16.02.2024
Chudego dnia!! ಗ‿ಗ

Yeah it’s for 4 dlc packs in the package. Still makes my eyes bulge out seeing a three digit digital game though
Unfortunately modern rhythm games do tend to be like that (just TRY and buy all the DLC for Groove Coaster). It's still no Train Simulator.

What's going on? It sure is - Arcade Edition
I took photos of my what the cat plush at local arcades where I lived before moving. Here are those:
Tumblr media
The critter in my purse on the way to meow's first arcade visit. Love the way its little eyes are peeking out :3
I ended up replacing this purse a month or so after with a canvas purse. It tore a hole, and I decided it wasn't worth replacing with another crappy nylon one.
Tumblr media
A visit to Groove Coaster (I think it was 4) before the servers shut off. Rest in peace, pal.
Tumblr media
.....I'll make this wordplay again: WhatCat re:||VERSE.
Tumblr media
I'm not very good at this game, but I figured meow should visit a bullet hell for enrichment.
Tumblr media
Ah yes, meow visits the land from which meow's friend Jonathan originated. (also this was my first time playing PIU, hence, why I can't handle a 4) (I mean I still can't now, but that's not the point SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH)
Then came later trips, to the same arcade.
Tumblr media
Behold, bisexual what.
Tumblr media
meow looks content, perhaps Exceed Gear reminds meow of a similarly-named weapon style in a certain NOISZ arcade port... who's to say?
Tumblr media
A little spot just for meow to rest.
Tumblr media
Looks like Sumire and Hitori aren't the only phoenixes meow has gotten to meet, after this.
My last visit, which was to a different arcade than the previous ones. It's farther away, but generally has a better selection (important to me is maimai and Taiko no Tatsujin). Also, there's local server support for WACCA Reverse, which was great to use. The save data even carried over to where I moved, so that was good to find out (I didn't know how that worked at the time)
Tumblr media
I got very lucky with Puyo Puyo Fever being brought back onto the arcade floor during my last visit before moving. The presence of this game is what caused me to discover the wonderful local arcade that housed it. I even wrote a paper for high school about the joyous experience of going to what felt like gamer heaven for the very first time. It's so fitting my last time here mirrored my first time, in that way.
Tumblr media
What also got to see I believe Mr. Driller G, which was very cool. I'm bad at this game, but I had fun anyway. Getting to see this and play it was exciting in of itself. I really need to get Mr. Driller Drill Land for my Switch one of these days.
Tumblr media
Vivid Wave was fun, although as a newbie with no e-amuse card, I generally didn't notice any significant difference between this and Exceed Gear. Still, was fun.
Funny thing is that I believe I knew from hearsay that MARENOL was in vivid/stasis as some sort of secret boss but hadn't unlocked it myself (based on my achievements timestamps).
That final visit is special to me, not only because of how much mental real estate this arcade has taken up for me over the years but also my first time playing an arcade rhythm game with other people. Two friends (or perhaps a couple? Idk) were playing maimai FiNALE and played with me, and I had fun even if it was awkward as hell ahaha.
It was a good note to leave my home state on and begin the next chapter of my life.
...
Finally, a bonus photo of what with my DS/3DS game cases, which are currently packed into a cardboard box ready to be loaded onto the moving truck:

The Best Animated Series of 2022
2022.  Another year of Animation has come and gone, and so it is now time to do the one thing that I do on this site: make my top 10 list. This year should be an interesting mix, since I am allowing myself to put adult animated shows on the list for the first time.  But only if they are exceptional.  While this definitely made making this list harder this year, due to more content, it wasn’t as bad a deluge as I feared.
Before we unveil the list, I also wanted to give a shout-out to the best thing that happened in 2022: the return of Gargoyles in comic form.  From Dynamite Publishing, written by series creator Greg Weisman.  Gargoyles is my favorite show of all time, it’s the reason I became enamored of Animation in the first place.  So I highly encourage everyone to check the comics out, if you can.
