Part of the secret santa gift for @theresoneicouldcallking
Title: Holiday Music
Summary: A series of snippets from Gremma’s first Christmas as a family after the curse breaks. Mainly fluffy, but this is me, and it is them, so there is some angst moments, especially in the first couple.
Pairing/Relationships: Gremma, Swan Believer, Hunted Believer.
Rating: T (for some abuse mentions)
Notes: Gremma are listening to this version of the 12 Days of Christmas by Reliant K, and if you don;t know it, you should probably listen to it before reading.
“He’s right, those are pretty terrible gifts to get.”
“Huh?” She lifted her head to look at him. The aftermath of their evening spent wrapping had seen them laid out on the floor together. She supposed they would eventually have to get up so they could tidy up and go to bed, no doubt tomorrow would be another busy day, but right now he didn’t seem any more inclined to move than she was.
“Even if you ignore that half the gifts involve people, and all the implications of that, it is pretty much all livestock. Potentially practical, but a bit of a niche gift for someone, and they would create a lot of work for the recipient. The only thing that sound at all like a romantic gift for your true love is the gold rings, and five is a rather suspicious number of gold rings to have.”
“Someone has had too much eggnog.” She settled her head back against his shoulder as they slipped back into silence.
After a long moment, she looked up again. “Honestly, I’m more concerned that this guy apparently doesn’t know what a pear tree is.”

I've had the Christmas music going as well (though it did earn me some mockery at work, all in good spirit though). I can't believe Christmas is so close now. But I am working on a suitably festive gift for you. So for a deceptively tricky ship related question, what's your favourite Gremma moment? - Gremma Secret Santa
that IS a tricky question, which is why it took me some time to answer it.i have three favorite moments, sorry for cheating!the “you have a heart” scene, which is just so beautiful because anyone else would’ve called graham crazy, but emma still decides to help him, and it turns into such a quiet and intimate scene. it;s beautiful.another one is a very small, simple scene at the end of 1x05, where graham, emma, archie and marcos are standing next to a firetruck, celebrating their rescue.the last one (and the number one) is the scene after emma kisses graham and jogs his memories, and he’s just suddenly full of happiness, and free of all his sorrow, and he looks like he falls in love with emma, right there and then.

Oh who am I to get this gift
The giver bounding off in retreat
The dog runs up with the heart in its mouth
And drops it bloody at my feet

Once upon a time there was a princess named Emma who lived in the Enchanted Forest. One birthday she made a wish; although she had everything and the kingdom was at peace, she felt as if something were missing. The next day she encounters a stranger while roaming the kingdom’s forests for flowers. She learns that he is the huntsman that spared both her mother and father so very long ago, and that when the Evil Queen was banished, she took him with her and kept him young to suit her purposes. Furthermore, she learns how the Evil Queen controls his heart, after having ripped it out from him as punishment for saving Snow White. She sent him there to scout, getting ready for revenge, but he cannot go far as a consequence of the Evil Queen’s banishment. This he is relieved by, for he doesn’t wish to hurt those whom are innocent although often time he has no choice. At first wary, Emma is able to see he is a good and honorable man, and finds compassion for him. Both feel almost drawn to the other without full awareness.
Emma decides to infiltrate the Evil Queen’s castle in order to get back the Huntsman’s heart. He is surprised to see her and worried for her safety when she finds him. Before she can give him his heart they are interrupted by the Evil Queen, who is quick to make a demonstration of what happens when someone tries to take her things. She snatches the Huntsman’s heart before either can react and makes sure to take her time crushing it, mocking Emma as she does so. She shows Emma the dust of the Hunstman’s heart on her hands as the princess breaks down with guilt and grief.
Caught up in sorrow and rage, Emma lunges a stray discarded sword at the wicked woman with magic she was unaware of having, stemming from being a product of true love. The sword pierces the Evil Queen as Emma watches on stunned and it’s not long before the Evil Queen falls. Emma, a bit stupefied and dazed, makes her way over to the body of the fallen Huntsman. With both the revelation of her magic and a much repeated dictum fresh in her mind, she kisses him.
The most wonderful thing happens: he wakes up.
Emma and the Huntsman, alive and free as his own man again, eventually make their way back to her kingdom while getting to know each other better on the way. The Huntsman plans on finding his brother and pack once more, preferring to live a more alfresco lifestyle. Even so, he does not mind a visit to the kingdom’s castle first, as Emma has convinced him that Snow White and Prince Charming would love to reunite with the man that sacrificed his life to save theirs. Though, admittedly, having true love with the daughter of a young couple you saved three decades ago is a little awkward.

