Now, I'll personally say that I like grisdate while also liking idarock, idatatsu, over ships such as rocmate, or saldate, or idakichi. My preference however is by no means superior to others, I am simply speaking about my thoughts on it and what I hope not to see what happens in the relationship.

I'll start with what I like about it first, what I like about it is that for once there's a character on Idate's level who has power over him versus everyone else. Rocma struggles to keep level with Idate because naturally polar bears can only do so much until they're under water, this goes with everybody else on Idate's level. I say that because I am certain immortal beings have power over Idate, no doubt. We've also already witnessed that magical beings do as well. So for measure, I'll say "Idate's level". What does this mean? It means that he won't have power over a person, he can't he controlling or abusive in a relationship that he doesn't have power in, the problem I can often see in other pairings with Idate including my own is that he can have control in that relationship and that partner wouldn't be able to defend against it for that long. Rock can hold his ground but we've already seen that Idate can still have power, the same is for Rocma and any other unfortunate people at Idate's level. With Gris it means that Idate can't use power to take control over a relationship which is something I think he doesn't like: he doesn't like that there's someone at his level who can have that power over him. So far we haven't seen Gris exercise that power and has only been openly affectionate with Idate versus flat out dragging him everywhere, which brings me to my next point:

We haven't seen Gris exercise his power over Idate so far, so far he's only been flirtatious and openly loving towards Idate which Idate has shown to be uncomfortable with, we don't exactly know why but so far it just seems that Idate isn't entirely open to reciprocating that affection. I did make a post before as well about how the two possibly have a long history together because Gris appears to have been around when Idate wore vests and ties, which we know was something he did when both he and Takama were young, so it could also be history catching up to him. Furthermore, Gris seems to show decency in asking Idate out on a date (lol, I date) so I find that cute and nice versus what we've been witnessed to with everything else. I believe that perhaps this could be an old anime trope of a childhood friend who wanted to get married when they were older and still holding onto that promise ( sort of like in DBZ with Chichi and Goku ).

What I absolutely do not want happening is getting Ivlis 2.0, by no means and no where in hell do I ever want to see a repeat of sataivlis, we already have it and all I want is Idate and Gris' relationship be separate to that!