Tumblr media
And now for the list: Honorable Mentions: Green Eggs and Ham, Dragon Age Absolution, and Paranormal Park were all fantastic shows, I just thought that the following ten series were slightly better.  But all three of these shows ALMOST made the list as I was working on it, so I thought they belonged here.   And without further ado:
10) Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir
Tumblr media
The French Action Adventure show about two superheroes in love with each other continues to go strong for it’s fourth and fifth seasons, which have included some of the best episodes of the show.
Available on: Netflix (S1-3) Disney+ (S4 & 5*)
9) Legend of Vox Machina
Tumblr media
Man I wish someone would animate my D&D campaign.
Available on: Amazon Prime.
8) Kid Cosmic and the Global Heroes!
Tumblr media
Craig McCracken’s amazing superhero show is the first one on this list that officially ended this year, and went out quite strong.  I cried at the end of the series.  Definitely worth a look.
Available on: Netflix
7) Tales of the Jedi
Tumblr media
I’m not much of a Star Wars fan.  It’s hard for me to even care outside of the Rebels series.  But this anthology series was so good, I’d be remiss to exclude it from the list.
Available on: Disney+
6) The Dragon Prince: The Mystery of Aaravos
Tumblr media
If I’m being honest, TDP was a bit weaker this season than previous showings.  We’ve had a time skip and the characters are now all in different places, which made it a little harder to get back into a groove with them.  But the story was still fantastic and I can’t wait to see how the next 4 seasons unfold.
5) The Owl House
Tumblr media
Why are you not watching this show?  You definitely SHOULD BE, it’s FANTASTIC.  The top four-through-two shows on this list were, IMO all so good, it was impossible to objectively place them in any order, so I’m listing them by my favorites.
Available on: Disney+
4) Star Trek: Prodigy
Tumblr media
This show taught me to love Star Trek again.  Everything from the voice work, to the animation, to the story is an absolute treat.  The easter eggs aren’t heavy handed, but will excite you trekkies when you see them, and the plot kept me fully excited and engaged all season long.
Available on: Paramount+
3) Amphibia
Tumblr media
Another show we said goodbye to this year, the series finale had me in tears.  I just love these characters so much.  Everyone should watch this show, especially if they want something more from the property, and the defictionalized Marcy’s Journal hinted at some interesting future possibilities...
Available on: Disney+
2) Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous
Tumblr media
Another show that we said goodbye to this year, Season 5 was an excellent close to the series, especially following the slightly weaker season 4.  The epilogue hinted at the possibility for further hijinks with these characters, and I hope we get them.  This is my favorite entry in a Movie Franchise that I already love.
Available on: Netflix
1) Young Justice Phantoms
Tumblr media
WOO-HOO!  It’s here!  It’s finally here.  I can finally actually put the show I actually thought was the best of the year on my actual list, instead of just being an “Honorable Mention” like in past years.  This season was an incredible well written roller coaster of character and story arcs, that kept my attention and interest from beginning to end.  I cannot emphasize how good this show.  There was never any question where it was going to fall on my list, unlike the rest of the shows on here.  It was always going to be #1 because it was the best.  Watch it on HBOMAX while you still can, because given what has been happening over there lately, who who knows how long that will be.
Available on: HBOMAX, for now.

