench, "Yes. This feels exactly like a trap."
"Okay, you don't have to answer that one." Maria glared at Lisa who just shrugged.
"How about this one? Who do you miss the most?"
You threw your hands in the air in exasperation, "Lali asked me that months ago! Don't you think if it was that simple I wouldn't be in this situation right now?! I miss both of them because they won't fucking talk to me! And I don't blame them. I wouldn't want to talk to me either." You sat back into your chair with a watery sigh.
"Can I give it a try?" Jennie raised her hand sheepishly, "Without all the spreadsheets and interrogations." She directed the second part at three specific people.
The three specific people all reluctantly closed their laptops.
"Everyone else is, so why not?"
"Well, first. I think you need to lay off yourself a bit. Yeah, you put yourself and them into a sucky situation, so what? Get over that. There's no going back to change anything, so why wallow in it? Relax and forgive yourself." Jennie spoke softly, her forearms resting against her thighs as she leaned forward.
Your shoulders sagged just enough to let Jennie know she was getting through to you.
"I'm sure you know what traits you value in a partner, and I'm not going to ask you what those traits are because I'm sure Lisa would start to log your answers again. Besides, it's none of our business." Lisa glared at Jennie.
"You just have to apply those traits. Organize your morals which you have clearly been fast and loose with lately. Ask yourself questions like 'Are you really ready to be a family woman? A mother?' And 'Are you okay with your mate having her work really high on her priorities list?' Think about what you want. Think about what you need. Think about who would be the best alpha for you. And then when you have all those answers to all those questions and you're all thinked out. Stop thinking and just go talk to her." Jennie smiled softly as you nodded slowly.
Lisa stared at her wife, her mouth wide opened, "I have absolutely no idea why, but that was the sexiest thing you have ever done." Jennie blushed heavily.
"Yeah, Jen. When did you get to be so smart?" You teased.
"I have a B.S. in Biochemistry from NYU." Jennie deadpanned.
"Yeah but you're a lounge singer. It's not like you're doing anything with it."
"Alright, you got me there."
"Knock, knock. Hello, Mrs. Y/LN. Your discharge papers are ready." The doctor explained as she stood at the door, not wanting to intrude.
"Oh thank God! I was going to jump out the window if it had been another hour."
"Mom!"
"What? You would've too. Now shut up and help me into my clothes."
You did as told.
~•~
Once you were sure your mother was settled at her home with your father. You went back to yours.
You sat heavily on your couch.
Jennie said to think. So, that's what you were going to do.
In the back of your mind, you knew who it was supposed to be the minute Jennie finished talking.
Sometimes, you just need to be told to get over yourself and put things into perspective.
But you chugged on anyway.
If only to double, triple check.
Some thoughts involve Jennie's suggested quandaries and others you came up with all by yourself.
It's about 5 minutes in that you're already noticing a very clear pattern. The same name keeps coming up. Amid 'Yes' and 'Nos' and 'We're just going to have to work on thats'.
It hit you so harshly you're not even sure why this was a struggle to begin with. The revelation just about sucks all the nagging anxiety and subsequent energy out of your brain. This must have been the "thinked out" part Jennie was talking about.
That meant the next step was to stop thinking.
It's easier said than done, but you managed.
The last step.
Just go talk to her.
You nodded with finality.
You were going to do just that, but first you needed to fix something.
~•~
"I'm sorry." You said. You may be done feeling sorry for yourself, but that didn't mean you couldn't feel sorry for others.
"For what?"
"It-I can't keep doing this to you. It's not fair."
"I-I understand, I guess."
"I shouldn't have led you on. Made you think-"
"It's okay, Y/N. It really is. But I'm going to need some time before we can get back to normal if I can ever do that, with you again."
"I get it. I'll see you...later?"
You don't get an answer. Just a pained look and then a sort of wobbly shrug.
You have a feeling that's all you'll get from her for a while. And surprisingly, you're a little more okay with that then you thought you would be.

thanks for keeping us sane through covid, do you mind doing a liitle risque bryce x mc 44. “You can’t expect me to just drop everything anytime you call.”? where MC keeps pretending like she doesn't have feelings for bryce but can't stop hooking up with him???
Bryce stares blankly out at the train tracks. The T station by Casey’s apartment is mostly abandoned this early on a Saturday morning, and according to the announcement board, he has twenty more minutes to wait before the first train of the day.
But he couldn’t just lay in Casey’s bed any longer, not when he knows that she just views him as a hook up, as stress relief. Casey clearly doesn’t want anything serious with him, and Bryce thought he was okay with that at first. After all, it’s not like he doesn’t like to have fun. But as he got to know the diagnostics intern more, he wanted more.
Bryce wants to take Casey out on actual dates. He doesn’t want to sneak out of her place so her roommates don’t see him. He wants to be able to openly kiss her at work. He wants a lot of things it seems he’s never going to get.
Bryce absentmindedly scrolls through his phone as he waits. His reddit browsing is interrupted by a call from Dr. Casey Valentine herself.
He can’t bring himself to outright ignore her. “Hey.” He greets into the phone.
She clears her throat, but when she speaks she still sounds sleepy. “Hey, where’d you go?”
“Heading home.” Bryce answers shortly.
“It’s like.... 5:00 in the morning. Is the T even running?” Casey questions. She lets out a long yawn. “You should come back. I wasn’t done with you yet.” She’s using the sultry voice that usually has him at her beck and call. But after the chat conversation he saw on her laptop screen this morning, it’s lost its effect over him.
“You can’t just expect me to drop everything anytime you call.” Bryce replies, unable to keep the irritation out of his tone.
“Woah, where’d that come from? Bryce, are you mad at me?” Casey asks, sounding hurt.
“Does it matter? Since, you know, this, us, it’s just good sex, right? No feelings?” Bryce returns his own question, tone harsh.
Just then, Casey’s laptop alights with a new message, and her heart sinks when she rereads the messages Bryce is referring to.
Bianca_Marie_92: Who’s the hottie in your pictagram story?!?! I see those 80 hour weeks ain’t slowing your roll 👏🏾
C_Valentine: there are certain things I can make time for 😉
Bianca_Marie_92: damn girl, just stalked his page. I’d make time for hottie surgeon with a 6 pack too. So, you bringing him home to meet your family and friends anytime soon?
C_Valentine: it’s not like that. I like him, but it’s nothing serious.
Bianca_Marie_92: What?! Why?! what’s wrong with him?!
C_Valentine: nothing is wrong with him, I just don’t feel strongly enough to let him distract me from what I came out here to do. But I can definitely spare a couple hours here and there to let off some steam. He’s amazing in bed.
C_Valentine: hey ive gotta go. Bryce is outside.
Bianca_Marie_92: damn, I’m jealous. Have fun! 🍆
Chat ended
4:45 AM
Bianca_Marie_92: heyyyy, you up?! Just got back from the club and you’ll never guess who I saw.
Bianca_Marie_92: oh yeah, you’re on the east coast and it’s like 5:00 am. Time differences are so hard when you’re drunk.
Casey swallows heavily. “Bryce....”
“Save it Casey. It’s fine. No strings, right?” He hangs up without giving her a chance to explain.
...
Follow up: Batting Cage

so, in light of recent events, people have been discussing when they think Dean and Cas realized that they were in love with each other. While I 100% believe dean realized in purgatory, I dont think Castiel realized until Dean broke Naomi's connection.
BUT!!!!
I also think that is around the same time Sam realized it too. Obviously Charlie already knew ( " what about Castiel, he seems helpful and..Dreamy" she's a lesbian. That comment wasn't for Her!") I think Charlie was the one to point it out to sam and I think the two of them agreed to keep it to themselves since neither of those two would have been able to handle that information. So, I wrote a little thing about how I think it went down.
I also wanted to give myself an explanation for those wierd looks and mystery note from the end of the episode...so yeah...here's that.
Sam hobbled down the hall to the guest room, his hand still throbbing from knocking Dean unconcious . It was…worrisome, to say the least, that he was having this much trouble with healing from such a minor injury, not to mention the other things that were happening to his body; the fatigue, coughing up blood. Troubling, but, as much as he hated to admit it, worth it. Dean had been pissing him off more than usual lately anyway. It wasn't just the trials. Sure, he was frustrated with Dean for thinking he wasn't strong enough to handle them (he had fought against Lucifer in his own mind for christ's sake) but it was everything else too. His loyalty to Benny still didn't sit right with him. He had been so quick to kill Amy, just because she was a monster. He didn't care that she was just feeding her kid. She was just a monster to him. But for some reason, Benny got a pass. Sure, the guy saved both their asses, he was grateful for that, but even Bobby knew it was wrong.
And then there was Cas.
Sam wanted nothing more, than to tell Dean that he should have learned his lesson the first time with the Angel. It wasn't like he didn't like Castiel. Of course he did. He was appreciative of everything the guy had done for them. Dean was right that he had saved their asses more than once. It was just….at the end of the day, whether they liked him or not, Castiel had betrayed them. He understood that perfectly. What he couldn't understand, was why dean was so suprised by him doing it again. Hell, Dean had been the one to bring up that fact that the guy wasn't acting right since he got back and yet, there he was, praying to him, putting his trust in him again. It was maddening, to say the least. He had tried to talk to his brother about it, but Dean immediately shut down.
