Green chillies benefits

They are typically harvested when they are still green and have a slightly bitter taste, with a level of spiciness that can range from mild to very hot. Green chillies are a popular ingredient in many cuisines around the world, particularly in South Asian and Mexican cooking. They can be used…

Darkest Desire
Based off of this nonnie request! It’s a bit scarier than intended and I do apologise for that teehee. There’s also no smut…
Blurb: With a group of friends you visit the local Halloween Scare walk, an event that is hosted annually out in the creepy plaines of Hawkins and whilst it’s masks on for the locals, it’s very much masks off for the scare actors…
Pairing: Scare Actor!Eddie x Reader
Warnings: 18+, the holiday of Halloween is mentioned, talk of blood/gore, faux blades/knives, cursing, reader is referred to as girl, use of pet names, degrading, praising, stalking (cat&mouse), sly/cocky and slightly mean!Eddie. Characters are all 20+

Crunchy dry blood orange leaves litter the earth and frost tainted wind nips at your nose and cheeks. The squeals of excited children racing by your costume clad frame fills your ears with immense joy and you giggle airily as they launch themselves into one another. Racing toward the brightly lit luminescent funfair games in hopes of winning a stuffed animal or a goldfish in a bag.
Their parents lug behind them, their attire consisting of some makeshift costume they had thrown together at the last minute in hopes of pleasing their tiny humans and earning themselves a quiet car ride without any tantrums or fuss.
Your group, on the other hand, weren’t here for the childish and conning games. You were all here for the Scare Walk.
You hadn’t agreed on a coherent group costume so it was a pick and mix of totally different genres and ideas and from an outside perspective it was abundantly clear that there was no communication on the matter whatsoever.
Steve was dressed as the main character from Nightmare On Elm Street, Freddy Kruger. Nancy clearly had helped with the makeup aspect of the costume assemble but everything else screamed Harrington. He cropped the stripped knitted jumper to better suit his athletic frame and his hair was still very much classic Steve.
Robin had taken a whole new approach, dressing up as the colourful Rubik’s Cube puzzle toy. Deriving inspiration from the colourful squares she wore a long black jumpsuit covered in humongous reflective and vibrant square sequins. She more resembled a neon glitter ball, but you gave her the benefit of the doubt.
Nancy’s body was hugged by a khaki green boiler suit that had the long legs cut off and on her back she wore a black backpack with some DIY altercations made to it. She has begged Mike to help her create her costume, and that’s how she ended up dressed as a Ghostbuster, putting a strong feminine spin on the male dominated film. You hadn’t expected anything less from Nance, she was always looking for ways to empower women and her costume made you smile. Proud.
Jonathan had chosen a much whackier costume to better fit with his personality. The pungent smell of weed radiating from his body only complimented the fluorescent green costume he was wearing and the radioactive orange bandana blindfolded over his eyes. He had opted for the beloved character from the children’s series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’, Michelangelo. Which shouldn’t have surprised you— but it did.
And finally, you had chosen something distinctively different from your friends. You had made the bold choice to go as a flapper girl from the 1920’s, inspired by Fitzgeralds novel The Great Gatsby. It was a bold move because you paired the costume with kitten heels and although they were small you knew by the end of the night your feet would be crying out for rest. It is a Scare Walk after all. Your body was adorned by glitter and lace and the fringe of your dress tickled at the exposed skin of your legs.
It was a bit chilly tonight, but you were having too much of a ball to really hone in and pay attention to the sharp gusts of wind. Steve and Robin were arguing over whose costume was more original and whilst Robin’s was, Steve always somehow managed to argue himself into being ‘right’.
“Talk to me when you have hand sewn a bazillion sequins onto something and not just took a pair of shears to a ratty old sweater.” Robin remarks with a smirk, crossing her arms over her chest and marching ahead of Steve.
“Hey! I’ll have you know that it was surprisingly difficult to cut this thing into a straight line— and it isn’t ratty or old, I literally bought it like two days ago.” Steve fires back with a squinted gaze as he follows closely behind Robin’s reflective beacon of light that seems to lead us through the dimness. Nancy grumbles inwardly to herself.
“Can you two stop bickering like babies? We’re here to have fun! So let’s go and do that!” She hooks her arm with yours, charging forward, “I heard that some people from campus are working here this year. I don’t know what they’re doing but isn’t that exciting? We might bump into them!” You admired how Nancy could make a good situation out of everything, however you didn’t quite share her enthusiasm for meeting people you already knew. Nancy was all about making and strengthening connections whereas you wanted to just have fun— judgement free.
And now that you knew that your peers were watching your every move you couldn’t help but feel your confidence shrink slightly and your words clam up. Dying in your throat before they could ever be heard aloud.
-
The walk started off relatively slow and rather boring. You kept mistaking your dress tickling your calf’s as insects running up the skin of your legs and Robin would giggle at the way your head was constantly shooting downward.
“You seem awfully jittery— is someone scared already?” She taunts, wiggling her eyebrows at you and grinning widely as she did.
You scoff in response, “Please. I’m nearly dozing off back here.”
An eerie dark silence falls over the group and the golden haze from the spooky funfair starts to fade into the background behind you as you venture further and deeper into the doom and gloom of night fall.
The smell of sweet popcorn no longer lingers in the hairs of your nostrils and a sinister chill runs down the back of your spine; like fingers tickling your bare skin.
“Are we sure we are sticking to the trail? It’s getting pretty dark out here— OH MY FUCKING GOD!!” Two little girls dressed in bloody dresses and horrifying makeup charge toward you from a nearby hidden brush. Their eyes glow a disturbing shade of white and they hold faux knives that still look devilishly real. You stumble backwards, nearly collapsing from shock however before you could fall to the ground you feel a hard body hit your back which makes you scream out in terror.
The figure laughs at you, jeering and sharp as you whip around to meet him and your hand is quick to find your chest. Your fingers claw at the fabric of your dress and you fist the fabric with a shaky grip. You’re panting, struggling for breath and the skull painted face looms over you for a moment too long; cocking his head to the side as he examines your costume.
That’s when you realise something. Something that you immediately recognised as a dark secret. A dark desire that should be kept hidden.
As his onyx orbs gleam and glare down at you, you feel a wave of heat feather your cold skin. Your core pulses between your thighs and your mouth hangs open in dreadful clarity; you were fucking turned on by this.
His chiselled face is painted to resemble a bare skull. White with inky dark circles that deepen his eye sockets and his cheekbones are defined with thick blended shadowy lines. His lips are painted black to match his contours and he has hand drawn on a stretched toothy smile and an empty nose cavity.
He doesn’t speak a single word.
He just stares at you. Almost as if he is furious with you.
And before long he drags himself away from you, like the simple task is deemed painful and impossible for him.
His torso is dressed in a fitted white button down shirt which is rolled up to his elbows and it exposes his tattooed forearms. On his legs he wears a simple but professional pair of black trousers paired with black suspenders that sling over his shoulders. On his feet he has combat boots supporting his ankles and some sort of padded device strapped around the joint of his knees.
You gawk at him as he skates across the concrete on his knees at an alarmingly fast rate toward another group of poor people; leaving sparks of light in his dust as they squirm and scream. Some of them even go as far to sprint off into the darkness away from him; which leaves the masked man cackling darkly and running after them.
“Holy shit! I had no idea he would be working here this year!” Steve slaps the palm of his hand onto your shoulder as he chuckles heavily and you pull away from him confused and slightly annoyed.
“Who is ‘he’ and how do you know him?” Steve’s laughter dies out slowly and his hands come to rest on his hips. A stance that he did often. The rest of the gang come to join you with curious expressions on their faces.
“Seriously? You don’t recognise him?” There’s a pause as you shake your head ‘no’ and Steve rolls his amber eyes dramatically, “That’s Eddie Munson, dipshit. He’s always smoking weed out in the courtyard on campus? Playing with the fire from the benson burner during chemistry— is this ringing any bells?” You shrug, crossing your arms defensively over your chest.
Is Eddie Munson someone you should know about?
“He has long, curly hair— not better than mine but hey, it’s definitely up there.” Steve’s hand smooths over his slicked back hair that is thick with gel and you laugh, now being able to form an image of Eddie in your mind.
“Ohh, the metal head? He sometimes walks around with his guitar slung over his back?” You reply as you begin to walk off after realising that you have all come to a stand still— and partially because you want to see Eddie again.
“Yeah! He is wicked with a guitar! I’ve seen him play.” Robin chirps from your left and Nancy hums on your right.
“He is pretty good.” Jonathan speaks through a mouthful of candy and you try to disguise your disgust as you unfortunately get a glimpse of the food on his tongue.
“Right…” is all you quietly reply as your eyes scan the bluish darkness. You can hear an owl hooting off in the distance and if it weren’t for the jump scares waiting for you, you would find this promenade quite peaceful.
Crickets whisper conversations from the tall blades of grass and you can see lanterns dotted up ahead of you. They cast ghoulish shadows all around the dirt path and your head twitches from side to side— trying to catch any of the silhouettes moving.
But they don’t.
You have strayed further ahead of the group, their voices hitting your ears in the form of muffled sounds but you don’t bother to wait on them. They are too busy laughing and booing at some of the scare actors whereas your heart is still palpitating at a ridiculous rate from the last scare.
Some of the actors were so gruesomely scary that you felt transported into your favourite slasher films whereas the others were just looming and ominous— more human. Humans are the scariest creatures after all. You fear your own kind in opposition to the unknown.
