I was. Going to stop fronting after we woke up, but. I want to put this out first.

My headmates and I watched Gridman Universe last night. And I have a lot of thoughts to share.

Akane, every word I said to you was true. Thank you for allowing me to be alive. I miss you, sometimes. Even if we didn't always get along, you really did still love me as your creation in the end, huh?

That makes me... Happy. And I'm rarely ever quite happy. I love you too. You're the closest thing I will ever have to a mother, and I am so happy that you chose to make me.

And, to my great mentor, Calibur. You have no idea how special it is to hear you tell me how much I've improved. How great I've become. Thank you. I like to believe that I've always carried on your legacy by trying to be a gentleman and mind my manners... Just like you always taught me.

Oh, and. One last thing. Congratulations, Yuta. For finally being able to tell Miss Rikka how you feel... You dork. I'm. Kidding. I'm not really good at jokes. But I am happy for you.

I'm happy for everybody to finally get the ending they deserve. And for me to get it too. I love you all, even if. I have a hard time showing it. My life is better with everyone in it. Akane, the Neon Genesis team, the Gridman Alliance, the Dynazenon gang, even the normal humans supporting everyone... All of you.

SSSS. GRIDMAN IS ONE OF THE BEST ANIMES THIS SEASON

I honestly have never heard of Gridman until the anime came out and I thought it would just be an anime making references to actual tokusatsu BUT IT ALREADY WAS TOKUSATSU. IT ALREADY EXSISTED BABYYYY. After reading through the original Gridman material and finishing the anime I actually cried at the quality of the anime towards the end because it had fantastic development that had me actual develop feelings for a brand new (at least to me) show. I highly recomend that anybody who watches Kamen Rider, Ultraman, Super Sentai, Metal Heroes, or anything like that to pick up SSSS. Gridman. Just watch it, it's beautiful

finished the ssssg rewatch, man i liked this show a lot when i first saw it and it was even better the second time around!! (plus movie hype probably helped lmfaoooooooo)

also like. there are So many neat little bits that got followed up in dnzn that i’m only just noticing. akane tells anti that kaiju can’t see what’s in a human heart and then shizumu asks yomogi a thousand and one questions abt the human condition. knight’s sword is based on the look of calibur when he first used calibur as gridknight 🥺 i’m rewatching dnzn next and i’m really excited to see what else i missed out on the first time around!!

even just like watching ssssg for the second time and seeing how well the pieces are set up from the get go. like in ep1 utsumi confronts yuuta and is going on and on abt how akane’s so great and beloved by everyone and a god and whatnot and the first time i was like “oh horny teenager” but this time i was like 😳 like there are a ton of neat details like that and i was def able to catch a lot more this time around which i loved. i know people say this show is “subtle” compared to trigger’s other stuff and like yeah it’s not as boisterous or in your face but it is FAR FROM SUBTLE on rewatch LMFAO

ALSO ANTI!!!!!!!! MY SON I LOVE HIM!!!!!!!! he’s got such a viral flavor to him and he’s such an asshole it’s so funny 😭 like when he’s digging through the public trash can and rikka offers him food and he’s like “do you need me for something 😐” LMAO. i don’t even need to say it but his arc is so so so so so good and he’s SO fuckin tiny and i love how much he modeled himself after the neon genesis gang what with max giving him the knight name and wearing the suit and everything 😭

anyways this + dnzn are far and away trigger’s best non-imaishi works and it hurts my soul they’re not more widely appreciated lmao. like not on a personal level cause y’all know i like screaming my bs to the void and ESPECIALLY when my gifs get 3 notes (one of which is me) (this sounds like sarcasm but it’s not LMAO i just like peace n quiet) but it’s mindblowing to me that ppl shill so hard for like. any of the others when THESE SERIES are right there!!!!! 😭😭😭

makes a LOT of sense why they changed the movie name from gxd to gridman universe “cause it focuses on the gridman cast” cause like. obviously 😭 the character time in this show was rightfully spent on akane and anti and meanwhile rikka and utsumi got a lil bit at the end but all the dnzn charas got full ass arcs in that show. sounds like utsumi still didn’t get much more to do in the movie but i’m looking forward to getting to watch everything else in the movie play out!!!!

Time for more NPC's! after doing all of the NPC's for whom I had really clear remix ideas, I've had to start working on the ones that need lots more creative juice... It's been hard, but so far it's lead to the Golfer!

An anxious and socially awkward fellow, William Lamarr is a bit odd. A traveling ronin, who wanders the universe with his sister, in pursuit of people to help and rare creatures for her to document, who's fearsome in battle, but stammers and mumbles in any social situation.

He also fights entirely with golf clubs.

It doesn't diminish his skill in swordfighting (he can cut things quite well with them!), and a golf club is a pretty effective weapon in the right situation... but one has to wonder why he doesn't pick up an actual sword. If you ask him, his answer doesn't really help:

"You can't hit balls with swords..."