DIY Log Slice Display Dome
Tumblr media
Project by Kate:
i just want to say that i envy all of you out there with a working fireplace. i have very fond memories of sitting around a crackling fire in maine, and watching my dad place freshly chopped firewood in a huge pile outside. that being said (anyone else watch curb your enthusiasm?), i am glad i can bring wood projects into my home on a smaller scale while i enjoy the mild california winter. the month of december will feature wood projects for decorating and gift giving, and they are all fairly easy projects requiring few tools. this first project is very special to me because i have always loved miniatures, and now i have a nice homemade display jar for all of my little treasures. these would make a charming hostess gift, or great holiday table decor; i can see a cluster of them with fresh pinecones and sprigs of winter greens tucked inside. all you need is a saw, and you could even skip the wood-burned indentation ring if you were in a hurry, but i think it adds a nice touch. plus that way i get the brief nostalgic experience of smelling burning wood! have fun! – kate
materials:
1. wooden log (if you want to skip the sawing wood step, you can buy wood coasters at various places. i found these simple ones online)
2. saw (chop saw or a regular tooth saw and mitre box)
3. pencil
4. stemless wine glass, drinking glass, or a clean glass jar (this is depending on what shape you want your jar to be. i found stemless wine glasses had a nice domed shape, but a jar would also look nice. if you want to size these up, i recommend using mason or other food container jars or simple glass vases as cheap options)
5. wood burning tool (these are sold at craft and hobby stores, and range in price from $12 up to $30 or so. you need one with a medium rounded tip, or you can purchase the tip separately)
cost:
stemless wine glasses: $3 for two at crate and barrel wood logs: free (cut from logs in my backyard) wood burning tool: $15
time:
2 hours
Tumblr media
instructions:
1. cut your log slice. it can be anywhere from 1″ – 3″ thick, but make sure both sides are flat so it sits level.
2. flip your glass over and center it in your log slice. trace around the rim with a pencil to leave a ring template on your log.
3. turn on your burning tool and let it heat up. working very slowly and carefully, burn the ring into the wood so it is is indented by about 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch. when you are tracing the ring with the burner, work on the inside of the line because the line you traces sits directly outside the actual rim, and you want the rim to fit into the groove you are burning. stop every few minutes to place the glass in the ring to see if your shape is right. i recommend not trying to draw the entire ring at once with the burner, but instead burn tiny dots one right next to each other and then run over them again and again to connect them into a continuous shape.
4. switch off your burning tool and let it cool down. brush off the top of your wood and place you glass upside down. the rim of the glass should fit into the burned ring, preventing the glass form slipping around.
note: you do not need the indentation ring, but it does help keep the glass positioned and the burned wood pattern is actually quite lovely. but the glass can also simply sit atop the log if the log is level.

October 20th, 2023 - SDVX EG, Groove Coaster, Project DIVA, DaR, PIU PHOENIX, DDR A3
THE TRUE DAY OF RECKONING HAS ARRIVED, NOW IT'S REALLY TIME FOR MOTL5 GAMING!!! but first, isn't this card the absolute coolest??? i got it while checking into the event, slapped a crude drawing of my fursona onto it, and now i'm geared up n ready to destroy!!!
Tumblr media
so i went to waffle house for the very first time with my family to eat breakfast (very good experience btw, i already miss the chocolate waffles), then we set off to spend the whole day at the mall and GUESS WHO I FOUND FIRST THING IN THE MORNING
Tumblr media
IT'S BOMBER IN REAL!!! IN THE FLESH!!! WITH HIS ICONIC LACH TOWEL!!! AND HE KICKED MY ASS AT SDVX!!! (but he gave me haruka e-amuse pass to compensate :])
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
always wanted to meet him in person and the dream had become REAL, SUPER COOL EXPERIENCE!!!
also random tangent but while we were playing sdvx, it turned out the PIU Phoenix kit was installed overnight and was being played while we were playing?? just last night it was XX... but i guess now i'd finally get a taste of the new system for the first time!
since all the dance game cabs (except DaR) were occupied for tourneys, i decided to warm up with the alternative... the busted old unused cabs! gc is so broken whyyy
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
bonus: HAPPY FAMILY feat. moca and uli!!! (the tiny kohammy is mine)
Tumblr media
but now, after all those exhilarating meetings and fun times, it's time for the real deal, my personal action moment of the event... it was TOURNEY TIME!! STARTING WITH PIU PHOENIX!!! warmups were simple, trying out the new songs and getting used to the pads,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
but then, it was the real deal vs MajinnTy in a waterfall-style bracket... and after almost getting wrecked with the top-right arrow dropping continuously... i managed to beat him 2-1 and took 2nd place in the pool!!! but since it's waterfall format (i didn't realize this until later), i got thrown into the redemption pool with everyone else and wouldn't get to play until later... but in retrospect that was STILL such an impressive victory.