That’s why when the familiar skull skates over to you on his knees, you freeze this time. No fight or flight; just freeze. Your mouth gaping wide as his nose nearly brushes yours.
“Eddie.” His name is a breathless squeeze from your lungs as it leaves your mouth. You have to say his name aloud in order to ground your thundering heart. Were you excited or frightened? Maybe it was a mixture of both.
Whatever it was, the man stood in front of you wasn’t best pleased. His eyes narrow into irritated slits and his fingers toy with a piece of your hair— twirling it before yanking on it playfully.
Steve, Nancy, Robin and Jonathan all sprint past you in urgency. They screaming until their throats run raw as a deranged man with a faux chainsaw chases after them. Hot on their heels.
You and Eddie go unnoticed by them… and now…
Now you feel afraid.
“Y’know you aren’t supposed to address the actors personally, right?” He sneers through a tight jaw.
“He speaks.” You quip back sassily and Eddie huffs a distorted laugh.
“I’ve seen you around campus— even prettier up close. It’s a shame your attitude ruins that.” He circles you like a shark in water and you follow him. Twirling around makes you dizzy but Eddie’s chuckle makes your dizzier.
“Like a little lost lamb.” He coos, “Where are your cronies? Seems they’ve ditched.” His glove clad knuckle grazes your cheek and you flinch away from his soft touch. Taking a few steps back you widen the close distance between the two of you.
This causes Eddie to grin hugely; showing all of his teeth as he did.
“What? Don’t tell me you’re scared now?” He prowls toward you however you are quick to match every one of his steps. He takes a stride forward? You take a step back.
“You could run away if you wanted… but that’ll only entice me more. Didn’t they tell you? I love the chase.” His voice is a low animalistic growl and you couldn’t understand if this was Eddie or his character talking to you. Was this all an act or was he genuinely this menacing?
“I thought you actors weren’t supposed to get this close to the public…” You hunch your shoulders upward toward your ears as you cower away from his stalky frame and he stares through you; the gears in his head turning.
You shift on the balls of your feet uncomfortably and your skin blazes beneath his intense gaze.
“You’re blushing.” He says matter of factly and suddenly you feel the need to straighten your posture and try to get as far from him as possible.
“I am not.” The lie is pathetic as it meets the frosted air and Eddie smiles eerily.
“It’s the makeup, isn’t it? You like the makeup.” His head strains back on his neck as he lets out a loud laugh, “Fuck— that’s pathetic. You must be into some really weird shit.”
“I- that’s absurd!! I have no idea what you’re talking about!” You squeal and slink your arms around your torso. Partially because you were cold but also to be protective and assertive of yourself, “You don’t even know me—“ Eddie interjects, his finger tapping impatiently against his painted lips.
“Shhhh.” You feel the soft grain of his leather gloves as they tickle your skin and Eddie’s hands fully embrace your bare shoulders, “It’s okay— I like your costume too, I suppose.” He shrugs his shoulders nonchalantly, “I mean, it’s a bit outdated and boring but hey, you look good.” He flashes you a teasing wink that is nearly enough to make your lungs implode with lack of oxygen.
“Goodbye, Munson.” You swivel on your kitten heels and briskly find the frozen dirt path again. Your head involuntarily looks over your shoulder, trying to catch sight of Eddie one last time as you leave him behind but to your total disadvantage the metal head was no longer standing where you had left him.
He too, had taken off.
And unbeknownst to you, you had just pressed play on one of Eddie Munson’s all time favourite games; Cat and mouse.
-
It was getting later and later with every passing second and you couldn’t find your friends anywhere. You had last seen them run off whilst laughing and screaming in total horror but you hadn’t seen them since.
Had they actually ditched you and went home?
Once the thought infiltrated your psyche you contemplated on cutting the scare walk short and heading back to the funfair to search for them. However, going back meant that you had to go alone and there was something devilish about that.
To your left, through a thick canvas of sweetgum trees you can hear the owl again. Hooting softly— a sound that should calm your nerves but instead it tugs on them viciously. It’s more like an emergency siren warning you. A sign for you to run and to never look back.
A man made whistle slices through the chirping of the birds and it cuts at your skin like the edge of a blade. You look left and right, frantically dancing in circles as you try to determine where it’s coming from; but you are met with nothingness.
“Eddie, if that’s you then cut it out! This isn’t funny!” Your fingernails pinch at your skin as you begin to walk panicked in the opposite direction. Never paying attention to what’s in front of you, your gaze always trailing off to the side and behind you.
That’s when you see him— the skull peering at you from a dark line of trees in the distance. Your feet come to a staggering stop as you eye him. Was your mind playing tricks on you? Was Eddie really staring back at you or were you deluding yourself?
You swallow thickly, your mouth dry as you watch him emerge from the greenery. Before your brain can compute what your body is doing you are running; charging into the fullness of the forest.
Tree branches whip and rip at your skin, causing it to redden and sting. You wince but you continue soldiering on, your shoulders barge through sticks and nettles and thorns.
Your mind had convinced you that this was real. That you were being chased by a psycho.
“Hey— hey, stop!! It’s okay! Wait—“ Eddie is close behind you, crunching twigs beneath his boots but you are quicker than he is; more frightened and resilient to get as far from him as possible. For your own safety.
“Sweetheart! Stop!” You can hear him getting frustrated as he trudges through the cluttered landscape but you can see lights shining in front of you, just up ahead, and it causes you to force your legs to quicken. Desperate to reach there.
But just before you explode onto the funfair grounds your legs give way beneath you and you crash to the ground. The palms of your hands scrape against the jagged forest floor and your dress rips against a spiked log. You thought this shit only happened in the movies— but tonight you were proven wrong.
You look behind you and your eyes well up with tears of both pure adrenaline and fear at Eddie propelling himself toward you.
You bring up your hands around your head to protect yourself as you shrink back onto the floor, over the fact that your hair is full of pine needles and your knees are scraped and bleeding.
Eddie crouches by your side, a deep frown on his face and worry in his eyes.
“Hey, sweet girl, you’re okay…” Eddie bites off his leather gloves and throws them to the soft earth. He is gentle to pry your cold hands away from your muddied face and he hisses quietly at the temperature of your skin compared to his. He examines the palms of your hands tenderly, “Ouch… this must hurt. What were you thinking?”
Your foolishness almost causes Eddie to laugh, but after witnessing the genuine anxiety plaguing your features he decides not to.
“It was too real.” You blubber, letting out a dampened sob and Eddie’s heart pangs with guilt and sorrow, “I couldn’t find anyone and… and I saw you and I just couldn’t think of anything else…”
“I’m sorry, love. C’mere, let me help you up.” Eddie is crouched down, his knees bent as he braces himself in front of your shaking frame. He outstretches his hands toward you and you take them hesitantly.
Thanks to Eddie’s strength he pulls your weak body up to meet his with ease and he hold you against his chest. Breathing softly as he tries to calm your laboured and nervous breaths.
“I really am sorry… it’s just me, ‘Kay? I’m not gonna hurt you. I promise.” He peppers comforting pecks into your hair and your nails claw at the back of his shirt, “It must’ve been pretty scary; being out there all alone with me.”
You nod, your mind finally calming at the sound of his lulling and gentle voice.
“I do like the makeup.” Your confession is meek and muffled against his chest, “I think there must be something wrong with me.” You laugh, managing to pull away his chest and look at him much more confidently now.
“Not at all,” Eddie grins, “I think it’s quite the opposite, actually. Very normal— it might even be considered vanilla to some people out there.” Although you have removed yourself from the skull painted man’s chest, the closeness between the both of you remains the same.
The truth was; Eddie had always admired you. Your intelligence and your cunning. You were beautiful, which was the cherry on top of your infectiously bright personality. He had noticed you at the beginning of the academic year and he was too chicken to talk to you. You both were connected through Steve but Steve never really paid attention to Eddie’s longing and begging looks toward you.
But Steve didn’t have to say anything. Not anymore. Because you could see it for yourself. You could see beneath the intricate paint on his face that Eddie felt something for you. You weren’t sure what it was; lust, a crush or plain friendship but you could see it. Feel it.
“You must think I’m a total freak.”
“You have no idea who you’re talking to, sweetheart. I am the biggest freak to have ever lived.” Eddie lets out a giddy chuckle and his hands continue to rest lightly around your body. You welcome his lingering touch and his nearness. It felt familiar. Nice.
“We both look like weirdos standing out here in the dark.” Your eyes scan around the auburn horizon of tall trees and a soft smile rests on your smudged lipstick covered lips, “People are going to think we’ve been up to no good.”
Eddie smiles, his hand coming to stroke your cheek gently and tuck some of your rouge hair behind your ear, “With how windswept your hair is, I wouldn’t be surprised.”
You both stand there, the air is clouded with electrifying tension and you can’t think of anything else other than how badly you want him to kiss you.
“I wanna take you out… on a date.” His hands cup your face, “When I’m not this caricature. I’ll just be me and you will be you. You won’t have to run from me…” His cold nose brushes the tip of yours, “I won’t have to chase you.” You can smell mint and nicotine on his breath and you have never been more intoxicated by anything in your entire life.
“What’d ya say, sweet girl? Let me take you somewhere nice so I can kiss you properly at the end of the night?” There is a slight desperation to his voice and you bite your lip to suppress a wide smile.
“I’d like you to chase me, Eddie. Chase me with daisies and a boombox and your guitar. You won’t have to run after me for long…” You are dangerously close to him now, your breath quickening as you press a chaste kiss to the corner of his mouth. It takes every ounce of self control not to eat his entire mouth with yours, “Take me anywhere. As long as it’s with you.”
“I will.” He promises.
“And kiss me at the end of the night?” You are desperate yourself now, your eyes sparkling with moonlight as you look up into his shadowy hues.
“I will.” He strokes your hair so delicately; like you are the most precious thing he has ever handled, “I promise.”