‘’You would give up your family and freedom for a man you will never see again?’’
‘’Yes.’’
Merry Christmas, la lisboa! I was quite happy to get you because I’m a big fan of I See the Light. I thought making a gifset based on your fic would be a good gift, but now that I think about maybe it wasn’t because you don’t actually have a tumblr. Either way, I hope you like it and that you’re having the time of your life during the holidays.

Hi there! how are the holidays for you so far, enjoying them? I hope you are! So lay it on me; what's your favorite Gremma quote? (said by them, or perhaps heard/read somewhere else that you thought fit them well?) ~ Gremma Secret Santa
Hello! The holidays are going well for me. Decorations are up and my shopping is finished. I can’t believe Christmas is already almost here. It snuck up on me lol. I hope the holidays are going well for you! That is a great question. I’m not sure I can give just one answer lol. There’s “you have a heart, I can prove it” of course, which always goes straight to MY heart lol. I also have a soft spot for their “what?” parallel moments. It really is a shame they didn’t get more time as a couple because you KNOW that would have been the best running joke between them.
I also ADORE their flirty scene in the station when Emma says “I’m getting you to do what I want right now.” ;)
I also have bittersweet feels over Adam Horowitz’ quote about them: “All great relationships start off with hope, and the hope that it can overcome all obstacles. What greater obstacle is there than death?” Thanks for getting my hopes up and then crushing them, Adam *shakes fist* lol.

Next part of the secret santa gift for @theresoneicouldcallking
Title: Holiday Party
Summary: A series of snippets from Gremma’s first Christmas as a family after the curse breaks. Mainly fluffy, but this is me, and it is them, so there is some angst moments, especially in the first couple.
Pairing/Relationships: Gremma, Swan Believer, Hunted Believer.

Granny’s was heaving. She could’ve sworn that at least half the town had somehow managed to cram themselves into the small diner. The punch was flowing freely and everyone did seem to be having a good time. She had to admit, she wasn’t exactly having as bad a time as she had thought she might, though she would still rather be at home, or at least at a smaller gathering.
She and Graham had kept close, the crowded party giving them an excuse to stay touching most of the time. She knew he still found large crowds like this overwhelming. His false memories may have made it easier for him to make small talk in this kind of situation, but it was still hard for him. He had admitted one night that he found the hypocrisy of it hard to swallow. People who would have at best pretended not to see him, and more often would have reacted with hostility, were now eager to acknowledge him. Because of her, and his connection to her family. The insincerity of the sudden acceptance put him on edge, and made it hard for him to trust what was said.
They had managed to find themselves’ a moment of peace in a quiet corner. Her back to his front as she lent her head back against his shoulder. She had subtly pulled them to one side when she had realised how quiet Graham had gotten. She twisted her head up to look at him. “We can go soon.”
“No need to rush on my account.” His breath was warm against her ear, and his accent thickened by the alcohol, and neither fact was encouraging her to stay any longer.
“It’s not just because of you. I’d like to go now, but Henry’s still having fun.” Unlike them, Henry loved big get togethers, loved all the attention and getting to ask questions and hear stories. “I figure we can give him a bit longer.”
He hummed in agreement and she settled back against him. She had no doubt someone would want their attention soon enough, but for the moment she was happy to enjoy their small moment of peace as they watched the townsfolk enjoy the festivities.

