GSD Video 1. - I am looking for dog rescue groups to feature on a new video show/podcast.
First Video from over the weekend. I have featured this group on my old “Dogs by Andrew” public access TV show. It looks like I will be starting a new public access TV show in the very near future. Here are a couple of dogs I saw when I was out visiting German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County. They have some nice dogs and I did see a few German Shepherd Dogs that I really liked. It looks like all of these dogs would make great pets.

Hospice home needed for senior dog who was abandoned in front of shelter. A hospice foster home is being sought for a handsome senior dog named “Sebastian.” Two years ago, someone abandoned the German shepherd outside of an animal shelter in California – Sebastian, being the devoted dog that he was, stayed where he was left, waiting for his family to come back to take him home. Sadly, nobody returned to take Sebastian home. On Wednesday, Maria Dales, director of the German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County, explained what happened next: Shelter employees realized that he had been dumped and took him inside. GSROC has had Sebastian for nearly 2 years and he is in need of a retirement home. She added: He is a lovely, affectionate gentleman, stiff in the hips and in need of daily medication, but friendly and appreciative of every small kindness. Sebastian probably will not be with us for more than another year, so we really want him to retire in a loving home. As a hospice care case, Sebastian’s medical bills and food will be paid for by GSROC—foster family simply provides the love, comfort and companionship that are vital to his well being. Sebastian was betrayed by his family, but he deserves to be loved and spoiled for what remains of his life. Do you know someone wonderful who can give Sebastian safe harbor for whatever time he has left? They will have no expenses—just the profound pleasure of his company! Please share and contact [email protected] Note: Located in Orange County, California and a home with no other dogs is required.

Another innocent homeless animal surrendered to LA on Cloud9 tonight. A German Shepherd puppy. GSROC stepped up and will be handling his adoption process one's he is fully vetted and ready for a loving home. Lately, we have been getting surrendered animals from people experiencing homelessness. This weather and not having proper shelter for them forces many people to surrender their animals to us since they know we help place them in good rescue groups and homes. Not everyone can care for their pets. But the ones that do keep them, we help them with vetting, spay/neuter, vaccines, food, water, leashes and collars. #LAonCloud9 #GSROC #germanshepherdrescueofoc #LAC9 #AnimalLovers #AnimalRescue (at L.A. on Cloud9)

Hospice foster home needed for sweet shepherd who was abandoned. Meet Ben, a sweet, nine-year-old German shepherd who was abandoned in the twilight of his life at a busy, “high-kill” animal control agency in southern California. Ben suffers from a horrible condition known as canine discoid lupus. Ben’s auto-immune disease was left untreated for upwards of a year – in that period of time, Ben lost most of his vision and he is also deaf. Fortunately, despite Ben’s many hardships, he is safe – thanks to the German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County, Ben was saved from an unthinkable demise at the animal control facility where he had been left. Ben is arthritic and has lost his hearing and vision, but he has maintained his sweet and gentle disposition. The rescue agency which saved Ben’s life is hoping to find a hospice foster home where Ben can enjoy the remainder of his life. Maria Dales, with GSROC stated, “We are desperately seeking a hospice home for Gentle Ben where he can live out the rest of his life–no matter how long that may be. GSROC will provide all medications and veterinary care and special diet. We are looking for an animal lover with a heart of gold who will welcome this sweet fellow and provide him with love, stability and comfort. Ben needs a home with no stairs and no pool, but he is open to any other offers.” Can you help this gentle soul? Read more about Gentle Ben and how you can help at this link to the rescue group’s website. http://www.gsroc.org/dogs/gentle-ben/ (Images via GSROC)