warm; draco malfoy
summary: fwb draco just wants to be close to you.
warnings: non established relationship
It was around 11pm on a chilly night as you layed on the emerald green sofa in the slytherin common room, watching the fireplace crackle and pop. After an exhausting, overwhelming day of back-to-back lessons whilst stressing about your O.W.L exams, you thought you'd give yourself a break, an escape from everything and everyone - to have some time for yourself.
You snuggled into the couch, tugging your warm blanket up, as you relished in the quiet, calming atmosphere. The soft fireplace exerted an aura of warmth and comfort, its gentle glow casting a mesmerizing hue across the dimly lit room, as you listened to the crackling of burning logs, adding to the ambience. This is just what you needed to wind down.
The soothing lull of the fireplace was soon interrupted by the sound of the common room door opening.
"y/n? love? are you in here?" a familiar voice called out softly
did he just call you "love"?
"im here draco" you replied, unable to hide the small smile that formed on your face. Why was he looking for you this late?
"what are you doing in here this late? i was looking for you everywhere, i checked your dorm but pansy said you never came back in." he replied while making his way toward the couch you were laying on.
"I just needed time away from everyone; especially pansy, merlin i cant deal with her meaningless chatter after a long day- wait a minute, why were you looking for me?"
"you cant laugh when i tell you" he said whilst hovering over the sofa you layed on, looking down at you.
"why would i laugh you idiot" you replied looking up at him
he stayed silent for a bit
"i missed you" he murmered
"hm? sorry? i didnt hear you" you heard what he said, you just wanted to hear him say it again.
"i said i missed you" he repeated, a little louder this time
"ive barely seen you the entire week" he added
you couldnt help the smile that formed on your face, you had the king of slytherin, the most intimidating student in the grade admit that he had missed you.
"you really are a big softie on the inside aren't you draco?" you chuckled lightly
"nevermind then i didnt miss you ill just leave-" he turned to leave
"noo im joking come back baby" you cut him off quickly, grabbing. his wrist and pulling him back towards you.
"i missed you too draco" you added whilst opening up your blanket, making space for him to climb in.
he climbed in slowly, trying not to put too much pressure on you as he layed his head on your chest and wrapped his arms around your stomach. after pulling the blanket back over the two of you, your hands tangled in his golden locks, lightly scratching his scalp, the two of you in comfortable silence, relishing in each others company.
of course, having some alone time was great, but having the boy that you care for so much snuggled up into you like a baby was better.
draco tilted his head up slightly to look at you "wait a minute y/n- did you just call me baby like a minute ago-"
oh
"i- i er- i dont know it just slipped off my tongue i guess-" you felt the heat rising to your cheeks.
"i liked it" he cut you off with his signature smirk plastered across his face.
you stayed silent, unsure of how to respond in your flustered state.
he moved his arm to your face brushing away a few stray hairs before softly tracing your jawline.
"you're so pretty y/n, the most gorgeous girl." he said before placing a soft kiss to your forehead, then your lips.
this was one of the most intimate moments between you and draco. at first, you had a "friends with benefits" relationship, though overtime you both seemed to have gotten quiet attached to each other. you couldnt act on it though because dracos father would disapprove, so you decided to not put any further thought into it, just letting things flow as they are friends with benefits style, although you both knew it was deeper than that.
let me know if u want a part 2!!

Creepypasta - Eyeless Jack When You Get Hurt
Midnight had long since come and passed. Most people were sleeping soundly in their soft beds, blankets pulled up to their chins in defense from the nipping cold. But not you, not tonight.
You were out with Jack. Late nights that turned into early mornings were the only times he’d agree to come into town with you, since the streets were mostly empty.
On this particular night you had gone out for a walk in the park, trying to catch the last glimpses of green before the dull gray of winter leeched all color from the trees and shrubs. It was cold, but you clung close together, keeping each other warm. Well, it was mostly Jack keeping you warm; he didn’t seem to get cold. Ever. One of the benefits of being a demon, you supposed.
Now you were on the subway, heading home at last. You leaned sleepily against Jack, your eyelids drooping as you fought to stay conscious.
You decided to stand up to keep yourself awake. Reaching up for the overhead bar, you wrapped your fingers around the chilly metal, focusing on the sensation of the cold to distract yourself from sleep.
The train stopped. Jack pulled at his hood when a man got on. You weren’t alone anymore. You shot him a reassuring glance, smiling a little.
You were startled by the train’s sudden motion. You stumbled sideways, slamming into the man who had just boarded on your way to the ground.
“Hey!” He snapped.
You didn’t even get the chance to apologize before he kicked you, knocking you off your knees.
“Watch it, brat!” He spat. He stormed to the far end of the car, muttering angrily to himself all the way.
Jack was at your side in a second. He lifted you in his arms and onto a seat.
His thumb brushed away the tears trickling down your face. They were from the pain of being kicked as much as the humiliation of the insult. You looked down, holding his wrist to comfort yourself.
“Are you okay?”
You nodded, but the tears kept falling.
Jack wrapped you in a hug. He stroked your back gently, letting your tears be sopped up by the fabric of his hoodie. “I’m so sorry, baby.”
You shook your head. “Not your fault,” you rasped, voice breaking.
Your stop was coming up. The train screeched to a halt, and Jack fixed you on his back. You noticed the man following you as you stepped out, but he went in the other direction. You just buried your face in Jack’s hoodie.
Jack lowered you onto your bed, tucking your blankets up to your chin. He placed a kiss on your forehead, smiling when you stirred a little. You’d fallen asleep sometime between the train station and your home. No matter. Maybe this was better, actually. It gave him the chance to slip away into the night.
He glanced once more at your sleeping form before dropping from the windowsill, anger swelling in his chest as he ran.
“Please,” the man begged. He was doubled over on the floor, speaking between panicked sobs and wretches. “Please don’t kill me.”
Jack stared emotionlessly at the pathetic human at his feet. He turned the scalpel in his hand idly.
“It doesn’t feel very good to be kicked, does it?”
The man clearly didn’t get the hint. “No, no, no, it doesn’t, it doesn’t,” he wailed.
Jack crouched down. He grabbed the man’s face, turning it up roughly. “Do you know why I’m doing this? Think.”
He tried to shake his head. Jack held tighter, his claws drawing beads of blood from the man’s cheeks.
Jack sighed impatiently. “This is why I don’t work with conscious victims,” he grumbled to himself.
Then, more clearly, he said:
“Revenge, you toad, comes with interest.”
The screams that usually would’ve made Jack flinch only made him grin as he extracted his next meal.
When the screams had ceased, and there was nothing but a bleeding body on the ground, Jack stood, poking the lame form with his toe.
“That’s for messing with Y/n. Brat.”
Thank you for this request! And thanks for reading, take care loves <33

🍌🥬🍅The ghouls with vegetables and fruits - HC 🍅🥬🍌
Copia took his ghouls to a farmers market in hopes of getting them to eat more vegetables, because a lot of his ghouls are refusing to eat anything green, or basically any vegetables at all
Mountain
Helped Copia manage everyone
Tasted every single fruit and vegetable
Got sad when he wasn’t allowed to buy from everyone
Forced Dew to hold his hand because he tried to run away
Dew
Tried to run away from all the “bunny food”
Tried the most disgusting thing ever (it was a cucumber)
Got put in time out
Tricked Rain into eating a very spicy chili
Got put in the car
Rain
Kissed Dew with a cucumber slice on his tongue
Ate a chilli he thought was a pepper
Went looking for Phantom
Went looking for Aurora
Got put in the car

