sorry to bother you but i think the link to your yara shahidi gif icons has been removed?
hiiii u are absolutely not bothering me at all !!! i adore u so hard for being interested in them / wanting to use them but i actually deleted them a few weeks ago bc during grownish s2's production yara was only 18 and me being in my early 20s at the time i made that pack ( 4 years ago ) i wasn't as educated as i am now and i believed as long as the person was 18 it was fine to gif them ( bc they're no longer a minor ) and it's only been in recent years i've changed my views bc i've grown up and educated myself further and while eighteen is legally an adult, it's only just and as someone closer to 30 than 20 i would feel weird giffing an 18-20 year old now . but ya i deleted the pack anyway not only bc i would feel weird and icky knowing people are using resources of an 18 yo that i made but also looking back at the pack - my colouring is absolutely awful cbvmncxb im so sorry !
#anonymous#there's plenty other packs in her tag and i luv yara so will most likely gif her again anyway!

Also...next season (assuming they secure a renewal) let's get some black hair stylists on set please. Faran went natural and they didn't do a damn thing with her hair 😂 They need to link up with whoever was doing Yara Shahidi's hair on Grownish. They were switching Zoey's hair up every episode (included a pic for reference for anyone who is unfamiliar with the character Zoey Johnson). It was extremely pleasing.
...Granted, Faran was actively being harassed by a serial killer, so maybe sis was too stressed to do too much with her hair. But she wasn't too stressed to bust out that straightener on a regular basis. With all the unrealistic shit that happened in this show, I don't think I'm asking for a lot. 🤷🏿♀️

