Happy STS! Do you have a favourite mythic story or aspect of myth in general that's incorporated in your WIP?

This may sound a little odd, but my favorite mythic story is the Greek myth of Echo. Something about her just stuck with me. I even named my dog Echo specifically because of that myth. I can't say much on the subject yet, but I definitely use the idea of wasting away until only your voice (or something else) is left in the world in War Witch to an extent.

The much more obvious myth aspect that I tend to use comes from the general feeling in both Celtic and Greek mythology that the gods were just kinda people. Yes they're powerful and terrifying, but they're just people deep down. They get angry, make mistakes, do stupid and spiteful things. They can be benevolent and kind and wise, and helps humans just as much as they harm them. They're not just these all-powerful beings who can do no wrong, you know? War Witch has a lot of that.

Guys I found something really cool. The Archaeological museum of Thebes, Greece made a website game where you can find how your name would be written in the different scripts used for the Greek language. It has all the Greek names under the sun but it also has plenty of names that have foreign equivalent versions or even foreign origins. So if you are a foreigner, what you need to do is search the modern Greek version of your name if it exists and then try to find it in this site!

Although the museum’s website is available in English too (and it’s cool btw) the game is only available in Greek, at least at the moment, so I’ll give you a step by step:

As an example, I chose a Greek name that has become very common around the world too. I chose Alexander. In modern Greek, it's ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΣ or Αλέξανδρος. So you go to letter Α and search for it.

So if you search ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΣ in its database, it gives you the following script options:
