The Hot Saucening pt I

fermenting the peppers for my first attempts at hot sauce, I hope the sauces themselves will be this pretty when they're done

They all have my homegrown garlic and a 3.5% brine

Green: jalapeño, big jim, garlic, peppercorn

Yellow: 7 pot Golden Bubblegum, garlic, dried hibiscus flower, and I'll add fresh mango to the sauce after ferment stage

Red: Tien Tsin and Wild Brazil Cross, lots of garlic and fresh ginger, peppercorn, dried hibiscus

after fermenting for a few days, I'll blend and strain them, add tomato and onion, and give them as Christmas gifts! Not following any recipes except for the general process and the brine %, so it'll be amazing if I make something that actually tastes good

The first climbing beans (Purple King) are just starting to produce as the bush beans (Cherokee Wax) are coming to an end.

Such a great feeling when a planting plan pays off!

What's this? My five-foot-tall purple tree collard, a wonderful perennial plant whose leaves are yummy when cooked. My tree collard is growing in a raised bed amidst rose campion, nasturtium and regular collard greens (under the white cover).

The Beefy Resilient Grex, edible lupines(!), and cowpeas that are supposed to do well here. Just look at them! So cool!

Y'know the fun thing abt how I've set up the society that the main stalien cast comes from is that even the most broad general trends across stalien societies tend to not apply to them. So everytime I yap about how most herds form and the general trends in their societies I just get to remember mid yapping that basically none of this will ever be evident or even come up in the main story. sometimes I remember the fact that at the ripe age of 9, I felt ashamed for watching and loving Lego Ninjago, bc I felt like I was "too old" for the show, and it was targeted for a "younger audience". (this went for most of my in general) and how Older Me would look back and cringe at the fact I enjoyed these "children shows/ things".

And now, as an Adult, I see how absolutely ridiculous that sentiment was. And to this day I still enjoy "children shows/ things" (LMK, TOH, mythology, dinosaurs, etc.,).

Like no- now all i want to do is look back and whisper "you will still enjoy these things in the future, and you will even create so much art of the things you find interesting. You will go to college for some of these things. Enjoying harmless things isn't childish."