My heart is with everyone at the protests. I am with you in spirit. If I could be there I would, however as someone who is considered high risk for Covid-19 I must take precautions and I'm still social distancing.
If you are like me and unable to go to the protests for whatever reason, I've compiled a list of things you can still do from home to support the BLM movement. This is not a comprehensive list. I tried my best to research and vet any links/sources I used, however I am human. If something is incorrect let me know and I will change it.
Learn the statistics.
The United States has 5% of the worlds population but we make up about 21% of the worlds prisoners. https://www.naacp.org/criminal-justice-fact-sheet/
In 2014, African Americans made up 34% of the country's prisoners. They are incarcerated at more than 5 times the rate of whites. https://www.naacp.org/criminal-justice-fact-sheet/
If African Americans and Hispanics were incarcerated at the same rate as whites, the prison population would decline by 40%. https://www.naacp.org/criminal-justice-fact-sheet/
This isn't because they do more crime. In 2015, the National Survey on Drug Use and Health showed about 17 million whites reported using an illicit drug in the last month, while only 4 million African Americans reported using an illicit drug. https://www.naacp.org/criminal-justice-fact-sheet/
We all know that a criminal record can reduce chances of getting a job, but it affects African Americans even more so. https://www.naacp.org/criminal-justice-fact-sheet/
African Americans are the group most likely to be killed by law enforcement, followed by Native Americans and Latinx. Whites are at the bottom of this statistic. http://www.cjcj.org/news/8113
Learn about the experiences of our black friends, family, and community members. Read stories written by them. Watch their videos talking about it. Watch TV shows like "Blackish" and "Grownish". If you are white then you need to admit that you don't know what it's like. You can sympathize. You can have empathy. But you don't know. Educate yourself. It is not their job to educate you. It is your job to educate yourself. Do not just ask your black friends and family. We live in a world where media like this is readily available. Take advantage of the internet and do your own damn research.
Sign petitions. Use your voice from home. This website has a list of petitions that you can sign.
https://blacklivesmatter.com/petitions/
https://act.colorofchange.org/sign/justiceforfloyd_george_floyd_minneapolis
Do not simply use Change.org. They are a for-profit organization, and there is some question to their validity. Sure, you can still sign a change.org petition because it won't hurt but look for others through valid websites too.
If you can, donate. https://secure.actblue.com/donate/ms_blm_homepage_2019
https://actionnetwork.org/fundraising/donate-to-the-one-struggle-kc-legal-fund
https://www.paypal.me/campaignzero
Support black businesses. Don't support businesses that support/advertise to/on white-supremacists groups. Here is a directory for finding black businesses.
https://officialblackwallstreet.com/directory/
Call/write to your state legislators. Let them know you support criminal justice reform. This would reduce mandatory minimum sentences, especially for things like non-violent drug crimes. That you support passing alternatives to incarceration. That you want weed decriminalized. The list goes on and on. Also research restorative justice. This will give you a good idea of why this is important, and what solutions could look like. Tell them you support mandatory deescalation training for police.
Contact your police chief. Tell him you support mandatory deescalation training.
Educate others about the fact that BLM is not a violent group and that those are fringe groups who are using the BLM movement to try and justify their violence. Remember, not all white people are part of the KKK. Not all violent groups are part of the BLM movement.
Do not stay quiet about that racist joke your friend just told. Staying quiet is staying complaint with racism. Speak up.
Stop talking about the riots and looting. If that's the only thing you are upset about then you are ignoring the real problem. A lot of the riots and such were started by either police sympathizers/plain clothes cops or fringe groups. No, I'm not saying it's right. But people have been peacefully protesting for YEARS. It's been ignored. Along with this, focusing on the riots is giving voice to the idea that BLM is wrong. It's giving voice to those who oppose BLM. Stop it. Stop talking about it. Stop focusing on it. The BLM group isn't who is starting them. The BLM group is bigger than that. And if you still don't believe that, remember that we've been peaceful for years. The Ferguson Unrest was 6 years ago.
Stop with the "all lives matter" shit or the "not all cops are bad" shit. We know this. We aren't saying they don't matter. Or that every single cop is a racist asshole. However, white lives are not at risk. We are not dying daily because of police brutality. I don't have to fear for my life if a cop pulls me over. These two sentences take away the focus from what is going on.
Join Campaign Zero. They talk about how to stop police brutality. They go over various steps/have a tangible plan they explain. https://www.joincampaignzero.org/#vision
Use your privilege. Maybe you can't go to the protests. But, if you are out grocery shopping or something and you see something that looks fishy, stick around. Speak up if needed. When you speak up, talk calmly and respectively. You are not there to make the situation worse. If you don't feel like you can speak up, still stick around. Record. If the cops leave, make sure those who were being targeted feel safe and that they can safely get to their car/where they were going. You can do this while still maintaining social distancing for the most part and you aren't in as large a group as protesters are, if you are like me and it's the pandemic stopping you from joining.
Take a personal inventory on your own privilege. Think about it. Write it down. Write ideas down on how you can use it to help. Research those ideas. Figure out ways to implement your privilege to help others. This is not a comprehensive list. There is more that we can do from home. There is more that we need to do. Sitting at home and saying "Well, I would be at the protests if I could but I can't so there isn't anything I can do" is bullshit. It is a lie. It is a way to make yourself feel better while turning a blind eye to those who need our help and our voices. Yes. Covid-19 is a real reason to stay away from the protests, especially if you are immunocomprimised or otherwise high risk. But the protests are not the only thing that we can do. They are not the only thing we should be doing.

Is this a freeform thing? To promote a show HEAVILY for the first season and then abandon then towards the second and third seasons? Shadowhunters? The Bold Type? Cloak and Dagger? Young and Hungry? It’s so weird. It’s like the specifically do that to loose ratings and then have a reason to cancel the show. The only show I’ve seen them promote steadily is siren and that show sucks ass. I don’t even know why they’re so invested in it. And also Grownish. It’s annoying asf
Yup, indeed it is. Naturally, you don’t spend that much money on promotion on further seasons but you still promote them somewhat. But when it comes to “Shadowhunters” Freeform completely noped out in doing that after 2a. It was as if that show didn’t exist anymore on their radar. In fact, they rather spend time on sabotaging than on anything else. I mean you just have to look at the effort that was “spend” on the s3 poster and then compare it to their other shows, even those that are beyond season one.
Exactly.
Freeform has its pet shows that they spend all the promo budget on like the recent GT or PLLTP though that shit completely backfired. They hyped up a lot their other shows, too, like TBT but now they just do the bare minimum or beyond.
I dunno what their goal here is tbh. Like you don’t apparently look into ratings, you renew your absolute weakest link, but then you say you want social media engagement... well then tell me again why people online still don’t know what Freeform is and what shows are on but you spend millions of money on a ridiculous Emmy campaign or billboards when your targeted audience is fucking online and not offline.
Honestly, this whole network is full of dumbasses I am telling you.