Assured Copia that this was a good idea because some of his ghouls “could benefit from getting introduced to healthy foods”
Cheered on Swiss during his competition
Tried everything except for some really smelly fruit
Was shocked at how easily Mountain ate it
Put a certain three ghouls in the car to sober up
Swiss
Bought loads of chilies to hide in food and “forgot” to pay
Carried Phantom on his back because he was scared of the crowds
Won the apple bobbing contest
Got put in the car
Phantom
Tried corn, grapes and celery
Didn’t try anything else because the celery was an assault to his tastebuds
Made Copia buy grapes and corn
Ran away to taste the grapes again because he needed to double check if he really liked them
Stole some grapes
Aurora
Learned that cauliflower was the most horrible thing to ever exist
Helped Swiss “buy” chillies
Laughed at Dew when Rain kissed him with a cucumber
Laughed at Rain when he ate a chili
Ran away to steal some wine
Cirrus
Dragged Dew in by his neck
Tasted wine with Cumulus, Dew and Rain at a grape stand
Bought wine
Entered Swiss to an apple bobbing contest
Came home sober
Cumulus
Forced Dew to taste vegetables and fruits
Held Phantom’s hand and encouraged him to try at least two things
Helped Mountain carry vegetables and fruits
Tried wine and came home sober
Copia
Drove there
Promised his ghouls ice cream if everyone tried at leas two things
Told himself that his ghouls needed this
Bought crazy amounts of grapes and corn
Bought a lot of veggies for Mountain
Put Aurora in time out for stealing
Put Dew in time out for trying to light a cucumber on fire
Held Phantom’s hand and walked around to see what veggies and fruits there were to try
Tried to put a drunk Swiss and an even more drunk Rain in time out for being drunk
Regretted decisions

Warnings: BIGGGGG Rdr2 spoilers, mentions of racism, after the gang gets split up, big time jump, no beta reader, i tried to be historically accurate!!!, descriptions of a panic attack
Summary: It's been a few years since the gang split up. You don't know anyones whereabouts, nor do you know if they're alive or not. But in your new, mundane life, you find a lead to your past. (PS: the most of the story is snippets of the gang splitting.)
AN: sorry this took so long.......... stuff is happening in my life and i found this in my drafts while looking for a distraction. i also didnt know if this was good or not, and idk if u guys would like the big change in the story but i hope u guys like this!!!
word count: 1.9k
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3?
------
Beaver Hollow sucks. Everything sucks. Honestly, maybe this entire gang sucks.
Dutch sent you two out, acting as messengers for Eagle flies and his father. Neither of you agreed that what Dutch was doing would benefit their tribe, but Eagle Flies was determined. His courage, although strong, blinded him.
After you and Arthur had gone on that fishing trip not long ago, you’ve found yourself hanging around him more often; not that he minded. Naturally, you two started talking. You opened up about your past before the gang, and he told stories of his youth that hadn’t already been shared around the campfire.
However, this came with some downsides.
You and Arthur had an argument the other day. Well, you tried to have an argument, and Arthur listened.
You and Arthur went hunting this time. The sun was setting, and crickets emerged along with god-awful amounts of mosquitoes. After countless tries at Arthur’s bow and arrow you grew more and more frustrated. Turns out, it’s not as easy as pull and release. Because of the added factors of your now seemingly constant anger and the frustration of each failed attempt, you blew up at Arthur.
This included the usual, “people are worried; Dutch is insane; do something,” pleas coming from you, and Arthur’s “i know, kid; kid, I know; we’re trying our best; keep it down the camp’s gonna hear,” replies.
You went to bed that night fuming. ’We’re doing our best’? Come on! After all that’s happened, the best is far from the current situation of the gang. He’s just lying through his teeth, and for what?
You can take the truth.
The path below you two crunched as gravel dug deeper into the earth, your horses occasionally huffing as they walked along the trail. Tall, top-heavy trees were scattered amongst pine, birds chirping and singing on sturdy branches. Wildflowers that sprouted in vibrant shades of orange and purple were scattered along the sides of the path, mingling with short grass that wasn’t entirely green, yellowing as the year grew old.
Critters, mainly squirrels or chipmunks, ran across the beaten path. It gave both of you quite the scare as you rode along, not wishing to kill the poor creatures for no inherent reason. The air was chilly, but not cold. It wasn’t warm, but it was stuffy. From the ridge, you could see more trees separated by a shimmering lake in the distance, which was surrounded by… more trees.
“It’s been a weird few days,” Arthur spoke up, his voice gravelly, rough. He sounded hesitant and almost awkward, like he was trying to talk, but couldn’t find a good starter.
You cleared your throat, “Yeah. Do you… is Dutch… Does this sorta thing happen often?” you asked vaguely, glancing at Arthur in your peripheral vision.
“What do you mean?
“...This. Y’know the runnin’ east, and… people dyin’. It’s makin’ me worried, Arthur.”
Arthur fell into a short, thoughtful silence, disrupted by a harsh cough to the side. He cleared his throat and looked forward again, reaching ahead to pat his horse on the neck. “This ain’t happened before. Lots of folks are worried, but… We’ll do what we can, kid, just try to stay strong.” He replied, using the same excuse he’d use for every other person at camp.
You hesitated. The gang had been doing what they could. They had for a long time, but it only seemed to kill people. Dutch lead the gang with determination, mowing down anyone standing between him and his unachievable goals. These decisions, however, came with sacrifices. Sacrifices that stood behind him, praised his actions and followed his lead like a lamb, because they wouldn’t be able to do such a thing if it weren’t for him. Sacrifices that never stood in his way. Sacrifices that were lucky to have a grave, to be spoken of afterwards.
What if you became one of them?
“But Dutch, he- he made these choices, and… I don’t… he’s not right in the mind,” You reasoned in the nicest way possible, praying that the man beside you wouldn’t be ticked off by your remark. Judging by his opinions on the gang’s recent affairs, though, you don’t think he will.
Arthur, again, was silent. You took this as an opportunity to continue.
“I’m scared, Arthur. I’m really scared.” God, that’s not how you wanted to sound. Saying those words sounded like a plea, like you were a child. But what you said was partly how you felt, and maybe honesty was what was needed at the moment. Anxiousness and anger bubbled under your skin, the seeds of upcoming dread sprouting from when they were sown at the Blackwater robbery. “It- this ain’t normal. This is bad, Arthur, there must be somethin’ we can do.”
“I know, trust me, and I wish there was,” Arthur sighed, adjusting his gambler hat. “I’d be lyin’ if I said I weren’t scared, too. You shouldn’t have to deal with this. It ain’t fair to you; you’re just a kid.” He finished, neither agreeing or disagreeing with your previous statements. “But I’m… look, we’re all doin’ our best.”
Now, you know that’s true. You’re not stupid; but really? I mean, the gang had been on the run for months. So many people have died, and now Arthur’s saying that’s the best that they could do? Bullshit. Frustration simmered in your chest, like an urge that needed to be quelled. It itched and burned, your jaw tensing as he spoke.
“I know, but that’s- we wouldn’t be here if we were doin’ our best, I mean, God, come on, so many folks are dead, and it ain’t gettin’ better-” “Kid, please-” “and people are worried! People have died, Arthur, and Dutch won’t give up. Please, Arthur, just listen-” “I am listenin’, but-” “nothin’s getting better, people are scared, and- and what’s wrong with you? You ain’t been actin’ like you usually do, people are worried-” “That’s enough. We’ve already discussed this,” Arthur interrupted, his voice serious and hardened. It cut through the sound of birds chirping, the sound blurring into the background as your stomach practically dropped. Arthur never spoke to you in that way, meaning you likely crossed a line; with the tensions and questions coming from the members of the gang, it’s not surprising he was a little fed up.
You took a deep breath, glancing at him before looking forward once again. “I just- Arthur, we’re worried. We wanna know what’s wrong.”
The two of you fell into silence once more. This time, though, the sound of birds, leaves, or wind didn’t fill it.
“Kid, look, this isn’t your business. You shouldn’t be the one worried about this stuff, this ain’t what you should be spendin’ your time on.”
“Arthur, please-” “No, and I ain’t gonna say it again.”
So that was that.
In the back of your mind, something screamed that you had to do something, anything. But Dutch was so on edge, and after Micah did who knows what with the dog, Cain? You’re a little scared to step out of line.
But when Molly was shot by Ms. Grimshaw, you screamed at her. Then, when everyone chose sides, you went with Arthur.
Dutch stood at one side of the camp, shouting at Arthur with Micah by his side. With him stood Micah and Javier, though the latter was aiming his gun towards the hazy, darkening sky. You, despite the fact that the others told you to go, stood with Arthur, Sadie, John and Charles. Without a gun to aim at the others, you simply stayed to show who your loyalty lay with.
And then the men came.
The law.
You ran, and you ran hard. But horses were no match for a scrawny teenager's legs, and you didn’t get far before a lawman tackled you down.
At the moment, the only thing running through your head is that this has got to be a nightmare. No, this is a nightmare. Your vision almost seemed to darken, everything around you growing suffocatingly close. The lawman’s shouting drowned in the dark abyss of tree shadows and your cotton filled ears. Your heart beat out of your chest, and in the back of your mind, you knew that this was happening. That this isn’t a nightmare.
They dragged you away kicking and screaming, away to the shit filled streets and swampy air of Saint Denis. You could’ve sworn you’d seen John before you were taken away from the gang’s campgrounds.
Now, your life lay in the biassed hands of the law, and not a mentally ill middle aged man and the snake in his ear. You thought that you would’ve been sent to the gallows without another thought, but despite being an ‘outlaw’, you never truly committed crimes. At least, no one saw you commit your crimes. Therefore, the law deemed you a kidnapped child in need of a ‘civil’ way of life.
So, you were taken to what they called the “orphan trains”. An ominous thing that you were not thrilled for. They were trains that’d take orphaned kids from big cities to the lonely midwest, a place you were so unfortunately familiar with.
-----
It had been years.
Years of helping the woman you were supposed to find maternal collect eggs, of tilling crops, of scrubbing dishes with rowdy, annoying kids you were meant to call your siblings. Of birthdays past without the gang; and now, you were almost an adult.
But one day, your foster dad left his newspaper on the dining table, a mistake he would regret later. The newspaper said something that, after months of mundane and domestic boredom, piqued your interest.
Morning light streamed through the lacy curtains of the kitchen’s windows, the wood of the house creaking under the pressure of the wind.
Your foster dad, David, was reading the daily news, an ankle on his knee as he went about his morning routine while you were sitting at the dining table quietly. Your foster mother, Anne, was washing dishes from breakfast when one of the boys you’d been living with barged through the door of the house.
The woman startled, dropping a dish into the water. “Jeremy!” Anne scolded, looking at the boy.
“I think one of the horses is having a baby!” he shouted, two of the other kids following him and saying things along the lines of ‘hurry up, come on!’ at the man and woman. David shot up from his seat and Anne dropped what she was doing, telling you amongst the chaos to finish up the dishes as she left the house.
You stood from your seat, watching everyone rush out with slight annoyance. When the door shut, you pushed out your chair, the wood making a screeching sound as it slid across the hardwood floors. Standing up, you walked over the creaky wood to David’s newspaper that sat on the dining table.
It was full of boring deals and uninteresting stories, but one stuck out. It was about an underground fighting ring, which wouldn’t have caught your eye if it weren’t for the witness statements.
One in particular said some very distasteful things about a man of mixed race, but the summary was that he was Indigenous and African-American.
Indigenous and African-American.
You only know one man who is of those two ethnicities. Granted, you don’t know many people; but still, Indigenous, African American, and an outlaw? Come on.
The second after you read that passage, you made a plan. You’d leave at the dead of night, as soon as possible. Maybe it’s not solid, nor is it well thought through, but there’s no time for that. That night, you pack your things as light as possible.
And then, you finally start your journey back to Saint Denis.