Tumblr media
so once the redemption pool started, i got put up against EMCAT, who had been slowly upgrading from level 2 up to here. it was a weird match, but i hypothetically managed to 2-0 in my set, getting this sick 985k on beat of the war! but once again, it wasn't enough to beat the acc gods in the pool, PacRob and Ty, and i ended up 3rd out of 6 in the bracket, which left me a little dejected to see i wouldn't have my dark horse moment in my first tourney... but in retrospect i worked against the odds and managed to do really well!!! such a nice showing personally, and i'm excited to train some more and try again some other time! (also the 2nd image is from the commentary that my friend watched when i was up which is why i mentioned the dark horse moment, forever alone...)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
but NOW!!! IT WAS TIME FOR THE 2ND AND LAST TOURNEY OF MINE FOR THE NIGHT, THE ONE THAT WOULD SEAL MY POTENTIAL OVERALL LEGACY, THE DDR A3 TOURNAMENT!!! unlike the previous PIU tourney, this was a round robin format where all 4 players got to play against each other once in a best-of-three set. and after a set between two others in my pool, i was up for some back-to-back sets, starting with LUBANAHHHH
having warmed up already with pump, i decided to pick long train runnin' challenge for my warmup to confuse the commentators, but then the REAL action began. our first song was lubanah's pick, New York Evolved (Type A) DSP-13 (fucked up), which i dominated solely thanks to MA! and then when it was my pick, i PFC'ed Yoidore Shirazu ESP-13 on-stream once again, taking the set 2-0!!
Tumblr media
next up was against KINDLADY/Zaphine, where we both went in without warmup and played Xepher CSP-15 (Zaphine's pick) and Mess With My Emotions ESP-12 (my pick), and i took the set 2-0 again!! except with such a close call on Mess With My Emotions...
Tumblr media
and finally in my pool, i played against MisterGuy in both Step Machine ESP-14 (my pick) and Healing Vision (Angelic Mix) ESP-13 (MisterGuy's pick), where i would just barely win Step Machine by 2 points (even got clipped on the Ohio DDR channel), and then PFC Healing Vision to claim my 2nd in-tourney PFC, taking the set once again 2-0 and advancing to level 9 with a perfect performance!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
level 9 came and i was put up against SnowStorm/SIM, thejurok, and gabbyjay, which would be where my demise would come... only before a bunch of cab crashes! no scores for most of these unfortunately, but i was bested 0-2 by SnowStorm on Revolutionary Addict ESP-13 and PARANOiA Revolution DSP-14 (my MA wasn't quite up to par on either songs, probably exhaustion from only eating before my pump tourney...)
for my set against jurok though, i won my first pick; roppongi EVOLVED Ver.D ESP-15, even despite forgetting to disable my sudden+ before the speedup!!! i forgot what his pick was, but i lost it and lost the tiebreaker too, MAX 300 DSP-12, in order to lose the set 1-2...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
then lastly, the final and most ultimate set... the one against longtime Black Flag Academy admin and potential rival, GABBYJAY!!! this set was super funny because we both won each other's picks (he won Bang Pad(Werk Mix) ESP-13, i won osaka EVOLVED (TYPE1) DSP-13), and for the tiebreaker we got New Gravity CSP-14...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and after such an intense battle not shown on stream due to the sheer intensity and vulgarity (actually the stream was what was causing the cab to crash repeatedly), we finished the song and looked at each others' scores to see the results, and...
...by two points. i got a PFC up from a 988k, on-stream, not having seen the chart before, and yet i fell short by such a tight margin, losing the set once again 1-2...