So, yeah, his hand was still hurting, but it was damn worth it.
He turned the corner to find Charlie stuffing her things into her duffle. He knocked on the door frame with his uninjured hand. "Hey, there."
"Sam." She half smiled, when she turned around, her eyes still a little bleary from crying. "Hi, I'm just…just packing up to head out and…" she sniffled and plopped down on the bed, covering her face as she began crying anew.
Sam walked into the room and pulled up the desk chair, sitting down in front of her. "Dean told me what happened, while you two were under." He said. "I am so sorry about your mom, Charlie." He placed his hand on her shoulder as she began crying harder. "I know how hard it is to let go like that…"
"Dean was right," she sniffed. "I needed to stop holding on."
Sam let out a bitter scoff and pulled his hand back, squeezing both hands between his legs. "Yeah, Dean's always right, isn't he? Too bad he can't follow his own advice."
Charlie looked up, her eyes sad and confused. "Holding on to my mom was the reason I was stuck there. If he hadn't made me let go, I would have died.we both would have."
Sam shook his head at himself, trying his damndest to let go of his own bitterness to be there for his friend. "Ya, I know. I'm sorry…just…I know you're hurting right now, I just want you to know I'm here for you."
Charlie sniffed again, wiping her arm across her face to dry it before leaning back and staring at Sam. "I don't get it." She said, as firmly as possible.
Sam, leaned back and shrugged. "Me neither, really. I always thought all djinn fed off happiness. It's like every time we figure stuff out, something new comes along to throw us off our game."
"Not that." Charlie said, waving his statement off. Sam looked at her, confused, not sure what she was referring to. She took a breath and pulled a book out of her duffle throwing it on Sam's lap. 'Mystery Spot' By Carver Edlund. "You say these books happened in real life. That everything written in them actually went down…but the past two times I've been around you guys…you certainly dont act like you do in the books."
Sam skimmed the first page of the book and chuckled, tossing it back on the bed next to Charlie. "Yeah, well, things have just been different, I guess."
"So, you used to love and support each other, no matter what and now you just, what? Stopped?" She asked.
"It's…" Sam scoffed and shook his head. "things are just, more complicated now…"
"You maybe, wanna elaborate there buddy?" She asked. "I may be a genius, but a mind reader, I am not."
Sam let out a breath and scrubbed a hand through his hair. He figured it might feel better to at least get something off his chest. "To be honest Charlie, I dont think Dean is cut out for the job anymore."
"Why not?"
"His judgment, for one thing." Sam answered. "I don't know, just ever since he got back from purgatory… he's been…it's like he can't think straight anymore. He used to be no nonsense when it came to killing monsters and only trusting people he knew he could trust and now… I mean, I get it. Purgatory was rough on him, but the guy has literally been to Hell and back. I don't see why this time is any different."
"What do you mean?" Charlie asked softly.
"I mean like, being friends with a freaking vamp." Sam answered, coldly. "Yeah, Benny wasn't like the others, and I get the whole 'brother's in arms' aspect, but it still doesn't make sense." He waved his hand, gesturing back at the book before letting it drop. "That Dean? That Dean would have never put his trust in a monster. That Dean wouldn't let people back into his life that had screwed him over, and now…I don't know, now it's like he just doesn't care about letting people in that who could hurt him, or…people who already have."
"So, it's not just about the vampire." Charlie said. "Who else has Dean been trusting that you don't think he should?"
Sam gritted his teeth and shook his head. "Cas really messed him up Charlie. I mean, the guy already turned his back on us once and Dean just let him back into our lives like nothing even happened."
"Ah." Charlie said, with complete understanding. "Okay, I get it now."
"Get what?" Sam asked.
"I get why Dean has been acting wierd, duh." She said, like it was obvious. Sam sat, staring at her, trying to peice together what puzzle she seemed to have completed. "Oh, my God. Do you really not see it?" Charlie laughed.
"Um, no?" Sam said, skeptically.
"Wow," she scoffed. "And here I thought you were the observant one." Sam waited for her to explain herself, still utterly lost on what she was talking about. "It's Castiel." She said, speaking to him as if he were a child.
"What about him?" Sam asked, hoping like hell that she wasn't talking about the angel brainwashing his brother or something.
"I've read the books, Sam." She said. "I know all about Dean's special Angel friend."
"No." Sam shook his head. "No, chuck stopped writing after Dean went to hell. There's no way you could have a read anything about Cas."
Charlie scrunched her face and bobbed her head back and forth. "Mmmm, not exactly." She reached into her bag and pulled put her laptop, turning it on. "Remember how I said the books were online now?" Sam nodded waiting for her to continue. "Okay, dont get mad," she said as she typed "but, he may have kept writing a little bit longer than you thought…."
"He what?!" Sam said, furious. They had told that dick to knock it off after that stupid convention."How long?"
"Relax." She said, scrolling through some page on her screen. "He stopped after you sacrifice yourself to Hell, actually. It was beautifully written by the way, super emotional, but no one has seen or heard from him since."
'Good!' Sam thought to himself. He felt a little bad for that thought, since Kevin was now the prophet it meant that the reason no one had heard from Chuck was likely because he was dead, but at least no one else could know more about their lives than they already did. "Okay, but what does any of this have to do with Dean? Why would Cas be the reason he's acting wierd?"
Charlie sighed, cringing to her self a little. "Well, as you already know, where there's a fandom, there's most likely fanfiction…"
"I'm aware." Sam said, peeved by the memory of stumbling upon the fanfiction written about him and Dean.
"Look, I'm not saying anything is definite, but alot of people who write fanfiction are really good at reading between the lines." She clicked her mouse a few times before closing her laptop and setting it back in her bag. "I mean, I've read all the books myself, and I totally know that you guys are real people and not some fictional characters, and it's completely not okay to speculate on your lives and feelings or whatever...but I mean, it's kinda hard not to see where they're all coming from."
"What are you talking about, Charlie?"
"Dean said that Benny helped him fight through purgatory, right?" She said. "He met him pretty early on in his time there, no?"
"Yeah," Sam said, still completely bemused, "I guess…Dean hasn't really talked a lot about what happened while he was there. He told me some things, but he never really went into detail."
Charlie nodded and shrugged sheepishly before continuing. "Okay, so he met Benny early on, and Benny told him he had a way to get back, right off the bat. So, why did it take them so long to get out of there?"
"Dean said he spent alot of his time searching for Cas." Sam answered.
"Exactly!" She exclaimed, like that should have been the answer.
"I'm sorry Charlie, I still don't understand what you're getting at here."
"Sam, he could've come back at any point after meeting Benny. They only spent as much time as they did together, because Dean wanted to bring Castiel back with him. Even after everything he did. Don't you think that's a little…suspicious?"
"That's exactly what I've been saying!" Sam said. "Why would he do that?!"
"Yeah, Sam, why?" She said, still trying to lead him. "Why would someone run back into a fire, when they have a way out? I mean, I think you, of all people, would know the answer to that."
Sam gaped at her in shock. It took a minute for him to register what she was implying, but once he did… "Charlie, that's…"
"Just a thought!" She defended before he finished. "I'm just saying that Dean doesn't normally put his trust in people. Except, maybe…the people he REALLY cares about and the people that protect them. Maybe there's more to the story when it comes to his trust in Benny than you thought. I definitely feel like there's more when it comes to Castiel."
"Charlie, come on." Sam laughed a little. " You know Dean. He's…"
"More complicated than people give him credit for." Charlie cut him off. "He also knows how hard it is to let go of the people he loves. He's actually really bad at it. Maybe, worse than you know."
"Charlie," Sam started, before being cut off once more.
"He's definitely more concerned about you than you think." Charlie said firmly, standing up as she did. She began packing once more, keeping her eyes averted from Sam's. "He's not trying to control you, you know. He raised you, Sam. You mean alot to him. You ever think for a moment that he's just really scared for you? Scared of losing you? I mean, back to my point, he is really bad at losing people."
Sam sat in silence, petulantly mulling over Charlie's words. She was right, probably. Dean may have been scared, but it was still possible that he just couldn't hack the life anymore. Sam wasn't some child. And the other stuff she was saying…she was way off base. There was a big difference between reading about someone's and living it.
"I sent you the link to the website I used to read the books." Charlie said as she zipped up her bags. She slung her backpack over her shoulder crossing her arms as she stared him down. "I know you lived through it all and everything, but not every part was about you. There's a few things you may have missed."
"Yeah, I don't think that's gonna happen." Sam shook his head.
"Just a suggestion." She shrugged. "It might open your eyes to a few things you don't understand. I get not wanting to relive those times but…if you ever decide that's something you might wanna do, hit me up. I can tell you what chapters to skip, or whatever. And, if your really curious about Dean's relationship to Castiel, 'On the Head of a Pin' is a good place to start. The torture chapters are pretty rough, and I know you'll want to skip over your parts…but the other stuff.…" she shrugged.