Good luck with your knitting! Now, a Gremma question, what do you like best about them as a couple? - Gremma Secret Santa
I think I might need it, I just made two mistakes in the same row (luckily it is usually easy to fix a knitting mistake).
For me, Gremma fit into one of my favourite ship dynamics. Which is the woman leader, who is under so much pressure, has so much responsibility, and kicks ass, is ultra-competent. And then the man who is absolutely able to keep up with her, and fight by her side as an equal partner, but is also strong enough to take on the supporting role in her life. Who has her back, give her unequivocal support (even if he isn’t sure she is right). And is the one person she can let her guard down around, who’ll she let see her when she is weak.
I love that they are both screwed up, they both have too much pain in their past, and are both hesitant when it comes to a relationship, but they just fit together. They both had to deal with abandonment, so Graham understands why it isn’t just as easy as her having her parents back and everything should be OK now. And he knows what it is like to be an outsider, so is a perfect bridge for her and the new world she is in now.
Graham is exactly what Emma needs in her life, and Emma can help Graham heal.

Merry Christmas @theresoneicouldcallking. This is the first installment of your Secret Santa gift. I did something a little different this year, instead of one fic, it is a series of connected snippets from Gremma’s first Christmas after the curse breaks. The plan was to post them on a nice schedule between Christmas and New Year, but the last two weeks were crazier than anticipated, so they are all going to be posted today as I finish them off (and after I have done family things and had some sleep).
I hope you enjoy.

“It looks like an elf threw up in here.” She had stepped through the door to find her boys sat in the middle of what looked like enough Christmas decorations for ten places their size. “Did you leave anything at the store for the rest of town?”
Graham, at least, had the grace to look a little sheepish but when Henry just bounced up and over to her he gestured helplessly at the boy.
“Mom! We went shopping and we got all this cool stuff.” He was virtually vibrating with excitement. So much so she was a little concerned about how much sugar he’d had consumed. “This is going to be so much fun, I’ve never gotten to decorate for Christmas before.”
“I can see that…what do you mean you’ve never decorated before?” How could he not have? She knew they’d had Christmas during the curse, if not a particularly happy one for most. His smile dimmed a little and she regretted the unthinking question.
“She always paid someone to do all the decorating for the holidays. I’d just come home one day and it would be done.” He turned and dashed back to the table, grabbing a rather battered lunchbox, which he carefully held horizontally as he brought it back to her. “And I have these.”
He handed the box to her without meeting her eyes and she suddenly had a felling she knew what she was going to find when she opened the box. She was right. Nestled in random bits of scrunched up paper were six tree ornaments, each a little better crafted than the last. She lifted the first out to see Henry’s name and the year written in all of a five-year old’s most painstakingly precise print, and smiled as she saw that he had written the two backwards.
“They’re beautiful.” She was blinking rapidly, the moment getting too heavy, too weighed down with everything they’d missed, and she looked around for a way to lighten things up again, landing on the one thing that was noticeably missing from their haul. “We do seem to be missing a tree to hang them on though.”
“Duh.” He looked at her like she was stupid, but she could see how her positive reaction had bolstered his confidence. “We have to go get the tree together. We’ve just been waiting for you to get home.”
Well, there was only one possible response to that.
“Ok then, let’s go tree shopping.”

Aw, well I hope this week is much better for you! Just chill out and enjoy the Gremma appreciation lol. My week has been ok. I finished my Christmas shopping and got the last of our decorations up. -Gremma Secret Santa
So far, so good. Though my knitting is going nearly as fast as I would like, and I have five days to finish it (four if I want to wash an block it, which I really should).
But other than that my shopping is done, most of my wrapping is as well. I’m working nights on the 23rd and 24th, so I have to make sure I have everything ready by Friday really.
It has been nice to have a fairly chilled week though.

Hey! This is your Gremma Secret Santa! I just wanted to pop in and say hello. I hope you're having a good day! 😄
Hello!
Well, Wednesday wasn’t so good, first of three very busy nights at work (they keep on saying this is low season, I’m not sure I believe them). I then decided to follow my third night shift with shopping, in town, on a Saturday. I thought I was going to be OK because I was going early, but it didn’t work out that way. (And by the time I was done it wasn’t early anymore).
On the other hand, I did manage to finally get gifts for my two most tricky recipients, and am pretty much done shopping now, and can enjoy my week off.
How has your week been?