My first recap + discussion of the new season is up y'all! Make sure to check it out with the link below! #grownish #grownishseason3 #representation #diversity #tvshow #ish
It’s good to be back y’all. I’ve missed these recaps so much!
With all the snippets and previews and hints the producers have been dropping since Season 2 ended, you already know we were in for quite the ride. The only think I’m disappointed about is the fact that episodes are still only 30 minutes. Are they not reading our tweets? What happened to two episode season premieres?

EXCLUSIVE: 'All American' & 'Grown-ish' Star Da'Vinchi Is Fine, Philanthropic & Single! Here’s Everything We Learned About The Hollywood Hottie
You better put Da’Vinchi on your radar! Not only is he a sight for sore eyes, the 22-year-old is wise beyond his years. He’s been through some things, but those experiences taught him valuable lessons that he hopes to pass on to our next generation of leaders. Here’s everything we learned about the uber talented Hollywood hottie inside….
You better get familiar because Da’Vinchi is just getting started!
You may know him as hottie Cash Mooney on "Grown-ish," Darnell Hayes on "All American," his stage name Da'Vinchi, or simply as Abraham D. Juste (the name his mother gave him). Not only is he making a splash in the acting world, he’s also uber popular on TikTok (with 1 million followers and counting) and he just launched his rap career!
TheYBF.com exclusively premiered his fire debut single “Bet On You,” featuring female rapper Jus.Be and it’s a total bop. In fact, Da’Vinchi told us he collaborated with her on the track to provide a beat for the kids to dance to on TikTok. Genius!
”Let’s just put a little dance element to it, make it something positive and we just see what happens,” he told TheYBF.com in an interview.
Yep, the #BETONYOUCHALLENGE is coming soon:

Da’Vinchi is ALL about positivity and inspiring the youth. With more music coming down the pipeline, you will not catch the Hollywood actor rapping about sex, drugs and violence. One thing we learned, Da’Vinchi is about that action when it comes to the kids.
The “Grown-ish” star revealed he adopted an all-boys charter school (grades 4th - 6th) in Washington D.C. to become a mentor in an effort to inspire the young, black, male students. However, he wasn’t exactly prepared to hear what one child told him during his first visit at the school.
”I was just there and I finally got to meet the kids last week,” he told TheYBF.com. “One of the kids said to me because of all the shooting that’s going on, ‘I wish I was white.’ I just had to pull him to the side and tell him despite all of this nonsense going on, we’re still dope as hell. We’re KINGS. Not all of us are getting shot. There’s some of us out there, we’re telling a different story. We’re fighting against it. He was really listening because he’s looking at me like ‘This black kid is on TV and I look like him.’ So, it was just amazing. I mean you can’t change the world, but if I can make a difference in some of the kids’ lives that’s all that really matters.
We’re not crying, you are! It’s heartbreaking to learn that this is how our young, black children are feeling during these times, but we’re thankful there are celebs like Da’Vinchi who take time out of their busy schedules to make an impact on our future because it's important.

Turns out, his upbringing is why he holds children so close to his heart. Growing up in Brooklyn, he said he used to commit crimes because, well, he had no other choice. He became a juvenile delinquent after he was caught with stolen property.
”I only did the crimes because I HAD to. But, I just want them to know you can get out of that,” he explained. “So, that’s kind of what I want to be. I just want to be an inspiration to the youth. Adults – a lot of adults are already stuck in their ways, so if I can get the kids, I feel like that’s really it.”
After the sudden and tragic passing of Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman, Da’Vinchi really started to ponder what he wanted his legacy to be.
”I want to inspire the kids and try to shift the mindset of our future leaders,” he shared. “I feel like the world promotes a certain way of living that sometimes I don’t think is necessary to constantly bombard the youth with that because you’re programming them a certain way.”
He continued:
”It’s like the world promotes a significant amount of infidelity and wonder why you’re more likely to get divorced than stay married. I mean, look what the media does. It’s like they give us the poison and the medicine at the same time. It’s kind of like they’re pimping us in some way.”
Wise words.