"Okay." He said, at a loss for more words than that.
"You ready to roll?" Dean said, from the doorway, knocking on the door frame before entering the room.
"Looks, like it." Charlie smiled up at him as he entered.
"I didn't interrupt anything did I?" Dean asked looking between her and Sam with concern written all over his face. "You guys look a little spooked."
"Ew, gross, no." Charlie said, scrunching her face at Dean's implications. "Sam, was just helping me with my bags. Right Sam?"
"Uh, yeah…" Sam said, standing up and grabbing her duffle off the bed.
"Eh, come on, you know I'm just teasin ya!" Dean chuckled, jabbing her on the shoulder playfully. "He may have the hair, but the body parts are all wrong, right?"
"Definitely." Charlie agreed.
"Come on." Dean said, tilting his head toward the door. He waited for Charlie to leave the room, then cast a skeptical glance at Sam before following after. Sam was sure he was in for an earful after she left. He began dreading it as he said his goodbyes, anticipating the lecture as he told Charlie she was welcome to comeback at anytime. But it wasn't the only thing on his mind now. After bidding Charlie farewell, he went inside, giving the two of them their time alone. He hesitated for a moment, convinced that the trials were seriously messing with his head if he was even considering this. Then again…
He headed to the library, grabbing a peice of paper and a pen on his way and sat down. 'This is just stupid.' He thought to himself as he wrote down the words 'On the Head of a Pin'. He heard the bunker door open. Dean walked up, the look on his face telling Sam that it was time for his ass- chewing, so he decided to cut it off before it could start.
He clicked the pen closed and stood up, ready to defend his actions. "Okay, look you were right. I-I should laid low. I-I know." He said as Dean approached him."I should have hung back. I'm glad I was able.."
Then Dean grabbed him. Then Dean pulled him into a hug. It wasn't at all what he was expecting. He was lost, but relieved and hugged his brother back.
Dean chuckled and patted his back before pulling away. "What do you say we find our prophet?." Dean smiled, before smaking him in the chest and walking away.
Sam was left to himself, completely bewildered by what had just occurred. Dean had certainly not been acting like himself, but this was a whole new level. Maybe there was some truth to Charlie's words? Maybe he really was just scared? Maybe Sam really didn't know everything about his brother. Now, wasn't the time to think about that, though. Dean was right, the had to look for Kevin. They had work to do. Research.
But Dean had to sleep at some point. Maybe Sam could do a little light reading in that time.
If Charlie was right about Dean being scared for him, who knew what else she was right about?

"Arghhh! This game is so annoyingly hard! Why do I keep dying in Electrical!" Oikawa angrily said while messing up his hair, flinging his arms around as he continued to puff his cheeks.
"Pfft, calm down-- you're probably just really bad at the Game" [F/N] replied with a satisfied 'huff'
"Yeah, Yeah"
A single night has passed ever since Oikawa appeared. [F/N] and Tōru were able to get along quite well during the hours they spent together. It's still Saturday, and it's been about 2 Hours ever since they started playing Among Us.
"Could we go outside?" Tōru asked, his eyes still glued onto his Phone as he moved his character around.
"You wanna go out? In THAT?" [F/N] asked as she pointed at his outfit. He was currently wearing his jersey, he hasn't changed out of them since he got here.
"Well, I wanna go out because I want to get clothes that I could wear other than this you know? I can't just wear my jersey all my life!"
"Fair point, I'll buy the clothes you need, so pick whatever you want when we get there okay?" [F/N] slowly stared back at Tōru, with a soft smile plastered on her face.
He didn't reply, he just stared at her with wide eyes. "You know, you're really pretty when you smile~" Oikawa cooed teasingly, causing [F/N] to throw one of her pillows at his face. Earning a small 'Ouch' as he hit the ground.
"[F/N]-Chan! So mean!!"
"Pfft..sorry, anyways let's go" [F/N] reached out, he happily accepted the help and brought himself on his feet.
Both Oikawa and [F/N] head down stairs, not without having a conversation ofcourse. Despite being different in many ways, they always seem to be able to spark up a conversation. Which is something they both appreciate. Because who would want to hang out with someone who you don't get along with? Certainly not them.
"Oh, right- here wear this mask" [F/N] slowly took out a white mask from her right pocket, adjusting her own as she gave the other to Oikawa.
"What- why-" He asked with his brows furrowed.
"Corona Virus, there's a virus spreading and I don't want you to catch it"
"A VIRUS?! GIVE ME THAT-" Tōru quickly snatched the mask and furiously placed it on. "Jeez, what a World you live in"
"Well it's no different from yours Tōru, but I guess it is different in a way"
[F/N] slowly pushed the door open, exiting her house with Oikawa right behind her. She turned around to close/lock the door.
"Wow, everything looks so- different" Oikawa said while staring at his current surroundings.
"Well yeah obviously, but Anyways- Let's head over to the nearest store!" [F/N] snapped her body forward, sprinting towards the direction of the said Store.
[F/N]-CHANNN! WAIT FOR MEEEE" Tōru yelled out as he ran after her in panic.
He eventually caught up to her, angrily tugging on her sweater with a childish pout on his face. "You didn't have to run like that you know.."
"Pfft, right, sorry sorry!" [F/N] lifted her right hand to him, wiggling her fingers a bit to tease him a little.
"Huh??" Tōru took her actions as a sign to hold her hand. So without hesitation, he reached out, intertwining his fingers with hers. Causing [F/N] to blush furiously.
"Aww~ look at you, you're so cute when you blush [F/N]-Chan!" Oikawa chuckled, gripping onto her hand tightly before turning his gaze to look forward.
[F/N] has never held a guys hand before, let alone a hand she has always dreamt of holding. It made her heart flutter, jump, do laps. It made her smile ever so softly as she stared at Oikawa's tall figure leading the way.
"I'm guessing this is the store you wanna go to?" Tōru asked, pointing at the store to his right.
She nodded slowly, this time stepping forward to lead him into the store instead.
"Woahhh, not half bad" He spoke as soon as they stepped through the double doors. His eyes widening and a huge grin spreading across his face.
"Pick anything, just aslong as you have clothes to change into..- Maybe get a sweater or two"
"Alright~"
Tōru happily walked around the store picking out the clothes he preferred. Most of the clothes he picked to wear indoors are alien related which caused her to snort.
"Hey.. He looks exactly like Oikawa! We should approach him come on!!" A girl whispered from afar, tugging her friend.
[F/N]'s eyes suddenly widened, fear rushed through her body. She didn't want anybody to take Tōru away from her, nor did she want to see him flirt with anyone considering his personality.
"Babe, are you okay?" A familiar voice called out, his hand grazing against her cheek ever so softly.
"Wh- why did you call me Bab-"
"Shh.. don't blow my cover now. As much as I love my fans, I'd hate for them to interact with me while I'm out with you." Oikawa whispered in her ear with a raspy 'n deep voice.
It sent shivers down her spine. "R-Right...Ermm...nothing Babe just a bit bothered is all!"
"Lucky... He's already taken, let's just go" The girls from earlier whispered.
"Phew~ Thank God you're the one I'm stuck with [F/N]-Chan, I honestly don't think I'd survive without you! But other than that, I've finished picking out my clothes now" He said while lifting the set of clothes that he picked out.
"I-- Alien shirts and boxers?" [F/N] slowly lifted one of the boxers and Shirts he picked out, causing Oikawa to look away embarrassed.
"S-Shut up- just don't look at them!"
"Chill Tōru, I love Aliens too"
He immediately perked up, his eyes widening and a huge goofy grin spread across his face. He's never had a Friend who was into Aliens aswell.
"How about this, we could get matching pyjamas!"
[Cue Oikawa Dramatically gasping/screeching in excitement]
[F/N] and Tōru spent the rest of the day outside shopping for whatever he needed. Getting matching clothes, Icecreams, and even went for a little walk in the park.
"Today was fun, let's go out again tomorrow!" Oikawa happily said, his hands full of paper bags filled with his new clothes including hers.
"Oh, sorry I have to go to a Volleyball Match tomorrow"
"Oh? A Volleyball Match? Between who?" He asked in a curious tone, his eyes wondering to her smaller form. Dropping all the bags on the living room couch.
"My School against Shizawa, it's one of the rival School's that we're somehow close with"
"Kinda sound alike Shiratorizawa. I hate them already"
[F/N] laughed at how he began to pout at the similar School Name.
"Are you the manager of your Team?"
"Yeah, actually I am"
"Wow~ I'm impressed [F/N]-Chan" He cooed sweetly.
"When do you ever stop flirting Tōru--"
"No~ idea"
[F/N]'s eyes suddenly widened, her body swiftly turning to his. Oikawa stared back into her eyes, a confused expression plastered on his Handsome Face.