Pairing: Yeosang x reader Word Count: 735 Genre: fluff, attempted humor, friends to lovers Warning(s): fwb ending, slight misuse of alcohol Synopsis: Friendships came and went as time wore on but you were always someone constant for him. Someone who unwaveringly stood beside him. Someone he grew to depend on and care for deeply.
Homewreckers and burnt food
The smell of smoke and burnt bacon filled your nose, waking you up out of your sleep. The sun was brightly shining in your tent. Rubbing your eyes, you rolled out of the sleeping bag and out the tent, seeing Yeosang cooking breakfast. You walked over to the crackling fire. He gave you a warm smile, telling you good morning. You being half asleep grunted in response. You were not a happy camper in the morning. Speaking in the morning, when you've just woken up, you need to be left alone for a few minutes before anyone speaks to you or you speak.
He sat next to you as you placed your head on his shoulder, trying not to fall back asleep. Lord knew you needed to. “Where is San?” Your voice was gruff and drenched in exhaustion.
He looked around at the scenery, “Taking a hike. Said he wanted to clear his mind.” He got up to move the food around so it wouldn’t continue to burn.
The view was stunning, the sun was shining bright, the birds were singing sweetly, and the tall green trees swaying in the breeze. The morning air was a little chilly but it was alright, you had the crackling fire in front of you. This trip might not have been how you thought it would be but it was still very nice. You had your two best friends with you, the scenery was beautiful. All around turning out nicely… so far.
He handed you a plate of slightly burnt food, you took it from him, thanking him but with a questionable look on your face. He shoved you playfully. You took a bite of the food, it hadn’t been that bad but you still wanted to tease him. So you gave a look of disgust as you munched and forced yourself to swallow it down. He clicked his tongue, again jokingly shoving you. “Then don’t eat it if it's bad! Starve!” He said, laughing at your dramatics. You shook your head. You didn’t want to starve! Not that he was going to let you but you wanted to continue playing along with his joke. “Yeah, that’s what I thought.” You both laughed.
“Stop flirting, please.” San was walking back into the room, “You’re going to make me throw up.”
You rolled your eyes, “So you aren’t feeling better?” Clearly, he wasn’t. His attitude this morning was terrible.
“Nope.” He snapped back at you.
You looked at Yeosang with a slight look of shock. He shouldn’t be snapping at you. You were just trying to get a read on him. He mirrored the same look. You guys were in complete sync with one another at that moment. “Did you find something else out?” He asked.
San nodded, “Apparently, they had been together the entire time they were hooking up with me.” Oh, that thought hadn’t even crossed your mind. There was no doubt in your mind that his friends with benefits was single the entire time they were hooking up. You had been completely sure that they weren’t that type of person.
You were shocked, “You little homewrecker.” You teased him. He did not like that joke in the slightest. If looks could kill you would be incinerated and in a pile of ash right now. You smiled awkwardly, looking to your other friend for help. You were absolutely sure he was going to kill you right on the spot.
He groaned in frustration, “I hate that you're right.”
You furrowed your eyebrows, “I was joking. You aren’t a homewrecker. You didn't know, it’s not your fault.”
Yeosang handed a plate of food to him. You gave him a look of confusion. Burnt food wasn’t going to comfort him at that moment but knowing Yeosang, it was the most he could do for right now. He knew San just needed some form of comfort right now and that was the best he could do. San took the food and started shoveling it into his mouth, he even went for seconds.
“I brought some beer, if you want that?” You said, getting up and started heading to your tent.
“It’s 7:30 in the morning!” Yeosang half shouted at you.
You deadpanned, “What’s your point?” The man was going through some heart break. Day drinking wasn’t going to fix the issue but it was better than dwelling on the issue.

Of A Past Left Behind
Chapter-4
Tagging: @mynameiskan @just-somehuman
POV: Hydrangeas
Two days passed by in the blink of an eye... I did not have too many patients to tend to, and Shinano was a strangely peaceful place, unlike the seas. Though, the castle was too crowded.
How could a single family have so many relatives, I wondered... This new world was much unlike The Lands Of Endless Rain, as was the culture.
However, I had to do more than just prescribe medicines, tend to wounds and injuries, and remove arrows. Apparently, they had assumed that I was a great doctor skilled in Western medicine, who could teach much to one of the daughters of the elderly lord.
It was hectic, answering stupid questions humans always ask. Though, it was fun too, discussing poisons and poisonous herbs with her.
The night before Tsukiko's wedding, I was sitting outside, on a log in the garden, polishing my surgical knife, the one that I had been keeping for 'self-defence'. I was humming an old song about the dragons of the hills of my homeland, the endless drizzle and the lush green woods, when I was interrupted by muffled noises of sobbing.
I looked towards the direction of the noise, and saw a woman in a flowery kimono, weeping, on the branch of a tree.
At first, I thought it was a hallucination, but I climbed up the tree to get a better look.
The weeping woman looked at me. It was Tsukiko. I was puzzled.
Why was she so weak, like most humans?
"What troubles you, Tsukiko?" I asked her, giving her a half-hearted, forced smile.
"Nothing. It is none of your concern." She stopped sobbing, but it seemed that she was afraid of falling off the tree. It was interesting to watch.
"You're getting married tomorrow. You should be happy."
"I don't know what to think of it, honestly... Or even if it will go well for me."
"Why? I am certain that you have considerable knowledge of poison."
"That would be foolish."
It seemed that she was too morally upright. Unlike me...
"Why not use knowledge to improve your life? Besides, I don't know what benefit they shall get from this marriage."
"I don't know either. But I'm not poisoning anyone. It would be wrong."
"Why? What's wrong with applying your knowledge to real life?" My question was ignored, left unanswered.
"What are you doing with that surgical knife?" She seemed to be interested in the knife I was fiddling with.
"Oh, this? This is my 'self-defence knife'. Easy to carry and hide. Isn't she cute?" I said with a slight smile.
"You are a doctor, and yet, you are an odd one..."
"What does being a doctor have to do with any of this?"
It seemed that she did not like me, for she seemed to avoid answering my question.
After a few seconds of silence, Tsukiko looked at me and asked, "Are you not human? Please do not mind me asking this question again."
"Maybe? But does that matter?"
"It doesn't, but I'm curious."
"I'm a plant."
"What?" Tsukiko seemed to be in disbelief.
"Well, I was a plant... Then I died, and woke up here..."
"That is strange."
"Indeed, I have yet to meet any of my kind in this world..."
"Why are you a 'traveling doctor', then?"
"I wish to find a way back to where I am from."
It felt odd, having been honest for once in a long time...
"What is your homeland like?"
"Perhaps my words shall not be enough, yet it is a beautiful place... Much more beautiful than you can imagine. The skies are cloudy most of the time and it drizzles endlessly... Sometimes it rains heavily, and hails, but I do not have much to mention about those... And there are forests... Plenty of them."
"It is cold? You said it drizzles all the time..."
"Not so cold. Though, the higher hills may be a little windy and chilly."
"Do you have family?"
"I did, but they are no more."
"I am so sorry for asking." Tsukiko looked at me apologetically.
"No, I don't mind..."
She stayed silent, so I spoke... "Doesn't it feel terrible when someone you've known your whole life, destroys it completely?"
She looked at me silently, panic and worry in her eyes.
I had nothing else to say, so I let out a dry, maniacal laugh.
Perhaps, I had terrified the young lady. Without exchanging any words, I helped her climb down the branch and watched, as she walked away, towards the castle...
I was beginning to feel a strange... empathy... for the Lady Tsukiko...
She reminded me of when I was younger, and had to do things no one my age would have ever thought of doing, under the Queen's orders...
I let out a sigh, looking down at the knife in my hand, and tucked it into my obi.
Note: This was initially supposed to be about Motonari and Hydrangeas. I somehow ended up writing about Hydrangeas and Tsukiko starting their friendship. Guess my hand slipped. :v

