What is an Eyenut?
Eye nuts (eyenuts) are fasteners with a looped head. They are designed to receive a hook or rope. Eye nuts are rated for different types of applications and are oval or round in shape. Load-rated eye nuts are designed for vertical lifting, but are not recommended for use with angular lifts. Eye nuts that are not load-rated are designed for use with tie downs and guiding wires. They are not rated for lifting applications.
What types of eye nuts will work for you?
Currently, there are many kinds of eye nuts.
You can find the angle thimble eyelet, oval eye nut, clevis eye nut and thimble eye nut. Since Eyenuts sizes vary in inches, you most likely need to weigh the job at hand in order to make the right purchases. However, if you have much experience in this field, you will be able to decide with ease.
Just be sure of your specific need for it.
However, we can manufacture the perfect forged eye nut to minimise abrasions and wear that is common to heavy-duty lifting operations for you. With GS Forging you can rely on the forging process, which allows the granular structure to be more dense and retain its strength.
In custom developing these components is where our expertise in Greg Sewell Forging lies using special materials and in-house technology and offering them at competitive prices.

Fasteners play a critical role in the construction of all sorts of everyday objects. If you’ve done any DIY projects, you’ve likely used fasteners to help get the job done.
A fastener is a hardware device that mechanically joins or affixes two or more objects together. In general, fasteners are used to create non-permanent joints; that is, joints that can be removed or dismantled without damaging the joining components.
Mechanical fasteners come in many forms but in Greg Sewell Forgings we can customize some of the type of fastener for you. We can help guide you through every step of the decision-making process to design and manufacture the best fastener for the job. Our manufacturing capabilities extend across a range of material choices and alloys. From stainless steel to high carbon and more niche alloys, we can manufacture custom fittings to suit your exact specifications.
Choose Greg Sewell as your fastener manufacturer. For advice on all things forged, manufactured and engineered componentry, call us so we can help.
Our expert team is at your disposal to work through exactly what you need for your next project. Alternatively, contact us via email.

What are forged fittings?
Forged fittings are used to connect, branch, blind or route small diameter piping systems (generally, below 2 inches). Contrary to butt weld fittings, which are manufactured from pipes and plates, forged fittings are produced by forging and machining steel. Forged fittings are available in multiple shapes, sizes and forged material grades. Forged fittings are connected to pipes by socket weld or threaded connections.
At Greg Sewell Forgings, our highly trained engineers and fabricators are backed by 85 years of experience in forging quality raw materials into premium forged fittings and products.
Your project is overseen by our highly skilled engineering team who ensure there is integrity from the initial discussion to the final handover. Our materials are also subject to macrotech testing, mechanical tensile and impact testing, as well as Ultrasonic Testing and Magnetic Particle Inspection. This means all our customers have peace of mind knowing all GS Forgings products either meet or exceed both National and International standards.
We ensure that your final product is designed and forged to succeed. Get premium, forged parts designed and manufactured to withstand tough field conditions, strenuous loads, and everyday wear and tear.

Foundation Bolts
Foundation bolts are mainly used in pre-engineered buildings manufacturing, fastening heavy machines to foundations, and construction.
What are foundation bolts used for?
The foundation provides stability and prevents extreme building movement to protect the building and its contents from damage or failure. For this stability, structural steel columns are supported by high-strength anchor bolts embedded in the foundation's concrete.
Therefore, accurately installed anchor bolts secure pre-designed metal structures to foundations. The toughness and strength of a metal structure is just pretty much as strong as the establishment it lays on.
That is why Greg Sewell Forging is here for you! Our manufacturing abilities enable us to create custom anchor bolt solutions for any need, to the highest standards of quality. Whether for a single job requiring a low-volume single run of products through to high-volume, continuous production, we’ve got the capabilities to make this happen.
For foundation bolt enquiries, please call to speak to one of our specialists, or contact us via email.

Mill liner bolts are perhaps the most well-known parts in the mining and mineral handling industry, but then breakages are all around too common – generally because of assembled pressure at the foundation of the pocket where the bolt head interacts with the liner pocket. Mill liners protect the mill shell from wear and move energy to the grinding charge.
Advantages of Multotec’s Rubber Mill Liners:
Reduced weight compared to steel liners. This results in less wear on bearings and reduction in torque at start up
The reduced weight makes it safe to install liners by hand, eliminating the need for a mill liner handler
Rubber linings are applicable for a wide range of applications. This is because there are alternatives of resilient rubber or rubber and steel composite liners
Throughput is increased as blinding of grate plates is virtually eliminated
Rubber mill liners reduce noise levels for improved working conditions
Correct mill liner determination is, definitely, among the most significant of your factory segments that should be given cautious thought.
As liner bolts often break or loosen off, high-quality load distribution is pertinent and paired with the correct maintenance, our Mill liner bolts are the first step to a reliable and long-lasting mill.

Forging, in general, has better mechanical properties and ductility than all other metallurgical processes. In most cases, it can withstand an impact better than castings. The grain flow is constant, and the grain size is finer. Porosity, shrinkage, cavities, and cold pour problems are normally avoided when using forgings. Grain flow provides greater wear resistance. Forgings can also often be more cost-effective in the long run than other processes.
At Greg Sewell Forgings, strength, durability, and quality is our highest priority. The Forging process offers a safer and sturdier final product for our partners, which is the key reason we recommend it. By forging, we can ensure our customers a product with higher tensile and yield strength, higher fatigue strength, and an increase in the overall lifespan of the product.

What is Forging?
Forging is a metallurgical process by which metal is shaped and manufactured using heat and compressive forces. The excessive force by which the metal is hammered means the granular structure of the metal remains intact. Rather than reaching its melting point and potentially reducing its elemental lattice of metallic bonds and positive ions, it is manipulated by condensing those bonds without breaking them. By compacting the structure in this way, the forging process allows the metal to retain its strength, eliminate defects and porosity in the product.

When manufacturing metal parts, it’s important to consider all the different variables needed to ensure that you are making the best decision. Each manufacturing process is a viable option in its own right, and so it all depends on so many factors like the intended use of the part, the cost, the amount, the tensile strength needed and the materials. It’s for this reason that George Sewell Forgings offers both the forging process and CNC Machining. Although our incredible team is more than willing to help you decide which is right for you, here are a few key differences between them.
