Adult Great white pelicans swimming in a calm freshwater pond. Pelecanus onocrotalus also known as the eastern white pelican, rosy pelican or white pelican is a bird in the pelican family. The great white pelican is a giant white bird with an enormous pink and yellow bill. Found in Bulgaria, Burgas region. The flock of pelicans was photographed early in the morning, the birds tend to sleep together at night for security. The flock comes in the early spring in the region to feed and nest. Its unique characteristic is the “gular pouch” inside its beak.
