I wonder if some Scarlet Hollow players assume Reese is dangerous because Gretchen has a strong negative reaction to him. Dogs in media are famous for their evil-detecting abilities, so it would make sense for a player to assume that anyone Gretchen hates must be evil!

Gretchen isn’t very sensible. Remember how she tries to run off and attack Ditchlings?

Reese isn’t a mindless killer even when in full Coolguy mode. He only attacks people he sees as threats: even if MC tries to stop him from getting revenge, he never hurts them. Would it be better if he fled the clinic instead of attacking his mother? Yes. Would it be better if he didn’t develop a toxic codependent attachment to an MC who shows him even a little kindness? Also yes. But character flaws are what makes story conflict possible, baby!