"You can come with me t-"
"YES, I WAS JUST ABOUT TO ASK!",
She burst out of laughter from Tōru's sudden out burst. Walking towards him she patted his shoulder before walking straight into the kitchen. Missing the way his cheeks turned pink.
"You hungry?"
"Starving"
"Hahhhh...you sure know how to cook [F/N]-Chan, that was amazing" Oikawa said in between his satisfied hums.
"Why thank you, also, wanna have an All Nighter? We can watch an Alien related Movie while at it"
"You read my mind [F/N]-Chan" Tōru quickly sat up, his matching Alien Pyjama's more noticeable. She thought it was adorable, about how he didn't mind getting matching pyjama's. It made her heart flutter.
[F/N] quickly ran up the stairs, Oikawa following afterwards. They immediately pushed the door to her room open with a 'Thump'
"I'm gonna bet you right now you'll fall asleep as soon as the Movie starts!"
"HAH, try me Shittykawa"
"NOOOO YOU'RE STARTING TO SOUND LIKE IWA-CHAN [F/N], STOP!"
She bursted out of laughter, plopping herself on the bed as her back leaned against the head board. Tōru did the same, his shoulder ending up brushing against hers. They sat close, a little too close. But who were they to complain about it if they had such a great time together?
[F/N] opened her laptop and began to search for an Alien related Movie on Netflix.
"I have a feeling we'll be Best Friends [F/N]-Chan"
"Aren't we basically Best Friends already?" She said without sparing a glance at him.
He simply smiled, humming in approval. "Fair Point"

Whatever It Takes
Avengers: Endgame - IronWidow fix
Something happened.
Tony knew it. He figured it out through the empty space beside him, the discarded pillows, his bare body under the sheets, and her scent mixed with the vodka which they shared.
Natasha was there. And she was gone before he woke up.
He shut his eyes again. Scenes from the previous night started replaying in his mind. They had more than enough liquor but they were not drunk, he was sure of that. He was aware of what was happening from the time he leaned dangerously closer towards her and planted a chaste kiss on the corner of her lips. If she tried to stop him, he would have backed off. She did not.
He groaned, mind blurred of what to do next.
Was he supposed to call or message her? Check where she was? Ask why she just left? Say he was sorry?
But he wasn't a bit sorry for what happened. He wanted it... since when, only heaven knew. The question was if she wanted it the same way, or she has regretted it the moment she woke up and realized what they have done.
Eight months ago, they lost to Thanos. He snapped and gone was 50% of the living, including the closest people to him and to her. Peter was dusted in his arms in Titan. Clint lost his whole family, which eventually led to Natasha losing her bestfriend in him also.
When Tony was rescued in space by Nebula and Captain Marvel, he returned to a very quiet compound. Natasha, Steve, Bruce and Thor were the only ones left there. Rhodey and Pepper came the soonest they got the word about his return. They arrived as he lay in the med bay with the only female Avenger left watching over him.
The reunion was a lull before the storm that was his confrontation with Steve. The pain, the betrayal, the anger he harbored in his chest for their Cap since Siberia made him snap, too. What remained of his belief that they could avenge for the earth when they could not protect it - dusted. That night, Natasha went to his room and apologized for the hurt that she also caused him. He has long forgiven and understood her, and he let her stay until he slept.
The next day, he learned that the team has traced Thanos and attacked him to retrieve the infinity stones, in high hopes that they could still revert what happened. They did not get them... not even one.
Days later, Tony got well and chose to move on, opting to live alone this time in a lakehouse far from the city. He worked for Stark Industries, his own company still managed by Pepper, remotely. He enjoyed a more private life.
Among the then-Avengers, it was only with Natasha that he communicated. Bruce and Thor disappeared to somewhere he did not mind knowing about. They needed to rest, too. Steve stayed behind but opted to lie-low from being a supersoldier. While she, keeping herself together, continued to do work and organized a new team which could look after what was left of the world. With much respect for her choice, he made it clear that even if they were already far from being teammates, he was just a stone throw away especially for her, always.
And it was because of that mutual understanding that Natasha knocked on his door last night and broke down after a few glasses. Both of them were still grieving for their losses, no matter how hard they hid it. Both of them were still looking for answers even if it looked like they have moved on. Both of them, at the back of their minds, were still hoping that they could bring everyone else back.
Vulnerable, they succumbed to the temporary aid which they could get from each other on his bed. It wasn't hurried, but every touch, every move, every moan was desperate to satisfy their need for comfort. Once was not enough. They gave in again. And again...
Tony cleared his head with a cold shower then decided to go to her at the compound. He did not know what to say; he just had to see her first.
Natasha sat on her work desk, going through whatever she was doing on her laptop, when he entered her office.
"Tash," he stood before her table.
"What's up, Stark?" She did not even look up to him.
It felt like a kick on his gut. "So we're back to surnames only. That's cool," he replied with pure sarcasm.
"If you're here to talk about what happened, you shouldn't have bothered."
"Why not?"
She chuckled. "We're two consenting adults. It's done and over."
He followed her with confused stare and rising irritation as she walked to the side table and made a sandwich.
"What the fuck did you just say?"
Natasha raised her eyebrows to him. "Why? Oh don't act too modest on me. That's the least I will expect, especially from you."
His fists balled inside his pockets, he filled his lungs with much-needed air. "I'm not here to say I am sorry for what happened because really, I am not."
"Then? Don't tell me you worry about me getting..." She paused but he got it. "You know that's impossible."
"Natasha -"
"I'm not gonna run after you because of what happened, Stark. It was just good sex."
His face heated up and his teeth clenched so tight that it already hurt - whichever hurt more, his jaw or his heart, he didn't care. Before he could do something he would regret more, he turned to leave immediately, shutting the door loudly behind him... missing to catch Natasha's rattled expression, trembling lips and teary eyes.
That was the last time they saw each other.
*****
Four years later, Natasha appeared at his doorstep again - this time, with Steve and Scott Lang, presenting a possible way to get back what they lost to Thanos.
Quantum realm. Time heist.
"The stones are in the past. We can go back. We can get them," Steve said.
"We can snap our own fingers. We can bring everybody back," she added.
"Or screw it up worse than he already has, right?" he quickly countered, eyes bore into green ones.
His two other guests tried to justify some more, but each argument, he had an answer to.
Finally, Natasha spoke again. "Tony, we have to take a stand."
Great, she just called him by his first name again, reminding him of the good relationship they shattered with one steamy night followed by a more heated encounter.
"We did stand. And yet, here we are," he couldn't help being straightforward.
She turned her head, looking away.
He sighed. "I wish you'd come here to ask me something else. Anything else."
Natasha never looked at him again until the three of them left. His chest tightened even if it was him who declined their proposal. He knew he hurt her by crushing her hope. But he was actually scared to try again and fail. There was a bit of probability that they might do it right but he could not risk, could he? It would be too painful, if they would be lucky to even live after, that is.
When he lied down that night, in the same room where they spent that one night together, Tony still could not rest his case. He remembered Peter. He remembered Clint's lovely family. He thought about Natasha... and how she would have looked happier if he said yes to their idea that afternoon.
Those thoughts and the tiny bit of probability pulled him up from his bed to his little workshop.
*****
He made it work and they did it. They, the Avengers, won this time around.
After they collected the infinity stones from the past, with Clint's inevitable sacrifice in Vormir, and despite the accident that brought Thanos and his troop to the present, they managed to pull through in the battle. Bruce as the Hulk snapped with the gauntlet that Tony made and the bad guys turned to dust.
They lost two heroes in one day... but the ones who have returned, together with the four Avengers left, swore to their gravestone that the earth, with their loved ones in it, would be protected again at all cost.
Steve went back to the past to return the stones in their respective places. But he did not come back. They should have figured it out when he said goodbye to Bucky and left his shield to Sam before he stepped into the time heist.
Thor, sober and with renewed determination after he has spoken with Almother, led the New Asgard with Valkyrie.
Tony and Natasha promised to keep the rest of their team together whatever it takes. But it had to start by fixing what was between the two of them...
Like the night of Tony's return from space five years ago, she went up to him. He was awakened by movement on the bed in his room in the compound. The next thing he realized, the redhead was snuggled up on him, her arms around his neck, hands clasped on his nape.
"Tash..." He called her name softly and kissed her hair.
"Thank you, Tony."
Natasha looked up to him, and as his eyes adjusted to the dim light, he caught her eyes shiny with tears.
"I don't and won't ever take full credit of our win, if that's what you are thankful for," he smiled as he wiped her eyes with his thumb.
She shook her head. "I thank you for trying one more time. It wasn't a simple decision, I know. You've left this life behind for a more peaceful one and moved on," she caressed his cheek. "Now you're back here with us."
Tony shifted their positions so he was half hovering comfortably over her.
"When I was trying to figure out how we could pull off that quote-unquote time heist, you know what was on my mind?"
"What?"
"Oh, it wasn't a what but a who," he tapped his point finger on the tip of her nose. "You."
"Tony..."
"I haven't said it yet but I really like it better when you call me by my first name."