Tumblr media
but overall, super satisfying performance from both ends (and super funny reaction)!!! i loved this experience even if i didn't advance twice (which is fine, level 9 was more of a victory lap anyways LOL i was just a silly little teen playing against intimidating adults). but that did indeed conclude my tournament run at the mistaketh on the laketh, so until next time! thanks all who tuned in and cheered me on in chat, the support was so nice to read back at the hotel! but there's still 2 more days of the event to enjoy, so let's enjoy 'em!

since fob just came out with a new album, i figured i would give you my reaction to it
does anyone care? probably not lol
feel free to read and if not, whatever haha
Love From the Other Side
10/10 love this song, loved it since it came out. this is EXACTLY what i have needed.
Favorite Lyric: I'd never go, I just want to be invited
2. Heartbreak Feels So Good
i know this song came out before the album, but i never got around to listening to it. so this is my first time hearing it.
it was pretty good song for the most part. the lyrics are a little meh, but i do like the "heartbreak feels so GOOD" part. vocals on point as usual. kinda zoned out at one point lol
Favorite Lyric: We'll cry later or cry now, but baby / Heartbreak feels so good
3. Hold Me Like a Grudge
omg… i love this??? so fucking much????????
it has such a good bassline, such a good song to groove to. i think patrick's vocals get a little bit lost in the music, but it still sounds really good. i love the lyrics. i wasn't sure what to expect with this song but i genuinely loved it the entire time i listened to it.
Favorite Lyric: Part-time soulmate, full-time problem / Hold me like a grudge
4. Fake Out
heard the first chords of this song and i was like 'oh, this is gonna be a sad one' and i was right.
the lyrics are such a gut punch. if you're someone like me who kinda lives in fantasy and daydreams to get by, this song hurts a lot. this song reminds me of a lot of a paramore's song - super upbeat but lyrically melancoly. i love it and it almost made me cry.
correction, i was looking over the lyrics for one i liked the most, and i started crying. so… thanks fob.
Favorite Lyric: We did it for futures that never came / And for pasts that we're never gonna change (but honestly there are so many in this song i could have picked any of them)
5. Heaven, Iowa
in the first half of the song, i was like ehh, idk. it was reading like a phil collins song or just like pure 80s, and i was kinda on the fence about it.
but the chorus. omg the chorus. patrick…. THEM VOCALS. seriously he is so good.
i like the lyrics a lot. the ending was fantasic.
Favorite Lyric: Talking to the mirror say, "Save your breath / Half your life you've been hooked on death"
6. So Good Right Now
love the general vibe of this song - upbeat but everything crashing and burning around me. that's me everyday lol
i think the lyrics are so personal in this song. i think we can all relate to changing ourselves for someone else, especially when we love them and want to be with them as long as possible.
song was super fast, kinda wish it never ended lol
Favorite Lyric: I got this doom and gloom in my mind / I got this doom and gloom but I feel all right
7.The Pink Seashell
not really a song, but it was very pretty.
idk where this monologue is from, but… ouch.
8. I Am My Own Muse
very dramatic, reminds me so much of folie.
love the heavy as guitars and all the orchestral instruments too. they had such a dark touch to the whole song.
totally didn't start tearing up at my favorite lyric…. who told you that??
Favorite Lyric: I'm just trying to keep it together / But it gets a little harder when it never gets better
9. Flu Game
fob is really coming for my neck rn dear lord.
as i've kinda mentioned on here before, my ex best friend of 10 years decided to randomly end our friendship and subsequently i lost all of our friends in common, and it's been a bit of roller coaster emotionally. and these lyrics…. fuck me, they are just connecting with me so much.
Favorite Lyric: Oh God, kinda please would you kill me now? or Last night I dreamt I still knew you, you / I carved out a place in this world for two / But it's empty without you
10. Baby Annihilation
first off love that the previous song blended into this one. always a fave of mine when songs on albums do that.
interesting, another poem/monologue on the album. love when pete does his whole speech at the end of a song, but making this it's own is fun.