Neteyam
In general, Neteyam loves coffee with 3 sugars and one cream
He attempted to drink it black like Jake but he couldn't take the bitterness and briefly feared for his father’s sanity
He loves coming to your apartment to make it because “your coffee machine is just so much better what can I say?”
He wasn’t wrong. The coffee machine was a house warming gift from your mother. It was one of those fancy coffee makers that you didn’t know exactly how it work with all of its different functions and buttons.
Sometimes, if it’s a calm day you will put on a random playlist of songs you both like and he’ll make the coffee.
But mostly Neteyam likes to have his coffee after his morning run with you and drinks outta that one cup you brought from a souvenir shop a decade ago
He has grown weirdly attached to the cup too. Like he wouldn’t drink any coffee if it wasn’t out of that cup and would spend an ungodly amount of time looking for it
It’s weird but you find it cute how childish he could be
Especially when he’s so mature about everything else in his life
Once in a while, he’ll drink hot chocolate with whip cream and a dash of cinnamon to top it off
If it’s a chilly day outside and you guys were inside, just enjoying the other’s company. The relaxed atmosphere added with the warm sugary drink made everything just feel right
It’s one of Neteyam’s favorite days, where he could just be, just exist
Whenever he drinks hot chocolate, he’ll get a whipped cream mustache that you’ll tease him about even after he licks it off his mouth
Lo’ak
Hot chocolate lover all the way
He’s only drinking tea if he’s sick, and coffee if he’s exhausted
And you know it’s bad if he’s drinking coffee because of how much he hates the taste against his tongue
No matter how much creamer, milk, or sugar he puts into the drink, it retains its bitter taste. He has no idea how his parents or Neteyam can drink it with no problem. Every time he wonders about their sanity
On your 2nd date, you and him stumbled into this Mom and Pop store that sells unique flavors of hot chocolate
You were hesitant to try it just like you were hesitant to go on a date just aimlessly walking until something “feels right”
Lo’ak, however, went right up to the counter with no hesitation with a smile on his face and ordered based on what “sounded good”
He ordered Fluffernutter hot chocolate with peanut butter and marshmallow inside while he got you a Red Velvet hot chocolate. It was the only “tame” options on the chalk board menus that decorated the walls of the homey shop
He was impulsive like that. Something you love and hate about him because how many situations he gets in
Surprisingly the drinks were really good. While the thought is definitely something people would protest, somehow it tastes heavenly
The red velvet and the hot chocolate flavors mix deliciously in your mouth together
The shop easily became a go-to for the both of you
Sometimes Lo’ak goes alone to get some peace and quiet or just needs a pick me up in the form of warm mug filled with sweetness
Ao’nung
You would be surprised but he loves himself some tea
Blame his mother for the addiction
Whenever his family was sick with something his mother would go into the kitchen and make some tea for them to drink
It worked like magic everytime
Though eventually, Ao’nung found himself drinking tea even if he wasn’t sick. His favorite is green tea because of how calming it is and the health benefits too
When he drinks the warm beverage, the warmth travels down his throat and soothes him to his very soul
Takes him back to a simpler time when he could be himself unapologetically, and all of these expectations weren’t suffocating him
He will die before he lets anyone knows because he knows it’s not what people think of him
And he cares what people think about him but when you found out
People make assumptions about him and when they think of him, college basketball player, it’s not a tea drinker. Maybe a energy drink after a long game to regain energy but not green tea to calm his nerves
You were in this little shop that sells teas, loose and bagged ones one day. Then you saw him carrying a shopping basket with tea boxes filled to the brim walking into the aisle you were randomly wandering in
He tried to avoided you but you quickly caught up to him. You were friends with his sister Tsireya and became sorta-friends with Rotxo, so you guys were used to being in the same room.
When he told you why he was in the shop, you didn’t judge him nor laugh at him like Ao’nung expected you to. You were surprised he loved tea because he didn’t seem like the type to
You two have been a lot closer through your shared love for tea. Trading secrets, giving recommendations, trying out new tea shops or restaurants together, sometimes with friends and sometimes just you two
Because of this new found connection, you guys got a lot closer in terms of friendship. Ao’nung let you in on why he felt the need to shut this part of himself out, to not let anyone but family and close friends know
It was hard work and there were many setbacks but eventually, you helped Ao'nung get to a place where he didn't care about what others thought of him. Not caring if they thought that his interest or hobbies fitted the cookie-cutter mold they put him in.
Eventually, those outings grew from friendly hangouts to romantic dates

Where Should You Plant Trees for Maximum Benefits?
Planting trees isn't just about adding a touch of green to your landscape; it's like creating your own personal outdoor oasis. Trees are the unsung heroes of our environment, providing shade, improving air quality, and even boosting your property's value. But where you plant these leafy wonders can make all the difference. In this guide, we'll show you how to plant trees strategically to maximize their benefits, from creating a cool, shady retreat to blocking out those pesky winds. Let's get planting!
1. Plant Trees to Maximize Shade
Want to turn your home into a cool oasis during the scorching summer months? Planting shade trees is like installing a natural air conditioner. By strategically placing trees on the east, west, and southwest sides of your home, you can block the sun's rays and keep your indoor spaces cool and comfortable. And the best part? Deciduous trees, like those that shed their leaves in the fall, offer a two-for-one deal. They provide shade in the summer and let the sunshine in during the winter, helping you save on heating costs. It's like having a natural thermostat in your backyard!
2. Create Natural Windbreaks
Tired of battling those pesky winds? Planting trees as windbreaks is like building a natural fortress to protect your property. A strategically placed row of trees can shield your home, garden, and outdoor structures from the elements. Imagine having a cozy, wind-free retreat in your own backyard. To get the most out of your windbreak, plant them on the side of your property that faces the prevailing winds, usually the north or northwest. And for year-round protection, evergreen trees are your best bet. Plant them in staggered rows, and watch them work their magic in blocking those pesky winds. It's like having your own personal windshield!
3. Improve Energy Efficiency
Want to save some green on your energy bills? Trees aren't just for looks; they can also be your secret weapon for energy conservation. In addition to providing shade in the summer, strategically planting trees to the north or northwest of your home can act as a natural windbreak, keeping your house cozy and warm during the chilly winter months. It's like having your own personal energy-saving shield. And here's a bonus tip: planting smaller shrubs and trees close to your house can create an insulating layer of air, further enhancing your home's energy efficiency. Your trees are working harder than you think!
4. Enhance Privacy and Noise Reduction
Want to create a private oasis in your backyard? Planting trees is like building a natural fence that provides privacy and peace of mind. By strategically placing dense, fast-growing trees around your property, you can shield your outdoor spaces from prying eyes and create a more intimate atmosphere. And trees reduce noise pollution. Plant tall trees in a staggered formation near the source of the noise, and let them soak up the unwanted sounds. Evergreens are like a year-round privacy curtain, providing a thick barrier against noise and unwanted views. So, plant away and enjoy your newfound privacy!
5. Encourage Wildlife and Biodiversity
Want to create a wildlife haven in your backyard? Planting native trees is like rolling out the red carpet for your feathered and furry friends. These trees provide food and shelter for local wildlife, making your yard a nature lover's paradise. To attract birds, pollinators, and small mammals, group multiple trees together in a secluded corner of your yard. It's like building a mini wildlife sanctuary!
Just a friendly reminder: If you're inviting wildlife into your backyard, avoid planting trees too close to your home or driveway. Falling leaves and animal activity can be a bit messy, so choose a spot that's away from high-traffic areas. Let your wildlife guests enjoy their natural habitat without causing any inconveniences.
6. Consider Soil and Drainage Conditions
Before you start planting, it's important to understand your soil's personality. Some trees prefer moist, soggy soil, while others are more drought-tolerant. It's like finding the perfect roommate for your yard! To figure out your soil's preferences, you can test it yourself or consult with a local expert in tree care service in Portland, Oregon. They’ll be able to recommend tree species that will thrive in your specific conditions, ensuring your trees have a happy and healthy home.
7. Avoid Planting Too Close to Structures
Think of your trees like your neighbors. You want them to be friendly and harmonious, but not too close for comfort. Planting trees too close to your home, driveway, or underground utilities can lead to some serious drama. As trees grow, their roots can become invasive, causing damage to foundations, plumbing, or sidewalks. It's like having a neighbor who digs up your garden or accidentally cuts your power.
To avoid any tree-related conflicts, make sure to plant large trees at least 15-20 feet away from your home and structures. And always look up before you plant! Trees that grow too tall can become a safety hazard, so be mindful of overhead power lines. Let's keep the peace in your neighborhood and avoid any tree-related drama.
Final Thoughts
Planting trees is like creating a masterpiece in your backyard. It's not just about choosing the right colors (or tree species), but also about placing them strategically. Think of your trees as pieces of a puzzle, each with a unique role to play. By considering factors like sunlight, wind direction, soil conditions, and proximity to structures, you can create a harmonious landscape that benefits you in countless ways.
If you're feeling overwhelmed by all the choices, don't hesitate to consult with a local certified arborist. They're like tree whisperers, with expert knowledge of the best species and placements for your specific landscape. With their guidance, you can create a thriving garden that will bring joy and beauty to your home for years to come.