She sighed. "I'm serious."
"Same here. So serious about you that I risked screwing up reality."
She fell silent as she just stared into his eyes.
"Guess that's another way of saying I love you, Natasha. I've always cared so much about you... Damn it, I can't even stay mad at you for 24 hours straight."
"I'm not good with words, Tony."
"Not a problem."
His hand trailed from her side to her hips to the small of her back and pulled her closer to him, the same time that Natasha lifted her face to meet his lips that instantly opened up to hers.
That one night long time ago was never enough. They gave in again. And again. And again.

Buster & Rio
Buster: I miss you Rio: Guarantee I miss you more Buster: State your case then Rio: 😍😍 Buster: That's a strong introduction, how are you gonna follow it through? Rio: 🤤🤤 Buster: I like the thread of your argument, I can't lie, but I still miss you more Buster: 'Cause a girl was flirting with me in the gym and after telling her all the ways she doesn't compare to you, how incomparable you are was, and is, all I could think about Rio: As much as I probably shouldn't encourage you to be rude to random girls Rio: I love that you do so Buster: She embarrassed herself long before I embarrassed her, reckoning she had a chance Rio: I know what you mean Rio: the stalker has been getting inventive today Buster: Tell me Rio: We're doing this whole project in comp sci about viruses and shit Rio: and they've sent a meant-to-be-creepy spam type email Rio: it's got attachments but Rio: I've not looked yet Buster: Send it to me, I'll open it for you Rio: I know it's unlikely they're that smart Rio: but what if it does have some computer-killing 👾 attached? Buster: Smart enough that we haven't worked out who they are yet Buster: but if it's a virus, I'll buy another laptop Rio: it seems ridiculous Rio: this proves it has to be someone at school now, at least Rio: it's not like I've posted about my fucking homework anywhere Buster: How big's that class? Buster: Can discount my sister and your brother already, like Rio: Don't Rio: you're about the only person I've not thought it could be at my craziest Rio: probably about 30 odd though, standard Buster: Baby, they're the crazy one and I'm not letting them drive you even slightly close to the edge Buster: Who do you know and who don't you, percentage wise? Rio: I thought I knew everyone in this school, this town Rio: you'd think if someone was as creepy as this, anyway, that you'd know, they'd fucking stick out a bit but no Buster: It ain't a film, there's no creepy music playing to give it away Rio: if it was, it'd be dragging Rio: time for the resolve and happy ending Buster: Yeah, I know Buster: You wanna try calling that helpline again? Rio: Maybe Rio: I just wanna talk to you Rio: that's more helpful Buster: It's the least bullshit lead we've had for ages, I'll find a way to narrow it down more somehow Buster: We've got an obsession with you in common, it'll be me who figures it out if any cunt can Rio: Yours is the only one I need Buster: If you need to stay here for a while I'll sort it with my parents, yours, school, whoever Buster: You know that Rio: I know Rio: it's more and more tempting to not leave every time I go Buster: I just want you to be able to take an actual deep fucking breath Buster: Like you said, the amount of time this has been going on is ridiculous Rio: I can forget about it, most of the time Rio: but it's when something new happens, unexpected Buster: I'll kill him when we work out who it is Buster: 'Til then, stay with me Buster: He never does fuck all when you're here Rio: At least that's quick Rio: too nice if anything, babe Rio: always say that about you Buster: It don't have to be quick or nice Buster: Don't underestimate me, babe Rio: 🤤🤤 I rest my case Buster: I love you, that rests mine Buster: I'd do anything for you Rio: I love you so much Rio: I'd definitely be crazy without you, stalker or otherwise Buster: There's a fair chance I'd be stalking you too if things were any different between us Buster: I'd leave better presents though Rio: and I'd know it was you always Buster: 'Course Buster: I'd want you to know Rio: hence there's no world in which we ain't a thing Buster: [has bought her the most expensive and best ever anti virus software and all that jazz so sends her the deets like there you go] Rio: this really has everything Rio: thank you Buster: He ain't gonna be smart enough to get through that, I've been reading reviews since you told me Buster: And I have it too now so you don't have to worry about sending me whatever bullshit he does to you Rio: We can open it together then? Rio: [I think it shouldn't be camgirl moments but something @school to drive that home] Buster: Yeah, on the count of three Rio: [just some creeper shots all throughout the day up until that lesson] Rio: these are today, I'm 99% sure Rio: I swapped my bag Buster: Forget going there tomorrow, I'm booking you a flight here instead Buster: I'll think of a lie to tell my parents if you still don't want anyone else to know the truth Rio: there was always the possibility Rio: but now I know it's someone I really see in person Rio: every day Rio: jesus Buster: I meant what I said, I'm gonna find out who, whatever it takes Buster: I know it feels fucked, but it's good, that it's one of 30 classmates rather than the numbers of lads who watch your streams Rio: it's true Rio: but those lads could be anywhere in the world, not in the same room as me Buster: Which is why you shouldn't be in that room until we know which sick cunt it is Buster: Just give me some time, it's not like I don't have the money to throw at it Rio: I couldn't be there if I had to Rio: I don't even want to be here at home now Buster: How soon can you be at the airport? Rio: not for a while Rio: I mean, tonight, maybe Rio: what should I tell my mam? Buster: Tell her I'm having a breakdown, it wouldn't be the first time Buster: I'll trash the house for realism if it comes to it, like Rio: it'll keep her from being worried Rio: pissed off is fine, I'll deal with that when I can Buster: Exactly Buster: And Ava's at a friend's so I don't have to worry about scaring the shit out of her with my acting Buster: 'Cause it'd be stupid not to feed my parents the same lie Rio: You don't have to go that method Rio: but I wouldn't blame you Rio: I'm trying to keep my freak out internal because I'm looking after the twins and your sister is on her way Buster: I'm glad you're not on your own, even if the company is Nance Rio: I was kinda hoping someone took the homework too seriously and was pranking the whole class Rio: but nah, the email was more specific than I let on to her, of course Rio: even before the pictures Buster: 'Course you were Buster: He'd been quiet for a while Rio: really think he'd get bored at some point Rio: I never react, respond, everything they tell you Buster: Now isn't really the time for me to reiterate how stalkable you are again when I can do better with compliments Rio: the fact you can make me smile even at this time Buster: I can do better than that too, I'll make you forget about it Rio: yeah? Buster: Yeah Rio: I need that Rio: my head is all over the place Buster: You've got it, and whatever else you need Rio: I only feel really safe when I'm with you Buster: You are safe with me, but you won't have to leave until you're also safe everywhere else Buster: I'm gonna fix it Rio: yeah Buster: I know I've said it before but this time I swear Buster: He fucked up by giving us a decent clue Rio: it does narrow it down Rio: even if it isn't the class, and it's just the school in general Rio: that's the most we've ever had to go on Buster: Exactly Rio: but what do we do Rio: if we work it out Buster: I told you, I'll kill him Rio: so you're the only one that ends up in prison Buster: I'm not a fucking amateur, babe Rio: mm Rio: 🙄😏 Buster: Hilarious Buster: Nance will be a way more receptive audience though Rio: yeah, really in the mood for this study sesh now Buster: I can easily change hers if you wanna get out of it Rio: nah Rio: I need to keep things normal Rio: only just invited her over, it'd be weird to change my mind Buster: You can blame me for that as well, I don't give a shit Rio: I can't leave yet, like you said, distraction is probably a good thing Buster: Alright, what can I do to make it a more bearable one? Buster: [loads of her fave things getting delivered to this gaff like don't be scared to answer your door, look they are all from me, here's the order confirmations] Rio: I don't deserve you Buster: You don't deserve the bullshit he's putting you through, you've always deserved me Rio: I feel like I should just Rio: stop the streams Rio: I know you aren't meant to change your lifestyle and habits for them but it wouldn't have happened if I weren't doing that shit Rio: I know you aren't meant to change your lifestyle and habits for them but it wouldn't have happened if I weren't doing that shit Buster: Fuck that, we know he's from school Buster: Being able to see you every day pre-dates anything you've done online Buster: He could've known you since primary Rio: I guess Rio: but would he be bothered if there was less out there to stalk Buster: It's not your fault, Rio Buster: It can happen to anyone, you know that Rio: it's happening to me though Buster: Not 'cause of anything you've done Buster: Come on Rio: anyway Rio: I'm gonna enjoy all these treats Buster: Good Rio: how much should I bring? Rio: when I pack Buster: As much as you want, I'll send you money for if your cases are over the weight limit Rio: don't want it to look like I'm running away too hard but Buster: You're overthinking it, you never travel light anywhere, nobody'll notice Rio: I need options Buster: I'm not mad about it and I don't care if my parents are Rio: they're going to be Rio: you'll have to go to school, be 😇 to show I'm totally not a distraction Buster: You are, but I'll still go Buster: All that matters to me is that you feel safe Rio: I will do Rio: and I'll find ways to be useful to them as well as distracting to you Buster: Winning over Ava is basically the same thing as winning them over Buster: You've had loads of practice at that Rio: kids are easy Buster: She's easier than Grace, obviously Rio: wouldn't take much on Ava's part Rio: bless Buster: She'll be distracting at any rate Rio: I can take her to school and shit, free up some time for them Buster: Yeah, and once you've had some time, we can sort out getting your assignments and shit sent over Rio: I won't miss anything important Buster: It'll be fine Buster: I'll make sure it's fine, like Rio: I know you will Buster: You gonna facetime me into this study session or what then? Rio: depends Rio: are you going to be nice? Buster: To you Rio: well you're always nice to me Buster: Are you asking me to help Nance with her homework? Rio: how much do you think she'd appreciate that? Buster: She wouldn't, so of course I'll do it Rio: I can't with you two, honestly Buster: You love me, you don't even want her to come over Rio: I'm not getting in the middle of it Buster: You already are Rio: No I'm not, shh Buster: It's okay, I know you're on my side Rio: I love you more than anyone else in the world Rio: goes without saying Buster: I still really like hearing it Rio: You know you can hear it any time you want Buster: Is she there yet? Rio: nope, you remember how long that drive takes, even in an uber Buster: I'll call you then Rio: 🥰 Buster: [does obvs] Rio: I'll just be here counting