11. The Kintsugi Kid (Ten Years)
again, they're trying to make me hurt, that's all i will accept at this point.
this feels like such a nostaligic song, too. god. didn't think this would be the third song on fob's album i would be crying to, but here i am.
Favorite Lyric: I felt you at the beginning / But needed you at the end
12. What a Time to Be Alive
never thought i would full on CACKLE at a fob, but oh my god???!?!??!?!?!?!
i love this. no other words. 1000+/10
Favorite Lyric: 'Cause everything is lit except my serotonin or When, when, when I said, "Leave me alone" / This isn't quite what I meant
13. So Much (for) Stardust
this reminded me so much of marianas trench and how they will make the final song on their albums an accomulation of all the other songs on the album. and i really love that for fob.
this song is such a sad ending, but also not?? like it just feels like almost admitting you were upset all this time, and now you're left with what to do with finally telling everyone how you felt.
seriously so good. vocally, i mean… cmon.
Favorite Lyric: I used to be a real go-getter / I used to think it'd all get better
OVERALL: this is seriously one of fob's best albums to date. it isn't the same as anything else they've released, and it's so much more mature than previous album. musically, it has a lot of similarities to past projects, but i think it takes on a life of it's own and is unique amongst all of their other works. a lot more groovy than i ever expected them to sound like. lyrically, gut punching. thanks for making me cry three times. wish i could see you guys in concert but yall REFUSE to come to philly. and coming to camden does not count !!
i'm gonna go listen to this for another week and half, see yall on the other side lol
RANKING OF THE SONGS

okay i’m gonna try this
disney movies ranked arbitrarily based on my selective memory, bias, and other petty reasons <3 the rules are pretty simple— each movie gets a point for every song i like, no points for songs i don’t care about/skip, and negative points for songs i hate <3 im excluding anything live action and anything outside of the main animation studio, so no pixar, no dreamworks, and no sequels, and no enchanted, mary poppins, and definitely no into the woods. otherwise i’d never stop talking. some of this will be repeated from the categorized post i just made but it’s a different sorting system because i love sorting systems
if these movies have songs i cannot tell you what they are— dumbo, fox and hound, black cauldron, oliver, rescuers down under, great mouse detective, bambi, atlantis, raya and the last dragon, strange world, king arthur, three cabelleros, brother bear, anything else i can’t even think of right now (score: 0)
they’re not really musicals but there is at least one major bop: robin hood (the “oodilalee oodilalee golly what a day” song is cute), lilo and stitch (hawaiian roller coaster ride), 101 dalmatians (cruella de ville is so funny), aristocats (everybody wants to be a cat), lady and the tramp (bella note is nice and he’s a tramp is funny), alice in wonderland (happy unbirthday is cute) sleeping beauty (once upon a dream is pretty, i like how it incorporates the melody from the ballet) (score: 1)
pinochio: i guess wish upon a star is from pinochio, i thought it was in peter pan at first oops, actually i do think there are other songs i do hate but i can’t remember them well enough, which works in this movies favor (score 0.5)
the empowers new groove: the only one i can think of is yzma’s song, which was cut so (score: 0)
song of the south: i’ve never seen this nor do i want to but i do remember when ally and an covered zipidee doo dah (score: 0)
peter pan: i actually like “you can fly” but this point is revoked for the racist tiger lily song (score: 0)
jungle book: bare necessities is a cute proto hakuna matata, but i don’t like monkeys (score: 0)
fantasia: none of the characters are singing, all the music isn’t even original, but there is some impressive animation (score: 0.5)
tarzan: i don’t think phil collins did a BAD job, but compared to disney musicals where characters sing their own songs, these all sound kinda same-y. (0.5 for strangers like me, which is, okay, pretty good)
the princess and the frog: i only really remember “almost there” and “friends on the other side” but those are both great songs (score: 2)
snow white: “hi ho” isn’t as good as other fun and games songs imo, but it is memorable, “someday my prince will come” is nice enough (score: 1.5 i guess)
aladdin: one jump ahead, friend like me, and prince ali are so energetic and fun, and a whole new world is really lovely. -1 for the original arabian nights being so racist they had to change a line. (score: 3)
the little mermaid: i really love “part of your world” and “poor unfortunate souls” so so much. “kiss the girl” is cute, sure. “under the sea” is a little over rated but i can’t say it’s not good. “les poissons” is funny but not enough to get points (score: 3.5 i guess)
