Let's talk more fashion: who are your top ten fictional characters with the best style 🥰
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Right off the bat I have to go with Carrie Bradshaw. She annoyed me to no end for most of the series (apart from that one episode where she went to a house party and someone stole her shoes and she insisted that the guests pay her back for them) but I'd be lying if I said that her outfits don't continue to be iconic and they are always going to be a huge chapter of costume design and fashion. Patricia Field really is THAT woman.

2. Rachel Green my forever girl has to be number 2. I love so many things about her style and how it evolves throughout the seasons. In the early days it was jeans, T-Shirts and overalls but in such a chic and 90's way and then as she starts working in fashion and growing more into a more grownup version of herself she has an amazing office wardrobe that I still take inspo from. I also love all her slip dresses.

3. Meave Maisel. I started watching The Marvelous Mrs Maisel mainly because of the clothes and the fact that it was written by Amy Sherman Palladino and I stayed for as long as I did for the clothes as well. I believe the plot got a bit tired and the creators got distracted by the fact that the budget kept getting bigger so therefore they thought the show should be getting flashier instead of more human and funny but you'll never catch me complaining about the costumes because, well look at them!

4. Lisa Fremont. LISTEN. The costumes in this movie (which is Rear Window, directed by Alfred Hitchcock) are my Roman Empire. Especially the black and white dress combined with Grace Kelly's incredible beauty makes it one of the most iconic fashion moments in cinema history and we should give Edith Head (the costume designer) her flowers.

5. Fran Fine. It took me a while to realize what an absolute fashion icon this woman is because I didn't watch The Nanny as a kid or teenager (I still haven't watched all of it and I plan on making it right eventually) but omg the absolute serve after serve after serve AFTER SERVE. Plus, that body is bodying. And a special mention to this particular outfit which is all of my dreams coming true:

6. Issa from Insecure
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This show's entire costume department deserved all the Emmys, Oscars, Tonys, just everything but Issa's style was always my absolute favorite because it was so versatile and reflected on her character journey as well. Plus I loved the fact that even when she had a casual look on, there were still so many smart details about it. Argh I miss Insecure so much I need Issa Rae back on my screen immediately.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
7. Daisy Jones. This character has had a tight grip on my heart ever since I read the book and I knew I'd love her when I watched the tv adaptation but I didn't expect to love her to the point I spent all of last spring trying to find pieces to recreate her entire cool girl hippy wardrobe. And also I just have to mention this "gold dust woman" moment because it was arguably the most iconic outfit of them all
Tumblr media
8. Holly Golightly
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't think I need to say too much about her to be honest do I? Audrey Hepburn is literally a work of art, in this movie and in general. My maybe somewhat unpopular opinion is that the pink outfit is my favorite one :')
Honourable mentions:
Monica Geller/ Blair Waldorf/ Cher Horowitz/ Zoe from Grownish (I hate the show though)/ Devi from Never Have I Ever/ Hilary Banks from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

Talk about your thoughts on Misfits! Favorite characters, favorite powers, favorite ships, thoughts on the post Nathan era, etc.
Sure! I think nathan probs wins as fave character; I could maybe make an argument for superhoodie but idk that he really counts as a character of his own anyhow?? But any of the original 5 could be in with a shout 🌹👓🧓
I really liked the world building with the powers, and the fact that characters could buy/sell/swap them kinda, which kept stuff interesting! Time travel or telepathy or something might be the most useful, 'rocket scientist' was probs the most iconic, and I feel like power to control dairy products (???) might be the most memorable, although turning ppl bald also in with a shout, as are manifests lsd trips and Real Magic™️
Idk that I was ever super shippy about this show? 🤔 Most of the characters were pretty foul and the show itself was often on a gross out escalation train. Plus I haven't seen it for a long time so I don't remember the side or later characters v well 🤷🏼‍♀️ I feel like simon/Alisha got kinda cute, there was something at some point re nathan/Kelly which was kinda cute, maybe nathan/marnie? But the most important ship poss Ruth negga/screentime
My interest in the show post nathan def dipped! Nathan was probs the most fun character, and Robert sheehan was one of the standout actors. That said, I do like Joseph gilgun (who played rudy) & although his character felt a bit too much like nathan 2.0 (plus the literal split personality power quite blah), he and the remaining main 4 and the world of the show were engaging enough that even if I wasn't as excited by the show I was happy to stick with it. But then basically everyone else left!!! 😭😭😭😭 Once Curtis was gone my interest reallllllly fizzled... I think I've seen all of the show but I'm not completely sure??? Generally not a fan of a show replacing all the characters with new younger less interesting ones (looking at you grownish 🙄) 🙄🙄💤 I actually don't know much about this mass exodus, was it just that the main cast all felt it was kinda time to move on, or was there some #gossip??? 👀👀👀 But yea I'd probs complain most abt the post Curtis era, felt like the show did OK in s3 without nathan & s4 without most of the original cast, and then :/ :/ :/