Blog Post 8
It’s getting a bit chilly outside and I’ll be honest… it’s affected my workout schedule. I am not a fan of cold weather. It keeps me in the house, snuggled up in a blanket, watching TV or reading a book.
Even though I’ve slacked up on going to the gym, I’ve continued my fitness journey through eating and establishing healthy practices in the kitchen. I’m not exactly sure why, but I did not believe the fitness community when they said that real results are made in the kitchen. Maybe because I didn’t want to believe them.
During the past few weeks, I’ve had to gain lots of knowledge pertaining to what foods are best for me and my goals. There’s so many fads and diets out there. Keto, blood type eating, intermittent fasting, and the list goes on. I did not want to completely cut out any food group as I know that wouldn’t be sustainable for me so instead I chose to research better food options to incorporate and how to prepare holistic meals and more nutrient dense options.
Everyone knows that fruits and vegetables are great and healthy choices for the body. My problem was figuring out what fruits and vegetables would work for me. What fruits and vegetables could I buy and actually eat and not let waste away in my refrigerator or on my countertop?
Kiwis were one of the fruits that I found to be very fitting. In the mornings, I have two kiwis. Kiwis are a great source of fiber which encourages regular bowel movements. This fruit aids in digestion as well as colon and gut health. They are also great for the immune system being that they have exceptional amounts of Vitamin C.
Another food I’ve incorporated regularly are greens. I have greens every night for dinner whether it be mustard greens, turnip greens, collard greens, spinach, or kale. Like kiwis, greens also aid in digestion. They are high in fiber but low in calories which makes them a great choice for losing weight. Studies also show that they can lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of developing a chronic disease.
Overall, I’ve tried to cut out processed foods and eat more whole foods. Foods from nature serve purpose and provide healing and more benefits to the body and are less likely to cause disease and sickness. These foods also aid greatly in weight loss since they are free of many of the toxins found in processed and packaged foods.

Harmonizing Your Bedroom: Winter Curtains and Cozy Aesthetics
As the colder months approach, transforming your bedroom into a cozy retreat becomes a priority. One way to achieve warmth and style simultaneously is by selecting the right winter curtains. Winter-specific curtains, such as thermal curtains for winter and insulated curtains, not only keep your room warm but also enhance the overall ambiance. In this article, we’ll explore how to harmonize winter curtains with your bedroom’s aesthetic while ensuring you get the insulation benefits to keep the cold at bay.
The Importance of Winter Curtains
Winter curtains are designed with extra layers of insulation to trap heat inside and block out the cold. The materials used in thermal curtains and insulated drapes are heavier than typical curtains, providing added warmth during colder months. Besides insulating against chilly drafts, thermal insulated curtains for winter also block out light, offering you a better sleep environment.
While their functionality is undeniable, curtains for winter insulation can also be aesthetically pleasing, contributing to the cozy feel of your bedroom during the colder season.
Selecting Winter Curtains That Match Your Bedroom’s Style
When choosing insulated curtains for your bedroom, it’s essential to think about how they’ll blend with your existing décor. Below are a few popular bedroom styles and tips on selecting the perfect thermal curtains for each.
1. Modern Chic
For bedrooms that follow a modern chic style, characterized by sleek lines, minimalist furniture, and neutral color schemes, thermal curtains for winter in soft, neutral tones are ideal. Shades like ivory, light grey, or taupe can seamlessly integrate with modern furnishings, adding warmth without overpowering the room’s simplicity.
Consider choosing insulated curtains with a light texture or subtle sheen to add depth to the otherwise clean and streamlined look. These curtains not only enhance the modern aesthetic but also offer the practical benefit of blocking drafts during the cold season.
2. Rustic and Cozy
If your bedroom leans toward a rustic or cozy style, often featuring wooden furniture, warm lighting, and earthy tones, you’ll want to choose insulated curtains that reflect this natural aesthetic. Opt for winter curtains in rich colors like deep brown, burgundy, or forest green. Curtains with a heavier fabric, such as flannel or thick cotton, will not only provide better insulation but also contribute to the warm, welcoming feel of a rustic bedroom.
In addition to traditional curtain styles, you can also consider thermal drapes with decorative elements, like wooden or bronze curtain rods, to tie in with your rustic design.
3. Boho and Eclectic
Bohemian-style bedrooms are known for their bold colors, patterns, and textures. Don’t be afraid to make a statement with your thermal insulated curtains. Opt for bright or deep jewel tones like sapphire, mustard yellow, or burnt orange, which can complement your boho bedding and accessories.
Look for insulated curtains with interesting textures or patterns, such as Moroccan-inspired prints or paisley designs. Not only will these curtains keep your room warm during the winter, but they will also add to the layered, eclectic feel that defines bohemian style.
4. Classic and Traditional
For bedrooms with a more traditional or classic design, consider winter drapes in luxurious fabrics like velvet or silk blends. These materials not only provide excellent insulation but also lend an air of sophistication to the room. Rich, deep colors like navy blue, emerald green, or burgundy work well in traditional spaces and add a sense of grandeur.
To further enhance the classic look, choose thermal insulated curtains with ornate curtain rods or decorative tiebacks. This combination of function and elegance will give your bedroom a polished, cohesive look while ensuring you stay warm throughout the winter.
Layering for Extra Warmth and Style
One of the best ways to increase the insulation power of your winter curtains is by layering them with other window treatments. Here’s how you can incorporate layers to enhance both the style and functionality of your bedroom curtains:
Sheer and Thermal Combination: Layering sheer curtains with thermal insulated curtains for winter allows you to let in natural light during the day while keeping your room insulated at night. The sheer layer adds a soft, delicate touch to your bedroom, while the heavier insulated curtains can be drawn to retain warmth.
Dual Layer Curtains: For a more dramatic effect, opt for dual-layer curtains where the front layer serves as a decorative touch, and the back layer provides insulation. This not only enhances the room’s aesthetics but also offers double protection against the cold.
Valances and Curtain Toppers: To further add to the coziness, you can use valances or curtain toppers in addition to your insulated curtains. Valances soften the overall look of the window, making it feel more inviting while also adding an extra layer of warmth around the edges.
Practical Considerations for Winter Curtains
While choosing curtains based on design is important, don’t forget the practical aspects, especially when selecting curtains for winter insulation. Here are a few tips to ensure your curtains are as functional as they are beautiful:
Fabric: Choose thick, heavyweight fabrics for maximum insulation. Fabrics like velvet, flannel, and wool are excellent at trapping heat. Thermal curtains for winter are usually lined with insulating layers, so check for this feature when purchasing.
Length and Width: Ensure your curtains are long enough to reach the floor and wide enough to cover the entire window. This will prevent drafts from sneaking in and keep the warmth inside. Floor-length curtains are particularly effective for large bedroom windows or sliding doors.
Color and Light Control: Dark-colored insulated curtains will absorb more heat and provide better insulation, but if you prefer lighter tones, make sure they are lined for added warmth. Additionally, thermal insulated blackout curtains are a great option for bedrooms as they block out both light and cold air, ensuring a restful night’s sleep.
Maintenance: Since insulated curtains are made from heavier materials, they may require more care. Opt for curtains that are machine washable or easy to clean, especially if your bedroom gets a lot of natural light or dust.
Final Touches for a Cozy Bedroom
Winter is all about creating a space that feels warm, inviting, and comfortable. Along with choosing the right thermal curtains, you can enhance your bedroom’s coziness with a few simple touches:
Layered Bedding: Consider thick duvets, blankets, and decorative pillows in soft fabrics like fleece, wool, or flannel to complete the winter look.
Warm Lighting: Swap out bright, cool-toned bulbs for warm, soft lighting to create a soothing atmosphere that complements the rich tones of your winter curtains.
Area Rugs: Adding a plush area rug near your bed not only provides warmth underfoot but also ties together the entire winter aesthetic.
Conclusion
Choosing the right winter curtains for your bedroom involves balancing both functionality and style. Whether your design leans toward modern minimalism, rustic coziness, or bohemian eclecticism, there’s a perfect set of thermal insulated curtains to match your décor and keep your space warm during the colder months. By considering your bedroom’s overall theme, layering techniques, and practical aspects like fabric and length, you can create a stylish and comfortable retreat that shields you from the winter chill.