Looking at him, one would think Da’Vinchi has had a plethora of girls/women in his life, but that’s simply not the case. He's only had two girlfriends so far, but there’s a reason for that. Apparently, he had to learn some hard lessons about trusting females too quickly.
”Sometimes I’m gullible,” he revealed. “Majority of my life I spent working and taking things serious. I didn’t really dabble in having girlfriends left and right. I’ve only had two girlfriends and the first one [relationship] was like four-in-a-half years. I never really experienced [having a lot of girls], so it was this naivety that comes with that from lack of experience.”
At first, the “All American” star would open up too soon and start trusting women, thinking everyone is “cool and trust worthy” and then “you just find out they are putting on a character.”
”Sometimes I didn’t realize that some people look at me like I’m this celebrity and I forget that,” he said.
He has learned his lesson now.
”I’m not that gullible anymore, ya know. I learned my lesson quick,” he said.
So, speaking of women, we had to ask…is he single?
”Yes,” he responded.
What about a relationship? Is he open to one?
”I am if it’s the right relationship. I learned that relationships can be two things: They either make you or break you. Unfortunately, our society is not conducive to healthy relationships and I had to realize that.”
”I’m not opposed to it, but my guard’s up. It’s going to be hard as hell for someone to break these walls. I’ve learned from previous situations that were toxic – it [can] mess up your whole work flow and your life up. You catch yourself getting out of character and things like that. But, if I find something I’m not going to just close my mind off. I’m definitely going to take it slow.”
You hear that ladies? But wait! Is he only open to dating celebs or is a regular, 9 to 5 woman on his radar as well?
”Of course! But the thing is, she has to be used to this world,” he said about dating a regular woman. “I realized that a bird and fish could fall in love, but if they do, where would they be?”
Better shoot your shot (carefully) ladies!
Speaking of dating, there have been rumors swirling that his “Grown-ish” co-stars Chloe Bailey and Diggy Simmons could possibly be dating. Of course we had to ask him about it.
”Wow…umm. They said they’re dating? Whoa! Whoa! That’s not my business,” he responded. “If it’s one thing the streets taught me is to shut the hell up.”
Ha! Well, so much for tea.
Being so young in the game, once you reach 18, you start feeling like you’re grown. We wanted to know what his first “grown” purchase was. And we weren’t expecting his response.
”When I turned 18 I played the lottery [laughs]. I don’t smoke, so I didn’t buy like a cigarette or a Black ‘N Mild [cigar] or anything like that. Now with the way my life is, I feel like I’m grown every day. Life has changed. Life is so serious. Dealing with accountants, taxes, etc. It’s just a lot.”
Tell us about it.
So what’s next for the Hollywood hottie? Plenty!
”I’m working on another song right now that I’m really excited about and it has a little Spanish flavor to it. I’m up for this movie right now. I’m also writing another project and I’m working on my own docu-series about the boys that I’ve adopted.”
Sweet!
Fine, funny, philanthropic, talented and intelligent! We’re here for everything Da’Vinchi’s is serving. You should too.

On a first-of-its-kind tour of Prince’s bedroom, @arnold_daniel caught @yarashahidi laughing to herself and shot her a cartoony look, like, “watch it,” but also, “what you got?” It was December in Minnesota, dark at noon, and she and @arnold_daniel, in particular, had been doing their best to go lightly through a surprisingly arduous day. It’s easy to imagine how strolling a crowd through such a sacred space would put its gatekeepers on edge, but the two were too giddy for piety, standing under the disarming, 15-foot “Everything U Think Is True” mural that @Prince woke up to every day. “What’s so funny?” @arnold_daniel got close and asked. “Nothing,” the @grownish star beamed (she always beams), “it’s just so Prince, but it’s also sooo Minnesota.” Tap the link in our bio to see @arnold_daniel’s photo diary of Yara’s visit to Paisley Park.