I usually don't rant on here when it comes to celebs, but I have to put my thoughts into something. Yara Shahidi isn't bothering you guys, so I don't understand why she is getting bullied left and right. I see how people are putting the Bailey sisters (Chloe x Halle), Zendaya, or even Marsai Martin (the actress who played Diane on Black-ish) against Yara. She has done many things before the age of 23. She will be playing Tinkerbell in the new Peter Pan movie. She is already directing, producing, and writing. She already has her own production, she is one of the faces of Dior, she has deals from the computer company Dell, and Adidas, she is one of the faces of Cartier. She was one of the faces of Prada and Chanel. She worked with Tommy Hilfiger. She was in movies with avtors auch as Eddie Murphy and Angelina Jolie. She has been in numerous magazine covers. She is already a style icon due to her unique hairstyles and quirky fashion. She has her own tv shows, Grownish (The Black-ish spin off and her talk show Yara's Day Off). So it is weird to say Marsai Martin is already better than her at everything. I guess Shahidi gets hate because maybe she benefits off from nepotism. She is Prince's goddaughter (Yes, Prince the purple one) and she is rapper Nas' cousin. Yara never pressured herself to turn to a sex symbol by the time she turned 18, unlike some of her peers. She was being herself, and she still is. She doesn't come off as a try hard.

The Little Mermaid star, Halle Bailey, announced the release of her debut single, “Angel,” set to come out this Friday, August 4, 2023.
In 2012, Chloe and Halle Bailey first hit the scene as a singing sister duo by making covers on Youtube, which got the attention of Hollywood, landing them on The Ellen Show. A few of their famous covers include the Beyoncé songs “Best Thing I Never Had” and “Pretty Hurts.”
Following this, the duo appeared on Disney Channel’s Next Big Thing, but their Disney journey didn’t stop there. This opportunity landed them an appearance on Austin and Ally performing “Unstoppable” the same year. Soon after, they became best known as Beyonce’s protegees, signing with Parkwood Entertainment in 2015.

Chloe x Halle made their professional debut, under Parkwood, with their EP, Sugar Symphony, released in April 2016. A year later, the duo released a mixtape and continued to release music together until 2020. While simultaneously playing Sky and Jazz in Kenya Barris’ Grownish.
On July 3rd, 2019, Disney announced that Halle had been cast as Ariel for their live rendition of The Little Mermaid. The film marks Halle’s first solo endeavor since her rise to fame with her sister Chloe. Though, there was a lot of controversy around Halle being cast for the role. Many viewers believed since Halle was African-American, the part was not consistent with the original cartoon version of Ariel. Despite this, both director Robert Marshall and the original voice of Ariel, Jodi Benson, came to her defense.
“After an extensive search, it was abundantly clear that Halle possesses that rare combination of spirit, heart, youth, innocence, and substance—plus a glorious singing voice—all intrinsic qualities necessary to play this iconic role,” Marshall said in a statement. “The most important thing is to tell the story and that the spirit of a character is what really matters,” Benson added.
In October of 2021, Halle had her first solo performance celebrating 50 years of Walt Disney World, performing “Can you feel the love tonight.”
Soon after this came the rollout of The Little Mermaid, which ignited something in every little Black girl worldwide. Halle’s singing abilities are undeniable, and this movie only excited people for what will come next from the actress-singer.

She assured us that after The Little Mermaid wraps up, she will begin focusing on her singing career as a solo artist. This new single did not come as a surprise but was definitely heavily anticipated. After watching Halle rise for the last 11 years, with a heavy heart, I can say with no doubt that we expect nothing but greatness for her newest endeavor as a solo artist.

hiiii u are absolutely not bothering me at all !!! i adore u so hard for being interested in them / wanting to use them but i actually deleted them a few weeks ago bc during grownish s2's production yara was only 18 and me being in my early 20s at the time i made that pack ( 4 years ago ) i wasn't as educated as i am now and i believed as long as the person was 18 it was fine to gif them ( bc they're no longer a minor ) and it's only been in recent years i've changed my views bc i've grown up and educated myself further and while eighteen is legally an adult, it's only just and as someone closer to 30 than 20 i would feel weird giffing an 18-20 year old now . but ya i deleted the pack anyway not only bc i would feel weird and icky knowing people are using resources of an 18 yo that i made but also looking back at the pack - my colouring is absolutely awful cbvmncxb im so sorry !