down the minutes 'til you can hold me Buster: However long it feels, you'll be staying longer Rio: promise? Buster: I swear Rio: then I'm happy Buster: If you are, I am too Rio: I haven't even asked you how your days been Rio: I'm so rude Buster: Before and after I shot down gym girl there ain't much to report Rio: what did she look like? Buster: Every other girl in this postcode Rio: Blonde and skinny Buster: Yeah Rio: vaguely equine, dresses more like a nan than nan ever would Buster: I'll have to remember all that for the next one Rio: I can tell her myself if you like Buster: If you like Rio: Me? The jealous type? Buster: The jealous type and my type Rio: I better be Rio: only type Buster: You're the only one I've ever wanted or will ever want, you definitely don't need to add that to the list of shit that's worrying you right now Rio: I just like to hear it Buster: I'll tell you again then, I want you so much Rio: even without all this bullshit Rio: it's been too long Rio: I hate every second I'm not with you Buster: I know, me too Buster: I'm not gonna say he's done me a favour, but I am glad you're coming to stay Rio: I'll say it Rio: may as well get something good from it Buster: I'd rather you didn't have to deal with any of this bullshit, obviously Rio: of course Rio: I told you, I've never thought it was you, it's okay Buster: It's not okay that I haven't been able to do fuck all about this though Buster: I'm sorry Rio: Don't Buster: It's not good enough, I know that Buster: I'm gonna do better Rio: Stop it Buster: I mean it, Rio Rio: we've done everything we can Rio: it's not fair on me or you to act like we haven't Buster: I just hate this Rio: I know, baby Buster: You're the best thing that's happened to me, this shouldn't be happening to you Rio: It really could happen to anyone Rio: it's shit Rio: but you make me feel safe, that isn't nothing Buster: I'll calm down before you get here Buster: I swear Rio: you don't have to Rio: you can be mad, I am Rio: but you don't need to blame yourself, even if it's second to him, it's all on him Buster: I am angry but you've got the wrong twin if you reckon I'm willing to make any of this about me Buster: I'm here for you Rio: Trust me, I know Rio: she seems distracted herself recently Buster: Yeah? Rio: I'll try to work it out, not had time yet Rio: she won't say anything if you're on the phone though Buster: I don't have to be, if you wanna do some investigating Rio: I know you wanna know too Buster: I know if you get her started she'll talk about herself until you've gotten all of your own bullshit exists Rio: and you're a little nosy too, you can admit it Rio: I'll get the gossip Buster: She's still my sister Buster: 'Course I wanna know if she's being stalked as well or whatever Rio: You're cute Rio: and I do not think it's that Rio: obviously Buster: You know what I mean Rio: I do Rio: that's why I wanna know too Buster: Okay, tell me when you do Rio: 🧐 Rio: wouldn't suit the hat Buster: You'd suit anything, don't lie Rio: 😊 Rio: I mean if that's your thing I'll do my best Buster: If it was that wouldn't be the first you've heard of it Rio: be mad if it was Rio: you have to tell me exactly what you like so I can be it Buster: You are Buster: And I don't have, or want to have, any secrets from you Rio: secrets are boring Rio: and hard to keep Buster: Neither of us could ever be boring Buster: And I'll do whatever it takes to keep you forever Rio: You've got me Rio: not going anywhere Buster: Only closer to where I am, not further away Buster: Soon as your mum is back and your study session is over Rio: not that I need to do this homework now Rio: just be throwing subtle hints at Nance instead Buster: Be fucking typical her if she's getting bullied there as well Rio: I'd know if she was Rio: only have the two lessons with her but contrary to what the stalker suggests, I know most people well enough that they wouldn't Buster: Well Ava'll probably get a love life before she does, Christ knows what else it could be then Rio: ugh don't Rio: it's coming up with Edie for sure Rio: Jun is like Nancy and Billie isn't bothered thank god Rio: hate it Buster: Who's bothered about Edie then? Buster: Tell me your gossip Rio: It's just like the boys she hangs with are less useless stoner and more keep your eye on them types than Billie's friends Rio: and they aren't just friends types, I don't trust 'em Buster: Maybe I should be getting on a plane instead of you Rio: at least none of them are stupid Rio: especially not Eds Rio: have to hope anyway Buster: I've taught her how to protect herself physically, I reckon she can handle lads trying to get in her head Buster: Like you said Buster: She's no stupid kid Rio: Yeah, she has all the tools and advantages she can be given Rio: 💘 and hormones still make people stupid though Buster: I remember Rio: well yeah, ignoring the fact we'd be used as prime examples in that lecture Buster: Sure we have been, never too early for mum and dad to tell Ava what not to do Rio: As if we'll have started a trend Rio: if it wasn't you it'd be a really bad idea Buster: They should want her to have this, how I feel about you, how happy I am Buster: It's not as if they can actually judge us for who it's with Buster: This family are way past that Rio: You'd think Rio: I'm way past caring Rio: it was so Rio: I wasn't me without you Buster: I feel exactly the same, you know I do Buster: The only thing I've ever done wrong was not be with you, every bad thing I did or that was done to me can be traced back to that Buster: We're free now and this stalker isn't gonna make you feel otherwise any more, I'm not letting it happen for another fucking day Rio: we can get through anything, we've got the rest stacked against us and we're still strong Rio: as long as you love me, then there's nothing anyone can say or do Buster: I really fucking love you Rio: I love you Rio: endlessly Buster: [a flight he's booked her like this is happening no matter what excuse us fam] Rio: 🙏 Rio: I cannot wait Buster: Me either Rio: you can pick me up from the airport, right? Buster: Nothing could stop me Rio: Yay 🥰🥰🥰 Buster: You need me to help you with all that luggage Rio: it will be one suitcase Rio: and a sizeable handbag, thank you 😂 Rio: but I still need you Buster: I'll be early regardless Rio: you're the best Buster: No, I do my best, you don't even have to try Rio: You don't either Rio: but I will for you and I appreciate that you do Buster: I appreciate everything that you do Rio: you will Rio: that's the plan Buster: I do, whether or not shit goes to plan Buster: You're one of the strongest people I know, the least I can do is give you the reminder Rio: Buster Rio: it won't always be this dramatic, you know Rio: being together Buster: I don't care if it is, you're worth it Buster: And I'd endure the worst suffering I can possibly imagine to be with you if any alternative meant not being Rio: now you're just being hot about it on purpose Buster: I told you I miss you, nothing's changed Rio: I miss you all the time Rio: but I'm down for all the ways you make it worse Buster: [sends her a pic from when he was at the gym earlier like okay we're testing the waters but not very much yet lol] Rio: oh Rio: yeah, I would've flirted with you too Buster: What would you have said? Rio: Hmm Rio: ask you to check my form Buster: As long as you'd have time for how thorough I'd be, I don't have any problem with that Rio: Of course Rio: I'd ask you because you're clearly an expert Buster: And there's no need for me to hold back on my expertise as you're clearly so receptive to it, not to mention deserving Rio: Don't, I want you to show me exactly how you do it Buster: Never, I wouldn't wanna leave you with more questions than answers Rio: of course, but there are some things I could show you in return for all you're going to teach me Buster: Yeah? Buster: You've got yourself a deal, babe Rio: are you going to let me come to the gym with you really Buster: If you want to Buster: I'll try not to get too distracted at the prospect Rio: you look like that, obviously I want to Buster: [a pic of how he looks now like we can also stay in this bed where I currently am chilling] Rio: 🥺🥺 GIMME Buster: You're not meant to change your behaviour or habits for that cunt, remember Buster: Say please Rio: please Rio: please let me be in that bed right now Buster: [treat that gal to some more pics boy she's had a shit day] Rio: please be with me right now Rio: in me Buster: You know that's all I want Rio: you're perfect, Buster, you know that Buster: We're perfect for each other Rio: marry me Buster: As soon as we can, I will Rio: seriously Buster: I am being serious Rio: oh Buster: Once we're both 18 nobody can stop us Rio: yeah but Rio: nobody would come Buster: I only need you to turn up Rio: technically Buster: And actually, 'cause the rest of my family won't and like you said, I'm past caring Rio: if you were going to do it Rio: you'd want the big day, the venue, the clothes, the car Rio: everything proper Buster: If you were going to do it, you'd want your family there, you can say what you really mean Rio: we can't just do all that for two people Buster: We can do whatever we want Rio: I just wish people would be happy for us Buster: I know, I haven't properly asked you yet 'cause I want everything to be perfect for you and there's fuck all I can do to give you that Rio: it'll never happen, I know that Rio: I've accepted it, it's just hard to make total peace with Buster: There was a time when I reckoned we'd never happen Rio: yeah Buster: I don't care who or how many people I have to turn my back on for you, it'll never matter as much as us being together Rio: it shouldn't have to be like this Rio: it's bullshit Buster: Yeah, but it is, and I've made my choice Buster: You know the things I'd do differently and none of 'em are about not ending up here Rio: Me too Buster: Changing their minds is as likely as us changing ours, it's an old fashioned stand off, like Rio: True Rio: it's like, they forget they're meant to be anti-us sometimes though Rio: and it's just normal, like we're any other couple Buster: Maybe when we've has as many years as my parents, it will actually be considered normal Rio: you reckon? Buster: Worked for them Rio: I guess nan and granddad are sufficiently over it Rio: had competition though, didn't they Rio: don't think that's likely to repeat itself Buster: Fingers crossed Nance is hiding a dark enough secret to take at least some of my parents' attention nevertheless Rio: in your dreams, babe Buster: Why would I dream about her downfall when I could dream about your happiness? Rio: alright 😇 Buster: We're not married yet but in regards to that, what's mine is yours, babe Buster: And vice versa Rio: you know I want it too Rio: to be married to you, and have everything we want Buster: Then I'll make it happen, exactly how you want Buster: Where there's a will there's a way, yeah? Especially when it's my will getting involved Rio: I trust that Rio: you Buster: Good 'cause you can Buster: About this and everything else Rio: then that's settled Rio: and Nance is finally here Buster: I'll still be here if you need me Rio: 🧡🧡🧡 Rio: you focus on doing everything you possibly can before I get there so you can spend as much time with me as we've got Buster: Consider it done

This is not Another Cinderella Story
Steve Rogers x Reader
Plot: She was an ordinary girl with a not so ordinary crush, and he was a not so ordinary guy with an ordinary wish.