◈ ⇢ @shimmerbeasts ⋯ Unprompted Ask ♡ ⸻ "You know I never got the point of this exercise."
The 'Dark Justicar' flicked their fingers against the tip of their spear. Twirling it around in a needlessly flourishing gesture, they lowered the tip beside their feet as they began to circle the chained-up and dewinged aasimar at the centre in the Gauntlet of Shar. Their robe swang softly in the chilly air of a starless night.
"I mean, don't get me wrong... Aylin, was it?", the knight said as they looked the pale, grime-covered woman in her shabby robes up and down, "I see why having a living target, which cannot die, might be a good idea. At least for the first few rounds or so." The Dark Justiciar chuckled as they inspected their spear. "Most only come up with one or two ideas of how to kill something. Maybe five if you are really, really lucky. But even then it is just an alteration of the same few ideas, you already had."
The knight smirked and their eyes shimmered in warning. Suddenly, they took to a sprint and came darting forward. Swinging the spear, its bright stainless steel tip burrowed itself into Aylin's throat. It did not yet spill any blood, however, for once this was not the point here. The fingers on the free hand of the Dark Justiciar twisted and curled as if their sinews were pulling themselves together more than they ought to.
They smiled and remarked: "Plus, what is the whole point in learning how to kill something if that something cannot even be bothered to stay dead? It is an insult towards the participant's skills, or rather lack thereof, and it is an even bigger insult to my Father's intentions."
Aylin's head hung down, growling through gritted teeth. Her fangs flashed, wolfish as icy blue eyes looked up at this so-called Dark Justiciar. No, she knew she wasn't one, there hadn't been a sharran in this shadowfell for almost a century. Something had happened to them, she heard Shar's curses and rage and was no longer able to use the gauntlet for her benefit. A part of her had been amused by the anger, and she had become the sole source of Shar's torment. Her mind was constantly taunted by her aunt's words. And then, the whispers of the sharran who would kill her, she saw her face, she knew who she was. Shadowheart.
This was not Shadowheart; whoever it was had managed to get through the gauntlet, to find the Shadowfell. Silver blood trickled down her back, dotting the ground underneath the mykrulite magic that contained her. Phantom spasms against her spine where wings should have flapped, but none did. This... charlatan had stripped her of her wings, but they would grow back once more. It was her nature to continue to heal, never dying and an immortal source of power and life. It's why Ketheric had her bound, stealing her life, her strength, and her vitality. "How coy of you, to take the face of that which you do not comprehend. What's it like, shapechanger, to grasp the edges of a face like a mask? Masquerading around as if you even understand the depths of that armor you pretend to wear,"
Aylin's head lifted, pulling on her arms that were pulled taunt, hanging in the center of the circle. The whisp of magic, like smoke, twisting around her ankles, siphoning her power and magic through the eerie shadowed green element through the shimmering circle below. There was no escape, she had been trapped, for days. months. decades. Aylin knew it had been a long time, and Shar reminded her of it.
"I have had my fill of mutilation and torture; you, little one, are but a speck of dirt in the life I have lived. You all frolick upon the battle of torture and death as if it is a gift to bear such actions upon another. It'll be your undoing," She leaned forward, as best she could, glaring down at the so-called knight, an imposter in Sharran's armor. The sudden movement caused a blade to meet the center of her throat, pressing firmly against her skin and threatening to cut. And yet, Aylin gazed at the smirking knight completely unphased.
Aylin smirked her lips, at the tone of her lips. "So yet another follower of the dead three. Though I have never heard of one of them siring a child with the mortal flesh. You must truly wish to be viewed as a goddess even though there is not a single drop of godly blood in your veins. Once again, a pretender vying for the fame of their god. Your father can't have me. I am immortal as the world itself. You may have my blood, but that is it. Ketheric, Balthazar, you. All the same," Aylin snipped her words, a sharp tone on her lips as she glared. Despite being bound by chains and magic, her voice sounded with determination, and refused to let her words be restrained. She may be the nightsong by the Sharrans but she refuses to sing on purpose.
"Remove that mask of yours, pretender, and tell me who you are?"
#shimmerbeasts#[ aylin answers ] — the nightsong will sing again .#[ aylin interactions ] — you will address me with due deference .#[ aylin shadowfell verse ] — trapped within a prison of loss .#[ panda speaks ] — tracker .#thread: a pretender in dark armor

Earlier I asked @m34gs if there was a Starbucks in Twisted Wonderland, what would the Housewarden's go-to order be? She answered in this ask, but also prompted me to give my thoughts. As a tea only drinker this will be challenging for me, but online menus are the best!
Riddle - London Fog (Earl Grey Latte) with milk foam
Without a doubt in my mind Riddle has to have a tea order. Tea is an important part of Heartslaybul and if Riddle doesn't drink a certain quota of tea then he's breaking at least ten-fifteen rules and he CANNOT let that happen.
This order is also very simple in both saying and ingredients. There isn't a lot of variety with this one, which helps Riddle ease into the drink order. I'm certain he grew up believing anything his mother deemed "fancy" was unnecessary and horrible. This drink helps meet a balance for Riddle: tea and simple. I'm certain once he becomes comfortable with drinks he'll branch into Refreshers or Frappaccinos.
Leona - Iced Peach Green Tea
Like you said, Leona doesn't like complicated drinks nor does he want something hot or caffeinated. He wants his precious naps! This drink meets Leona's requirements: simple (so no one can screw it up if they're doing a run for him), cold, and a little sweet.
Azul - Brown Sugar Oat Americano with 4-5 shots of espresso
I agree with you: Azul, like Idia, is living on caffeine and sugar. Only while Idia is unapologetic in his caffeine/sugar order, Azul tries to disguise his with fancy additives (the brown sugar syrup pumps, cinnamon topping, and oat beverage). This way he can tell people what he's drinking without mentioning the word "espresso" in his order. No one is fooled though. They all know exactly what Azul's habits are.
Kalim - Strawberry Creme Frappuccino with extra whip
Scarabia is hot and Frappuccinos aren't. Strawberries are delicious and sweet. Combining these elements makes for a delicious drink that I think Kalim would love. I agree he has a sweet tooth and thus he wants extra whip. In truth, I think Kalim would like all kinds of frappuccinos, but he also strikes me as someone who likes fruit. Hence, I think this is a good pick for him.
Vil - Matcha Latte, two extra scoops of matcha, with non-fat milk
Look, I know this is basically my order, except without the non-fat milk, but hear me out. Matcha has many health benefits. It is high in anti-oxidants, can help protect your liver, boosts brain function, may help prevent cancer and boost heart health, and helps regulate weight. With so many fantastic benefits, I think this is something Vil would go for as he strikes me as someone who values healthy foods.
Idia - Espresso Macchiato with milk foam and with whatever unholy amount of espresso shots he's feeling like adding
I agree 100% with you: Idia lives on two things: caffeine and sugar. With this, he's basically drinking milky espresso/sugar. Just typing this is making my head hurt. He's also ordering this late into the night and consuming it as he plays games. Again, as you said, the only reason why he doesn't add more shots (which I checked and the counter wasn't stopping me from adding them) is because Ortho threatened his computer with perma-death.
Malleus - Chai Latte with milk foam
While I also think it's super cute for Malleus to go for the Dragon Fruit drink, I also think he likes tea. He's also wary of coffee shops as he's very unfamiliar and uncomfortable in there. However, thanks to Yuu and Lilia he visits for the first time and nearly panics when he sees all the options and customization. So, he orders one of the most simple items on the menu. Besides, drinking Chai is like receiving a warm hug and I think Diasomnia can be a bit on the chilly side.
(I also think Leona wants to make fun of him for having a "basic bitch order" but his order is also rather basic in nature.)
There you go! Here are my options! I hope you like them, friend!

Benefits of Jasmine Black Tea: A Fragrant Indulgence
Black tea with jasmine is a unique and delightful beverage known for its distinctive taste and health benefits. It offers a sweetish flavor with a hint of richness, eliminating the need for added sugar. Contrary to common belief, jasmine tea isn’t brewed solely from jasmine leaves; rather, dried jasmine petals are blended with black, green, or white tea leaves. This combination results in a tea that boasts a bright aroma, tangy taste, and numerous health advantages.
Jasmine enhances the positive attributes of black tea by infusing it with essential oils that promote brain function, support the nervous system, and aid digestion. It’s effective in relieving bronchitis and asthma symptoms, aiding detoxification, and purifying the blood. Just a cup or two of jasmine black tea daily can help shed a few pounds over a month. The caffeine and tannins in black tea, intensified by jasmine’s essential oils, boost metabolism. The tart flavor suppresses appetite, while its natural sweetness curbs sugar cravings.
Jasmine black tea has long been recognized for its mood-enhancing properties, fostering feelings of happiness and tranquility. It’s also a great warmer for chilly days.
However, avoid drinking it when you have a fever, as it may exacerbate elevated body temperatures. Historically, Chinese emperors reserved time for jasmine tea before intimate evenings with their beloveds, believing it could enhance sexual desire and endurance. Today, a cup of jasmine black tea can serve as a natural alternative to boost romance, though this remains a lesser-known benefit.
Elevate your tea experience with our premium jasmine black tea. Discover the delightful blend of floral jasmine notes and rich black tea—perfect for indulgent moments. Treat yourself today!
