While he was upstairs, you took the time to lay out the food, placing it on the kitchen island with two plates and forks. You knew Justin wouldn’t eat much, but the effort was important. The smell of greasy fries filled the room, comfort foods that defied his strict diet but always brought a smile to his face.

When Justin reappeared, he looked slightly less defeated, his hair damp and his skin still pink from the shower. He was dressed in loose sweatpants and a t-shirt, his muscular frame more relaxed without the constraints of his football gear. He took his seat on the stool opposite you, his eyes scanning the food before meeting yours.

“Thank you,” he said again, his voice a bit more present this time.

The two of you ate in silence, the only sounds were the occasional clinking of silverware against the plates and the distant hum of the refrigerator. You studied him as his eyes flickered between his food and the floor. You knew he was replaying every snap, every pass, every hit in his head. You wanted to reach out and tell him it was just one game, but you knew the words would fall flat. Instead, you focused on your own meal, offering a gentle smile every time he glanced up.

Finally, when your plates were mostly cleared, you gathered the dishes and started to wash them. Justin wordlessly helped you, placing the leftovers in the fridge and handing you a dish towel. As the two of you worked together in the quiet, you felt a weight lift from your chest.

As you rinsed off the last plate, Justin stepped closer, his arms circling your waist. He leaned into you, his cheek pressing against your back, his breath hot on your neck. “You okay?” you asked gently, feeling the tension in his embrace. He nodded, but you knew better. The silence between the two of you was heavy, filled with the weight of his thoughts.

You turned around, set the plate aside, and wrapped your arms around his neck. His gaze was downcast, his eyebrows furrowed. “You don’t have to be okay right now, you know,” you whispered. “You can just be. I’m here.”

Justin's eyes searched yours for a moment before a sigh of relief seemed to escape him. He leaned into you, his arms tightening around you. “You’re right,” he said, his voice muffled against your hair. “Sorry, I just—”

You cut him off with a shake of your head. “Don’t be sorry, J. We’ve been through this before. I’m always here for you, no matter what.”

Justin nodded, his grip on you tightening for a brief moment before he stepped back, his hands moving to your hips. He looked down at you, his eyes still clouded with the shadows of the game. “Thank you for understanding,” he murmured, his thumbs tracing small circles on the fabric of your shirt.

You leaned into his touch. You knew he was struggling to shake off the weight of the loss, so you offered a small smile. “Let’s get these dishes put away and then you can tell me all about it if you want. Or not, if you don’t.” You reached up to cup his cheek, your thumb brushing over the stubble.

It's been 2 months since Nova was born. Tonight is the first time me and Harry are actually going to be spending some time together without the baby. I was really appreciative about leaving her but when Faith said she'd look after her I knew she'd be alright. Faith has spent lots of time at my apartment and I've spent lots at her house, to keep each other company when the boys are on a shoot, so I know Nova loves her.

I quickly got ready while Harry watched the baby. I slicked back my slightly greasy hair (since I've been too busy to wash it), put on some makeup then threw on a dress with a matching blazer and some dark brown boots. Once I was finished I took Nova from Harry so he could quickly get dressed. Then we got all of Nova's stuff, Harry took some photos of me for my instagram in the lift, got her strapped into her car seat and made our way to Ethan and Faith's house.

When we arrived outside the big black gates surrounding the front of the house I gave Faith a quick text and the gates opened a few seconds later. "Hey!" Faith said emerging from the house and walking towards the car. I smiled lightly "hi!" Her mouth dropped slightly "you look incredible!" She said. A small blush covered my cheeks "thanks." Ethan came out a few minutes later with Olive attached to his hip. "You alright mate?" He said to Harry as he got out of the car. "Yea mate, you?" Harry replied. "Good good. Where's Nova?" Ethan asked. "Oh shit ye!" I said quietly running over to the back seat door. Faith laughed "I've done that before." She stated.

"She'll be fine." Faith said trying to comfort me as I walked out of the front door. "I know, I know, I trust you. But-" I sighed. "I felt the exact same the first time I left Olive with someone else, I still hate it now. Just go and enjoy your night, try not to worry too much." She said kindly. I smiled "thanks Faith, see you later." I said and with that both me and Harry hopped into the car and sped off towards the restaurant.

Once we arrived we headed inside and were taken to the table we'd pre booked, by the waitress who was stood at the front desk. "y/n, she's fine." Harry said as I stared at my phone. I looked up at him "I know." I said desperately trying to focus. My phone dinged "it's Faith!" I said, quickly picking up my phone. "She cried a little but she just fell asleep xx" I sighed "she's asleep." I relayed the message to Harry. He smiled "good now you can stop worrying." He said with a little laugh. I smiled and nodded.

After eating our food, paying and getting into our car we made our way back to Faith's house to pick Nova up. When we quietly entered the house Ethan gave Harry all the bags and he took them to the car. Then I followed Faith up the stairs and into the spare bedroom where Nova's travel cot was set up. I smiled as I saw her sleeping peacefully in the cot. I looked to Faith "thank you for looking after her." I whispered. She smiled "she was so good, we're happy to watch her anytime." She said. I nodded then gently lifted Nova from her cot and moved her into her car seat, thankfully not waking her up.

Once we got home I took the baby into mine and Harry's bedroom and placed her into the crib next to our bed. She stirred slightly but drifted back to sleep as I lightly rubbed her back. I crept out of the room and entered the living room to see Harry sat on his phone. I sighed deeply as I plopped myself down onto the opposite side of the couch and lay my feet on Harry's lap so my back was against the arm of the sofa. He placed his free hand on my legs and looked towards me "I know it was difficult leaving her, I'm really proud of you." He said. I smiled "thanks Haz."

He rushed to see what is happening and he already knew, mike always have a heater by his night table and he put the heater on your stomach while holding you on a hug and comforting you tears away.

After the pain go away he came running to get you water since it's what all you need, you don't need to say a single word cause he can read you like a book.

He cuddle you to his bed after you drink a water while whispering how much he loves you, it didn't take a long time for both of you to fell asleep.

Nothing hurts him other than seeing you in pain, as much as possible he is trying to learn everything about you and how you feel.

Smartass, surprisingly, actually starts to step away from work more and more. For your sake. It starts off slow, such as completely turning away from paperwork when you approach him and start talking to him. Though as the months drone on, you start noticing more and more, such as how Smarty will actually go to bed with you, regardless if there's more work to be done. He'll assign it to Greasy, or say that it can be done in the morning. You and your guys' child are his top priority now.

Even if it may sometimes hurt Greasy's chef soul, you can always rely on him for your cravings. No matter how weird they may be. Sure, he may tease you or cringe to himself as he makes you pickles on mint chocolate chip ice cream, but he will not let you down. Not to mention, his intuition will be a big help in finding out what you want, even before you realize it.

You can tell Wheezy is extremely stressed at the prospect of being responsible for this new life. You know he loves you and the baby, but it's definitely taking a toll on his stress level. He helps you every time you're hurting and stressed, so you're going to be there for him, too. You can't exactly get rid of his fears entirely, but you can help him focus on the good things of rearing a child; you two can sit down together and discuss names, talk about how cute you're certain your baby will be, and all the ways you know he'll be a good father.

It did take Psycho a while to put two and two together; the fact that you two have made a family now. But when he does, he will not leave your side. He'll snuggle up to you on the couch, he'll curl his form around you as if he's trying to shield you and the unborn babe from any danger. The further along you are, the more protective he gets over you. If Smartass tries to pull him away for a job, he better be prepared to get hissed at, and possibly bit.