Note: If you'd like to be added to the tag list, comment down below or send me a message or an ask. I'm opening up requests for imagines and Ships right now if anyone is interested.
Dear Ms. Y/N Y/L/N,
As a hard working member of both Stark Industries and the Avengers Compound, it is with great pleasure that we inform you that you have been cordially invited to attend the Celebration Gala taking place next weekend to commemorate Mr. Starks 49th birthday.
The Gala will be taking place at the Stark Tower on the date of May 29th. It will be an elegant occasion and the theme will be a masquerade ball. It is required that those in attendance are in formal attire, Formal gowns for the ladies and Tuxedos for the gentlemen. And also do not forget your mask.
We hope you can attend the event. Please RSVP in advance to take you into consideration in terms of seating and food.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Pepper Potts, CEO of Stark Industries.
Y/N could only stare down at the small letter in her hand. She traced the words with her fingers as she read the message over and over again.
She had been working for Stark Industries for 4 years, it was her first job fresh out of college, and in those 4 years she had never been invited to a official Stark Event, which only the big leagues were invited to, so it was quite a surprise to find the letter sitting on her desk this morning when she came into work at the compound.
"What you got there Y/N?" Y/N looked up and saw it was Anna, her desk neighbor who had asked.
Anna was...nice, to say the least. She was a very judgmental and bossy person, but Y/N liked to see the best in people so she never complained.
"Um just some letter I got this morning." She vastly explained.
Anna pursed her lips. "Seems to me its more than just a letter."
Y/N quickly racked her head for an excuse, she didn't want to tell Anna about the Party, knowing waves of criticism would come her way is she told her she had been invited, "It's about my grandma's Will, there will be a meeting next weekend so the close family members know what they get when she, you know, passes."
It wasn't a complete lie, she did have to attend the meeting but that was in a months time, not next week end as she had just said.
"Oh, I thought it would be something more exciting, you know like the invite to Starks party."
Y/N tensed in her seat, "You were invited?"
Anna noticed the change in Y/N's mood, but thought it was due to the girl not receiving a letter. "Yeah, such a shame you didn't get one again. But hey, there's always next year right?"
Y/N nodded slowly, "Yeah, next year."
"Are you girls talking about the Stark Party?" A third voice had now joined in their conversation. Y/N and Anna looked up to see it was Dina, one of their co-workers who was stationed just down the hall. Y/N gave a tight lit smile at said woman's appearance.
If Anna was slightly Unpleasant, Dina was way worse. It's as if she had no filter and took a joy in making Y/N feel bad when she could, critiquing even the cup of coffee she would make herself in the morning.
If she thought about it, Dina and Anna were like the evil stepsisters she never had, both had lousy attitudes which she constantly had to put up with, and were also from the upper east side, which made them, more or less, one in the same.
"Oh hey Di, we were just talking about Starks party. Y/N didn't get invited again."
Dina turned to look at Y/N with a pout, "Aw sweetie, that's like the third time you don't get invited right? Such a shame, but then again you're only just a lousy secretary."
Y/N rolled her eyes. "Aren't you also a secretary Dina? Last time I checked you ran Finances while I'm in charge of the Teams documents."
"I run finances for the whole company, you only make the teams time tables." That was a lie, Dina helped run the finances, she didn't actually do them for the whole company by herself.
Y/N was in charge of keeping tabs on the team, it had been her promotion once she was moved to work at the compound. She goes over their schedules, diet plans, fitness regimes, their personal finances, as well as any other doubt or problem they had, they contacted her.
Sure she had actually never met any of them in person, besides Mr. Stark and Peter, (which is a long story as to how she found out his secret), they all mostly always sent her emails or texts, which were mostly short, strange requests from Thor who had still not learned how to use a laptop.
"Besides who cares if I wasn't invited, it's just a stupid party for rich people, with rich people food." Y/N said in defense.
Anna and Dina looked quite offended by her statement.
"Just a party, how dare you? It's like one of the biggest events in New York. Anyone who is anyone is invited."
"Which is probably why Y/N here wasn't invited." Dina smirked.
Y/N was about to reply when she noticed Dina and Anna's attention had shifted elsewhere. She looked behind her towards where the other two were staring and was met with the view of one Steven Grant Rogers.
He was entering the room some files in his hands, which she guessed he was taking down to the Operations department.
It was very hard not to look at him, he oozed confidence and his general aura seemed to pull anyone to him.
Y/N had seen him a variety of times during the last couple of years and she had always liked him, not only as a person, but also like like him. She wouldn't lie, like 75% of the female staff she found Steve attractive, but besides that Y/N was attracted to his person.
He was a genuinely nice guy from what she could tell, old school manners with enough modern charm that he was what woman would define as a perfect man. Sure she didn't actually know him that well, but she knew enough from 2 years worth of emailing back and forth.
"Oh isn't he one fine specimen of a men." Anna spoke up after a few silent minutes.
Dina nodded in agreement, "I would let him do anything to me. Just look at those arms, they're so thick and nice, his thighs too."
The situation had gone from okay to very unpleasant for Y/N, she had no desires in knowing what Dina would let Steve do to her.
Y/N turned around in her seat to face them again, "He's alright, I guess." She would never tell them of the crush she had developed on Steve, she didn't want to hear how undeserving she was of him.
"If that's your opinion of him I think you need to get your glasses fixed hun," Anna told her as she turned her gaze away from Steve.
"Leave her, much less competition for us in terms of winning him over." Dina stated, "god I hope I get to dance with him next weekend. I've been waiting for a dance since I first laid eyes on him."
"How will you know it's him? It's going to be a masquerade ball Dina, everyone will be wearing a mask." Y/N sasses.
Dina looked down at Y/N like she was a toddler about to be scolded, "Have you seen the size of that man? he's not hard to miss Y/N. Even with a mask I could tell who he is, he's the most well built on the team."
"Actually all of them are pretty well built, as you call it," She argued back, "Sam, James, Clint, Rhodes, even Mr.Stark. The only one who isn't is Dr.Banner, but that's another thing completely."
"Whose James?" Anna asked
Y/N turned back to look at her, not knowing if she was kidding or not, "James as in James Buchanan Barnes...better known as Bucky. Y'know Steve's best friend from the 40s, the only other super soldier on the team."
Anna still seemed confused so she turned to Dina, "The ex-soviet spy, the murderer." She explained.