hunchback of notre dame: hellfire, god help the outcasts, and bells notre dame are so good. topsy turvy is not bad enough to lose points. (score: 3)
pochahontas: i liked this one as a kid because of ~nature~ and because pochahontas gets two solos. i like “just around the river bend” and “colors of the wind” even if they are kinda similar. loses a point for both sides-ing colonialism in “savages” (score: 1)
mulan: “reflection” is beautiful and emotional, “honor to us all” introduces is a great ensemble piece, “i’ll make a man out of you” is a great hype song, “a girl worth fighting for” is fine. this gets a bonus point for having a song in the sequel, “like other girls”, that was SO memorable i thought it was in the original (score: 4)
cinderella: “a dream is a wish your heart makes” is sweet, “so this is love” is pretty, and “bippiy boppity boo” is cute. there’s another song where the mice are like “cinderell-y cinderell-y” but idk which one. i still like rogers and hammerstein better. (score: 3)
tangled: i like repunzels i want song, gothels villain song, and the romantic duet. the fun and games song is okay (score: 3)
frozen: i like the snowman song, let it go is pretty good despite how over played it was, love is an open door is funny, and that song elsa and anna sing before the coronation that i can never remember the name of. the troll song is annoying, but not SO bad i want to take away a point for it. however, the reindeer song and “in summer” are annoying enough to take away points sorry (score: 2)
moana: i like how the melody from “how far i’ll go” recurs in the climactic song “i am moana”, and “your welcome” is a lot of fun. shiny is okay. (score: 3)
encanto: i like meet the madrigals as an intro song, surface pressure and bruno are pretty good, and i think i liked isabella’s song but i can’t remember the actual song (score: 3 i guess)
the lion king: “circle of life” is cinematic, i “hakuna matata” and “i just can’t wait to be king” are fun, and “be prepared” admittedly goes really hard. “can you feel the love tonight” is different because it isn’t sung by the characters, but it’s fine i guess. i’d really love to see the broadway adaptation for the costume designs alone. (score: 4)
hercules: the aesthetics really are the strength of this movie. i already mentioned i love the idea of using a gospel chorus for a movie about green gods, the muses are so fun. “gospel chorus” and its all its reprises are the best exposition i’ve ever heard. “go the distance” is lovely, chiron’s training montage song is fun, “zero to hero” is even more fun, “won’t say i’m in love” is my faaaavorite! (score: 5)
beauty and the beast: i am more than a little biased, but this soundtrack simply does not miss. “belle” and “belle reprise” i’ll count as one song, but i think it’s a really cool to put belle’s i want song in contrast with the world she lives in. “gaston” is a fun and games song for the villain, while setting up the mob mentality for the “mob song”, “be our guest” is a stellar piece of animation/choreography, “human again” isn’t even IN the original movie, but i think it’s nice to see the castle staff confiding in each other, and it’s a a waltz! yay! i actually didn’t realize it was only in the extended edition until like. three weeks ago. i never understand why sometimes it was in the movie and sometimes it wasn’t. anyway! “something there” is less a love song and more of a falling in love song, which i think is really nice, i love how belle and the beast have little asides about their new feelings, and how the castle staff gossips about them. and then “beauty and the beast (tale as old as time)” is just really really lovely sonically, lyrically, and animation wise. it’s unusual for the love songs because it’s not sung by either of the characters or any sort of narrator but a side character, but mrs potts is great, i love the well meaning nosiness of the castle staff, love angela lansbury, but i have to say, i do like how belle and the beast reprised this in the 30th anniversary edition they just did. and of the songs they added to the broadway musical, i really like “home” and “if i can’t love her” and the rest i like well enough, they all add something at least. “prologue” is the only song i don’t give points to because it’s spoken rather than sung, but the musical motifs are quite lovely, and i love the storybook feel (tangentially— according to google, the broadway version of “mob song” changes the key from f major to a minor… what’s up with that? does that happen a lot? i just think it’s interesting) (another random note, i vaguely remember bernadette peters little angel character for the christmas sequel but i don’t remember any actual songs) EDIT: i almost forgot but i wanted to add a note about how beauty and the beast includes the ensemble in nearly every song, beauty and the beast, the only true solo, is a love song sung by a character outside of the love story. i think it’s really cool and makes the world seem more filled out (score: 6)

17 and 18?
