so what's the deal with that redhead

there's a sneaking suspicion that bubbles within them when the question's asked, if only for the reason that their mind leaped straight to the one person who had upset the routine they'd adopted over the last six years. mind's on the one person who so clearly was able to discern the misery they'd become used to in day-to-day life, who finally served to be something akin to a light in the darkness that had surrounded them for the greater part of the last decade.

nobody had a right to ask him about that; nobody ( that they're aware of ) even knew about that. and so eyes narrow, the furrow of brows from a professionally neutral expression - despite thinking of the one who had warmed him - a break in the otherwise unmovable expression. the entirety of grusha's demeanor grows tense: the set of his jaw / grind of teeth quietly behind the scarf is a forewarning to the topic they'd much rather not recount. last time such body language had been displayed, it had been a warning to the aforementioned reporter.

and yet she'd pressed on with her unapologetic ableism & mocking 'til she found their fist in her diaphragm.

the manner in which she'd rocketed forward from the sensation of knuckles in her gut had sent those gaudy orange sunglasses flying from her face. given the fact she'd gagged and dry-heaved instead of merely gasping for breath, grusha had concluded they'd struck her solar plexus rather than her diaphragm. oops.

"well, she hasn't sued me for assault yet if that's what you mean. and i'd rather avoid talking about that bitch --" an uncharacteristically crass, venomous disrespect from paldea's otherwise calm & composed final leader, "-- so she doesn't try suing me for defamation, if it's all the same to you."