Y/N turned back to Dina, appalled at her way of describing Bucky, "He's not a murderer, the Winter soldier was, he was brainwashed to do those things! You can't expect to win Steve over if that's the opinion you have on James, the person he cares about and trusts most."
Dina rolled her eyes, "Ugh whatever, he's irrelevant."
"He's not irrelevant." Y/N murmured under her breath.
"I only care about Captain America and his gorgeous muscles." Dina continued. "Can't wait for next weekend when he has me in his arms spinning me around the ballroom. Such a shame you won't be there to see it Y/N, I would have loved for you to record the moment."
Y/N looked back at where Steve was standing, "Yeah, what a shame."
She would never admit it, but she too imagined what it would be like to dance with Steve.

#GhostFromThePast
Jo was sitting at her desk in black waters. Looking at the time of day it was. She was sat with her laptop on looking to see what has been happening in the world. Deep down she was surfing for anything Supernatural. When she stopped on a possible ghost house reading through the news of four teenagers breaking into in an asylum full of ghosts after staying the night on some kind of a dare. When two only two teenagers came out of the house alive in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She ponders over the article. That sound like her kind of thing but she wanted to check out a few times first by going to the library. When she powered down her laptop. She wasn't to take any silly risks without knowing all the facts. For her, it's been quiet in the last few days. With her life was starting to fall back into place. She was settling into her new life here in Austin but she missed her mom very much. She needed to put her big girlie pants on and stop to reply on her mom and stand on her own two feet. Which she was doing for the last few weeks. With her buying her place as she was stable in her new place here in Austin and working in black waters. With her friends and she could call some of the family. When she looked over at the photograph on her desk with Her mom Eileen, Bobby, Colt, Cas and Sam. The last photo of them will get her when they hunted together. When she thought she would check the roster of what hunters were on call. To see if they were interested in going on a hunt. Which she did when a certain name flashed up to her. Sam Winchester. She had missed Sam Winchester. Colt’s brother Sam when he took his own life. She missed the conversation between Sam and her. She hoped he was at peace wherever he is upstairs in heaven. A small smile curve into her lips as she looked at him a little more. She deeply missed him as he was like a big brother to her. The brother she never had. When she looked into his file and sadness fell on her heart. Picking up the photography in her hand with her thumb rubbing over Sam's face. I miss you, Sam. I wish you were still here. Jo put the photography back proud on her desk. When she stood up to go to the library to check on everything about ghosts. This was another thing Sam was amazing at. When he saw a large man in the distance of the stalls of the library. Picking up some books. When she stopped herself in her tracks just looking at him. She had frozen in the spot just keeping her eyes on Him.
Sam -Standing in the center of an aisle wearing a grey and white checkered flannel with faded blue jeans, his hair just a little to long and his boots scuffed up from rough use. Several books in his hands and one opened he was just doing a few pages of speed reading to see if it was relevant to what he needed and was looking for when he got a feeling he was being watched. Head up he looked around and his eyes fell on a small blonde at the end of the aisle. When he'd agreed to work with Blackwater he'd made it clear he wanted transparency and Colt had given him access to every employee on Blackwaters payroll. Having had some encounters with the British Men of Letters Sam had been leery joining up but as he got to know Colt the more trusting he'd gotten. Even though the guy was different than his brother he still had those core things that made them /Dean/. So he knew who she was by remembering her face. He smiled and raised a hand to wave hello.-
Jo - Her eyes were just drawn to him was Sam back. When she tried to speak with nothing was coming out of her mouth at the first. When she saw his hand waving her over to him, she started to move closer to the giant of the Man in his blue jeans and flannel shirt. A million questions were playing in her head she wanted to talk to /Her/ Sam, but how could he be back with his body getting a hunters funeral and now he was just standing only a few yards away. When she approached him. Trying to make some saliva in her mouth as her mouth was dry. Her mouth felt like sandpaper as she struggles to speak before and letting out a deep breath. “Sam?”
Sam - Yeah. I'm sorry, this is probably weird. We've never met but I've read some of your file... -Holds out his hand and gives her a genuine smile.- Sam Winchester, but you probably knew that of course. It's good to finally meet you.
Jo - Jo couldn't get her head around that Sam Winchester was standing in front other. This was a huge deal for her. With the introduction of him, she smiled with millions of questions playing in her head. Her voice went very high when she spoke. “ Hello, Sam how are you okay. What's going as she set out a few quick questions in no time? Not giving him the chance to answer. Yes, I know you are Sam Winchester, not the one I know of but A new Sam Winchester. Can I ask something? Her mouth just fires out another question without even thinking. Are you just like my Sam? It's great to meet you, Sam. How long have you been here? You have been reading my file. I guess you like to do your homework on all hunters here at black waters? Jo tries to stop with the quick-fire questions to the man standing in front of her as she tried to breathe without answering another question him. *she misread the hand gesture and just hugged him, as she would Do with the other Sam*
Sam - -Little surprised but he went with it and hugged her back.- Well Dean and I have always been here. I’m assuming you’re asking if we came through a rift. The answer is no. I’m not sure how your “Sam” was so I can’t answer that. But look hey it’s great to meet you though.
Jo - -She paused herself in the hug listening to him talking. When she moved from the hug let him go. Taking a step back from to look up to him- You didn't? But how are you here Sam, sorry about all the questions?
Sam - This is my home dimension Jo, from what I've discussed with other things here are different from other places but we Winchesters are still hunters here.
Jo -*She stopped and bite her lip in front of him. Feeling like an idiot so jumping to the conclusion that's the man standing in front of her was from another world. * My apologies, Sam, I just thought you were from somewhere else as you just remind me of my Sam from here. I didn't realize there could be two of you from the same dimension. Can I buy you a coffee for apologies? And maybe we start over and talk?
Sam - -He didn't realize there were two of him here but he didn't say anything about it.- There's nothing to apologize for and if you want to talk sure I don't mind.
Jo - *She breathes easy from making an idiot of herself. Okay, he's a different Sam from this world not one of these sites that keep opening up. Which itself needs to be investigated. May Sam would be interested in looking into it. *
Great, I hear that's a great smoothie and sushi restaurant just outside and around the next block if you are interested? I know I could do with some help with a case if you are interested.
Sam - That sounds good. -Stuffing his hands into his jacket he walked alongside her.- Yeah sure, what's the case about?
Jo - Jo began to walk beside him, as they made their way out of the library. She had forgotten how to tall Sam was as she felt like a midget beside him. Looking up to him. Carrying the file in her bag she was allocated back at black waters. She didn't have a permanent hunter partner as she like the freedom of working with many hunters to expanding her acknowledges of all the hunters of black water. She knew in great details of Sam Winchester with his knowledge of the lora of most everything supernatural as the same age knew before this was a book worm and she wonders if this one would be the same.
*Continue to walk around to the little smoothie bar opening the door for Sam to step in* let's take a seat and we can talk. *Walking over to a booth* is this okay Sam? *Offering him a smile as she slips her small body into the booth seat*
Sam on my Last hunt I came across this special book that I've heard everyone is looking for when I mean Everyone I mean the supernatural world especially the witches and special crazy one as in there's this group of species that has been taking the limbs from us the humans but I can't seem to figure out what they are. A few nights ago I was investigating a young woman in a south haven in Michigan, in the State University where she was seen going into a medical building to see a scientist on the CCTV. Around forty-five minutes later a janitor found her in the medical room with her eyes missing and there was a shadow caught in CCTV escaping from jumping out of the ninth story window and landed on its feet. I just don't understand what could stand on its feet from that high. I came back to black waters looking for answers as the trail has gone quiet.
Sam followed Jo and took a seat listening to her. His mind racing for several reasons. He glanced around thinking a public place might not be the best spot if she truly had something everyone wanted but he didn't want to offend her so he let her finish and thought about what to ask first. He'd heard of several books that everyone would like to get their hands on but he wasn't sure which she meant. Lowering his voice.- Jo, this book. It's an actual book? Like a grimoire or is it like a stone tablet? This might not be the best place... to discuss this. -Eyes move from people around them back to her. Could be demons sitting right next to them and they'd never know without outing themselves as hunters in broad daylight.- We'd have to narrow it down there are many things that could do something like that. *Jo listened to Sam and knew she had to be careful to watch what she would say next with all the eyes and ears around. She nodded and smiled at his questions, this Sam doesn't know her well enough to speak in Hunter code to answer him to what book she had. When the time was right and the location, with no ears around she was willing to discuss this further with him. The last thing she wanted was to put Sam or herself in danger of being out on the opening.*, let's have this drink I promised you and we can go somewhere else to show you my workout moves? I know you will want to see them since this was your kind of thing Sam. If you are in?
Sam - Sure, always up for learning something new.
Jo - Good, I can always do with a great hunter on my side. How about me we order and have none hunter conversation right here. To get to know each other since there are unknown ears around. What are you drinking Sam?
Sam - Coffee is fine.
Jo - *Waves to the waitress over* No problem a straight black one? Do you want anything to eat? *Looking at the menu*