Thanks for the ask!! ^_^
17) Do you play mobile games?
Yes, big one I'm playing right now is project sekai. It's had its grip on me for almost 4 years. I'm also replaying mystic messenger atm. I've replayed almost every route so far. I'm on Day 10 of Ray's route and need to do his after ending once I'm done which I've never done. In the past I've played fire emblem heroes, groove coaster, bang dream, and tap tap revenge
18) A game you started, but never finished.
There's a few like Boogie Man which is part of the Strange Man series by Uri, The World Ends with You, Fire Emblem Echoes, and Omori, Coffee Talk and The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. I don't dislike them I just started playing and then stopped and then never picked it up again lolol but I should get back to them
Send a number!!

Dubai, the city of bling and skyscraping dreams, isn't just about luxury and high-end glam. It's also where the funky side of innovation comes to play in the dazzling world of exhibitions. Buckle up, because we're about to take you on a rollercoaster ride through Dubai's Exhibition Extravaganza, where funk meets innovation, and the ordinary gets a dose of extraordinary!
1. Tech & the City: GITEX's Geek Chic
Dubai isn't just about desert safari and shopping sprees; it's also the playground for tech nerds at GITEX Technology Week. Imagine a tech fiesta where robots groove to the latest beats, and AI algorithms do the moonwalk. GITEX isn't your average tech conference; it's a geek chic carnival where innovation meets funky vibes. From virtual reality roller coasters to holographic DJs, GITEX proves that tech isn't just smart; it's also seriously cool.
2. Arabian Nights of Art: Art Dubai's Hipster Haven
Art Dubai is the hipster haven where Arabian Nights meet spray paint and canvas. It's not your grandma's art gallery; it's a funky fusion of traditional Arabic aesthetics and contemporary coolness. Graffiti artists rub shoulders with calligraphers, turning the art scene into a visual symphony of funky vibes. This isn't just an exhibition; it's a street-smart celebration of creativity where the art speaks louder than words.
3. Construction Carnival: The Big 5's Building Block Boogie
If you think construction exhibitions are a snoozefest, think again! The Big 5 turns construction into a carnival, a building block boogie that shakes the foundations of the ordinary. Imagine bulldozers breakdancing and cranes doing the cha-cha – that's The Big 5 for you! It's not just about bricks and mortar; it's about turning the construction site into a funky dance floor where innovation and architecture tango.
4. Design Dazzle: Dubai Design Week's Catwalk of Cool
Dubai Design Week isn't your average runway show; it's a catwalk of cool where designs sashay down the aisle, turning heads and raising eyebrows. From funky furniture that moonlights as art to avant-garde fashion that defies gravity, Dubai Design Week is where creativity gets a license to break the rules. It's not just an exhibition; it's a design dazzle that leaves you wondering, "Why isn't my living room this funky?"
Conclusion:
Dubai's exhibition scene is the funky heart of innovation, where the city's trademark glitz meets a splash of cool. It's not just about showcasing products; it's about turning the ordinary into the extraordinary, where every exhibit is a funky adventure waiting to unfold. So, next time you're in Dubai, ditch the ordinary and dive into the funky fiesta of exhibitions that redefine cool in the city of dreams!
