One year ago I had the honor of creating a custom yarnbomb on @twincitieslive at the MN State Fair! I’ve been looking for a good place to display it since my interview and I finally found the perfect spot. Twin Cities Live is all about showing off all the great things the Twin Cities has to offer and Pop Ups at Central Station is all about providing a fun space for the Twin Cities community to gather for free music, books, and games in downtown Saint Paul. The fair may be over the Great MN Knit Together photo contest lives on! Sometimes when we leave the fair the only thing we want to do is go home and crawl up on the couch in the air-conditioning and fall asleep to Netflix. Uploading our Fair photos, shockingly, isn't always top priority. If this sounds a bit like you, you're in luck because the photo contest will keep going for a couple more days. I have six fabulous prizes to give away! Post your photos on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter using the hashtag #thegreatmnknittogether and you'll be entered to win one of those fabulous prizes. "She was like the sun, She knew her place in the world - She would shine again regardless of all the storms and changeable weather She wouldn't adjust her purpose for things that pass." -Nikki Rowe This awesome lady posted her photo earlier on in the fair for #thegreatmnknittogether photo contest and I absolutely loved it! All the sunshine both in the reflections, bouncing off her hair, and in the yarnbomb suns in the back. It's such a sunny smiley feel good photo. I actually got to know this gal a little more as the fair went on because this is the one and only @burly_babe! A wonderful human being and a phenomenal artist, we'd been following each other on IG for awhile and now she was selling her amazing wooden art/jewelry the grandstand directly behind my yarnbomb exhibition! It is super important to support artists, especially local artists, and even more important for females to support each other. If you look in the second and third photos you'll see some of her fabulous earrings and in the 4th it shows more of her beautiful work. Re the yarnbombed horse was on display today at @canterburypark for @junkbonanza! It felt so good to see my girl after a year. She's still lookin lovely as ever and just as soft (I definitely gave her a hug). If you haven't seen this pretty mare yet she'll be on display at Junk Bonanza tomorrow from 9am-5pm however yours truly will be at Yarnover! Whew! I've been MIA on IG for a couple days because I've been working hard on the fabulous Cocktails at the Castle party that will be held this Friday at the fabulous @amswedinstitute!
